The Date Night

*The ambience sounds of a city alive at night. Cars are driving and racing with the wind, the air rushing blowing pass you. People walking around as they go about their business.*
*You stand outside the restaurant, with the romantic music of accordions and a small guitar — called an chitarra battente — playing from inside the building.*
*The sound of footsteps in heels greeted your ears as you turn your head to see your date — Sunset Shimmer — walking up to you, in a sparkling new dress. No doubt, courtesy of her friend, Rarity.*
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Hi! Sorry I’m late. Rarity was helping me get the final touch for my makeup.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Huh? What? Oh!” *Giggles shyly* “Th-Thank you! This dress does match my eyes, I…Rarity picked it out for me.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
*Clears her throat* “So…where are we sitting?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Oh! Why thank you! So nice of you to hold the door for me.”
*Inside the restaurant, you can hear the romantic Italian music from the band loud and clear than it was heard from outside.*
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Wow, it’s so nice in here! Fancy too! I see why Rarity is extra strict about the dress code for tonight. But you know Rarity, fashion is her thing and she really wants us to look our very best.”
*You walked over to pull a chair out for Sunset to sit.*
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Oh, thank you!”
*Sunset takes her seat and you sat down on the opposite side of the table, sitting across her. A little bit later, a waiter came walking up to you.*
[Waiter]
“Good-a evening. I will-a be your-a waiter for tonight-a. Are you-a both-a ready to order?”
[Waiter]
“Ah, of course! What kind of-a drink would you-a like? Are you-a interested in the Campari cocktail? It’s-a wonderful!”
[Sunset Shimmer]
(To you) “Uh…I’m afraid we’re not old enough to drink that.” (To the waiter) “Can we just maybe get two cups of sparkling water? This one with the apple and tangerine flavor sounds nice.”
[Waiter]
“A-ha! Okay. I’ll-a be right-a back with your drinks.”
*The waiter walks away to get your drinks, leaving you and Sunset alone together to chat.*
[Sunset Shimmer]
*Clears her throat* “Ahem. So, I’m…I’m glad after everything we’ve been through, we can have this date. Wouldn’t you agree?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
*Chuckles* “For once, no Equestrian magic related problems. No life-and-death fiasco. And more importantly, no rampaging Demon Sorceresses…which applies to me, of course. Just two friends getting together for a fancy dinner. That’s all.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Hmmm? Well, yes. That’s true. I like sushi. I work at a sushi restaurant. But a girl can enjoy something else, once in awhile than just the usual norms. Besides, like Pinkie Pie always said: To better understand a culture, you have to sample its cuisines.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
*Laughs* “You know that Pinkie Pie. You never know what goes buzzing in that cotton candy head of hers. But she’s Pinkie Pie. And that’s how we love her. Right?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
*Sigh* “At least, I do now. Why did I ever despise her to begin with? Was I really that bad? Uh, don’t answer that! Actually, maybe you should answer it. I, uh…I need you to be honest. On a scale of 1 to 10, how bad was I?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
(Sounds rather solemn) “I see.”
*At that moment, the approaching footsteps of the waiter signals his return with your drinks.*
[Waiter]
“Hello! Here are your-a drinks!”
*The ice cubes click together in the cups, as the waiter gently sets them down on the table for you and Sunset to eat.*
[Waiter]
“Now then. Are you both-a ready to order? Or do you need-a more-a time?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
(Looks up at you) “Hmmm?” (You tell her what you would like and she tells the waiter) “We would like to have a big plate of spaghetti please.”
