Doctor Whooves: A Journey

The Doctor finds himself in a new and strange place where he meets the local mail mare and is plunged into an epic tale.

This is my first fanfiction that I wrote. The other two I have uploaded were written after this one, I just didn't upload this one first. The Doctor falls through a strange wormhole while he was regenerating and ends up in Equestria as a pony. He is sucked into an epic story with the local mail mare, Ditzy Doo (Derpy Hooves).

This isn't London

The dark blue TARDIS vwarped into the reality of a forest at night, the leaves gleamed against the moonlight. The doors were flung open and a chestnut colored pony walked out, looking around cheerfully.

"Very colorful, not to hot, not to cold. Bit dark. Definitely springtime. But there are different birds, flowers, scents and smells. By god! This is a bit odd for London, I wonder what region of England I cra-" He began, but was interrupted when a grey Pegasus with a blonde mane dropped in front of his face, upside down.

"HI THERE!" She said with glee.

"AH! You startled me. More to the point you're a Pegasus.... And you're TALKING! This is fascinating! Though I think I may have overshot London by a bit..." The Doctor rambled.

"You sure are a strange pony." She said with a simple smile.

"Well, I can't argue with.... Wait.... Did you just say that I was a pony?" He asked, puzzled.

"Yep!" She said with a giggle and a large smile.

"What? Last I checked I was a homosapien..." The Doctor said as he furrowed his brow in confusion.

"Homo-what-now?" She asked.

"Oh, you know. Two legs, two arms, hands, feet, fingers, toes. Let me just sit down and..." The Doctor sat on his haunch's and raised his hooves up in front of him. "Oh dear! I AM a pony! I wonder what strange wormhole the TARDIS went through while I was regenera-AHH!" The doctor hit his chest with his hooves and fell to the ground.

"What's wrong?!" The technicolored Pegasus asked worriedly and flew to his side.

"Stay back!" He painfully warned. The pain seemed to subside, then, like a miracle, a small stream of glittering golden light escaped his mouth. The young Pegasus stared in awe as the stuff drifted into the sky and dissipated.

"How... What was that?" She asked, amazed.

"Regeneration energy, but nevermind it. I'm starving! What do you ponies eat around here?" He asked.

"OH! We have Hay fries, Sunflower sandwiches, sweet grass, sour grass, SPICY grass, and my favorite of all time, MUFFINS!" She said, doing a back-flip in the air with glee. The Doctor let out a light chuckle as they walked through the woods.

"Sounds great! Say, do you have a name my dear new companion?" He asked.

"Com..Panion?" She asked as she furrowed her brow in confusion.

"Yes, your name. Like what other ponies call you, your title since birth." He said.

"Yes, yes. I know what a name is." She said with a giggle. "Ditzy, Ditzy Doo. But everypony calls me Derpy, Derpy Hooves!" She said and smiled again. The chestnut ponies ears perked up and he burst out laughing. "Whats so funny?" She asked.

"Every... hehehe... Ever... hahahaha! Sorry, I... seem to have the giggles!" He took a deep breath, "Every. Pony... BWHAHAHAHAHA!" He cracked up and fell down to he ground, holding his sides and rolling around in the lush grass.

"You're such a weird pony!" She said, laughing. The Doctor stopped and smiled. He propped his head on his hoof and looked at Derpy.

"Care to show me around? I would love to see how this pony society works!" He asked brightly, he seemed all to be everything but sad, yet Derpy caught a look of ancient loneliness in his eyes.

"Sure! Follow me!" She said ecstatically and the both got up. They began to walk through the woods and where walking for a while before the Doctor noticed the same tree... for the third time.

"Are we lost?" He asked.

"No.... hehe... Just a little navigation issue." She lied with a slight embarrassment.

"Yes! I do believe the term is lost! We are completely and utterly lost!" He said with an odd cheer to his voice.

"Yeeeeaaahhh." Derpy dragged out with worry. Then the leaves rustled, yet there was no breeze. There was only a slight sound of static. The Doctor froze mid-step and Derpy turned to him. "Doctor? Whats wrong?" She asked.

"Ditzy, I haven't said this in a long time, but, RUN!" He said very seriously, but chuckled the last part.

"What? Why!?" She asked, fear creeping into her voice.

"Just run and don't you dare look back! Understood?" He said.

"Okay!" She said with confused fear, if this strange pony was afraid, she felt that she would need to be afraid too. They both took off, running aimlessly through the bushes and trees as the static filled their ears. "I've got an idea! Hold on!" Derpy said and flew under the Doctor's torso, hoisting him into the air with her back.

"What are you!" He started at her like she was out of her mind, but then he realized where he was going, up. "Oh, you brilliant Pegasus!" He ecstatically beamed up at his companion. But Derpy was struggling to hold the chestnut stallion up because she wasn't used to carrying much, except of an occasionally large mail bag.

"Thanks... Ugh." She said, grunting.

"Um... Is it possible in this world to have a Unicorn/Pegasus hybrid?" The Doctor asked with a slight worry to his voice.

"A... uh... Alicorn? Yes, there are very few though, its rare. Our two princesses are the most powerful, they raise the sun and the moon. Why?" Derpy asked.

"That's why!" The Doctor said and pointed towards the forest below. Derpy looked down and scanned around, she saw a flash of black and white amongst the thicket.

"Doctor?" Derpy said, the fear coming back, "What was that?"

"Nothing to.... Actually, we might have a problem." He said quickly, "It would be wise to land. Now." He added. Derpy did as she was told, but once the Doctor hit the ground, he dashed.

"Where are you!" Derpy tried to ask.

