A Muddy Sleepover
The Equestria Girls were going for a walk at the park on a beautiful summer day, though it had just rained half an hour ago.
As usual, Rainbow Dash was running around at super speed, until she accidentally tripped over a rock and went flying face-first in a large section of mud.
"Oh my," said Rarity.
Fluttershy ran over to Rainbow Dash and kneeled next to her, not caring how dirty she was getting. "Are you all right, Dashie?"
Rainbow Dash got into sitting position. "It takes more than tripping over a rock and a little mud to hurt me, Fluttershy." She punched her arm lightly. Fluttershy smiled.
"Cannonball!" Pinkie Pie jumped into the mud, splashing Rainbow and Fluttershy and completely covering any part of them that was still clean. Rainbow splashed Pinkie back playfully, and even Fluttershy took part in the fun, sitting down in the mud and splashing Rainbow lightly.
"Let's see who's better at mud wrestlin'," said Applejack, and she ran up and dove at Rainbow Dash. They rolled around in the mud, wrestling as intensely as they would when they weren't in mud.
"Go Dashie," said Fluttershy quietly, as she and Pinkie sat side by side in the mud watching the fight.
Eventually, Applejack forced Rainbow Dash into a facedown position in the mud, sitting on Rainbow's butt. "Ah win," she said.
Fluttershy went over to Rainbow and lay facedown next to her. "It's all right, Dashie. Maybe next time."
Rainbow smiled, feeling less annoyed at losing with Fluttershy by her side.
"That looked like fun," said Twilight. "You want to try it, Sunset?"
"Sure," said Sunset. She and Twilight stepped into the mud. Twilight sat down in the mud, and Sunset did the same. Twilight splashed Sunset with mud playfully, and Sunset splashed her back. They took part in a splashing fight rather than mud wrestling, and as this went on, both girls got more and more covered in mud, giggling the whole time.
"Come on in, Rarity," said Applejack. "The mud's nice."
"Heavens, no," said Rarity, walking to the mud's edge. "That icky mud doesn't seem... very clean."
Pinkie jumped high up and landed butt-first in the mud again, splashing everyone present, including Rarity.
"Oh, it... is... on!" Rarity belly flopped into the mud, splashing everyone else. She then splashed Pinkie, who giggled, before tackling Applejack off Rainbow Dash and sitting firmly on her, forcing her facedown into the mud.
"You win," said Applejack.
Rarity smiled. Playing in the mud wasn't so unpleasant after all.
Eventually they went over to Pinkie's house where they rinsed themselves off with the hose. Rarity and Applejack then headed over to Applejack's house, as Rarity requested Applejack to give her a full bath in her dress, which Applejack gladly accepted.
"Playing in the mud was really fun," said Twilight.
"Yes it was," said Sunset.
"It gave me so many new ideas of things we could do together."
"Sounds fun. I can hardly wait."
...
The next time Sunset went over to Twilight's house for a sleepover, Twilight answered the door, already in her pajamas.
"I have a really great plan for our sleepover," said Twilight.
"What is it?" Sunset asked, looking forward to finding out what it might be.
Twilight led Sunset to her basement. In the center of the room was something that resembled a bed-shaped inflatable pool with mud in it, and two pillows in rubber pillowcases.
"What is that?" Sunset asked.
"It's a mud bed!" said Twilight. "I made it myself. We can sleep in that using the mud as a blanket. It's got a heater installed in it so the mud is as warm as it gets under the blankets."
"That sounds really fun."
"It's a little early yet, how about we watch a movie first?"
"Sounds good to me." Sunset went into the bathroom and emerged in her pajamas.
They put on one of their favorite movies and sat on the couch. As they watched the movie, they ate popcorn and drank cider.
Halfway through the movie, Twilight said "How would you like to finish the movie in the mud bed?"
"That sounds like fun. Then we can enjoy it some more before we fall asleep."
"Do you want a swimsuit or are you fine going in your pajamas?"
