Chapter 1

A soft breeze carried the smell of the ripest apples from a large apple orchard, and the summer sun flickered off the bright red barn. In the orchard, working hard as always, were four ponies. The first and eldest was a red stallion, who carried a yoke around his neck and had a spiked orange mane and tail. His muscular structure and wide muzzle gave away that his passion was being a work horse, and helping his sisters.

The second was the middle filly, and was orange with a pale yellow mane and tail. She wore atop her head a brown cowboy hat, and kicked a tree, shaking bright red apples free into a basket a smaller filly held on her back. This smaller filly was a pale yellow, with a apple-red mane and tail. In her mane, right behind her ears, was a large, pink bow.

The fourth wasn't an earth pony. He flew through the air, using incredible speed to rustle apples out of the trees into levitating buckets below. He had a bright orange pelt, and a mane and tail streaked with red and yellow.

"Gee, Daybreak, do ya think ya've worked enough today?" the orange filly said below the stallion. He paused in midair, right before crashing into another tree. He smirked, and looked into the filly's bright green eyes.

"Don't worry AJ, I could never make up your hospitality for taking me in these past few days. Just let me work for a few more days-"

"Daybreak, I want you to go out. Enjoy yourself. You've spent days working, and It'd be selfish to keep you working."

"But Applejack-"

"I promise Big Mac, Applebloom, and I got it handled here."

Daybreak stared at Applejack, set his bucket down, and nodded. He flew towards Ponyville until a bright light caught his eye. It was a bright blue, and flickered black and white. His hooves touched the ground and he stopped, gazing at the orb in wonder. It ebbed and pulsed, until a turquoise pegasus began to emerge from the orb, her wings were folded in tightly agianst her back, and her eyes were closed. She slid out like a trout fresh out of a stream, a flowing black-and-white striped mane and tail emerged last from the orb, and an explosion of blues erupted behind her. The filly's hooves touched the ground and her eyes flickered open, reveling sapphire blue eyes. The filly's black-and-white mane came to rest, a black feather pulsating a dark blue magical aura in her mane. Daybreak stood there in shock, and the pegasus blinked.

"Hello there!" she said. Daybreak blinked again, and shook his head. She was the most astounding filly he had ever seen.

"Hi." he said. The filly trotted up to him.

"Whats your name?" She said cheerily, and looked him over quickly.

"Daybreak. Yours?"

"Feather Note." The filly said. She flapped her wings out and gave them a shake.

"Wow. It's been a while since I've used these..." she said, and flapped up into the sky a bit.

"I've never seen you around here before." Daybreak said, and flew up next to her.

"That's no shock. The last time I was here was about...oh, I guess about three pony years." she said, and glanced around.

"Wait, you've been here before?" he asked. Feather Note paused, and glanced at him through playful blue eyes.

"Yeah, once. I can travel freely between worlds. It takes a ton of magical energy, and I can't use my magic for a few days after my arrival here, but I only come when Princess Celestia and Princess Luna call for me."She started flying again, towards Ponyville.

"I-I was magically teleported here about a week ago. I'm a human-"

"Oh man, I'm so sorry Daybreak. I must've done that. My teleportation magic doesn't completely work sometimes, and sometimes it teleports others instead of me. What was your human name?"

"Jackson."

Silence followed that. The filly had no response, and just kept silently flying.

"I'm sorry..."she whispered, and lowered herself to the ground.

"What do you mean?" Daybreak asked, and followed her to the ground, and stood next to her. The filly turned around, and stared at the ground. Tears formed at her eyes.

"Jackson I'm sorry...I'm so so so sorry..." Feather Note's tears splashed onto the dusty ground.

"Feather, why are you sorry?" Daybreak asked, and reached out with his left wing to comfort the filly. She sidestepped, and looked up.

"I-I'm a human to. You know me. My names Lyra..." she said. Daybreak pulled his wing back quickly, and stared at her.

"I-I never wanted this to happen to you..." she said, and flew away at a high speed. Daybreak just stood there in a shock. Why was she apoligizing? He focused his magic into his horn, and tried to locate Feather's location. He closed his eyes and saw her flying towards Rainbow Dash's home in Cloudsdale. He sighed. May as well let her go, Dashie would tell him all about it later.

Chapter 2

I pounded on Rainbow Dash's thick door. I couldn't believe that Daybreak was Jackson. My magic wasn't supposed to teleport him. Emily, Cory, James, Kevin...I was ok with any of them but Jackson? The junior I, a freshman, had a crush on?

The door opened to reveal a cerulean pegasus with a spectrum mane and tail.

"Feather? What a surprise!" she said, and put her hoof out for a hoofbump. I gave it a weak bump.

"Whats wrong dude?" she asked, and I wordlessly hugged her, my tears started streaming into her fur.

"Rainbow...." I sobbed, and I felt her hoof start rubbing my back comfortingly.

