A new mare comes to Ponyville, but something is weird about her
A mare named Blaze Firestarter comes to Ponyville and immediately befriends Lightning Dust, Rainbow Dash and Spitfire. She also starts at the Wonderbolts Academy. Blaze seems to be a normal mare until she begins to do things very few can. She can tell how a pony is feeling just by making eye contact and she's better than Applejack on spotting a liar. Twilight, Applejack and Starlight begins to think she's hiding something from them, but finding the truth about Blaze proves to be way more difficult than they expected.
Blaze Firestarter: Personality: Bold, selfless, empathetic, cheerful and a little impish.
Good traits: Born leader, athletic, empathetic and loyal. Bad traits: Explosive temper (literally) and impatient (at times).
Cutie mark: A Phoenix surrounded by a fire circle.
Bio: The only thing known about about Blaze is that her mane shows how she feels. When the mane looks normal she is either: Happy or feeling neutral. When the mane falls completely down and dims in colour she is sad. When her mane is moving around like a dim flame she is angry, when her mane moves like a bonfire she is furious and when it literally bursts into flames........well......I won't tell.
Design: A mixture of Starlight, Spitfire and Cadence's design. Her mane and tail is nearly identical to Starlight's, her colours (except her iris and coat) is mostly the same as Spitfire and her overall design (except the mane and tail) is the same as Cadence.

It was the middle of winter. The snow was coming slowly down from the sky as the sun was barley visible through the clouds. In the calm weather a Pegasus mare was closing in on Ponyville. She had yellow fur, an orange mane and tail with a dim yellow streak going through it, making it look like fire. The iris in her eyes were blood red and the snow around her hooves as she walked melted.
When she reached Ponyville she received many glances of confusion, something she was used to so it didn't bother her. She went up to the first pony that didn't give her a glance of confusion, but instead the mare gave her a bright smile. The mare was pink with a very tangled and puffed up mane and her cutie mark was three balloons. Two blue and one yellow.
"Hello. I'm new in town. Can you show me where I can find a place to sleep?" she said to the mare.
The mare took her hoof and shook it like crazy.
"HiI'mPinkiePie! YournewheresoIhavetosetupawelcometoPonyvillepartyforyou!" the mare said and ran towards a cafeteria, but stopped half way there before pulling a megaphone out off her mane.
"GO TO THE CASTLE AND ASK TWILIGHT!!!" Pinkie shouted through it.
"That was...something." the Pegasus said to herself and walked straight for the very distinguishable crystal castle. It didn't take long before she was at the entrance. She knocked on the door and about a minute later a Unicorn opened the door. She had a lilac coat and a purple mane and tail with a teal streak through both of them. Her cutie mark was a purple and white star with two blue glimmering streaks.
"Hello. Who are you?" she said.
"My name is Blaze Firestarter. Is Twilight home?" Blaze said curiously.
"Yes she is. My name is Starlight Glimmer. That's a nice manecut." Starlight said.
"Thank you." Blaze answered.
"TWILIGHT! VISITOR!" the Unicorn shouted into the empty halls.
There came a burst of magic and when it disappeared an Alicorn was standing there. She had a light purple coat and a dark blue mane and tail with two stripes. One purple and one pink. Her cutie mark was a purple and white star with five small white stars surrounding it.
"Hi." Blaze simply said.
"Hi. I'm Twilight Sparkle and who are you?" Twilight answered as she stretched out her hoof.
"Blaze Firestarter." Blaze said and shook Twilight's hoof. Though when their hooves made contact Twilight yelped like she just put her hoof on a hot stove.
"What was that?" Twilight said rubbing her hoof.
"I'm sorry. My body temperature increases drastically when it gets cold." Blaze said while dropping her ears. "I was just wondering if you could tell me if there is a place here I can stay at."
"Well there is a vacant hut outside Sweet Apple Acres which is an apple farm not far from here. I think you can just take it without paying." Twilight said.
"Thank you. Thou are nicer than most towns I come to. Goodbye!" Blaze said as she walked away.
Twilight just stood there for a while looking at Blaze walking away.
"'Thou?' Nopony says that anymore except Luna...." Twilight said to herself as she walked inside again.
Blaze walked around town to find the hut with little luck. Suddenly a streak of all colours in the rainbow flew past her and threw a bunch of snow at her. She saw that it was a mare that had zoomed past her and was rolling on the ground laughing.
"That wasn't funny." Blaze said annoyed.
