The epic conclusion to Sunset Shimmer's adventure.
The awaited battle between Sunset and her friends and Grogar and his goons is about to begin. That battle shall determine the destiny of both their world and Equestria. Luckily for our heroes, they got stronger and can count on the help of unexpected allies in this fight. However, even with those new factors, nothing guarantee our heroes' victory against a powerhouse like Grogar. In order to win, our heroes might have to put their lives on the line....
In town, Adagio, Aria, Sonata and Stygian were on their guards, looking for any signs of the enemy. They were at it since morning and were starting to get bored.
“How long will we have to wait before they show up?!” asked Aria. “My feets hurt from walking so much!!!”
“Not long, Aria” answered Stygian. “The eclipse will begin in about 10 minutes”
Aria let out a loud sigh and sat on a bench. Meanwhile, on board of a plane, Sunny and Moonlight were waiting in their seats. Sunny was being very excited and barely could stay in place while Moonlight remained calm and patient. 10 minutes later, as Stygian predicted, the solar eclipse started. It was at that moment Grogar opened a portal to send Tirek, Chrysalis and Sombra on their way. The battle was officially started and it promised to be intense for our heroes.
“They’re here...” Said Stygian. “Ready yourself girls, this is going to get ugly very soon.”
“Finally!!” shouted Aria. “Let’s kick their butts!!”
The small group headed for the location the villains appeared. A couple minutes was all it took for the two groups to cross paths.
“Not gonna lie, i was expecting the girls to show up...” said Sombra. “Not you traitors...”
“They’re kinda busy at the moment” said Stygian. “We’re here to hold you off until they’re back.”
“I can defenitively use a warm-up” said Tirek, cracking his knuckles. “If that’s a fight you want, shrimps, then we’ll give you one!!”
Stygian and the Sirens adopted a battle stance and readied their magic. Sombra, Chrysalis and Tirek did the same. Tirek was the one who drew first blood as he charged at Stygian with fists charged with magic. His Gleam immediately reacted and blocked Tirek’s attack and then counter-attacked with a blow to the guts that sent him flying in the air. Adagio didn’t waste time and blasted Sombra away with a supersonic soundwave coming from her gem.
“You like that?!” she asked. “It’s my Dazzle Scream!!”
Aria drew power upon her gem and tapped on the ground with her feet. She created a shockwave that blasted Chrysalis from below and into the air.
“And that’s my Blaze Wave, bitch!!” said Aria.
Chrysalis and Sombra quickly got back on their feet, only to be both struck by a powerful electric shock coming from Sonata’s fingers.
“And here is a taste of my Dusk Shock!!” shouted Sonata.
Sombra got up on his feet with barely a scratch. Chrysalis turned into a Roc and charged at the girls, beak and claws forward. Adagio pushed her back with a scream. Sombra started shooting dark magic blasts at them. Not far from them, Stygian and Tirek were exchanging blows. In a last effort, Stygian knocked him back. The villain had blood dripping out of his mouth that he swept away with the back of his hand.
“You’re strong, i’ve gotta admit” said Tirek. “But not enough to beat me...”
“I know” said Stygian. “But i can certainly give you a challenge...”
Tirek smiled and fired a beam of magic, that Stygian easily dodged. Then, quick as lightning, he rushed at Tirek. His right and left arms turned into magic hammers. Tirek was slammed with such force by the attack that he was sent flying blackward. But he didn’t stop at that and pulled Tirek toward him with a magic tentacle. Stygian hit him again, this time slamming the villain into the ground. Meanwhile, Chrysalis and Sombra were getting overwhelmed by the Dazzlings’ perfect battle coordination.
“Had enough yet?” asked Aria to the two villains. “Cause we’re just getting warmed up...”
Chrysalis and Sombra smiled, then laughed.
“What’s funny?!” asked Aria.
“Oh, nothing, really...” answered Chrysalis. “It’s just that seeing you 3 actually think you have the upper hand on us make me laugh...”
“We’re just toying with you...” said Sombra. “But playtime is over now...!!”
Both got up and walked toward the trio, suddenly unphased by the attacks.
“Then, we’re getting serious too!!” said Adagio. “Transformation!!”
The 3 girls turned into their magical forms. They then materialized their Equestrian form in the form of magical spirits.
“There it is....” said Sombra. “Your true power...But compared to ours, it’s nothing”
Sombra and Chrysalis’ powered up for a moment, then stopped.
“What incredible power...” said Adagio. “Such an overwhelming magical pressure...”
Her, Sonata and Aria we’re terrified by their opponents’ power, but they were not going to back down now. Meanwhile, after getting beaten up for some time, Tirek decided to stop playing around and fought seriously. Poor Stygian was barely able to defend against Tirek’s barrage of attacks, let alone hit him.
“Okay, girls” said Adagio. “It’s time to do it!”
“Do what?” asked Chrysalis. “There’s nothing you can do against us...”
The girls all looked at each other in agreement. At Chrysalis and Sombra’s surprise, they ran away.
“Stygian!!!” shouted Aria. “It’s time for plan B!!!”
Stygian heard her and started running away from Tirek, who was amused.
“Running away, uh?” said Tirek. “Where did all that bravado you had earlier went!!?”
Stygian threw an empty car at Tirek, who received it in the face. The dazzlings threw some smoke bombs at Sombra and Chrysalis.
“Damn those damn bitches!!” said Chrysalis. “I’m going to kill them!!”
“That little twerp!!” shouted Tirek. “Where did he go!!?”
That distraction let the group enough time to get some distance between them and the villains. But that only bought them a few minutes, before the villains caught up to the group. Tirek started firing beam after beam, destroying buildings and cars alike. Chrysalis turned into an Ursa Major and was also destroying everything in her path. Sombra looked at both of them in shame.
“We really pissed them off!!” said Adagio. “They’re going at it...”
“No!!!” shouted Sonata. “That was my favorite Taco Stand they just destroyed!!! You monsters!!!”
“Keep running!” said Stygian. “We need to get them out of town, you know!!”
The group kept on running away, and Tirek and Chrysalis, causing destruction. A couple minutes later, the heroes reached the woods, we’re they waited for their enemies to appear. Soon enough, the trio showed up in the forest as well.
“I see...” said Chrysalis. “You’re using the forest to get the odds in your favor...”
“That’s what they were up too” said Sombra. “Tirek, Chrysalis, burn that forest to the ground.”
Chrysalis turned into a dragon and started spitting flames. Tirek, as usual, just fired beams randomly. While they were distracted, Adagio and friends were charging up a powerful attack aimed at them. By the time the villains realized it, it was too late.
“YOU FELL FOR IT!!” shouted the girls. “Triple Dazzling Cannon!!”
Chrysalis and Sombra received the full force of the attack and yelled in agony. While Tirek was distracted, Stygian shot him with a powerful beam of magic that separated him from the others. When the dust and smoke settled, Sombra and Chrysalis were totally different. They powered up and transformed, emanating a dreaful magic aura. Stygian also felt the same dreadful aura emanating from Tirek. No doubt, they were done fooling around. Sombra and Chrysalis both grew wings and horn, looking more alike to their Equestrian form. As for Tirek, he grew horns, and his skin turned to a darker red. Stygian, Adagio, Sonata and Aria let out a loud gulping noise.
“Oh oh...” said Sonata. “Everyone!! Run for your lives!!!”
Tirek appeared behind Stygian, ready to beat him to a bloody pulp. His Gleam immediately reacted to the threat and pushed his host out of harm’s way. Chrysalis turned into an hydra and was blasting Adagio with flames. Aria and Sonata, them, were being targeted by a relentless barrage of projectiles thrown by Sombra.
“That’s no good” grunted Aria, who got hit to the leg by Sombra. “I’m really about to give up, Adagio!!”
“That guy’s too much for us!!” said Sonata. “We’re gonna be killed before the girls arrive...”
Adagio was badly injured.
“Retreating ain’t an option either!!” she said. “We knew what we signed for...”
Stygian’s Gleam was really worn down by Tirek’s relentless attacks.
“Not good” he thought. “My ribs are broken and my Gleam won’t hold on much longer...I guess this is the end for us...”
Adagio got slammed to the ground by Chrysalis. She powered down, out of strenght and concentration. Chrysalis turned back to herself and charged up a magic beam. Sonata and Aria were covered of dark crystals and unable to use magic anymore, as Sombra was about to petrify them. As for Stygian, Tirek finally wore out his Gleam and was about to finish Stygian with a laser blast. Adagio had a flashback of her and her sisters getting Platinum on their first album. She remembered how much joy it brought them. She also remembered a moment where she had been awfully mean to Sonata and felt regret. Sonata remembered celebrating their Platinum on their first album, an evening she would never forget. She ate too much tacos, and regretted it the next morning. She remembered Adagio visiting her to the hospital when she got sick, staying at her bedside all night. Aria looked back at some choices she made in the past and remembered a particular night when Moonlight and her had a talk and wished she had the courage to go for the kiss. Stygian, him, remembered the good times he had with Starswirl and the rest of the Pillars. That made him regret even more giving in to the darkness and turn on his friends. They all closed their eyes, accepting their fate.
“Die!!” shouted Sombra, Chrysalis and Tirek at the same time.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Sombra and Chrysalis’ attack missed and were sent right back at them. As for Tirek, he was interrupted by a fire blast coming from above that forced him to dodge. This one looked up to see where that attack came from.
“I’m behind you, dumbass!” said a feminine voice.
Tirek turned back and saw Sunny glaring at him, holding Stygian in her arms. On Chrysalis and Sombra’s side, they were still trying to figure out what happened. When they saw Moonlight appear between them and the Dazzlings, they were surprised. Even more when he healed Adagio and the others. They opened their eyes and saw Moonlight smiling at them.
“Moonlight?!” said Adagio, confused.
“Don’t worry, i’m on your side” he answered.
“On our side?” asked Aria.
Moonlight faced Chrysalis and Sombra.
“Moonlight?! What’s the meaning of this!!” asked Chrysalis.
“The answer is obvious, Chrysalis” answered Sombra. “He’s a traitor...”
“If you knew my backstory” said Moonlight. “You’d understand why i’m doing this...”
“I don’t know your backstory” said Chrysalis. “But i did sense lot of hatred coming from you, at Grogar. An searing, burning, silent hatred. The kind of hatred i have toward your kind”
Meanwhile, Stygian opened his eyes and saw Sunny standing next to him.
“How can you betray us?” asked Tirek. “Moonlight, i’d understand, but you?”
“I found something else worth protecting more than Grogar” she answered.
“Who? That shrimp over there?” said Tirek mockingly.
“Partially, yes” said Sunny. “But he’s not the main reason i’m doing this...”
”Something worth protecting...” thought Stygian. ”If it’s not me, then who is so important to her that it would have her betray HIM?”
“Whatever your reasons are” said Tirek. “If you stand against me, i’ll destroy you...”
“Just you try...” said Sunny. “You might be strong...”
“...But we’re even stronger!” said Moonlight.
In his castle, Grogar was shocked to see Moonlight and Sunny turn on him.
“Moonlight, i’m not surprised” said Grogar. “He hated me with all his being, so it’s only natural he’d turn on me the first occasion he got. But Sunny? I don’t understand. I was her everything...I always treated her nicely and with care...Why would she turn on me like that? As far as i know, Moonlight’s her only family...Unless. No! That would be impossible, The only baby she ever gave birth to died. Did she lied to me? No, she didn’t fake those tears...Her sadness was real. Unless...could Moonlight have used Memory magic on her to give her false memories of this day? He would really go that far for her? To protect her from me? Well, he probably knew what i was going to do with the child, so i don’t blame him.”
He punched through the wall of his room in his rage.
“Eh...whatever...” he said to himself. “It’s only a minor setback...And it’s an occasion to see how powerful they became...”
Moonlight, Sombra and Chrysalis were gauging each other. Earlier, he used his time magic on the girls, and also Stygian, to heal them (It’s not healing, to properly say, Moonlight just reversed the flow of time on their bodies to one where they were not injured)
“You 3 can rest” said Moonlight to the Sirens. “I can handle those 2 myself”
Sombra let out a loud laugh. Chrysalis felt a chill down her spine.
“Sorry, Sombra, but you’re on your own!!” she said.
She flew away from him. Adagio and her sister immediately went after her, managing to block off her escape.
“Still want to fight, worms?!” shouted Chrysalis. “Then let’s fight to the death!!”
“Last time, it was just you and me” said Adagio. “But it’s 3 against one, now...Your friend Sombra won’t save your ass this time around.”
“Pfft” said Chrysalis. “Even if you were healed, your magical energy should still be depleted.”
“That’s what you think, Chrysalis” said Moonlight. “Hey, girls!! Your magical energy is fully replenished!! Same for you, Stygian!!”
Adagio, Aria and Sonata powered up, same for Stygian, who was standing alongside Sunny.
“Time for round 2, baby” said Stygian. “Our powers combined will wipe the floor with this brute”
Sunny was surprisingly shocked by Stygian newfound confidence.
“I really want to fuck you so badly right now!” said Sunny to him. “But first, i’m gonna trash the guy who beat you to a pulp”
Sunny turned into an humanoid hybrid of an hydra and a wyrm and charged at Tirek. This one blasted her with a beam, that she dodged by diving underground. Next thing he knew, Tirek got punched in the nuts. Stygian made a grimace, feeling for him.
“You fucking bitch...” said Tirek, with a squeeky voice.
He didn’t have time to react that he received a barrage of punches from below, courtesy of Sunny, the finishing blow sent him flying in the air. Sunny got out of the ground and turned back to normal. Tirek already recovered from the attack and was grinning. Stygian tripped him over with a magic tentacle and Tirek fell off on his butt. Fast as lightning, Sunny moved the ground under him and lauched Tirek in the air again. Stygian grew magic wings, rushed toward Tirek, and barrage-punched him. Sunny joined in started doing the same in Tirek’s back.
“Double Barrage!!” they shouted.
They finished their assault with a double diving kick to the face. Tirek crashed on the ground, causing a shockwave.
“And we’re not done yet!!” said Sunny. “Full transformation: Salamander and Wyvern!!”
Sunny turned into a massive dragon hybrid.
“I won’t be outdone!!” said Stygian. “Magic Configuration: Dragon!!”
Stygian’s Gleam turned into a dragon, with him inside. Sunny combined the power of wind and fire to create a mega-powerful blast of fire and Stygian blasted a huge magic laser from the dragon’s mouth. The two projectiles hit their target, causing a massive explosion. Meanwhile, Moonlight was humiliating Sombra.
“Damn it!!” he shouted. “You can’t just keep doing that!!”
“Not my fault of none of your moves can touch me” said Moonlight. “Just step down, Sombra, you’re not the opponent i’m looking for.”
“SHUT UP!!” he yelled, angry.
He rushed toward Moonlight with the energy of despair.
“Oh well...Can’t be helped, i guess” said this one.
He immobilized Sombra with time magic and then blasted him with an explosion spell in the guts. When time resumed for Sombra, this one was sent flying backward violently. Moonlight appeared behind him and blasted him again, this time, toward the sky. He then reappeared again above Sombra and hit him with two magic blast to the chest. Sombra fell down like a meteorite and hit the ground violently. As for Chrysalis, she was at the complete mercy of the Dazzlings, who kept spamming their moves like pro-gamers in a competitive match.
“It’s time for the Finale, girls!!” said Adagio. “Let’s blast her!!”
Their magic avatars fired a huge-ass beam at the fallen queen, followed by a huge explosion. Grogar, who was seeing the battle live, smiled.
“Rise, my fallen warriors. I, Grogar, won’t let you fail your mission!” he shouted.
The villains’ magical artifacts suddenly glew bright. The next instant, Sombra, Chrysalis and Tirek were back up at full health and strenght. Moonlight let out a small sigh of impatience.
“Not good” said Stygian. “Grogar must be using magic to juice them back up to full health.”
“And so can i” said Moonlight. “He’s only delaying the inevitable...”
Although their injuries had been healed, Sombra, Chrysalis and Tirek’s started to doubt their chances at winning their fights.
“This fight will lead us nowhere” said Sombra. “If both you and Grogar are able to bring us back to full health once we fall, then this battle might never end.”
“And we both know that neither of us can run away” said Moonlight. “Grogar’s holding you on a leash, isn’t he? Those artifacts he gave you sure gave you a lot of power, but they’re also a mean for him to control you.”
“Isn’t the Alicorn Amulet also one of the artifacts he created?” asked Sombra. “The one you’re wearing right now? Certainly that mean he can control you too.”
