One day, 17-year-old Skylar Storm, a duelist from Cloudsdale High School is transferred to CHS. During his first day, he would be challenged by someone to a duel. After it, he would meet his soon to be future friends. What will happen when this group of friends are dragged into something they don't know? Let's find out. Duelist Standby, it's time to duel!

Duel monsters, this card game has taken the world by storm. Since its inception, countless champions were crowned, millions of duels were played, countless cards being played and so on. It's easy to see the impact this simple game has, like normal High Schools and Academies has the state-of-the-art duel arenas. Right now, a new story is about to begin in the city of Canterlot.
Canterlot City, downtown apartments, 6:30 A.M.
'BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BE-'
A small hand would silence the alarm clock as a small girl with pink hair and in cat pajamas would look over at the bed.
"Skylar, wake up you're going to be late for your first day." Said the girl, then from the bed, a body would rise from the blankets, revealing a teen with very messy brown hair. This is Skylar Storm.
"Morning Lillie, how's my little sis?" Skylar said with his eyes open a little, though Lillie Storm, Skylar's little sister, wasn't about to have this as she had a stern face on her.
"Maybe if you weren't staying up past your bedtime editing your deck, then maybe I would've been in a better mood." She spoke, causing the teen to slump his head down.
"Well sorry, I can't help it. You know how I am when I edit decks." He explained. She would sigh as she would head out of his room.
"Breakfast is ready, better get it before it gets cold." She would say before walking out of his room. Skylar would sigh before looking over at his desk, that had a deck on it. He would get up before walking over and picking the deck up. He would smile at it before looking at a box that had a picture on it.
"Wish me luck on my first day, mom and dad." He would say before placing the deck down and walking out of his room.
7:30 A.M.
After eating his breakfast, taking a shower and getting ready, he would look at himself at a mirror. He had his hair sideways to have them not in his eyes, he would be wearing a white shirt with an image of a monster on it. Over it, he would be wearing a blazer that had the sleeves up towards his elbows. And a pair of blue jeans and black and white shoes to round it up. On his jeans, a deck box would be present as he would place his deck in it.
"Looking good Skylar." He said to himself before grabbing a pair of keys, a helmet and his backpack before heading his way out the door, with his sister following suite. Skylar would lock the door of their door before looking at his sister.
"You got the other key?" He would question her, she would answer by revealing the key. He would smile before giving his sister a hug.
"I'll see you around sis. Stay safe." he would say to her before kissing her on the forehead and heading down to the garage, where a blue bike would be present. Grabbing a key and putting his helmet on, he would get on the bike before starting it up.
"Canterlot High School, here I come." He would say before revving his bike up and zooming out of the garage and onto the open streets.
Canterlot High School, 7:50 A.M.
Skylar would arrive at the high school, parking his bike in the parking lot before taking the key out and heading inside the school. While in the school, he would see multiple kids talking to each other, copying off notes, and playing duel monsters. Then, Skylar would get a surprise from behind.
"Good morning, I take it your Skylar?" Said a voice, Skylar would turn around to see a tall woman with long, flowing, colorful hair that almost reached to the ground.
"Yes, I take it your principal Celestia?" Skylar asked, with the women nodding to his question. She seems to be happy for a new student to transfer to her school.
"Indeed I am, please come to my office." She said before walking in her office with Skylar following her inside.
In the office, Celestia would grab a folder before looking over it. She would then look at him as she would place the folder down onto her table.
"Mr. Storm, I'm always happy to have new students here at CHS. But, to have a student from another high school whose dueling record is astonishing, it really catches my intention. But tell me, why did you want to transfer too here? I've heard Cloudsdail High was good." She would question with Skylar rubbing the back of his head. He would admit it was a fun school with a ton of great people. But, his reason of leaving was something else as he would state.
"Well, my dad has always said that it's always great explore new avenues when your still young." The principal would nod at her new student's response, before she would almost shed a tear. But, she quickly got a hold of herself.
