Once Upon a Time

View Online

Long ago, the Earth was populated by many diffrent, interesting, and unique creatures. However, there was two that rained supreme over the others:

HUMANS and PONIES

The two species were once allies, with the two species constantly trading with eachother and helping keep their homes safe.

However, for a reason still unknown, war broke out between them.

Unfortunately for the humans, the ponies magical abilitys far surpassed their current technology. As a final attempt at winning, the humans did something terrible.

The leader of the humans decided to perform a ritual to give his son an immense ammount of magical power to help give them an advantage.

Although his ritual did work, it corrupted the boys mind and soul, turning him into a powerful genocidal maniac.

The boy immediatly started wiping out every living creature they saw, completely decimating both the humans and ponies population greatly.

While it was seemingly over for the humans, seven ponies known as the Seven Souls of Harmony had an idea on how to save the remaining ponies.

The Seven Souls were a group of ponies whos friendships were so strong, that it greatly enhanced their souls power. This allowed them to do magic way stronger than any other ponies.

They knew that the boys new magical abilitys, despite being very powerful, could not match the power of theirs. So they led the remaining ponies into a hidden underground cave system, and made a magical barrier around it that only they could destroy.

The ponies, happy to finally be safe, rebuilt society. Despite everything that had happened, it seemed that the future was bright for the ponies.

But one day, over a decade since the war, six of the Seven Souls went missing. The ponies made several search efforts, but they were never found.

One of their searches, however, introduced the ponies to an even larger cave system. The ponies, with no other option left, explored the new caves to look for them.

It has been over a hundred years since then. The ponies moved over to the new caves (now named New Equestria) while the last remaining of the Seven Souls stayed in the Seven Souls old castle. The ponies had lost all hope that they'd ever return to the surface. Unless they could somehow make a new Seven Souls, they were trapped down there forever.

Unknown to them, however, a new source of hope was coming.

Just not in the way they would have expected...

UNNAMED MOUNTAIN, 202X

On a peaceful summer day, a human child named Caddy was climbing up a mysterious mountain, which was known to emit some sort of weird energy that scientists couldn't identify. Caddy was curious and was determined to find out what it was.

He reached a flat area of the mountain, and decided to take a short break. The area was covered in vines growing out from an old tree, and it had a massive hole near the middle of it.

Caddys curiosity had once again taken over, as he went over to the hole to see what was down it. As he made his way over to the hole, he wasn't looking where he was going, and tripped on one of the vines. He screamed as he starting falling down the hole.

After a full minute of falling, Caddy suddenly landed on an extremely soft patch of flowers, knocking him out instead of killing him.

And so the story begins...

Deadly Dreams (Meeting Flowey)

Caddy woke up inside of a dark void with a light from above shining down on him. He sat there, wondering if he had died or if the whole mountain climbing was a dream. He sat in silence for a while, until he heard a voice coming from behind him.

"Pssst! Hey, kid! Turn around!" it said. Caddy turned around like it told him to, seeing what appeared to be a flower with a face.

"Howdy, kid! My name is Flowey! Flowey the Flower!" Flowey said. "I saw you unconscious on that body of flowers, and decided to enter your dreams to make sure you were OK! And as it turns out, you are!"

Caddy was a bit freaked out that he was currently listening to what was apperantly a sentient flower that could speak AND travel into people's dreams, but the flowers friendliness help calmed him down.

"You've entered a new underground world, and to help you survive down here, i'll tell you the basics of ba- FRIEND MAKING!"

Caddy suddenly felt something, like something was being ripped straight out of their body, yet without feeling any sort of pain. He saw a red heart-shaped object inside of a white box. There was 4 orange rectangles in front of him, each one saying a certain action with a little icon next to it. The one on the very left had been crudely scribbled over in red crayon.

"This, right here, is your SOUL! The very culmination of your being" Flowey explained "When you want to make someone your friend down here, your soul will appear inside of this box. You can move it around by thinking about the direction you'd like to move it in!"

Caddy thought about moving his soul to the left, and sure enough, it moved to the left like he said.

"You have three buttons you're able to use in here. ACTing allows you to interact and conversation with your soon-to-be friends as well as check out their stats! ITEMs allow you to... give your friends stuff!" Caddy began to wonder why Flowey took such a long pause when explaining items to him. He began to wonder if this Flower was REALLY trustworthy.

"And the last one is MERCY! If for some reason they don't want to be your friend and instead want to fight you, you can use it to run away!" Now Caddy was extremely suspicious of the flower. If the button was solely for running away, why would it be called MERCY instead of run? He knew there was something he wasn't telling him!

"Oh, I almost forgot! When you successfully ACT with someone, you'll need to use you soul to collect these little things called FRIENDLINESS PELLETS!" Flowey suddenly summoned a bunch of white pellets crudely colored in pink paint. "As an example, i'll send you a few!"

Flowey launched a "friendliness pellet" towards Caddy at a high speed. Caddy, now knowing what Flowey is saying is complete lies, he dodged it.

There was a long, awkward silence between the two. Suddenly, Flowey surrounded Caddys soul in a circle of bullets.