"To the TARDIS! You fly there, as fast as you can. And whatever you do, DO NOT look behind you!" His voice faded as he ran, a brown blur against the greenery.

"Whoa! He sure is fast." Derpy said in awe, but as she hovered there, the static in her ears grew louder. She noticed this and remembered what the Doctor had said, she flew as fast as she could, toward the strange blue box called the TARDIS.

She could tell that somepony... or something... was following her. With the way the Doctor had talked, she didn't think whatever it was wanted a muffin. She flew faster than ever before. The TARDIS soon came into view. She quickly flew to it and began to beat on the door, the static muffling out almost all other sounds.

"DOCTOR! OPEN THE DOOR!" She screamed as she pounded on the blue doors. She could barely hear herself think now due to the intensity of the static. She felt a strong presence behind her and turned her head to face whatever evil lay there. The blonde maned Pegasus let out a gasp of pure terror with a little surprise mixed in, but was otherwise, speechless.

Looking upon her malevolently was a very tall Alicorn stallion! Its pure white coat glimmered in the pale moonlight. But only its face and hooves showed, because the rest of it was covered in a pitch black suit, welcoming her into an eternity of darkness. A crimson tie that was tucked in so it would not drag against the ground, and a white undershirt that was a little bit darker than its owner. But what was truly terrifying to Derpy was that he had long, wavy tentacles protruding from his back, reaching to steal her away.

She pressed her back against the TARDIS's doors. The Alicorn flung its wings out and a horrifying noise escaped them. The kind of sound a lost filly that was alone in the dark, calling for her mother would make. The sound of pure terror made Derpy's hair rise on the back of her neck and sent shivers down her spine. A deep, grinding voice was heard echoing throughout the forest.

"Come with me, child." It hissed. Derpy tried to scream, but was cut off when the TARDIS doors flung inward, causing Derpy to tumble back.

"Not today!" The Doctor yelled as he slammed the doors back shut. A ferocious roar echoed through the entire forest as the TARDIS dematerialized.

Tombstones Never Sleep

In the library of Ponyville, a lavender Unicorn mare was rambling to herself about the rules of something or another. A baby purple dragon with green spikes was following in her wake, picking the occasional book from the ground.

"Twiiiiliiiight," The dragon whined, "Can I have my reward now?"

"Not if you keep whining like that." She said in a sharp, motherly tone. "Beside, I need to do more research." She said airily, withholding a shining emerald from the small dragon.

"But-" He tried to protest.

"No buts, Spike." She said and trotted past the M's bookshelf. But then something caught her eye. Her horn glowed a mystical purple and then a book levitated from the bookshelf and to her while it was covered in a haze of the purple light. She plunked it down on a desk in the middle of the library and it stopped glowing.

"Myths And Legends Of Equestria." Twilight read aloud. She flipped it open to a random page. "Oh, wow. That looks beautiful, yet terrifying!"

"What is it?" Spike said and curiously hopped up on a small chair next to Twilight. "Whoa, that looks awesome! Does it have a name?" He asked.

"The Slenderpony." She breathed out in awe.

VWARP! VWARP! VWARP!

"What was..?" Spike started to say, but was cut off as a large blue box crashed through the ceiling, punching through the top of the tree and knocking over every book. Except the one Twilight was reading, its pages never even turned. A chestnut stallion with a spiked, brown mane crawled out of the box, which was still right-side up, and he looked up at the glaring purple unicorn, smiling.

"Hello there!" He greeted with friendliness. "I'm sorry, I do believe that I just destroyed your library! What a horrible waste of valuable information! And nothing phases you ponies does it?"

"What do you mean?" She asked with irritation in her voice.

"Oh. You seem different... Well, a random blue box containing two ponies crashes into your library and you're not even startled in the slightest?" He asked with curiosity.

"What do you mean 'different'? And well, when you live around ponies like Pinkie Pie, you get use to surprises." She said.

"Tsk! Spoilers. Pinkie Pie?" He questioned "Wait! You're a Unicorn!" He exclaimed ecstatically, "This is so exciting! I guess the humans were onto something after all..." The Unicorn just rolled her eyes at the pony before her then furrowed her brow in confusion.

"You haven't met Pinkie yet?" She asked, then her eyes widened. "Wait, you said TWO ponies? Where is the other one?"

"Right here! Hey Twilight, sorry about your house..." Ditzy said apologetically.

"Ditzy?" Twilight asked with puzzlement.

"Yep!" Derpy responded with an affirmative nod and smile.

"Care to explain why HE," She glared over at the Doctor, "Crashed into my house?"

"Hehe... Funny story, actually." The Doctor started before Ditzy noticed a book in the center of the room, untouched by disaster. She walked over to it curiously then saw the picture printed upon the page and screamed in horror, falling back onto the floor.

"Doctor!" She frantically called out.

"Ditzy! What is it?" He asked with the tone of a very worried father as he rushed to her side. She was now pointing at the picture on the book with a terrified expression. She was virtually frozen with fright. Only one word escaped her mouth.

"Slender." She breathed out. The Doctors demeanor changed quickly, from worried father, to serious business.

"What?" He said, getting up and running over to the book to see what he hoped not to. He furrowed his brow in a worried confusion.

"I'm lost here." Twilight said, breaking the silence. "Why does a myth of Equestria have you two so frightened?" She asked with a look of puzzlement.

"I...It attacked us in the Everfree Forest a few days ago..." She said while shaking in frightened memories. "I...I...I almost didn't make it..." She broke down and began to cry profusely. "I would've died if the Doctor hadn't been there though... He saved my life." She said then turned her head, looking at him through the tears. "Thank you Doctor, thank you so much." The Doctor smiled warmly and knelled beside her.

