a Human in Equestria story were I havent really seen a setting for yet
Transported as a child into Equestria max is adopted by none other than the storm king but all is not what it seems for max.
not fully cannon with the MLP timeline and quite a few characters will act slightly different than their counterparts but should be pretty close to the base of their character, also spike will be closer to a teen in later parts than a baby dragon
It was a wonderful day, the temperature was nice, a breeze was flowing and everyone seemed to be downright happy to be alive. To make things even better it was Max's birthday.
Max had just turned 7 today, he was being doted on by his parents who had been planning this birthday party for young Max for an entire month. A lot of people thought Max was an adorable child with light blue eyes, brown hair , and slim physique, but his parents tended to go overboard just a little for they truly thought their child was the purest bundle of joy.
Throughout the party many of his family and friends were singing a happy birthday song to Max, and as they were finishing the song the fabled birthday cake was being revealed for young Max with six normal candles and one big candle as the number 7 in the center of them all.
As they finished singing Max's mother looked at him and said "well go one Max make a wish."
Max thought hard about what he wanted. He realized he had a loving family some good friends, but what was missing from his life was an adventure. He closed his eyes and prepared to make his wish he thought to himself.
"I wish I could go on an amazing adventure."
As Max blew out his candles he opened his eyes a voice echoed throughout his head. "Careful what you wish for youngling."
slowly after that Max fell into a deep slumber. As Max slept his dreams became quite vivid of odd landscapes of things he had never seen, creatures that looked fantastical, and of things that could only be described as magical. however dreams usually only ever show the good parts of anything.
Max awoke slowly feeling groggy and unsure of what was going on. His whole body felt as if it was wrung dry and he could but barely move a muscle. As he took in his surroundings he appeared to be in an alleyway as he realized he was no longer in his own home Max started to freak out.
"Where am I!?" Max near screamed as he could not muster much of his voice.
The alley looked torn and destroyed and looked nowhere near any place he had been feeling almost like he stepped into the bazaar of one his favorite movies Aladdin.
as he went to get up near stumbling over as he did he started to walk forward to only step on the tail of a cat, as he heard the cat cry in pain he fell backwards as the cat pulled forward, however he wasn't prepared for what happened next.
"OW hey watch were your going kid" the cat standing on two legs said. "Can't even sleep around here without someone coming by stepping on my tail"
The cat looked slightly older than max as he heard this max almost forgot about his current situation saying the only thing he could think of.
"A talking cat!" as he said this the cat turned around and told him what for
"I am not a cat! I am an Abyssinian, and what are you some weird hairless ape."
Max was bewildered by this creature that looked to be a mix between a cat and a person, and responded to him.
"I'm not an ape, I'm a person. you know human?"
The cat looked at Max with an odd look
"What's a human?" the cat asked
"what do you mean what's a human?" max responded
The cat looked over max before answering. "I mean I've seen a lot of creatures around here but not once have I seen or heard of anything like you. Were in Eques did you come from?"
At his reply Max remembered his current situation. "wait what is Eques?" max asked confused
"what do you mean what's Eques. this whole world is Eques. How could you not know something like that?" the cat said bewildered by the question
Max sat there for a second pondering what the cat was saying. As he thought to himself he decided to ask the cat a question." but isn't the world called Earth?"
the cat chucked a bit "earth you mean like dirt or an earth pony?"
Max was stunned by what this cat was saying he had never heard of Eques before and apparently he was not even on Earth anymore. With this knowledge Max just started to realize how bad his situation actually was as he pondered what to do the cat spoke again.
"Well kid its been odd but I've got things to do and places to be." The cat began walking away before Max stopped him
"Wait you can't just leave me here! I don't know where I am or if I can even get home!"
The cat responded "Sorry kid that's not really my problem I've got my own issues to deal with."
Max began to break down crying "I'll never see my friends, my family what am I gonna do."
Max's words caused the cat to flinch he knows what its like to not have any family and unlike this kid he was abandoned and he knew how hard it was to survive out here on your own in this place. rubbing the back of his head he sighed.