Rainbow Dash looked at Blaze and watched as the snow around her evaporated. Not melting, but evaporating right then and there cutting Rainbow Dash's laugh short.
"Wow....How did you do that?" Rainbow Dash asked in awe.
"I don't want to talk about it. I don't like sharing secrets." Blaze said.
"Whatever, but you are a Pegasus so here is the most important question of all. Think you can answer honestly?" Rainbow Dash said.
"If I lie, I will burn myself." Blaze said.
"Okay the most important question I can ask.....You don't brag about being the fastest flier in Equestria do you?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Honestly I mean i'm a mediocre flier." Blaze answered.
"Care to test it?" Rainbow Dash asked in a half teasing tone.
"I'm always up for a challenge, but I want to rest first." Blaze said.
"Aww. Bummer." Rainbow Dash said.
"Hey don't worry about it. Now can you show me the way to Sweet Apple Acres?" Blaze asked.
"Of course! Just go towards the hills with a whole bunch of apple trees and you'll be there." Rainbow Dash said with 20% more enthusiasm.
"Thank you! See ya tomorrow!" Blaze said as she took flight and soared towards the farm.
She reached the farm just a few seconds later and came to a stop. She walked towards one of the apple trees and placed her hoof on it. The snow immediately melted and the tree began to blossom with an orange glow around it. An apple grew with an accelerated speed and was ready to be eaten in just a few seconds. She picked the apple and began eating it. Delicious. When she finished the apple she threw away the remains and walked out of the farm. It didn't take long before she found the hut. She walked inside and ignited a fire in the fireplace before throwing herself at the couch.
"Great! I have most likely already attracted suspicion. I'll most likely be busted before I know it." Blaze said covering her face.
Meanwhile at Sweet Apple Acres
"What the HAY is this?!" Applejack said looking at the 'enchanted' tree. "How is this tree bloomin' and why is it glowing?" she continued. "Ah need to tell Twilight about this.".
Applejack hurried across town towards the castle. When she came there she didn't even bother to knock. She walked into the castle and entered the room with the map in the center and found Twilight sitting on her 'throne' reading a book.
"Twilight! Somethin' happened at the farm today that nopony can explain!" Applejack said.
Blaze woke up the next morning to a knock on the door. She tried to shrug it off at first, but whoever was knocking at the door was a very patient one.
"Okay, okay i'm coming!" Blaze said yawning.
She walked up to the door and opened it and revealed Rainbow Dash and another Pegasus. This one had a yellow coat, orange mane, tail and eyes. Her mane and tail also had a yellow colour making it resemble fire. Her cutie mark looked like a phoenix.
"Blaze. This is Spitfire. She is the leader of the Wonderbolts and she will be the judge in our little race." Rainbow Dash explained.
"Pleasure to meet you Spitfire." Blaze said stretching out her hoof.
"So how is the race going to be?" Blaze questioned.
"You are going to fly towards the tallest mountain over there." Spitfire pointed at the mountain while talking. "Then you'll come to a blue flag, there you're going to take a U-turn and come back here. The first to finish wins.".
"And what do we get for winning?" Blaze asked.
Spitfire had to think about it for a few minutes. She tried to come up with something that could heat up the competition. Then she got an idea.
"I got it! If Rainbow Crash wins then she can be drill sergeant at the academy for a day and if Blaze wins she can start at the academy without requesting it." Spitfire said.
"Wait, wait, wait. Rainbow CRASH?!" Blaze said before falling over laughing.
When she recovered she stood up and spoke between chuckles.
"Those are some very high stakes. Are you up for it...Crash?" Blaze said trying to hold her laughter.
"Your on!" Rainbow Dash answered.
"Get ready! Set! And GO!!" Spitfire shouted.
The two Pegasi took off and zoomed towards the mountain at high speeds. They were in a tie for a few minutes before Rainbow Dash started taking the lead. They eventually reached the flag and they took a U-turn around the flag. Rainbow Dash got even more ahead of Blaze as the race dragged on. As it looked like Rainbow Dash was going to win a flashback was triggered inside Blaze's mind.
"Aw. You promised."
"Sorry Blitz. Maybe next time."
"You always say that."
"Blaze. Promise me that you'll win."
"From now on I'll win every race I compete in and I never go back on my word."
"Thank you big sister!!!"
"I...promised..................I can't lose. Not now. Not ever!" Blaze said as she sped up.