"You're welcome Ditzy, you're welcome." He said. Ditzy flung her arms around him and sobbed into his shoulder. "Ditzy..." The Doctor said in a warm and comforting tone while patting her on the back. "Don't cry, its all over. It will be okay." He added as he stroked her mane with his hoof, lulling her to a gentle sleep in his hooves. "Midnight Twinkle?" He whispered. "May I see that book?"

"It's Twilight Sparkle." She whispered with annoyance. "And yes, you may." She then used her magic to float the book over to the Doctor, whose eyes were now wide with ecstatic surprise.

"H-How did you do that?" He asked in awe.

"Magic?" She whispered in confusion. "I'm a Unicorn and the element of magic, it's kind of my thing." He looked to the top of her head and a grin from ear to ear spread across his face.

"Looks like those humans were onto something after all!" He said, laughing.

"What? Who are you?" She asked.

"I'm The Doctor." He said and began to read the page.

"Thanks, because that TOTALLY clears things up." She said with as much sarcasm as she could muster.

"AHA!" He exclaimed, clearly finding the information that he wanted.

"SHHH!" Twilight urgently hushed. Ditzy shifted positions, rolling over on her back.

"Oh, right. She has had a long day." He whispered. "Could you look after her while I track the Slenderpony down?" Derpy shifted again, this time into a lounging position.

"Sorry, it looks like you're stuck with her." Twilight said, giggling at the circumstance. Then there was a random movement in the rubble.

"Twiiiiii." The moving rubble groaned in a voice that struck Twilight instantly.

"Spike?" She asked in an urgent voice or worry.

"A little help?" He asked. Twilight used her magic to quickly levitate the wreckage off of Spike.

"Are you okay?" Twilight asked him worriedly. Spike has been her best friend since she had hatched him from his egg. She was just a filly then, though she was now a full grown mare and he was still a baby dragon. But that's how dragons age. Very slowly. They grew up together, developing a bond like a friendly brother and sister. She had taught him to walk, talk, read, and write. She even helped him develop the social skills that she never had.

"I'm fine." He said stubbornly. He grunted as he got up and brushed off the dust.

"A DOMESTIC dragon?!" The Doctor exclaimed in awe. "That's brilliant!"

"Shut it!" Said Twilight quietly, yet stern. "As 'brilliant' as it may be to you, you have a sleeping pony in your arms. And she definitely needs a break. If you want to say something, then whisper." She whispered intensely.

"Yes... Sorry." He said lightly. "I need to go. Look after Ditzy while I'm gone. This isn't a debate either." He added seriously, making his last point get across.

"What? Where are you going?" Twilight asked as the Doctor lightly slipped out from under Derpy, cushioning her head with the papers of a nearby book.

"Away, but don't worry. I will be back, I promise." He said warmly, trying to comfort her.

"Oh no you don't!" She whispered harshly. Suddenly, a pink, fluffy maned pony sprung up from a random pile or messy books.

"Yeah!" She said, "I haven't seen Derpy like that since..." She trailed off as her light and happy tone darkened.

"Since?" Twilight asked. The Doctor was still trying to recover from the mild heart attack he had just experienced.

"Tombstone?" Twilight questioned.

"I take it that she is Pinkie Pie?" The Doctor asked while slightly hyperventilating.

"How did you know? Are you psychic?! Because that would be sooo cool!" Pinkie said quickly and brightly.

"Something like that..." He said.

"Back to the subject at hoof..." Twilight started.

"Hand." The Doctor interrupted in a corrective voice.

"What is that?" She asked.

"Oh right, ponies, nevermind." He said.

"Ooookayyy..." Said Twilight. She turned back to Pinkie Pie. "Who is Tombstone?" She asked.

"Ditzy's old husband..." Said Pinkie, her tone darkening again. "He went into the Everfree Forest a year ago and just... Never came back. We sent search parties and looked for months. We never even found a body." The Doctor's eyes saddened, once again looking endlessly lonely.

"I can't be her 'Tombstone'." He said sadly.

"But why? You two are so cute together!" Pinkie said ecstatically.

"If I become her Tombstone metaphorically, I will become her Tombstone literally." He said darkly.

"Was that a threat?" Twilight asked intimidatingly, putting a hoof forward.

"No... It was a warning." He said grimly. Twilight softened her stance and became less tense.

"I don't care..." Ditzy's cute voice rang out among their whispers. She had awoken earlier and eavesdropped on the whole conversation. "I haven't felt this way in a long time... And I like the feeling... Tombstone use to lull me to sleep like that..." She said and memories made her smile weakly through the tears forming in her eyes.

"No, Ditzy, you don't understand." The Doctor said.

"You aren't suppose to understand certain things, Doctor." She said with a much larger meaning to those words. Then a look of confusion passed across her face. "That... Thing... Do you think it took my Tombstone?" She asked.

"I'm sorry..." The Doctor apologized because he knew it had. Ditzy began a slow and saddened walk to the TARDIS.

"I'll be waiting..." She trailed off as she entered the blue box, slamming the door behind her. A dead silence ensued the event until Pinkie smashed through the awkward tension.

"You're going to have your hands full with that one. She's the sweetest mare that I know, besides Fluttershy, of course, but she is stubborn." Pinkie said.

"Yes... Wait... Did you just say hands?" The Doctor asked.

"Yes, why?" Pinkie asked with a bright, oblivious tone.

"But you're a... pony!" He said in surprise, "How do you know what hands are?" He asked.

"Simple!" She said and put on a huge smile while striking the air with a hoof. "I just heard you say it in context earlier and just decided that was what you used instead of hooves wherever you came from!" She said brightly.

