The Mane Six were good friends with the Doctor in his 10th incarnation. However the Doctor never told them about his ability to regenerate and what that entails. So they aren't taking too kindly to some bow-tie wearing imposter running around with the TARDIS

It was a nice sunny day in Ponyville as the Elements of Harmony themselves enjoyed lunch at Sugar Cube Corner.

"Man I'm bored. I just wanna go do something" A certain rainbow maned pegasus said, sitting her head on the table.

"Well Rainbow Dash, the new installment in the Daring Do series just arrived at the library if you're interested." Twilight Sparkle suggested. Rainbow Dash just sighed deeply.

"I'll get it later, but that's not what I mean. I wanna go on some awesome adventure!" Rainbow exclaimed as she began to flap her wings and pace in the air. Without any warning however a loud mechanical wheezing sound began to fill the place of business. Slowly but surely a large blue box appeared in the middle of the room.

"Thank Celestia it's the Doctor!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she flew over to the box and hugged it. The other three ponies in the room began to crowd around.

"Oh! I hope he brought us a neat space alien bunny rabbit! I'll pet him, and love him, and squeeze him, and I'll name him George..." The resident pink party pony began to ramble, as one Rarity walked up the box and began to gush.

"Oh I hope he's brought some kind of marvelous new fabric! Oh I never get tired of these visits." The white unicorn said.

"Oh I hope he's wants to bring us back to that library planet!" Twilight said as she unconsciously began to tremble in excitement.

"Bleh, that was the worst place he ever took us to, or did you forget the pony eating dust mite things?" Rainbow Dash said.Twilight however ignored her as she fantasized about the greatest library in the galaxy
Suddenly the doors to the box opened and everypony began to smile brightly. Out of the box stepped someone they did not expect. He was a grey-brown unicorn, looking to be in his mid 20's and thus around the same age as the Elements, and had an hour glass cutie mark. He wore a tan tweed jacket, a red bow-tie, and a red fez atop his dark brown mop of a mane.

"Hello, um, are you the Doctor's new companion?" Twilight asked as she tried to peak around the stallion and into the box.

"Nah, it's me Twilight the Doctor!" The stallion said in a Trottingham accent with a smile.

"No you're not." Was the collective deadpan response.

"What?! Of course I am!" The Doctor pretty shocked.

"Look buddy, the real Doctor is an earth pony. Well he looks like one anyway, which means he isn't a unicorn!" Rainbow Dash said as she floated right up to the stallion and flicked the horn on the young stallions head.

"Ow! Look see the cutie mark?" The stallion said as he turned his flank to them, showing the hour glass mark.

"That doesn't prove anything. Somepony with the same cutie mark as another is uncommon, but not unheard of." Twilight said, clearly not impressed. Before the Doctor could explain himself further, Rarity walked up and eyed the fez on his head.

"I've been meaning to ask, what is that thing on your head dear? " The white unicorn asked, seemingly out of nowhere. The Doctor smiled, but soon frowned when Rarity continued.

"Whatever it is it's positivily hideous."

The Doctor was flabbergasted to say the least. He quickly recomposed himself and said in a nonchalant voice,

"It's a fez, I wear a fez now. Fezzes are cool." At this Rainbow Dash laughed and replied,

"No they're not."

"Yes they are!" The Doctor replied in an indignant voice. Rainbow then flew down, grabbed the fez, then stomped on it.

"No they really aren't." She deadpanned as the Doctor looked around the room and saw unimpressed faces, a couple even slightly hostile.

"Ah well, I'll be back then." The Doctor said as he quickly ran inside the TARDIS.

"Hey! Get back here! You can't just steal the Doctor's TARDIS!" Twilight yelled as she banged on the doors. The Tardis then began to disappear.

"What do we do now?" Rainbow asked as she crossed her forelegs in a huffy manner.

"Nothing I guess, the Doctor can deal with this by himself. He's dealt with worse after all." Twilight said as she returned to her food.

"That was so cool! I was wondering when someone was going to do a story with the 11th Doctor! He's my favorite, well next to the 4th Doctor." Pinkie Pie exclaimed, causing everypony to look at her oddly.

"What are you talking about Pinkie?" Twilight asked, only to have a hoof shoved into her mouth as Pinkie replied,

"Sorry, spoilers."

The TARDIS materialized in the royal chambers of Princess Luna. The princess smiled as she saw the doors to the box open. Out trotted the Doctor in his new form, causing Luna to rush over to him and embrace him.

"Please tell me you weren't hurt too badly this time." The princess said, having finally managed to kick her archaic speaking habits.

"No more than usual." The Doctor said as he returned the hug. The two parted and he then sighed deeply.

"Is something wrong Doctor?" Luna asked, causing the Doctor to look away in annoyance.

"Oh it's those Element bearers. I swear I drop in to see if they want to go on a little trip to planet Barcelona for a holiday and they have the nerve to say I'm not who I say I am!" The Doctor said in a huff. Luna raised an eyebrow.

"Um, Doctor. You met them during your 10th incarnation correct?" Luna asked, causing the Time Lord to look at her curiously.

"Yes? Why?" The Doctor asked.

"During that time did you mention that Time Lords can regenerate into new bodies, thus explaining your prolonged life?" The Princess of the night asked causing the Doctor to stay silent for a few long minutes.

"STUPID!" The Doctor yelled as he slapped himself in the head.

The TARDIS appeared in Sweet Apple Acres, the Doctor poking his head out and looking around to make sure it was safe to exit. He wanted to make sure the other four Element bearers didn't talk to Applejack before he could explain the details of regeneration to her. He knew at this point it would be a hard sell to the others, but if he could get Applejack to believe him then the others would be more inclined to do so. As he trotted around the farm looking for the orange mare, he spied a tan stetson sitting on a post. Missing his fez he trotted over and picked it up, placing it on his head.

"Howdy there partner, what can I do ya fer?" The all too familiar voice of Applejack called out as she trotted up to the Doctor. He turned just in time to see her friendly smile turn to a harsh frown. Applejack then quickly tackled the Doctor to the ground and glared at him.

"I take it you've already talked to your friends about me?" The Doctor asked.

"Eeyup."

"Any chance you would believe I really am the Doctor and that my species can regenerate into a new body to heal wounds and greatly extend our lives?"

"Nope."
