Sweetie Belle's friend at magic camp is an alicorn that can sting ponies with her tail.
Sweetie Belle is totally ready for magic camp-she can feel it in her bones! But her new "friend" is an alicorn that can sting ponies with her lion-like tail at will. Is Aurora's next victim...Sweetie Belle??
As Sweetie Belle walked down the sidewalk from Carousel Boutique,she read a piece of paper.The piece of paper was a ticket inviting her to magic camp! Sweetie Belle was ecstatic when she got the piece of paper in the mail last night. Today was her first day,and she was determined to make a good impression.
When Sweetie Belle approached a bench,she sat down and read the rest of the paper.
" SWEETIE BELLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SWEETIE BELLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!." Sweetie Belle looked around to see who was calling her name.
Her two best friend and the other two-thirds of the Cutie Mark Crusaders,Apple Bloom and Scootaloo,were galloping towards her.
"Applejack signed me up for art camp!! And Scootaloo's teenage sister Honeybuzz signed her up for flying camp! I'm so excited to learn about art!!! My brain is a sponge!!!!!!" said Apple Bloom.
"Are you doing anything special this summer?"asked Scootaloo.
"Yeah.I'm going to magic camp." answered Sweetie Belle."For the unicorns my age,it was either that or ballet camp,and ballet is so not my thing! Well,I guess I'll see you guys later."Sweetie Belle stood up from the bench and walked away.
As Sweetie Belle entered the building,nervous worries filled her mind.'What if I'm the youngest unicorn there?' What if I'm the only one with a short horn?' 'What if everypony there knows how to use telekensis, and I'm the only one who doesn't?'
She walked into the lobby, and a midnight blue unicorn mare with a black mane smiled and shook Sweetie Belle's hoof."Welcome to Starlight's School of Fine Magical Arts! What is your name,my little pony?"
Sweetie Belle half rolled her green eyes. Apparently,Twilight wasn't the only pony who adressed foals as 'her little ponies'.
"I'm Sweetie Belle. Thanks for accepting me in your exclusive magic school." Starlight scribbled down something on a small paper and handed it to Sweetie Belle.
Sweetie Belle implied that the paper was a name tag. She read the name tag. It said,"My name is:SWEETIE BALL." Sweetie Belle rolled her eyes and went out the door. She placed her name tag on her chest.
Starlight called after her."Class starts in fifteen minutes! We're gonna learn how to teleport ourselves to different places around the room,a process the Generation 1 unicorns called 'winking out'! See you in the common room,Sweetie Ball!"
Sweetie Belle walked to the common room and read a book until class started.
Finally,Starlight trotted into the room. She said her welcomes,and then reached into her purse and pulled out a Granny Smith apple.
"See this apple,class?"She asked."I am going to teleport this apple to another side of the room. Watch carefully." Starlight's eyes fluttered shut,and her horn started glowing. She pointed it towards the apple. A blue halo of sparkles appeared around its outside. Five seconds later,the apple disappeared. The whole room gasped. Another five seconds later,the apple reappeared on Starlight's desk.
Starlight went over to the desk and took a big bite of the apple. "Class,please get in line. One by one,you'll be demonstrating winking out with this pencil." She held up a Ticonderoga pencil."
Sweetie Belle was supernervous. Last time she tried to wink out herself,she was a little filly(and was very cute!). She somehow managed to accidentally creat a black hole and got sucked in. The police,an ambulance,and some firefighters had to come to rescue her.
By the time it was Sweetie Belle's(Sweetie Ball's) turn,she was sweating like crazy."M...may I-I please go use the-the-the bathroom??" She stuttered.
"Sure,Sweetie Ball. Take all the time you need." said Starlight.
Sweetie Belle practically ran into the public bathroom.
Three hours later(this is probably the longest bathroom time in history!),Sweetie Belle walked out the bathroom with a book in her hooves. She didn't really use the bathroom,she just read a book for three hours.