"How did you know that I wasn't from this world?" He asked, dumbfounded.

"Wait-" Twilight Sparkle tried to intervene and ask, but was quickly interrupted by Pinkie Pie.

"Big blue box, strange words, weird device in your..." She then looked up and scrunched her nose up like she was doing math in her head.

"What are you-?" The doctor tried to say but was cut off.

"Top left pocket!" Pinkie exclaimed.

"How did you know about my sonic?" Asked the Doctor in awe.

"My tail's a twitchin'!" She said quickly.

"What does that have to do with-?" The Doctor started but was cut off as his Sonic Screwdriver fell to the floor.

"Pinkie, I didn't know that you could predict when and where an object would fall!" Twilight said with amazement.

"Neither did I! Until earlier tonight," Pinkie exclaimed, " A big blue thingy, which I'm guessing is that," She said and pointed in the direction of the TARDIS, "Fell from the sky. Ever since then, I have been more Pinkie-keen then usual!" She said, smiling.

"Earlier tonight?" Twilight questioned. "Ditzy said you guys had arrived a few days ago and were attacked..." She said, furrowing her brow in confusion.

"Wibbily Wobbily, Timey wimey." The Doctor said with a knowing smile, like he had answered this question many times before. Then his eyes widened in happiness. "YES! Brilliant! I have to go!" He said and ran to the TARDIS. "Thank you, Dusklight Shimmer!" He flung the doors open and ran inside.

"IT'S TWILIGHT SPARKLE!" She called after him in annoyance.

Back inside the TARDIS, Ditzy hit her back against one door and slid down. She shrunk into the fetal position and started to cry her eyes out. The silence was only pierced by her sobs and the warm hum of the ship, as if it were trying to comfort her.

"Why did Pinkie have to bring up Tombstone..." She said after she had calmed down a little bit. "No..." She said to herself, "That's wrong... She didn't know that I was awake, I can't blame her..." She said with sadness. The door beside her was flung open, startling her slightly. The Doctor hopped in and looked down at her with a bright smile.

"Ditzy, wipe those tears away. You don't want to look like that when you see Tombstone again!" She perked up at him and stopped crying instantly.

"W-What?" She said in shock. The Doctor flipped a switch or two rather quickly then paused and looked over at Ditzy.

"Allons-y!" He said and then pulled a large lever. The TARDIS rattled and moaned. He started laughing, but Ditzy was still confused.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"We're getting your real Tombstone back!" The Doctor said as the TARDIS creaked to a stop. He galloped over and flung the doors open.

The Impossible Choice

Tombstone's orange mane whipped around in the wind. Gotta get back! Have to escape! Must get home to Ditzy and Dinky! These thoughts raced through his head as the sickly black trees' streaked past his rusty coat. Can't let them down! Can't! His mind roared with deafening static as the monstrosity closed in. Then his hoof caught on a root and he came crashing down. He heard an ear piercing crack and then the unbearably agonizing pain rushed through him. He cried out in tortured misery for only a second.

He was silenced as he slowly strained his head around to see a majestic Alicorn stallion. Its onyx horn glistened in the moonlight and its white coat shone a pearl color. Static radiated from its form as he tried to cry out, but its wings flew out from its body and the sound of pure terror flowed from them. Tombstone's eyes widened as the tentacles expanding from the creatures back enclosed him. He awoke in a dark and dampened cave that was filled with the bones of other ponies. He even spotted a few filly skulls, which sickened him even more.

That thing that had attacked him was nowhere to be seen. He looked to his left and saw shackles there. They contained a stinking half decayed pony, decomposers eating away at the grey coat. He groaned and leaned over involuntarily, vomiting all over the carcass then blacked out.

The Doctor stepped out into the murky area.

"I have come to a conclusion!" The Doctor announced as one hoof sunk into the bog. "We are in a swamp!"

"Probably Everfree Swamp..." Ditzy said with a hint of fear creeping into her voice. She stepped out and looked around. "Where is Tombstone?"

"I don't know. Lets ask the locals." He said with a wink. "And by the way, why are there bubbles on your flank?" He asked curiously. Derpy went from a light grey to a crimson red on her face.

"W-were y-y-you looking at m-my flank?!" She stuttered out in embarrassment.

"What?! No! Well I mean yes, but no!" The Doctor stammered out with a blush across his face. "I just want to know what the image on everyponies flank means!" He got out, then giggled slightly. "I said everypony, hehe!"

"Oh..." Ditzy said, slightly crestfallen that her crush wasn't paying that kind of attention to her. The crimson faded from each of their faces. "It's called a cutie mark, you have one too." She said as the Doctor spun around, trying to find it. She giggled at him. "It tells a pony his/her special talent." She added brightly, being cheered up by his behavior.

"Mines an hourglass!" He said excitedly. "Seems appropriate!" He smiled a goofy grin. "But what does yours mean? Are you good at making bubbles?" He asked jokingly.

"N-no... Not exactly... I really don't like reliving that story..." She said depressingly as a small tear ran down her face. The Doctor furrowed his brow in confusion, but found it in the best interest to leave this one alone. He turned towards the swamp.

"Hey! You! Big baaad Slenderpony!" He yelled into the empty bog. A drum beat began. Ditzy froze in shock.

"What do you thing you are doing?!" She screamed at him.

"Asking the locals." He said simply.

"Well... STOP!" She yelled at him.

"It will be fine," He said, turning to her and putting on his warm and comforting smile that could calm and Ursa-major. "I hope..." He added in a mutter as he turned back around to the swamp. A faint static attacked their ears. It sent chills down Ditzy's spine, along with the cold night air.

