It's Spike's birthday! His friends want to celebrate but they don't have a present! Time to play Blues Clues girls!
It's a special day in Canterlot City. It's Spike's birthday!!! He's excited to celebrate with his friends the Rainbooms and Steve. But the only issue is that they don't have a present for Spike!! When Spike and Steve go out to visit his brother Joe the girls have to play Blues Clues to figure this out!
One sunny morning we see 16 year old Spike sleeping in bed. Then his clock went off and he woke up. He turned it off and got dressed. He was so happy today because it was his birthday! He got on his phone and called his old friend Steve. He couldn't wait to celebrate any longer.
"Hey Steve!" Spike said.
"Hey little buddy! How you been?" Steve said.
"Im doing good. Listen it's my birthday today and I was wondering if you wanted to celebrate with me?" Spike said.
"Of course Spike! Im gonna make this the best birthday of your life!! You are gonna have so much fun!" Steve said.
"Thanks Steve. I'll see you at the house." Spike said.
"See ya there! Happy birthday Spike!" Steve said as Spike hung up.
Spike went out of his house and headed straight for Steve's house. But before he could he saw 7 girls coming to him. They were the Rainbooms. They all wanted to wish Spike a happy birthday.
"Hey Spike! You didn't think we forget your birthday did you?" Sunset said.
"No. Especially Pinkie Pie. She never forgets anyone's birthday." Spike said.
"Yep! Now that were all together let's head to my place for Spike's birthday!!" Pinkie said.
"Actually Pinkie im heading to visit my old friend Steve." Spike said.
"Spike. You never told us you had an old friend." Twilight said.
"Actually darling he met him when he tried to get me flowers for a date. He's nice so you all should meet him." Rarity said.
"Ok Rares. He sounds like a nice guy." Applejack said.
"Oh he is. He even taught me how to play Blues Clues." Spike said.
"Blues Clues? What's Blues Clues?" Rainbow said.
"It's a game where if you don't know the answer to a question then you can play Blues Clues to figure it out. You just need to find 3 things with a paw print on it." Spike said.
“Oh yes. That same game you played figuring out my Halloween costume. I remember it very well. Steve was a great friend of Spike.” Fluttershy said.
"Ok. Sounds simple enough. Now let's go meet your friend Steve." Sunset said.
The girls and Spike and went to Steve's house to meet him. Little did the girls know that soon they will play Blues Clues to figure out a present for Spike.
When the gang arrived at the front door Spike knocked on it. The door opened and Steve was so happy to see Spike. Especially on his birthday.
"Hey Steve! How's it going?" Spike said.
"Hey birthday boy!! Im so glad you're here! And you brought some friends! Nice to meet you all! Come on in!" Steve said.
The crew went inside and saw everything was decorated for the party. There were green and purple streamers and balloons everywhere. Spike was happy that his friend didn't forget.
"Oh Fluttershy! Im happy to see you again! It's been a while since Halloween." Steve said
"Yes. Im happy to see you again Steve." Fluttershy said.
"Wow. Looks like Steve really is friendly." Twilight said.
"I told you Twilight." Spike said.
"Oh um Spike. Since you and your friends are a little bit early will you like to go meet my brother Joe while everyone gets ready for your party?" Steve said.
"Sure Steve. You never told me that you had a brother." Spike said.
"Oh I do. We've been brothers since we were little. We even spent our first Christmas together." Steve said.
"Excuse us um Steve." Twilight said.
"Yes? Something you need?" Steve said.
"Well we were wondering if we can help out finishing up the party for Spike." Sunset said.
"Of course you can! Girls here's a favor I gotta ask. Im gonna take Spike out to meet Joe and plan some fun with him for his birthday. While were gone feel free to make yourselves at home. And if any of my friends need help you are more than welcome to give them a hand. Oh and Blue will keep you company." Steve said.
"Um who's Blue?" Rainbow said.
"Oh Blue is Steve's dog. She's a bit different but a clever puppy." Spike said.
Then right on cue Blue came out and the girls were smiling seeing a puppy in front of them.
"Well I be. That's why she's called Blue. She's a blue puppy." Applejack said.
"Yep. So Spike. You ready to have the best birthday ever?" Steve said.