"Well, it was worth a try." He said, mildy annyoed, "Now. DIE!!!"

Flowey started laughing as he made the bullets get closer to Caddy. But suddenly, the world started fading to black.

"WAIT, I FORGOT WE'RE IN A DREAM! I GOTTA KILL YOU BEFORE YOU WAKE UP!" Flowey shouted as he made the bullets come in faster. But before he could get his hit in

Everything went black...

True Begining

After many hours of being unconscious, Caddy finally started to wake up. As he was getting up, he took a look at the room around him.

The room was very similar to the one he was just in during his dream, except the room actually had a wall surrounding it. There was also a hallway right in front of him, leading to a door at the very end.

With no other choice but to go forward, Caddy got himself up off the flowers he was currently lying in, and began walking towards the door.

He stopped, however, when he heard a noise faintly in the distance. It sounded like something was running away from somewhere near the room. Hoping to catch up with them, Caddy ran through the door and into the next room.

The room was a long hallway made of green bricks, with a floor made of lighter colored green bricks. The room was also in a state of ruin, with many cracks and holes in the walls and vines growing everywhere. The room was incredibly dark, with a patch of dirt in the middle that had light shining on it through a hole in the ceiling. There was a door at the end of the hallway, which had been completely ripped of the hinges and lying on a small pile of rubble close to the dirt pile.

Caddy began walking through the hallway, and past the patch of dirt. He had no idea why, but he had a feeling something was supposed to happen there. He decided to just shrug it off and continued walking.

Caddy walked through the door, and was amazed at what he saw. It was a massive room with a large door on one of the walls, which was lit up through more holes on the ceiling. There was a broken fountain in the middle surrounded by a red carpet which had paths leading to two hallways on the sides and the room Caddy has just came from. The room was also EXTREMELY cold, presumably from whatever was outside of the large door. Other than that, the room was completely empty.

Caddy walked over to the hallway on his right, which was blocked by a locked metal door. There was a sign nailed to the wall that looked like it was placed fairly recently.

"Due to several complaints of ponies going missing after entering, the hallway leading to New Equestria is now off limits to anypony without a pass" it read.

After reading the sign, Caddy walked over to the large door. It had no handle, or any other way it could be opened.

He then checked the broken fountain. There was a plaque written on the front of it, which had seven hearts on it. One large heart, surrounded by six smaller hearts, each with an image ingrained into them. There was text on it that read

"In memory of the Seven Souls, saviours of all of ponykind."

Caddy then began walking to the last place he could go, the hallway on the left. Unlike the one on the right, it was completely open.

The hallway was completely dark, with no holes in the ceiling lighting it up. After about thirty seconds of walking, Caddy finally saw another hole in the ceiling, lighting up a small area of the room.

As Caddy passed through the short, lit area of the hall, he heard a noise and immediatly stopped.

He looked around, but the hall was too dark so he couldn't see anything. He then started hearing the sound of something slowly walking towards him. He froze in fear as he suddenly heard a voice coming from behind him.

"Hey kid, don't you know that you're not allowed to be in here, right?" the voice said in a deep and menacing tone. "Sorry but i'm gonna have to get you out of here. Just turn around-" Caddy quickly turned around, and saw what appeared to be a hoof poking through the darkness "- and grab my hoof."

Caddy nervously began reaching his hand out to whatever this mysterious creature was, and grabbed the hoof.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of a whoopee cushion being set off as some lights on the ceiling Caddy couldn't see all turned on at once.

"hehehe... the old whoopee cushion in the hoof trick. it's ALWAYS funny." the owner of the voice said, now in a more friendly and laid back tone. He was a pony with an orange coat, a blue mane and tail with a yellow stripe, yellow eyes, and an image of a piece of lined paper with XD written in green on the side of its thighs. He was also wearing a white shirt with a red jacket on top of it.

"anyways, you're a human, right?" he asked. Caddy nodded yes while having a slightly confused look on his face.

"that's hilarious" he said "i'm Comic Relief, the funniest pony in all of Newer Equestria. i've actually been looking for a human right now."

"you see, my brother is a huge fan of humans, and has always wanted one as a friend." Comic said "and when he was walking near the old entrance to the abandoned New Equestria exit he heard something fall inside of there. he thought it might be a human, so he got me to check. i usually wouldn't have done it, but-" Comic turned away from Caddy "he's been feeling a little down lately ever since his latest application to join the princesses Royal Guard, and i really wanted to cheer him up." he turned back towards Caddy "so i'll show you the way out of here, as long as you hang out with my brother, ok?"

Caddy, with no other choice, nodded yes.

"great, thanks for the help. now, follow me. i know a shortcut." Comic started walking, and Caddy followed behind. As they reached a split path in the hall, Comic turned back towards Caddy.

"oh wait, i almost forgot" he said. He reached his hoof behind him, and pulled out a jacket around Caddys size, although slightly larger. "you're gonna need to wear this if you don't want to freeze to death."

Caddy put on the jacket, making him feel extremely warm.

"and now that you've done that" Comic said, pointing towards the right hall "let's get outta here."
