Episode 1: The Adventure Begins
Welcome to the world of Pokémon.
An amazing land of mystery, adventure and wonder, where amazing creatures named Pokémon exist. Running across the land, swimming below the waves, flying high above the clouds, Pokémon exist in plentiful supply. In this world, humans and Pokémon exist in perfect harmony with one another. Living, playing, working or training, the two are always together.
This is the Equestria Region or for short, the Equus Region, home to many amazing Pokémon and trainers can be found with stories to tell. And now, we will follow the adventures of one such trainer and her partner, as they begin their quest to be the very best, like no one ever was.
This house is home to the hero of this story, and right now she is getting ready to start her journey. Or she’s still fast asleep. Downstairs are her parents getting their breakfast ready, these where Nightlight and Twilight Velvet.
“Is she still asleep?” Nightlight commented.
“Starly!” Velvet called out, and little starling Pokémon came flying in upon being called, “could you go wake up Twilight please.” Starly flew off to Velvet’s daughter’s room.
The was slightly creaked open, Starly wondered in and flew onto Twilight’s pillow. “Star-Starly-Star,” it chirmed, trying to wake up the girl.
“Five more minutes,” Twilight groaned in her sleep. Starly trying again, this time shaking her with its wings, the result was the same. Starly then had and idea, its peck started to glow and grew sharper, then using the move, peck, successfully woke Twilight up.
Twilight yelped in pain and fell out of bed. She stood up and scowled at Starly, “What was that for?!” she yelled, Starly pointed to her cloak with a wing, with a frown on its face. Twilight looked at it and then started to panic, she quickly through on her clothes and bolted downstairs.
“Good morning honey,” Twilight Velvet greeted her daughter.
“20 seconds,” Nightlight remarked, “you’re getting faster with these late wake ups.”
“Not fun dad,” Twilight frowned, “is my breakfast ready?”
“Of course dear,” Velvet said, Twilight sat down next to her mother and ate her breakfast of pancakes, after that, Velvet brushed her daughters hair and Twilight finished getting ready to leave for her journey.
“I’ll walk with you to Professor Celestia’s laboratory,” Velvet said, “As I work there myself.”
“Thanks mom,” Twilight said. The two left the house, after Nightlight said goodbye to his daughter and kissed his wife. As Twilight walked through the streets of Canterlot City, she looked around at the people and Pokémon playing and working together. She then thought of what her first Pokémon could be.
They soon arrived at the front entrance to the lab. They went inside to a lobby where two other girls were waiting. Twilight Velvet told Twilight to wait here her kissed her daughter’s cheek and went into the next room for work.
Twilight took a seat next to one of the girls, the girl she sat next to had cyan eyes and red and yellow hair. “Hi, I’m Twilight,” she said, with her hand out, wanting to make a good impression.
“I’m Sunset,” the girl replied, “Nice to meet you.”
“Hey, I’m Twilight,” she said to the other girl who had silver hair and purple eyes. The other girl didn’t reply but just stared at Twilight before looking away. “Was it something I said,” Twilight asked herself.
“Don’t worry, Trixie is always like that,” Sunset told her, “she says that she just wants to be the strongest Trainer ever and beat the champion.”
Just then a tall woman with long pastel coloured hair, came out and to the girls. “Ah, you three must be here for your first Pokémon,” she said, the three girls stood up as she came closer and stopping in front of them. “I’m Professor Celestia,” she said before noticing Twilight.
“Hey Aunt Tia,” Twilight said, before Celestia wrapped her in an embrace.
“Oh, my little Twily!” Professor Celestia squealed like a little child.
“Aunt Tia?” Sunset asked, surprised and a little shocked.
“we’re not really related, I just looked after her when she was tiny,” Celestia replied, “then she started to call me auntie.”
Sunset and Trixie looked at Twilight, who was getting crushed by Celestia’s hug, “It grew on me,” was all she could say, and not because Celestia was cutting off her air supplies.
“Well if you girls follow me, we can get you your first Pokémon,” Celestia let go of Twilight and led the three girls into her main office/lab. Three Pokéballs sat on her deck, Celestia picked them up and tossed them, sending the Pokémon out.
“Here are the starter Pokémon for this week,” she said, “first when have Treecko, a grass type, Charmander, a fire type, and Oshawott, a water type.”
“Ooh,” Sunset said, “I choose Charmander,” she reached out to Charmander, and he hopped into her arms. Sunset thought he was very warm.
“Oshawott, looks strong,” Trixie said, “I choose him.” She picked up Oshawott and call him back to his Pokéball. And then walked out the room without so much as a thank you or goodbye.
Everyone watch Trixie leave, then Twilight turned back to Treecko, and Treecko looked at her. Twilight didn’t know why but she felt something within Treecko. And Treecko felt the same about Twilight. Treecko then jumped onto Twilight’s arm and climbed until he sat on her shoulder. “I guess I choose you,” she said happily, as Treecko nuzzled the side of her head.
“Aren’t you just a little ray of sunshine,” Sunset said petting Charmander’s head.
“You’re quiet prickly and spiky aren’t you,” Twilight said, as Treecko continued to nuzzle her head.
“Looks like they really like you,” Celestia said, just as Trixie came back in. she had forgotten she needed Pokéballs, a badge case and a Pokédex.
