Chapter 1: Alone

It was cold and raining. The ground was muddy and the temperature was barely above freezing. No pony in there right mind would be out on a night like this. Deep in the Everfree Forest a lone soul wandered aimlessly looking for any sort of shelter. A young filly, hardly ten years of age, trudged through the mud. She was cold, tired, and hungry and in desperate need of shelter. As she made her way through the forest she thought back on how this all happened.

Today was the day! To day her father and mother were going to giver the ultimate test to see was worthy of ruling Equestria. Today was the day that everything changed. Today was the day she lost everything.

"Nightshade!" A female voice called. "Get up to day is your test."

"Five more minutes mom!" Nightshade called back before falling back asleep.

"Don't make me come up there!" The voice responded. Nightshade said nothing in return already fallen back asleep. "Fine you asked for this!"

"GAH!" Nightshade cried out as a bucket of gold water materialized above her head before spilling its contents on the small filly, giving her a rude awakening." Okay I'm up!" She said. Nightshade groggily stepped out of her room and made her way down the massive flight of stairs down to the first floor. Why her father installed so many steps was beyond her, but she learned it was best not to question her parents' logic. After reaching the bottom of the stairs she made her way into the dining hall to see her mother giving her a cheeky smile. Nightshade just glared at her. Her mother was a tall bug like pony creature with a crooked horn and hole ridden hooves. She had insect like wings, green spider web like hair, and an antenna shaped a bit like a crown. Her name was Chrysalis

"I hope you're excited because today is the day you get to prove yourself." Chrysalis smiled.

"I can't wait I'm going to be just like you and dad!" The filly said excitedly. The changeling smiled proudly at her daughter's enthusiasm.

"Good to hear I know you will make your father and I proud, speaking of which. SOMBRA GET YOUR FLANK UP HERE AND EAT BREAKFAST WITH YOUR FAMILY!" Chrysalis yelled towards a door that lead to the basement. A loud crash and a loud whoosh sound shook the house. The sound of hooves on steps were heard before the door to the basement was pushed open. A tall black stallion with a black mane, a cutie mark consisting of three blood red crystals. His horn was curved and red at the tip and looked to be as sharp as a newly made knife. He turned towards his family with a bemused look on his muzzle."Nice of you to finally join us. What were you doing building more stairs?"

"Hmph! I'll let you know I was making something special for Nightshade for when she passes the test." He said as a matter of factly tone.

Nightshade looked very excited at the prospect of getting a present. She looked up at her father with wide eyes hoping to get him to tell her what the surprise was. Sombra chuckled before ruffling up his daughters mane."Nice try but you're not going to get me this time my little shadow." Nightshade crossed her hooves and pouted. This caused her parents to burst out into laughter which she soon joined.

"Okay time for breakfast!" Chrysalis announced as she presented the meal. In front of her husband she placed a plate of burnt toast, burnt eggs, and even burnt orange juice, for her daughter a bowl of cereal and a cup of orange juice, and for herself a pink glowing love smoothie.

"Well dig in we got a big day ahead of us!" The changeling announced before beginning her meal with the rest of her family.

After breakfast the family made their way to the roof were Sombra and Chrysalis had set up Nightshades test. Nightshade didn't know what the test was all she knew is that she had an important test to proof her ability to do something important. Other than that she had no clue. Once they reached the top the first thing Nightshade saw was a tarp over some large cube. The filly turned to her father with a confused look. Sombra just smiled and trotted over to the object and grabbed the tarp with his magic.

"Okay Nightshade all you need to do is one simple thing..." He pulled off the tarp."Kill this mare." A cage with a young unicorn mare with a yellow mane, peach colored fur, and an orange as a cutie mark inside. She was bound and gauged and looked absolutely terrified. Nightshades' eyes bulged and her jaw nearly hit the ground.

"WHAT?! WHY!?" She asked." What did she do?"

"She follows Celestia and her sister. She is our enemy and she should dye because of it." Sombra said proudly.

