Wicked Purple Alicorn
Applejack took a bite out of her cinnamon apple cupcake savoring its sweet taste as she listened to her friends, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash argue with each other from the opposite side of the table. The three mares were sat down at a table in Sugar Cube Corner. Pinkie Pie had invited them over to try her newest batch of desserts. On the house, she had said and of course, the group couldn't refuse.
"I bet you can't go a whole day without flying," Twilight said with a chuckle.
"Oh yeah as if! I mean if anything I bet Applejack can't go a whole day away from Sweet Apple Acres" Rainbow relayed to the alicorn mare. The earth pony looked up confused as to why her name was suddenly getting thrown around in the conversation.
"Well then how about you both prove it and if you fail you have to spend the whole day at Rarity's disposal" Twilight snapped back with a smirk.
"You're on" Rainbow replied with a smug smile. Applejack looked between the two and buried her face in her hooves with a groan.
"This is gonna be a long day," she muttered into her hooves tiredly.
"Do I really have to do this? I held up my end of the bet it's not my fault Dash couldn't last all day" Applejack said annoyed.
"Come on it won't be that bad," Twilight said with a giggle pushing the orange mare into Rarity's boutique. Rainbow was standing in front of Rarity a look of sheer terror adorning her face.
"Oh my Celestia darlings I can't wait to give you both makeovers!" Rarity said her voice radiating pure delight. Applejack and Rainbow exchanged horrified glances.
"Now where should we start?" Rarity wondered aloud. "So how about I start styling your manes! Come now Applejack you're first I'm going to make you the apple of Equestria's eye" Rarity said excitedly as she directed Applejack to sit on a stool in front of one of the many vanities in her shop. She then grabbed a curling iron, a hairbrush, and a bottle of hair spray. She then removed the hair ties from Applejack's hair and started brushing her mane. The brush snagged a couple of times before being able be smoothly run through her thick blonde locks. Rarity then picked up the curling iron and started curling Applejack's hair. She then sprayed Applejack's mane with the hairspray securing the curls in place. Applejack coughed loudly. She smiled admiring her work. "Now we need to get some makeup on you, darling," Rarity said as she opened up a makeup kit on the vanity pulling out some eyeshadow and mascara.
Rainbow Dash watched as she covered her muzzle with her hoof stifling a laugh. Applejack rolled her eyes at the blue pegasus. Rarity dipped an eyeshadow brush into a bright eyeshadow palette. Rarity then slowly brought the brush to Applejack's face gently swiping it across each eye as it left a beautiful purple color behind. Applejack looked up at Rarity her heart skipping a beat as she looked into the other mare's eyes. "Now darling please stay still," Rarity said as she put black mascara on the other mare's eyelashes. "Done" the unicorn mare declared.
"Now to get you into a suitable outfit," Rarity said in a sing-song voice. She looked through her rack of dresses before pulling one out. It was a sleeveless red dress with a white undercoat. It had black lace on its edges and was adorned with purple gems. Rarity squealed excitedly at the sight of it. "These gems will match your eyeshadow perfectly," Rarity said as she gave Applejack the dress to put on. The orange mare went into the changing room quickly shuffling into the dress. She then walked back out of the changing room.
Rarity gasped tears in her eyes. "You look marvelous darling," Rarity said wiping a tear with a hoofkerchief. "Now it's time for accessories darling!" Rarity said heading over to a draw and pulling out a pair of shiny bright purple moon-shaped earrings as well as a black choker with a ruby centerpiece. "These shall match quite well with your get-up so far," Rarity said as she handed the items to Applejack to put on. The other mare slowly but surely attached the earrings to her ears. She then fastened the choker around her neck.
Rarity shuffled around the boutique before finding some evening gloves and a hat. The gloves were black and with purple fabric at the top. Purple gems stood out at the top of the gloves shining as bright as the sun. The hat was black with a red ribbon and a purple jewel adorning it. She handed the items over to Applejack with an excited smile. Applejack just gave a wry smile to the unicorn mare. Applejack then put the gloves on shivering at the feeling of their smooth silk fabric on her skin. She then places the hat atop her head. Rarity then handed a pair of red high heels to the orange mare. The earth pony swiftly put them on her back hooves.
Rainbow Dash's jaw was practically on the floor as she stared at Applejack. "Buck you look amazing AJ," Rainbow said in surprise. Rarity was looking at Applejack like the world revolved around her. A blush crept up Rarity's cheeks as she cleared her throat.
"You look lovely dear" Rarity said in a gentle tone. She quickly regained her composure turning to her next target. "Now it's your turn darling," Rarity said with a giggle as she pulled Rainbow Dash over to the stool Applejack previously sat in.
Rarity waited for the blue pegasus to sit. She then grabbed the brush from earlier and ran it through Rainbow's tangled locks. She then gave it a once over before she picked up the curling iron turning it onto the lowest setting and then curling Rainbow's hair. She then brushed out the curls to leave behind luxurious waves. She pranced to the other side of the room grabbing a bottle of perfume before trotting back over to Rainbow Dash. She held the bottle up and gave Rainbow a light spritz of perfume. "Now darling let's do your makeup," Rarity said as she grabbed some pink eyeshadow from the makeup box and started to apply it to the small makeup brush. She then brought the brush gently to Rainbow's eyes and made two smooth motions leaving Rainbow Dash's eyes dashed in a light pink. Rarity then picked up the mascara from earlier and held the pegasus still as she applied it.
"Applejack can you fetch me that pink dress from over there" Rarity called out as she gathered accessories for Rainbow Dash. Now on the vanity was a pair of pink heart earrings, a white choker with a diamond centerpiece, white evening gloves, and a white fur boa. Applejack followed Rarity's command and brought the pink dress over to Rainbow Dash. The pegasus groaned taking the dress and entering the dressing room getting the dress on as quickly as she could. She then pranced back out to face Rarity. The mare handed her the accessories and smiled brightly. Rainbow Dash took the fur Boa around her neck taking in its light and fluffy feeling against her neck. She then put the earrings, choker, and gloves on. Rarity stared in awe as she gave Rainbow a pair of pink high heels. The pegasus sighed and slipped the pink heels on.
Applejack giggled as she looked at Rainbow Dash. "I ain't ever seen you so fancy and floofy," the orange pony said as she poked the white fur boa with one of her forehooves.
"That's cause I don't wanna be" Rainbow Dash replied glaring at the other mare.
"Well darling I think you look regal," Rarity said with a grin.
"Thanks, I guess" Rainbow replied rolling her eyes the white fur boa starting to itch around her neck.
"Now you two let's go get hayshakes at Sugar Cube Corner," Rarity said as she trotted out the door of the boutique. The two other mares followed her begrudgingly.
They were now sitting at a booth in Sugar Cube Corner. Rarity took a sip of her hayshake and smiled. "I know you both didn't want makeovers but I appreciate you spending time with me," Rarity said her eyes shifting to Applejack as she felt heat rise on her cheeks again.
"It ain't a problem Rares I like spending time with you" Applejack replied as she jabbed Rainbow in the side so she'd say something.
"Yeah it's been great spending time with you," Rainbow Dash said rubbing her hoof on her side as she groaned in pain. Rarity burst out laughing and Applejack soon joined in followed by Rainbow Dash. Even if they hadn't wanted makeovers they had fun. Rarity was their friend and they were just happy she was happy. Rainbow Dash made a promise to herself to never make a bet with a purple alicorn ever again.