Blaze's speed increased each second as she quickly caught up with Rainbow Dash. Though the rainbow mare wasn't giving up that easily, but Blaze was picking up speed too quickly for Rainbow Dash and they were eventually tied. Then Blaze started literally fuming with smoke from around her body and then...
BOOM.
A giant circle of fire was created as well as a super sonic boom was heard and Blaze shot at an incredible speed towards finish. Rainbow Dash was hit by the force wave that came after. It knocked her out of balance and sent her straight towards the ground where she hit the ground with a loud:
CRASH.
Blaze reached finish a few seconds later and Spitfire stopped the clock.
"7 minutes and 56 seconds. Not bad." Spitfire said.
"Thanks. I think I sent Rainbow off course with that move I pulled at the end there." Blaze panted.
"Just give her time. She'll be back soon." Spitfire said.
Spitfire was right. Just a few minutes later Rainbow Dash came flying back and reached finish.
"Well Rainbow. Is that another CRASH for your list?" Blaze teased.
"Ha ha. Very funny Blaze." Rainbow Dash said.
"Well Crash, it looks like you finally met your match." Spitfire said bumping Rainbow Dash's shoulder.
"Yeah..." Rainbow Dash paused for a little bit. "Blaze! One day we'll have a rematch, but then it's no sonic fla-whatever that was.".
"Sounds good to me." Blaze answered.
As Blaze was about to say something else Rainbow Dash cut her off.
"Just before you began catching up with me you said you promised something. What did you promise?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"It was a promise I made to my..." Blaze paused as her mane dimmed in colour and fell straight down. "My little sister." she finished as tears became visible in her eyes, but the evaporated when they started to fall.
"Woah. Did something happen to her?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"I came here to visit her. It's been a few years now." Blaze said as she stopped crying.
"Where does she live?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Come with me." Blaze said as she took flight.
Rainbow Dash and Spitfire followed, but the mood went dire when they saw where they were heading. They approached the gate of the place and read what was written on the gate.
Blaze walked around the gravestones and eventually came to a black gravestone decorated with golden colours. On the grave it was written:
Blitz Firestarter A loving daughter, a sister and a good friend Forever in our memory
"How did she die?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"She caught a terminal disease. The treatment was expensive and our family didn't have enough bits for it. I decided to enter a race where 1st place would receive 50 000 bits. Before the race started I visited Blitz. She told me to promise that I would win the race. I vowed to never lose a race again and that i'd never go back on my word. When the race started I took the lead immediately. When I was about to win someone cheated and got me in second place. Two days later...." Blaze paused as her mane lost it's bright colours and fell down completely straight.
"Blitz died." Blaze said as she began crying steam. She quickly got a hold of herself and began talking again.
"At the funeral I vowed to keep my promise even if it killed me. A few days after the funeral the cheater was busted and my family received the reward, but it was too late. I was fueled by rage when I found out someone cheated. I hunted down the stallion and let him feel the flames hell."
"So you-" Spitfire started.
"-got revenge? Yes I did." Blaze said with remorse in her voice as a tear ran down her cheek and evaporated. "I was just so angry at the time. I had no control of myself. How I wish I could take it back. He didn't know about my sister."
Flashback
The fire raged through the building as a Pegasus stallion tried to get out, but every time he got close to an exit fire blocked the path. Eventually he was trapped in the living room as he crouched down on the floor coughing. Suddenly the smoke was pulled away and he could breath again. One of the flames split in two and revealed a Pegasus mare with a mane moving like it was fire. Her eyes were glowing red and steam was coming out of them. Just the sight of this mare was enough to give nightmares for years.
"Please don't hurt me." the stallion said.
"Oh I'm not gonna hurt you. I'm going to kill you!" Blaze shouted with a demonic voice.
"Who are you? Why are you doing this?" the stallion asked.
"Two reasons. One: You cheated in that race. Two: Because of you my sister is DEAD!!!" Blaze shouted in pure uncontrollable rage.
"Please. I didn't know." the stallion said trying to get away, but he was trapped with no chance of escape.
"It's too late for excuses now. Blitz is dead and it's all. Your. FAULT!!" Blaze shouted as the flames began to close in. "BURN IN HELL!!!" Blaze shouted and sent the flames towards him like a wave.
The stallion was consumed by the flames as he screamed in agony. A few minutes later only ash and bones was left of the stallion. Blaze picked up the bones and flew outside the burning building. She put the bones in saddlebags and flew away from the town. She came to Ponyville Cemetery and buried the bones outside of the hallowed ground.