“No chance” said Moonlight “I gave it back to Twilight, after i took the magic of the amulet for myself, of course. Long story short, the Alicorn Amulet’s powers reside within me now. More precisely, absorbing the Alicorn Amulet’s magic turned me into an Alicorn.”
“As for me” said Sunny. “I absorbed the magic of every dragon’s Dragonlord Scepter. More precisely, i was granted enormous power by the Dragonlords themselves. My magic ain’t as broken as my brother’s, but my immense raw power more than make it up for it.”
“Let’s head back to Canterlot” said Chrysalis. “Grogar, please send us back in town, that place isn’t fun to fight in anymore...”
The trio was teleported on Grogar’s whim.
“Is that true?” asked Adagio. “Did you really...?”
“Of course not” said Moonlight. “Turns out i didn’t even need the powers of the Amulet in the first place.”
“Wait, what?” said Stygian. “I mean, what was the amulet’s power?”
“The Alicorn Amulet grant to those who wear it the ability to cast any type of spell they want” answered Moonlight. “That’s what Twilight told me anyway. And it turns out the ability i possess already allow me to do the same thing than the amulet. So carrying it around was just not necessary anymore.”
“So, you’re that powerful all by yourself?” asked Aria.
“Power wise, yes, i’m on the same level as an Alicorn.” answered Moonlight. “Kinda like Starswirl the Bearded. It’s a power i cultivated for centuries. Also, she gave me this artifact after i helped her with some tasks.”
Moonlight showed them a mysterious pendant. He also casted a spell around them to prevent Grogar from hearing them.
“This pendant was made with the crystalline wood from the Tree of Harmony itself” he said. “Twilight told me it was infuse with it’s magic and that as long as my heart is righteous, i could call upon it’s power to draw an endless amount of magical energy from it. I want to protect Sunny, and i want Grogar to pay for what he’s done to me and many others. From the bottom of my heart. I also want to redeem myself, and save those 3 morons from Grogar’s clutches. I want to save everyone that can be saved...”
“The look in it’s eyes” thought Stygian. “It’s the same look that Starswirl used to have when facing hardships...A look of righteous fury...”
“Yeah yeah...” said Sunny, pulling Stygian by the arm. “But let’s not waste time and get back to Canterlot already.”
She turned into a Wyvern-Quetzacoalt dragon hybrid and told everyone to climb on her back. She took off and headed toward Canterlot. They reached their destination in only a couple minutes.
“They’re over here!!” shouted Sonata.
The group landed with style on the ground. Sunny turned back to a more human-like form and was flying above everyone.
“Well, it look like the eclipse has passed” said Stygian. “That mean the main force is going to be here soon!”
“I’m going to do them a favor and take out those 3 before they arrive” said Moonlight.
“You can try all you want” said Chrysalis. “You can slice us up to pieces, send us in another dimension, tear our hearts out or disintegrate us to dust, doesn’t matter, because Grogar can patch us right away.”
“So, he literally won’t let you die until his bidding is done” said Moonlight. “Is that how desperate you are without us, Grogar?”
He looked at his pendant.
“No, i swore to only use it’s power to defeat Grogar...” he thought. “I’ll let the girls deal with saving those 3 from Grogar’s cruelty. That’s my secret weapon and Grogar’s not allowed to know about it. That’s why i set up that anti-spying spell before talking about it to them.”
Moonlight looked at the villains
“Let’s just stall them for now” he thought.
He turned to the heroes.
“Here’s what we’re gonna do” he said. “We fight until THEY arrive.”
Moonlight opened the hostilities and rushed toward Tirek, followed by Aria. Stygian and Sonata went for Sombra and Sunny and Adagio, for Chrysalis. Upon touching Tirek, Moonlight froze him in time with his magic.
“Blast him, Aria!!” he said to her. “He won’t be able to do anything”
Aria followed his advice and unleashed a torrent of magical attacks upon her enemy. Moonlight undid the spell on Tirek, causing him to be smashed in the air by the accumulated kinetic energy of Aria’s attacks. Not so far from them, Stygian and Sonata were unleashing hell on their opponent. Stygian was blocking Sombra’s attacks while Sonata attacked him. But Sombra was also wearing down his opponents, since some of his attack managed to hit the duo. Sunny, her, was keeping Chrysalis on her toes, occasionally assisted by Adagio’s supersonic waves. Tirek got back on the ground and almost squished Aria to a bloody pulp.
“I don’t know what just happened, right now” he said. “Did you stop time?”
“I froze you in time, if that’s what you’re wondering” answered Moonlight. “And i can do it again, and again, and again.”
“But you need to touch me first” said Tirek. “I won’t let you touch me again.”
Without warning, Tirek disappeared and reappeared behind Aria. But his attack was stopped by an invisible wall. Aria got away and blasted Tirek.
“Another one of your tricks?!” shouted Tirek.
“One of many, actually.” answered Moonlight. “And i’m holding back on you, you know. You’ll already be dead by now, but i want to save you and that’s why you’re still alive”
“Because you think you can save us?” said Tirek. “Even the Elements of Harmony can’t save us. Grogar can just re-energize us back up to full power. And if we were to have a change of heart, Grogar would kill us without hesitation. It’s a go for broke situation for us; We beat you, Grogar reward us, we fail, Grogar kill us.”
“You really think they can stop us, Grogar!?” shouted Moonlight. “I know you’re watching...Just let them go and face me yourself! It’s you i want dead, not them!”
“Same goes for me as well, my dear Moonlight” answered Grogar by forced telepathy. “I have no interest in you, the girls are who i’m after. But don’t worry, once i’m done with them, i’ll finish the job i should have finished 3000 years ago...by killing you, that whore you call your sister and her precious daughter. No, i got a better idea...i shall have her kill her own daughter, then have you kill your own sister, then finish you myself. But your dead will be a slow, painful one...”
“And people call me sadistic...” said Chrysalis.
“Not even i’m that cruel!!” said Sombra.
“That seriously fucked up, dude!” said Tirek.
“Shut up, you 3, and get back to work!” shouted Grogar.
He took over their minds in an instant. The trio started attacking the heroes again.
“...And that’s when you girls arrived!!” said Moonlight, back to the present. “Be aware of those 3, even if you manage to depower them with your Rainbow Laser, Grogar can and will replenish their power...”
“This is why we need to destroy the relics they’re wearing first.” said Sunny. “They’re likely what allow Grogar to power them up as well as controlling them.”
“Tirek’s relic is around his waist, Chrysalis’ relic is on her forearm and Sombra’s relic is on his head” said Stygian.
“They’re probably indestructible” said Adagio. “So our only bet is to remove the relics from their bodies.”
“Also, look out for Nightmare” said Aria. “The creep still hasn’t shown himself”
“So, how do we proceed?” asked Moonlight to Sunset.
She looked at her friends and told everyone to get closer. She then explained her plan to them.
“Couldn’t have come with a better strategy myself” said Moonlight. “And that come from a master strategist...”
“Master strategist, you?” asked Rainbow Dash. “Ha!! Good one!”
“I was the one to come up with the famous Trojan Horse strategy, by the way.” said Moonlight. “Why do you think they used a horse as model? I was also the one who taugh Alexander the Great about war strategies...I was also the one who poisoned him...”
“Why?” asked Sunset.
Moonlight pointed at Sunny.
“Because the bastard slept with my whore of a sister...” answered Moonlight. “That was the straw that broke the camel back.”
“I wonder how much of our History you two are responsible for?” asked Twilight.
“A lot” answered Sunny. “From Ancient Egypt to the 20th century, we’ve been behind almost every major event.”
“It’s easy to get bored when you’re immortal...” said Moonlight.
“Have you worked for the Nazis?” asked Pinkie Pie.
“Anyway, enough chatting” said Moonlight, ignoring the question. “You have a world, no, two worlds to save!”
“I’ll take that as a yes” said Pinkie Pie.
“We didn’t work for the Nazis” answered Sunny. “But we did kill their supreme leader!”
“Even we and Grogar have standards, believe it or not.” said Moonlight.
“You killed Adolf Hitler?!” said Rainbow Dash. “Awesome...”
“Shot him right in the head!” said Moonlight.
“And i burned down his bunker!” said Sunny.
“Wait, why are we still chatting?” asked Moonlight. “We have a world to save!!”
Sunset Shimmer, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Twilight Sparkle were facing Tirek, Sombra and Chrysalis. Taking a break from the battle were Stygian, Adagio, Aria, Sonata and Sunny. As for Moonlight, he was looking for Nightmare.
“We were waiting for you to show up” said Sombra. “Maybe you can give us a good fight...”
“We’ll give you the fight of your life, alright” said Rainbow Dash. “Not that it’ll be much of a fight for us...”
“We’ll see about that...” said Chrysalis. “Still, we’re largely outnumbered here...”
“Outnumbered, but not outmatched...” said Sombra.
Chrysalis transformed into a dragon, Sombra summoned a shadow sword and shield and Tirek jumped in the air. They all charged at the heroes at the same time. They were targeting Fluttershy first, considering her the weakest of the 7. How were they surprised when she elegantly dodged their attacks with the grace of a cat. She landed a kick behind Sombra’s head and landed safely behind the group. Rainbow Dash used her opponents’ moment of vulnerability to get some free hits in. Applejack then punched Chrysalis and sent her flying a hundred meters away. Twilight and Pinkie bombarded Tirek with magic projectiles and Rarity and Sunset were fighting Sombra. The villains quickly realized they’d have to go full power to take the upper hand.
“3 against one?” asked Sombra, figthing both Fluttershy, Rarity and Sunset at the same time. “That’s a bit unfair, don’t you think?”
“Strenght in numbers” answered Sunset, wielding a magic blade. “We know your weaknesses.”
“Moonlight told you all about us, uh?” asked Sombra, grinning.
“On how to beat you? Absolutely” answered Rarity.
[Earlier]
“So, here’s the plan” said Sunset. “Applejack and Rainbow Dash will fight Chrysalis. A.J’s strenght and Rainbow’s speed will overwhelm her for sure. Pinkie Pie, Twilight, you’ll deal with Tirek...You’ll fight him at distance and barrage him with projectiles. From what Moonlight told us, He’s not good at long range fights. Me, Rarity and Fluttershy will fight Sombra at close quarter. Moonlight told me that he’s a versatile fighter, but isn’t that good in close-quarter combat. Sunny, Stygian, Aria, Sonata and Adagio, be ready to jump in if things get rough for us. Moonlight, you’re gonna look for Nightmare and defeat him if you can. If anything unexpected should happen, we’ll retreat and change strategy.”
[Back to the present]
“Not good” thought Sombra “I have to transform!!!”
Sombra turned into his cloud form and tried to get away. Rarity immediately reacted to his move by trapping him inside a crystal cage, forcing him to go back in his physical form.
“That magic...” said Sombra. “It’s the same magic than the Crystal Heart’s...But how?”
“Surprised?” asked Rarity. “That’s one of the new properties my magic has gained!!”
“Nobody will come to your rescue, Sombra.” said Sunset.
Meanwhile, Chrysalis was doing her best to keep up, but between Rainbow Dash evading all her attacks and Applejack hitting her like a truck, she was outmatched. No transformation could make her fast enought to keep up with Rainbow or though enough to endure A.J’s attacks. For Tirek, things weren’t better for him. He tried getting up close to Pinkie Pie and Twilight, only to get sent back each time by their magic. When Twilight wasn’t throwing him around like a ragdoll, Pinkie was bombarding him with an endless supply of sticky, explosive projectiles. He tried beaming them, but they dodged them with ease. Seeing that massacre, Grogar decided to spice things up.
“I think it’s time to send in my Legion of Monsters” he said. “Rise!!”
All over the city, magic portals suddenly opened, pouring out an army of evil creatures and monsters from all corners of Equestria and beyond. Among them were 50 Timberwolves, 2 Hydras, 2 dozens of Yetis, a hundred Chimeras and Umbrums, 5 Cockatrices, a dozen of feral Bugbears and Manticores, 30 Giant spiders and scorpions, 20 Megalligators, 2 Ursa Major and Cerberus, who had been brainwashed.
“You know what to do!!” shouted Sunset to Sunny.
She nodded and with the others, they dispersed around town to fight the monsters. Some of them attacked Sunset and her friends. They were forced to concentrate their effort on the new threat ahead, leaving Chrysalis, Sombra and Tirek the opportunity to strike back at the heroes.
“You didn’t think it would be that easy, didn’t you?!” asked Sombra.
A Timberwolf jumped on Rarity, quickly intercepted by Fluttershy.
“Think you can tame some of them, Fluttershy?” asked Sunset.
“If they are driven by any sort of feral instinct, then yes, it’s possible” she answered.
A group of Umbrums tried to free Sombra from his prison, with no avail.
“The white girl...” he said. “She’s the one casting the spell.”
The creatures attacked Rarity. Although Sunset and Fluttershy did their best to protect Rarity, many Umbrums passed through and injured Rarity. She lost her concentration, allowing Sombra to break free.
“Good to see you again, Brother” said one of the Umbrums.
Sombra caught him by the neck, pissed off.
“Just looking at you make me sick” he said. “Do you know how much suffering i went through because of you, you wretched vermins? I loathe your kind with every single atom of my body. Knowing i’m one of you revolt me so much...”
He released the Umbrum.
“I don’t need your help, so get lost!” he said.
The horde of monster was causing unprecedented damages to the city. Fluttershy was able to convert a lot of them to her cause, including Cerberus, and soon, a civil war between them happened.
“Good work, Fluttershy!!” shouted Rainbow Dash.
Sunny was burning down the horde of Timberwolves one by one. Stygian and the Sirens were taming the horde of Bugbears. Moonlight was fending off a large group of Umbrums, vaporizing them with Crystal magic. (He secretely learned it from Princess Amore herself, to keep the side effect of using Umbrum magic from hurting him).
“Fall back!!” shouted an Umbrum. “This one can use Crystal Magic!!”
The specters quickly fled away, and Moonlight continued his search for Nightmare. Seeing that the heroes were slowly, but efficiently mowing down his army of beasts, Grogar got mad.
“You never cease to surprise me, Moonlight.” he said. “What other magic did you learned behind my back, i wonder?”
He contacted Nightmare, who had taken possession of Cozy Glow’s body.
“Nightmare” said Grogar. “Moonlight is looking for you...Don’t let him find you or that plan of yours won’t work.”
“So, he turned on you, uh?” said Nightmare. “He won’t find me, you can be certain of that.”
Grogar cut off communications with him. Using his dark, forbidden magic, he juiced up the Hydras and Ursa Majors.
“What just happened?!” asked Applejack. “They’ve gotten stronger and faster all of a sudden!!”
“Must be Grogar’s magic at work.” said Twilight. “Remind me how we’re supposed to take him down?”
Sunset was trying to read Sombra’s mind to find any weaknesses she could use against him. Before he rejected her from his mind, she was able to get a name out of him: Radiant Hope.
“What does that Radiant Hope mean to you?” asked Sunset to him.
“Nothing, not after she betrayed me” he answered. “She was the first and only friend i ever had. But that’s in the past now...She’s been dead for a thousand years, now.”
“What if she didn’t betray you, but instead tried to help you?” asked Rarity. “I don’t know her, but i know that a true friend would never betray another.”
“I didn’t asked for her help” said Sombra. “No one could have helped me and nothing could have been done to help me. I sometime wished i was not born an Umbrum. Maybe my life would have been a happy one was i born in the Crystal Empire.”
Sunset felt sympathy for Sombra.
“Don’t look at me like that...” said Sombra. “I do not need your sympathy. I’m past the point of no-return.”
“I promise i will save you!!” said Sunset. “I will save all of you!!”
Tirek joined forces with Sombra. Sunset peeked into his mind and caught a name: Scorpan.
“You still care for him, do you?” she asked to Tirek. “Despite his betrayal, you can’t bring yourself to hate him, am i right?”
“One of us had to be the villain” said Tirek. “And it had to be me...My parents were driving me crazy, especially my father, so i figured out that being disowned by my family would be my only way to a life of freedom. If i did something so bad that it would result in me being banished from my homeland, then i’d be free from the burden of royalty.”
“I see...” said Sunset. “But you never got to enjoy your freedom, didn’t you? You were defeated by the Princesses and sent to Tartarus for your crimes against Ponykind.”
“It was still miles better than having to endure my overbearing mother and judgemental father all the time” said Tirek with a grin.
Chrysalis joined in as well.
“Don’t bother reading my mind” she said to Sunset. “You won’t find anything to use against me. I have no attachement to anyone.”
