Twilight Sparkle stood proud of herself as she finally hatched the dragon egg her idol had given her for the final test for entry into the School of Magic. With her new cutie mark, she felt very accomplished and wondering what will become of the baby dragon at her hooves. "So your highness what's will happen to the baby dragon? Will he be returned to his parents?"
"What will become of him is all on you Twilight Sparkle. You hatched him now he's your responsibility." Twilight and her parents became stressed and Twilight began hyperventilating. Raise a dragon! She began to pace around rambling on what she'd have to acquire. Sitting down by the dragon she admired the green spines on his head trailing down his back she looked up and decided on a name.
"I'll name him Spike and I'll teach him everything I can" she declared as she levitated him onto her back and trotted out of the room followed by her family. Once home, Twilight raided her father's study for books on parenting and began reading, at the same time she had a bottle prepped to feed Spike. Twilight was still a filly herself and she was driven to tackle her lot in life.
[5 years later]
Twilight sat at her desk and was hoping that her little Spikey-Wikey was behaving himself. Her mother and father helped out a ton but she bore the brunt of the weight. Between school and raising a dragon Twilight didn't have much time for making friends. Twilight when she got home put her books on her desk and spent the next few hours playing with Spike. He was getting bigger and more mobile, she was afraid of losing him. He was proving to be quite smart when it came to shapes and colors and basic pre-K stuff. His first word made Twilight squee in delight as he called her "mama". His first doctor visit was rough as trying to find a needle strong enough to get him vaccinated for the Flu and other basic illness outside of a common cold.
[3 years later]
Twilight had Spike pack his suitcase to travel to Ponyville because according to a prophecy the stars were aligning for the return of Nightmare Moon, Spike had wanted to attend a party that Twilight and he had been invited to, however, the situation he knew would cause his mother to make a hasty last-minute trip. The pair booked it out of town and on the way ran into Minuette, Lemon Drops, and Twinkle Shine. They made it to Ponyville, and Twilight was told by Celestia to check on the preparations for the Summer Sun Festival and told Twilight to make some friends and not worry about Nightmare Moon. During that time of checking the set up for the celebration, she and Spike met five other ponies and Spike made it obvious he found a certain fashion designer attractive. He wasn't that old yet and had already developed his first crush.
[2 weeks later]
Princess Luna was restored and now Twilight enrolled Spike in school, he begrudged the idea and already hit a point where he developed a couple more crushes. Twilight was doing her best to raise him but the rough patch was just ahead. Twilight had noticed Spike not only was interested in the female species but also in other males.
Spike and Twilight stood on the steps of his new school, there were other younglings there, Twilight waved to a few other ponies she met a couple of weeks ago, Spike was eying Rarity's figure and he then eyeballed her younger sister. Spike saw a couple of strong-looking colts that he seemed likable enough and then there was a pair of fillies he spotted, a pink filly with a dual-toned pink mane and a pink coat; her companion was silver-toned and had a dual-toned silver mane. The silvery one caught his fancy well enough. The teacher appeared and she was very sweet and her name was Cheerilee. Spike sat in the back left corner, on either side of him sat two colts, one was a scrawny pegasus named Featherweight, and on the other side was a chunky little earth pony named Pipsqueak; the lads were quite nice and Spike liked them pretty well. In front of him sat the fillies from earlier, Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon. Diamond Tiara turned around when Cheerilee had stepped out to apply a switch to a student for profanity. "Hi blank flanks, I heard that the reptile is illegitimate! It was something like his parents didn't want him so now he's a burden to the unicorn that brought him."
"Di, don't be so cruel. But seriously blank flanks why haven't you find your talents yet? Or even got a cutie mark and tried to solve the riddle of what it means?"
Spike was losing his cool and he snapped, "Damn you!" He yelled and threw a book at Diamond Tiara. The book hit her in the muzzle and it started to bleed. Diamond Tiara leaped from her desk and threw a left hook.
"Fuck you too!" As Pip and Featherweight dragged Spike off of Diamond Tiara Silverspoon dragged her friend back to the desk. Silverspoon knew there was gonna be a huge talking to. She felt a little bad about her part but didn't want to confess it. The parents of the offending parties arrived after school Twilight had a very disappointed look on her face. Spike knew he was so grounded, Twilight had taught him not to hit a girl or cuss at them and he had done both.
