Opposites attract Is a common saying that people use in romance constantly; it’s usually applied to parings such as an athletic guy falling in love with an intelligent girl or a rebel from the wrong side of the tracks falling for a privileged woman who doesn’t seem to care for his low-class ways.
But this is a paring not just of opposites but of complete antithesis colliding together; a girl of elegance and grace with a heart of generosity meets a young man draped in Ill manners and a foul temper whose primary motivation is greed.
These two had no idea that their paths shall cross in each other’s lives with all the hardships and joys it entails. So we shall hear this tale set in the the humble cul de sac of Peach Creek, a quiet town for the most part except for the cul de sac itself. A somewhat chaotic part of the town
We start with the first major player in our drama. Eddy Sampson; He was a diminutive young man whose face was currently marred by an bored scowl, He was clad in a yellow and purple shirt blue pants red shoes and upon his head he was all but bald with three black hair spikes being the only thing keeping him from being completely hairless. While looks wise he was definitely not what most women would consider their type it was his personality that tended to test patience.
Eddy was not what one would call kind or generous, He was a man full of aggression and spite. His massive temper more then making up for lack of height, he was also manipulative, Crude and somewhat cowardly. But what truly ruined Eddy's life Was the insatiable bottomless Greed in his core.
Eddy was a man full of avaricious desire for wealth and ambition that drives him to scam and con his way through life even at the detriment of his reputation and health. Despite all this however over shadowed by his behavior and hunger for wealth was his hidden shining qualities A true care for his friends, Determination and a desire to protect his friends. But today was different.
Today Eddy simply didn't have the care to make a scam, for he was currently still nursing several injuries from what he called number 5 on his list of worst decisions. The other day Eddy finally got up the courage to ask out beauty queen of Peach Creek, Nazz Van Bartonshmir and to say it didn't go well was an understatement. It wasn't so much Nazz saying No as at the very least she was nice about it after all kindly informing Eddy of her recent Decision to actually start dating her longtime friend and Eddy's oldest rival Kevin. Eddy simply hid his disappointment and walked away but he didn't count on one thing.
Kevin's personal toadie and number one fan Johnny 2x4. The creep hid And listened and then immediately fled to his overlord Kevin and ratted him out. So later on as Eddy walked around Kevin,Johnny And his other two henchmen Wimpy little Jimmy And big mouthed brat Sarah cornered him and ganged up on him. Eddy received his worst beating from Kevin yet ( Though he's dealt with far worse from his stalker Lee Kanker and even worse from... him) Eddy fought back but he was outnumbered. Eventually Kevin ended his assault and simply told Eddy to " Never go near his girl again" before they walked off leaving him there.
Fortunately Eddy at least had the strength to walk home but still he decided to rest for a bit. He probably would have simply waited around for him to feel better but then he heard a knock at the door. Eddy walked over and opened and saw his best friends
. One was tall and yellow skinned with somewhat Unwashed and greasy red hair, and wore a red and white shirt with a green jacket over it, He also had blue pants and black shoes. This was Ed an oafish but imaginative young man with the strength of ten men.
Standing next to him was. A lanky man with a black eye and standing at average height he had a orange shirt and purple pants with black shoes. His most distinctive feature being a black beanie upon his head. This was Double Dee or Edd he was known as the single most intelligent person in peach creek though also the frailest and most insecure . But what he lacked in physical abilities and confidence he made up for in kindness and empathy.
The trio had been best friends their entire life. And where the towns most common troublemakers, But today was different. The other Ed's had become worried for Eddy after hearing what happened with Kevin. Eddy had never actually tried asking a girl out but Double Dee said he shouldn't risk angering Kevin by asking out the mutual crush of all peach creek. He knew she'd probably say no due to her feelings for Kevin but he didn't imagine Kevin's violent retaliation would be so brutal. To that end Double Dee threatened Kevin that he'd tell Nazz of his cruel actions only to be violently struck and told him should he tell Nazz he'd do worse to all three of them. So needless to say all Double Dee could do was make sure Eddy moved on from this.