"Are you reading Firestar's Quest?" A voice asked.
Sweetie Belle jumped and looked up. Would you guess what she saw?
A black alicorn filly with two swamp green eyes stared at her. She had a lion's tail and Sweetie Belle noticed that she had an eagle claw for her right back hoof. The alicorn grinned profusely at her."The Darkest Hour is my favorite one in Season One. Although,it's the book where Bluestar dies was supersad. I almost was in tears. I cannot believe Tigerclaw let Bluestar die like that all because he wanted power. Oh,BTW,I'm Aurora."
"I'm Sweetie Belle." Sweetie Belle half-heartedly smiled. She was dodgy of this alicorn/griffon. "That was my favorite book,too."
Sweetie Belle and Aurora started to walk to the caf for their lunch period.
"This your first time at magic camp?" asked Aurora.
"Yeah." said Sweetie Belle.
"Same here." Aurora said." I love magic,but it's so hard. Most of the time I rather not do it."
Sweetie Belle smiled for real this time. She was starting to like this Aurora. They could agree on everything.
Sweetie Belle and Aurora sat together at lunch. Aurora told Sweetie Belle that she had THREE older sisters!!!!!
'Omigosh,' thought Sweetie Belle.'I have ONE older sister and there's already so much melodrama. Can you imagine having THREE?? Talk about traumatizing!'
Sweetie Belle sat in her bed that night reading Yellowfang's Secret when Rarity barged into her room like a bad case of the chicken pox.
"Sweetie Belle,dah-ling,dinner's ready! I made chicken marsala. How was magic camp today?"
"It was awesome,Rarity! I made a new friend! Her name's Aurora! She's a griffacorn!!!!
"She's really cool,Rarity. You should really meet her! She likes the Warrior books,too.Gimme five more minutes,and I'll come down for dinner.
The next day at camp was a free style day. The foals were allowed to do any kind of magic that Starlight had taught them at camp.
"BOR-ING!!!" said Aurora." I can't believe you're planning to participate in the stupid free-style. I'm gonna go into the bathroom with a book and read until it's over."
Sweetie Belle felt uncomfortable doing the free-style when Aurora wasn't doing it.
"You know what?" said Sweetie Belle bravely."I'll come with you,Aurora."
Aurora smiled.
The next day,Aurora and Sweetie Belle were at camp.
"Hey,"Aurora nudged Sweetie Belle and whispered,"Do you want to see something super awesome FUNNY??"
"Sure!!" Sweetie Belle whispered in response.
Aurora flicked her lion tail. She looked around the room. Aurora zapped the filly next to her. The poor filly totally hadn't seen it coming. She went into shock and fainted. She tumbled to the ground and knocked out her two front teeth.
Aurora snickered.
"Heh-heh."Sweetie Belle mumbled with a forced smile."That was funny."
On the way home,Sweetie Belle played with a calculator.
Apple Bloom raced down the sidewalk and Scootaloo almost struggled to keep up.
"Hi Sweetie Belle! How's magic camp?!"
"Awesome. How have you been doing in Flight camp,Scoots?"
Apple Bloom answered for Scootaloo."Scootaloo's so agile! She's the best flyer in the class!!!!"
Sweetie Belle immediantly knew that Apple Bloom was lying through her teeth to be nice.
"Show Belle your newest trick,Scoots!"exclaimed Apple Bloom.
Scootaloo jumped in the air and started flipping backwards! A black dot appeared in the sky. It got bigger and bigger,until it was sucking up everything in front of it!! Scootaloo had just created a black hole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After a few seconds later,the black hole stopped.
"OMIGOSH,SCOOTALOO!!!!!" Said Apple Bloom hugging her friend. "You could of been hurt! Thank Celestia you're still alive!
Sweetie Belle had an idea. She would try it out tommorow.
That night Sweetie Belle was huddled in her bed reading Gathering Storm.
