Sunset Shimmer was your average student is actually the legendary Phoenix Knight. Entrusted by a magic blade called the Phoenix Blade she protects not only her school but her city from dangerous monsters and vile robots all while having a good GPA.
In the city of Canterlot City in Canterlot High, students are back in school after summer break.
"Well, everyone I know most of you are bummed to be back at school." The English Teacher Mr. McCall said.
"Well so am I! 500 word essay. What you did on summer break? Go," He said having most students groan.
"Who gives a essay on the first week back at school," Rainbow Dash said quietly.
"McCall do," Applejack replied as the girls started to write.
I'm Sunset Shimmer and these are my friends, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Twilight Sparkle. We mostly had the same summer doing typical summer stuff but for it was different. And you might be asking how different? Well it started likes this....
It was about a week ago, I was heading home after hangout with my friends on the beach. Once I came home, I found a black box sitting on the table and it was glowing and next to it was a note. I read the note saying that I'm the Phoenix Knight. After reading it, I opened the box and inside was a red-orange blade embed with the mark of The Phoenix.
I spoke with Princess Twilight about this. According to her, there's was old legend about that the Phoenix Knight has protected Canterlot City for over 1,000 years, only few people know about it. It's been a long time since then the Phoenix Knight came back. When I ask why did it chose me, she told me that I came a better person by allowing to have true friendship in my soul. However I can't tell anyone about this, not even my friends which kind of stinks.
"Penicils down!" Mr. McCall announces grabbing the papers from the students then bell ringed making the students leave.
Outside the halls, Garble and his gang were picking on students as the girls were at their lockers.
"It's been almost two weeks since we came back to Canterlot High, and frankly no one has seen this Phoenix Knight dudette," Rainbow groaned.
"Rainbow, are you even sure she's even real?" Twilight asked her. "This is the first time in over 50 years that he's came back. Plus, there has to be some monster or robot to attack the school."
"Besides, is not like she can come out for a meet and greet," Rarity added.
"Or maybe she can." Sunset thought to herself as the head to their next class.
At the center of the city is Drake Industries, owned by Darius Drake, the richest man in the word. By his side is his scientific assistant, Roland Densen. Both of them were talking to a what appears to be a man with a black-robe projected by a chamber.
"You promise me, you would destroyed the Phoenix Knight!" He said with bitterly.
"But haven't seen her all summer. Have you seen him, Roland?" Drake asked him.
"I haven't seen her, I mean after all it's been over 50 years since any of us had seen her," Roland thought about it.
"The moment she show her face... BAM!" He slams his hands together. "Destroyed!"
The black robe man roared, shaking the office briefly.
"Do... not... fail... me!" And with that warning, he disappears.
Both stand in silence until the phone rings, starling both of them. Drake picks it up.
"Mr. Drake, your wife is on the phone."
He grabs and hold to his ear.
"Hey sweetie! I'm in the middle of something... Of course, I'll see you there, my love muffin!" Then Drake slams the phone back in place letting a groan. "How can run a secret evil empire when my own stepson keeps getting into troubled at SCHOOL!"
"Kids, today."
"Just get in down in your lab, build me something dangerous and something deadly so it destroy that knight!" He screamed as he actually punch the phone and the phone gets smashed on the wall.
"Got it."
At Canterlot High, it was lunchtime and the girls were at the table eating as Pinkie sat down with them.
"Wasn't Sunset just here, what happen to her?" Pinkie asked.
"She went to powder her nose," Rarity told her as is was girl talk for 'go to the bathroom.'
"Boom!"
A red puff of steam appears right next to girls revealing Sunset in a red and orange suit giving more of a female look with orange-mask conceal her identity and everyone stopped what they were doing and gasped.
"Hello, students of Canterlot High! Tis, I the Phoenix Knight!" She shouted as the students gathers around her.
"Well I'll be duped, she's here," Both Twilight and Applejack were lost of words.
"I can't believe, Sunset's missing this," Rainbow said.
At the principal office. Darius Drake, his wife Sarah Drake and his stepson, Garble are sitting across from Principal Celestia.