" Hello Eddy how are you feeling?" Double Dee asked despite knowing how pitiful a question it was. A thought that only was proven by Eddy's glare
" What do you think sockhat? I've been attacked and the jerk who did it is lounging with the girl of my dreams." Eddy said bitterly
" Ooh I know! Let's use the el mongo stink bomb on Kevin then we win!" Ed said happily
" No we don't. Hell smell bad and get off Scott free as always and we'll get in trouble or humiliated. And Nazz still won't see through the whole big man on campus routine." Eddy said storming off
" Oh come now Eddy it's not up to you who Nazz dates." Double Dee said
" No it's not but it's up to me the give up." Eddy said
" Give up? You don't give up." Ed said
" Me and Nazz ain't gonna happen that has been proven. So let her date the jerk and I'm gonna move on." Eddy said
" That's... Suprisingly mature for you Eddy." Double Dee said suprised.
" Good. Maybe some day I'll believe it." Eddy said before sitting in his chair. " Can we talk later guys I'm tired." Eddy asked
Double Dee and Ed looked at one another and realized Eddy needed more time.
" Very well then but just remember Eddy Nazz isn't the only girl out there." Double Dee said before they left.
Eddy stared at the tv annoyed " No. but I doubt There's any better." Eddy said bitterly before passing out for a nap
New people tend not to show upin Peach Creek.This reason caused the monotony to be broken very quickly by the arrival of one recent visitor to the town. Sitting in the passenger seat Was a young woman with displeasure written on her fair face.
At first sight of her, you knew she was an exquisite beauty; She had a slender frame, and her skin was flawless and matched the snow in color; her eyes were sky blue, and though currently marred with irritation, they usually sparkled an expressive kindness within; Her hair which was a vibrant shade of purple and reached halfway down her back was diligently curled and styled perfectly. She has dressed in a light blue sweater with the sleeves rolled up and a purple skirt with the image of three diamonds etched into it; she had purple boots and golden bracelets on her wrist.
Her name was Rarity Belle, and she was on track for a school year she would not enjoy. After the summer break incident with Gaea Everfree, Her parents wanted her to have a “Nice typical year with no Demonic versions of her friends, Hate spreading music groups or psychotic Forest monsters.” So they made arrangements for her to spend the year with her cousin Nazz and her family.
Now While Rarity loves her relatives, she is still miffed by her parents decided to take her away from her friends and stick her in this nowhere town that Nazz kept saying was so dull compared to Canterlot in their webcam conversations. A school year of nothing to do in this tiny hamlet, far from her friends and family and All the shops, cinemas, and restaurants she enjoyed going to."Here we are" Her mother Cookies Crumbles said as The car passed the entrance sign into Peach creek . She turned to her daughter noticing her daughters disapproving scowl.
Cookie let out a deep sigh before addressing her daughter " Rarity I know this wasn't how you wanted to spend the school year but Canterlot High is just too dangerous lately and we just think you could use a normal year." Rarity glared at her mother.
" A normal school year? Mother how exactly am I to do that in a town I barely know? Rarity said angered
" Oh Rarity can't ya see magic monsters, Growing pony ears and forest witches aren't how a girl should spend her high school years? We didn't mind at first but then when made those diamonds appear out of nowhere we knew something had to be done." Cookie said sternly
"I know but i like The magic and it doesn't hurt anyone." Rarity said
" Until ya do it in front of a crowd of strangers and they don't find it cool." Cookie said vocalizing her biggest fear about the situation. She Kept having nightmare that outside of Canterlot folks would have a poor reaction when her daughter and friends " ponied up" as they called it and a new witch trial would begin. Next she her Daughter and her friends were being hunted like animals, dragged out of their homes as she and her husband Hondo Flanks were held back unable to help their screaming eldest and then watched as The girls were swarmed by the crowds. At first She dismissed her dreams but lately she's been hearing " Whispers" Amongst the town of some folks growing concerned about what has been going on in Canterlot. So Cookie and Hondo discussed it and despite their limited magical knowledge Maybe Rarity would lose it after time apart from her friends, do they called up Cookies sister and arranged for this school year to be spent in a nice quiet town ( What they assumed peach creek was anyway)
Any further conversation was cut off by them stopping at their relatives house where a young slender blonde girl about Rarity's age with her hair in a bobcut style was waiting. "Rarity! Aunt Cookie!" Nazz said waving as the two got out of the car. Cookie instantly embraced her niece, Rarity also hugged her.
" Nazzie! It's been too long how's your mom?" Cookie asked letting go of her.
" Oh she's fine. Real estate is keeping her busy. So Rarity ready to see Peach Creek?" Nazz asked. Rarity gave a polite smile and answered " Yes that would lovely but first would you mind helping me with my bags?"Rarity asked getting some of her bags.