[Waiter]
“A good-a choice!” *He heads back into the kitchen* “Hey-a Joe! These-a two kids would like a big plate of spaghetti. Heavy on the meats-a-ball.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“So, back on topic. The old me was really that bad, huh? I mean, I don’t blame you, I was a real…b-word. I intimidate, I humiliate, and I’ve manipulated so many students and teachers of Canterlot High, just to satisfy my own benefits. Including you…”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“I remember how, after the Fall Formal, you would keep your distance and try to blend in with the crowds.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
(She talks in a low whisper) “Yeah, I’ve noticed. You really think the first time we officially met was during the Battle of the Bands? After we defeated the Dazzlings?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“I actually remember…just about every names of every people I’ve wronged.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“I know. At first, I wouldn’t care who anyone is, or were, and I was quick to forget their names. But that’s not me anymore. You know?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
(Sounds guilty) “Oh yeah. Then there’s Flash Sentry…” *Sigh* “I feel very bad for what I did to him. I mean, he must’ve really loved me, but I…I only dated him for the popularity…”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Hmmm? Oh, he and I are actually getting along a lot better now. We’re actually really good friends and he…he still gushes about Twilight. The Twilight from my world and…”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Oh. You’re right. Let’s just enjoy the night. It’s just us. No need to let the past dampen the mood. We have finals coming up, we’ll be graduating soon, and then, we’ll be out into the big world.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Yeah.” *Light chuckle* “It’s crazy how time flies. It’s exciting, but it’s also kinda freaking me out. The Rainbooms are going their separate ways, to different colleges, for different careers.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Me?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Oh. Yeah. I’m not going to any college, actually. Not yet that is. I’m still checking out the campus, the institutes, and what they’re teaching…”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“I’m afraid I haven’t figured out my future yet.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
*Strong exhale* “At first, I thought, once I graduate, then I would return home to Equestria. And from there, I’d probably find a job with Twilight. But then again, I was sorta thinking about what I would do here, in this world.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Like what? Oh you know. I could probably get into comic book writing. You know, like Stan Lee?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Aw thanks! I really did feel proud of myself when I drew that comic and shared it on Instagram.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
*Giggles* “Stop! You’re making me blush.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“But I’m not done yet. There’s also my games. You know how much I love to play video games, right? And how I would stream them? Well, I’ve heard how you could also earn money for making videos that are fun to watch and getting lots of subscribers. So a content creator is another option.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Also, you didn’t hear this from me, but…Twilight…Sci-Fi Twi, I mean. She and I are on the breakthrough of a brand new game that would revolutionize the entire gaming industry.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“I can’t really go into much details about it yet. We’re still working out some bugs. But once it’s ready, we’ll have it out soon.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“So, yeah. Comic book, gaming, content creating in general.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Hmmm? My power?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Uhhh, I don’t think every therapy, or doctors, in this world would be too keen on hiring some random woman who can look into their patients’ minds to really see the root of their troubles. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve used it lots of times. But only when the problem is related to Equestrian Magic. Y’know? I have standards…”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Anyway, enough about me. What about you? What are your game plans? By that, I mean, what do you hope to do in the future?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
(Fascinated) “Really? That sounds amazing!”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Hey, don’t worry. You can do it. I know you can! I believe in you.”
*The approaching footsteps of the waiter sounded, letting you both know that your dinner has at last arrived.*
[Waiter]
“Now here you are! The best-a spaghetti in-a town!”
[Sunset Shimmer]
(To the waiter) “Thank you!” (To you) “Well, let’s-a go.” *Stammers on her double-take* “Uh, I mean, let’s-a eat! No! I mean-a…” *Sunset laughs out loud* “Oh! Now they’ve got me doing it! Although…lately I’ve been playing a lot of Super Mario games ever since the movie came out. So, can you blame me?”
*You and Sunset proceed to eat your spaghetti dinner together.*
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Mmm-mmm! This is really good!”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Oh! We’re eating the same noodle…” *Giggles* “Come here.”
*Sunset Shimmer pulls you closer and locks lips with you for a long passionate kiss.*
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Wow. That was delicious.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“You, of course! And truth be told, I’ve been having a crush on you for a long while.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Ever since we started hanging out together, after the Dazzlings were defeated. I got to know you better and, I admit, you’re kinda cute.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Yeah. I said you are cute. You’re always on my mind. I couldn’t stop thinking about you; about the way you were looking at me from afar, and how you tried to play it off and pretend you weren’t when I caught you looking.” *Chuckles* “Don’t deny it. I saw you.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“And after we got to formally introduce each other, there was this spark that just lit up between us! I just love hanging out with you as much as I enjoy hanging out with my girls.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“You’re an amazing person! You’re smart, you’re talented, you’re fun, and…I hope this doesn’t make it a little more awkward between us. But I love you.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Aw! You feel the same way?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Ooh, I like the sound of that, sweetie. Now c’mere and let’s have another.”
[Sunset Shimmer]
(Soft whisper) “Hmmm, let the look~”
*Both you and Sunset Shimmer proceed to share a long passionate kiss. Soon after, you had finish your dinner — and paid the bill — you walk Sunset Shimmer back to her place.*

“Thank you for walking me home! I’ve had a pleasant dinner with you, and I…I’m just sad it had to be over so soon. But all good things must come to an end…”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Yeah. I would love to go on another date with you. But right now, we need to study for finals and get ready for graduation…”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Hey! I know! After we graduate, how about we go to the summer festival that came to town? And maybe a walk on the beach?”
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Then it’s a date!”
*Sunset walks over to kiss you on the cheek, before she walks back up to her doors.*
[Sunset Shimmer]
“Goodnight sweetie. See you tomorrow.”