"With the first two days at school alone, Garble has given 100 wedgies, 32 swirlies. and a diaper stink bowl," Celestia said.
"Is that even a real thing?" Drake asked.
She turns her laptop around and the sight cause both parents to cringe.
"Great potatoes!" Sarah exclaimed.
"Heck yeah!" Garble pumped his fist.
"Oh, Principal Celestia, I just don't believe that my Garble would ever do anything like that," Sarah said in disbelief.
"Yeah, I'm being framed!" Garble accused her.
"Sister, the Phoenix Knight is the cafeteria!" Vice-Principal Luna said heading out of the office, then a flock of students followed.
"She's here! I need sign an autograph," Celestia said as Drake gritted his teeth of hearing the name. "It's only the first week, so, I'll let Garble off with a warning."
She runs out of the office, follow by Garble.
"Scott free, baby!" As he left the two parents alone.
"Go ahead," Sarah told him. "If don't destroy the Phoenix Knight, you'll talk about on the ride home."
"And that's why love you," Drake gave her a kiss on the check and headed out of the office.
At Drake Industries, the phone as Roland was working he sighed and answered it.
"Drake Industries, genius master mind, Roland speaking."
"The Knight is at the school. Right now! Release the... what's it's called?!"
"It's called, Grinder."
"Release the Grinder!"
Roland shock to life with a taser.
"Go forth, my creation, and destroy the Knight!" Roland shouted as Grinder shouts in his face. "Oh she's about yay high, red and orange armor. you can't miss her."
Grinder roars again before running towards the making a giant hole.
Back at the school...
"Now, most of you know that I must be prepared for any all situations. Oh, and tip the lunch ladies. Catch you later!" Phoenix Knight said preparing to leave.
Just she was about to leave, Grinder deicides to storm the place and sending the students into a panic.
"Yes, destroy!" Drake shouts from his hiding place.
"Well that just happen, my first monster fight."
She flips off the table and lands right next him.
"Get ready to get your backside..."
Grinder punches her through the wall.
"Sunset, what are you doing? The Phoenix Knight's is here and she getting crushed," Rainbow texted to Sunset.
She crashed into a row of lockers before Phoenix hears her phone beeped. She takes her phone and reads the message.
"Oh. come on, can you give me a break, it's my first time doing this," Phoenix Knight said.
The Grinder appears from behind and snarls at her. Phoenix Knight flips into the air then punches it in the jaw then sweep kick it, knocking to floor. The Grinder gets back up and punches her in the face sending down a flight of stairs.
"Yeah, I getting my butt handed to me," She groaned before heading to the showers and hid in the one of the stalls.
The Grinder crashed through it and begin punching the stall one at time until he finally the one the Phoenix Knight was hiding.
"If you think that was hiding from you, then sadly mistaken."
Before he could beat her up, Phoenix Knight bashed him on the head leaving him unconscious and leaps over him and her fire a beam from her hand to laced the door shut it.
"That should hold him for the time being, as I'm late for class!" Phoenix Knight said as she change out her suit and head to her class and next to Rainbow Dash.
"What the heck, happen to you, Sunset!?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
"I was powdering my nose, as I think I make a bad call on the meatloaf," Sunset told her.
"Whatever, you missed Phoenix Knight, and between us, she got her butt kicked."
"Well, it's been long... she' probably getting the rust off," Sunset said.
Sometime later...
"Well, it's been fun, but I got to go," Sunset said as prepare to leave as we approach the end of school. "Looks I'll see the Phoenix Knight some other time."
"You won't have to do," Pinkie said. "Turns, she locked the monsters the basement showers, so I let it out!"
"YOU DID WHAT!?" All the girls exclaimed.
"Pinkie do, have any idea..." Twilight was about to chew her out until a front of car smashed through the wall. The seven look outside to see Grinder wreaking havoc which made Sunset gulped but it gave her the chance to slip away from them.
Drake runs into the school yard. "Where the heck is that thing!?"
He sees the monster destroy what was left the car.
"There he is!"
"My car!" Mr. Dunlap shouted in horror.
"This is beyond nuts, Pinkie even for you," Rarity said to her as Phoenix Knight appears.