" Sure!" Nazz said grabbing the rest. Once they had emptied the car of Rarity's items. Cookie spoke up
" Alright girls I must be going. Well call you in a few days Rarity! Goodbye!" The older women said getting in her car and driving away as the younger girls said goodbye to her watching her drive away leaving the two alone.
" So What do we do now?" Rarity asked
" Unfortunately not much to do here. One thing was going to the candy store but they got a knew employee there who's just not... a people person. " Nazz grimaced "Wanna just watch tv for a bit?" Nazz said, Rarity shrugged and Nazz went inside. Rarity took a look around the cul de sac and sighed before following her cousin . She had no idea how she’d spend this year, but the young woman doubted she’d have any excitement during this school year . She had no idea how wrong she’ll be.
In another time Eddy would have tried something convoluted and elaborate to avoid the first day of school. He may have painted every leaf green and stole every calendar to fend off another year of academics and forced contact with those he'd rather avoid. But he after spending a week licking his wounds and healing from the Kevin incident he didn't have the time or energy to do so. So to that end the fully healed boy trotted along with his friends, Double Dee about to wet himself in excitement and Ed smiling not caring either way.Eddy despised school but understandably being around the animals that assaulted him with even the least competent adult supervision has lost appeal. So he trudged along. So eager to avoid his neighbors he and the other two Ed's believe they left before them.
" A bright full year academic advancement and potential alteration of social standings! Can't ya just feel it in the air?!" Double Dee said Happily. Though his excited smile melted off his face upon seeing Eddys sullen expression " Are you alright Eddy?" Double Dee asked. Eddy glared at him.
" Just Fine sockhead." Eddy grumbled
Double Dee Noticed his friends genuine aggravation and quickly deduced the reason " Eddy you cannot just avoid what happened forever." He said sagely. Eddy simply glared at his friends
" Yeah by law I'm stuck dealing with the asshole brigade that attacked me and will be forced to watch the girl I've crushed on since I was six be with the prick who led the assault. All cause I gotta learn crap I don't frigging care about from teachers who don't care about me." Eddy said in anger he turned away from Double Dee and his expression only darkened upon seeing a certain group of people up ahead. Double Dee followed his gaze and his face became a matching glare.
Up ahead from them was the group of delinquents that assaulted the Ed's numerous times throughout their lives. Apparently having already arrived They walked with the usual arrogance that the apparent in crowds usually held, The general air of those who believed they were untouchable and superior towards everyone especially the Ed's.
At the end of the group was Johnny. A tanned skin boy with an overly large head lacking any hair beyond stubble and with an overbite and expression of sycophantic awe upon his face. He was a scrawny young man with no muscle on him and was wearing a white sweater blue pants and sandals.
Next to him where the two youngest children in the group.the boy was Jimmy a young man who looked even frailer than Johnny, his skin was shockingly pale and his hair was done in a bizarre rooster like style He wore a long sleeved blue shirt and white pants with black shoes. But the most noticeable thing about him was the rather large retainer he wore. Next to him was a girl with Shoulder length red hair and a rather large mouth with an average build, she was clad in a pink shirt currently covered by her light blue jacket and wore blue pants and black shoes. This was Sarah Ed's little sister and unofficial brute of the group.
And In front of them was him. The architect of their torment and leader of the group. Standing by his precious bike and leaning against the school bike rail was Kevin, He was more athletic looking in build but still didn't have much muscle on him. He wore his usual lime green sweater with an orange hooded jacket over it and wearing a red hat over his red hair. He had a smug look upon his face as he looked at his minions. He caught sight eddy and sent a menacing smirk towards him filling the diminutive boy with rage
" Eddy just ignore them they aren't worth it." Double Dee said with a calming hand on his shoulder. Unfortunately For them Kevin heard them.
" Oh we aren't huh?!" The jock said as the mob turned towards the trio Johnny and jimmy looked fairly neutral to the boys but Sarah smiled like a shark sensing blood. Double Dee Looked at them distastefully.
" No not one of you are. And you never have been." He responded
" Oh really!? Ya think your better than us!?" Sarah said
" Hard to be worse brat." Eddy added.
" We aren't afraid to teach ya another lesson dork, Maybe a permanent one." Kevin said cracking his knuckles. Ed stood before his friends protectively with a threatening look of his own Sarah sneered at him But Kevin didn't want to challenge the Ed who could probably crush them all.