"Go on honey go kill the follower of our enemy." Chrysalis encouraged her daughter.

Nightshade walked toward the cage. When she approached the mare inside tried to inch away in fear. This caused Nightshade to hesitate. The filly never questioned her parents, but this was the first time they told her to kill an innocent mare. She couldn't do it."No." She said softly

"What?" Sombra asked, his voice getting darker."What did you say?"

"I said no! I will not hurt an innocent mare who did nothing wrong!"
Sombra growled and charged up to her daughter"Did you just tell me no?! I command you to kill that mare I am your father!"

"No I will not hurt her she did nothing wrong so let her go!" She demanded.

"Oh I'll let her go..." He turned towards the caged mare."TO THE GRAVE!" He exclaimed. He lifted the mare with his magic and ripped of her gag. Using his magic he twisted the mare in uncomfortable positions, snapping her bones and joints as the mare screamed in pain. The dark stallion grabbed her two back legs and tore them from her body. He then slammed her back into the ground shattering her spine. Sombra then grabbed the mare's horn with his magic. The mare's eyes widened in horror as she realized what was about to happen next. "NO PLEASE!!" The mare cried. Using his magic he pumped the horn full of energy to the point where it exploded. The unicorn screamed in agony as her most powerful part of her body was taken from her. Sombra wasn't done yet though. He quickly grabbed the unicorns jaw and began to pull. The mare continued to cry in agony as her facial bones and muscles were slowly torn from her body. All the mare could think was how much she wished this to be a bad dream, how she wanted to wake up and be home with her husband and son. She never got her wish, with a loud rip of bone and tissue and the slosh of blood the mare was dead. Her face was gone and her brain hung on the edge of its now exposed cavity.

Nightshade was horrified at what she just saw. She looked at her father with fear. He then spoke"Get out of my house" he said darkly. Nightshade was shocked.

"D-dad.." She began to say.

"DON'T CALL ME THAT YOU ARE NOT MY DAUGHTER!" He cut her off."Get out of my home before I kill you too!" He commanded. Nightshade turned towards her mother for comfort but got none. Chrysalis looked at her with disgust. Tears began to well up in the filly's eyes as she realized they didn't care for her. Nightshade turned and ran. She ran back down the stairs and out the front door. She ran and ran, not stopping for anything. Her family didn't want her anymore. She ran into the forest never to return.

The memory played over and over in her head. In an instant her family hated her. One minute they were all happy and the next her family hated her. She had no idea that her parents were actually like that. Her parents were killers and insane. In a way she was glad they weren't her parents anymore, but that didn't remove the void that no resided in her heart.

After traveling for another hour or so Nightshade finally found some sort of shelter. A large flat rock lying on a smaller sloped rock provided a cover from the rain and a dry spot to sleep. The young filly made her way to the rock cover and laid down. She was cold, hungry, and most of all...

Alone.

Chapter 2: Hello

Phoenix was having a bad day. It started out fine; he got up, checked on his fusion reactor, made sure no time demons were attacking the town, and got sat down for breakfast. Halfway through breakfast, however, some crazy light being broke through the walls of reality and decided to challenge him to a fight. To say Phoenix was a bit upset would be accurate. The being of light calling itself Victory claimed that he was a hero and Phoenix was a dark being that needed to be destroyed. When Phoenix said he didn't want to fight Victory flung him through a tear in space to another universe. Now if Phoenix was in the previous universe he would have blown Victory from existence, except now he was in an entirely different reality he could not do that.

"You will not win villain!" Victory shouted before sending a beam of light at the upset pony.

"You're the one who attacked me," The unicorn replied taking the beam directly to the chest. Phoenix absorbed the energy and fired it back at the being of light.

"Oh so you still maintain your reflection ability in this reality huh?" Victory mused while dodging the reflected attack. Victory quickly opened up another rift and tackled Phoenix through it. What Victory didn't know was that no matter what universe or dimension they were in Phoenix would have that power.