"Stay clear, I'll handle this!" She said. Okay, I can do this! I can kick this freak's butt!
She waved her hand for the monster to come her. She punches all six arms, charging towards her. The monster punches all six arms, charging towards her. Phoenix Knight jumps up and uses one of the arms to lift herself up into the air then did a midair twist and kick him the face. The monster growls and repeatedly tried to punch her but she block them all then kick one of the arms into the face sending it flying to across.
"Who's getting their butt kicked now?!" She asked rhetorically as the students cheered.
Grinder snaps out of it,, an arm growing from its chest.
"It has a secret arm?!" Applejack was shocked.
"That's is so, Roland!" Drake said quietly as Phoenix Knight kicked in its jaw.
"What else does it take to beat it?" Phoenix Knight wondered. "Oh, wait. I forget I had a sword."
With a snap of her fingers her Phoenix Blade appeared. She grabbed it and slice off the extra arm.
"Pretty sword," Pinkie said in awe.
"Okay, let's do this," Phoenix Knight tighten the grip of her blade.
The monster runs to her, but Phoenix Knight swing her blade in circular motion, slicing and dicing it. The arms fall completely off before crumbles to its knees and splits in half.
"Ugh!" Most of the students exclaimed in disgust.
"That was impressive!" Drake said out loud hoping that his cover wasn't blow then walked away.
"Catch you later!" Phoenix Knight said as she disappeared in cloud of smoke.
After a drama filled day at school the girls were at Sugarcube Corner...
"I was wondering why does the Phoenix Knight have to wear a mask?" Fluttershy asked.
"Maybe to hide her true identity if someone knew, it would cause alarms to future enemies," Sunset explain to her.
"Well, identity issues or not it still awesome to see her!" Rainbow exclaimed.
"And that suit of hers is amazing! I got to find out if she's a eight or nine," Rarity implied.
It was late at Canterlot High had basketball game and the girls were the stands watching it until.
"This stinks," The girls overheard Scootaloo as she, Apple Bloom, and Sweetie Belle and Spike were across from them with glum faces.
"Why the sad faces?" Rainbow asked them.
"We were trying to become the first freshmen to sit in the Colt Cage but our impression ended badly," Scootaloo answered.
"The Colt Cage?" Twilight asked.
"Only the coolest of the cool gets to sit there," Spike told her as both of them look to Crash Clyde tripped himself landing face first on the hardwood making them cringe a bit. "That gotta leave a mark."
"At least we're not sitting with marching band, they have splash zone," Sweetie Belle shuddered.
"That's not so bad," Rarity said.
Sweetie Belle gesture to them as they got thrown food on them then out of nowhere a tire hits a band member. One of them, Tri Tip played excessively on the triangle only for the crowed to boo him.
"Tri Tip!" Ms. Firecracker exclaimed at him. "What did I tell you about showboating?!" Tri Tip continued to play. "Tri Tip! Your triangle's writing checks your dinger can't cash! You're benched until further notice! Hand over the dinger!"
"You can take the dinger," He placed it on her hand. "But you'll never take my pride!"
He runs out of the gym with tears in his face.
"That poor guy," Fluttershy sighed. "He just wanted to express his love of music."
...
With Tri Tip, he was in the bathroom crying his heart out but what didn't know that below the school floors lies the lair of the sinister Shadow King (The human version of King Sombra) who sealed away by last The Phoenix Knight in the last 50 years.
"Misery, with subtle notes of utter humiliation, and slightest of flip sweat. He will do very nicely."
A surge of black mist surrounded him and Shadow King send through the pipes were Tri Tip was and his glowed yellow as his dinger turned pitch black.
In the band room...
"Nice performance out there. Your B flats and minor sevenths weren't bad either," Miss Firecracker said to them as one of them did the sad trombone music. "Gully, cool it with the trombone jokes."
A growl is heard and transform Tri Tip burst into the room. He lets out a roar to the room.
Sunset head for her motorcycle preparing go home until she hears screams from the band room, she look around to see anyone was in the area to wit no one was there. She pulls the necklace from under her shirt and transformed.
Back at the band room, Tri Tip ripped apart a tuba, roaring at the band students. He picks up a piano with his bare hands.