Punishment
"Spike.............about what happened today, I'm gonna have to punish you. So you're grounded for two weeks, and I can't believe I agreed to this but during the two weeks, you're gonna be Diamond Tiara's butler until you can learn to get along with her. I'll be putting your new Power Pony comic book away as well."
"That's not fair!" Spike whined.
"I have to teach to behave properly and I know this seems severe but if I don't do something to ingrain this lesson in you now then it'll be worse in the future. It's a snowfall effect, Spike, one small action if not dealt with can have a much larger impact in the future." Spike went to his room and brought out the comic book. Had she been too harsh? She asked her mom if she had done the right thing and should she reduce the 2-week grounding.
[Torture]
Spike carried his school stuff and Diamond's pack as well. The filly was barraging him with taunts and almost several times on the way to meet Silverspoon spat on Diamond Tiara. He also began to wonder if what Di had said to him yesterday was true? Was he a bastard and was he a burden to Twilight Sparkle? He hoped that Diamond Tiara doesn't learn that he's bi-sexual. Silverspoon tried to help with his load once and Diamond told her off.
"Silvy dear that P.O.S is under punishment! Don't help him out!" Spike growled and bit his tongue before he swore. He didn't want Twilight to learn that he learned his swear words from the comic book dealer in town where he bought his new comic book. At class, as Diamond Tiara sat at her desk she slapped Spike her tail and it stung against his scales. He got to see Rarity again as she dropped off Sweetie Belle. During the lunch session he and was introduced to Button Mash and Rumble. One colt joined the group named Skew. Skew Spike learned had a foul mouth and his mind was dirty. Button, Rumble, Pip, and Featherweight wanted him to leave but be kept talking about his one obsession.............Diamond Tiara.
Spike at the end of the school day had to walk Diamond Tiara home and he warned her about Skew. Diamond Tiara had Spike clean her room and do her chores. Spike was so glad to be home he plopped on the couch exhausted. "How was your day?"
"Fine! Tiara was a bitch again."
"Spike! Watch your tongue. Where did you learn that kind of talk? It's not appropriate and it's a low class to talk trash like that. So I'm asking again where did you learn the profanity?"
"I don't see any fucking problem every-creature does it."
"Not in this family! Until you tell me you in your room and no desert until further notice." As Spike left the room Twilight Velvet sat beside her young daughter.
"Parenting is rough I know but you're doing a fine job. He'll come around soon enough, by the way, I stopped by that comic book shop that you went to the other day and the vendor was using quite the colorful language and I think that is where Spike learned it. You can ask him but don't tell him tho know where he learned it.........it'll give him a chance, to tell the truth."
"Thanks, mom" Twilight went to talk to Spike and he finally did confess and he still hadn't cleaned up his mouth and Twilight hadn't learned about Skew yet. Diamond was still rude, but Silverspoon behind bet friend's back was rather endearing and kinda sweet but at the same time she was a venomous viper.
Twilight still was doing her best to be the mother Spike needs, it wasn't easy and she knew this was worth more than all of the books in the world, to raise Spike to be a prime citizen of Equestria.
Spike was glad that his first week being Diamond Tiara's servant was passed, but he was angry that he couldn't have fun because he was still grounded. That morning on his way to Diamond's house he ran into Skew, the latter went on about how he wanted to do some vile things with Diamond Tiara. He also flipped open the saddlebag he was wearing and showed some magazines that were wrapped in brown paper. "Meet up by the school this evening when you're done being Diamond Tiara's slave and I'll show you what I got."
"Deal," Spike said as they parted ways. Diamond Tiara had been bored, Spike took note that Diamond was treating him worse and Silverspoon was getting a tad nicer. The day was spent playing board games and a forced tea party. As the evening drew nigh, Spike took his leave but Diamond Tiara gave him a light hug. Struggling hit off mentally he hugged back, he hurried to the school where he met up Skew. As promised Skew showed him the magazines, the content at first made Spike feel like what they were doing was wrong but he enjoyed the raunchy pictures.