"You bet I am Steve. Let's go man." Spike said.
The duo went out of the door leaving the girls all alone with Blue. But Pinkie was worried about something and that made the girls uneven.
"Um girls? There's something I gotta confess." Pinkie said.
"What is it Pinkie?" Twilight said.
"Yeah Pinkie. What exactly are you trying to confess?" Applejack said.
"Well I was so excited to celebrate Spike's birthday that I forgot about buying a present for him." Pinkie said sheepishly.
"WHAT?!" The girls said.
"Pinkie! It's Spike's birthday! How could you forget to get Spike a present?! Were his friends! We should care about him!" Sunset said.
"And im his girlfriend! He did so much for me! So we need to do the same!!" Rarity said.
"Im sorry girls! But I was stuck on Present Block! I wanted to get Spike something but I couldn't think of anything!" Pinkie said.
"Oh girls. What will we do?! Spike will be heartbroken if we don't do something!" Fluttershy said.
"We gotta think of a present and fast!" Rainbow said.
Then Blue barked telling them that she has the answer. This got their attention.
"Hey girls. I think Blue might know something." Applejack said.
"Oh that's great! So Blue. You know what present we can give Spike?" Fluttershy said as Blue nodded yes.
"Great! So what is it?" Rainbow said.
Then Blue went to the screen and placed a paw print on it. The girls went to it all confused.
"A paw print? How is a paw print gonna help us?" Rainbow said.
"Wait Rainbow. I think Blue wants us to play a game." Fluttershy said.
"We don't have time for games! We need to get Spike a present!" Rainbow said.
"Hold on darling! Spike told me about this on our date one time. I think Blue wants us to play Blues Clues." Rarity said.
"You mean that game Spike played to get you flowers?" Applejack said.
"Yes! So maybe this can help us!" Rarity said.
"Ok then. We'll play Blues Clues to figure out what present we can give Spike for his birthday." Sunset said as she started to sing.
They all singed and danced to the song. First it was Twilight who started the song. Next it was Fluttershy who sang the second verse. Then it was Rarity who sang the third verse. When we got to the end Blue jumped in front of the screen and the girls came up and said "That we wanna do!"
"Hehehehe!! That was a lot of fun!" Pinkie said.
"Yes Pinkie. But now it's time to look for Blues Clues so we can figure out what present we can give Spike for his birthday." Sunset said.
"Well let's get looking girls!" Rainbow said as the girls went off looking for clues.
The girls all went walking through the house to find the clues they need to find out what present they can give Spike. As they were doing this they decided to split up. Rainbow went with Fluttershy, Pinkie sticked with Applejack and Twilight went to the other room by herself. Which leaves Rarity and Sunset and by themselves. They continued looking and passed a collar with a paw print on it. Meaning it's a clue!!
"This sure is tough finding clues." Rarity said.
"Don't worry. We gotta find all three of them." Sunset said.
"A clue! A clue!" The reader said.
"What you say?" Rarity said.
"There's a clue!!" The reader said.
"You see a clue? Great! Where is it?" Sunset said.
"Over there!" The reader said.
They turned around and saw the collar with a paw print on it.
"Let's start off with an oval like this. Then a smaller one. Now add 2 lines and a square. One more line and a circle for the tag. And there a collar." Sunset said.
"Nice drawing. We finished the first clue too." Twilight said.
"Good job. Now were trying to figure out what present we can give Spike for his birthday. And our first clue is a collar." Sunset said as the image flew above them.
"So what present could we give Spike for his birthday with a collar?" Sunset said.
"Ooh! Maybe something that has a collar on?" Pinkie said.
"Maybe." Sunset said as she closed the notebook and the image flew back in. "But we better find 2 more clues so we can know for sure." Sunset said.
Suddenly they all heard A dragon roar.
"What the hay what that?!" Applejack said as Blue went to the source of the noise and the girls followed. It was A dragon in a picture Blue was making for Spike.
"Blue! There you are. I've been waiting for you. You gotta finishing painting me up." The dragon said.
"Um. Excuse me sir. Did you say that you needed to be all painted up?" Twilight said.
"You bet girl. But the trouble is I can't move my body since it's colorless. I can only move my head since it's red. Think you can help?" The dragon said.