"Come and get us! Ripe, fresh ponies!" He said, trying to taunt and lure the massive Alicorn to him. The static grew more and more intense as the Slenderpony sped towards them. The static echoed throughout the swamp as the Doctor kept throwing insults and taunting it. Ditzy nervously shuffled her hooves, barely able to think. With a roar, the tall, majestic Alicorn screeched to a halt in front of Ditzy.

"My preciouss losst preeey..." The deep tone growled with tease. "You have found your way baaaack." Ditzy whimpered in fear, pure terror radiating from her shaking form.

"NO!" The Doctor yelled. The Slenderpony turned sharply to him. "I am the one you want! I'm the one that was insulting you and-" The Doctor was cut off as a pitch black tentacle wrapped around his neck and picked him up out of the muck. Ditzy shrieked as they dematerialized into thin air, leaving her alone and frozen in shock in the middle of The Everfree Swamp.

"D-Doctor?" She called and received the same answer she predicted, silence. She ran to the TARDIS, determination in her face. "Doctor, Tombstone, don't worry, I'm coming!" She galloped up to the center console and spoke confidently to it. "I hope you can hear me! Help! Locate The Doctor!" Much to her surprise, a small screen came out from under the console and displayed a picture of a damp cave filled with bones of multiple ponies.

On a far wall, the Doctor was shackled next to a rust colored, orange maned stallion. Her heart exploded in joy. "He is alive!" He exclaimed happily and used her wings to perform a back-flip. A small compass like thing slid out from a compartment on the console. She took it and it beeped twice and pointed an arrow to the exit of the TARDIS. "Thank you TARDIS!" She said and bolted out of the door, kicking it shut on the way out. In no time she had reached the damp cave. She heard voices from inside.

"How long have you been here?" A voice that she knew well asked.

"It's becoming harder to tell, but I believe three days." Said a weaker, but recognizable Trottingham accent.

"Wow... Have any family?" The Doctor asked. There was a slight pause.

"Yea-yeah. A wife and filly... Might never see them again..." Tombstones voice said sadly. "I would cry, if I could find anymore tears..." Ditzy looked through the opening and saw Tombstone, as weak as he looked, he looked nonetheless.

"Tombstone!" Ditzy shouted and flew to them in a flash. She hugged the Doctor quickly and then rushed over and embraced Tombstone for much longer. A tear of joy crept into her eye. "I thought that I would never see you again!" She said, weeping and nuzzling her husbands tangled mane.

"D-Ditzy?" He asked in shock, as if he were hallucinating. She pulled back and looked him in the eyes with so much happiness it could have melted the shackles from him.

"Yes, its me!" She said joyfully.

"Ditzy? How did you find us?" The Doctor asked. She looked over to him and smiled.

"Your TARDIS loves you more than you think." She said with a wink. The Doctor smiled.

"Check my top left pocket and get the device that is inside. Set it to 2000 metal." He said quickly. "There should be a button on the side for that and then point it towards the shackles and press the little button on the other side." Ditzy nodded and nudged her cute little muzzle into his coats pocket.

She grabbed the Sonic Screwdriver in her mouth and spat it into her hoof. She used the other hoof to adjust the settings. She pointed it at the shackles containing Tombstone and pressed the button on the other side. The screwdriver emitted a small wub sound and glowed a dark blue at the tip. Tombstone winced as he fell free from his clanking chains. His arms fell to his side. He yelped as his dislocated hoof hit the ground.

A distant drum beat was heard. This only spiked Ditzy's adrenaline farther as she did the same thing to the Doctors shackles, he was up instantly, but Tombstone stayed on the ground.

"Right, yes. Well... Run!" He said with a smile.

"I-I can't!" Tombstone said urgently.

"What? Why not?" The Doctor and Ditzy asked at the same time, The Doctor slightly disappointed and whiny while Ditzy had sounded worried.

"I-I tripped in the woods when that thing was chasing me. I dislocated my hoof when I fell." He said sheepishly.

"You know how to pick em', don't you Ditzy." The Doctor said.

"Oi! Who the hell are you anyways?" He asked with annoyance.

"Both of you stop it!" Ditzy yelled, the static began to assault their eardrums. She walked over and looked Tombstone in the eyes, knelling down next to him. "On three, I'm going to make it better." She said with a warm and gentle smile. "One-" And without more of a warning, she snapped his hoof back up into its socket. There was a fresh wave of agony and then sweet relief.

"Thank you." He said and flung himself forward, hugging Ditzy tightly. "I missed you so much." He said. The static increased even more.

"I missed you too, Tombstone... But now is the time for running!" She said.

"Right!" He said and straightened up.

"Run!" The Doctor shouted. The Doctor and Tombstone galloped ahead as Ditzy took to the air and flew above them. The static was almost deafening.

"It's gaining on us, Doctor!" Ditzy yelled down at him urgently.

"I know! Just keep trucking!" He yelled at her. Brief confusion flashed across her face, but she didn't have time to think about what a trucking was. A tentacle shot forth to grab Ditzy's hoof, but missed and hit a rock above, making it hang precariously ahead of the Doctor. The tentacle swept back released a stalactite, sending it falling towards Tombstone.

"TOMBSTONE!" Ditzy screamed at him in warning. He looked up with alarm and saw the stalactite. He jumped to the side and dodged it just in time, but was left with a nasty cut on his flank. The rock above the Doctor fell and Ditzy once more called out in warning. The Doctor evaded the rock very nicely. They blew out of the back of the cave and galloped in the direction of the TARDIS.

"Book it guys!" Tombstone shouted, who was ahead of both the other ponies, despite the sore leg.