“I know that as a queen, you tried your best to ensure the survival and wellbeing of your hive.” said Sunset. “Victim of your parasitic nature and survival instincts.”
Chrysalis was perplexed by Sunset’s words.
“And despite everything i did for them, they turned on me at the first occasion they got!!!” she yelled. “I swore that i would destroy them all and i will, once you and your friends are dead!!!”
Chrysalis knocked Sunset back and retreated. Sombra and Tirek did the same.
“We’ll be back, mark my words!!” she shouted.
“So, what now?” asked Twilight.
“For now, we deal with those creatures...” answered Sunset.
The group had already neutralized ninety percent of the monster horde. Only the hydras, both Ursa Major and a handful of Bugbears, Umbrums, Timberwolves and Megalligators were left. Seeing this, Grogar called back the remaining monsters.
“Playtime’s over!!” he said. “It’s time for them to fight my Boss Gauntlet! I’ll send all of my most powerful generals, the 10 Elites of Darkness...Or rather, the 8 elites of Darkness, since Moonlight and Sunny changed side. And i know exactly who to send first.”
He recited a formula while drawing a summoning circle.
“Kleaver!!! Shredder!! Ragna!! Razor!! Shira!! Hearts!! Silva!! Flare!!! I summon you from the depts of the Limbo!!” he shouted. “Do my bidding once more!!”
Eight shadowy beings appeared in front of Grogar. They instantly took a human form and looked at their master. 4 were male and 4 were female. The tallest one, Kleaver, had a dark grey skin and ashen hairs. He was wearing a priest outfit. Next to him was Shira, a goth girl with long dark purple skin and black hairs. Next was Shredder, a buff guy with dark blue skin and no hairs. He was wearing a biker outfit, with the shaded glasses. Then was Ragna, a guy with pale grey skin and red and orange hairs. He was wearing a western-like outfit. After him was Silva, a tomboyish girl with silver skin and short, blonde hairs. She was wearing a pair of mini-shorts, a white t-shirt and a black leather jacket. Then there was Hearts, a girl with olive skin and dark green hairs. She was wearing animal fur and a teeth necklace. Finally, there was Flare, a girl with white skin and golden hairs. She was wearing a black bikini armor made of unknown metal.
“Finally!!” said Kleaver “It’s good to breathe fresh air again!!”
“What’s our mission?” asked Shredder.
“I see you summoned all of us, well, almost...” said Ragna “Where are Sunny and Moonlight?”
“Unfortunately” answered Grogar. “They defected to the enemy side...”
“I told you those 2 were not trusthworthy” said Razor.
“That’s sad...” said Shira. “I really liked Moonlight...”
“I’m not” said Hearts “I always hated Sunny’s guts. That slutty behavior of hers was disgusting.”
“Do we really need to kill Moonlight?” asked Silva.
“If he’s betrayed us, then yes, we have to” answered Flare. “I know you loved him, but he never loved you back.”
“Your task will be to get me those 7 girls’ geodes.” said Grogar. “Kill them if you have to”
He then showed a picture of Sombra, Chrysalis, Tirek, Moonlight and Sunny.
“Don’t attack them” said Grogar. “Sombra, Chrysalis and Tirek are our allies, and i want to keep Sunny and Moonlight alive, for now. You can get rid of the rest no problem.”
“What if Sunny or Moonlight challenge us?” asked Razor.
“They won’t” answered Grogar. “The 10 Elites can’t fight each other, i made sure of it. They won’t bother you. Beside, Moonlight and Sunny are nothing like they were before. They would mope the floor with you if you were to attack them. Now go and get me those Elements of Harmony!!”
The 8 fighters were teleported away and reappeared in Canterlot. Before going on the offensive, they looked at the datas Grogar had on their targets.
“Let’s see” said Razor. “Those girls have different powers and quite impressive ones at that.”
“How do we proceed?” asked Shredder. “We need to approach those girls with the utmost care.”
“I know how we will proceed” answered Flare. “Razor, your cutting magic will be the perfect counter to that Applejack’s super strenght.”
“Make sense” said Razor. “She won’t be able to hit me without cutting herself to death.”
“Silva, you’ll handle the speedster, since your gravity magic is the perfect counter to her power.” said Flare.
“Fine!” she said. “Whateve...r”
“Shredder, i believe your ability to break down matter will be the perfect counter to that girl’s crystal constructs.” said Flare.
“Got it, Captain” he said. “You’re the brain of the group, after all, I trust your judgement.”
“Ragnarok” said Flare. “Your explosion magic would be the ideal counter to that pink girl’s magic. Hearts, your own control over animals makes you the perfect candidate to take on that Fluttershy. Kleaver, your defensive abilities makes you the perfect opponent to take on those 3 girls and that guy. Shira, you’ll take on that Twilight. With your extraordinary sniping abilities and long range magic, it should be a piece of cake. As for me, i’ll handle their leader. Now that we have a plan, let’s get to it!!”
The group headed toward their respective opponent.
“I recognize that foul, evil smell” said Sunny. “The Elite of Darkness.”
“The what?” asked Applejack.
“Grogar’s elite force.” answered Sunny. “Composed of 10 very powerful unicorns he rallied to his cause.”
“But i only feel 8” said Sunset.
“That’s because me and Moonlight are...or rather, were part of that group” answered Sunny.
“That’s right, Traitor!!” shouted Hearts, who had appeared. “I’m Hearts, Queen of the Animal Kingdom”
“I’m Shredder, the Destroyer.” said Shredder.
“I’m Kleaver!! The Purifier!!” said Kleaver.
“I’m Ragna!! The Bomber!!” said Ragna.
The rest arrived shortly after. Far away, Moonlight felt their presence and stopped.
“Silva...” he said. “No, focus!! Now is not the time to get distracted...”
He continued his research for Nightmare. Silva also felt Moonlight’s presence and became nervous.
“Moonlight...” she said. “He’s here, in this city...I must see him! Anyway, i am Silva, the Master of Gravity!”
“It’s overwhelming...” said Hearts. “That hatred, that grudge he has for our master. I never felt so much rage in anyone before.”
“You mean, he still hold a grudge against Grogar even after 3000 years?” asked Razor. “That’s hardcore...By the way, I’m Razor, the Butcher!”
“I can see why he betrayed us...” said Flare. “He was probably never on our side to begin with...Anyway, I’m Flare, leader of the Elites and Master of the Elements!!”
“I feel something coming from her too” said Hearts, pointing at Sunny. “An overwhelming flow of love, the kind a mother would have after finding her long lost child...She’s radiating determination, fierceness”
“You mean, she has a child?” asked Shira. “How is it possible, Grogar made sure we couldn’t reproduce...Anyway, my name is Shira, Sniper Queen”
“Let’s say his spell was not flawless” answered Sunny. “I got impregnated by a stallion named Cum Buckets. His Cutie Mark was a spermatozoid, i think. Apparently, he could impregnate anything he had sex with...”
“Okay, that’s enough details!!” said Shira. “In formation, everyone!!”
Grogar used his magic to transport the Elites of Darkness with their respective target to a special room giving each of the villains an advantage over the heroes. Shira and Twilight were in a room with tons of small towers. Razor and Applejack were inside a room filled with spikes, blades and sawblades coming from the floor. Hearts and Fluttershy were inside a room filled with many deadly animals. Silva and Rainbow Dash were in a large room with hundred of small plateforms. Ragnarok and Pinkie Pie were in room filled with cannons. Shredder and Rarity were in a normal room with no particular characteristics. Kleaver, Stygian and the Sirens were also inside a regular room. Finally, Sunset Shimmer and Flare were transported in a room that looked normal. Sunny looked around and saw she was the only one left. She saw Tirek, Sombra and Chrysalis approaching her.
“We were in a disadvantage against those pesky heroes earlier...” said Chrysalis.
“...But now that you’re all alone, that’s gonna be a piece of cake beating you” said Tirek.
“Ain’t no way you can beat the 3 of us by yourself.” said Sombra.
Grogar was smiling. He contacted Nightmare with his magic.
“Change of plans, Nightmare” He said. “Show yourself to Moonlight. I want you to keep him distracted.”
“You sure?” he asked. “As you wish...”
Grogar put an end to the communication. Nightmare left his hideout and headed toward Moonlight.
“Oh no!! Sunny is in danger, i can feel it!” he said.
“Not so fast” said Nightmare Glow.
Moonlight saw a girl standing in front of him. She was looking similar to Cozy Glow for some reason.
“So, look like you found yourself an host” he said to her. “And a little girl at that, you coward...I guess Sunny can hold on for 5 more minutes, the time i get rid of you...”
“Someone’s feeling cocky today...” said Nightmare Glow. “You wouldn’t dare hurt my host...So how do you expect to win?”
”I could use my Harmony Crystal to get him out of Cozy Glow and reform him” thought Moonlight. ”But using that ace right now would mean revealing it to Grogar. He might come after me right away and try to steal it, and if he succeed, give him even more power to use against my sister and her friends. He would have a counter against the Rainbow Laser and i can’t let that happen.”
Nightmare blasted Moonlight with magic, which he dodged.
”I have no choice...” thought Moonlight. ”I must trust Sunny and those girls to beat their opponents. I’ll just have to hold Nightmare off until they get back and blast him with a Rainbow Laser.”
Meanwhile, Applejack and Razor were facing off in a duel. None of them had started fighting and instead, were gauging the opponent.
”Even if i have the edge in this fight, i must remain careful...” thought Razor. ”One punch from her and it’s over for me. If one of my blades touch her, she’s done for. They’re coated with a powerful paralyzing poison.”
”I suspect that his blades are laced with a dangerous poison” thought Applejack. ”If that’s the case, i must not let him land a single blow on me. I must absolutely end the fight in one hit...”
The tension was high between them. Finally, Razor was the one who attacked first. He threw a flurry of blades at Applejack, who deflected them with a handclap. Razor threw more blades at her, but she kept deflecting them.
“Let’s see if you can stop that!!” shouted Razor. “It’s over for you!!”
He made hundreds of kunais, knifes, shuriken, sawblades and needles appear all around Applejack from every direction.
“Death Row!!” said Razor.
The blades flew at Applejack all at once. Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash was struggling against her opponent’s gravity powers. She was at the complete mercy of Silva.
“The sooner i get rid of you, the sooner i can go meet my dear Moonlight!” said Silva. “So, be a darling and stop resisting!!”
”She seem to be obsessed by Moonlight...” thought Rainbow Dash. ”I can probably use it to my advantage...”
Silva continued to throw Rainbow Dash around.
“We’re you that close, him and you?” asked Rainbow Dash.
“We were best friends since we were young” answered Silva. “Then, that friendship blossomed into love when we became older. Him and i we’re two peas in a pod, two sides of a coin. Then one day, he became cold and distant toward me, and grew much closer with his sister over the years...”
“You want to know why his attitude toward you changed all of a sudden?” asked Rainbow. “I can tell you the truth about his motives, if you spare me...”
Silva hesitated a moment. She released Rainbow from her gravity spell.
“Spill the beans” said Silva. “I want to know everything...”
“Grogar massacred his family and hometown when he was just a baby.” said Rainbow. “His mother, before dying, locked the memories of that day in his subconscient, along with her last will, which were to protect Sunny at all cost and avenge their death by killing Grogar. They were programmed to awaken on the day of his 18...”
“It was on his 18th birthday that he suddenly changed attitude toward me...” said Silva.
“Those two wishes from his mother became his obsession, his life purpose.” said Rainbow Dash. “He started hating Grogar with a passion, hatred that would spread to those loyal to him. That included you and the Elite of Darkness...From what he said, The 10 Elites were all rescued by Grogar at a young age, and by rescued, i mean kidnapped...”
“Grogar told me that he found me in the middle of a devastated town” she said. “Apparently, i was the one who destroyed it and he told me that he could help me control that power. Having nowhere else to go, i followed him and when i met Moonlight, i found my anchor. He is the reason i kept up with Grogar’s evil teachings and grueling training. So, when he stopped talking to me all of a sudden and look at me with cold eyes, as if i was nothing to him, it broke me. Each time i asked him why he didn’t want to be with me anymore, he’d never tell me why. I finally stopped trying to talk to him and wait for him to do so. That day never came, and a couple years later, i was arrested, trialed and casted to the limbos by the first King of Equestria. And believe my surprise when i learnt that he and Sunny betrayed Grogar...”
Rainbow Dash could see that her opponent was being sincere and changed strategy.
“Join us” asked Rainbow. “Fight with us, with him. I can tell your feelings toward Moonlight are stronger than your loyalty toward Grogar. Prove it and fight with us!!”
Silva was touched by Rainbow’s words.
“I might have a plan for both of us to get out of there.” said Silva. “Do you trust me?”
“I do...” answered Dashie.
In another room, Twilight was being mercilessly targeted by Shira.
”She’s playing with me!!” said Sci-Twi to herself. ”She could easily hit me with her magic if she wanted...Well, i’m not gonna wait for her to get serious...Time to power-up!!”
Twilight turned into Midnight, then used her magic to locate Shira.
“Found you...” said Sci-Twi.
She blasted the tower Shira was hiding in to pieces. This one was able to get away just in time and fired magic bullets at Twilight. The bullets did nothing to Sci-twi as she laughed at her.
“Should have killed me right from the start” said Twilight. “Because now, you’re gonna die...”
Twilight started blasting down all the towers one by one. With nowhere to hide and her magic bullets having no effect on her enemy, Shira raised her arms. Twilight was surprised.
“I give up, you win” she said. “If you spare me, i’ll join you...”
Twilight was not convinced by her words.
“We both know only one of us can leave this place alive.” she said. “And it won’t be you...”
“Well, worth a try...” said Shira. “Let me tell you my backstory, before you kill me...Grant this girl her last request...”
“Fine, i’ll hear you out, but don’t make it long...” said Twilight.
“It’s a tragic one” said Shira. “As a baby, my mother threw me in a river and left me to die. By chance, i was rescued by a monster hunter and raised by him. He taught me everything there was to know about monster hunting. One day, when i was 12, the old stallion was killed by a pack of Timberwolves. The trauma caused by his death awakened my latent magic power and i effortlessly slayed them all. A couple days later, as i was hunting down Timberwolves one by one, Grogar presented himself to me. He was holding a mare captive with chains. He told me that he followed me for quite some time and was impressed by my magic potential. As for the mare that he was holding, he told me she was my mother, the one that abandonned me. He offered to take me under his wing, make me an unstoppable killing machine and that mare was a gift from him. I gave her to the Timberwolves and watched them tear her to pieces. After that, i joined Grogar and trained under his supervision. I honed my skills to become his Elite sniper...Then, a few years later, i was caught by the King of Equestria and sentenced to the Limbos forever for my crimes...What crimes you might wonder? Mass murder, mass regicide...the list goes on...And that’s my story...”
“Well, now i know i can kill you without feeling bad” said Twilight. “Say goodbye...”
“You’re the one who’s gonna say goodbye!!” shouted Shira. “I’m taking you with me! Aftermath!!”
Twilight realized what Shira was doing and immediately casted a barrier to contain the explosion. Shira finally blew herself up and the flash of the explosion forced Twilight to close her eyes. When she opened them again, she was relieved to see that her barrier contained the explosion. She turned back to her regular form and fell on the floor, exhausted. Her surprise was even greater when she saw Shira still standing. The two stared at each other for a short while, then laughed.
“I know what you’re thinking, sweetheart” said Shira. “How can i be alive after blowing myself up? Well, i didn’t blow up, but rather, expanded all my magical energy at once...I thought it would kill you, but it didn’t. Now, i don’t have any magic energy left to fight you.”
“Join us” said Twilight. “You don’t have any use to Grogar, anymore, but we could use your hunting expertise if he sent back his monsters at us.”
“You...want me to join you?” asked Shira. “Well, why not? Beats being sent back to the Limbos. But let me be clear, once the old man is no more, i’m out!”
“Only if you promise to put your magic to good use afterward” said Twilight. “Or else, Moonlight will hunt you down.”
“Fair enough...” said Shira. “But first, we have to get out of here...”
Meanwhile, Razor was smiling. Applejack was dead, or that’s what he thought. His smile disappeared when he saw Applejack still standing, with no scratches on her.
“No way!!” he shouted. “There’s no way you could have dodged that!!!”
“You’re right about that...” said A.J. “I couldn’t dodge them, so instead, i just destroyed them before they hit me...”
“Say what?!!” shouted Razor. “That’s impossible...To destroy that many blades all in the span of a second, you’d have to be punching faster than lightning!!”