"It's Knight Time!" Phoenix Knight appear right in front of them. "Okay you, drop the piano!"
Tri Tip heaves over her and heading the band team but Phoenix Knight slice it with her Phoenix Blade. Tri Tip throws a tuba at her but Phoenix caught it with magic and placed it on the ground showing much improvement from the first time. The band starting to take pictures of her and they snap out of it as a flute was thrown toward to them but Phoenix Knight caught it and gave the flute to its owner.
Tri Tip grabbed two clarinets and twirl them around.
"Hey, kid with the cowbells," Phoenix Knight looked a band player with cowbells. "Cowbell me!"
He threw both cowbells at her with Phoenix Knight catching them spinning them around.
"Time to drop the beat!"
Tri Tip charges first, Phoenix Knight kicked him the face. He gets back up and counter the cowbells swings with the clarinets. Phoenix Knight spin around and slammed the cowbells on his face then magic blasted him into a wall. Phoenix Knight got a look at the monsters realized it was Tri Tip.
"Okay, I have question, Tri Tip. What exactly happen to you?" She asked him.
"If I can't play the triangle in the band , then nobody can!" Tri Tip said as he pushed on a self of instruments on a student with maracas is shaking with fear.
Phoenix Knight got in front of him and use her hands to stop it from falling and pushed back into place as Tri Tip burst through a wall and left leaving a total silence in the band room with most of them trying comprehend what just happened.
"Well, that just happened," Phoenix Knight mummers to herself before teleporting herself out of there.
The next day, Sunset was in the libary feeling somewhat tiring as she spent all of last night finding Tri Tip hoping that he didn't hurt anybody in the city.
"Never look for a runaway monster on a school night," Sunset moans before pulling her journal. "Princess Twilight? You there, we have a problem."
I'm here Sunset was the problem?
"Just the other night, I fought a monster that resembles Tri Tip, member of the Canterlot Band Team. I have sudden feeling there's more to this I mean you don't turn into a monster like that out of the blue. I was hoping you shed some light."
Perhaps I can. He must've been transformed by the Shadow King.
"Who's that?"
The Shadow King, is a ruthless spirit who seek to rule your world. However the previous Phoenix Knight sealed him away. His magic can possess those who vulnerable using that which he holds dear.
"Okay, if someone gets emotional, the Shadow King can turn them into monsters. How do I change them back."
You have to destroy the thing they love the most to break the spell.
"Okay, that one more question? What is the thing that Tri Tip love the most?" Sunset thought.
In the lair of the Shadow King...
"With my latest creation spreading chaos, I shall grow in power. And once I have enough I shall break the seal and escape destroy the Phoenix Knight and rule everything!" Shadow King said before laughing evilly.
With Sunset she was at the courtyard planning how reverse monster curse from Tri Tip.
"I need a way to get Tri Tip back here, but how can I do that," Sunset think about it then look at Vinyl Scratch and Octavia playing music to where an idea popped in her head. "And I think I know how."
...
It's was another basketball game but this once game reached halftime a special performance by Vinyl and Octavia was going on as this was Sunset's plan. With them performing it draw out Tri Tip to where her alter-ego can take action. To her luck Tri Tip burst through the doors and roars making the crowd gasps as Phoenix Knight made her entrance.
"Okay, Tri Tip, I do really feeling like beating a band geek, but..."
A basketball hits her right into her guts.
"But I willing to make a exception."
"Okay, think how can I remove the Shadow King's hold him? Remember what Princess Twilight said, Destroy the thing they love the most. Which is the back-up dinger!"
Phoenix Knight pulled out a rope and lasso the back dinger but Tri Tip stepped on the rope preventing her from retrieving it. Phoenix Knight blinded him with two flash orbs allowing her to grab it then she procced to slice the dinger in half by her blade turning the band player back to normal as the black mist disappear into the vent .
"Go Phoenix! Go Phoenix!" The students cheered her as she saved the day again.
"You're too kind!" Phoenix Knight said before leaping out of the gym.
At Drake Industries', the building that created so many items for the people of Canterlot City was Drake talking to Shadow King from his office.