"How is he ahead of us?!" The Doctor shouted at Ditzy.

"Adrenaline does amazing things!" Tombstone answered for her. Then tried to laugh, but was cut off as he tripped. A deafening crack echoed through the muck. The Doctor tried to stop and help, but his momentum drug him farther than he wanted, slamming him into a tree that knocked him out. Ditzy screeched to a halt, an even distance between both the Doctor and Tombstone. The Slenderpony roared to a stop of The Doctor. Its horn then glowed a bloody red, levitating the stalactite over Tombstone's head and pointing a black tentacle towards the Doctors chest.

"You took my foood." The menacing tone rang out. "Now, I do love gamesssss" It said tauntingly. "Here are the rulesss. You must choose between your best friend and your loverrrr. The one that you choosssse shall be ssssspared. The other shall be killlled!" It said evilly.

"What?!" Tombstone cried. The Slenderpony lowered the stalactite closer to him.

"No, you are not allowed to talk to herrr." It said tauntingly. A tear of anger crept down Ditzy's face.

"Why?" She asked in cold fury. There was a pause.

"WHY!?" She screamed up at it.

"Because, it's fuunnnn." It said with an evil tease.

"You're a monster!" She yelled at it.

"Why, yessss, I believe that I am." It replied. She lowered her head, sobbing at the decision that she must make.

"Tiiic Toooock." It said malevolently.

"Ditzy! Choose Tombstone!" Was all the Doctor, who had awoken a few seconds earlier, got to say before the Slenderpony knocked him back out. Ditzy then looked up, a fiery confidence in her eyes.

"I choose..."

"I choose the Doctor!" She said and then looked at Tombstone apologetically.

"You may have some final wordsss with your loverrr." It said.

"Tombstone... I-" Ditzy tried to say.

"Don't." He interrupted. "I still love you, and I always will. But why? Why him over me?" A small tear found its way to Ditzy's eyes.

"I... I... I... The answer would kill you...." She said sadly.

"I'm a dead pony already." He said grimly.

"I'm sorry... But I love him..." She said, tears staining her face.

"I....I... I understand. J-Just make sure he takes care of... of Dinky" He finally choked out of the tears in a devastating tone, the tone of acceptance.

"Timessss uuuup!" The dark tone taunted. Ditzy backed away slowly towards the Doctor's unconscious form.

"I'm so, so sorry..." Ditzy whispered at the ground more for her comfort than her husbands, who could no longer hear her. She looked up at Tombstone, the Slenderpony towering above him. He closed his eyes and mouthed a few final words. Goodbye, Dinky and Ditzy, I love you. Then the sharp stalactite plunged through Tombstones chest. He let out a grunt of sudden agony, then nothing. Ditzy exploded into a rain of tears and buried her face in the Doctor's coat as a malevolent and grinding laugh faded into the distance. Soon, no sound was heard in the lonely swamp, save for Ditzy's saddened sobs.

The doctor awoke in a soft bed, looking around as he realized that he was in a library, Twilight's to be exact.

"What hap-" He started, but then his eyes shot wide as the memories flooded back into his now conscious mind. "Derpy!!" His voice echoed her nickname for the first time, making a stack of books down the stairs fall over, but he didn't care, he was pissed. He shot up from the covers and jumped the railing at the top, landing on the floor below him with a thud that startled a lavender unicorn that he almost squished.

"Doctor! Wait!" She called urgently.

"Not now, Afternoon Glimmer!" He yelled as he burst through the door to the bright outside world.

"It's Twilight. Sparkle!" She shouted back at him then shook her head. He galloped down the road, shouting Ditzy's nickname at the top of his lungs. Other ponies gave him strange and scared looks. He aimlessly ran until a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane flew down and halted him.

"Whoa! Why are you looking for Derps?" She asked with a tomboyish voice.

"Why do you care?" He snapped back. The cyan mare put a hoof forward and looked at him competitively.

"Somepony's angry. Do you know who I am? I'm Rainbow Dash!" She exclaimed, standing up on her hind legs and putting her hooves on her haunches. She flared her wings out for effect. "The best, fastest, and most extreme flier in Ponyville and maybe all of Equestria!" She said cockily, "And local town hero." She added smugly. The Doctor looked at the pegasus and smirked, figuring out exactly how to get away from her.

"Well, from where I stand, you look and sound like a selfish, egotistical show off who can only talk big." He said. Anger flared within Rainbow Dash, a spark lighting in her eye.

"What did you just say?" She asked rhetorically. "I can clear those skies in ten seconds flat!" She said, clearly full of herself.

"Then go on! Do it." He said. She shot up and soared through the air, cutting sharp and bucking the puffy clouds out of existence. Her multicoloured tail created a majestic rainbow as it flowed through the remaining mist of the clouds. The sky was clear quickly. She floated down, eyes closed in cockiness.

"See? What did I tell you," She said as she opened her eyes. "ten... seconds... flat..." She trailed off as the chestnut earth pony was no where to be seen. "Oh Celestia, damn it!" She exclaimed in exasperation and stamped her hoof on the ground. Nearby a mother gasped and pulled her colt closer to her side, trotting a little bit faster. "Oh, heh heh. Sorry about that." She called to the mother, who just ignored the apology.

The Doctor aimlessly galloped along the streets, away from that pegasus, and to find his. His original adrenaline faded as he slowed down, gasping for air while black nipped at the edge of his sight and began to overtake his entire field of vision. He stopped completely and blinked several times to clear his eye sight, but to no avail. He hit the ground hard and the impact knocked him unconscious.