“Good thing i’m able to punch that fast...” said Applejack. “Not only my punches hit like a truck, they strike faster than lightning...”
Applejack rushed toward Razor, who instinctively covered himself with sharp blades.
“That’s useless!!!” said Applejack.
She broke through his blade armor with a flurry of punches. Razor was overwhelmed by the sheer power of his opponent. Applejack finished the villain with a direct to the jaw. Razor was projected away and crashed into a wall. His eyes turned white as he laid unconscious on the floor. He was out for the count. The room disappeared to make place to a city background. She was surprised to see Rainbow Dash and Twilight next to their respective enemies
“Good to see you, girls...” said Applejack. “But why are your opponents standing right next to you?”
“We’re on your side” answered Silva. “Or rather, i’m on Moonlight’s side...”
“As for me” said Shira “I’d rather be on the winner’s side, which is Moonlight’s. Hey, Razor’s waking up!”
Applejack looked at Razor, who already regained consciousness.
“Listen, punk!” she said to him. “I’m offering you a choice. You can join us and fight Grogar or our friend Moonlight can cast you back to the Limbos...What will it be?”
“I choose...Neither of them!!” shouted Razor. “Unlike Shira, Moonlight and Silva, me and the rest of the troupe are extremely loyal to Father...I’d rather die than betray him!!”
“You know it’s not true!!” said Shira. “Grogar couldn’t care less about us, we’re disposable tools to him. If he truly cared about us, he would have kept us around.”
“Unlike you, i’m an absolute, irredeemable piece of shit” said Razor. “I was born a killer, i murdered so many folk that i lost count of them. Grogar saved me from being executed for my crimes and told me that i could kill as much as i wanted under his wing, without facing judgement. The only think i care about is killing, and i’m gonna kill all of...!!”
Applejack punched him in the face, knocking him down.
“Oh, shut up!” she said.
They saw Sunny crashing right in front of them. She looked at Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Twilight.
“Oh, you’re back?! Good!!” she said, smiling. “Because i might need help fighting those 3...”
Tirek, Chrysalis and Sombra showed up. The girls took a battle stance.
“Well, you take care of them, girls!!” said Shira. “I’ll cheer you up from a safe distance!!”
As for Silva, she was nowhere to be seen. As for Grogar, he was keeping an eye on the other girls’ fights, not bothered at all by Silva and Shira’s betrayal.
“At this rate, i’ll have no choice but to face them myself...” he said. “Unless...I summon him...It’s risky, but i’m willing to do everything to achieve my goals...If he’s as powerful as those journals claim to be, then it’s gonna be a piece of cake...”
Pinkie Pie was exchanging blows with Ragna for half an hour now. None of them was able to deliver a fatal blow to their opponent and the fight turned into a stalemate very quickly.
“Okay, this is getting dumb” said Ragna. “Obviously, neither of us can deliver a definitive blow to the other...So i propose to settle this with a game...”
“Sounds fun!!” said Pinkie. “What kind of game do you like?”
“Let’s see which of us can cause the more destruction!!” shouted Ragna. “The winner can ask anything to the loser, who is obliged to comply. Of course, if i win, you will give me your magic geode!!! If you win, well, you can ask me anything and i will comply!!”
“I like a challenge, but where would we fight?” asked Pinkie Pie.
“Activating Target practice mode!!” shouted Ragna.
The room’s cannons disappeared to make place to a shooting range setting.
“As you might guess, this will be a speed and precision based challenge.” said Ragna. “The one getting the highest score in 5 minutes win...The blue targets give you ten points, the red ones give you a hundred, the star-shaped ones give you a thousand. Of course, they move way more quickly than blue and red ones. The skull-shaped targets reduce your score of a hundred points. You can use any weapons you want, as for me, i don’t need any...”
“Guess i misjudged you!!” said Pinkie. “You’re not as boring as i thought! If we were not enemies, we could be amazing friends!!”
“You don’t want to be friend with someone like me, girl.” said Ragna. “You use your talents to make people happy, to entertain them. I use my talents to bring pain, fear, destruction and death. I take joy in my actions. We’re not the same, Pinkie Pie. I’m way beyond redemption...Let me tell you my backstory...It ain’t a pretty one...”
“I love backstories!!” she said.
“As far as i can remember, i was always passioned to see things explode.” said Ragna. “Balloons, fireworks, bombs...When i discovered i had an affinity with magic, i knew exactly what kind of magic i wanted to master. But no one wanted to teach me, except, of course, him. Grogar. I didn’t care if he was evil, he was offering me a way to follow my passion. He taught me to imbue my magic inside things and to turn them into bombs. I am extremely grateful to him for teaching me what i know today...Gratitude i’ll show by giving him your geode...Now, time to play!!”
Ragna was the first to take on the shooting contest. When he heard the start signal, he immediately started shooting explosive marbles at the targets. Pinkie Pie was looking at him go while munching popcorn.
“You’re doing great, Ragna!!” she shouted.
Ragna was confused by her cheering. Why would she encourage him, knowing what was at stake.
“Why are you cheering me, you idiot?!” asked Ragna, angry. “I’m your enemy!! You do know what’s at stake for you, do you?! Unless you’re trying to distract me!! In which case, it worked!!!”
Ragna finished his game with a score of 7840 points.
“I could have scored higher hadn’t you distracted me with your cheering...” he said. “Now, your turn...”
Pinkie Pie advanced to the stand and pulled a paintball gun from her hairs. She loaded it with sugar bombs then placed herself in position. As soon as the counter started, Pinkie started shooting.
“Nice cake you have there!!” said Ragna.
“Thanks!! Glad you like!!” she said.
She made a confused face.
“Wait, what cake is he talking about?” she said. “I don’t see a cake anywere...”
While she was thinking it out, she was loosing precious seconds.
“I was refering to your ass, dummy!!” said Ragna. “Are you that dense?!”
“Ooooh!” she said. “But what’s the connection between a cake and my butt?”
“You’d want to eat both of them” answered Ragna with a grin.
“Oooh” she said. “You want to eat my butt? I don’t know, i already have a boyfriend...”
“What are you talking about? I was just distracting you, dummy” he answered. “It seem you lost 15 precious seconds overthinking my joke...More than what i expected...You didn’t think i was gonna be fair and let you play normally, did you? Especially considering what’s at stake if you lose...”
Pinkie realized she had been distracted by Ragna but she wasn’t mad at him. She already knew the issue of this plot and wasn’t worried in the least. Ragna, however, was nervous after seeing Pinkie’s score getting close to his.
”I have to do something!!” he thought. ”She won’t get distracted by my words again. Wait, it’s a perfect opportunity to shoot her, while she’s focused on this challenge. A clean shot to the head blowing it right off, it would be so easy...But why am i hesitating...Did she somehow got to me?”
Ragna wasn’t even looking at the score anymore, torn by conflicting emotions. He was taken out of his transe by Pinkie Pie.
“Well, i guess we’re tied” she said.
He saw that her score and his were the same.
“It seem so” he said. “I guess it’s time for plan C!!”
He grabbed Pinkie Pie by the neck.
“Objects are not the only thing i can turn into bombs...” said Ragna. “I can turn living beings into bombs too!!”
Pinkie wasn’t afraid at all, in fact, she wasn’t even trying to broke out of his grasp. That confused Ragna even more.
“Why aren’t you afraid?! Why don’t you defend yourself?!” he said. “Everyone should be afraid and try to save themselves from being turned into a bomb!!”
“Why did you hesitated to kill me, earlier?” she asked, calmly. “You could have taken the shot at anytime...You know what i think? You’re not a bad guy, Ragnarok. You’re simply misguided, lost. Would a bad guy challenge his enemy in a contest where both participants have an equal chance to win? You didn’t even started pouring magic into my body...”
Ragna released her and punched a wall, multiple time.
“DAMN IT!!!” he yelled. “DAMN EVERYTHING!!”
He was crying of anger. His body was starting to glow. Pinkie Pie hugged him, like a mother would do to reconfort her confused child.
“Everyone deserve hapiness...” she said to him. “You deserve better, you deserve a better life...I can give you a better life, Ragna, the life you deserve, the life that should have been yours.”
Ragna stopped glowing and calmed down. He looked at Pinkie Pie.
“It’s too bad you’re already taken” he said. “That guy must be one lucky stallion to have someone like you in his life...I’m almost jealous.”
“You’re not really my type anyway” she said. “You’re too hot-headed, too brash and too...extreme for my taste. Kinda like my sister Limestone Pie!! Why don’t i introduce you to her?”
“You’re already assuming that i’m gonna make it...” he said. “You and i both know that won’t be the case...Grogar will punish me for my failure, even more for my betrayal...”
“I won’t let him kill you” she said. “I’m gonna make sure you survive to that, somehow...”
She showed him her pinky.
“Pinkie promise!” she said.
“Fine...” said Ragna. “I promise to definitively not sacrifice myself to save you.”
“You better not!!” she said.
They then pinky swore. After what, he knocked Pinkie Pie unconscious. They disappeared from the room and reappeared in the middle of an intense fight. Twilight saw him holding Pinkie Pie in his arms.
“She’s not dead” he said. “I just knocked her out to get out of that room...Wait, do i see a cake in danger?!”
Pinkie Pie woke up.
“A cake in danger?!! Not on my watch!!” she shouted. “Oh, we’re back!! Oh, Hi Twilight!!”
“Let me assist you” said Ragna to Twilight.
“He’s on our side, don’t worry” said Pinkie. “Turns out the Elites of Darkness are not as evil as Moonlight makes them to be”
“I’m only doing this to meet that sister of yours!” he said. “And maybe because i feel awful about what i’ve done...”
“Shira and Silva, i’m not surprised” asked Ragna. “But Razor? I don’t buy it...”
“Applejack spared him” answered Twilight. “We offered him to join us, but he refused.”
“Sound about right” said Ragna. “Of all of us, he’s the most devoted and loyal to Grogar.”
In another room, Fluttershy and Hearts were still fighting. If Fluttershy saw animals as friends and equals, Hearts saw them as tools, inferior species. Fluttershy didn’t impose her will upon animals. Those who’d answer her call did it out of respect for her. As for Heart, she’d just take over their minds, force them to obey her command.
“You’re a disgrace, Hearts” said Fluttershy. “Someone that use animals for their own selfish agenda doesn’t deserve mercy from me.”
“You’re the one who’s a disgrace, Fluttershy!” said Hearts. “We’re at the top of the food chain. Animals exist to serve us!!!”
“I see it’s useless to reason with you” said Fluttershy. “It’s time to end this farce...”
“I agree...” said Hearts. “Beasts, attack!!! Tear her to pieces and bring me her geode!!”
“You might control their minds” said Fluttershy. “But you don’t control their heart!!”
The beasts walked toward Fluttershy, but didn’t attack her. They started licking her face, arms and legs.
“I said attack!!” shouted Hearts.
“Who’s a good tiger? Who’s a good tiger?” said Fluttershy. “Yes, it’s you!! That meanie doesn’t understand how great you are...You’re not her tools, you’re living beings, who can think, feel and love. You’re proud, intelligent and pure-hearted creatures.”
The predators looked at Hearts with agressiveness.
“Obey me!! Obey me, you stupid beasts!!” she yelled.
“They’re done being the tools of a monster” said Fluttershy. “They’re done with your shit...”
The animals jumped at Hearts and started tearing her to pieces.
“Tell them to stop!! Please!!” shouted Hearts. “Save me!!”
“I’m afraid i can’t” answered Fluttershy with a smile. “You had this coming, bitch!”
The next moment, Fluttershy was back in Canterlot. With the mangled body of Hearts not far away. The women was severely injured, but still alive, at Fluttershy’s disappointment. Rainbow Dash saw her and immediately joined her sides.
“Fluttershy!! You’re here!!” she said. “Woah, is she still alive?! What did you do to her?!”
“She is, unfortunately...” answered Fluttershy. “And i didn’t do this to her. Her own pets turned against her...”
“Did you try to persuade her to join us?” asked Rainbow Dash.
“No” answered Fluttershy. “You know i always see the good in bad people... But that girl...She didn’t have any kindness in her heart.”
“Sounds like Hearts, alright!” said Ragna, who was listening. “That girl is one crazy, sadistic, cruel, irredeemable bitch...I’m Ragna, by the way, Nice to meet you, girl!”
“The pleasure is mine” she said. “Where are the others?”
Rainbow Dash explained her the current situation.
“That only leave Rarity, Sunset, the Sirens and Stygian.” said Fluttershy.
“Correction, just Rarity and Sunset” said Stygian, who appeared.
Kleaver was standing behind him. He seemed traumatized.
“What did you do to him?” asked Ragna. “Dude’s looking like he saw a ghost”
“Turns out him and i have a lot in common.” answered Stygian. “As for why he’s like this...”
“Those harlots” said Kleaver. “Tempting me with their bodies!!”
“...He can’t stand thots” said Stygian. “My buddy Kleaver see himself as a paragon of purity...”
“I made an oath to remain pure of body and mind.” said Kleaver. “That mean no alcohol, no sex, no gambling, no vices and no temptations. That oath had for purpose to hone my willpower and concentration, which are very important qualities for any magic user...My only mistake was to let Grogar sway me with his words, mistake i will atone for by fighting with you! Oh, hi, Ragna!”
“Hi, pal!” he said.
“Hi, Darlings!!!” said Rarity. “I’m back!!”
“Hi, Rarity!” said Rainbow Dash. “How did your fight went?”
She threw him on the floor. The guy was in very bad shape, and unconscious. Kleaver and Ragna were shocked.
“You beat him?!” asked Ragna. “You’ve got my respect, girls. That dude was one crazy, violent and angry motherfucker!! And that’s coming from me!”
Rainbow Dash told them a summary of the situation. Ragna, Shira and Kleaver were having a deep, meaningful conversation. Tirek, Chrysalis and Sombra retreated once again. Meanwhile, Silva made it to the place where she felt Moonlight’s presence. This one tried to get Nightmare to stay immobile, at no avail.
”I just need for my spell to connect so i can extract him from her body and trap him in this.” he said. ”But the spell require using two hands, so i can’t immobilize him and cast the extraction spell at the same time...”
This is when the ground around Nightmare fell down.
”Gravity magic?” he thought. “Then it can only mean...”
He saw Silva appear behind Cozy Glow.
“Hold her down” said Moonlight
Moonlight was able to cast the spell on Cozy Glow. Nightmare yelled and was extracted from her body. Moonlight then emprisoned him in a magic cube taken from Grogar’s collection of relics.
“You can release your magic, now” said Moonlight. “She’s not a danger anymore...”
Silva stopped her attack and looked at Moonlight with teary eyes. She threw herself at him and slapped him in the face.
“That’s for being a jerk to me all those years” she said.
She slapped him again.
“And that’s for not trusting your B.F.F/Girlfriend!!” she said. “I would have helped you kill Grogar if you just asked me to, you know!!”
Moonlight tried to talk, but she kissed him.
“Your friend told me everything about your motives, but why did you treat me like that?” asked Silva. “I am your best friend, you were the reason i put up with that monster’s grueling training and teachings...When you stopped talking to me, looked at me with that cold stare each time we saw each other...It really broke my heart, Moonlight!!”
“I was not myself back then” said Moonlight. “I was mad at Grogar for lying to me all those years and my hatred spread to you and the others working with him. I couldn’t bring myself to trust anyone anymore, not even you. But 3000 years passed since then and i’ve learned to trust again...But never a single day, did i forgot about you, Silva. You don’t know how much regret i have for leaving you behind. I know i can’t make up for the 3000 years you spent in the Limbos...”
“We’ll discuss about that later” she said. “For now, we’re joining the rest of our friends.”
“Right” said Moonlight. “Hold on to me”
When he and Silva joined up with the group, Sunny smiled. Twilight explained the situation to him, telling him about Ragna, Shira, Kleaver and Silva joining the group, And Razor, Shredder and Hearts refusal to join them. Those 3 were maintained prisonner by Rarity.
“The Elites of Darkness were more divided than i thought” said Moonlight. “Anyway, glad to see you 4 made the right choice...As for you 3, i’ll decide your fate later...”
“Make that 4” said Sunset. “That girl gave me quite the trouble, with her ability to change the biome of that room at will. But i was able to defeat her...”
She threw a defeated Flare on the ground. She was in a vegetative state, as if her brain had been shut off.
“Is she gonna be okay?” asked Ragna.
