How it all began
Ditsy or better known as Derpy has always lived a happy life with the Doctor, they had their ups and downs. It seemed that nothing could change that happiness. They had happiness at the tip of their hoofs nothing could change that, and nothing did.
Not until Derpy told the Doctor the good news, as she likes to call it, Derpy was pregnant and the father was the Doctor. Now having foals was never in the Doctors plans in life but he was loyal. He decided to stay and raise the little foal with Derpy and give up his life of adventure for a plain life of fatherhood. So he and Derpy had planned out all the things and procedures that would allow a healthy birth. Through night and day the Doctor had tended to Derpys every need to the day her water broke.
When Derpy went into labor she had given birth to her daughter. Oh how Derpy was happy she was in tears with joy that she had at last done something right in her whole life but the Doctor had a different emotion on him, he wasn't happy or proud of Derpys achievement on successfully giving birth to their new foal. The Doctor's emotions where blank he was just a husk that stood in front of Derpy and the foal. The only words that came out was the one word he hadden't said in a long time.
"FANTASTIC!!" said the doctor with a grin growing wider and wider he couldnt hold his blank expression any more he was happy that in front of him was a piece of him that he and Derpy made. The Doctor quickly started poking the newborn and talking to the foal.
"Hello their little fella Im your dad" said the Doctor while he poked the newborn Derpy quickly smacked the doctors hoof away from the foal.
"DON'T TOUCH HER!" said Derpy out of nowhere. The Doctor only thought that Derpy was still under the effects of the medication they gave her. He quickly shrugged it off and went to the doctor to sign the paper work and every thing, when It came to a naming his daughter he was thinking of names that seemed right for the newborn.
"Derpy how does the nam...."
"She is going to be called Dinky." interrupted Derpy as she was cuddling the newborn as the Doctor was in the middle of a sentence.
"Shouldn't we think this through Dear? This is the only time and place to name are one and only daughter." asked the Doctor untill he realized that Derpy was already off the hospital bed and putting the name she chose before the Doctor could say anything.
When Derpy and the Doctor left the hospital with their newborn it was raining. Since the Doctor doesn't know how to operate the new horseless drawn carriages made by the Flim Flam Bro's. They had to walk to their home Derpy was quite upset with the Doctor and pestered him why he didn't know how to drive and how he was going to get the foal sick. The Doctor just ignored Derpy while he was walking he was just so happy that he was a father now. No amount of harshfull words that were lashed at him could have made the Doctor change his attitude.
When the Doctor and Derpy got home they both took a quick shower and went straight to bed they were both tired from walking, both have forgotten how far they lived from the hospital and how tiresome it was to walk from their home to the central part of ponyville. They both layed in bed dozing off to sleep when they were both suddenly awoken by the screams and Wales from the newborn.
"Oh for the love of Celestia make it stop" said Derpy as she rolled off bed and landing on the floor. The Doctor had a more calm tone to the crying, he just got out of bed and went to the babys bed that the hospital was so generous to give. He just rocked the babys craddle a few times making the foal fall fast asleep.
After living with Dinky for about a year now both Derpy and the Doctor were happy with their baby, Derpy was no longer her bubbly self that she was when she was not a mother, she was now a more stressful pony who was a bit jumpy when others came up to her. She acted weird around her friends and seemed to cry when she looked at Dinky. When the Doctor came close to Dinky Derpy would quickly take her away from him. He didn't know why Derpy would do that but most of the time he dosn't know why Derpy does half the things she does, but not letting him be with his daughter made him mad he wanted to know why Derpy was acting so weird around everything Derpy quickly tried to change the subject but she has been avoiding the Doctors questions for to long.
"Derpy why have been acting so strange lately? Is their something wrong just tell me I sure I could understand if you just told me. I am the Docter you know" said the Docter as he winked at her like in the old days sounding as nice as possible.
"Me acting strange... I'm not acting strange.. am I acting strange Dinky well am I? Am I?!" said derby as she started to violently shake her one year old foal.
"DERPY WHAT ARE YOU DOING? STOP THAT YOUR GOING TO HURT DINKY!" said the doctor now fearful of what had happened to his once happy lover. Why was she acting so strange all of a sudden? Why was the pony he fell in love with acting in this certain matter? All these questions were passing through the good Doctors mind. All he knew was that he had to get Dinky away from Derpy as quickly as possible.
After a few minutes of trying to calm Derpy and getting Dinky in safe hoofs. Derpy just snapped she started to laugh, cry, yell, and grone she has completely lost her mind. The Doctor couldn't keep calm anymore he just got in front of Derpy and took Dinky away from her.
"NOW LOOK DERPY YOU ARE GOING TO STOP THIS MADNESS AND LEAVE OUR DAUGHTER ALONE YOU COULD KILL HER" Yelled the Doctor he was quite furious with the way Derpy was acting. he was ready to yell at Derpy again before he heard her speak. Her speech was low and barely noticeable.
"What was that Derpy I couldnt quite hear you?" said the confused Doctor.
"She is not your daughter"
"What Derpy I can't seem to hear you quite right" said the Doctor checking his ears in case he had anything blocking his ear holes.
"she is not your daughter"
"Really Derpy what are you saying you seem like you lost your voice" said the Doctor now just messing with his wife knowing that when Derpy is quiet she dosn't shake Dinky around and yell at him.