When he got home he lied to Twilight on why he was late for dinner. Granted his lie was a half-lie, he had indeed stopped at the school but he lied about playing on the swings. Monday rolled around and Spike had when Twilight was distracted swiped a few bits to buy a magazine of his own. Skew had during lunch slipped a magazine into Spike's bag and took the bits. Spike went home, he saw that nopony was home so he settled to enjoy his new purchase. Over the week, he began to objectify the other sex. The fillies at school and young mares alike he wanted to try a few things with them. He didn't dare because he was afraid that his mother would find out soon enough.
The week ended and he was now free! He joined Pip and his other friends for a rousing game of capture the flag. At one point as Spike leaped to tackle a filly he liked she felt against his own body but quickly released when he realized who he tackled. Sweetie Belle felt disturbed and awkward and she left the game and taking Scootaloo and Applebloom with her.
Meanwhile
Twilight was cleaning the house with her mother and as she was cleaning Spike's room and trying to figure how she spent a hundred fifty bits and not record it was bugging her. She moved some of Spike's books that she stacked on his nightstand she found his stash of raunchy content. She levitated it to the kitchen and waited. As she waited, Rarity dropped by. "Twilight darling, Sweetie Belle just told me that your Spike had his claws and arms around her uncomfortably and inappropriately and............" Her voice trailed off as she saw the stack of magazines.
"I don't know where I went wrong and how? I try to filter his reading content and I think I know where my hundred and fifty bits went.................and I'm looking at it."
"Maybe Shining Armor could talk to him? Or your father? I'm sure they must have struggled in this way...........we females don't make it easy for them..........that's why I'm careful in what I design. I'm sure you'll figure it out, maybe you can talk to your mother as well?"
"Thanks, Rarity" Twilight wept for a solid hour, how did she miss this red flag? Spike, she had overheard use a raunchy term to describe a mare she knew in town; she was gonna try not to yell at him. When Spike got home he froze as he realized he was so in trouble again.
"Spike................where and how did you acquire this porn? Somepony give it to you? Have you been stealing bits from me to buy these?" Spike stood silently and then sat down.
"I don't see what the big deal is? It doesn't hurt anypony."
"It is a big deal Spike some these girls most likely are forced into this lifestyle.............stuff like this is never a victimless thing. I also want you to know Rarity told me about what transpired between you and Sweetie Belle. Spike, I'm frankly shocked and horrified to find this and hear about your actions. Tell me who introduced this rubbish to you? This is important Spike because they'll drag others down as we." Spike didn't want to rat Skew out but he wanted to save his hide. So he decided to blame Rumble's sport-jock brother Thunderlane.
"Thunderlane showed me some and said I needed to buy my own to be considered cool."
"Spike I think you're lying to me, so for now sit in your room, and my dad will keep an eye on you while I go and talk to this Thunderlane."
Three hours past and Twilight stormed into Spike's room and couldn't help but tell, "Spike how could you lie to me! I demand you tell me who introduced you to this! At this moment I have four police ponies ready to arrest you for committing inappropriate contact!"
At this point, Spike began to feel the shame of his actions of the past week. He broke down and named Skew as his source and he felt like trash now. The police left to arrest Skew for possession and distribution of the material. Twilight tried to comfort Spike with a gentle hug as he wept, but he pushed her away and faced the wall.
Over the next few days, Spike didn't eat barely slept. Spike would Twilight discovered one night would sleep on the floor atop a stone slab he snuck into the house. She wondered where he was before coming home from school. Five weeks past and he handed her a canvas bag from under his mattress. When she opened it she counted out exactly a hundred and fifty bits. She was touched that he paid or all back and learned that he been working a job to earn the bits to pay for what he stole from her.
Spike came home from school and found Twilight hanging up the phone and letting out an exasperated huff. "What's wrong mother?"
"Rarity is still pressing charges and I can't get you a lawyer. I'm at the end of my rope right now!" At that moment the doorbell rang and Spike turned around and opened it. Outside stood Pinkie Pie.
"heard that you're trying to get a lawyer, I'll take the case!"
"Pinkie Pie..........what do you know about law?"