“I cut off all the motricity functions of her brain” she answered. “She can’t move a muscle...I’ll reverse it when we’re done with Grogar.”
“Who’s the loser now, bitch?!!” said Silva to Flare.
She spat on her.
“So, what is Grogar gonna do next?” asked Sunset. “I bet he’s running out of options now...”
”That’s where you’re wrong, girls.” said this one by telepathy. “I’ve got a big surprise for you...”
Suddenly, an x-shaped rift appeared in the sky and monsters started pouring out of it.
”Let’s see you get out of that one” he said. ”I would have prefered not to bring him in this world, but i’m willing to do anything to see my dream fulfilled. Meet the most fearsome, the most evil, the most powerful being you’ll have the honor to laid eyes on!”
A yellow, triangle shaped, one-eyed being, with a hat and a bowtie, appeared in front of the group. A blue flame appeared on his left hand and in his eye.
“Tell me, young ladies...” said the strange being. “WANNA MAKE A DEAL?!”
The yellow, triangle-shaped being that was standing in front of our heroes introduced itself.
“First off, let me introduce myself!!” it said. “My true name would melt your puny human brains, but you can call me Bill Cipher!!”
“What the hell are you?” asked Sunset Shimmer.
“Nice of you to ask, Sunset Shimmer.” answered Bill. “I’m an Interdimensional, deal-making, reality-warping, all-powerful and all-seeing demon from the Second Dimension. My powers are unmatched, even by your universe’s best. The rift you see in the sky is called Weirdmageddon and every second it’s active, it increase my power. Oh! And don’t even try to close it, that portal is linked to me. To close it and save your world, you’ll have to kill me, if you can, that is, which you can’t, because you’re puny, weak and stupid mortal lifeforms.”
“Grogar summoned you in our world, didn’t he?” asked Moonlight. “He must be very desperate...”
“And i’m thankful for that!!!” said Bill. “It’s been ages since i last took over a dimension!!”
“We won’t let you” said Sunset. “Doesn’t matter how powerful you are, the power of Friendship will win the day!!”
Bill started laughing like a madman, then stopped laughing abruptly.
“That was a joke, right?” he asked. “You don’t think you can actually BEAT me, right?!”
“There’s nothing stronger than the power of Friendship” said Twilight.
“Ugh, Gross!” said Bill, about to puke.
Bill was blasted by a magic beam in the eye.
“MY EYE!!” he screamed. “Who did that?!!!”
Moonlight was smiling at the demon.
“All-seeing, uh?” he said, snarkingly.
“You’re lucky the old man want you alive!!” said Bill. “Stupid deal...”
He turned giant and flipped the world upside down.
“Let’s see how you fight when the earth and sky are flipped!!” he said.
Moonlight grunted and casted a spell on everyone. The spell gave them wings.
“There!!” he said. “That should do it!”
“Thank you, Moonlight!!” said Twilight. “Was that reality-warping magic that thing just casted?!”
“I thought only Discord, Cosmos and Eris could do that kind of stuff” said Sunset.
“Well, Think again, puny girl!!” said Bill. “You haven’t seen what i’m capable of...Like this, for example!!”
He fired a beam at Shira, who got turned to stone upon being hit. Bill laughed.
“One down!!” he said.
A strong gravity field slammed Bill to the ground.
“Let’s see if you can resist being crushed by the gravity of a black hole!!” said Silva.
“You can control gravity?” he asked. “Two can play that game!!”
He turned off the gravity with no effort.
“He removed gravity!!” said Sunset.
“Let’s see if you can fight at zero gravity!!” said Bill.
This one fired another beam, aimed at Silva. Kleaver deflected the attack just in time with a barrier. Rainbow Dash and Applejack tried a combined attack on Bill. Rainbow turned around herself, holding A.J by the foots. She then launched her at mach speed toward Bill. Applejack’s fist tore through his body, leaving a huge hole in it. Twilight stopped her trajectory.
“Oh no!!!” said Bill, dramatically “The pain!! I’m dying!!! Curse you, humans!!! Nah, just kidding...and hop!!”
Bill regenerated his body easily.
“So, he can regenerate” said Twilight. “Great...”
“From anything you puny humans can throw at me!!” answered Bill. “Even completely desintegrating my physical body can’t kill me!! Cause i also exist on the spiritual plane!!”
“So, we would need to erase you physically and spiritually to kill you? Is that what you’re saying?” asked Moonlight.
“That’s exactly what i’m saying” said Bill. “But good luck forcing me to ditch my physical body!!”
Pinkie Pie threw an explosive cupcake at Bill. This one destroyed it with zero efforts.
“Really? A cupcake?” asked Bill, looking at Pinkie Pie. “A fucking cupcake?!!”
“You don’t like cupcakes?” said Pinkie. “Everyone likes cupcakes!!”
“I do love cupcakes” said Bill. “They’re a go-to for parties...Especially those made of humans, they’re my favorite!!”
“Okay, i’m grossed!” said Pinkie.
“So, Sunset...” said Moonlight. “Got any idea on how to force him to ditch his body?”
“I don’t” she answered. “But maybe we don’t need to. If i can enter his mind, i might be able to attack his spirit directly.”
“No!” said Sunny. “That’s way to dangerous!!”
“But that might be our only shot at him” said Moonlight. “Bill doesn’t take us seriously, he’s certain that none of us can stop him. And that leaves him wide open for a surprise attack. We need to strike while his guard is down...Go for it, Sunset...me and Sunny will cover you!!”
Moonlight and Sunny charged toward Bill Cipher. Sunny turned into a Salamander and spewed flames at the demon. Moonlight used space magic to cut him in half. Bill effortlessly regenerated himself before grabbing Moonlight and Sunny with his giant hands.
“Caught you!!” he said.
Moonlight sliced the hand holding him to pieces. Sunny bit Bill’s finger with her fangs, releasing both of them from his grasp.
“My hands!!” shouted Bill.
Ragna threw dozens of explosives at him from above. The explosion blew off the top of his head.
“My hat!!” he yelled.
Followed by an explosive cake in the eye.
“Not again!!” he said.
“Now, Sunset!!” said Twilight.
Sunset, powered up into her demon form, touched Bill’s forehead and made contact with his mind. Sunset’s astral projection found herself in a replica of Canterlot. Bill appeared in front of her, looking kinda mad.
“Hey!! Who gave you the permission to be here?!?” he asked.
“You said that complete spiritual destruction could kill you.” said Sunset. “If i destroy you here, you’re done...”
Bill bursted of laugher, then stopped.
“Because you think you can destroy me in my own mind?!” he yelled. “I can regenerate from spiritual damages, you know!! So unless you can erase my own memory, which i definitively won’t let you do, you’re good as dead!!”
Sunset disappeared from Bill’s mind and came back to her body.
“I know how to beat him!!” she said to her friends via telepathy ”Apparently, the only way to kill him is destroy his spiritual body!!”
”That leave us two options” said Moonlight, by telepathic link. ”We can force him out of his physical body and blast his spiritual body with a Rainbow Laser or...”
”...We can enter his mind and erase his memory, destroying his spiritual body, or have him enter one of ours and erase that person’s memories, destroying his spirit completely.” Said Sunset. “That’s our two options to deal with him.”
“Either way, that’s going to be a tough one to pull off!!” said Rarity. “If Bill kill only one of us, the Rainbow Laser strategy won’t work!! And if Bill kill you, Sunset, we won’t have any mean to enter his mind...”
“Give me some time, and i might be able to come with a counter to his magic” said Moonlight. “If i can somehow decipher the secret of his magic...”
“I’ll help you too!!” said Twilight. “With my brains and your magic expertise, it’ll be a piece of cake!!”
Moonlight nodded. Sunset and the others turned their eyes toward Bill.
“Even if you know how to destroy me” he said. “You don’t have the power to do so!! So, do your worst!”
Bill turned giant. He grew 6 arms and started pulling out buildings and skyscrappers from nowhere. He then threw those buildings at the heroes. Stygian effortlessly broke through one, Applejack punched another one to rubble. Rainbow Dash dodged another effortlessly. Pinkie Pie also dodged one. Kleaver casted a barrier to block one, which Ragna climbed on.
“Applejack!!” he shouted. “Throw this one at him.”
She obeyed and threw the building at Bill. With his powers, Ragna turned it into a bomb and jumped off. The improvised missile exploded in Bill’s eye.
“Bullseye!!” said Rainbow Dash.
“WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS GOING FOR MY EYES?!!” yelled Bill.
“Because it’s funny, duh!!” answered Pinkie Pie. “Also, your eye is literally a big target screaming HIT ME!!”
“Uh, fair enough” said Bill. “To be honest, the way you fight as a team is really getting on my nerves...And trust me, you don’t want to see me mad...”
Stygian flew behind Bill and hit him behind the head with a giant gleam fist. The Dazzlings blasted him with soundwaves and Sunny blasted him with electricity. Bill slapped Sunny away and with a beam from his eye, turned Aria to stone. Stygian caught the statue and deposed it on the ground.
“He got Aria!!” said Adagio. “You piece of shit!! You’re gonna pay!!”
She charged at Bill, blasting him repetitively with soundwaves. As Bill fired a beam at her, Sonata pushed her away and took the attack. She turned to stone and fell on the ground. Stygian caught it just in time.
“Sonata!!!!” yelled Adagio. “Why?!”
Bill grabbed Adagio and turned her to stone. He dropped the statue, which was caught by Stygian.
“Who’s next?” he asked.
He looked at Stygian, who placed the 3 statues together. Ragna blasted him with another explosive building. Him and Applejack were making a dynamic duo. Bill turned around and fired a beam at Ragna, that was deflected by Kleaver.
“Not on my watch, buddy!!” he said.
He got hit with a truck, thrown by Stygian. Then, it was another projectile that it him, gift of Pinkie Pie. This one had brought two big party cannons she was loading with baking goods. Sunny, far from done, was now lauching giant ice spears at him. Fluttershy was giving air support to Rainbow Dash. Rarity and Kleaver were covering their friend, Silva, who was using her powers to keep the gravity normal, as well as the bodies of Shredder, Razor, Flare and Hearts. Sunset woke them up.
“We need your help” she said.
“Why would we help you?” asked Razor. “We’re not betraying Grogar.”
“This ain’t about him, right now!!” answered Sunset. “That monster is bent on killing every single one of us, you included!!”
“Did Father summoned him?” asked Shredder. “That mean that thing is our ally.”
“That thing is anything but your ally!!” answered Sunset. “Grogar released a monster far more powerful than him, and if this thing beat us, he’s next on the chopping block.”
“If that thing is indeed a menace to Father” said Flare. “Then we have to deal with it!! Fine, we’ll help you take him down, but after that, you’re next on the list...”
Sunset freed the 4 bad guys.
“So, what is that thing and how powerful is it?” asked Flare.
“That thing’s name is Bill Cipher” answered Sunset. “As for how powerful he is, he claimed to be stronger than any Draconequus.”
“You mean, those all-powerful magic beings that can do anything with their magic?” asked Hearts. “And you say that this thing, Bill Cipher, is more powerful than them?”
“Doesn’t matter how powerful they are, those who pose a threat to Father must be dealt with!!” shouted Razor.
“What do you want me to do?” asked Hearts. “I see no animal that could possibly hurt this thing...”
“I can see a hidden potential inside you, Hearts” said Sunset. “I can see you’re the only one of your group that hasn’t awoken it...”
“I tried” she said. “From putting myself at death’s door to meditation, nothing worked!!”
“That kind of power comes from the heart, not the mind” said Sunset. “Each of your companions got something or someone they hold close to their hearts, that motivates them. That’s what allowed them to unlock their true potential.”
“That’s because she care about nothing, but herself.” said Razor. “Trust me when i say that girl has no heart, despite her name.”
“Everyone care about something, or someone” said Sunset. “Even Hearts. When she’ll stop denying what she care about and who she is really, she’ll awaken her potential.”
“Then, she’ll stay put for now” said Flare. “I really hope she can figure it before it’s too late for us.”
Her, Razor and Shredder headed toward Bill. Sunset told Moonlight to give them wings, because they’ll be fighting on their side. This one obeyed. From their dimension, Discord, Cosmos and Eris were assisting to the fight.
“I really think we should jump in!” said Eris. “Bill is too powerful for them to handle!!”
“This is not our battle” said Discord.
“We should at least try to protect Sunset Shimmer and her friends from his magic.” said Eris. “Bill could easily turn them into inanimate objects, erase them from existence or turn them to stone. So, i propose we use our magic to protect Sunset Shimmer and her friends. Would you really let Sunny or Moonlight be erased from existence?”
“They don’t need our help” said Discord. “Beside, we’ll have to clean up everything after this is over...You know the drill: Restore everything and erase everyone’s memories of the events.”
“Bill will put them to the test, but they will prevail.” said Cosmos. “Still, i admit that the queen of Malice in me admire Bill Cipher.”
“You would make a great couple, that’s for sure!!” said Discord. “He’s cruel and sadistic like you...”
“He’s not my type” said Cosmos. “And he’s definitively not boyfriend material either. As far as lover goes, he’s by far the worst type of guy you can date...”
“Hey!! I heard that!!” said Bill’s voice. “I’m prime boyfriend material, you should know! And you’re one to talk!! As far as girlfriend material goes, you’re sloppy seconds, girl! No wonder your first boyfriend dumped you!! You’re by far the ugliest creature i’ve laid eyes upon, and i’m friends with Pyronica!!”
Discord held back a loud chuckle.
“Oh...you’re gonna get it, you one-eyed jerk!!!” said Cosmos.
She opened a portal to Canterlot. Discord held her back before she left.
“Don’t fall for his taunting” he said. “That’s what he wants!”
“He called me ugly!! And sloppy seconds!! I can’t let him get away with this!!” she yelled.
“You’re better than that!!” said Discord. “Don’t fall to his level!!”
“My level?!!” shouted Bill. “You’re nothing but a clown, Discord. You even got the look to back it up!! You low effort, overrated hack!!”
“Well, your father called and he want his hat and bowtie back!!” said Discord. “Seriously, that style so doesn’t suit you, Bill!”
“You’re one to talk!!” he said. “You look stupid with those mismatched body parts!! You’re like a build-a-bear that a blind kid would make!!”
“You’re gonna let that pass?!!” asked Cosmos. “Don’t you have any self-esteem?!”
“Bien au contraire!!” answered Discord, with a french accent. “I love myself too much to be affected by petty insults...”
“Well, if Bill Cipher want to die so much, i’ll be happy to oblige!!” said Eris. “He’s begging for a beating!! Don’t you want to fight him, Discord?”
“I’m burning to fight him, trust me...” he answered. “But we need this arc to last 2 more chapters!!”
“Stupid plot...” said Cosmos.
“Well, screw the plot!!” said Eris. “I say we’re going in and beat this clown’s ass!!”
“But...the plot!!” said Discord. “You can’t just change it!! Okay, fine!! We’ll jump in for the third act!!! Now, sit your asses down and enjoy the show!!”
The battle between Bill Cipher and the heroes was continuing. Sunny and Flare had teamed up, combining their magic together. Flare’s ability to boost elemental attacks was super useful to Sunny, who could unleash devastating attack after devastating attacks. Razor was throwing giant blades at Bill and Shredder was making holes in his body. But no matter how much damages the heroes did to the demon, this one would regenerate instantly. Worst, Bill was starting to take the fight seriously, trying to kill his opponents with blue flames and lasers. Stygian and Ragna had been turned into toys earlier on, but instead to demoralize the heroes, it bolstered them to do better.
“That’s it!!” said Bill. “Weird Gang!! Get your asses down and assist me!!!”
”I’m sorry, Bill” said Discord by telepathy. ”I’m afraid your friends won’t be able to help you...You’re on your own!!”
The truth is, they were partying in Discord’s dimension. This one was the host.
“Your party is awesome, dude!!” shouted 8-Ball. “You sure it’s okay for us to ditch our boss like that?”
“All you want is to party and get weird, right?” asked Discord. “You can do it whenever you want in here!! No one is going to stop you. You want fun and i want cool friends to hang out with!!”
“You really think we’re cool?” asked 8-Ball. “No one ever told us that before.”
Pyronica floated next to Discord.
“Has anyone ever told you how weird you were?” she asked. “Cause you look really weird, and i like weird!!”
“Well, thank you!!” said Discord, embarrassed by her flirting. “You look really weird yourself!!”
“Oh, you!!” said Pyronica, blushing.
“Stop flirting with him, Pyronica!!” said Keyhole. “You can see he’s not interested in you, you whore!!”