"I SAID SHE IS NOT YOUR DAUGHTER!" said the now weeping Derpy as she looks at the ground.
"what do you mean?" Said the Docter a bit shocked
"Oh don't play dumb Doctor you heard what I said. Dinky is not your daughter, I'm sorry but she... she is some one else's. I didn't want to hurt you and I didn't want to make you cry but I had to tell you sooner or later so now I'm cleaning out the skeletons in my closet" said Derpy with now a hint of happiness that she got rid of having to lie to her husband.
"You.. you cheated on me and you didn't even tell me. Let alone you got pregnant with another colts baby and decided to make me take care of your mistake no Derpy not any more I am sick and tired of you. You think you could just mess with my heart your just like every other race who wants to be with me the Humans, Voord, Morok and Aridian its just so simple to lie and cheat to get what you want isn't it derpy well isn't it?
"I'm sorry Doctor its just that.."
"No Derpy everybody only gets one I'm leaving you." said the now crying Doctor. He was hurt the pain he felt was far greater than any pain he felt in his life it was the pain of a thousand suns collapsing in his heart he had to leave Derpy but not with out his daughter "and I'm taking Dinky with me. your to unfit to take care of a baby and you know it DITSY"
Derpy was stunned with the last remark the Doctor said the only time the Doctor called her her real name was when he first arrived to equestria. He always called her Dits or Ditsy when they met but when they started to get closer he started calling her Derpy just like everypony else it was her nick name that everypony gave her and the Doctor was using it too.
"PLEASE DOCTOR PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME! I COULD CHANGE I'M SURE I CAN I WILL NEVEREVEREVER CHEAT ON YOU AGAIN I PINKIE PROMISE" said Derpy in sobs.
"Its not that simple Ditsy you can't just go around and break a ponys heart and expect to be forgiven so easily what do you think this is? Some kind of cartoon where everything gets all happy in the end because someone said they are sorry. Well Ditsy it’s not. I'm going.", said the Doctor packing his and Dinkys stuff in a satchel. As he was getting ready to leave Derpy or Ditsy which the Doctor was calling her was just sobbing uncontrollably.
When the Doctor was done packing he just looked at Derpy and sighed. "Sorry Disty but you ruined everything. Why couldn't you have just told me earlier? I don't care that Dinky is not my real daughter, I still love her with all my heart. It's just that you, the one pony I trust in this whole world filled with pastel colored ponies, lied to me and broke my trust. I can never forgive you for what you did.", and with that he was off walking out the door with his daughter in a stroller.
"Please Doctor don't leave me now. Don't say it's the end of our world. I still love you. Remember when I stuck by your side when you were sick. I sent you flowers.", said Derpy trying to convince the Doctor but to no avail. "How could you go now with this going on? You know I need you in this moment more than any other moment in our lives. How can you treat me this way? Why are you running away from your problems? Why now?”
"Ditsy, no matter what you say I am not going to change my mind. Now good day to you. Goodbye.", with those final words he left. The Doctor was gone from Derpy’s life because of one mistake that Derpy made.
After a few months of sulking Derpy started to think that maybe she could live life, her life, again but every time she tried she would always break down and cry. One day she was in the market when she heard his voice. It was distant at first but was quickly getting closer. Derpy quickly hid behind a dumpster. What she saw struck her as unbelievable. What she saw was the Doctor laughing and running with some other mare with Dinky on the Doctor’s back. She couldn't believe that within a few months the Doctor had already replaced her with some second hand harlot. Derpy decided to follow them. Derpy found out where they lived and what they did. What seemed to amaze her was how big her Dinky was growing. When there were no adults checking on Dinky, Derpy would come close and embrace Dinky in her hooves. At first Dinky was scared but soon calmed down knowing deep inside of her that the mare that was holding her was her mother. Derpy would sneak into the Doctor’s new home at night just to be with Dinky for a few minutes. Dinky enjoyed this time with her mother.
Everything was going fine for Derpy now. She was no longer a sad heap of flesh. She was now her old bubbly self. Ever since the new industrial revolution hit Ponyville and the invention of the interwebs there was no longer a need for a mailpony so she had to become a delivery pony. She had to learn how to drive and how to make sure to be safe in vehicles. Derpy would always pass by the Doctor’s home multiple times just to see if she could see her beloved daughter. When Derpy saw her daughter she would always make sure she was alone and nobody was watching her. She would get out of the cart and quickly hug Dinky and tell her the news and everything in between.
This wasn't the life Derpy expected to have but she made do with what she had. All until one of the Doctor’s neighbors told him that a grey Pegasus has been around with his daughter. This angered the Doctor and his new lover. They sent letters to Derpy’s home telling her that if they ever see her around their daughter they will not hesitate to call the police. This saddened Derpy because she couldn't see her daughter anymore. She started contemplating foalnapping her daughter and taking her far away from the Doctor. Derpy was not sure if she wanted to be happy again. She had to have Dinky back no matter the cost. She couldn't let her only flesh and blood forget who her real mother is. She couldn't just leave Dinky with the Doctor and his lover. She already had her own foal she didn't need another. With that Derpy made her decision. Derpy decided that day was the day she gets back her life.