As Blaze finished the story small flames began to materialize in the air and swirled around each other. Slowly the flames started to gather together. At first it was nothing but a ball of flame but they started to slowly take the form of something beautiful. As the Flames died down what was left was a Flower. This flower however was something else entirely, its petals were made of fire and danced in the wind. Blaze set it down onto the gravestone of her sister. The grass surrounding the flower was unaffected by the flames as if there were none, to begin with.
Blaze then silently flew over to a crippled tree outside the graveyard and placed her hoof on it. Then something Rainbow Dash and Spitfire didn't expect happened. The tree glowed orange, changed shape and began to bloom magnolia flowers. Blaze put down her hoof and opened her wings. Heat radiated as small swirls of fire danced around her feathers and suddenly flames burst out from them. The fire raged uncontrollably while Rainbow Dash and Spitfire began to back away. The flames began to calm down and flew off Blaze's wings towards the tree and formed a swirl that raged for a few seconds before the flames disappeared. In the fire swirl's place were now two words.
Blaze then took flight and disappeared in the horizon as Rainbow Dash and Spitfire just stood there. Questions blew in their minds like a hurricane and none of them had answers.
"How did she do that?" Dash asked petrified.
"How didn't the flames hurt her?" Spitfire asked in shock.
The two then turned towards the tree that had two words seared into the bark.
The morning was quiet and the warm glow of Celestia's sun came slowly over the hills. The sunlight came through the windows giving the feeling that this was going to be a wonderful morning and for many it was, but not in Blaze's case. She woke up with sunlight lightly touching her eyes.
'This is going to be a wonderful morning.' she thought, but then...
BANG, BANG, BANG
Someone hammered at the door. Blaze was so startled that she jumped out of bed and hit the floor hard, very hard.
"Wake up Blaze! Your going to be late!" Blaze heard Rainbow Dash's voice shout outside.
"Ugh...This is going to be a loooong day." she said to herself before walking to the front door and opening it.
Outside stood Rainbow Dash with a wide grin.
"Come on it's your first day! You don't want to be late!" Rainbow Dash said full of energy.
"Does the first day have to be so early?" Blaze asked annoyed.
Rainbow shrugged. "Helps you get into the habit." she replied.
"Whatever. Show the way." Blaze said as she shook herself and took flight.
About an hour later they arrived at the academy and Blaze quickly realized that this was going to be just like a boot camp. They landed at the main area and Rainbow went off to talk with Spitfire. Blaze went for a walk on her own and when she came to a part where there seemed to be no one around she sat down and looked at the sky. Then she heard sobbing. It was faint, but she heard it. Somepony was crying. She followed the sound and came to a small building at the end of the area the academy covered. In the shadow of the building she found the source of the sobbing. It was a Pegasus mare sitting up against the wall and sobbing for herself. She was alone, nopony was around to comfort her. Blaze felt that it was now her job to comfort this mare.
"Hello." she said carefully while slowly walking towards the mare.
"What do you want? Have you come to criticize me?!" the mare lashed out without looking at Blaze.
Blaze flinched at this reaction and recoiled a bit.
"N-no of course not. I don't even know who you are." Blaze said while she walked closer.
"D-don't l-lie to me." the mare said between sobs.
"I honestly don't remember the last time I lied." Blaze said as she sat down next to the mare.
She placed a hoof on the mare's shoulder who flinched and looked up.
"Who are you and why are you being so nice to me?" the mare asked.
"My name is Blaze Firestarter. Did you do something wrong?" Blaze answered.
"Innocent ponies were hurt because of me." the mare said before breaking down in tears again.
A look of sadness crossed Blaze's face as her mane dimmed in colour and fell straight. The mare noticed this and looked up at Blaze.
"We have one thing in common already. Innocents have been hurt because of me too." Blaze said as steam came out of her eyes.
The mare's eyes went wide in surprise at this statement. She wiped away her tears and started to speak in a more confident voice.
"So. Why are you at the academy?" she asked.
Blaze's mane regained their colours at the change of topic.
"I won a race where Spitfire was the judge and she said that if I won I could enroll at this academy without requesting. Why are you here?" Blaze replied.
"I have been given a second chance at this academy. I bucked up real bad last time." the mare said with guilt in her voice. "I have hit rock bottom and I don't what to do.".
"You know what is good with hitting rock bottom?" Blaze asked not really waiting for a reply. "When you do, you can't fall further. You can only go one way. And that is up." Blaze continued.