"Today is the day I destroy the Phoenix Knight forever!" Drake shouted.
"Do you even have a plan?" Shadow King asked him.
"Of course, I have a plan! Roland, what's the plan?" Drake asked Roland as he came in.
"We lure her into a custom-made trap of my design," Roland snickered.
"Yes, lure, trap, and capture!"
"But how are you luring her into your trap?"
"Shoot, did take 'what to use a bait' into the trap."
"Well... no that wouldn't work... that's even worse.... Wait I got it, I'll be the bait. I'm a pillar of the community. Everyone loves me."
"That's not a bad idea..."
"SLICENCE!" Shadow King interrupted both of them. "If you want your want your reward., you will destroy Phoenix Knight!" And with that, he disappears.
"This better work, Densen. I want my reward!"
At Canterlot High...
"Is there anything that Drake did wrong? The answer is no! And that's why I'm his number one fan," Twilight said to the others.
"I thought you were Phoenix Knight's number one fan?" Rainbow asked.
"Both Drake and Phoenix Knight are equally favorites. I mean Pinkie is president of Phoenix Appreciation Society."
All students please report to the courtyard. All students please report to the courtyard. The PA went off.
"Well, that was unexpected."
Much later, all the students were in the courtyard as they looked over Principal Celestia was large building with the Drake Industries Logo on it.
"Students, with great pleasure I present the new Drake History Pavilion!" She said through a megaphone with most of them having a mixed reaction.
"Oh come on, a history pavilion! Lame!" Rainbow Dash said as Rarity elbowed her.
"Have some respect, Rainbow," Rarity scolded her as Celestia went on.
"This great new addition to our school is a gift from Canterlot's finest philanthropist- Darius Drake!"
Drake lands nearby on a jetpack smiling and waving with the students cheering.
"Thank you. You're too kind," He smiled at the children. "This about me... it's about the children. And also snack bar are free until noon."
"Yes!" Pinkie cheered.
All the students went inside and gazed at the stunning displays as Drake started to talk.
"Everything historic figure in Canterlot City has existed, including... The Phoenix Knight," He gritted the last part as a statue of the Phoenix Knight was shown.
"Wow..." Everyone murmurs at the sight.
"Yes... I'm sure do love the Phoenix Knight, Why, if I was in grave danger I'd sure want her to save me!"
The moment he said that the Phoenix Knight bot came to life and grabbed Drake by his underwear.
"Ah! I'm in mortal peril!"
"That robo-knight got Drake!" A student said as most of them cringe.
"I think I speak for everyone when I say... RUN FOR OUR LIVES!" Pinkie screamed.
Then everyone headed for the exit.
"Somebody get the Knight, the REAL ONE!" Drake calls out.
With Sunset she got as well but hid behind a tree.
"I going to show the robo-dork what's up!" Sunset transformed into her alter-ego.
Phoenix Knight enters the museum arming her blade.
"Don't worry, Mr. Drake! The real Phoenix Knight is here to save you," Phoenix Knight said only to realize that room was empty. "That's odd, wasn't there a businessman getting a mad wedgie just now."
"Mr. Drake? Robo-Phoenix? Anybody? Where did they go?" She scoped the area then the exit was sealed off and all of the display came alive and cornered the knight.
"Ha! She's been duped!" Drake and Roland are watching them from the control room. "We pulled off a dupe!"
"Okay, this bad! Outnumber and have nowhere to go! You guys should've more friends," Phoenix Knight smirked as she fought.
"Densen, here's how I see the five minutes play. Knight destroyed. Shadow King is free. Me, rewarded with the superhuman power of my choosing!" Drake told him.
"That's amazing, sir, I don't how you pull that off," Roland rolls his eyes at him as Phoenix Knight slices the head of her counterpart and sends him out of the building.
"What should my power be? Flight? Lasers? Or even teleportation?"
"Uh, sir, you better look at this."
Drake runs up and sees the robots were destroyed by Phoenix Knight.
"Ugh! Do I have to do everything? Get me the Drake Smasher!"
Roland gives him a bow tie.
"This is Drake Smasher? Looks like a bow tie," Drake being unimpressed.