After what felt like hours they fell into a new universe. As soon as they passed by the tear in reality Phoenix could feel some of his power returning to him. As soon as he landed on his hooves the unicorn charged his attacker. Surprisingly enough the being of light was solid allowing Phoenix to tackle Victory through a few trees. Trees? Phoenix got up quickly and observed his surroundings. He knew this forest this was the Everfree from the universe he started in, but why did he not have more access to his power? A blood curdling scream interrupted his thoughts.

"PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!" the voice of a filly cried out. Without a second thought the unicorn ran in the direction of the cry ,completely forgetting about his fight. Weaving his way through the trees, ducking under branches, and vaulting over fallen logs. Finally he made his way to a strange rock formation. He instantly found the source of the cry, a small filly coward beneath Victory as he towered over her.

"You are full of dark magic I must end you before you can cause harm," The light being said as he prepared to strike down the defenseless filly. Victory didn't have time to follow through with his attack before Phoenix slammed him into the rock formation. The unicorn concentrated dark magic into his fists and began to pound Victory into the rock. The light being screeched as he was beat relentlessly."You can't win your full of dark magic your evil." He yelled knocking Phoenix off of him and sending an even more powerful beam of light in the direction of the stallion. The unicorn took the beam of magic head on and absorbed it. What happened next shocked Victory, the light magic that Phoenix absorbed converted itself into dark magic and was fired back at him. The creature of light was so shocked that he had no time to evade the attack. Phoenix trotted over to where his opponent once stood. There laid a slightly glowing goldenrod colored pony with a white star cutie mark.

"Do you repent and feel sorry for your sins?" Phoenix asked.

"Y-you are the one who wields dark ma-magic you are the o-one who have sinned." Victory said weakly."I will never give in to you."

"Very well," Phoenix said with a sigh, he hated doing this. Four black tendrils shot out from round the unicorn and slammed them selves into the golden pony. The pony let out a screech of pain as his soul and all his power was pulled from him. His eyes rolled into the back of his head and he went limp. The dead ponies body faded into light and vanished. The dark tendrils reseeded and dissipated leaving the forest forest quiet once again except for a slight whimper. After staring at the spot where the pony once laid for what felt like eternity he turned to the sound of the whimpering. Hidden in the shadows was what looked like a small filly crying. The unicorn slowly made his way over to the crying pony."Hay are you okay?"

"EEP!" The pony cried out and suddenly turned itself into a shadow. To say that Phoenix was surprised would be an understatement. The shadow made it's way across the ground and was hard to track because of it being night, but the full moon provided enough light to spot the little shadow scurried along the forest floor. Phoenix tracked it with his eyes as it went in circles appearing to be lost. After a good while the filly rematerialized and ran right into the larger pony. The pony cowered underneath his gaze trying to scoot away from him.

"Hay hay it's alright I'm not going to hurt you," He said calmly. It had been along time since Phoenix had any experience with foals so it was a bit hard trying to appear friendly. It must have worked because the filly stopped trying to back away and just looked up at him with big fear filled eyes. Now he could get a better look at her. She was a young filly obviously, probably no older than ten and had no cutie mark. She was gray with black hooves, her mane and tail was black and green, her horn was curved like a changeling, her eyes were like that of sombra, she had small fangs, she had a red changing shell on her back, and she had wings. The unicorn could feel dark magic emanating from her, but it felt soothing not hurtful. There was something else however he wasn't sure what it was it felt familiar in a way.'How peculiar.' he thought
"P-please d-don't hurt me" she whimpered softly.

"Don't be scared little one I'm not here to hurt I did just save you after all," He said with a wink and a cheese smile. The filly giggled a bit at this."There we go no need to be afraid." He said as he helped her up with your magic. "Now what are you doing out here, and where are your parents?"

"They...." She trailed off as tears began to fill her eyes. Phoenix quickly decided it was best to change the subject.

"Well why don't we start by introducing ourselves my name is Phoenix Quantum Nebula!" He boasted proudly causing the filly to giggle again. Phoenix stuck out his hoof for a sake,"And you are?"