“Now here are your Pokéballs, Badge Cases and Pokédex,” Celestia said giving them each ten balls and one Pokédex.
Twilight and Sunset thanked her, Twilight gave Celestia a hug and the two when out the office, but Trixie called out Twilight’s name.
“Twilight, have a battle with me now,” she demanded.
“Oh,” Twilight replied, unsure.
“That sounds like a great idea,” Celestia said, “I’ll be the referee.”
Twilight gulped but she saw how confident Treecko was, “Ok Trixie I accept.”
Luckily, there was a battlefield in the main building, where new trainers could battle to test their starter Pokémon. Twilight stood of the left side while Trixie stood on the right. “Ready to go Treecko?” Twilight said to her partner.
“Tree-Treecko,” the Pokémon replied as he jumped off her shoulder.
“Oshawott, battle time,” Trixie said as she threw the Pokéball and Oshawott came out ready to fight.
“Alright,” Professor Celestia announced, “Battle begin!”
“Oshawott, water gun,” Trixie commanded, Oshawott fire a stream of water for his mouth.
“Treecko, dodge it, then use pound,” Twilight called out, Treecko dodged to water gun then ran forward and was about to pound Oshawott with his tail.
“Block it,” Trixie ordered, Oshawott used his shell on Treecko’s pound. “now, water gun,” Trixie told Oshawott. Her Pokémon fired a water gun again, right in Treecko’s face. Treecko stumbled back as Oshawott charged forward. “Tackle now!” Trixie ordered, and charged right into Treecko’s chest.
Treecko went flying and hit the ground hard, “Treecko! Are you ok?” Twilight asked in concern, Treecko stood up slowly.
“You can do it Treecko!” Sunset called out from the side-lines, her Charmander cheering them too.
“Ok, Treecko, use Absorb,” Twilight called out, Treecko ran forward and latched onto Oshawott and started to absorb some of Oshawott’s health.
“That’s super effective,” Sunset said, with a smile. Charmander started to cheer louder.
“Oshawott, throw Treecko off, then use tackle,” Trixie ordered, Oshawott grabbed a hold on Treecko, then threw him into the air. Treecko could only watch as Oshawott jumped and headbutt Treecko in the chest. Treecko fell to the ground, and Oshawott landed on his feet, but Treecko landed on his back, and was out.
“Treecko is unable to battle, Oshawott is the winner,” Professor Celestia announced, “So the victory go to Trixie.”
Twilight ran forward and picked Treecko up, “are you ok, Treecko?” she sounded very concerned.
“Treecko-Tree,” Treecko said looking up at her, he felt pretty weak.
“What a waste of my time,” Trixie said, she called Oshawott back and turned around to leave, “I should of battled Charmander, At least the battle would last longer.” She pushed the door open and left.
Twilight stood up and looked down at Treecko in her arms. Twilight, Sunset and Celestia went to the Canterlot Pokémon Centre, where a woman named Nurse Joy worked.
“Welcome to the Pokémon Centre,” Nurse Joy greeted them.
“My Treecko was badly hurt,” Twilight told her, “could you help him?”
“Of course I can,” Nurse Joy said, “Florges!” Upon being called, the Garden Pokémon Florges took Treecko to be healed. “Don’t worry, Treecko with be alright.”
“Thank you Nurse Joy,” Celestia said as Twilight when to sit down. She felt down casted. Sunset went to cheer her up.
“Hey, cheer up Twi,” Sunset said, “Trixie’s always been like that, she thinks those that she comes across lower than her and calls them weak when she beats them.”
“That’s doesn’t help,” Twilight said.
“She told me that her goal was to be the strongest trainer in the Equestria Region, by taking on the Champion and becoming Champion herself,” Sunset continued, “but I have a feeling that you could beat her and teach her what in really means to be a trainer. You showed love and compassion to Treecko, Trixie didn’t even say well done to Oshawott.”
“You mean it?” Twilight asked.
“Yeah I do,” Sunset replied confidently, “If you want, I can come with you on your journey, so you don’t get lonely.”
“I would like that, thank you Sunset,” Twilight thanked her.
Soon Florges came back with Treecko on a stretcher, “Good news, Miss Sparkle, Treecko is feeling much better,” Nurse Joy said, as Treecko jumped from the stretcher and onto Twilight’s shoulder.
“Say Twilight do you know where your going to go for your first gym badge?” Professor Celestia asked.
“I don’t know, where’s the closest gym?” Twilight said, as Sunset pulled out a map.
“There’s a gym down in Ponyville Town,” Nurse Joy said.
“Then I guess we’ll go there,” Twilight said, “Ready to go, Treecko?”
“Treecko,” he replied.
“Ready Charmander?” Sunset said to her partner.
“Char-Char,” he replied.
The once the two girls where packed up and ready to go, they left the Pokémon Centre while waving goodbye to Professor Celestia and Nurse Joy. “Good luck on your journeys!” Celestia called out to them.
“Thanks Professor Celestia,” Sunset called back.
“Yeah thank you Aunt Tia,” Twilight called back.
And so Twilight has made a new friend in Sunset and a rival in Trixie, she had also gotten her first Pokémon Treecko. What with happen to are heroes? The answer with come as the Journey continues.