“Mind your own business, asshole!!” she said with rage.
“Slut!!” said Keyhole
“Asshole!!” said Pyronica.
Discord tried to defuse the situation.
“Enough, you two!!” he shouted. “Keyhole, Apologize to Pyronica for calling her a slut. And Pyronica, apologize to Keyhole for calling him an asshole.”
“I’m not...” said Keyhole.
“Me neither!!” said Pyronica.
“Then, no party for both of you!!” said Discord. “Until you apologize to each other!!”
“What?!!” shouted Pyronica. “That’s not fair!!”
“You can’t do that!!” said Keyhole.
“My dimension, my rules!” said Discord.
The two demons grunted and left.
“Those 2, i swear...” said Kryptos. “Got any more fruit punch?”
Discord smiled and made a huge pool full of punch appear.
“Sweet!!” said the pyramid.
“More snacks, please!!” said Zanthar.
Discord made a mountain of junk food appear. Meanwhile, the battle against Bill was going downhill for the heroes. Shredder, Razor and Kleaver had been defeated and turned into toys. Sunny and Flare were in serious trouble, prompting Moonlight to work faster. As for Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Silva, they were Bill’s main targets. Twilight was doing her best to help Moonlight and Rarity, to protect Silva.
“He’s too strong!!” said Flare. “What was Father thinking about summoning that monster!!?”
“Brother, you still haven’t came up with a solution yet?” asked Sunny.
“I’m trying my best, okay!!?” answered Moonlight, nervous. “The only type of magic i could see countering his are the Elements of Harmony’s magic and Chaos magic...But using those type of magic would mean certain death for me.”
“Right...” said Sunny. “Well, in that case, just try to find a way to de-petrify our friends, okay?”
Moonlight looked in his grimoire.
“Let’s see...” he said. “Petrification, petrification...Ha, there it is!! How to undo a petrification spell!!”
Moonlight teleported next to the dazzlings statues and casted a spell on them. The girls returned back to normal, confused. Seeing the spell work, he did the same for Stygian, Shira, Ragna, Shredder and Razor.
“Thank you!” said Ragna. “Grogar was not lying when he said that you were on another level.”
“Oh, come on!!” said Bill. “Now, that’s just lazy writting!! Fine!! I’ll just burn you to ashes, then!!”
Bill turned red and grew to insane proportions. He was as big as a mountain and looking like an demonic eldritch entity with his 3 mouths and sharp teeths.
“All behind me!!!” shouted Moonlight.
Everyone obeyed as he casted a magic barrier to protect them.
“Where’s Sunset!!?” asked Sunny. “Where’s my daughter!!!?”
She left the group and took off in the air. Moonlight decided to take a gamble and took off as well. He was flying in Bill’s direction. Drawing upon his power, Moonlight duplicated himself and started firing magic projectiles at the demon.
“I know the old man want you alive!!” said Bill, with his bloodcurling voice. “But i’m gonna kill you, you insignificant little bug!! You think i can’t see the real you?! I’m the all-seeing eye!!”
Bill grabbed Moonlight and the clones disappeared. This one sliced Bill’s hand to pieces and flew away.
“Well, time for a different approach!!” he said.
He froze Bill in time with his magic. At his surprise, Bill was not affected by the spell.
“Time freeze?” asked Bill. “Good try, but i’m immune to that shit, you fool.”
Moonlight cancelled the spell.
“Of course, you would be immune...” he said. “Well, what about this?”
He casted a black hole behind Bill. This one devoured it like it was an apple. Moonlight grunted and he casted different sort of spells, each one being countered.
“Are you done?” asked Bill, who turned yellow.
Moonlight looked at the Harmony crystal on his necklace.
“I think so...” answered Moonlight.
“In that case, time to die!!” said Bill.
Bill was blasted by a beam. Twilight was standing in the air, powered-up.
“Ouch, that hurt!!” said Bill. “Why you little...”
He turned into his eldritch form and fired at Twilight. Meanwhile, Sunset had retrieved the villain trio and was trying to persuade them to help her.
“No way we’re fighting that monster!!” said Chrysalis. “This ain’t our fight!!”
“He will get you sooner or later!!” said Sunset. “Bill Cipher will spare nobody!!”
“Fighting him is a death sentence!!!” said Sombra.
“Maybe” said Sunset. “But my friends still went against him!!”
“You’re just stupid!!” said Tirek. “Stupid for throwing away your lives for the sake of loyalty, love and friendship!! I value my life over anything else!! I won’t die for someone else, especially not for you and your friends, nor Grogar.”
“Well, if that’s the case” said Sunset. “I’ll deliver you to Princess Twilight immediately and she’ll send you 3 straight to Tartarus. You’ll definitively be safe from Bill. Unless you don’t value your life as much as you pretend to do...”
Tirek stayed silent. Sure, he wanted to stay alive, but not at the cost of his freedom.
“You can kiss your dreams of conquest, revenge or freedom goodbye, if this monster get his way.” said Sunset. “Or if Twilight decide to banish you in Tartarus...You have two choices: Would you rather fight to the bitter end for the sake of your dream? Or would you rather spend eternity in hell, filled with shame and regret for not fighting for your dreams...?”
“Fine!!” said Sombra. “I’ll lend you my help taking this monser down...”
“I’ll help you fight him too” said Chrysalis. “If i die, then be it...”
They looked at Tirek. This one turned his head, then sighed.
“I’m in too, i guess” he said. “If i have to die, i’d rather it be as a free man...”
Sunset smiled. Back to our heroes, those ones were watching Twilight and Moonlight give it their all against Bill.
“You humans never give up, don’t you?!” shouted Bill, mad.
“Never giving up is what characterize us, mortals.” said Twilight. “We might be weak, but we make up for it through our sheer will to survive and see a better tomorrow!!”
“But i don’t see how an all-powerful demonic entity bent on destruction and misery like you could understand that concept...” said Moonlight.
Bill knocked them both away and they crashed on the ground.
“Let us help, Moonlight!” said Ragna. “Don’t be selfish and trust your friends!!”
“I’m not letting any of you go to your death!!” said Moonlight. “Beside, there is one thing i haven’t tried yet...Girls, share your magic with me...If it transformed Sunset and Twilight into magic powerhouses, it might do the same for me!!”
The girls looked at each other and ponied-up. Their aura started leaking out of their body, which penetrated in Moonlight’s crystal. He was covered by a magic veil and started transforming. The magic dissipated, revealing Moonlight.
“But, you haven’t transformed?!” asked Twilight. “Did it failed?”
“No” answered Moonlight. “It did something...I think it broke the last contraint preventing me to get complete mastery over my ability. You must remember when i told you i could use any type of magic, but that those that can only be wielded by a specific race of creature had bad side effects on my body, do you?”
“Yes” answered Rainbow Dash.
“Well, if i’m right, i don’t have that setback anymore!!” said Moonlight. “That mean i can use any type of magic, now, regardless of if it’s unique to a race...But how would it be possible?”
“My guess is, your magical nature would change in function of the type of magic you want to use” answered Pinkie Pie. ”For example, if you wanted to use Chaos magic, your magical nature would change to be one of a draconequus...”
“Every magical beings possesses a different magic aura proper to their race” said Moonlight. “Me and Sunny are able to sense them...If your guess is right, Pinkie Pie, Sunny should be able to confirm it”
He turned toward her. Moonlight used umbrum magic to create a black crystal in his hand.
“Did my aura changed?” he asked to Sunny.
“Yes...” she answered. “Your aura changed from one of a Unicorn to one of an Umbrum”
“So, your guess was spot on, Pinkie...” said Moonlight. “My aura changes to attune itself to the type of magic i’m using...I understand why Grogar wanted me so badly...He must want me even more, now that my latent potential has been unlocked...”
He looked at Bill and flew toward him. Moonlight made blue fire appear in his right hand. Bill saw the same fire burning in his eyes and was shocked.
“So, Bill?” asked Moonlight. “Wanna make a deal?”
“How dare you?!!” shouted Bill. “How does a lowly human like you dare copying me!!? A puny mortal like you isn’t worthy to wield my magic!!”
“It seem my taunt worked perfectly” thought Moonlight. “He’s furious, now!”
He made a middle finger to Bill before dodging a beam shot at him by the demon. When Sunset, Sunny and the trio of villain came back, they were joined by the rest of the group.
“Moonlight drew Bill Cipher’s attention on himself.” said Silva. “He’s so brave...”
“He what?!” shouted Sunny. “He’s gonna get himself killed! Why did you let him do this!?”
She was about to take off and join him, but Twilight held her back.
“He’s counting on us to come up with a plan to stop Bill!! Can’t you see?!” she said. “He’s drawing Bill’s attention on himself so he doesn’t kill us before we can come up with a plan to defeat him. He’s literally playing the role of bait...”
“Oh, Moonlight...” said Sunny, worried.
Tirek put his hand on her shoulder.
“We can’t let him hog all the spotlight, right?” he said. “What do you say we give him a hand!!?”
Sunny smiled.
“Well, all on board!!” she said.
Tirek, Chrysalis and Sombra got on her back as soon as she transformed. She flew toward Bill and quickly joined him. Tirek, Sombra and Chrysalis fired a beam that they combined to make a big one.
“More insects?!!” said Bill.
“Sunny!! Get out of here!!” shouted Moonlight.
“No way!!” she answered. “I’m not letting you do this alone!!”
Ragna, Shira, Stygian, Adagio, Aria, Sonata, Shredder, Razor, Flare, Hearts, Rarity, Twilight, Sunset, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie all joined Moonlight.
“But...The plan!!” said Moonlight.
“Screw your plan!!” said Sunset. “We’ll fight all together!! Weither you want it or not!!”
Moonlight smiled.
“In that case...”said Moonlight...”I’m gonna try to prevent you from having your bodies altered by his magic.”
Sunset and her friends ganged up on Bill. Soon, the demon found himself overwhelmed by the attacks coming from every side. He tried turning them to stone or inanimate objects, but Moonlight’s magic was protecting the heroes.
“That’s what human can do when they work together!!” shouted Sunset. “I recommend you to take us seriously, unless you were already trying seriously...”
Bill teleported away and two seconds later, reappeared in space. He had grown to the size of a planet and was looking down on humanity.
“You want me to take this seriously?!!” shouted Bill. “I’m gonna break your pathetic little planet to pieces”
“I knew it was a bad idea to summon him...” said Grogar to himself. ”Bill!! Stop this right now or i’m sending you back to your dimension!!”
He sent that message via telepathy.
“You think you can threaten me!?” shouted Bill. “YOU THINK YOU CAN THREATEN A GOD?!! You think you can boss me around?! I’m gonna destroy this world, then rebuild it into my personal playground, with you in it!! Time to die, humans!!”
“It’s over...” said Sunny. “He’s gonna blow us to kingdom come...”
Bill’s attack was stopped by a magical barrier.
“Who?!” he shouted.
Discord, Cosmos and Eris appeared in front of the heroes.
“I know we said we wouldn’t jump in” said Discord. “But Bill is way more than you can handle...We’ll handle this!!”
“No! Let us deal with him!!” said Sunset. “I have a plan to take him down!!”
“What are you saying, Sunset?!” said Twilight. “We should let them handle him!!”
“No” answered Sunset. “This is our fight...But if you could contain his power to make him easier for us to fight, it would make my plan a lot easier to execute.”
Bill reappeared in front of the group. He was back to his normal size and was looking at the group with shock. He tried to size up, but hit himself to a dome.
“Well, i guess that fight just go more interesting” he said, looking at the draconequuses. “Is this barrier made of unicorn hairs?! How can you possibly know about it’s existence, and how to make one?!”
“I have eyes and ears everywhere, Bill” said Discord.
“This barrier should contain his powers within the limits of the city” said Cosmos. “Good luck with your plan!!”
The 3 draconequuses disappeared. Sunset looked at Bill with a determined expression.
“The end is coming for you, Bill” she said. “You will regret to have underestimated us and the power of Friendship”
“Then come at me!!” he said. “I will all leave you terrorized!!”
The heroes were relentlessly attacking Bill Cipher. Each of them had a role to play in the fight. The 10 Elites of Darkness, now whole again, were attacking him from his left. Tirek, Sombra, Chrysalis, Stygian and the Dazzlings were attacking him from the right. Sunset’s friends were standing at a distance, waiting for the right moment to strike Bill as soon as he ditches his physical body. As for Sunset herself, she had powered-up into her daydream form and was assisting the two groups. Grogar, him, was looking at the battle with a grin on his face.
“I told him not to underestimate those girls.” he said. “He’s taking the fight seriously, but it’s far too late to do so. Also, those girls will never stop to amaze me. Seeing how they were able to turn their enemies into allies is nothing short of a surprise. If i’m not careful, they could do the same with me. Then again, Moonlight is dead set on killing me, and now that he fully awakened his ability, he could probably do so. But i predicted such a thing happening and i’m already prepared to put my counter-measure in action...”
Grogar laughed. Back to Canterlot, the battle was still going and no side had a clear edge over the other. Bill was unable to just turn his enemies into puddles of goo and had to destroy them the old fashioned way. But each time he was close to kill someone, another would step him and get the person out of danger. As for the heroes, all the damages they were inflicting on Bill were immediately cancelled out by his regenerative abilities. Tirek’s draining magic was doing nothing to the demon. All the magic he was absorbing was immediately replenished by Weirdmageddon. Sombra’s shadow crystal, who had magic disrupting properties, was doing nothing to Bill either. Even Chrysalis’ armor, Embedded with fragments of stone from her throne of which had anti-magic properties, didn’t prevent Bill from using his powers. She was still protected against his magic, since the stone shared the same properties of the Unicorn Hair Barrier. To avoid affecting her allies, she was standing high above them and firing at Bill. Occasionally, she would jump in to save them whenever they were in danger. As such, she was the team’s most valuable asset, aside from Moonlight and Sunset. In short, the battle was at a stale. Bill was finally the one getting sick of it first.
“Time Out!!” he said to the group. “It seem this battle is at a stale...I can’t kill you and you can’t kill me. I propose we settle this another way, because this is getting dumb.”
The heroes were staying on their guards.
“And how do you propose we settle this?” asked Moonlight.
“With a deal, of course!!” answered Bill. “How else?!”
“You don’t seriously believe we would accept a deal from you, right?” asked Sunset.
“Everyone got a price” answered Bill. “Everyone desire something from the bottom of their heart. Weither it’s fame, money, love, power, vengeance, freedom or seeing their lost ones again, every humans crave for something.”
“You’re not wrong about that” said Moonlight. “We all got something we want more than anything. But some of us already got what they desire.”
“But not all of you!” said Bill. “Sunset Shimmer, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, Sunny Flame, Silva, Adagio Dazzle, Aria Blaze, Sonata Dusk, Kleaver and Ragna. All of them already got what they wanted most and so, have no desire in their heart. But for the rest of you, Moonlight, Tirek, Sombra, Chrysalis, Razor, Shredder, Flare, Hearts, Shira, Nightmare and even Grogar, you all crave something. Moonlight and Chrysalis want vengeance, Sombra, Grogar and Nightmare want power. Hearts, Flare, Razor and Shredder want violence and destruction. As for Shira and Tirek, they want freedom. I could give those to you, in exchange of something, of course.”
“And what would that be?” asked Sombra. “Our soul?”
“Nah, that would be too cliché...” answered Bill.
“Tempting, but no” said Chrysalis. “You’re definitively gonna add a twist to your deal...I speak from experience...”
“If i had to guess, the twist would be that you’d take over our bodies” said Tirek. “Am i right?”
“Correct” said Bill. “I suppose it take a schemer to see through another schemer’s scheme. As for you 4, Flare, Hearts, Razor and Shredder, i wouldn’t expect you to accept a deal either due to your loyalty to Grogar. Which leaves only Moonlight and Shira...Which one of you want to make a deal with the devil?”
“I’ll get my freedom on my own conditions” said Shira. “I refuse to be trapped with you forever in that other dimension...”
“Understandable” said Bill. “What about you, Moonlight? I could give you the power you need to get your revenge on that old bastard who murdered your mom. Then, after it’s done, your body and soul will be mine in exchange of my services...”
“Right!!” said Sunny. “There’s no way he would even accept your offer!! Right, Moonlight?”
But this one was thinking.
“Are you kidding me?!” she shouted. “You’re seriously considering his offer?! We don’t need his help to beat Grogar!!”
“Maybe” said Moonlight. “But i refuse to put you in danger, Sunny. Grogar will not hesitate to use you or Silva against, or your daughter against you. Or Sunset against her friends and vice-versa. With his power, i could make short work of Grogar and no one would have to die.”