"Hello... I'm... Nightshade" She respond and shook his hoof with her own.

Chapter 3: New Home

"Hello Nightshade it's nice to meet you," Phoenix said. He was wondering why a little filly was out in a dangerous forest on her own, but he had a hunch as to why. He asked any way however "What are you doing out in the Everfree by yourself where is your parents?"

Nightshade's face became downcast as tears began to role down her muzzle."Th-they..." She broke down into sobs. Phoenix was unsure as what to do it had been so long since he last comforted somepony."...d-din't want m-m-me a-a-a-any more!" She continued to cry profusely. Phoenix wracked his brain on what to do. Acting on instinct he wrapped his hooves around the small filly and stroking her mane trying to calls her down. To his surprise she hugged him back. He was shocked at how trusting she was. After having her parents betray her you'd expect her to be causes of who she trusted. The two just sat there in each other's embrace for minutes on end until the filly's sobs subsided. Suddenly realizing what was going on Nightshade blushed in embarrassment. "Sorry for bothering you with my problems Mister Phoenix"

"Hey it's not a problem!" He said casually. Inside he was very uncomfortable he was not used to this and really wanted to get away. They just sat there looking at each other neither knowing what to say. Eventually a yawn coming from the filly finally reminded Phoenix how late it was.

"Well I can't leave you here," He said while getting to his hooves "I have room at my home why don't you come with me and in the morning we can decide where you'll stay"

"O-okay," Nightshade was now becoming wary about trusting this pony, but he did save her life after all and he did comfort her. Besides she had no place better to stay. She got to her hooves as well and looked up to the unicorn waiting for him to lead her to his home.

"Now don't freak out I've had too many ponies go into a panic from me doing this," he warned. His horn glowed a deep orange as the air in front of them rippled then tore open like a piece of paper.

"Wow!" Nightshade gasped.

"That's a response I haven't heard in a long time," he said with a chuckle. Phoenix stepped through the rift and Nightshade followed. They passed through what looked like a black void to another rift which they also walked through. On the other side of the second rift was what looked like a castle.

"Ooh! Is this where you live?" Nightshade questioned. "Are you a king?"

"Well technically yes, but I don't really think of it that way. I only enforce the laws and protect my ponies." He said walking up the steps to the massive castle doors," I don't really need a big castle but ponies insisted that I have one because they view me as their ruler and I deserve it. I really don't care where I live as long as everyone is happy and healthy." The unicorn pushed open the doors to reveal a large room with arcing stairs up to an overhang and multiple hallways connecting to the main room. Phoenix made his way up the stairs to the overhang and a set of double doors. He turned to see the filly looking around the room with wonder. Phoenix couldn't help but chuckle at the little filly's amazement. "Come on it's late and young foals need their rest," he said as he pushed open the double doors and made his way in while Nightshade continued to follow. They made their way through the castle going down long hallways and passing multiple doors eventually they came to a stop outside one of the many doors at the end of one of the halls."This right here..." He pushed open the door "Is where you will stay" The room was rather bland the walls were white marble and the floor had a soft red carpet a small bed with a metal frame and a dark blue blanket covering it and a white bed sheet underneath."I hadn't changed the beds to wood frames yet because I don't get many guests I hope like it."

"Night shade examined the room. Just ten minutes ago she had thought she would never see a bed again, and here was this kind stranger who saved her from death and brought her into his home. Tears began to fall from her eyes as she turned around and hugged the older pony," Thank you" she said softly. She soon felt a pair of strong hooves wrap around her.
"Your welcome," Phoenix responded.

Phoenix sat quietly at a large dining table. He sat in silence just thinking over the events of the day. He was now looking over a small filly named Nightshade who was obviously the daughter of Sombra and Chrysalis, but she was nothing like them. She was just like most fillies if not a bit shy. What he didn't understand why she was so willing to trust him. Most ponies would think he was trying to take advantage over them or think he had some sort of agenda. He sighed, he was more than a little lost. It had been a few billion years since he last interacted with somepony or anything for that matter other than maybe Discord

"Did someone think my name," a cheery voice rang out and a flash of light revealed said draconequus.

