Chapter 1: Crash Landing;
Everything silent as there was no sound or sight of anything until Cortana's voice said, "Chief? Can you hear me?"
Spartan II John-117 Master Chief opened his eyes and looked around to see that he was floating in the vacuum of space on board the UNSC Frigate Forward Unto Dawn. Chief he switched his helmet's lights on just a Cortana sighed relief that he was still alive saying, "'sigh' I thought I'd lost you too."
Chief pushed himself forward heading towards one of the narrow hallways of the Dawn with the light from his helmet lighting the way. As the olive green spartan II floated down the hallway he saw an Assault Rifle floating around with nothing to hold it down before grabbing it saying, "What happened?"
"I'm not sure. When Halo fired, it shook itself to pieces; did a number on the Ark. The portal couldn't sustain itself; we made it through just as it collapsed." Cortana replied as Chief floated down the hall and came to complete stop as they reach end of the ship. The Chief soon found out that the back part of the Dawn which they were on was still intact, but the rest of the ship which was the front was gone only leaving a view of deep space in front of them before Cortana finished saying, "Well, some of us made it."
Deciding that he had seen enough of the majestic view of space Chief left the gapping hole that one led to the front of the ship. He twisted around to give him some motion so he could get around the ship. They soon came arrived at the Dawn's cryogenic hibernation room with a holographic data pad for Cortana was waiting for them. As Chief floated for the pad Cortana said to him, "But you did it, Truth, and the Covenant, the Flood. It's finished."
Once he got to the pad Chief pulled out Cortana's crystal data chip out of the back of his mark IV helmet and plugged it into the projector displaying her true form and agreed with his partner before turning off his helmet's lights, "It's finished."
Then Chief floated over to a weapons rack near one of the cryo tubes and put the assault rifle on it and secured the weapon to it and locked in position just in case he needed it when he wakes up again. Just Cortana said to him in a solemnly voice as Chief floated for the open cryotube, "I'll drop a beacon, but it'll be awhile before anybody finds us, years even."
Once Chief was inside the tube the top began to close just as Cortana said to him, "I'll miss you."
Chief looked at Cortana and said to her in a sincere voice, "Wake me when you need me."
Cortana looked up at her Spartan partner with surprise before she gave him a bow as Chief went into deep cryo hibernation that would last for quite a long time. She soon stood there watching over her partner knowing she'll see him again. But she didn't know when that is however, so now she just had to wait.
Location: Unknown in deep uncharted space; 3 years later;
Everything was silent around the broken ship without a sound to be heard it. As the remains of the Dawn floated around drifting in deep space as it still had scars from its teleportation from the Ark during the final battle of the Human Covenant War. Although the ship looked vacant on the outside it did still had its two passengers still on board.
Inside the ship a SOS message was echoing through out the ship being said by Cortana's voice repeated the message over and over again, "Mayday mayday mayday, this is UNSC FFG-201 Forward Unto Dawn, requesting immediate EVAC, survivors aboard. Prioritization code Victor 05-3-Sierra 117."
The message kept playing in a loop hoping a UNSC ship would find it, however things were about to change when the ship began to rumble and shake. In another part of the ship was the cryo room where Chief and Cortana were at presently as a glowing blue light sphere was in the middle of the high tech pedestal. There was then a flash of light and the sphere became Cortana as she looked around in worry and knew something was wrong. She pulled up a holographic screen to see what was going on as the rumbling and shaking started to get worse. To her surprise the Dawn's damaged systems that were still intact had indicated that it had entered an atmosphere of a habitable planet similar to Earth. The bad news well the damaged frigate was breaking apart and was about to crash. It was time to get out of here pronto.
Knowing they had to get off the Dawn now Cortana quickly pulled up another screen which had a picture of Chief occupying one of the tubes. She pressed activate and activated the tube as the decryoization process began right away. She turned towards the tube that was activated and said in worried tone cause soon there wouldn't be much of the Dawn soon, "Come on Chief! Wake up! I need you!"
The tube cleared up and revealed Master Chief who was coming out of cryo sleep. I didn't take long for Chief to wake up as he heard the sound of pieces of the ship breaking off. The Spartan II then said to his Ai partner as he can guess what's happening, "Cortana what's happening?"
Cortana replied back to Chief as the Spartan II opened up the cryo tube by using the manual release lever inside the tube and grabbed the Assault Rifle he had picked up before going into cryo sleep from the weapons rack saying, "Well the Dawn seems to be caught in an atmosphere of a unknown planet and also its breaking apart! Not to mention we're about to crash! We need to get off the ship now Chief!!"