"Just put it on."
"I can never be able to pull them off," Drake groans as places it around his neck, and not a moment too soon armor appears around him covering the body. "Now we're talking!"
With Phoenix Knight...
"Okay, this doesn't add up, why did metal me go after Drake and then turn on me all of a sudden? Not to mention, the place went on lockdown the moment I came in here. Why do get the feeling that was a trap and I took the bait."
The wall behind her breaks, seeing the Drake Smasher in front.
"Hand over, Drake, giant robot... I'm sorry, who are you supposed to be," Phoenix Knight asked.
"I'm the guy who destroyed the Knight!"
"That's impossible! Nobody's ever-"
She gets punched in the face, crashing into a wall.
"Okay... now I see what you're doing," Phoenix Knight snaps out of it.
The robot fires lasers at her making her dodged them then Phoenix Knight leaped over him and sliced off the lasers off then the fire blasted the top off to see who was controlling it."
"Darius Drake?"
"Uhh..."
"Okay, this doesn't make any sense, the robot kidnap you, then forced you to fight me," Phoenix Knight said. "Wait a minute, how could he could do it. the only one way this all could have happen was that is was planned from the inside... but that would mean that you set this up and tried to destroy me."
"That's right, the most beloved man in Canterlot is going to BLAST YOUR FACE!" He said before having a hidden laser in the robot and blasted it.
Phoenix Knight deflected it with her sword making the whole building crumbling
"You're going down Drake! I'm telling everything about you."
"Good luck with that. I'm loved by everyone. I own this TOWN!"
"They I have to stop you, here and now!"
Then piece of the ceiling came in between them with Drake blasted the other columns, making the place collapse even more as he rockets through the celling.
Phoenix Knight avoided the rumble as she began to jump from failing pieces as she made it safely out of the pavilion before it came down. She looks to see her her new archenemy jet fly away while she glared under her helmet.
Then the students came to her.
“Did you save Drake?”
“Is he okay?”
“Yes... Drake is safe,” She said, making them smile is relief then teleported herself out.
Once school was over, Sunset was her place still thinking about what happened.
“I can’t believe, Darius Drake tried to destroy me but he thinks it’s but we only begun this little dance,” She brought her sword. “I swear by the great Phoenix, Drake shall sees the errors of his way.”
Phoenix Knight lets out a scream as she’s thrown harshly into a tree, causing it to tilt as she falls to the ground.
“Ow. that’s going to hurt...” She groaned as she picked herself up.
A large shadow covers her and she looks up to see the giant robot she has been fighting for the past few minutes. The robot tried to stomp her but vanished at the last second to leave a large footprint making it look around in confusion. But it didn’t last long as it found Phoenix Knight and chucked a large rock at her she sliced with her blade and then lunged at the robot but it did nothing as the robot grabbed her at the waist and then burped in her face.
“EWWW!” She exclaimed as she kicked him off and then gagged. “Robot breath! G-R-O-S-S!”
The robot tried to stomp her but she slid out of the way. She then eventually stumbles back in front of a cliff. Phoenix Knight sees a shovel uses her magic to grab it then swings it down. The robot’s head bobs around at the sudden attack, closing its legs and holding the attacked area. Then Phoenix Knight jumped behind the robot and kicked him over the edge of the cliff. Once it hits the bottom, it explodes, sending a pillar of heat and parts into the air and straight at her but she jumps out of the way.
“There’s stronger force the law of gravity!” She shouted. “A speaking of which I need to get to class!”
With just enough time, Sunset made it before the morning bell rang as she saw Rainbow and Applejack.
“Hey, guys,” Sunset greeted them at their lockers. “What did I miss?”
“Not much, just the fact I’m failing science. Ms. Breezeway didn’t like my science project,” Rainbow grumbled she remembered her project presentation to her did not go well.
“Maybe getting kicked in the face by a soccer ball is not exactly a project,” Applejack told her.
“And now I need to get at least in the top ten in the science fair to pass,” Rainbow said.
“That’s not so bad,” Sunset shrugged.
“I don’t even have a project to start and it’s tomorrow.”