The mare seemed to regain more confidence at this statement, but it was still something holding her down.
"That's not everything. I have never had a real friend." the mare said.
Blaze was taken aback by this, but quickly came with an answer.
"You know. If your looking for a friend you only have to ask. They won't come to you. You come to them. If you want a friend you only have to look around and find someone who is like you in personality or interests. They don't have to be famous or rich. They can be anyone. I think your first friend might be sitting right next to you." Blaze said.
"Y-you'd do that for me?" the mare asked taken completely off guard.
"If you want to." Blaze replied softly.
"T-thank you..." the mare said and gave Blaze a big hug.
"Don't mention it." Blaze said returning the embrace before they separated. "Think you can walk out there now and become a Wonderbolt?".
"Yes ma'am." the mare jokingly said and gave a mocking salute, to which they both laughed at.
"I haven't heard your name yet though. What is it?" Blaze asked.
Blaze and Lightning Dust began to walk around the academy as they talked about different things and laughed at jokes. Lightning actually managed to ignore the glances they were given by the cadets, but it came to a stop when a certain rainbow mare came looking for Blaze.
"Blaze?! Where are you?!" Rainbow Dash shouted looking around.
"I'm down here!" Blaze answered.
Rainbow spotted Blaze quickly, but didn't notice Lightning Dust as she flew down to them. When she landed she was about to say something, but eyes trailed over to Lightning Dust and her words failed. She narrowed her eyes in slow rising anger.
"Lightning, bucking, Dust." she said in an angry tone.
Lightning Dust lowered her head and carefully spoke. "Hi...Rainbow....".
"What are YOU doing HERE?!" Rainbow half shouted as rage began to build up.
"I...got a second chance...." Lightning Dust said while avoiding eye contact.
"You WHAT?!?! A SECOND CHANCE?!?! AFTER WHAT YOU DID?!?!" Rainbow Dash yelled. She was letting her rage run freely.
Lightning Dust couldn't gather more courage to speak anymore as her legs were shaking and tears began to gather. Meanwhile Blaze grew frustrated at Rainbow's yelling.
"RD?" Blaze said, but she was ignored as Rainbow yelled at Lightning. "Rainbow Crash?" she was still being ignored. "Ego head?!" still ignored. That was the last straw for Blaze as her mane rose up and moved like wildfire. "HEY PANINI HEAD!!!! ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?!?!?!?!" Blaze yelled.
Rainbow Dash flinched at the yelling and recoiled a few steps.
"CAN YOU LISTEN TO ME FOR AT LEAST ONE BUCKING SECOND?!?!?!" Blaze continued to yell.
Rainbow Dash eyes went wide as she was struck with yelling that she could literally fell the heat from.
"CAN YOU PLEASE LOOK AT DUST AND TELL ME WHAT BUCKING EMOTIONS YOU SEE IN HER EYES AND BODY LANGUAGE?!?!?!" Blaze shouted as she began to calm down.
Rainbow slowly turned towards Lightning Dust, but didn't see the reaction she expected. She expected to see Dust standing there full of pride and confidence, but what she saw was Lightning Dust barely able to stand and eyes full of tears.
Blaze calmed down and pulled Lightning Dust into a warm embrace. When she did Lightning unleashed an ocean of tears. They sat like that until Dust went dry and no more tears came to her eyes. Blaze let go of Lightning and turned to Rainbow.
"I found her at the far end of the academy looking she was having a breakdown and I saw the remorse and sorrow in her eyes. She has walked with heavy guilt on her shoulders for a long time." Blaze said.
"How can you know that?" Rainbow asked suspicious.
"Tell me something I don't know. Be it truth or lie." Blaze said.
Rainbow thought for a moment before coming up with something.
"Well there was this one time I-"
"You're lying." Blaze cut in.
Both Rainbow and Lightning's jaws gaped open in shock.
"She barely said anything." Lightning said.
"If it weren't for my fiery nature then my special talent would most likely be to tell the difference between truth and lies." Blaze replied with a smile.
Rainbow shook her head and looked back at Lighting Dust.
"Fine i'm agreeing on your second chance, but i'm keeping an eye on you." Rainbow said sternly.
"Couldn't have said it better myself Crash." Spitfire said while walking up to them. "I may have agreed to give Dust a second chance, but that doesn't mean i'm letting her off the hook." Spitfire continued.