"Discord what did I say about reading my thoughts?" Phoenix asked jokingly.

"I can't help it if you think so loud," He gave a cheeky grin

"Fair enough so what did you want?"

"I was just passing through when I noticed you bringing in a young filly," he said with a slight grin.

"Yeah what about it I found her in the Everfree and she needed a place to stay."

"Hmm... I was certain you just wanted to have a go at being a fool fiddler," the draconequus joked

"Don't you even dare joke about that," the unicorn said angrily. Discord put his paw and eagle claws up defensively.

"Okay okay, you're no fun anymore,"

"What ever so is that all?"

"Celestia still blames you for Twilight's death."

"How long has it been on this world?"

"About a decade and a half since the event,"

"It feels like so long ago.. well for me it did actually,"

"I can't imagine how boring it must be to spend almost three billion years in a time lock, I would go mad before I got out,"

"Discord you're already crazy"

"My point exactly!" Discord declared proudly! Phoenix just chuckled and shook his head. He got up and made his way towards the exit.

"I'm heading to bed I guess I'll see you around"

"Till next time Sir Pho!" Discord responded before disappearing in a flash of light.

Chapter 4: School

"Do I have to go?" Nightshade asked, looking up at Phoenix with pleading eyes. It had been a week since Phoenix found her in the forest and has remained at his castle since then. Now he was getting her ready to go to this thing called School. She didn't like going outside the castle and preferred to remain inside away from other ponies.

"Yes you do if your going to stay here then you're going to need to get some sort of proper education." He declared

"But can't you teach me?"

"I wish I could but I have a lot of work that needs to be done as of recent," That wasn't entirely true. In truth he was going to look for somepony to take in Nightshade, and hopefully adopt her. He could take care of her himself, but she would be at risk of being hurt, especially with the number of beings who had a grudge against him. "I'll walk you to school and then I'll have to attend to my work. Besides the teacher is really nice she used to live in Ponyville and has been teaching for almost forty years!" He said as he made his way out of the front doors with the filly following along side him.

"Is she pretty?"

"I guess you could say that."

They continued down the path to the school house. As they walked Nightshade began to become more aware of ponies staring at her. She tried not make eye contact, but she could feel their stares burning into the side of her head. Luckily Phoenix noticed her discomfort and waved the ponies off. Nightshade gave a small smile of gratitude as they continued down the path. Eventually they came to a light blue schoolhouse with a white shingle roof. There was white picket fence around a green yard, and in the yard Nightshade could see a large, colorful structure sticking out from behind the schoolhouse. Fillies and colts of different shapes and sizes made there way into the building. Some walked in groups, and others walked alone. Nightshade felt very uncomfortable with so many ponies in one place. When a few foals turned to look at them Nightshade attempted to hide herself behind one of Phoenix's legs. As they got closer more and more of the school ponies turned to look at them. To say Nightshade was very uncomfortable would be an absolute understatement, she felt like she wanted to crawl under a rock and hide forever.

"Okay nothing to see her now move along!" Phoenix practically demanded. The foals soon turned away from the pair and made their way into the school house. As the fillies and colts made their way into the blue building a cerise colored earth pony stepped out and made her way to the two ponies standing on the path. Her cutie mark comprised or three smiling flowers, and the mare looked to be in her late twenties.

"King Phoenix it's great to see you today!" The mare greeted with a bow.

"Cheerilee I've told you 351 times to just call me Phoenix!"

"Considering you technically rule over me you are my king."

"I only protect the town nothing more I wish you would all just treat me like a normal pony instead of a king or a god."

"Fair enough," Cheerilee turns towards Nightshade and smiles "And who do we have here?"

"This is Nightshade she is staying with me and I thought it would be a good idea for her to go to school and make some friends"

"Hello Nightshade I'm Miss Cheerilee the school teacher!" She said with a smile, but Nightshade gave her a confused look.