"Whoa dude. No need for the waterworks right now. Come on in and tell me what happened." she said calmly. I let go of her and nodded solemnly. She trotted in and I followed, kicking the door closed with my hind leg.

Emily looked around. Where were Jackson and Lyra? She turned to her left, were Kevin sat, laughing, his pale blue eyes sparkling and curley back hair bobbing with every laugh.

"Hey guys," she said. Everyone kept talking and laughing. They were overly loud, even without two of their members. Where they sat at lunch, under the staircase in front of the annex of the high school, was a small confined area with stained gray carpeting and white walls. She loved this place, but that was beside the point.

"Guys, can you shut up for a minute?" she asked, louder this time. James, a freshman, shut up almost instantly. In the center of the circle was Kalvin, still talking like the dumbass he was. Emily grabbed his pale pink hat off his head.

"HEY!" he cried, and reached for it. She held it next to her.

"You can have it back after I finish talking."

"Fine." he said, looking disgusted.

"Does anyone know what happened to Lyra or Jackson? I haven't seen either of them today..." Emily said, her voice drifting off.

"No, but now that you mention that, its strange. Jackson would've told me if he was sick..." Kevin said, and started rubbing Emily's back in a weak attempt to comfort her. She looked at the hat in her hands.

"I just hope they're ok..." she almost whispered sadly.

Chapter 3

"So thats what happened." I finished telling Rainbow. The pegasus nodded, rainbow mane bouncing slightly.

"I see. So you like this Daybreak character huh?" she asked. I nodded weakly and shoved my face into her cloud pillow.

"Why don't you tell him?"

My head snapped up and I glared at her. I sighed and sat up, my black-and-white streaked tail hanging off her bed.

"Rainbow, it doesn't work like that in the human world. Its a very risky thing to tell someone you like them up front. They could not like you or have a girlfriend already or.....It's just so nerve-wracking that I can't do it."

"What about if I did it?"

I started at her for a minute. That was a genius idea, but would he believe her? I've had things like that happen in the past, and they never worked out.

"Go ahead. I have to go to Canterlot in the morning with Twilight anyway. Whatever happens won't matter." I said sadly. A knock on Rainbow's door interrupted our conversation, and she got up from her chair to answer it.

"Hi Rainbow. Is Feather Note here?" An all-too-familiar voice said from the door.

"Yeah come on in." she said. I heard the door close, and hollow footsteps down the hallway towards the room I was sitting in. Rainbow trotted into the doorway first, and right behind her was none other than.....

Daybreak.

Emily absent-mindedly sketched something on her laptop. It had been a week since Jackson and Lyra had gone missing, and the school really hadn't done anything about it. It's like they had never existed.

Except the entire group remembered them.

The other day, Emily had run into Lyra's best friend Callua, who didn't remember her either.

What was happening here? Did it have anything to do with the fact they were both Bronies?

Her phone vibrated on the table next to her. She opened the message and saw it was from...
Jackson?

Hey whats up?

Not much just where the hell are you?

I'm in Equestria.

Your fucking kidding dude. Get off the shrooms.

No, Emily. I'm serious. Lyra's here to.

What?!

Yeah. Apparently her and I teleported here using her magic.

Bullshit.

Look.
She opened the message to see him, A turquoise pegasus, and Rainbow Dash all standing together.

Who's the other pony?

Thats Lyra's form. Her names Feather Note.

Huh. its nice to know you guys are alive.

So how are things over there?

Nobody remembers you guys. Well, thats an understatement. Only our group remembers you guys. Both of you need to get back here asap.

But Feathers got business with Celestia!

I dont give two ponies. This is gonna cause so many paradoxies....You guys just need to get back here asap. Tell Lyra that. I gotta go bye.

bye?

Chapter 4

Daybreak closed the phone and placed it back into his saddlebag and sighed. Emily, his best friend, hardly believed him. That he had turned into a pony and was in Equestria. He stared out the window at the countryside as it flew by. He was on his way to Canterlot with Feather Note, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, AppleJack, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, and Fluttershy. He looked over next to him. Feather Note was sleeping peacefully, her calm breaths signaling that she was deep in dreamland. Every now and then, her body would start shaking, and he would have to place his wing over her to prevent it from getting too violent. Across the aisle was Rarity, her curled purple tail cascading onto the floor as she slept, her head on a fuzzy royal blue pillow.

Daybreak looked behind him to see Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash sleeping as well, Fluttershy's pale pink tail draped across her best friends spectrum one. It seemed like he was the only one awake until he saw a ray of purple light from the front of the car.

Twilight must be awake. he thought and stood up. Daybreak trotted to the front of the car to see that Twilight was sleeping, though the light was still emanating from in front of her. Daybreak watched Princess Luna emerge from the orb, and he bowed reflexively.

"Relax, Daybreak." she said, and Daybreak stood.