“Oh yeah, that's a problem.”
“You better not be coming in here to tell me your robot failed to destroy the knight,” Drake warns Roland as the scientist enters the room then is followed by Sarah and Garble.
“Forget it,” He turns back and leaves the room.
“Get back in here! I’m not done yelling at you!” Drake shouted but he was already gone.
“Oh, Daruis. Inisdie voice,” Sarah says quielty.
“Yes, my little sugar knuckles.”
“Ooh, meatball sub,” Garble sees a fresh sub and eats it.
“Garble’s science fair is coming up, and I thought you two could do a little father-stepson bonding.”
“When is it?”
“It’s tomorrow,” She told him then he gritted his teeth.
“What the matter, couldn’t wait until the absolute last minute?”
“I know you’re busy with evil planning and so forth. But it sure would be well.”
“Anything, for my little butter face,” he smiled then Sarah took leave leaving the two men.
“Hey, don’t build me nothing dumb.”
“Densen, get in here!” He presses the intercom button.
“Only if you’re not going to yell at me.”
“I WON’T!”
The next day...
“Hey Rainbow, Pinkie what you have under the sheet?” Sunset asked.
“Only the winner of the science fair, Shimmer!” Rainbow exclaimed. “So don’t be disappointed when we win.”
“I believe it when I see it,” Sunset said under her breath.
“What’s your project?” Pinkie asked her.
“Oven less baked brownies. I’ve mixed the right chemical...”
“You had me at brownies!” Pinkie reaches for one, but she slaps her hand.
“Not until I get my grade.”
“Now, as you see, our students put a lot of thought into their projects,” Ms. Breezeway told Principal Celestia.
“Any chance one of them came with some sort of self-perpetuating artificial food?” She asked her.
“I don’t think so, why?”
“No reason. Certainly not because someone had diverted the semester’s cafeteria budget to reaping Mr. Dunlap's car.” Celestia said as they arrived at Sunset’s stand.
“Ah, Miss Shimmer, one of my best students, What is your project?”
“I’m glad you asked. Do you hate baking brownies and how much time and effort do they take? Well no longer do you have a messy kitchen because of my project! No oven brownies!” Sunset said showing her a plate to Breezeway and Celestia they took a bit and both of them smiled.
“My, god, these are delicious,” She exclaimed in delight and gave her an A.
“Yeah, I’m screwed,” Rainbow as she pulls her invention which came from a robot that Phoenix Knight destroyed.
She slammed the box on the ground then it started to shake, blasting a powerful laser that zapped a potato from Crash Clyde’s remote.
“Hey! My project!” He exclaimed as he fell on his butt as the potato mutating and coming to life.
“What the,” Sunset hears the roar, looking up to see the potato. “Okay, that something you don’t see everyday.”
It didn’t take too long for Sunset to spring into action as Phoenix Knight as she slice it only for two to appear she repeated the process until there was a small army of them.
“So much slicing, and I really don’t want to cause a massive fire,” She said then only her troubles got even worse as Roland had built a built a killer robot from Garble’s science project which got a C-.
“You have to be kidding me! Seriously!” Phoenix Knight exclaimed.
She jumped on top of the robot then the robot tried everything to shake her off and which squish the small potatoes till there was not a mutated potato left.
“Once again, gravity rules!” She said then looks to see the cat and as the animal tried to get out a small beeping sound.
“Oh crud.”
She jumps out of there just as it went boom. Once she landed, the cat landed on top her head as she let it down to the ground.
“Okay, this has been the weirdest day of my life,” She mummers to herself then headed out of the gym.
“Okay students, whose project caused the potatoes to mutate?” She asked them hoping for someone to spill as Sunset slides up to see everyone go silent. “Too bad, the person who just solve the school’s footage along with Sunset’s, would have shared first place.”
“Right her, ma’am!” Rainbow hold her hand up.
However, she later found her first place in the science also landed her cleaning up the gym.
“Why do I have to clean up?” Rainbow complains as she mops.
“Well, you created an army of mutated potatoes that almost overrun the school,” Sunset said to her.
“Last time, I hand in something else as my project. I’m so dead, when my parents find out.”
