Rainbow Dash sat on a park bench and looked at the sky with teary eyes. The sky was a magenta with orange colliding around the left over clouds. A butterscotch Pegasus walked over towards her. She looked at the pony that just defended her honor and did the sonic rainboom. Fluttershy had noticed the crystal clear tears coming out of her eyes.
"Why are you crying ?"
"Oh sweet Celestia ! You scared me."
"I'm sorry, but why are you crying ?"
"Those bullies.. I may look tough, but.."
Fluttershy hugged Rainbow Dash.
"Um why'd you hug me ?
"You defended my honor and helped me get my cutiemark !"
"Hey, I never got your name.."
"It's Fluttershy.."
"Well, I'm Rainbow Dash !"
"Dashie.. I'll call you Dashie"
"Fine, I'll call you Fluffershy."
Rainbow jumped off the bench and went home, Fluttershy waited for her dad. He never came. She had to walk home. As she neared her house she mumbled to her self "I glad clouds are soft, that was the longest walk I had ever taken." The door creaked open and Fluttershy sighed. Her dad was asleep on the couch, almost on the floor. She didn't mind it. Her dad works almost constantly and her mother was an Earth pony so she couldn't come to the clouds. Fluttershy had felt sorry for her father, so she left a letter on his desk and she grabbed her saddlebag. The note read:
Dear Father,
today I saw mom today, she was really happy to see me. I see you are sad almost every day. I took my belongs and went to Ponyville. I love you daddy, I hope to see you again one day.
P.S I got my cutiemark.
As Rainbow Dash walked home she thought about Fluttershy. She had never felt so tingly around a girl. As Rainbow neared her house her griffon friend, Gilda was waiting for her. Rainbow's parents died when she was three. Gilda's parents have been missing for five years now.
"Sorry I'm late."
"No prob."
The two walked in and got some soda out of the refrigerator. They hardly had any food and couldn't get a job, but if they let anypony know they would be taken away.
"Hey Gilda.."
"Do you feel tingly around other mares ?"
"No...."
"Oh okay."
Gilda was more confused than ever, and so was Rainbow.
Fluttershy looked down at the ground.
"Oh my.."
She looked at the night sky, then back at the Earth.
"Here I go.."
She jumped down and began to scream. Posey jumped up and grabbed he daughter.
"My, my Fluttershy. Did you fall off a cloud again ?"
"No mama, I want to stay with you."
Posey looked around nervously.
"Fluttershy it's not the best time."
Fluttershy's eyes began to water.
"Pwease.."
"Flutt-
"PWEASE !"
"OH OKAY !"
Fluttershy hugged her mother and yawned. Posey picked up he daughter and lied her on the couch. Posey sat down and got lost in her thoughts.
"Posey I love you"
"I love you to, but please take her as far away as you can. I can't bear for her to see me in this state."
Posey began to cough and sputtered blood as soon as her special somepoy left.
Posey soon snapped out of her thoughts and went to bed. Before she lied down she whispered to her self. "Three days..."
Rainbow went to flight school, in hopes to see Fluttershy. She walked around asking everypony she knew, but all the results came up negative. Rainbow sat down and sighed. Then she had an idea. She walked to the end of cloud and looked down.
"It's worth a shot."
The Pegasus opened her wings and jumped, she landed on a barn.
"Ow.."
She got up and tripped, the next thing she new is that she was face to face with an orange Earth pony.
"Um... why were you on mah barn ?"
"That's not important.. have you seen a yellow Pegasus with pink hair ?"
"Um..No, but Ah know and earth pony that fits the description.."
"Take. Me. To. Her. NOW."
"Okay..Okay.."
The to got up and started to walk east..
"So what's your name ?"
"I'm Rainbow Dash !"
"Well, Rainbow Dash Ah'm Applejack."
Applejack stopped in her tracks and pointed to a cottage.
"That's where she lives."
"Well thanks..Applejack."
Rainbow ran off to the cottage and looked around it first, no Fluttershy.. She walked to the door and knocked twice. An Earth pony that looked just like Fluttershy opened the door.
"Uh..Hello ?"
"Do you know a Pegasus named Fluttershy."
Posey stepped back inside her house. Rainbow heard a bunch of mumbling, then Fluttershy opened the door.
"Oh, Hi Rainbow."
Rainbow hugged Fluttershy.
"Um what was that for ?"
"I never hugged you back, remember ?"
Rainbow started to walk away.
"Wait !"
"Huh ?"
Fluttershy ran and kissed Rainbow. Rainbow just stood there frozen.
"I really like you Dashie.."
