Chapter one
It was late at night. The dark of night covered all of Ponyville, except for one house. One tree house which served as a library, and the mare who lived there kept running around worriedly, looking for all the information she could find- anything useful that could help her defend Equestria. She had been doing this for a week now, ever since she was called urgently by princess Celestia. The princess had explained to Twilight that an oracle from a foreign land had asked to talk to her and Luna, her sister.
The oracle foretold a worrying future for the land… he predicted the coming of an evil so grand not even the power of the elements of harmony would be enough to stop it. Celestia informed Twilight of the issue and asked her to find a way to prevent it. Of course, she accepted the mission and began looking for something that could help, while at the same time she wondered about what kind of danger could fall upon Equestria if she failed to stop it.
She had spent a week searching through all of her books, and the books that could be found in Canterlot’s library, and was exhausted and disappointed at not finding anything. Then she figured it out: if she couldn’t find anything that could help, she would have to make something by herself. She studied the strongest types of magic and discovered something that shocked her; she learned that alicorns’ magic was the strongest to be found, but it was blocked by Equestrian ethics. Ponies lived under a flag of love and peace, and their magic was based on this principles, which kept a lot of it’s potential unused. Twilight thought of a way of using this in her favor, and figured that if she could combine the power of an alicorn with another species that could use it fully, she could save Equestria!
Furthermore, something that could keep Equestria save forever, the last line of defense. No more worries! She thought of it to be a brilliant idea, but had to find a way to accomplish it. She couldn’t raise an alicorn away from Equestrian ethics because it would take too long, and according to princess Celestia, the danger was close. She figured her only option was to bring something else- and create a hybrid. Something with ethics opposite to Equestrian’s and with the power of an alicorn, but what?
She thought it couldn’t be anything from her world, since most of it’s ethics were shared worldwide.
She finally decided to use something from another dimension, and had read about it while looking for a solution. During her research, she had found a spell that could open a portal between dimensions, now she just had to figure out which creature she would bring. She spent the whole night reading about different creatures and dimensions, and she eventually found one. A monkey like creature that was known for the destructive power it held, along with it’s ability to exploit his resources for the greatest benefit. She thought it to be perfect, if she could bring one of these “humans” into her world and then give it the magical power of an alicorn- he would use all the potential it had, and it would be perfect to save Equestria.
She started preparing the transformation spell and used all of her magic to open a portal. It was a really small wormhole that allowed one being to go through it, and after a while an unconscious human man appeared, Twilight strapped the human to an operation table while she recovered her energy.
Once she was rested, she found that the human was awake, confused and scared, but unable to move, Twilight had no time to lose. She had to start the transformation spell, and so she did. She covered the man on a purple light, and he started to mutate. He felt horrible pain as it happened, and as Twilight saw this, she kept telling to herself that is was for a good cause, and that he would stop feeling pain soon.
The spell lasted several hours, and once done both Twilight and the half pony half man creature were exhausted and unconscious. After a while Twilight woke up, and went on to explain to the creature what was happening, still keeping him attached to the table. He seemed to understand the situation and was freed after he finally calmed down. Twilight called the creature Alpha, as he was the first of a new kind, she also explained the mission he was created for: protecting Equestria, using his powers to prevent any evil that could threaten it. She then took it upon herself to teach him how to use magic.
Once she was done, she left him to be. He was sent to protect his new land, and so he did. He thought of his mission for a while, everything that could be a risk to the land had to be eliminated. And he knew what was his first target…
the mare who created him.
She had seen and caused him horrible pain, and did nothing to help. If she could use such a magic, and was as cold as she was, she was the first danger he encountered. And so, he got rid of her.
Once he was done, he thought that maybe all of her kind was the same, that every pony represented a danger to Equestria. Therefore, he began a genocide. One by one, house by house, town by town, no pony was safe anymore, and not even the princesses were capable of stopping him. This creature, what was originally created to protect Equestria from destruction, had brought upon the very destruction that was foretold.
To him, the mightiest creature in Equestrian history, they were the evil. And they had brought about their own demise. To his eyes he had ended the biggest thread that affected the land, and so he could move on to his next target to keep Equestria safe for all of eternity.