"Sweetie Belle! How was magic camp?"
The high-pitched French-accent voice was unmistakeable.
"Rarity,it was horrible!" Sweetie Belle wailed."You know that friend I made? Aurora?"
"Yes.The one I 'had to meet'?"
"Yes.I like her but she..she can go a bit too far sometimes..." Sweetie Belle let her voice trail off.
"I see. That is a pickle.
"But things always seem clearer after a good night's rest. See you in the morning!!" Rarity left and closed the door.
'THAT'S your advice??!!??!!" Sweetie Belle screamed at Rarity in her thoughts.
Today was the last day of camp. For most ponies,the first day would be the day to make a good impression,but for Sweetie Belle,it was the last. Today Sweetie Belle will get the courage to do what's right and confront Starlight about what Aurora did, and she was also gonna do what she was scared of the most: perform magic.
Sweetie Belle entered the lobby and cleared her throat."Uh,Starlight can I talk to you about something??"
"SURE,lil' pony!!!!! What do ya have on your mind?"asked Starlight.
Sweetie Belle started nervously."When you tripped in the common room yesterday,Aurora did it to make me laugh,but it wasn't funny at all."
Starlight stared at her. "Is that so?"
"Yeah..." Sweetie Belle's voice faded away.
Starlight grinned."It's OK,Sweetie Ball. I don't hold a grudge. But thanks alot for playing your piece. That took alot of courage."
It was Sweetie Belle's turned to smile.
"Speaking of courage..." Starlight said with a coy smile on her face."Finally ready to face yo' fears?!"
Sweetie Belle nodded.
"THAT'S WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Starlight shrieked,jumping out of her seat. "You are excused from all classes today. Meet me after telekinses class at two."
"OK".
After telekinses class,Sweetie Belle sat on the ground,waiting for Starlight.
Aurora trotted up to her."Sweetie Belle! I didn't see you in any classes today. Where WERE you??"
Sweetie Belle frowned. "I was PRACTICING. Got a problem with that?"
"Whatever." Aurora said waving a hoof. When she saw a blue filly with messy white hair pass her,she asked her,"Wanna see something SUPER AWESOME FUNNY????!!!!????!!!!????!!!!"
"Sure!" said the filly excitedly.
Aurora glanced at Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Belle wasn't listening to them. She was peacefully drinking her milk without a care. Suddenly,Aurora zapped her!! ALL of Sweetie Belle's milk came out through her nostrils!!!!
"Now wasn't that HILARIOUS?" Aurora asked the filly. They laughed like twisted hyenas.
Sweetie Belle was in shock. Then she remembered how Scootaloo was flapping her wings violently, which made a wind wave, which made a black hole!!!
Sweetie Belle used her horn to propell herself. She started doing backflips. A huge black hole made its way into the sky. It was quite the spectacle when Aurora got sucked into the hole. Sweetie Belle sat on the bench next to her and breathed a sigh of relief. Suddenly,Aurora used her tail to grab onto Sweetie Belle! Sweetie Belle slid off the bench,but held onto it for dear life.Aurora lost grip on Sweetie Belle, and her tail ripped off. Sweetie Belle was shocked,surprised, and scared.
Twink! The black hole closed up and disappeared.
"COME ON,LIL' PONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Starlight yelled like a cheerleader.
Sweetie Belle winked a Golden Delicious apple out. It winked in on Starlight's desk.
"Great job,lil' pony!" said Starlight,giving her apprentice a High One.
"Oh,BTW,"Starlight said to Sweetie Belle(her apprentice)."What happened to your little friend,Aurora? I haven't seen her in a while- it's like she fell off the face of the earth!"
"Yeah,something like that." Sweetie Belle said.
"Aww,that's too bad. I bet you're gonna miss her,huh?" said Starlight sympathetically.
"Oh,we'll keep in touch." said Sweetie Belle with a little wink.