"Well Mr. Storm, I'm sure you'll love it here at CHS. While it may not offer as much as Cloudsdale has currently, I can assure you that you'll love it here." She says before handing him his scheduled which he took. Seems as if he didn't catch that she was about to shed a tear.
"Thank you for your time. Remember, my door is always open." She added with Skylar nodding before leaving her office. Once he left, Celestia would look back at the folder before she would pick it.
"A brother and a sister, growing up without the aid of their parents. How sad." She would say before placing folder back where she got it. She would then look at a picture on her desk, which had herself, her sister, a woman and a man. She would walk over to it before picking the picture up.
"Why and how did you two vanish from us? Ryker, Evry..." She said in a sad tone as a single shed of tear would fall from her cheek.
CHS, Cafeteria, 12:00 P.M.
After doing his first 2 classes, Skylar would be in the cafeteria with a plate full of food. He would be walking around for somewhere to sit, which didn't take long since there was an empty table ahead of him. He would sit there was prepared to eat his lunch. Until....
"Who dares sit at the table of the great and powerful Trixie!?" Shouted a voice, Skylar would turn around to see a girl with white hair, staring down at him.
"Uhhh, may I help you?" He would question the girl, with her being taken aback at him before shouting.
"What!? Who are you and why haven't you heard of the great and powerful Trixie!" She shouted at him, with his hair flapping by her voice. All the while covering his ears. "Ouch! are you trying to make me go deaf or something?!" He shouted back while massaging his ears. They then had short staring contest before Skylar would say.
"Listen great and powerful deaf maker, if you want me to move, I'll move. Simple as that." Skylar then grabs his stuff and walked away, with Trixie huffing before sitting at her seat. He then looked at back at her before he looked away again before saying.
"Man, what's her problem? it's a lunch seat, everyone seats at them." He then see an empty table up ahead. He would hurry there before sitting down at it. After finishing his lunch, he would pull out his deck from his deck box before fanning it. He would look over the cards he has placed into this deck before nodding and placing them back into the box. Just then the bell rang, meaning lunch was over. Skylar would grab his backpack before heading out of the cafeteria. As he was walking in the halls, something would catch his eye. He would walk to the item that caught his eye.
"CHS Duelist Ranking? Cool" He would look over the rankings, seeing that someone named Sunset Shimmer was the top duelist of the school as she would be followed by 4 other students. Applejack in 2nd, Rainbow Dash in 3rd, Pinkie Pie in 4th, and in 5th was the person he just meet, with that familiar voice ring in his ears.
"Ha! I'm in the top 5! I'll show Sunset whose more worthy of being the top duelist here!" Skylar would look over to see Trixie next to him. Then, he would smile before saying.
"Top 5 huh? Not bad. Sorry about not introducing myself earlier. I'm Skylar Storm." He would extend his hand to her. While hesitant, she would shake his hand. Then, at the corner of her eye, she the sees his deck box on his jeans.
"What's this, the great and powerful Trixie has spotted a deck. You must be a duelist then." Skylar looked at his deck box before grabbing it.
"Yep, I so happened to be Rank 1 back at Cloudsdail High before transferring here." He explained with a smile on his face, with Trixie having her jaw hang open.
"You? The top duelist from another school? Now you've gotten Trixie's attention. We have a duel arena here, if your as tough as you say you are." Skylar looked up at Trixie, he was now grinning.
"If I don't know better, I think your challenging me to a duel. Very well, I accept your challenge." Trixie smirked before turning and walking away.
"The Gym, after school, see you then." Skylar then smiled, his first day here and he got challenged to a duel. 'This will be fun' He thought.