"Sure. We be glad to help you return color to you darling." Rarity said as Blue skidooed info the picture.
"Great! Now I will say a color and a body part you need to paint. All you gotta do is match the color. First you gotta paint my scales and body orange." The dragon said.
"Can you show Blue the color orange?" Twilight said.
First Blue went to the green can but that's not it, then she went to a pink can but that's not it either, finally she went to the orange can and dived in covered in orange paint. She shook it off as it went on the dragon's body. He can now move his arms again.
"Aw yeah! Thanks Blue!" The dragon said.
"Good work!" Twilight said.
"That was awesome! But were not done yet. Blue can you paint my legs and spikes on my back marigold now?" The dragon said.
"Can you show Blue the color marigold?" Sunset said.
Blue jumped to a red can but that's not it, then she went to a pink can but that's not it either, then she went to a green can but was not it either, finally she went to the marigold can and jumped in covered in marigold paint. She shook it off as it went on the dragon's legs and spikes on his back. He can walk again.
"Thanks Blue! I can walk again! That was great! Ok you have one more part to paint. Can you paint my wings yellow?" The dragon said.
"Can you show Blue the color yellow?" Rarity said.
Blue jumped to a red can but that's not it, then she went to a yellow can and jumped in covered in yellow paint. She shook it off as it went on the dragon's wings. Once on he can fly again.
"Thanks Blue! Now I am complete!! A full colored dragon!" The dragon said.
The girls clapped at the success of Blue coloring the dragon. Then she skidooed out of the picture and went to the kitchen. The girls followed her and tried to see what she needs to do.
The girls went straight to the kitchen where we see Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, and little Paprika getting ready for the party. Paprika was making a picture for Spike while her parents were busy with the cake. They stopped when they saw the girls coming towards them.
"Oh hello! You must be Spike's friends!" Mr. Salt said.
"Yes we are. And you are?" Rainbow said.
"Oh im Mr. Salt. This is Mrs. Pepper. And that is Paprika." He introduced.
"Hi girls. Spike told us all about you." Mrs. Pepper said.
"He did? I mean of course he did!" Pinkie said.
"Yes but we have a problem. We need to finish making the cake. But we lost track on the patterns. Could you help us?" Paprika said.
"Never fear cause Pinkie's here!! I'll help you finish the cake!" Pinkie said.
"Thanks Pinkie! Now we have two layers and each one has a pattern. All you need to do is find out what's next in the pattern." Mrs. Pepper said.
"No problem! So the pattern on the first layer goes purple, green, purple, green, purple, green, purple.....uh oh there's a spot missing. Do you know what comes next?" Pinkie said.
"Green!!" The reader said.
"Oh yes! Green! It's next in the pattern! Good work!" Pinkie said as Mr Salt frosted the next spot green and continued on completing the pattern.
"Ok now let's see the pattern on the 2nd layer. It goes green stripes, purple polka dots, green stripes, purple polka dots, green stripes, purple polka dots, green stripes......uh oh. There's another spot missing. Do you know what comes next?" Pinkie said.
"Purple polka dots!" The reader said.
"Oh yeah! Purple polka dots! It's next in the pattern! Good job!" Pinkie said as Mrs. Pepper frosted the next spot and completed the cake.
"The cake is finished!! Thanks for your help Pinkie!" Mr Salt said.
"Your welcome! Now we gotta find more clues! Come on girls!" Pinkie said as they went out of the kitchen to find the the other two clues.
The girls split up again which left the group of Pinkie, Applejack, and Twilight all alone in the living room. But while they were looking they didn't notice that on the table there was a bowl with a paw print on it meaning it's the second clue!
"A clue! A clue!" The reader said.
"Yeah we know. How could Pinkie forget a present out of the blue?" Twilight said.
"I said sorry girls!" Pinkie said.
"We know Pinkie. Let's keep thinking of something." Applejack said.
"No a clue." The reader said.
"Oh you see a clue! Oh where is it?!" Pinkie said.
"Yeah. Where's that clue anyway?" Twilight said.
"It's right there!" The reader said.
They all looked and saw the bowl with a paw print on it.