"Mister Phoenix I thought you said she has been teaching for almost forty years. She looks too young!" the filly exclaimed clearly confused.

"Oh well you see medical technology in this town is so advanced that ponies live to be very old and age slowly!" the unicorn answered

"And it's all thanks to you!" the earth pony said to the unicorn. Phoenix grumbled under his breath but Nightshade didn't hear it.

"Any way I have work to attend to so why don't you run along and I'll pick you up this afternoon, okay?" Phoenix asked the small filly. She nodded and followed Cheerilee into the school house.

Nightshade trotted into the classroom right behind the teacher. The class room was large and had posters all over the walls with positive messages. Many of the colts and fillies were chattering away. That is until she walked in. As soon as Nightshade stepped into the class every foul turned to stare at her. That uncomfortable feeling from before had returned, and she was really wishing to be someplace else. She could feel their emotions , and almost all of them had some sort of contempt or hatred towards her.

"Okay my little ponies take your seats so we can begin today's lesson!" she said in a singsong voice! The fillies and colts turned their attention away from Nightshade as every pony took their seat. Nightshade, however, was unfortunate enough to have to sit in the front being the only available seat. She tried to ignore the negative emotions towards her, but it was incredibly difficult. "Okay class we have a new student today. Her name is Nightshade and I expect you all to welcome her and treat her with respect!" She said before beginning the lesson. "Today class we will be talking about elements! Does anyone know what kind of elements I'm talking about?" She asked the class. A colt raised his hoof. "Yes Rocket?"

"The elements of harmony!" He said confidently

"Nope! Anypony else?"

"The elements like wind and water?" A filly asked

"Nope! Any other guesses? How about you Nightshade do you know?" The mare asked. Nightshade's eyes went wide with fear all the ponies in the class were staring at her expecting her to give an answer.

"Um... I-I-I... T-the P-Periodic Table of E-Elements?" She stammered. She remembered her father used to teach her about how different objects were made of different things and these things were called elements.

"Correct! That is right, and does anypony know the name of any of them?

"Oxygen?" A colt asked

"That is one! Dose anyone know any others?" She asked the class. After getting the last question right Nightshade felt confident enough to answer.

"Um, Hydrogen, Helium, Tungsten, Carbon, and steel are some right?"

"Close. The first four were right but steal is an alloy not an element. You will learn about compounds and alloys in the coming month!" She said as she continued with the lesson. Nightshade felt a bit embarrassed about getting the last one wrong but that soon faded as the lesson went on. The filly was completely absorbed in the lesson and she was asking questions every chance she got.

"The next element we will be looking at is-" The teacher was cut off by the school bell going off. " Looks like it's time for lunch and Recess!"
The fillies and colts practically cheered at that and ran out the door and were gone in an instant. Nightshade however was saddened by this and wanted to keep hearing more about the elements. She slowly got up from her desk and grabbed the lunch out of her bag and made her way out of the room and out the door to the playground and seating area. She looked over the benches and found a lonely seat away from all the other students. She sat down and pulled out a tuna fish sandwich. I know what your thing and yes she is an omnivore, and she was glad that Phoenix so happened to be one as well it made things a lot easier when he is caring for her.

"Mind if ah' sit here?" a voice asked. Nightshade was startled by the voice and turned to see a small white colt with brown splotches all over his body, a red mane, and a yellow red eyes. He was much shorter than any of the other fouls which kind of surprised her.

"Um.. no you can have a seat..."

"Thank ya' kindly!" He said before sitting across from Nightshade and pulling out a hey sandwich, "Name's Pipsqueak Jr. but ya'll can just call me Pip for short." He said extending his hoof to shake.

"H-hi I'm Nightshade." She said taking his hoof and shaking it. "Is your daddies named Pipsqueak too?"