Chief floated over to the data pad and pulled out Cortana's crystal data chip from it and put it back into his helmet. Once he did that he activated his armor's zero gravity boosters and flew out of the room to find an escape pod. The Spartan dodged broken parts of the Dawn as it fell into the planet's atmosphere even more as parts broke off and were sent scattered across the area above it. As they floated around trying to find a way of the burning ship Cortana then exclaimed to Chief, "Chief! Over there on your right!"
Chief looked to his right and to his surprise and luck was a fully intact ODST drop pod. It was their ticket off the ship before it crashes. Soon Chief flew for the pod and got inside along with closed the hatch to it just in time for the part of the Dawn they were in broke off sending the pod flying across the sky spinning around before Cortana managed to activate the pod's systems and guide it towards the surface as the two watched the Dawn burn as it fell through the atmosphere on its doomed crash course.
Cortana then said to Chief as the pod's breaking systems came online slowing it down, but not enough as the bottom of it began to heat up, "Chief! Brace for a hard landing!"
Chief had to agree as he put his armor in armor-lock mode to brace himself for the crash landing. It was just another day for the Spartan II and pretty soon the day was about to take a turn towards the weird. Also the duo would find out what lives on the planet that they just arrived on too. That is if they survive the landing first.
Location: Canterlot that capital of Equestria; Years after the defeat of the Legion of Doom;
It was peaceful night in the sprawling metropolitan city of Canterlot which was now a major 21st Century city with many modern everyday things like cars, trucks, trains, buses, airplanes, jets, and many others. Cantalot Castle still had its medieval appearance, but some recent additions and modifications done in past years. In one part of a castle a 16 year old turquoise blue alicorn stallion named Quazelight Sparkle the oldest son of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Flash Sentry was looking through his telescope on one of the castle's many balconies. Beside him was a male baby dragon with wings that had orange scales and green spines, underbelly, and eyes and his name was Spirk the son of Smolder and Spike who happened to be Quaze's dragon cousin.
As Spirk looked at Quaze and said to him with a tired and worn out voice, "Come on Quaze. Let's go to bed its 10:20 P.M. and I'm getting tired."
Quaze looked back at the orange dragon said to him rolling his eyes, "Come on Spirk your like my own assistant. Besides your dad is my mom's assistant and he doesn't complain about staying up too late."
Spirk yawned again and said to the turquoise blue alicorn stallion that he didn't believe that, "Besides you got school tomorrow. The last we need is you staying wake all night looking at the stars. Nothing ever happens around here ever since your mom and her friends put the Legion of Doom out of commission years ago before we were even born."
The turquoise blue alicorn stallion shook his head sighing as Spirk began to rant again. However, Spirk did have a point that Quaze agreed on. Ever since the Legion of Doom's defeat and his mom assuming the throne as leader of Equestria there hasn't been any major threats to the world even though all the nations had modern militaries and weapons now. Everything had just become too peaceful and everyone knows that would leave everyone open to a surprise attack by an unknown force.
That was about to change. Quaze looked back into his telescope when he noticed a star that he never recognized appear out of no where on the far left. This caught the alicorn's attention and wondered if it could be a new star. But his curiosity turned into shock as the star got closer and closer not to mention bigger each moment too and it was on fire too. Then Quaze said to Spirk in a nervous voice, "Uh Spirk? There's something coming!'
Spirk then exclaimed in horror as he pointed at the huge flaming object as streaked across the sky, "Never mind that Quaze! Look what's going on!"
Quaze backed away from his telescope and saw the flaming object followed by smaller meteors like it streak across the sky landing below the mountain and the city of Ponyville just below Canterlot. The bigger one rapidly streaked by heading right heading for the ground below. The object disappeared into the distance before everyone heard a massive crash from the valley below in the direction of the Everfree Forest. The shockwave very powerful too and it rocked everything from the amount of force it packed. Seconds later everything stopped and Quaze and Spirk looked in the direction the massive object crashed in.
The alicorn and dragon looked at each other in shock and disbelief before Quaze said to his dragon cousin, "You just had to open your big mouth Spirk."
Spirk nodded and said to his turquoise blue alicorn cousin gawking at the sight of black smoke of the crash site, "Should we go and get our parents?"
Quaze nodded before saying still in shock, "Yeah. Like now!"
Then the two turned around and darted inside and exclaimed at the same time, "MOM/DAD!"
However, what two didn't see was another smaller streak that rushed by and crashed outside the outskirts of the city that haven't touched by modern civilization. They didn't know yet, but the object that just crashed was actually the Forward Unto Dawn and pieces of it were scattered across then entire area from Ponyville to Canterlot even as far as Manehatten. And the last streak was a certain drop pod containing a certain Spartan II and Ai companion.
