Prologue: A Mystical Land
"Right then it's settled Jacob you and me are going underground looking for ores.Ryan you head to the east try to find a dungeon .Zak You try to find a Sky island. Are we all clear on what we're doing?"
Ryan simply replied "Toby when did we make you in charge?"
Toby thought for a second and came up with "Well if we all have copper items and we need better items then ores are important thus due to us having the most important job me and Jacob are in charge!"
"Jacob and I" Zak Spoke in his general meek manner and as usual he went unheard
Ryan began his journey east through field that was once a forest a few saplings remnants of what once was before they arrived
Maybe one day the forest would return. These were the lonely thoughts Ryan pondered on his often lonesome journeys through this unusual land.
It was only a week ago that they arrived here none of them new each other but soon they banded together through will of survival fear of death making friends or whatever they had managed to build a house well more a village nearby there point of arrival. Of course they would have known none of this if it weren't for Tanner resident guide and idiotic prick but he helped when he wasn't opening doors for slimes.
Speaking of slimes Ryan hadn't wandered far before he came across his first swarm of the gelatinous creatures. They burnt like hell if they could touch you as evidenced by burn marks on everyone. By now though the slimes were more of a nuisance then a threat. Ryan readied his spear it wasn't well made being bent at the shaft and blunt on the tip it was still better then the copper short swords everyone else carried around of course no one knew about the spear.
He found them irritatingly stupid yet strangely cunning as he made a mental note to watch out for them. Zak wasn't strong willed he and wasn't brave honestly he seemed useless yet as they soon saw Zak could make exceptional structures. Now Ryan he was always a fighter he took kendo back home wherever that was but alas he knew how to wield a sword and other weapons to good effect.
Once more Ryan realised he was getting lost in his own mind so he trudged on or rather he was going to before he was interrupted by a cry for help "That didn't sound like the others." he said aloud increasing in speed. As he got closer
he could make out a vague shape and could only think is that a unicorn?
Chapter 1: Who What When Where Why?
It was shortly after twilight awoke in this odd land and soon she was besieged by these slime creatures.she had managed to find a ledge out of the creatures reach. Now though she saw a figure moving towards her it moved on two legs at a rapid rate
and it had a short black mane. would it be a mane? twilight thought to herself but that was the least of here thoughts was this thing going to save me? Is it just defending me as prey? Where are my friends? That last thought thought troubled her were they in similar situations. A wet goo splashed into twilights face she snapped back into reality to see this creature in full view wielding what appeared to be a spear.
Ryan was wondering what this equine was he'd never seen anything like it, it seemed to need help so that's what he did.Using the spear he pierced the slime membrane he then ripped the spear at an angle splattering the slime all over.He did this several times.Reaching out to the cowering pony and asked "hey you all right?".
A few moments passed twilight was pondering whether to reply or not and Ryan was questioning the intelligence of this new creature.
"Y-yeah I'm fine." Twilight muttered... More silence
"Well that's a relief I thought those slimes had gotten to you." Ryan said,surprisingly calmly
"Aren't you even shocked to find a similarly intelligent creature.After all I'm shocked that something like you exists." Twilight said, trying to figure out why this creature is so laid back.
"Well three things.One I have a name and that name is Ryan.Second this land is unusual I have seen things you wouldn't believe and finally I am not the only one of my kind here if you come with me I could give you shelter especially as it's nearing night." Stated Ryan plainly
"Well what's so bad about night? Afraid of the dark?" Twilight chuckled obviously trying to lighten the mood
"Hardly, remember when I said I had seen things you would not believe and my obvious fear of night I think you can work out the rest." Ryan Said
"I think I understand now but if I am to come with you I need a way of defending myself." Twilight said, becoming more cooperative
"Right,I think I have an idea." Ryan raised the axe he was carrying in his backpack and brought it down severing his spear's tip from the shaft.He checked to see if the inside of the tip was hollow and sure enough it was.Looking at Twilight's horn he noticed that the tip was slightly larger than her horn. "how convenient." He muttered under his breath.Without a word Ryan moved towards Twilight and placed the spar tip over her horn.
"GAH! Could you please warn me if you're going to do something like that!" Twilight yelled causing a slight spark to appear on her mane.
Ryan reeled back in fear."R-r-right sorry miss..."
"Sparkle,Twilight Sparkle"
"Interesting name to say the least' anyway we should get moving." Ryan said
They soon arrived back at the house along the way they had spoke of many things about each other such as Ryan's limited memory of home and Twilight's friends,home and magic."As usual I'm the first one back Jacob and Toby are probably lost and Zak's probably afraid of heights now or something." Ryan groaned as he saw the empty home
"I'm sorry but I don't think you told me about the others who you just mentioned." Twilight said
"And you'd be right I dislike them ergo I do not wish to talk about them but knowing you from what you have told me you wont let this go.So anyway Jacob and Toby are complete idiots yet at the same time they appear to be quite cunning I have made note to watch them.Now for Zak he is meek shy easily intimidated basically he can't stand up for himself he definitely has potential but sadly his demeanour limits him." Ryan said almost sounding like a librarian giving a plot synopsis.
"Interesting I take it you do not know these people very well and all you know is what you have seen on the surface and from their speech?" Twilight deduced
"You would be completely correct.But anyway welcome to your room, well my room, but considering you're the only one I can get along with out here you can share it with me for the time being." Said Ryan being unusually generous.
"You really don't need to I ca-" Twilight was interrupted by Ryan
"You can what?I don't trust Jacob or Toby to look out for anyone other than themselves so you cant stay in their room and Zak well he would just have a mental breakdown. speaking of Zak I wonder where he is now."
Zak had managed to find an island that defied gravity but he had one problem how would he get up there.He had managed to figure out a way up and upon reaching the top he saw a cowering yellow pegasus with several cyan feathers embedded in it's back.Zak was so memorised by the sight he was completely oblivious to the dirt he was climbing to get onto the island was crumbling beneath him.