"I don't mind getting my pajamas a little dirty. Or a lot." Sunset had a big smile on her face.
"Neither do I. That's what I was going to do as well. Now, see that rug leading to the bathroom?"
Sunset noticed a long rug that started under the mud bed and went all the way to the bathroom. "Yes."
"Try to only walk on it when you either have to go to the bathroom or wash up tomorrow morning. If you get a little bit of mud on the carpet, don't worry about it, I can clean it up, but let's try to only track mud on the rug as much as we can."
"Sounds good."
With some towels next to the mud bed in case she got her hands dirty and needed to pick up the remote, Twilight climbed into the mud bed and sat in the mud, dirtying her pajamas.
Sunset did the same, sitting in the mud to the left of Twilight. The mud was so wet and dirty but it also felt very warm compared to the mud they had previously played in. "This feels amazing," she said.
"Thanks," said Twilight.
They sat in the mud bed, which felt so relaxing, and finished their movie. Once it was done, Twilight turned the movie off. After removing her glasses and setting them beside the mud bed, she splashed Sunset lightly.
Sunset giggled and splashed Twilight back, being careful not to get any mud outside the mud bed.
They embraced each other tightly and rolled around in the mud, as if mud wrestling but really just having fun playing in the mud. They eventually stopped with Sunset pinning Twilight on her back. Twilight scooped up some mud in both her hands and poured it on Sunset's back. Sunset giggled at the feeling.
Eventually, they got tired of playing in the mud, and tired in general. They decided it was time to go to sleep. Twilight hit the remote light switch, shutting the lights off in the basement, except the night light, in case either of them needed to use the bathroom.
As soon as their eyes adjusted to the darkness, Twilight said "Now, do what I do." First she lay on her back with her head resting on the pillow. She then sat up and used her hands to put a lot of the mud over her legs. Then she lay back down and put the mud over the rest of her top half, except her head.
Sunset observed this and did the same, laying beside Twilight in the same position, and put the mud over herself exactly as Twilight had done. "We're going to need a long shower and a bath tomorrow morning," she said with a smile.
"We sure are," said Twilight. "Good night, Sunset."
"Good night, Twilight."
They closed their eyes. The mud was very warm and was a lot like a blanket. A very wet and messy one, to be sure, but they didn't mind. It didn't take long for them to fall asleep.

Sunset woke up the following morning. It was already light in the basement. It didn't take her long to realize the type of bed she had fallen asleep in. The mud was still very warm. Sunset moved around a little. "Twilight, are you awake?"
"Yes," said Twilight. "I was waiting for you. I don't really want to get up."
"I know what you mean." Sunset snuggled close to Twilight in the mud.
They lay in the mud bed for about a half hour before Twilight sat up. "As comfy as this is, we should probably get up. And take a bath." She giggled.
Sunset also giggled and sat up. "You're probably right. But I can't wait to do this again sometime."
They stood up and let the mud drip off them for a while. Even when they dropped dripping they were absolutely covered in mud. Not that they minded, but it was time to clean up. They walked along the rug into the bathroom.
"Aren't we getting mud on the bathroom floor?" Sunset asked.
"Easy to clean," said Twilight.
They stepped into the bathtub, still in their muddy pajamas, which needed washing as much as they did. Twilight turned on the shower, and she and Sunset rinsed themselves off.
Once the water on the shower floor was no longer brown, Twilight put the plug in the tub and filled it with soapy water. Sunset sat down as Twilight was filling the tub. There was just something fun about taking a shower and bath in her pajamas.
When Twilight decided the tub was full enough, she turned off the water and sat in the tub. Both girls washed each other all over with soap and shampoo, enjoying every second of this. When they were sure they were both clean, Twilight drained the tub, and they rinsed themselves off under the shower head. They dried themselves as best they could with towels, though their pajamas were still wet, just no longer dripping.
Sunset helped Twilight clean up the muddy footprints in the bathroom, and then they went upstairs and changed into their daytime outfits.