A tense silence was in the air before eddy sighed tiredly and walked past the quartet without saying anything. Ed and Double Dee shot a glare at them before following their friend.
" Good god I don't think Eddy's ever been so defeated before." Jimmy said with a twinge of guilt towards what they did.
" Well now he knows Kevin runs the neighborhood!" Johnny said in an attempt to get points with his idol. Kevin for his part simply rolled his eyes at Johnny's suck up attempt. For all the usefulness his whole borderline religious worship of him did Kevin it could try his patience at times.
" Whatever Eddy should know his place now and if his buddies need to learn theirs will teach it. Especially if they tell Nazz what happened." Kevin said knowing despite his self justification that Nazz wouldn't be pleased with the whole " Eddy Debacle" but as long as she doesn't know it won't hurt her.
" Those three Idiots are planning something. Let's just teach em now before it's done." Sarah said savagely.
" Calm down Sarah. We aren't doing anything till we have to. For now the dorks aren't an issue. So be quiet here comes Nazz." Kevin said upon seeing Nazzs moms car. Instantly switiching from tormentor of his enemies to loving boyfriend. Sarah and jimmy watch with neutral expressions as Nazzs ride parked at the curb but Johnny was hiding a somewhat jealous expression.Nazz Stepped out her usual outfit covered by a blue sweater jacket and ran towards her boyfriend and they embraced Sarah and jimmy looked disinterested in this but Johnny's face seemed more envious. They didn't notice the somewhat more sullen Rarity following her out of the car. She looked at peach creek high and was unimpressed by it. She let out a sigh and watched her cousin and her boyfriends romantic moment
" Hey babe. Almost missed the bell." He said with a teasing grin. Nazz shoved him playfully before responding
" Sorry I had to wait for some one to get ready." Nazz said in mock annoyance as she looked at her cousin who smirked at her
" Well some of Us have a little more maintenance to prepare for their first day. Hello everyone." Rarity greeted. The group returned her greeting with various types of sincere politness. A bell then rang from within the school and the group went inside the building. Rarity let out a sigh wondering what this day could hold.
" So what?” Eddy asked listlessly when Double Dee informed them about the seating chart separating them. Eddy understood that double Dee and Ed where upset and he wasn’t exactly thrilled about it in all honesty, but Eddy simply didn’t Care enough to do anything about it.
" Well I kinda expected you to be slightly more upset.” Double Dee said
Eddy shrugged his shoulders " Eh can’t you just sign some form or something?” Eddy asked
" Well yes but it would take 4 weeks for it to be approved.” Double Dee said
“Fine do that and we’ll just deal with being separated for a bit” Eddy said
“But Eddy!” Ed said
" I don’t want to hear it lumpy. Any scheme we could come up with would somehow make it worse because it always does. " Eddy said
" Awe poor whittle Eddy is all sad isn’t that cute?” A grating voice said making Eddy roll his eyes in irritation. He turned to glare at the voices owner and saw it was none other the bane of his existence The Kanker Sisters led by their leader Lee Kanker. She stood before the trio with an unnecessarily arrogant smirk that said she believed she would win, She had long held a deep obsessive interest in Eddy same as her two sisters held in the other two Eds, Her sisters who currently flanked her with matching grins. Eddy used to be scared of her but as time went on he realized the Kankers weren’t worth it.
Ever since they moved here 2 years ago the Kankers had terrorized the trio simply cause they found them cute and assumed they would fall in love with them instantly. Problem being They had nothing positive to find appealing about them.
Lee Was tall with her eyes covered by a giant mass of orange curled hairs, her smirking showcasing her vaguely yellowish rows of teeth only broken up by a single blue tooth. She wore a white tank top covered in red polka dots and blue jeans and black shoes. While not great to look at it was her temper sadism and generally cruelty that not even her sisters were safe from that sank any chance of Eddy’s interest
On her left was the second oldest and Double Dee’s stalker Marie. Eddy had to admit she was the closest to pretty out of the trio, Her blue shoulder length hair was somewhat more well maintained than her sisters and was done in a way to cover one eye giving her a more mysterious look, and in general she seemed to be the most hygienic of the trio. She was wearing a black tank top and while her shoes where the same as Lees her pants were a dark green. That being said despite her being the best looking Kanker she ruined it by being probably the most violent of the three and most defensive of Her status as Double Dee’s “Girlfriend” Resorting to violence on a whim.