Rainbow leaned over and kissed Fluttershy's forehead.
"Never tell anyone. Okay ?"
"Alright."
Posey looked out the window and saw two blushing pegasi. Random thoughts flew through her mind.
"It probably nothing." she mumbled to her self as she walked to the kitchen.
Fluttershy ran into kitchen and told her mom that she was going to play with Rainbow and left. While they walked through Ponyville they bumped into a white Unicorn.
"For Celestia's sake doesn't anypony watch where they are go- Oh my I have never seen you two before."
Rainbow got up while rubbing her head, and Fluttershy hid behind her.
"Hi. I'm Rainbow Dash, and this is Fluttershy."
"Well I'm Rarity. I would love to stay and chat, but I must go see my mother." The filly said as she ran of.
Rainbow and Fluttershy sat at a near-by bench. Rainbow felt like something bad was going to happen.
"HI I'M PINKIE PIE !"
Rainbow and Fluttershy fell on the ground. They looked up and saw a pink earth pony with a frizzy mane.
"I just moved here and I know almost everypony, but I haven't met you guys yet. What's your names ?"
"Uhg.. I'm Rainbow Dash and this is Fluttershy."
"Hi Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy ! You want to go to Sugarcube corner ? It's an awesome place. Mr. and Mrs. Cake is letting me stay there. It will be awesome !"
Before they could reply Pinkie picked them up and ran faster than Rainbow could fly. As they sat down they were treated to cupcakes. For about an hour Pinkie talked non stop. Then Rainbow said that they had to go. Pinkie's hair deflated.
"We'll see you tomorrow."
Pinkie's hair popped back up. "Bye guys !"
"Mom, we're home !"
"..."
"Mom ?"
Rainbow walked into the kitchen and soon ran out.
"Dashie ? What's wrong ?"
"Nothing, but we need to get help fast."
"Why ?"
"Just hurry !"
Rainbow and Fluttershy flew to the closest place, which was Applejack's Rainbow ran in saying they needed all they help they can get, she explained to the Apple's what happened, while Fluttershy waited outside. Granny Smith didn't have a bad hip back then, so they got there fast. Rainbow led Granny Smith into the kitchen, not knowing that Fluttershy was following. As they looked into the kitchen there was Posey hardly breathing on the floor. Fluttershy fainted and Applejack, and Rainbow took her to the couch, while Big Mac helped Granny. Fluttershy awoken several hours later.
"What happened ?"
"Well um.." Rainbow tried to explain that Posey was gone.
Fluttershy looked very worried.
"Sugarcube, it ain't easy....but she's gone.."
Fluttershy began to cry and Applejack knew how she felt. Two weeks after Applebloom was born, her parents got into a horrible accident and died. Applebloom crawled up to Fluttershy and patted her head. That got Fluttershy to stop crying for a little bit. It got late and the Apple's had to leave, but Rainbow decided to stay.
"Rainbow, where's your parents."
"My mom died giving birth to me and my dad died near my fourth birthday."
"Where have been living ?"
"With my friend Gilda, her parents have been missing for a long time."
Hours passed as Rainbow and Fluttershy talked about there lives and eventually fell asleep. Fluttershy had a restless night,she kept waking up, or she couldn't get comfortable. She lied down on the floor and thought about life. Every thing was going so fast. She has a girlfriend, that she just met. Her mother had just died. Just every thing was going so fast. She wished it would all just slow down, maybe if it did she could be with her mother. She grabbed a blanket and lied down with Rainbow.
They woke up the next day snuggling. They both jumped back blushing.
"I think I'm just going to grab the paper."
"Um, you do that.."
Rainbow walked outside and saw a grey Pegasus delivering mail.
"Hi Rainbow Dash !"
"Hi Derpy.."
The grey Pegasus flew off and Rainbow grabbed the newspaper. The headline read
"GRIFFON GILDA REUNITED WITH HER PARENTS.".
Rainbow's mouth dropped open. "No way." she thought. "Gilda's parents are alive !"
Rainbow walked in the cottage. "Looks like I'm living with you, now." Rainbow said as she dropped the paper on the table.
"What do you mean ?"
"Read the paper.."
Rainbow walked up stairs, layed on the floor and curled into a ball. Fluttershy walked in and hugged Rainbow.
"Things could always be worse."
Just then a lightning storm started.
"Anything else you want to add to that ?"
Just then Derpy fell against the window and slid down.
"No..."
Rainbow and Fluttershy sat in the corner together.
"Things have been going so fast.
"I know Fluttershy,but things will get better soon."
Fluttershy and Rainbow kissed. Things will get better.