He awoke in a small hut. He blinked his eyes a few times, trying to unblurClear[/red] his vision.

"Ugh... Ditzy..." He weakly groaned.

"Ahhh, so you're awake." A foreign voice rang out. "Of you, I'm not sure what to make." She rhymed. The Doctor rolled his head over and saw a zebra walking over to him.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"A Timelord so very far away from his natural place. What brings you to this far reach of space?" She asked. The Doctor furrowed his brow in confusion.

"How do you know what I am?" He asked. The zebra chuckled slightly.

"You are not the first, but you maybe the last. I know all of your past." She rhymed. "The one before you talked a lot from where he came. He spoke with only pride and no shame."

"Do you remember his name?" The Doctor asked.

"No, I can not say that I do. I'm sorry that I don't have the information for you." She said.

"I need to get going. My ex-companion is in a lot of trouble." He said, emphasizing the word ex. He got up from the bed and headed towards the door.

"I'm sorry to hear that." She said. The Doctor stopped.

"You didn't rhyme that time." He said and silently cursed himself for the accidental one.

"I did not need to, I know the severity of being in trouble with a pony like you." She said. He nodded and walked out of the hut, grabbing his trench coat on the way out.

The Doctor threw the doors to the library open and spotted Twilight putting books up.

"Where is she? I've had enough today, spare me the excuses." He said with a tone that said he was in no mood for games.

"I'm right here." A cute voice sounded. Ditzy hovered down from the stairwell.

"Have you been here the whole time?" He asked. She simply nodded.

"I tried to tell you, but you wouldn't listen to me." Twilight interjected. The Doctor ignored her and continued talking to Ditzy.

"Why?" He asked. Ditzy remained silent, looking down to the floorboards.

"Why?!" He snapped suddenly, making Ditzy jump a little.

"Because, she loved you, nimrod." Said a cyan pony who floated down from the staircase airily.

"Now, Rainbow. Ain't no need fer harsh words." A thick southern American accent cut the air as a tan earth pony with a straw coloured mane walked in from the back.

"I can talk for myself..." Ditzy said as a tear fell down through a crack in the floorboards. "No... no, no, no! I won't cry! Not again..." She exclaimed.

"Ah, sugercube... Cry if ya need to, it helps." The earth pony said.

"No... No... This always happens... Why does this always happen!" The Doctor cried out in anger.

"What?" Rainbow Dash asked, now interested as she landed on a nearby bookcase. A flash came from outside and the thunder rolled across the sky. The Doctor ignored her.

"Ditzy... I'm so, so sorry. But we can't be together." He said. Rainbow flew down suddenly and looked him in the eye with anger when Ditzy had burst into tears.

"You two 'can't be together'?" She mocked his voice in the quote as thunder shook the library.

"No... We can't..." He answered.

"That would have been a lot more useful information earlier when Derps was choosing!" She said angrily. She started prodding him in the chest with her hoof, making him move back with every shove. The Doctor just took it, he thought that he deserved it.

"Who. Do. You. Think. You. Are!" She exclaimed, the last push sending him out of the door and into the mud and rain. He grunted as the wind was knocked out of him. A small wub was heard echoing from his pocket and then a large flash was seen, followed by a white-hot bolt of lightening striking him in the chest. He cried out in pain as all of the ponies looked on in horror, Ditzy only gasped and buried her head in Twilight's coat.

"Rainbow! What've ya done!?" The southern pony yelled.

"I... I didn't mean too... It was an accident." She said on the verge of tears, realizing that she had just killed somepony.

"I'm fine!" He said painfully. Ditzy flew over in hope and helped him back inside. She lay him down on Twilight's rug.

"Um... Not to be rude, but how are y'all still alive after that?" Applejack asked.

"By Celestia!" Twilight exclaimed. All of the ponies began to talk at once, producing a terrible cacophony of panic and amazement. The Doctor held up a hoof and everypony instantly hushed.

"I'm glad that still works." He muttered and then grimaced in pain, grunting as he looked at Ditzy, who's eyes were wandering aimlessly.

"Ditzy... Ditzy Doo... The most amazing mare..." He said with a pained smile. "Everypony makes mistakes. And I think I'm getting use to this pony lingo." He chuckled lightly, but then coughed heavily. "To bad I might not remember it... Or you for that matter."

"What do you mean?" Ditzy asked urgently.

"I will survive this if that's what you're worried about... But only by regeneration, which means that I will change my form, I will no longer be the pony before you. I may even loose my memories of this past life... I'm so sorry, but I can give you one last kindness." He said. "Ditzy, come here." Ditzy moved to him, walking slowly. She came to a stop at his side.

"Yes Doctor, what is-" She was cut off by his warm lips. Behind them Twilight was fiercely blushing and shuffling her hooves, Rainbow was making a gagging motion, and Applejack just smiled and removed her stetson(?), putting it to her chest in respect. A tingly golden light flowed from the Doctor to Ditzy, whose mellow yellow eyes had closed. He pulled away, then grimaced in pain again. Ditzy slowly opened her eyes and everypony in the room, except the Doctor and her, gasped in amazement. A grin overcame the pain on the Doctors face.

"Ditzy! Your eyes!" Twilight exclaimed. Ditzy turned to face her.

"You're just now catching on? My eyes have always been like this." She said.

"Nah, sugarcube." Applejack said smiling, still in awe. "Here," She added, handing a small mirror to the mare. "Take a look." Ditzy furrowed her brow in confusion, then grabbed the mirror out of overwhelming curiosity.

"Okay, but I don't see..." She said, flipping it open to reveal a blonde maned pegasus looking at her... with both eyes! She looked over at the Doctor with happy tears. "Thank you..." She said in a shocked sincerity. He grunted and let out a plumb of glittering golden light.

