As Celestia read Twilight's recent report, Celestia thought about something. It has been years since she had seen...Twilight's true power. She decided to do something. She levitated a sheet of parchment and a quill and ink bottle. She dipped the quill in the ink and began writing on the sheet of parchment.

Dear Twilight,

I have made a decision. Come to Canterlot, and your friends will be there too.

From,

Princess Celestia

Celestia sent it to Twilight, and then she made five more letters and sent them. She sat on her throne and relaxed. Celestia felt the sun warm up her beautiful white fur as she waited.

---------------

As Twilight was enjoying breakfast with Spike, she got up and got some butter for her pancakes. As she did, she heard a burp come from the table.

"Spike, that's rude," said Twilight as she walked to the table.

"It's a letter from the princess!"

Twilight sat down and read the letter. Her face turned from happy to unbelievably sad. She threw the letter across the room and just stared into space.

"Uh, Twilight?" asked Spike. "You okay?"

At that moment, Twilight jumped up as though somepony had lit a firecracker under her. "No, I'm not!" she yelled. Then she sat down and calmed down. At that moment, she noticed Spike looking ready to cry. "Oh, I'm so sorry I yelled at you Spike."

"It's okay," replied Spike calmly. "Anyways, what did the letter say?"

"It said to come to Canterlot, and that my friends would be there. Do you knowwhat that means?!" Twilight leaned forward.

"I have no idea," said Spike.

"It means that Celestia is going to send me to the library in Canterlot! I'm never going to see my friends ever again!"

"Now, now, why would Celestia say that?" Spike patted Twilight's back.

"Because...because I haven't studied hard enough!"

"That's ridiculous."

Twilight heard a chariot land outside. She and Spike opened the door, and saw her friends in the chariot. Rarity was wearing a large purple hat with several white feathers placed in the side.

"Hop in, Twilight," said Pinkie Pie. "We're going to Canterlot! The candies, cookies, cupcakes, cakes...." Pinkie trailed off.

Twilight walked inside with Spike following. As soon as they had settled down, the pegasus guards took off, pulling the chariot in the air.

Everypony talked excitedly, except for the guards and Twilight, who leaned against the edge. She watched the landscape fly past as she was coming closer to her doom.

The chariot landed in the front yard of the castle. The ponies walked out, one with great reluctance, and followed the guards into the castle. In the first room, it was full of ponies in dresses, wearing their mane and tail in a regal way. Some took note of Rarity's hat, and her friends had to drag her away.

They finally reached the throne room doors, and Twilight winced as they creaked open. On the throne was Princess Celestia, and beside it was a indigo throne, with a moon painted on the top, and stars dotting the cloth. On it was none other than Princess Luna.

"Ah, Twilight Sparkle, my most faithful student," said Celestia. "Will your friends stand outside in the halls for a moment?"

The guards ushered Twilight's friends out into the halls, which left only Celestia, Luna, and Twilight in the room.

"Twilight, while reading upon your recent report, I thought of something," said Celestia.

"What was it?" asked Twilight nervously.

"That I should-"

"You should send me back to Canterlot because I wasn't studying hard enough!" exclaimed Twilight. "Please, Princess, give me another chance!"

"Twilight, come here." Celestia motioned for Twilight to come closer, and when she did, she gave a little nuzzle to her student. "I would never do that. I was reading you last report on friendship. And, Twilight?"

"Yes Princess?"

"Remember that day? As a filly? When you were trying to pass the entrance exam?"

"Yes...why?"

"Is it okay if we...practice it again?"

Twilight nodded nervously, though she knew what might happen. She might mess everything up, just like before! She might turn Celestia into a potted plant! But Celestia would be careful. Twilight kept this in her mind.

Luna was on standby, ready to help if anything went wrong. She had a feeling that something was going to be wrong. The air, it seemed...different.

Celestia stood up and her horn began to glow. Twilight could feel Celestia's magic touching hers. Twilight forced herself to stay still. Suddenly, she felt Celestia reach for the lock on Twilight's magic. Twilight wanted to scream, but Luna was there to help if anything went wrong. And so were her friends. Suddenly, Celestia unlocked her magic, but Twilight kept still. Celestia poked Twilight's magic, trying to get it to unleash calmly, but when she finally did, Twilight felt the panic rise in her and fall out of her mouth. "CELESTIA, NO!!!"

Surprised, Celestia lost control of Twilight's magic, letting it loose. Bright lights streamed from Twilight, letting her magic loose. Luna rushed out of her chair, knowing she had been right. Something had gone wrong!

"TWILIGHT!!!" Celestia screamed. She ran towards Twilight to calm her, but suddenly a dome of light appeared around Twilight, keeping Celestia away. Celestia tried to get in, but she couldn't. Then she heard something come from Twilight.

"Cel...estia....help..." said Twilight weakly, but her voice was soon drowned by a evil laugh. It reminded Celestia of Nightmare Moon. Suddeny, she was tugged back by her sister, Luna, and pulled away from her student. Celestia turned to the door, and saw Twilight Sparkle's friends rushing in.

"Twilight!" they all exclaimed. They ran forward, but a beam of light suddenly threw them into a wall.

The dome then imploded, and Celestia could see a small purple figure in the middle. "Twilight!"

Luna took Twilight's friends out the throne room and into the hall. "Quickly. We must leave," said Luna.