Lightning Dust looked up at Blaze and was greeted by reassuring smile. She then turned to Rainbow and Spitfire.
"I know you don't trust me, but thank you for giving me a second chance." she said.
"Your welcome. Now both of you two." Spitfire said gesturing to both Blaze and Dust. "Get to locker room put on your recruit uniform then meet up outside for your first day." Spitfire ended.
"Yes ma'am!" Blaze and Dust said in unison and raced to the locker room.
"I have a feeling they're going to be good friends." Spitfire laughed.
"I have a feeling my days without Lightning Dust are numbered." Rainbow said.
Blaze and Dust exited the locker room in their recruit outfits and came to a stop next to the other recruits by the runway. Most of the other recruits eyed Dust with angry glares, but she managed to ignore them knowing she had a friend that stood up for her.
"Listen up newbies! Do you think you have what it takes to be a Wonderbolt?!" Spitfire said while walking up to them.
"Don't answer that question and whatever you do don't say 'try me'." Lightning Dust whispered to Blaze, who gave a small nod in response.
"Yes ma'am!" all recruits except Blaze and Dust answered.
"Well then let me break it to you. YOU DON'T!!!" Spitfire said adding more volume to her voice. "If you have what it takes then you would already be a Wonderbolt!" she continued and walked up to Blaze.
"Don't think your height gives you an advantage. I won't surprised if you bail out later today." Spitfire taunted.
"As long as my iris' are crimson i'll never give up ma'am!" Blaze answered firmly.
Spitfire didn't answer and walked up to Lightning Dust.
"I won't accept more recklessness. Got it?!" Spitfire said.
"Yes ma'am!" Lightning Dust answered managing to sound confident.
"Good. Now all of you GET UP THERE AND GIVE ME TWENTY LAPS!!!" Spitfire shouted before blowing her whistle.
At this everyone flew off the ground and started flying around the academy. Though Lightning Dust didn't fly as fast as she could and got bumped by almost every single on of the recruits. Blaze noticed as she slowed down and flew next to Dust.
"Hey what's wrong?" she asked.
"I-I don't really know. I just can't bring myself to as fast as could before." Lightning Dust answered.
"Hey don't worry about it. It's in the past and we don't have to be the best right away. Go at the speed your comfortable with. It will be better from here on. I promise." Blaze said giving an empathetic smile.
One week later
Lightning Dust regained confidence slowly, but at least her speed began picking up. On Dizzitron Lightning Dust had done well. She made it in 7 seconds. While Blaze absolutely wrecked Rainbow Dash's record by making it in 5,1 seconds. Lightning Dust was doing well generally and even some of the other recruits had began warming up to her. Though most of them were still being mean. When they were put into teams Lightning Dust and Blaze were teamed up. Blaze became lead pony and Dust became wingpony.
Rainbow Dash flied around the academy and looked at the recruits cloud busting.
"No tornado thankfully." she said to herself.
Suddenly two Pegasi shot past her and flew in synchronized movement parting way and shooting through a whole bunch of clouds in the process before they landed on runway. Rainbow Dash flew down to them and immediately recognized them. Blaze and Dust.
"When lighting strikes...!" Dust started.
"...A blaze erupts!" Blaze finished as they gave each other a high-hoof.
Rainbow Dash slowly flew over to them and landed about a meter away.
"Hello there. How's it going?" she asked half heartedly.
Lightning Dust's mood dropped immediately and she looked away while Blaze gave Rainbow Dash a bright smile.
"We're doing great. Thanks for asking." she said enthusiastically.
"So how are you doing as a team?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"We're second best at the moment, but I bet that we'll be the best when this is over. You should look at the scoreboard when you have time." Blaze answered.
"Alright. I'm off for now. See you later." Rainbow Dash said to Blaze and made a 'I'm watching you' gesture towards Lightning Dust before she flew off.
"Well that was weird.........Anyway let's go get something to bite into at the mess hall. What do say?" Blaze said as she turned to Lightning Dust.
"Y-yeah. That sounds nice...." Dust answered.
Two days later
Blaze and Dust were in the middle of an obstacle course when they suddenly heard Spitfire's voice through a megaphone.
"Blaze Firestarter and Lightning Dust! Come down to the runway right now!!"
The two of them looked at each other for a second before they gave a shrug and flew down to the runway. When they got there they saw that Rainbow Dash and Twilight were there too.
"What's up?" Blaze asked.