And finally the least evil of the sisters May who was Eds Stalker. While not as outwardly malicious as the other two her childish devotion to her big sisters along with her own love of violence means shes still far from good. Her long dirty yellow hair,freckles and large buckteeth gave her a trashy look she wore bright red shorts and black shoes.
Eddy didn’t want to deal with any of them but knew they wouldn’t go away
" What Do you want Lee?” Eddy asked while Double Dee stood calmly but fearfully while Ed Shook in fear like he couldn’t just rip them apart had his mom not terrified him from ever defending himself.
" Heard that the brain dead jock worked ya over for asking out the bimbo. So maybe ya finally came to your senses and decided to admit we are soulmates?” Lee said in the vaguely threatening tone she always made her advances with earning a mere scoff. They were not soulmates in the Slightest, Eddy despised her and Lee simply enjoyed terrorizing him due to her unhealthy crush.
" How do you even know about that?” Eddy asked
Lee scoffed " That weird bald kid told us hoping wed spread the word to Blondie so she’d dump the jock. Between us i think he really wants hat boy to himself.” Lee answered to the mutual disgust of Eds and Kankers alike
" And ya didn’t pass it along?” Eddy said surprised knowing the Kankers love of causing trouble in the cul de sac would have them spread that around just to watch the chaos.
" So The bimbo dumps him and you get another chance to pretend like we aint gonna get together? Hell no” Lee said. Eddy glared at her for using this to make her move.
" Well we aint gonna get together Lee accept that! I’m tired of you not getting this We eds don’t like you! Physically you aren’t appealing and personality wise your worse i’m done playing this game so whatever you want not interested.” Eddy said.
" Oh really not even Switching home-rooms to be with your friends?” Lee said with smirk.
" Really?” Double Dee asked
" Don’t bother sock head. Its always some dumb scheme with them. Let me guess you make us say we are dating you three in front of everyone humiliating us in the process then you trick us into getting ourselves locked in a room with you and you kiss attack us even though we desperately scream for you to stop?” Eddy said the stunned looks on the girls faces was all the answer he needed.
" Thought so. Guys lets get to class” Eddy said as he and the Eds walked away. Lee yelled after him
" Act cocky all ya want dreamboat! But all three us have your homeroom so we’ll see how long this smugness last!” She shouts as Eddy ignored her
" Like i care Kanker witch.” Eddy said
" But Eddy We wont be in the same homeroom.” Ed said fearfully.
" Well don’t worry Ed we simply need to do the paperwork and it should solved in a month. Eddy that was impressive you completely shut the Kankers down.” Double Dee said
" I’m done with them. Well guys i guess we meet at lunch?” Eddy said. The other Eds reluctantly nodded and walked ( Ed more sadly) Before Eddy walked towards his homeroom and arrived just as the bell rang he sat down and saw all three of the Kankers slithering with smirks towards him fortunately none of them where allowed to next to him and forced to sit at least two chairs away from him and each other (Principals orders).
Unfortunately Kevin came in holding hands with Nazz wearing the mask of a loving boyfriend which slipped so he could smirk arrogantly at Eddy as he and Nazz took two of the seats behind filling him with rage. Johnny and Jimmy came in next sitting Sycophanticcally near Kevin with Jimmy in front of him and Johnny behind (probably so he could stare adoringly at his idol without being told off).
Two seats were left fortunately Sarah was in Double Dee’s home room so she wasn’t one of them. The last and nicest of Kevin’s friend came in a tall lanky blue haired farm boy with tanned skin and wearing a fez and brown wool was Rolf and being the only one who wasn’t part of the assault Eddy didn’t mind him taking the seat directly behind him.
Then Rarity walked Eddy saw her and he was shocked this girl was even more beautiful than Nazz and in addition she carried an air elegance and high society with her. Eddy looked away before she sat down right next to him so as not to do something stupid not noticing he began sweating and blushing. The girl didn’t react to his awkwardness till he glanced at her and she saw him
" Um Hello.” She said politely in a classy voice that made Eddy’s knees weak. Eddy was shocked and turned to her attempting a confident smirk.
" Um hey your a new girl huh?” Eddy asked holding out a sweat covered hand
The girl raised a brow " Yes i am. Rarity,pleased to meet you” Rarity said gingerly shaking his hand Eddy inwardly kicking himself for his inability to stop his body’s self soaking.