"It's time..." He said grimly. He moved up from the floor, stumbling slightly as he tried to get up. Ditzy caught him as he fell and helped him to his hooves.

"Everypony stand back!" The Doctor warned. He began to glow a warm golden colour as the other ponies took a few hesitant steps back. "I don't know what's going to happen, but in case my memory fades... Goodbye Ditzy." His eyes slammed tightly shut, then light exploded from the doctors head and hooves and his coats colour began to change from a chestnut brown to a bluish grey and wings formed on his back. His face changed too, becoming younger than before and beginning to resemble a twenty year old stallion, instead of his previous thirty-five. The light began to fade as he dropped to his four hooves. His eyes slowly opened his eyes and revealed them to be a shocking electric blue. His hair had also changed, its original brown mo-hawk had turned black with lime green tips and now was a little longer and flowed down into points. He looked around with confusion.

"Doctor?" Ditzy asked hopefully.

"Ponies? That's a new one! Mind telling me where my TARDIS is?" He asked. His voice was now deeper, but still hyper. Ditzy hid her face in Applejack's coat, but the Doctor could tell she was, and had been, crying. "What's wrong my little pony?" He asked with concern.

"Leave it." Twilight said in an unamused tone. "Your TARDIS is in the basement." The Doctor looked at the blonde maned pegasus with worry, but brushed it aside as he turned to the lavender unicorn.

"Okay." He said in defeat. "Where is you basement, exactly." He asked.

"Follow me." She said and trotted down some stairs at the end of the library, the Doctor following in suit. When they reached the TARDIS, they heard Applejack and Rainbow Dash slam the door, which indicated that they were escorting Ditzy back to her home. "She's gone. You can drop the act now." Twilight said.

"What? How did you know?" He asked, dumbfounded.

"Simple, you just told me, but I didn't believe it for a second anyway." She said with a smirk, then changed to a frown. "Why did you do it?" She demanded.

"You really are a clever one." He said and sighed. "I did it to protect her. Companions that fall in love with me tend to have less than happy endings..." He said grimly.

"I see..." Twilight said. "Goodbye, Doctor. Have a nice trip." She added with a hint of sarcasm.

"Oh, I have a feeling that I haven't seen the last of you, Twilight Sparkle." He said with a smile and a wink. He retreated back to the TARDIS and closed the doors behind him. "I'm so, so sorry, Ditzy, I'll never forget you." He said to himself sadly. Then he walked up to the center console and flipped a few switches and threw a lever. The TARDIS vwarped and dematerialized out of existence, leaving a bewildered Twilight Sparkle in the dust to think about what he meant.

"I choose Tombstone!" Ditzy said. If the Slenderpony could smile, it would do so now, and it would so malevolently! It looked down at the Doctor and slapped him with it's hoof.

"Wakey, wakey." It evilly taunted.

"Eggs and bacy?" The Doctor murmured. Ditzy stifled a laugh with Tombstone, though the Slenderpony didn't find it to be that funny. It growled and smacked him again, this time much harder.

"Get up and sssay goodbye!" It hissed as the Doctor rubbed the spot it had made contact with.

"Doctor, I'm sor-" Ditzy tried to apologize, but the Doctor held up a silencing hoof.

"It's okay Ditzy, you chose right." He said with a wink.

"But, I-" She started, but the Doctor held up a hoof, hushing her once more.

"I am going to die here today, but not entirely. Don't worry, just trust me." He said.

"Timesss uuuup!" A deep voice teased. The Slenderpony trotted back up to where they were standing as Ditzy backed away to Tombstone and plunged a tentacle into one of his hearts. He gasped in pain and rolled his head over, fluttering his eyes closed. He looked very much dead, but Ditzy trusted him. She played off the best sadness she could, diving into Tombstones chest and crying softly with any tears she could grasp as the deep and malevolent laughter faded into silence. Ditzy got up and wiped the fake tears away as she walked over to the Doctor's bloody, crumpled form. He coughed a few times and grimaced in pain.

"Are you okay?" Ditzy asked with concern. She was about to say something else, but the Doctor held up his hoof again, once more quieting the mare.

"You have to teach me how to do that." Tombstone laughed. Ditzy shot him a dirty look, but remained silent, fearing another hushing hoof.

"Yeah, later. But now, stand back." He said with another grunt of pain. Ditzy flew backwards and hoisted her lover into the air, he yelped in pain.

"Tombstone!" Ditzy said urgently.

"It's fine! I dislocated my hoof again... heheh." He laughed nervously. Ditzy just sighed in relief.

"I'll fix it when we land." She said and hoisted him atop her back. She looked back over to the Doctor, who was now standing on his back hooves with a warm, golden light coursing through his body. All of the sudden, his eyes slammed tightly shut and his head and fore-hooves exploded into a beautiful show of glittering gold light. Ditzy and Tombstone looked on in amazement and awe as his body began to change. His chestnut brown coat turning a gorgeous hue of light blue with a mix of grey. His face changed from a thirty-five year old stallion to resembling a twenty or so year old. His mane turned black and flowed down, ending in lime green tips. Wings formed on his back and he flung them outward, causing the golden light to fly everywhere like a spewing fountain. The epic spectical soon faded and he slowly hovered back to the ground with his newly acquired wings. When he landed he flapped them twice to rid them of any remaining golden light and fluttered his eyes electrically blue eyes open. He breathed out one last plumb of the light.

"Whoa..." Ditzy and Tombstone both uttered in amazement.

"Right then!" The new Doctors deeper voice echoed. "Where to first?"