He looked at Bill.
“I put one condition on your deal” said Moonlight. “After taking over my body, you will leave this world and their inhabitants alone and return to the Nightmare Realm.”
“Hell no!!!” said Bill. “I’m not returning to this dimension!!!”
“Then the deal is off” said Moonlight. “Unless you’re willing to negociate new terms. I have a deal to make with you, if you’re interested.”
“Oh oh!!” said Bill. “You have balls proposing ME a deal...I can respect that. Okay, i’ll hear you out...”
“I can’t let you take over this universe, but...I can negociate with Discord to find another for you to reign supreme...” said Moonlight. “One that is already doomed or on the brink of destruction, with minimal to no interference from Discord and other draconequus...You’d be free to cause havok and chaos as much as you want...”
“Keep going...” said Bill, mildly interested.
“The only thing i’m asking in return is for you to tell me how your powers work” said Moonlight. “Your reality-warping magic and precognitive abilities, i want to know everything about them...”
“Only dream demons like me can wield those powers” he said. “But i suppose that won’t be a problem for you, right? Since you’re now able to change your magic nature at will.”
“Do you agree with those terms?” asked Moonlight.
“You got a deal!!” answered Bill.
He offered his hand to Moonlight.
”What an imbecile...” thought Bill. ”As soon as he shake my hand, i’ll take over his body and destroy those puny mortals one by one. They will never dare attack one of their friends...they won’t want to risk injuring him or killing him...”
Moonlight reluctantly shook Bill’s hand.
“You idiot!!” Said Bill. “Now that we shook hand, your body is mine!!!”
Bill shed his physical body, who turned to stone and appeared in his spiritual form. As he was about to enter Moonlight’s body...He saw him smiling and looked at the girls.
“Now!!” Shouted Sunset. “Let’s blast him!!”
...The girls blasted him with a Rainbow Laser.
“Oh shit...” Said Bill.
The Rainbow Laser hit him. At the same time, Sunset blasted her magic at him. The combined effect of the Rainbow Laser and her demonic psychic magic was destroying Bill. He started glitching and taking different forms. Somehow, he was still resisting.
“Not bad...” said Bill. " But i can also regenerate my soul!!”
Moonlight touched Bill’s body and started burning him with his own fire.
“You mentionned earlier that your flames could burn souls...” he said. “Let’s test that, shall we?”
Bill yelled in agony as he was gradually being burned away by Moonlight with his own magic. He looked at Moonlight with hatred.
“How...could i be killed by...lowly humans!?!” He said “Damn it!!! I have no choice but to pray upon HIM!!!”
He looked at the girls.
“Don’t think i’ll be gone forever!! For i shall return!!!” he shouted.
Bill shouted a phrase in an unknown language before being erased completely. The rift he opened started closing almost immediately after he disappeared. Discord took down the magic barrier covering the city and kicked the Weird Gang out of his dimension directly to the Nightmare Realm.
“Come back next year!!!” shouted Discord.
Back on Earth, Everyone was taking a well deserved break.
“We won!!” shouted Rainbow Dash. “Take that, Bill Cipher!!”
“So, now what?” asked Fluttershy.
Flare, Razor, Shredder and Hearts, as well as Chrysalis, Sombra and Tirek moved away and faced the heroes.
“Now that Bill Cipher is dead, our alliance with you is over” answered Razor.
Sunset Shimmer, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Stygian, Adagio, Aria, Sonata, Sunny, Moonlight, Kleaver, Shira, Silva and Ragna took a battle stance.
“I wasn’t expecting anything else from you” said Sunset. “I’m offering you one last chance to redeem yourself and fight against Grogar...”
Her and Twilight transformed and were about to blast the villains should they choose to fight for Grogar.
“You’re not going to win against us, you know that, right?” asked Moonlight. “You 3 got your asses handled to you 3 times and you 4 got defeated by those girls once...”
“And we can do it again...” said Applejack.
Moonlight looked at Tirek, Sombra and Chrysalis. With his magic, he removed their artifacts from their body. Applejack and Ragna disposed of them quickly.
“Grogar can’t do shit against you, now” said Moonlight. “He doesn’t have a hold on you anymore...So, what will you do?”
The trio looked at each other. Sombra was the first one to act and joined the heroes’ side. Pinkie Pie hugged him.
“Let’s face it, girls” he said. “Going up against Grogar is a bad idea, but going up against you is an ever worse idea. So, i’m on your side, girls. That’s what Hope would want me to do, if she was still alive...”
Tirek was the second one to move to the heroes’ side.
“I prefer taking my chance with Grogar than with you, girls...” he said. “But after he’s defeated, i’m back to the wilderness!! Got it?”
Chrysalis was the only one left and she felt everyone staring at her. She sighed and walked over to the heroes’ side.
“I guess i can always start a new hive on my own...” she said. “Don’t make me regret my choice, Moonlight...”
“And you?” asked Sunny to the 4 villains left.
“Dying for Father is the biggest honor for us...” answered Flare. “I’ll stand by his side t’ill the bitter end.”
“Same for me...” answered Razor.
“I’m not afraid to die...” answered Shredder. “I’ll protect Father if it’s the last thing i do!!”
Hearts hesitated.
“My heart lays not in this fight...” she finally answered. “Sorry, guys, Flare, but my near-death experience and my heart to heart with Sunset Shimmer opened my eyes. I want to try this friendship thing of theirs...”
She joined the heroes. Fluttershy hugged her then put her mouth close to her ear.
“Don’t think i’ll forgive you so easily, Hearts...” she whispered. “I’m keeping an eye on you...”
Hearts swallowed her saliva loudly.
“But i’m glad you’re willing to give friendship a chance...” she said with a smile.
“I prefered the old Fluttershy” said Rainbow Dash. “The new one creeps me out at times.”
“I can arrange that for you...” whispered Discord to her ear. “I don’t like that new Fluttershy either...Sending her to the past so she can gain confidence by facing her bullies was a bad idea, all things considered...”
“Wait, it was you?!” asked Rainbow Dash.
“Of course!!” he answered. “Who else do you think can do that kind of stuff?! Now, excuse me a moment, i’ll be back!!”
He disappeared and reappeared a few seconds later. Fluttershy was suddenly submerged by a new flow of memories.
“Done!” said Discord.
Rainbow Dash grabbed Fluttershy.
“Oh, hi Rainbow Dash!!” she said, with a shy voice. “Did i do something wrong? If so, i’m sorry...”
She looked at Hearts. This one memories of her being mangled by beast while Fluttershy was looking were replaced by Fluttershy showing mercy to her.
“I’m glad you’re on our side, sister...” said Fluttershy. “You won’t regret your choice...”
“I hope so...” said Hearts for herself.
“Well then, it’s you 3 against all of us!!” said Moonlight. “Sunset, Twilight, you know what to do...”
The two girls blasted the remaining villains. Razor, Shredder and Flare held hands and looked at each other. But their lasers were reflected back at the two of them. They were knocked down and fell to the ground. Sunny catched Sunset before she hit the ground. Applejack caught Twilight.
“He’s here...” said Moonlight. “Grogar finally showed up...”
Grogar was standing between his loyalists and the heroes.
“First off, your lack of loyalty hurt me a lot” said Grogar. “Out of my 10 Elites of Darkness, 7 defected and those of you i recruited all defected as well...Those girls seem to have poisoned you with their friendship.”
“You do know that we have the numerical advantage, right?” said Rainbow Dash. " There’s no way you can win, old man!!”
“This is why i’ll even the odds...” said Grogar. “New Moon. Rising Dragon. One-Shot. Sugar Bomb. Zero Gravity. Black Tiger. Holy Grail. Razor Edge. Wood Chipper. Fire and Ice.”
As he said those words, Moonlight, Sunny, Shira, Ragna, Silva, Hearts, Kleaver, Razor, Shredder and Flare started having seizures and placed themselves in front of Grogar.
“What the?” asked Twilight. “What’s going on?!”
“I’ll tell you” said Grogar. “They’re under my command, now. The words i just pronounced earlier activated a failsafe i put in place should they ever turn against me. If they don’t serve me of their own will, they’ll serve me agaisnt their will. My Elites, kill them all and bring me their geodes.”
Moonlight and the rest of the 10 Elites attacked the heroes.
“Moonlight!! You’re stronger than that!!” said Rainbow Dash. “Break free!!”
“Mom, please, Mom!!” said Sunset. “It’s me, your daughter!! You have to break free!!”
Grogar laughed.
“It’s useless!!” he said. “They’re only listening to me!! The only way you’ll stop them is by killing them. Then, again, i won’t let that happen!! Give me your geodes and i’ll give your friends back...”
Sunset looked at her friends, who were struggling. Discord, Cosmos and Eris showed up. They immobilized the Elites with their magic.
“It’s very anti climatic, i know...” said Discord.
“I was waiting for you to show up...” said Grogar. “Not even you won’t be able to defeat me!!”
“Someone’s feeling cocky, today!” said Eris. “Maybe you can handle one of us, but 3? You’re dreaming...”
“See the bell i’m wearing on my neck?” asked Grogar. “It’s my Bewitching Bell...Use your magic against me and this beauty will suck it from your bodies.”
“I almost forgot that he has that stupid bell...” said Cosmos. “Plus, you enchanted it so we’d be unable to steal it from you with our magic.”
“Well, in that case...” said Discord. “We’ll be on our way...But not before doing something for them!!”
Discord and Cosmos used their power to undo the brainwashing on the Elites of Darkness. At the same time, Grogar blasted both with his bell. Their magic was drained from their body and they fell on the ground.
“Discord!!! Cosmos!!!” shouted Sunset. “Noooo!!!”
Eris grabbed them both and opened a portal to escape.
“I missed one, but it doesn’t matter” said Grogar. “They’re not a threat anymore...Nah, they were never a threat to begin with!!”
He noticed that Moonlight and Sunny stopped attacking the heroes and were looking at him with anger.
“Sunny, Moonlight!!” shouted Grogar. “Who told you to stop?! Kill them already!!”
“How about we kill you instead?!” Said Moonlight Frost. “I don’t know what you did to us, but we’re ourselves again...”
“I see...” said Grogar. “Well played, Discord, Cosmos...Well played. Still, you can’t attack me nor any of the Elites.”
“But they can’t attack us either...” said Sunny.
“I think that can be arranged...” said Grogar.
He recited a spell in Old Ponish.
“I just removed the spell preventing you to attack each other” said the madman. “Elites, attack everyone except the 7 girls!!”
Kleaver, Flare, Shira, Silva, Hearts, Ragna, Razor and Shredder rushed toward their opponents. Shira chose Chrysalis, Flare attacked Sunny, Silva attacked Moonlight, Heart chose the Sirens, Shredder chose Tirek, Razor chose Sombra, Ragna chose Stygian while Kleaver played the role of support.
“Now, it’s you against me” said Grogar to the girls. “Think you can climb this mountain?”
“We’ll defeat you, Grogar, you can bet on it!!!” said Sunset. “You want this? Come and get it!! Girls, let’s go!”
Rainbow Dash opened the fight by running circles around Grogar. She made a tornado, with the intent of suffocating him in it. The big villain used his magic to take control of the tornado, which ejected Rainbow Dash out of it.
“Ouch!!” she said.
Grogar used magic to increase the size and power of the tornado and threw it at the girls. Applejack clapped her hands and dissipated the vortex. She punched the ground, making a fissure in it, fissure that formed under Grogar. This one levitated and laughed. He lauched a huge ball of magical energy toward the group, that Rarity blocked with a barrier. Grogar threw more projectiles against the barrier. But Rarity was not faltering, blocking projectiles after projectiles. Away, the rest of the heroes had engaged in a battle against the braiwashed Elites of Darkness. Tirek was maintaining Shredder at a distance, since his magic require physical contact to activate. Chrysalis was doing the opposite, fighting Shira at close range. Sombra was on the defensive, deflecting Razor’s long and short ranged attacks. Adagio, Aria and Sonata were taking turns attacking Hearts, who kept transforming from one animal to another. Stygian was knocking away Ragna’s makeshift bombs while making sure to keep him as far as possible. Sunny was bodying Flare mercilessly, countering her elemental powers with her various transformation. Moonlight, him, had already neutralized Silva and was trying to undo the mind control on her.
“You’re good, Tirek.” said Shredder, with a perverted smile. “I will enjoy wearing you after i kill you...”
”I need to be close to him to drain his magic”thought Tirek. ”But if i get too close, this guy will turn me into thousands of little cubes with his magic. I have to catch him off guard, but how?”
“Fighting me at close-quarter combat is a good strategy” said Shira. “My specialty is sniping, after all. But Father insisted that i learn hand to hand combat to balance out my weaknesses. I’m glad i listened to his advice or else you would have already put me down.”
“You can hold your own, alright” said Chrysalis. “But certainly you noticed by now that your magic doesn’t work against me, not while i have this rock embedded in my armor plate. All you can right now is dodge, well, keep dodging, cause your life depends on it!”
“You’re wasting your time, Razor” said Sombra. “Your poor offensive game will never get past my defensive game. I’m starting to get bored, you know.”
“SHUT UP!!!” shouted Razor. “I’ll show you what i’m really capable of!!”
“Is this the power of the Elites of Darkness?” asked Stygian, mockingly. “And here i was expecting a good fight!!”
“All you do is defend yourself...” answered Ragna. “You’re too coward to fight me up close!!”
“She’s really annoying, that one...” said Adagio. “But she won’t evade our attacks forever.”
“Maybe we should try another strategy, Adagio” said Aria. “Any ideas?”
“What’s the problem?” asked Hearts. “You’re 3 and you can’t even hit me? So pathetic!!”
Sunny had defeated Flare and was now heading toward Kleaver.
“Oh, you’re approching me?!” asked the priest.
“I’m gonna punch you until you’re unrecognizable!!” answered Sunny.
Kleaver casted a magic barrier to stop Sunny from approaching him. This one turned into an Hydra and started blasting the barrier with electric plasma breath.
“Such power” thought Kleaver. “Father, give me strenght!! 10 Divine Barriers!”
A magic dome appeared around Kleaver, just as Sunny had broken through his first barrier. She bumped against the magic dome.
“Let’s see if you can get past the 10 Divine Barriers!!” shouted Kleaver.
Sunny started blasting the dome with her plasma breath. Soon enough, the first layer broke. She started attacking the second layer, but it didn’t broke as fast as the last one.
“That second barrier took me way longer to break” thought Sunny. “Could it be that each barrier become stronger the closer i get to him? I can’t imagine how hard the last barrier will be to break...”
Moonlight finally figured out how to undo the brainwashing on Silva and had taken her to safety. He looked at the girls and was going to head to their rescue, but saw Sunny struggling to get to Kleaver. He came across Flare, who had a hole in her chest. Moonlight sighed and used time magic to undo the injury. Flare woke up and before she could move, Moonlight knocked her lights out. He then proceeded to undo Grogar’s brainwashing on her. Speaking of Grogar, this one was giving a hard time to the heroes. He was physically outmatching Applejack and Rainbow Dash strenght and speed, effortlessly blocking Pinkie Pie, Twilight and Sunset’s attacks and relentlessly bombarding Fluttershy and Rarity with magic projectiles, all at once.
“He’s too strong!!” said Twilight. “He’s not even trying!!”
“Don’t underestimate yourselves, girls” said Grogar. “You’re actually keeping me on my toes!! But if that’s your best, you should give me your geodes...”
”Remember, girls” said Eris’ voice to them. ”Your power is limitless, the only thing stopping you is your own doubts. Trust in each other, have faith in your friendship and your Element of Harmony!! Believe in yourselves!!”
Sunny had broken through the fifth barrier and was getting exhausted. Moonlight had undone Grogar’s brainwashing on Flare and was now using a redemption spell on her. Once that was done, he brought her to safety with Silva.
“Now, to help Sunny” he said.
Moonlight rejoined her quickly and saw she was exhausted.
“Brother... You’re...puff...Here!” she said. “I’ll let you handle him, okay? I just need to take a nap...”
“Yes, and i’m impressed that your sister was able to break through half of them” answered Kleaver.
“You’re quite proud of that spell, aren’t you?” said Moonlight. “Seeing how much faith you put in it...Well, it will make it all the more painful when i’ll smash through it...”
“You think you can get past my barrier?” asked Kleaver. “I’d like to see you try!!”
Moonlight sighed and pulled a rapier out of nowhere. He took a deep breath and pointed it toward Kleaver.