"First a line down across to the right and up. Then we draw an oval and a smaller one for the inside. Color it in. Now we add a wave line on the bottom. And there a food bowl." Sunset said.
"Ok. So what present could we give Spike for his birthday with a collar." Twilight said as the image flew above along with the other. "And a food bowl?" She said.
"Maybe something that could have both of those things?" Rainbow said.
"Good thinking." Sunset said as the images flew back in. "But we need to find one more clue. Then we'll know for sure." She said as she and the others heard some singing.
"Where is that sound coming from?" Fluttershy said.
"Hey girls. It's mailtime!! We better go get it! Come on!" Twilight said as she and the others ran to get the mail.
She started singing as Blue danced along and when we got to the end she wailed 'Mail' out. Then Mailbox came in through the window as the girls all went to the Thinking Chair.
"Hey girls! I got a special letter all ready for you!" Mailbox said as he opened his lid giving Twilight a orange letter.
"Thanks Mailbox!" Twilight said as he left.
"We just got a letter!" Twilight said as she started to sing again.
When she finished singing she opened the letter as the others were curious to see who it was from. To their surprise it was from Spike!
"Look! It's a letter from Spike!!" Pinkie said as they all listened to what Spike had to say.
(In the Letter) "Hey girls! I hope your all doing ok. I know me and Steve are. We just finished meeting Joe and he was a nice guy. He does all sorts of fun things in Blue's special room! He really wanted to meet you but he couldn't. Maybe next time. Well im gonna be back in about 30 minutes. Maybe earlier. Once we return we can start the party! See ya soon!" Spike said.
(Out of the letter)
"Bye Spike!" Twilight said as she closed the letter and put it down.
"Twilight he'll be back soon! We need to find a present for him!!" Rainbow said.
"Relax Rainbow! We have two of the clues. We just need the final one. Let's go find Blue. Maybe she knows where it is." Fluttershy said as she and the others went to find Blue.
Meanwhile with Blue she skidooed into the picture of a present store. After she did the girls came and tried looking for Blue but they couldn't find her.
"Blue! Where are you darling?" Rarity said.
"Yeah we really need your help!" Rainbow said.
"Blue skidooed!" The reader said.
"Blue skidooed? There's no way she could have done that." Twilight said as Sunset looked in the picture.
"Twilight she did skidoo! Right into that present store!" Sunset said.
"A present store?! Maybe we find Spike a present there!" Pinkie said.
"Well what are we waiting for?! Let's go!" Rainbow said.
Then everyone did the skidoo dance and sang "Blue skidooed we can too!" And like that they all jumped into the picture of the present store.
Once in the present store the girls looked at their new surroundings and are surprised to be in the present store.
"Oh my stars! I just love the present store!" Rarity said.
"Do you think we'll find something for Spike here?" Twilight said.
"Yes darling! Okay Im gonna pick something that's from me first." Rarity said as she went to the stuffed animals.
"Oh looks at these adorable little toys. Which one do you think Spike would like the most?" Rarity said.
"The green teddy bear!" The reader said. Then a cash register came out.
"Wonderful choice." He said as he took the teddy bear.
"Ok that will be Spike's present from me." Rarity said.
"Oh Rarity. Look over here." Fluttershy said showing everyone cute little puppies playing around.
"Well aren't they cute little doggies. And there's a special green spotted puppy." Applejack said.
"Why yes." The cash register said getting everyone's attention. "His name is Nature Paw." He said.
"Nature Paw. Good name. Hey girls do you think Spike would like that little puppy for his birthday?" Twilight said.
"Oh he'll love it! Ok that will be Spike's present from all of us." Rarity said as the cash register wrapped up the presents.
"Wonderful. Here you go. One green fuzzy teddy bear and one Nature Paw puppy." He said.
"Thank you cash register." Rarity said as she paid him. She took the gifts and everyone skidooed out of the picture. Then they all went to the kitchen table and placed them on there. Then Rarity heard her phone go off. It was her boyfriend Spike calling.
"Hey Spikey. You doing okay?" Rarity said.
"Yeah Rares. Im calling to let you know that were coming back now." Spike said as Rarity was shocked.
"You are? Like now?" Rarity said.
"Yes. Is something wrong?" Spike said.