"Silly-filly, don't you know? I hold several Ph.Ds and law being one of them. Besides from what I heard from Rarity, she's too focused on Spike thst she doesn't know or care that Skew is the reason Spike had his fall. I also heard Rumble say even though Spike tried to nail Thunderlane, he will still stand up for Spike and Featherweight said the same thing, Pipsqueak is the loose bolt. Don't worry Twily I was going past them ad I left Sugar Cube Corner and overheard them."
Courtroom
Skew sat in the stand, Being grilled by Rarity's lawyer. When Pinkie began to ask questions it seemed like she was being frivoulous but the judge overruled Rarity's objections due to relevance. "So Skew, see that mare in the back left corner?"
"I do"
"Now tell the court of what you think of her?" The mare in question was Fleur De Lia and she was in a red dress and was very attractive. Skew's responded with a vulgar repsonse.
"Hell I'd love to take her and use her to my heart's desire. I'd fuck her, I mean damn she's hot!"
"By your own admission with that comment you have proven that you have no moral compass or pay it any mind. Now how about any of the fillies in your class?"
"I'd fuck them all except Diamond Tiara, she's a bitch."
"Now tell the court who is your source for your supply and how did you come to this taste in............literature?"
"Easy, before my family and I moved here we lived in Las Pegasus, man there were some babes over there! My dad owned a few strip clubs and bars. No one gets here looking at a few pictures anyways." The next several hours Pinkie spent the time proving Skew to be pervert and potential predator while at the same time she had several of Spike's classmates vouch for his character leading up to meeting Skew and after to the present time. Rarity was still hell bent on getting Spike jailed for having his claws on Sweetie Belle like he did. Pinkie knew by her Pinkie sense that she had the case well in hoof with a light sentence.
As the lawyers gave closing statements before the jury decided their verdict Pinkie Pie's closing commment made Skew laugh and Spike Knew that after Skew was damned he was next.
Skew was found guilty and sentenced to a juvenile correction facility. Skew led by the police screened profanity and spat on several mares on the way out.
Spike on Trial
Spike was scared and he confessed to everything and his school friends stood up for him and told the jury that Spike went the path he went because of Skew. They said that Spike before he met Skew was a model gentleman, even his teacher Ms. Cheerile said as much. Spike breathed slight relief that the jury even found him guilty of the accusations but the judge was leaniant with him and sentenced him to 250 hours of community service and strict observation by Shining Armor and Spike also had to wear a tracking anklet so hia whereabouts were always known. Spike had gotten lucky that the judge was being so merciful with him considering that it was Luna and Celestia. The two hundred hours went by and Spike was able to prove to Rarity that he wasn't a complete perv. He was whenever near any fillies his own age he had to have an escort to babysit him. Twilight felt bad for Spike but he has to learn somehow that crime even crimes that seem victimless actually do have victims and he was leanring that he has to be responsible for his actions.
"Mom, why didn't my birth parents want me?" Twilight froze, she knew this question would come. Spike now a young teenager and Sweetie Belle and Rarity were on their way for a visit.
"Spike dear, your parents did want you. Celestia had vowed to them thst she would see that you were raised properly. Two thousand years ago, and before Luna and Celestia took the throne there was a war raging. You learned about it, that war was called, 'Inferno Blitz'. That way was troops being deployed rapidly and lives were lost. Your parents sacrificed themselves to save you and your siblings. Sadly, your siblings eggs got crushed and by some weird twist of fate yours was missed by millimeters. I haven't told you this because I didn't know when you would be ready."
Spike sat quietly, he knew colts who had been adopted and still ended up mad that they weren't with their birth families. He knew Twilight did her best. His stint with porn and being nineteen had a short stint on drugs but he never got charged because Twilight caught him before somepony else had. Standing up he walked over to her and his university jacket rubbed against Twilight’s barrel and he hugged her tight. This action illicited a small squeek, "Thanks for raising me mother, I'll do my best to make you proud."
"I was already proud of you when you reached out to me when you hatched..............but you gotta brush your teeth our guests will be here soon!" Spike bolted for the kitchen doorway and the stairs as Twilght tried to flick him with a wet dish towel.