" Well if Nazzs description was accurate. You are Eddy correct?” She asked. Eddy’s smile left instantly
" Yeah ? What’d she tell you?” Eddy asked nervous at already losing a chance with this goddess.
" Oh nothing bad. She said you enjoy pranks and get rich quick schemes oh and recently you suffered some foul accident that left you stuck at home. Sorry about that” She said sympathetically.
Eddy let out a sigh of relief. Of course Nazz wouldn’t turn her against him.
" Yeah that's me and thanks .” Eddy said glad hes not instantly hated by someone
The twos first conversation was ended by the teachers arrival. Eddy couldn’t focus on this class all the way to bell ringing, he and Rarity stood up and she waved sweetly at him before leaving He waved back and held a lovesick smile through the rest of his classes and his thoughts where on her he didn't remember one thing the teachers said fortunately the first day was usually just intros to subjects even after Rarity left to a different class he couldn't focus . Eventually lunchtime came and Eddy hastily went to the cafeteria feeling way more cheerful then he did this morning.
Sure he just met her but he had a new crush one who wasn’t poisoned by shovel chin and big mouth, maybe he would have some tiny chance and if not he still liked having that chance. Ed and double Dee noticed his smile.
" Good day Eddy?” Double Dee glad to see a genuinely positive expression on his face.
" Yeah I think i just met The new girl of my dreams.” Eddy said
Double Dee raised an eyebrow thinking it was far more likely Eddy simply found a rebound crush. But who knows this could work out. Besides Double Dee for now was just glad Eddy wasn’t as sad.
Rarity’s Pov
Rarity had to admit so far Peach Creek was a pleasant surprise, It was a quaint humble little town, and while it was somewhat more dull Canterlot she did admit her mother was right that not worrying about magical nonsense was somewhat pleasant. She met Nazz’s friends and personally she found them a mixed bag.
Sarah and Jimmy seemed somewhat bratty and reminded her of the foul twerp Diamond Tiara and Sliver Spoon that terrorized her sister but they did seem loyal to their friends and she figured its not like Nazz spends alot of one on one time with them so she can probably put up with them in group settings.
Johnny seemed odd. His love of nature was fine but unlike Fluttershy he took to strange levels like obsessively guarding his “Best Friend” Plank a board with a crudely drawn face and carrying it everywhere. That and he was constantly glaring at Nazz and Rarity assumed it was cause he was clearly interested in her boyfriend. Yes Rarity could tell, she held no judgement but felt he should probably find his own person to be interested and not hover around someone in a relationship.
Rolf was the nicest and was a strange mixture of Applejack and Pinkie Pie in personality he was a friendly boy and despite his more rural leanings he so far was her favorite of Nazzs friends
And that Brings them to Kevin. Rarity quite frankly had no clue why Nazz has any interest in him. Shes dated enough people like him to know the tell tale signs of arrogance and fake kindness. He greatly reminded her of the bratty Trixie if only she genuinely managed to convince everyone to fawn over her. His constant smirks, his habit of possessively putting his arm over Nazzs shoulder and the sense of joy from everyone praise of him made him completely unappealing to her in any facet. Add that with the less wholesome looks at her physique behind Nazzs back and she did not care for him. But she didn’t think he was dangerous so she let it slide and just ignored him. It wasn’t up to her to like Nazzs boyfriend for her.
Anyway Rarity met up with Nazzs group in the morning and they went into their homeroom. She noticed four new faces. Three girls, One with blue hair, one with blond hair and buck teeth and one with curly orange hair. Knowing her cousins stories these were The Kankers, three girls she was explicitly warned away from. Fortunately their was a vacant seat by somewhat short and sweaty boy. Rarity shrugged and took her seat. The boy was sweating profusely clearly nervous. Rarity was used to this from boys (and some girls.). Not to sound arrogant but she was well aware how appealing she was to those interested in women. She could guess this was Eddy a local prankster and wannabe millionaire. She caught him looking at her and decided to try being polite
" Um Hello.” She said politely causing the boys posture to straighten instantly . The boy looked surprised and turned to her with an incredibly nervous smile
" Um hey your a new girl huh?” He said holding out a sweat covered hand
Rarity raised a brow at his awkward behavior " Yes i am. Rarity pleased to meet you” Rarity said gingerly shaking his hand making a note to wash her hand later.
" Well if Nazzs description was accurate. You are Eddy correct?” She asked. The boy looked worried
" Yeah ? What’d she tell you?” Eddy asked in a somewhat scared tone.