“From the Spatial Magic Series: Space-Piercing Strike!” said Moonlight.
“Ha!! You’re wasting your...Ugh!!” said Kleaver.
He looked down and saw a gaping hole in his chest.
“Impossible...” he said, before dropping dead.
Moonlight headed toward him and used time magic to undo his injury. He then knocked out Kleaver as soon as he opened his eyes and like with the two before him, proceeded to undo the brainwashing. Sunset and friends we’re still having a hard time against Grogar, despite Eris’ motivational speech of earlier.
“You’re stronger than you were 5 minutes ago” said the evil tyrant. “But it will take way more than that to beat me...If your power is indeed limitless, then show it!!”
“We’re giving it our all, Sunset, but this bastard just won’t bulge!!” said Twilight.
“We’re not giving up!!” shouted Sunset.
“He have a magic draining bell, right? So why didn’t he used it against us yet?” asked Rarity.
“Cause your magic comes from a magical artifact and the bell can’t take magic away from them” answered Grogar. “My bell only steal magic from beings magical in nature, like your two draconequus friends. “None of you, safe Sunset, are magical beings and as such, the bell won’t affect you...Does that answer your question? I’ll take that as a yes...”
Moonlight was done with Kleaver and was waiting for the others to finish their opponents. He was carrying Sunny in his arm, slighly bothered by her snoring and drooling. In that moment of peace, he looked back at something that happened many centuries ago, during the Medieval Era. It was during his time as a knight that he learned everything about swordsmanship. He remembered being mocked by his fellow knights regarding his choice of weapon. Unlike everyone else, who used standard swords, Moonlight chose a rapier to fight, a fragile and weak weapon in the eyes of warriors. But he was able to turn a seemingly weak weapon into a tool of death. He was so good with his weapon on the battlefield that he was promoted to the rank of Grandmaster in only a few years time. And it was centuries later that he found a type of magic suited to the art of fencing: Space-warping magic. By focusing his magic in the tip or body of the rapier, he was able to increase the piercing and slashing power of his space-warping magic. He was able to deliver an attack that could bypass any protection and directly hit it’s target. His stare left the sky and turned toward the fights. Sunset and friends were still in a bad position while the other heroes were visibly gaining the upper hand over their opponents. The fate of the universe would soon be decided.
Tirek had finally found a way to approach Shredder and drain his magic without being diced into bits. He jumped in the air, which was part of his plan. Shredder took a defensive position, ready to intercept Tirek as soon as he landed behind or in front of him. But that moment never came, as Tirek came crashing down, leveling an entire building down. The dust generated by the landing formed a thick cloud that limited Shredder’s vision. Unable to locate Tirek, he turned around nervously. He couldn’t prevent the magic stealing centaur from getting a hold of him. He felt his energy being sucked from his body and was only released once he had ran out of it. The dust dissipated and Shredder looked at Tirek with an empty stare.
“I win, pal” he said. “Now, to finish you off...”
Moonlight showed up between the two. He put the villain to sleep with a spell then looked at Tirek.
“I need you to give back his magic to him” he asked. “I’m gonna undo Grogar’s brainwashing”
Tirek didn’t argue with Moonlight’s decision and gave the magic he stole from Shredder back. Meanwhile, Chrysalis finally found out how to beat Shira. Turns out the girl was scared of spiders and the former queen didn’t hesitate to take advantage of it. She transformed into a giant Black Heart spider, the most fearsome race of mutant spiders in Equestria and was chasing Shira around. After 2 more minutes, the bad girl finally kicked the bucket and fainted from sheer terror. Chrysalis turned back to normal and laughed. Tirek soon arrived to tell her to bring the body to Moonlight, she was going to ask the reason, but Tirek already anticipated it.
“Something about undoing the brainwashing” said Tirek. “I’m gonna tell the others to do the same...”
He left. Meanwhile, Stygian and Ragna decided to fight at close range and Ragna was getting the shit beaten out of his body. With one last punch, Stygian put him out of commission. Tirek arrived and told him to bring the body to Moonlight. Stygian grabbed the body and headed for Moonlight. Not far away, Sombra was also done with his opponent, who had been impaled by multiple shadow stalagmite. Tirek arrived to his location and told him to bring the body back to Moonlight. When he arrived to the Sirens’ location, he saw that they had defeated the enemy.
“She was a pain in the ass, but Sonata’s strategy worked, surprisingly” said Adagio.
“Neat, now get her to Moonlight.” said Tirek. “That should be the last one of the elites. Sunny defeated Flare, Moonlight defeated Silva and Kleaver, i defeated Shredder, Sombra defeated Razor, Chrysalis defeated Shira, the Dazzlings defeated Hearts and Stygian defeated Ragna. That make 8.”
Moonlight was just being done with Shredder, when Chrysalis arrived with Shira’s body. Moonlight immediately started working on her. A minute later, Sombra arrived and dumped the dead body of Razor.
“Sorry” he said. “But he asked for it.”
Stygian arrived with Ragna’s body, followed a couple minutes later by the Sirens, carrying Hearts. By that time, Moonlight was done with Shira and was working on Razor. He was done with him a couple more minutes later and passed on to Ragna. Finally, 3 minutes later, he was done with Ragna and passed on to Hearts. After he was done with her, he reunited everyone, including the 8 elites, still asleep. He sent them to Eris’ dimension for the moment until he figures out what to do with them once the fight is over.
“Alright, now that’s done, we can turn our attention to Grogar.” he said to the group.
Him, Sunny and the others headed for Grogar. This one had killed Sunset’s friends and stole their geodes. Only Sunset was left, and she was on the verge of death. Grogar was already celebrating his victory and grabbed Sunset by the neck. Suddenly, she disappeared from his hand, as well as the bodies of her friends and their geodes. He turned around and saw Sunny and the others standing close to him. As for Moonlight, he was treating Sunset and her friends out of his sight. Sunny rushed toward Grogar and turned into a Salamander.
“You bastard!!!” she yelled. “You’ll pay for what you’ve done to my daughter!!”
Grogar blasted Sunny with a powerful bolt of magic energy, that she avoided by reverting to her human form. But she was stopped net in her track. Tirek and Sombra attacked Grogar from a distance, while Chrysalis and Stygian got up close. The Dazzlings attacked from above. Grogar redirected Tirek’s beam right back at him, shattered Sombra’s shadow crystal projectiles, blasted Stygian away with a magic attack, kicked Chrysalis in the guts and slammed the Sirens to the ground with gravity magic. Far from being done, the former villains charged at Grogar once more.
“Tell, me, what do you have to win by siding with them, Sombra?” asked Grogar.
“I’m just doing what Radiant Hope would have wanted me to do!!” answered Sombra.
He knocked Grogar back with a magic shadow punch. Chrysalis covered him with a sticky web.
“And what about you, Chrysalis?!” he asked. “Why are you doing this?”
“To live another day” answered Chrysalis. “I’m not following someone that already have one foot in the grave.”
Tirek blasted Grogar with a beam.
“To answer your question, old man, i’m fighting my own battles!!” answered Tirek.
Stygian slammed Grogar with a huge Gleam mace.
“I’m doing this to make my heroes, the Pillars of Harmony, proud!!” he said. “That’s what Starswirl would have wanted me to do!!”
Adagio, Sonata and Aria blasted Grogar with their soundwaves.
“We just want to keep doing what we do best: Inspiring people!!” said Adagio.
“With music...!!” said Aria.
“...And a little bit of magic!!” said Sonata.
Sunny uppercutted Grogar from below.
“That’s for my daughter!!!” she shouted.
Grogar knocked them all away with a powerful shockwave. Moonlight was done patching up Sunset and her friends. He was exhausted mentally and was bleeding from the nose and ears. Sunset gasped in horror.
“We’re alive!!” said Rainbow Dash. “Did you revived us, Moonlight?”
“Sort off” he answered. “It took a huge toll on my brain, hence the bleeding. Don’t worry, though, i’m fine...”
“You idiot!” said Sunset. “Why wasting your energy to revive us? We are no match for Grogar!!”
“Because your geodes still haven’t reached their true power” answered Moonlight. “You’ll have to figure out how to do it on your own...You’ve been relying on them too much in this battle, it’s time you go back to your roots”
“We’re going to make the biggest, greatest, most powerful Rainbow Laser ever!!” said Pinkie. “But will the 7 of us will be enough?”
“We’ll make sure to weaken him for you to finish off” answered Moonlight.
He teleported everyone away from Grogar. This is when a portal opened above them, from which someone fell through. The stranger was looking physically identical to Moonlight, but sharing Sunny and Sunset’s color palette.
“Who are you?” asked Moonlight.
The stranger considered Sunset and her friends, then Moonlight, Sunny and the rest of the group.
“Ouch...This is the last time i’m taking those portals. My name is Sunlight Blaze, if you want to know” answered the stranger. “Since everyone here is alive and well, i guess i landed in a parallel universe. Cause all of you are dead....
He looked at Sunset and her friends.
“You, you turned evil and we had to stop you” said Sunlight. “You, my sister, i impaled you with my sword...”
He then looked at Moonlight and the former villains
“You, you died at her hands” he said, pointing Sunset. “You were a brother to me...As for you 4, Grogar killed you one after another...”
“Wait, wait, wait!” said Sunset. “So, if i understand, you are from another universe, where i’m your sister. I turned evil and you had to kill me...is that correct?”
“Yes” answered Sunlight. “To be honest, seeing you make me feel both happy and sad...You’re my sister, but not MY sister...As for you, Moonlight, you are a clone created by Grogar from my DNA. You were evil at first, but you turned into a good guy and we became basically brothers. We defeated Grogar together, but my evil sister killed you when you sacrificed yourself to protect me. Tell me you’re a good guy in this universe...”
Moonlight, desirous to avoid wasting time explaining his story, simply shared his memories with Sunlight.
“So, your sister is a female version of myself?” asked Sunlight. “And i’m gorgeous, at that!!”
“Is this bad if i suddenly want to fuck him...i mean, myself?” asked Sunny.
“I must admit i’m tempted as well” said Sunlight. “But i guess now is not the time. I can feel his presence...Grogar...”
“What are your powers?” asked Stygian.
“Oh, i don’t have any!” answered Sunlight. “And i don’t need them, because i have this!!”
A cybernetic armor covered his entire body.
“This baby is highly resistant to magical and physical attacks, due to it’s unique alloy.” he said. “I can fly, shoot lasers, fire missiles, survive the vacuum of space, fire blast of energy, slice things with plasma wristblades and more...But that armor isn’t all i’ve got in my arsenal!”
He made two rayguns appear in his hands.
“Here’s Sally and Molly, my twin blasters!” said Sunlight. “They can shoot plasma beam and elemental projectiles.”
He then drew out two katanas.
“Those babies are made of anti-magic stone and hyper durable” he said. “Useful when almost everyone i’m fighting possess magic. They help leveling up the playing field, here, Moonlight, take them!”
Moonlight took the swords, still inside their sheat.
“As long as the sword are inside their sheat, their antimagic properties won’t work.” said Sunlight. “Oh!! I almost forgot!! I got gifts for you, guys!! For you, Tirek, here’s Titanomachia, a mallet that can change size and belonged to my Tirek...He doesn’t need it anymore, since he’s dead!”
Tirek took the weapon, embarrassed.
“For Chrysalis, i have Whisperia, a magic flute that, depending on the melody played, have different effects on it’s targets.” said Sunlight. “It was my Chrysalis’ weapon before she died...”
He looked at Sombra and gave him a longsword.
“Here’s Duskbreaker” said Sunlight. “Beside absorbing magic like a black hole, it’s blade generate a field of antimatter that can tear through anything, and i say anything like it’s butter.”
He gave Stygian a staff.
“This staff belonged to my Stygian, who got it from Starswirl the Bearded. Apparently, Starswirl infused part of his soul and all his memories into it. Stygian often called upon him for advices, or just chatting...”
He looked at Sunny.
“Don’t worry, i didn’t forget you...” he said. “My Discord gave me those elemental gems...They hold tremendous power, i have no use for them...”
Sunny grabbed the 9 gems and ate them one after another, under Sunlight’s shocked expression.
“I suppose it’s one way to assimilate their power...” he said. “Each of them contains an Elemental Guardian. The Flame Dragon, Ragnor. The Sky Goddess, Borea, The Venerable Turtoise, Maelstrom, The Unbreakable Titan, Gaius, The Raging Storm, Raikiri, The Jungle King, Blackthorn, The Frozen Fury, Polaris, the White Sage, Brightscale and finally, the Shadow Queen, Medusa. By eating the gems, i’m afraid you’re gonna share your body with them...But on the bright side!! You gained their incredible powers...You might even draw upon their knowledge and experience...”
He noticed that Moonlight disappeared.
“Where did he go, that fucking idiot?!” said Sunny. “Don’t tell me that he...No...he didn’t...”
She ran and saw Moonlight fighting Grogar. This one was using the two katanas to deflect Grogar’s desperate attacks. When she ran in his direction, a magic trap ejected her backward. She was joined by the others and warned them of the trap.
“Moonlight!!!” shouted Sunny. “What are you doing?! We’re supposed to fight him all together!!”
“He’s mine!!!” shouted Moonlight with a voice that wasn’t his “I waited 3000 years for this opportunity...And my patience is finally paying off!! For his crimes, for what he did, he will die...By my hand...”
“Hello, Darling...” said Grogar, mockingly. “Nice to hear your voice again...”
Moonlight was fighting his mother’s overwhelming presence. He threw the katanas away, out of reach.
“Moonlight...my dear boy...why are you fighting me? Don’t you want to avenge me?” said her mother.
“All i want is to keep Sunny safe, protect her from harm...Killing Grogar is what YOU desire...not me...” said Moonlight. “Sure, the bastard did a lot of evil, and he deserve to be punished for his crimes...But i refuse to be the instrument of your vengeance...”
Grogar smiled and casted a spell on Moonlight. A couple seconds later, a woman emerged from Moonlight’s body. This one recognized the person standing right next to him: His mother.
“My body...i have a body again...But how? What have you done?!” she asked to Grogar.
“I simply dissociated you and him from each other.” he answered. “The fact you gained a physical body is beyond me...”
“Magical substantiation” answered Moonlight. “A direct effect of soul dissociation...You of all people should know that kind of stuff, old man. Man, my mind feel so clear all of a sudden”
Moonlight’s mother grabbed the anti-magic swords and ran toward Grogar afterward. Chrysalis knocked them out of her hands with magic projectiles, leaving the woman shocked.
“Did she used magic on me?” she asked. “But how? I thought those swords nullified magic!!!”
“Their anti-magic properties have no effect on us, Changelings” answered Chrysalis. “Normal, since that material is native of the Changeling Kingdom...my kingdom. Can’t have powerful foes using their magic against me. You decide what to do with her, Moonlight!!”
Before he could answer, Grogar pierced the woman’s heart with a magic projectile, killing her on the spot, under everyone’s shocked looks. To make sure Moonlight couldn’t bring her back by reversing time, he opened a portal to a dimension only he knew the existence of in which she fell. He then closed the portal and laughed maniacally.
“This time, she won’t come back!!” said Grogar.
Without a second thought, Moonlight pulled the katanas toward him. With the first one, he stabbed Grogar in the heart. With the other katana, he sliced his head off. Grogar’s head rolled to Moonlight’s feet and this one kicked it away in a portal to an unknown dimension, along with the body. He shut down the portal and planted his swords in the ground. Sunny and the others were shocked by such coldness and were silent.
“It’s over.” said Moonlight. “Why are you looking at me like that? That bastard killed our mother right in front of my eyes...He deserved it...”
He grabbed the Bewitching Bell.
“Eris, bring me Discord and Cosmos.” he asked.
Eris opened a portal and dropped Discord and Cosmos in front of him. Moonlight zapped them with the bell and gave them back their magic.
“Now, fix everything and make sure no one except us remember what transpired.” he said.
“That was cold, even for you” said Discord.
Moonlight shoved the Bell in a pocket dimension and turned back without saying a word. Sunny walked toward him, ready to hug him.
“No” he said. “I need some time alone.”
He disappeared through a portal. Sunny and Sunset looked at each other, worried.
“If you want my opinion, i’d say he’s in shock” said Cosmos. “Seeing his own mother die would traumatize anyone. He’ll need all the support he can get...”
This is on this cloudy day that Equestria’s biggest crisis was avoided...The heroes had defeated Grogar, putting an end to his plans of conquest and each of them were wondering what to do now.
