Neighsay realizes how he was wrong about friendship
Chancellor Neighsay has been rebuking the times when the ponies and the Non-Pony races have helped each other in times of danger. However, when a mysterious entity cracks down on the EEA, he is shocked by who rescues him and his comrades.
At 8:45 PM in Canterlot one evening, Chancellor Neighsay was in the middle of a meeting. He and his comrades in the EEA were talking about planning a private conversation between Neighsay and Twilight, in regards to the times when ponies and Non-Ponies would help each other in dangerous times. Neighsay largely rebuked these circumstances, believing that the races would turn on each other and start a war.
"I swear, this will lead to the destruction of Equestria.", Neighsay hissed.
All of a sudden, the doors to the main room were banged open, and a red-skinned figure with horns and snake eyes burst in.
"You stand before the EEA, please identify yourself and state your business.", Neighsay requested calmly.
"I AM YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE!!", the figure said in a low, hissing voice.
Before Neighsay had time to react, the figure spread wings like those of a dragon. Then, he channelled dark powers and released an energy wave that knocked Neighsay and his comrades unconscious. When Neighsay passed out and fell on his face, his EEA medallion became damaged and lost most of the energy that it held. The intruder proceeded to release searing hot flames from his mouth of razor sharp teeth. In a matter of minutes, the EEA building was completely ablaze and the members were trapped inside. Pillars had collapsed and the main exits became blocked off. After slowly waking up and seeing the fire, Neighsay tapped his medallion and used the remaining energy to send a call for help to Celestia. Seconds later, he passed out again from inhaling smoke.
Celestia notified the Wonderbolts to drop water on the fire, but the flames were too hot. The water evaporated three feet from the roof. Knowing what had to be done, Celestia called the Christian Fleet, and instructed Twilight to call the Young Six to her office.
"Young Six, please come to my office as quickly as possible. This is a Priority One emergency.", Twilight's voice sounded over the PA.
Captain Brandon and Admiral Link were waiting when the six students arrived. They began by showing satellite footage of the fire, and when it started. Link zoomed in on the main door, and revealed who was responsible for the fire. They saw the figure who had gone in and set fire to the complex, and his monstrous appearance.
"His name is Satan. He is the one and only enemy of our fleet. His actions are unpredictable at times, and we do everything necessary to keep him at bay.", Brandon explained after the footage was turned off.
"The Wonderbolts have tried to smother the flames, but the fire is way too hot. The water evaporated before it reached the roof of the EEA headquarters. I need you to go in there and extract the members. I know you are hung up on the fact that Neighsay does not like Non-Pony creatures, but you are the bravest students I have ever taught friendship to.", Twilight explained calmly.
Without hesitating, the six boarded a helicopter to Canterlot and began putting on protective gear.
Brandon and Link put on their gear during the ride as well, and everyone opened their oxygen valves right before touching down in Canterlot. When the door opened, they jumped out and charged toward the EEA headquarters. While Gallus and Smolder broke windows to let the smoke escape, Yona used her yak strength to break down the doors, and to lift up the collapsed pillars. After Silverstream installed braces to hold up the pillars, everyone moved on to the main room and Sandbar pushed the doors open. Brandon and Link carried super cooled water to keep the flames down, while the Young Six pulled the EEA members from where they were stuck. Yona personally carried Neighsay out on her shoulders, and Ocellus began doing medical evaluations to identify any injuries the members had sustained.
"All of them will need to be splinted, because they have severe fractures. Three of them, including Neighsay, will need to have surgery because their lungs are pierced by broken ribs.", Ocellus reported after running scans on the EEA members.
They were immediately admitted to the Royal Canterlot Hospital and the treatment began.
Neighsay woke up slowly and wondered what had happened that resulted with him in the hospital. Not focusing on it, he went back to sleep.
The following week, he and his comrades were about to pick up where they left off in their meeting, when Twilight knocked on the door and came in dressed formally. She instantly began explaining why she had come.
"Celestia wants all residents of Equestria at the royal castle. There is a ceremony taking place. I have been sent to escort you.", Twilight said softly.
Neighsay did not argue, and the EEA members followed close behind her. Neighsay was confused as to why Sandbar and the Non-Pony creatures were seated on the stage behind Celestia, until she began speaking.
"One week ago, the EEA came under severe attack and the members nearly died in the raging fire. Then, these students from Twilight's School of Friendship arrived with two members of the Christian Fleet. After going into the building, they performed a strong act of bravery and courage. They also showed mercy for the EEA staff, by successfully rescuing them from the flames and getting them to the hospital as soon as possible. As a token of congratulation and appreciation, Luna and I have decided that these young individuals shall receive medals of honor with crossed phoenix feathers for their heroic actions. This medal is the highest award for bravery and lifesaving that Equestria has to offer.", Celestia announced to the audience.
Neighsay was in shock, because he had always rebuked these other races. Now, he had been rescued by them. He didn't know how to respond. He looked up just in time to see Celestia and Luna hanging the medals around the individuals' necks.
"LET'S HEAR IT FOR THESE BRAVE INDIVIDUALS!!", Luna cried out.
As everypony began clapping and cheering, the royal trumpets blared. Being polite, Neighsay smiled and clapped as well. He was called up by Celestia after the ceremony for a private meeting with her, the Young Six, Twilight, and Brandon. In the conference room, they began to enlighten Neighsay about what had happened.
"Is this the one who started the fire?", Brandon asked as he pulled out a picture of Satan.
"Yes, who is he?"
"His name is Satan. He is the master of lies, temptation, stealing, and all other sins.", Twilight explained calmly.
At this point, the Young Six spoke up.
"All of the instances where we helped each other were times that he had attacked our separate hometowns. We assisted each other in neutralizing the threats and cleaning up the damages. That is what friends do. They look out for each other.", the students explained together.
Neighsay hung a photograph of the Young Six in the meeting room, and labeled it as the brave group who had saved them from Satan. After meeting with Celestia about not trying to enforce his own curriculum in EEA accredited schools, and only having to worry about students' safety, he met with Twilight and the leaders of the Non-Pony races. Together, they formed a brand new EEA rulebook that was not strict and allowed teachers to teach in their own style. Celestia signed off on the proposal when she saw everything was correct and would flow smoothly. Finally, their picture was taken and put in the news all over the nation. With that final touch, education in Equestria and the lands beyond was equalized for all races.