After school, Gym, 3:30 PM
It was finally the end of the school day, almost every student was heading back home to relax or do homework. Keyword being almost, as some of the students stayed behind to watch the upcoming duel. Every student was making predictions on who was going to win, 5th ranked duelist of CHS Trixie, or Newcomer but rumored top student of Cloudsdail High Skylar Storm? Just then, both duelist would enter the gym. Upon seeing what was infront of him, Skylar was awestruck by the presence of the arena. The arena in question was like how the Duelist Kingdom arenas in Pegasus's Castle looked like.
"Amazed? Well, I was amazed as well back when I started here. But enough talk, let's get ready." Trixie said as she grabbed her deck from her deck box before placing it down on the table with Skylar doing the same thing. Then, Principal Celestia entered the gym, standing in the middle of the arena.
"For this duel, I'll be the judge for today. Now, Duelist Standby" she started as Trixie and Skylar drew their starting hands.
"Get set, and...." She continued as Trixie and Skylar would shout out..
Last time, on Yu-Gi-Oh! 12 Swords of Genisis. Skylar Storm has just entered his new school life at Canterlot High. After meeting Principal Celestia and finishing his 2 classes, he would meet Trixie during lunch. After almost becoming deaf, he would meet her again, this time in the halls. Trixie, who now knows that Skylar duels and was the top student at Cloudsdale, challenged him to a duel, which accepted. Who's going to be victorious? That duel will begin, now.
"Get set, and...." She continued as Trixie and Skylar would shout out.

"The great and powerful Trixie will take the first move." She said before she would look at her hand. Which caused her eyes to widen. 'Gah! my hand is a disaster!' She thought, she looked back to her hand to see if there is anything to do. With a sigh, she picked 2 cards from her hand. "The great and powerful Trixie sets 2 cards facedown and ends there." She said as 2 glowing spots appeared to represent her set cards. Skylar would tilt his head, It was odd that she just set back row and pass the turn.
Trixie's Hand:3
'Maybe she had a bad hand. But those face downs could be something bad if I don't approach this safely. He thought before grabbing the top of his deck. "It's my turn, I draw!" He declared as he drew his card before adding it to his hand.
Turn 2
Upon looking at the cards in hand, he wasn't mad but a bit disappointed with his current hand. 'Guess I didn't get a good hand either. But, unlike her, I have a monster to play.' He thought as he grabbed a card from his hand. "Okay Trixie, I summon Archlight Zantetsu Blade to the field!" He declared as he placed the card onto his board. Then a light would shine on the middle zone as a white and blue machine would appear with a sword in hand and a metal robe on one side of it. Trixie looked at her screen that was showing the summoned monster. The monster was an LV4 Light Machine with 1700 ATK,1900 DEF, and an effect. The students then started to speak amongst themselves.
"Archlight? Never heard of them." Said one of the students. "Same here, wonder what kind of effect it has." Said another student. Skyler then looked back at his hand as he grabbed a card. "Next, I'll change the setting by activating my Field Spell, I welcome you, Trixie, to Archlight World, White Castle!" He said before placing the card onto the Field Spell space on his board. Suddenly, a white castle sprouted up from the ground behind Skyler before overshadowing Trixie.
Skylar's Hand:4
"Trixie is interested, please continue." She said with Skylar smirking as his monster was glowing a white aura. Skylar then grabbed 2 cards from his hand before placing them facedown with 2 glowing spots appearing where they are set. "I set 2 cards facedown, and it's time to battle! Zantetsu Blade attack Trixie directly!" He ordered as the robotic swordsmen charged its blade with electricity before launching a sword slash at Trixie, nailing the first damage of the duel.

But Trixie would smirk as she flips one of her face downs over. "When I take damage I can activate this trap, Damage Surplus!" She declared as the card had a person drawing 2 cards after being struck by a metal fist. "With this, I can draw 2 cards." She said as she drew the 2 cards from her deck. As she then smiled at her newly drawn cards.