"Eeyup! Ah'm named after my Pa!" he said. At first Nightshade was uncomfortable, but as they talked that feeling went away. They sat and chatted for a bit as they ate their lunch. Nightshade was thankful he didn't know she was eating tuna. After they finished eating they engaged in a game of tag. The two ran around the playground playfully chasing each other around trying to catch each other. Soon the school bell rang and all the fillies and colts made their way back to class.

The rest of the day was mostly uneventful. Miss Cheerilee went on to talk about more of the elements of the periodic table. Nightshade remained absorbed in the lesson and continued to ask questions. The teacher was more than happy to answer them, much to the displeasure of most of the students having to hear more about the element neon more than any of them particularly cared to. Many of the students began to develop a hatred towards Nightshade, but she did not scenes there growing distaste for her because she was so focused on the lesson. Eventually, to the relief of the students, the school bell rang signaling the end of the school day. All the students rushed out the door with there bags in tow. Pip said goodbye to Nightshade and left the school building to meet a yellow mare with a red mane. Just as Nightshade was about to leave a pop sound rang throughout the classroom. Nightshade turned to see a scroll had appeared on the teacher's desk. Miss Cheerilee walked over to it and read it.

"Nightshade King Phoenix has sent me a scroll telling me that you will be needing to walk home he says he's a bit busy at the moment and won't be able to pick you up."

"Okay thanks Miss Cheerilee! See you tomorrow!" She said before leaving the class

"Have a good afternoon Nightshade!"

Nightshade exited the school building happily and skipped down the path back to the castle completely unaware of the three colts following her.

Nightshade was halfway home when she suddenly felt a wave of hatred flow towards her. She shivered and suddenly felt very scared. " Wh-who's there?" she asked looking around trying to find out the sources of the intense emotion.

"Well what do we have here? looks like we found a little know it all!" A voice came from her left. As soon as she turned to the direction of the voice she found herself surrounded by three colts at least twice her size. "Who do you think you are acting all smart and asking questions like you own the place?" The colt who asked was an earth pony with a black mane and and grey body with a tan book as a cutie mark.

"Yeah who do you think you are." A white unicorn with a blue mane and an orange as a cutie mark.

"Why do you think you're so special that you have to waste every ponies time asking stupid questions?" a grey blue pegasus with a brown mane and a tornado as a cutie mark asked.

"Yeah!" The unicorn said.

"I think we should teach her what happens when you ask so many questions after all you obviously like to learn!" He smiled evilly. Nightshade was absolutely terrified she could feel the immense hatred towards her. Before she could run the unicorn to her left kicked her in the side causing her to fall over. The other colts soon joined in on kicking her and beating on her. She desperately attempted to fight back, but it was all in vain. She did the only thing she could do! She called for help.

"DADDY!"

"Shut up you're daddy isn't here to save you!" The unicorn said before delivering a swift kick to her head and to her eye. As soon as he said that there was a loud thud from behind the colts. They immediately stopped and turned to see a tall white unicorn with a yellow and orange mane. "K-king Phoenix w-we were just-"

"Beating up my daughter?" he asked rhetorically. All three colts' pupils shrunk to the size of pin heads. "Nightshade come here!" Nightshade complied and rushed behind Phoenix. He looked down at Nightshade to asses the damage. The filly could suddenly feel a great burning anger emanating from the larger pony. She was thankful that it wasn't directed at her. Phoenix turned back towards the colts and spoke in a slow and dangerous voice. "Give me one good reason to not throw you in juvenile prison?"

"Um.. because she is a know it all?" the unicorn colt said stupidly. This only caused Phoenix to become even more enraged.

"DISCORD!" The king called. A second letter a flash of light speared and a draconequus appeared.

"You called?" Discord said with a smile, but that soon vanished as soon as he saw his friend's anger.

"Return these colts to their families and inform their parents that they have assaulted the king's newly adopted daughter. Also tell them that I am letting them decide the punishment of their colts or if they want me to decide on what their punishment should be.

"You three are in big trouble!" He said before snapping his fingers and all four vanished except for the stallion and filly. After a short silence Nightshade began to whimper bring the unicorns attention back to her.
