Prologue

After having remained empty for decades, the Zebrican Embassy in canterlot is once again occupied by emissaries of the Imperium Zebricum. A great emphasis is placed on the cordial relations between the two states as well as the eagerness of Zebricans to exchange culture. Because of the Equestrian governmental system, regular meetings with Equestria’s two diarchs are impossible, so the prime diplomat agrees to conduct business with Princess Twilight Sparkle in Ponyville instead. Zekyr is seen at the young princess’s castle as talks begin.

Zebras are becoming a less rare sight in Canterlot and Ponyville. A keen interest is taken in their culture by some of the pastel inhabitants of the two cities. Twilight Sparkle is regularly seen with Zekyr and announces the beginnings of great new trade deals and treaties between the two nations.

Zebras are now a common sight in central Equestria. Due to an unnamed disaster in Zebrica, refugees have begun pouring in. Despite some protesting, Zebrican businesses are opened in Canterlot and Ponyville that promise authentic Zebrican fashion, food and whatever else could be desired. Some mares even enter into romantic relationships with Zebricans although the seemingly nonexistent zebra mares don’t afford that luxury to their pony male counterparts. Celestia is seen in Ponyville for her first official meeting with Zekyr. The high princess is rumored to not walk for days afterword and worries of sickness begin to spread but are quickly quelled by a public appearance a week later. Twilight Sparkle announces her castle as a home for any Zebra stallions needing temporary housing.

In a turn of events that shocks Ponyville, the Elements of Harmony engage in a spectacular dispute in town and leading into Twilight's Palace. Hours later an irate Applejack and Rainbowdash dragging Fluttershy storm out of the palace and split up with the two pegasi heading into the clouds. Applejack is seen walking towards her family farm, attempting to warn everypony she comes across of some "zebra threat" without much success. The next day a missing pony report is filed by Granny Smith but is given no attention by authorities. Twilight makes a public appearance a week later saying that the relationship between the famed friends is healthy and an understanding has been come to. Many report seeing splotches of black underneath the alicorn's dress. Rainbowdash is seen much less around the princess but is almost inseparable from Fluttershy. No public comments are given from either of them. Rarity is seen sporting painted on stripes at a high-class party as a "fashion statement" surrounded by Zebra stallions.

Zebrican culture has become the new popular culture, especially among pony mares and foals. Zebrican-pony relationships are beginning to outnumber traditional ones and reports of marefriends and wives leaving their pony stallions have begun to crop up. Celestia refuses to comment on these events but has also not met with a Zebra since her first encounter with Zekyr. Twilight Sparkle welcomes the changes as a “necessary part of Zebrican-Equestrian relations and a point of pride for our inclusivity!”

A livestream is playing to a hundred thousand viewers throughout Equestria.