Trixie's Hand:5
"That smile can mean anything. Let's hope my defenses are still in tip-top shape." He said to himself before looking down at his face downs and back at Trixie. "Turn end, your move Trixie." He spoke. While he does have the advantage in field presence and life point total, that smile she did when she drew her 2 new cards means something is coming and with her turn looming over, Skylar needs to keep his guard up, or it will be bad news for him.
Turn 3
"Then it's my turn, hope you're ready." She said as she drew her 6th card. "First things first, I'll summon out my Magician's Rod to the field." She declared as she placed the card onto her board with the ghost magician appearing on the field with the rod of the Dark Magician in hand. While its ATK of 1600 is low to Zantetsu's 1700 ATK, this wasn't her aim. "When my magician is normal summoned, I can add a card that specifically lists 'Dark Magician' from my deck to the hand. I'll add Illusion Magic to the hand." She said as she added the card to her hand. "So, you're running a Dark Magician deck. Inspired by someone?" Skylar commented, Trixie would raise her brow.
"Why say something like that?" She questioned, with Skylar scratching the back of his head. "Back at my school, everyone was playing a deck that they were inspired by. Decks that the Duelists of Legend played. So, were you inspired by Yugi Muto?" He answered, Trixie would look at her hand before smiling a little. Then, she would grab her other facedown before flipping it up, revealing the card. "Let's hope this answers your question. I activate the trap card Eternal Soul! With this, I can either special summon a Dark Magician from my hand or graveyard or add Dark Magic Attack or Thousand Knives from the deck to my hand. I chose the first effect!" She declared as she grabbed a card from her hand. Skylar knew what was coming out.
"Magician of legend appear upon this field once again and blast your foes away with your dark magic! Appear, Dark Magician!" She shouted as she slammed the card onto her board. Then, a hole would open up as the legendary Dark Magician appeared, complete in his purple attire and staff. The students then started to cheer. "Alright, Trixie got Dark Magician out!" Shouted one of the students. Skylar smiled, seeing that she answered his question with this move. Trixie then grabbed 2 more cards before placing them down.
"I set 2 cards facedown. Time for some payback, Dark Magician attack Zantetsu Blade with Dark Magic Attack." She declared as the Magician fired off the blast of dark magic towards the machine. But Skylar then smirked as the mantle on Zantetsu unfold, taking the form of a shield as the machine took a defensive stance.
"Zantetsu Blade's effect activates! Since he is getting attacked, by switching him to defense mode, I can put a stop to the attack!" He said with the attack hitting its mark. But the machine would be still standing. Trixie cursed under her breath, with that machine still on the field, she needed to rethink her plan. But she can't do anything else besides ending her turn. "Not bad, I end my turn." She declared, but Skylar had other plans as he flipped over one of his facedown cards with a picture of a machine flying towards a battlefield where another machine is battling other machines.
"Before you end your turn, I activate my trap, Archlight Ties! Since you control more monsters than me, I can special summon any Lv4 or lower 'Archlight' monsters from my deck to the field until we have the same number of monsters. Since you have 2 monsters compared to my 1, I special summon 1 monster, that being Archlight General Shigure!" He declared as something would fly out of the card. That something was a white machine with a pointy head and a huge blade. The machine would swing the blade before resting it on its shoulder. She checked her screen as it showed the new monster was an Lv4 Light Machine with 2000 on ATK and DEF and an effect. The students would be awestruck, from negating the attack to special summoning a monster before his turn came up was a surprise. Trixie was also awestruck but regain her composure as her turn finally ended.
Trixie's hand:3
"Then it's my turn, draw!" Skylar declared as he drew his card before looking at it. Once he did, he cracked a smile upon seeing the card 'Hey old friend, I would love to summon you out now but I'm not ready for you yet. Maybe next turn I'll Summon you.' He thought to himself as he placed the drawn card in his hand.