"W-what's wrong with Twilight?" asked Fluttershy. "I think she's okay now that the dome is gone."

"No, she isn't," replied Luna. "My sister hasn't been quite herself. Usually, she could feel trouble when it was near. But then she couldn't. But I could." Luna took them down a long flight of stairs, walked them through several more halls, and then she began walking down another long flight of stairs. "I do not think you should approach your friend anymore."

"We're not gonna do that!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash. "Twilight is our friend!" The five ponies stopped walking.

"You must come," said Luna. "Twilight will not find you down here. Quickly, because our time is running out."

"No can do, Luna," said Applejack. "I know you're a princess and all, but I ain't leaving my friend behind."

Luna levitated them in the air and flew down the stairs, carrying the other five ponies."You must come down here," Luna explained. "If not, all hope will be lost." She stopped in front of a chamber that could only be opened with powerful magic. Luna used her magic to open it and put Twilight's friends inside. "Now stay here until I get you."

"But why?" asked Pinkie Pie. "Can't you stop her? Since your a princess with super awesome powerful magic? Can't we stop her?"

"No," said Luna sternly. "You must wait to help your friend."

And with that, Princess Luna closed and locked the door.

Celestia approached Twilight, expecting her to jump up and attack. Instead, she just layed there.

Then, she could see Twilight standing up, with a dazed expression on her face. Twilight then ran to Celestia and hugged her.

"Celestia, what happened?" asked Twilight.

"It's going to be okay, Twilight," said Celestia.

"Oh, I know everything will be okay."

Celestia let go of Twilight and looked at her. Twilight's eyes were glowing white, and she had a pair wings. Which made her a alicorn.

Twilight flew over to the thrones. Celestia tried running to her, but she tied up in celestial bronze chains. Instead, she tripped and fell.

"Tell me, Celestia, what do you see in these pictures?" asked Twilight.

Celestia turned the stained glass windows and stared. The Elements of Harmony defeating Nightmare Moon, and then Discord.

"Friendship. Harmony. Happiness," said Twilight. "Part of me loved it. But this part of me doesn't. So, with my power, I will change Equestria into my empire!"

"Twilight, you don't have to do this," Celestia begged. "Please, bring back your old self."

"Silence!" exclaimed Twilight. She turned to Celestia. "Now, will you give me your throne, be my slave, or fight for the throne?"

"I will never fight you, or be your slave," replied Celestia calmly. She then heard the doors slam open, and saw Luna stomp in.

"So, I suppose you have the same reply as your sister?" asked Twilight. Luna nodded.

"Well then, I have only one option for goody-goodies. Banishment," said Twilight. She aimed her horn at them. "One to the moon, and one to the sun. Goodbye, former princesses."

---

"One, two, three!"

The five friends bucked down the door and walked out. The chamber door seemed to prove weak to teamwork.

"Let's go help Twilight, girls," said Rarity as she ran up the steps, Everypony followed her.

Halfway up the steps, Applejack heard a voice. Go back to the chamber.

"Did y'all hear that?" asked Applejack. Everypony turned to her.

"Do you mean the sound of our hooves?" asked Rarity.

"No," said Applejack. "A voice. It sounded like...Princess Luna."

Everypony shook their heads. "You must be hearing things," said Fluttershy.

Get you and your friends back to the chamber said Luna's voice.

"There it is again!" said Applejack. "Do you hear it now?"

"No," said Fluttershy.

Get you friends back to the chamber! NOW! yelled Luna in Applejack's mind, using the Royal Canterlot Voice.

"Make it stop, y'all, make it stop!" cried out Applejack. She slumped down.

"Ignore her, AJ," said Rainbow Dash. "Ignore her and run!"

Applejack stood up and ran up the steps with her friends. She ignored Luna's yelling.

The five ponies ran through the halls, dodging fancy Canterlot ponies, vintage pots, and armor. They dashed through the halls and through the doors of the throne room. "TWILIGHT!" exclaimed the five ponies.

Twilight turned around. "Well, well, who de we have here?" said Twilight. She looked at them and smirked. "Guards!" she commanded. Two guards dashed to Twilight's side. Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash watched as Twilight's horn glowed and the guards turned to gray, just like Discord had done with them. "Guards," said Twilight. "Capture these ponies and throw them in the dungeon. I will decide what will happen to them later."

The five ponies looked in horror as they watched the guards walk forward. "Twilight," said Rainbow. "You don't need to this. Please, we're you're friends."

"You were," said Twilight. "But not anymore."

" RUN!" said Luna in Applejack's mind. The five ponies ran out of the throne room, through the halls, and out of the castle's doors. The guards followed them, and when the guards passed other guards, they turned gray too. Soon a huge group of guards were running after them.

The guards had soon chased the Elements into the city. Everypony looked up from their shopping to see what the comotion was. The Elements saw, up ahead, a large group of ponies. They ran into the group, easily dodging them. The guards though, trampeled over them. The Elements quickly hid in a alleyway, as guards passed by them.

"What should we do now?" asked Rainbow Dash.

Go stay with the Diamond Dogs for a while said Luna's voice.

"Luna says...to stay with the Diamond Dogs for while," said Applejack shakily.

It seemed that the day would get more bad and bad, until it was as terrible as a rotten apple.