"The princess wants you to come with her and Rainbow Dash to the castle of friendship down in Ponyville. Dash also wanted you to bring Lightning Dust so she wouldn't do anything stupid. Even though I could handle it myself."
Blaze thought for a moment, but quickly came with an answer.
"I don't see why I wouldn't come with. Just gotta go and take off these uniforms. Come on Dust! I'll race ya." Blaze said as she started to fly towards the locker room.
Blaze and Dust followed close behind Twilight and Rainbow Dash. They didn't know what was going on, but they had no worries as they were telling each other jokes and doing small stunts on the way. Obviously it was torture for Rainbow Dash to just watch them doing tricks, so eventually she joined in as well. When they came to the crystal castle Lightning Dust was dumbstruck.
"Wow....I have seen the castle from a distance, but seeing it up close its just...Wow!" she said as they entered the castle.
After a few minutes they entered a room with seven thrones, two of them were occupied by Applejack and Starlight, and a giant round table.
"Sit down please." Twilight said as she sat down on one of the thrones.
Blaze and Dust sat down by the table and waited for Twilight to begin.
"Okay so I've been keeping an eye on you since you came to Ponyville and after you arrived unnatural things has happened." Twilight said looking directly at Blaze.
"Let me guess. Apple tree blooming in the middle of winter, giant ring of fire in the sky and a tree by the cemetery now blooming flowers?" Blaze said. This left everybody's jaw dropped.
"How did you know?" Spike asked taken aback.
"Because I caused it. The Apple tree was because I was starving, the ring of fire is my version of a sonic rainboom and the cemetery tree was in honour of my sister." Blaze explained. Again everbody's jaw dropped.
"H-how....." Twilight began, but her words failed.
"I was born with an unstable firey magic. My sister was the same, but her magic was a little more stable than mine. The magic can do many things normal pegasi can't." Blaze explained.
Everbody was silent for a minute before Applejack spoke up.
"Twilight actually had a little fire episode some years ago. When she was still a unicorn, she tried to understand how Pinkie Pie's pinkie sense worked, but when she couldn't find out what 'the dozy' was she got so angry that she literally burst into flames." she explained.
This made Twilight blush in embarrassment and let out a nervous chuckle. The story and the reaction Twilight gave made Starlight laugh like crazy, but Blaze reacted with an expression that was both shocked and curious at the same time. She stood up and walked up to Twilight.
"Come here for a minute please." Blaze asked nicely.
Twilight wasn't sure, but eventually she stepped off the throne and looked at Blaze.
"What is it?" Twilight asked.
"Trust me." Blaze answered as she lifted up her hoof and placed it on Twilight's forehead. "Dear ancestors don't let my suspicion be true." she said as she began channeling her magic to search Twilight's subconsciousness.
After a few minutes Blaze removed her hoof and Twilight looked up to see her standing with a shocked and saddened expression.
"Blaze? What's wrong?" Twilight asked.
"I hoped this would never happen, but it has.....I'm sorry." Blaze said.
"'bout what?" everyone asked.
"Your magic.....i-it has been supressed. Locked away. Why would they do this?" Blaze said as steam began to come out of her eyes and her mane fell straight with dimmed colours.
"What are ya talkin' 'bout sugarcube?" Applejack asked.
Blaze began sniffing and she bit her lip to stop herself from crying.
"T-this." she said a lifted a hoof pointed at Twilight.
Suddenly a shock wave came from Blaze's hoof when it passed Twilight she grabbed her temple in pain.
"Agh! What did you dooooOOOOOWWWWW!!!" Twilight said as her headache got worse.
"I removed the suppression on your magic, but due to the amount of time it has been suppressed its going to hurt like you broke all four of your hooves at once. I'm sorry." Blaze explained.
After a few minutes of screaming in pain Twilight's fur began to turn white and her screams started to go down in volume. Suddenly her mane bursted into flames and her eyes turned into a red colour. She soon calmed down and looked at herself with eyes at the size of dinner plates.
"Wha-what did you do?!" Twilight asked angrily.
"I removed the magic suppressing spell that had been cast on you, but this spell is different. Its much stronger than what a unicorn could ever do." Blaze said in deep thought.
"What do you mean?" Starlight asked.
"That this the work of an Alicorn." Blaze said.
This made everybody in the room let out a huge gasp.
"We're gonna have to bring these news to Princess Celestia!" Twilight exclaimed. "Spike write down these news and send it to Celestia immediately!"
Spike quickly got a scroll wrote on it for a minute before rolling it up and blowing fire on it. As they settled down Blaze took a look at Twilight.