Turn 4
He then grabbed another card from his hand. "First off, I play the Extra Draw spell card!" He declared as the card showed a dragon with 2 cards flying around it. "With it, I draw 1 card, afterward I flip the top card of my deck over, and if it so happens to be an 'Archlight' Light or Fire Type monster, I can add it to my hand." He said drawing his card before flipping the top card over, revealing a grey dragon with a horn and 2 tusks. "Alright! Since Archlight Terra Rockceratops is a Fire Type, I add it to my hand." He said, adding the card to his hand. The students were silent as they were still speechless from just a moment ago. Celestia was moderating the duel as the judge for today. But can't help but constantly look over to Skylar.
'It's now the 4th turn of the duel. Skylar has the lead with LP and is tied with Trixie in the Monster category. Yet, the way he used Zantetsu's effect and used Ties at the end of Trixie's turn, and now switching from defense to offense, it's like Evry and Ryker used to duel back then. Evry focuses on defense while Ryker handled offense.' She thought to herself as she looked back at the duel.
"Next, I summon the added Terra Rockceratops to the field!" He declared as the gray dragon appeared onto his field. This monster was an Lv4 Fire Dragon monster with 1900 ATK, 1300 DEF, and an effect. Skylar then turned Zantetsu upwards, meaning he was gearing up for an attack.
"I switch Zantetsu Blade back into Attack Mode. Onto the Battle Phase! General Shigure attacks Magician's Rod!" Skylar declared as the machine ignited its thrusters before taking off, charging towards the Magician. But Trixie had other plans as her Magician vanished as soon as Shigure reached it.
"Sorry for the disappearing act I did, but I don't want to lose any more Life Points. Just before your attack hit, I activated this Trap, Magician's Arcane! What this Trap does is simple, by tributing a Spellcaster Monster I control: I can, from my deck, add a Field Spell to the Hand." She said as she looked through her deck before picking up a card and revealing it to Skylar. "I'll add this, the Field Spell, Library of The Gifted." She said as she placed the card into her hand. Now Skylar had to change his plans. But with the Dark Magician on her field, he can't really do much besides what he is going to do.
"I'll set one card facedown and end my turn." He spoke setting a card facedown. While the students were watching the duel unfold, a girl with vibrant red and yellow hair and in a jacket was also watching the duel unfold, seemingly taking a interest towards Skylar.
Skylar's Hand:2
"Sorry for throwing a wrench in your plans. Oh wait, Trixie's not sorry." She laughed a little before drawing her card and ready to start her duel. Seeing the card she drew, her smile was now present. Something was coming. "With that out of way, It's time to turn up the heat." She spoke. On the other side of the duel arena, another girl was watching the duel. But this one had rainbow hair and a vest on. Though she maybe watching the duel, she was mostly looking at the vibrant haired girl.
'Scouting out her next victim, typical Sunset. Though I don't see anything in that guy that could be interesting.' Thought the rainbow haired teen.
Turn:5
Trixie's Hand:5
"You know Skylar, Trixie would love to activate the field spell I added on your turn. But I'm not going to, not yet anyway." Trixie said, causing Skylar to do a double take. Then what was the point of adding the field spell if she's not going to activate it? Unless she has something in store.' Skylar thought. His suspicions were correct as Trixie raised a card in the air, being Polymerization.
"I now use Polymerization! With it, Trixie fuses the Dark Magician on the field with the Dark Magician Girl in the hand!" She declared as the fusion vortex appeared with both Magicians jumping into it, beginning to fuse. Skylar's eyes widen, if those are the fusion materials, then that means...
"Alright everyone, it's time to begin the main show with our stars, The Dark Magicians!" She declared as Master and Student stood next to each other with the Magic Cylinders out. Skylar was stunned, seeing this Fusion Monster in front of his eyes. Trixie only smirked before saying to Skylar.
"I do hope your ready Skylar, because I'm about to begin my first act!" She soon started laughing as her Fusion stared down at Skylar and his Monsters, with said Monsters ready to fight.
