"HAHAHA. R-remember that time Twi m-mixed up all our c-cutie marks!!!??" Rainbow Dash said. She might have had one too many ciders.
"Y-yeah that was just t-too funny darling." Rarity said. Maybe they all had too many ciders.
It was another girls night out. All of them, Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash, were gathered around their favorite table in the Salon. They liked to come together at least once a week here to just have a good time with friends.
"Har har yeah so funny." Twilight said sarcastically.
"Oh come on Twi it was really funny now that ah think 'bout it." Applejack added.
"it wasn't funny when I was freaking out and scared I would lose you girls forever."
"Oh lighten up Princess Twilight!! We're all super duper good now!" Pinkie said.
"I already told you girls, don't call me Princess." Twilight seemed like the only one who didn't have too many drinks.
"I-I think s-she was just kidding Twilight. No n-need to get all mad... if that's alright with you." Fluttershy said.
"Okay.. I g-guess it was kind of *hiccup* f-funny wasn't it?" Scratch that, Twilight did have a lot of drinks.
"There's the Twilight we know!" Dash exclaimed.
"Haha yeah and remember when AJ said hand not hoof!!!! That was sooo funny!!" Pinkie said.
All the ponies stopped laughing to stare at Pinkie. What was she talking about? What was a...a...hand?
"Pinkie what's a hand?" Rarity asked.
"Well a hand is a bfof-" She was cut of by an orange hoof in her mouth. All of the ponies looked at her questioningly.
"Applejack? What are you doing?" Twilight asked.
"Umm... would y'all look at the time I got to get going now its been a mighty pleasure." She tipped her hat. "Pinkie don't you have something to do?" She turned her head to look at Pinkie and winked.
Pinkie winked back. "Oh that's right AJ I have to get going. See you all later!" She placed some bits on the table and hopped out the door. Applejack was not far behind her.
"Well that was weird." Dash said.
"Yes, yes it was... I think we need to have a talk with Applejack tomorrow." The purple alicorn said.
"Agreed" The rest of the ponies said in unison.
Applejack woke up the next morning with a hangover. She must have had about ten glasses of cider last night. She got out of bed and almost collapsed.
"Whoa!!" She exclaimed as she struggled to steady herself. Her head hurt so bad, she just wanted to crawl back into bed. It's a good thing they didn't find out last night, I don't know what I would have done, she thought to herself.
Applejack got ready for work, she didn't have time for a sick day. She splashed water on her muzzle trying to wake herself up: It didn't work. She sighed. The orange mare put her hat on and headed out to the fields.
"Hey Applejack yer up!" Applebloom exclaimed. The volume of her voice was too much for Applejack, she winced.
"Hey Applebloom, yer sure up early."
"No, you're just up really late." Granny Smith explained. The old mare brought a tray of fresh made pancakes to the table. Applebloom dug in, so did Big Mac. Applejack sighed and decided to join them.
She put some pancakes on her plate. She bit into the first one and her eyes widened. It could have just been the hangover, but these pancakes tasted delicious! She scarfed down another five before she decided it was time to go to work.
"Thanks Granny, those pancakes were the best ah've had in years!"
"Well, I'm glad you liked them."
Applejack walked out the door and didn't even make it ten feet before she saw five ponies walk towards her. Oh horseapples, Applejack though. The orange earth pony began an all out sprint towards the apple fields. The only problem was that Rainbow Dash was faster than her... and she had a hangover. It didn't take long for Dash to catch up with Applejack and stop her in her tracks.
"Hold it there cowgirl." Dash said. Applejack had no choice but to surrender. She didn't have anymore energy left to run. The other ponies soon caught up.
"Applejack what was that all about?" Twilight questioned.
"Um.. nothin' ah just needed some exercise." She sucked at lying.
"You suck at lying." Dash said.
"We just want to ask you a question AJ nothing more." Twilight explained.
"Ah know what y'all are going to ask me about."
"You do?" Fluttershy asked.
"Of course, ah'm not stupid."
"Alright Applejack let us just present the evidence first so there are no questions, alright?" They all nodded.
Twilight's horn lit up and they all watched as a screen came up in fron of them. They watched exactly what happened that day.
"Hey that's me!" Pinkie exclaimed as she saw herself trying to buck apples.
It was then Applejack's part in the impromptu song:
Looky here at what I made, I think that it's a dress.
I know it doesn't look like much, I'm under some distress.
Could y'all give me a hand here and help me fix this mess?

The screen disappeared after her part was over.
"Hey! I was watching that! Now I won't know what happened..." Pinkie said disappointingly, the other ponies just rolled their eyes.
"You see Applejack, we just want to know what a hand is." Twilight explained.
"Alright y'all. Ah'll tell you." Applejack gave up. The other ponies smiled in anticipation.
"Ah read a book... yea a book." She eyed Rainbow Dash as she was about to laugh. "Anyway, ah got it from Lyra and ah was curious. So ah read it. It was titled Humans. It was all about these things, they walk on two legs and have hands and feet. Well ah had just finished reading it the night before.... all that happened. Ah must have slipped."
"That's it?" Rarity asked.
"Yeah that's it. Sorry It wasn't more interesting."
"No that's alright Applejack, but I would recommend if you were to read a book that it not be one from Lyra." Twilight suggested.
"Okay everypony ah'd love to stay and chat, but ah got a lot of work to do. See y'all later!" Applejack waved. They waved back and went their separate ways, satisfied by the answer.
Applejack was lucky to get out of there so quickly. She headed straight to the barn. When she got inside she closed the doors and headed to the back corner. She opened the door to the celler and eagerly waited.
That's when he emerged from the cellar. He was tall, handsome, and human. He got up out of the cellar and gave Applejack a huge hug.
"Ah missed you Applejack how have you been?" He asked.
"Ah've been fine how 'bout you Jack?"
"Fine, did you tell them about me?"
"No don't worry your secrets safe with me."
Applejack and Jack proceded to sit down and talk the rest of the day away.