"You know. You a look little like my daughter." she said. Legends says the gasps could be heard in the crystal empire.
"What!? You have a daughter?!" Twilight asked after getting her voice back. "Where is she?!"
"I actually have two daughters, but they are both grown up. They moved for themselves years ago." Blaze explained.
Spike let out a loud belch as a scroll appeared in the flames that came out of his mouth. Twilight levitated the scroll with her magic, which was now had a red glow instead of purple. She opened the scroll and read a sentence before reading out loud.
"Dear Twilight Sparkle. From what I understood of that rushed letter, you have stumbled over something that we need to further investigate. Your former teacher. Princess Celestia.
P.S: When you read this sentence you and your new friend will be teleported to the throne room in Canterlot."

Blaze and Twilight appeared in the middle of the Canterlot throne room facing the royal sisters. When Celestia saw Blaze she gave an expression that was unreadable to a normal pony, but quickly returned to her trademark smile. Once Blaze made eyecontact with Celestia she let out a gasp that was drowned by Twilight's voice greeting the princesses.
"Twilight! What happened to you?!" Luna exclaimed.
"Well.....she found out that an Alicorn had suppressed my magic and she removed it, crazy right? My new look is the result of my magic being freed I guess." Twilight explained and pointed at Blaze.
"Very well then. Now, care to introduce us to your friend?" Celestia said in a soft voice. Though Blaze understood that Celestia already knew her.
"Celestia and Luna, this is Blaze. Blaze Firestarter." Twilight said while gesturing towards Blaze.
At mention of the name 'Firestarter' Celestia and Luna did a double take that went right over Twilight's head, but was seen by Blaze.
"Well then. Blaze, what brought you to Ponyville?" Celestia asked with a curious look that Blaze recognized. The realization for Blaze was so much for her that she completely shut down and just stared at the sisters in silence.
"Um....Blaze? They asked you a question.......hello?" Twilight said and waved a hoof in front of Blaze without getting a reaction.
"Daybreaker?" Blaze whispered.
"What was that? Speak up please." Celestia said.
"Daybreaker and Luna? Is that you?" Blaze asked.
Celestia got an uncertian look on her face that lasted for under a second as she stepped off her throne and walked up to Blaze with Luna behind her.
"No. I'm sorry, but you must have confused us with someone else." Celestia said.
"Why are you lying?" Blaze asked.
Twilight was left speechless as the conversation continued.
"I'm not lying. What would I gain from ly-"
"Stop it." Blaze cut in.
"Stop? Stop what?" Celestia asked as a sweat drop became visible on her forehead.
"Stop lying." Blaze said as she held out a hoof and sent a shock wave of energy at the sisters.
When it hit them Celestia's mane and tail bursted into flames (which quickly changed into a golden like orange mane and tail) and her eyes became draconic with yellow irises. Luna's fur turned jet black, her mane turned a light blue and her eyes became turquoise with slit pupils as well (no sharp teeth).
"There, better now." Blaze said as a smile began to form on her face. "After two thousand years of searching I can finally see your faces again." she continued as she began walking towards them with Twilight just standing in the background with her jaw almost hitting the floor. "Is this where you've been the entire time?" Blaze continued as she drew closer.
Celestia (or Daybreaker) took a nervous step back like she was afraid of the pegasus in front of her. She lowered her head slightly as she sat down with her head hanging in shame it seemed, but this quickly changed when Blaze flew up to head level and gave her a big hug. When this happened Celestia's face turned to shock.
"You're...not mad at us?" she asked as her shock kept growing.
Blaze released the hug as she looked at her with warm smile only a mother could do.
"Of course not. That was only the first hundred years. If you came back then you would have been grounded." Blaze said half-jokingly as she landed on the floor again and turned to Luna. "I forgot my anger for you so long ago. All I ever wanted the last one thousand and five hundred years was to see you again." she said as she hugged Luna as well.
When Blaze and Luna separated Twilight came walking up between the three.
"Okay so you're their mother and they are your daughters, and you haven't seen each other for over 2000 years. And now we're just gonna take it like it's an everyday revelation? HAVE I MISSED SOMETHING?!?!" she ended with a shout of confusion.
Blaze sat in silence before she let out a giggle.
"Perhaps I should tell you everything from the beginning. Then maybe you'll understand better." Blaze said as she looked back at her daughters. "And maybe I'll get some answers myself."