"Oh no darling. Nothing's wrong." Rarity said.
"Ok. We'll be back in about 10 minutes. See you then." Spike said.
"Ok darling thank you. Goodbye." Rarity said as she hung up. "Girls Spike is coming back in 10 minutes!!" Rarity said.
"Then we better hurry up and find our third clue!" Rainbow said.
The girls all agreed to find the third clue together. They all looked around but they couldn't find it. Suddenly they passed a toy bone with a paw print on it meaning it's the third clue!
"A clue! A clue!" The reader said.
"Yeah I know! What are we gonna do?!" Rainbow said.
"Calm down Rainbow. We still have time. We just need to find the last clue for Spike's present in case he doesn't like what we have." Fluttershy said.
"Girls there's a clue!" The reader said.
"Oh your saying you see a clue already? Well where is it?" Fluttershy said.
"Yeah where's the clue?" Rainbow said.
"On the bone!" The reader said.
The both looked on the floor and saw the toy bone with a paw print on it.
"To draw a bone we start off with a line across like this. Then a line that bumps like this. Now repeat it for the second time til it makes a full bone. There a bone." Sunset said.
"Hey Sunset. That was our third clue! We now have all three clues!" Twilight said.
"Your right Twilight! Which means were ready for the..." Sunset said.
"Thinking Chair!!" The reader said.
"Thinking Chair!" The Rainbooms said. "Let's go girls!" Sunset said.
They ran off to the Thinking Chair. What answer will they receive? Find out next time!
"...and a bone. What present can we give Spike with those things?" Rainbow said. The girls all started to think til Fluttershy had an idea.
"Well those things are usually found on pets. So maybe the present we can give Spike is some kind of pet." Fluttershy said.
"Good thinking Fluttershy. Maybe this pet wears a collar, yeah and all pets eat out of a food bowl, and maybe there's a pet that likes bones. But what pet would that be?" Twilight said as the clues connected like a puzzle. Then they formed the answer they need.
"A puppy dog!" The reader said.
"A puppy. Yes that's it! Cause puppies wear collars, they eat out of food bowls and they like bones! Blue!" Sunset said as Blue came out.
"Is a puppy dog what we can give Spike for his birthday?" Pinkie said. Blue nodded yes and the girls knew what it means.
"We bought the puppy not to long ago!" Rainbow said.
"We know Rainbow. But im glad we did cause we just figured out Blues Clues!!" Sunset said as the girls started to sing.
When they finished the song they saw Spike and Steve come in.
"Hey girls. Were back. Ready to start the party?" Spike said.
"Yes we are Spike. In fact let's give you our presents." Sunset said.
"Well alright then. Present time Spike!" Steve said.
Everyone went to the present table and Spike saw the two presents the girls got him. He opened the first one and saw a stuffed green teddy bear. He loved snuggling it very much. Rarity told Spike she got that for him and in return he kissed her on the cheek. Then everyone got the gift that they all thought for him.
"Here you go Spike. We hope you like it." Twilight said.
Spike opened the gift and got out a cute green spotted puppy. It barked and licked his face saying he likes Spike.
"Hey there little guy. Your a cute one aren't ya?" Spike said.
"Aww look at that. You got him a cute puppy. That is so nice of you girls." Steve said.
"Yep. We all played Blues Clues to realize that Spike wanted a puppy for his birthday." Applejack said.
"And his name Spike is Nature Paw." Fluttershy said.
"Nature Paw huh? I like that name." Spike said as he held the puppy. "Your coming home with me little buddy." He said and puppy licked his face. The girls smiled knowing that they got the perfect gift for Spike.
After 3 hours the girls all went home while Spike had to say his final goodbyes to Steve.
"Steve. Thank you for a special birthday. That meant a lot to me." Spike said.
"You are welcome Spike. I hope you had the best birthday." Steve said.
"Oh I did. Now I gotta head home. Gotta get Nature Paw here to his new home." Spike said.
"Okay Spike. See ya later bud. Have fun with your new puppy." Steve said as Spike left. Then he went to our readers.
"Thank you so much for helping the Rainbooms. Without your help they wouldn't have got that puppy. You were a big help." Steve said as he began to sing.