"What brings you here, Princess?" he asked, and Luna signaled for him to follow her. The two Alicorns trotted over to where Feather slept.

"She does." Luna said.

"What do you want with her?" he asked defensively, and stood in front of the turquoise pegasus.

"I don't want anything to do with her, it's you I want to talk to about her." Luna said. Daybreak relaxed.

"What do you mean?"

"Follow me." the dark Princess said, and trotted to the end of the car. Daybreak followed her until they emerged at the caboose. She turned to face him.

"Daybreak, I know how you feel about her." she said, and they sat in the chairs nearby.

"What do you mean?"

"Daybreak, ever since you found out she teleported you here, I've noticed you've been treating her the way you should've been for a long time."

"Like protecting her?"

"Yes. Being protective of her. I know how you've been treating her in the human world, and I think you've found more of a reason to protect her now that you two are here."

"Princess with all due respect, I think Feather can protect herself. Plus she's nothing more than a friend to me."

"We both know THAT'S a lie, and I know she can, Daybreak. She's my apprentice. I just want you to think about what you're doing and why you're doing it, Daybreak." Luna said, and vanished into a swirl of stardust. Daybreak got up, and trotted back to the car where the ponies slept. He looked at Feather and paused. She started to shake again, and he took his seat next to the window and put his wing across her.

Why was he doing this? Daybreak had never thought of that. Why was he going to Canterlot with Feather and all her friends? Was it really because he wanted to protect her? Daybreak looked over at the mare, and slightly shuffled his wing so he could see her face. Her black-and-white mane covered part of her eye as she slept, black feather turned a white so it blended in. He bent over and kissed her lightly on the cheek. That was why he was going with her. That was why he was protecting her.

Because Daybreak loved Feather Note.

Chapter 7

"Feather, we're almost there." I heard Daybreak say, and his I could feel his bright orange hoof was pushing me just enough so I woke up. I blinked awake, and sat up. I looked over at Daybreak, who had a warm, caring look in his amber eyes. It hardened quickly into a friendly glance.

"Should we wake the others?" I asked, and Daybreak nodded. We got up, and I trotted over to Rarity first. I removed the blanket from on top of the white unicorn mare, and started nudging her.

"Rarity, wake up, Hoity Toity is here to see you." I said gently. The mare bolted up and removed her eyemask.

"What? Where?" she said, and started scanning the train car.

"No where silly. You just had to wake up because were almost at Canterlot." I said, and trotted off to wake up Pinkie.

"I fucking hate you Feather." I heard Rarity mumble under her breath. I started waking up Pinkie when I felt a hoof on my shoulder. I turned around to see Pinkie standing right behind me. I jumped and fell backwards on top of the apparently an inflatable Pinkie that squeaked as my weight crushed the pool toy, and the pink earth pony started laughing.

"I gotcha Feather!" she said. I stood up shakily and rubbed my head.

"Yes you did Pinkie." I laughed, and glanced over to see Daybreak staring at me with concern in his eyes. He imminently snapped his head down, blushed, and went back to trying to wake Twilight. I shook my head, and Pinkie and I trotted over to where Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were sleeping together.

"Hey you two. Wake up, we're almost at Canterlot." I said, and gave each pegasus a shake. Fluttershy woke up almost instantly, but we had to practically throw Dash off her seat because she was such a heavy sleeper. By the time she was awake, Daybreak had managed to get all of our saddlebags together, plus wake up Twilight and Applejack.

The eight of us stood at the door, waiting for the conductor, as the train pulled up to the station in Canterlot. We saw Prince Shining Armor, Twilight's big brother, waiting for us. The door open, and Twilight galloped out to meet her brother.

"Shining!" she cried.

"Twily!" he said, and they hugged. the rest of us walked up as they broke.

"Celestia has rooms for all of you at the castle. Follow me." he said, and trotted off.

Emily awoke to the sun shining on her face. She immidietly picked up her phone to check for a message from Alex, her boyfriend.

Nothing. Again.

This was starting to worry Emily. She hadn't gotten a text from Alex in three days, and Jackson hasn't contacted her since the day he told her that him and Lyra were in Equestria either....

What the hell was going on?

She quickly got dressed and went to the bathroom. After she had brushed her teeth and washed her face, she went downstairs for breakfast, to find her father...

Gone?

Emily looked around for a note or something the her dad would've left.

Nothing.

She looked out in the backyard to see a pale orange orb ebbing towards her. She took a step back, and the orb passed through the screen door. She reached out to touch it, and next thing she knew, she was being sucked into a strange world. Emily felt her limbs being pulled at, and a gentle, yet harsh tug on her back between her shoulder blades. Her hair spread so she could see it was now blue, and she felt that she had a tail. Emma's body exploded in pain and she screamed.

And she wasn't the type of person who would scream.

Emily fought to keep her consciousness in this strange world of oranges and blues, but eventually tiredness won over and her world went black.