" Oh nothing bad. She said you enjoy pranks and get rich quick schemes. oh and recently you suffered some foul accident that left you stuck at home. Sorry about that” She said genuinely sorry for any sort of pain he went through despite just meeting him.
Eddy let out a sigh of relief.
" Yeah that’s me and thanks.” Eddy said sounding somewhat glad to hear a kind statement.
The teacher arrived and she turned her attention to them she and Eddy didn’t talk but he seemed happier then when she sat down. The class ended and the students filtered out. She waved at Eddy and left. After her second class she unfortunately had her first encounter with The Kankers.
" Hey bimbo!’ A crass vaguely feminine voice said Rarity turned and saw the Kankers glaring at her. Being called Bimbo instantly angered her so she returned the glare.
" Excuse me?! That is not how you address someone you don’t know when they’ve done nothing to you!” Rarity said unthreatened.
" Oh you did something alright since your new here well tell ya right now. The Eds are ours and you try to take em and we take you down. Got it?” The one she assumed was Lee asked. They walked away before Rarity could respond and she rolled her eyes. She wasn’t scared of them after two demons The dazzling s and evil Forest monsters these three couldn’t even top juniper in meanness.
She forgot about them by lunch where she sat at Nazzs table With Rolf Johnny Kevin Sarah and Jimmy. She saw Eddy sitting with two boys she assumed where Ed and Double Dee.
" Hmm why does no one else sit there?” Rarity asked.
Nazz was gonna answer but Sarah’s loud voice cut her off. " Because no one wants to sit with fish face and his nimrods she said glaring at them. Rarity shot a disapproving look at the brat but ignored it
" They cant be that bad.” Rarity said.
" They’re not. Sarah’s just a jerk about them.” Nazz said earning a glare.
“Shes got a point babe. Rares trust me you don’t wanna befriend the Eds they cause nothing but trouble since they have been born.” Kevin said with finality.
" Yeah Kevin right your at the cool table anyway Rarity!” Johnny said happily desperate to get approval from Kevin. The group then dissolved into meaningless small talk (much of which involved fawning over Kevin and Nazz) But Rarity looked at the Eds. They didn’t seem bad and Twilight and Sunset would definitely try to befriend them. Rarity decided shed follow their example. She was gonna Befriend the Eds.
The Kankers were in a foul mood as they went home. Their whole lives the sisters were used to being the scariest girls in town and the respect they gained from it, Over the summer Peach creek had been no differenThey terrorized the cul de sac, Made the Ed’s their plaything and put that little princess Nazz down more times than they could count.
Today though Lee saw Nazz’s cousin instantly catch her boyfriends attention and as always it filled her with anger. Her dreamboat was finally primed for the taking, that idiot jock and blondie finally hooked up and Eddy got worked over good by him too, lee of course was planning on finally getting her man by whatever means, she was gonna take advantage of his current state to whittle his distrust of her down until he began to like her, then she was gonna go Kanker style on the jock and he’d see her as his guardian and realize she was his only option. Once Eddy had been taken the other two were sure to fall for may and Marie.
It was all perfectly planned ( if you disregard the fact Eddy would rather be alone forever than date lee) until an obstacle she had not planned for came in. Blondies cousin, Just as prissy but even more gorgeous, long purple hair, model figure and a soft classy voice. So of course the second Eddy started sweating upon seeing her, Lee had to stop it. But another unfortunate difference between the blonde and her cousin was her cousin wasn’t scared of them.
She rolled her eyes and walked away like lee wasn’t worth acknowledging and she spent the rest of the day nonchalantly going through the whole first day as normal. It got worse when she over heard the girl asking about the Ed’s. The Kankers simply never had a bimbo they couldn’t chase off from what was theirs but now here she is.
“ I don’t like that new tramp Lee.” May said
“ Yeah me neither we gotta show her who she’s dealing with before she get anywhere near our Ed’s.” Marie said
“ I know. Don’t worry girls I got a plan.” Lee said
“ Really what?” May asked
“You’ll know when you need to know.” Lee said
“ I need to know now what we’re going to do about the girl. Just say what it is.” May insisted
“May shut up! You’ll know when I decide to tell-“ Lee yelled before being interrupted
“ you don’t have one do you?” Marie said deadpan
“ Shut up! I just need time to think!” Lee said.
The kankers went home agreeing that they would be finding a way to get rid of princess.
KEVINS HOUSE
Kevin and his crew were about to watch a film with varying forms of excitment. Sarah and Rolf enjoyed it, Jimmy covered his eyes Kevin loved it and Nazz and Rarity didn't like it.
Rarity was bored till she heard something outside. A strange loud sound, Rarity being a defender of canterlot for the last few months instantly needed to make sure it was not dangerous. But she needed a reason. The movie ended
“ hey before we start the flick who wants to run to the candy shop? We have no snacks.” Kevin said realizing his snacks were gone.
Everyone groaned at that.
“ I don't wanna deal with her.” Sarah to everyone's agreement. Rarity knew it was the employee Nazz warned about.
“ I'll go be back in a few.” Rarity said before getting the orders from the group and leaving the house. She made a quick stop to see what the noise was se saw the eds in a garage. The one named double dee was covered in suds.
“ Ed. When I say don't touch that doesn't mean pour soda in my beakers!” He said angrily
“ Sorry double Dee I thought it would make your drink taste better.” Ed said good natured.
“ I was making cleaning liquids!” Double Dee said as Ed just smiled.
Eddy chuckled and Rarity couldn’t stifle her own laughter at the antics causing the trio to look at her. Eddys eyes widened
“ Oh hey! Fancy meeting you again!” He said trying to sound slick. “ guys this is the girl I mentioned.” Eddy told the two
“ Hi pretty lady!” Ed said before being smacked
“ Greetings mam” double Dee said
“ Oh hello sorry to interrupt but I heard a noise and was going to ask you if you could tell me what happened. But now I can tell.” Rarity said looking at the still somewhat sudsy double Dee who looked away cheeks red. She realized she could have the chance to become friends with the trio now
“ Well anyway I’m off to the candy shop would you like to come?” Rarity asked surprising the boys
“ Aren’t you supposed to be with Kevin’s friends?” Double Dee asked completely dry
“ Yes why?” rarity asked
“ cause they don’t like us “ Ed said
“ Well I have no problem with you.” Rarity said cheerful
The Ed’s grinned at that and went with her. Rarity couldn’t help but find the trio more interesting than the cool kids. Ed was lovable double Dee was intelligent and Eddy was funny. They told her about a scam that they did
“ And since then Ed’s parents lock the front door at night so Ed can’t sleep eat the cul de sac.” Eddy said the quartet laughing at that
“ You boys certainly don’t have dull summers do you?” Rarity said
“ Eh some are better than others. Like all before Kanker ones.” Eddy said earning fearful looks from Ed and double Dee
Rarity glared “ Ugh those three. No clue why you date them.” She said Eddys eyes widened
“ We don’t! They are stalkers who won’t listen when we say we don’t want them.” Eddy said.’
“ Oh! That makes far more sense. that trio of witches threatened me today. To stay away from you guys.” Rarity said
“ And you ignored them?” Eddy asked impressed as they stopped at the door to the candy store
“ I’ve seen worse.” Rarity said opening the door
“ You!?” She heard. She looked and saw a yellow skinned girl with violet hair.
“ sour!? Why are you here.” Rarity asked the crystal prep student
“ after the friendship games my parents thought I should learn humility so now I work at my uncles store this dump.” She said angered
“ Oh well sorry about that but I’m here to buy some snacks.” Rarity said
“ well then you can just buy some!” She said smiling before glaring “ I’m sure that figure was gonna fade anyway.” She mumbled
“ Hey!” Eddy said
“ What!?” Rarity asked
Sour smiled again “ I said what will you get today?” She lied
Rarity got the snacks and the four left
“ I hate that girl!” Eddy said
“ Trust me this is her most endearing.” Rarity said
“ Hey tramp!” Lees voice said. Ed and double Dee looked scared while Eddy looked annoyed.
The four turned and saw the sisters glaring
“ Oh god you three.” Eddy said
“ Hi muffin! Do t worry I’m here for the tramp!” Lee said
“ I swear to god if that means me!” Rarity said
“ Oh it means you.” Lee and her sisters stalked towards rarity till they were in her face “ And since words don’t work let’s try actions.” Lee held up her fist and was about to attack rarity till something happened.
Rarity on reflex sent her shield at lee sending her flying back. She looked up in fear. silence was around them
“ Witch! She’s a witch! The Ed’s are all yours! Bye!” Lee said before the kankers ran screaming. Rarity slowly turned to see the Ed’s shocked expression