"look kid if you promise to stop crying ill help you out show you around and what to do to survive, but you have to listen to everything I say and avoid the places I tell you not to go deal?"
Max looked at the cat and thought for a second. He really had no options so for the sake of survival he answered through teary eyes. "ok"
"Perfect so now that is done with My name is Capper what is yours?"
Max looked at him drying his tears a bit. "My name is Max."
It was not easy for Max to live in this new world, for the first month Capper brought him food and had him increase his stamina and agility telling him he would not survive with how clumsy he was. So he stayed around the alley he first arrived in since he and Capper were effectively homeless. for training Capper had him sprint a lot each day and to practice moving object without disturbing the other objects around them.
At first Max had a hard time doing much of anything but as each day passed his body was changing rapidly and he was feeling much stronger than he had ever before, even after 1 week his body was recharging faster and faster allowing him to do more and more running each day. His breathing also became easier and he noticed something strange he had cut himself a few times but after a day he would not notice any scarring almost as if when he slept small wounds would heal overnight. At first he was only able to run around 3 miles throughout an entire day, after a week he could run 6 miles in a day, after a month he barely even got tired running all day and could effectively run without tiring.
This was odd to Max and even odd to Capper who thought he would always be slow but he was nearing Capper in endurance though Cappers max speed was still way faster than his running. As well his Dexterity was improving quite well allowing him to move items without others being moved.
Throughout the month Capper and Max grew quite close mostly at night they talked since Capper was gone most of the day while Max trained. Capper would tell Max Stories he heard, his dreams, and just make things up While Max mostly just listened.
After about a month Capper told Max he was ready to come with him to get food. He had already told Max that they would be stealing for food and at first Max was against it but realized he was being a bit of a hypocrite when he had eaten stolen food all this month, and told Capper as long as they only stole what they ate he would do it.
Capper showed him how to keep close to the ground and to seem unassuming. and told him to mostly only target food stalls. Max at first was in awe at all the different creatures he saw throughout the town but snapped out of it when he remember he had to focus on surviving. his first target was an apple stall being quick and using the footwork techniques Capper showed him he moved without making much noise through the crowd around the stall he waited for one of the patrons to start doing business with the stall owner before quickly nabbing an apple with none the wiser to his actions.
as he did this Capper moved from stall to stall doing much the same thing though much faster than Max. Max continued from stall to stall taking what they need for a few days worth. As he was finished he and Capper returned to the alley with their spoils. Max was surprised how well that went, before Capper reassured him "I've been doing this for 3 years and have yet to get caught and I taught you everything you know if you got caught I would've came over and slapped you. I've always been good at sneaking around and you have near the same gift for it I do."
Max was happy that Capper praised him for today and as they settled down to eat he asked "How did it come about that you had to start stealing for food?"
This caused Capper's mood to dampen a little but decided it wouldn't change anything for Max to know "I was abandoned here in this town three years ago by my parents. They were horrid parents to begin with barely fed me anything and would hit me when anything went wrong. so all in all I'm glad I'm not around them anymore!" he started yelling near the end
Upon hearing this Max immediately went to Capper hugging him "that wasn't a family that was just the people who gave birth to you family are people who care about you will always look out for you." Max said in a mellow voice
Capper started crying remembering his childhood was never good for him before responding. "I guess I have no family then."
Max pulled out of the hug. "Well then me and you will have to be a family then. I owe you everything and I always wanted a big brother."
Capper was stunned by this before going for a hug toward Max this time. and telling Max "thanks for that I didn't know I needed that." remembering Max had a family to go to he made a promise. "I Promise you Max one day ill find a way to get you back to your family."
This earned a smile from Max who said "No, one day ill find a way to get us back to our family."
Life continued for another few months with nothing too exciting going on until one day while they were just doing their routine routes for food when they say a patrol of guards going through the city this happened once every so often yet this one had a carriage which looked awfully expensive as Max was grabbing food from one of the carts when a rainbow explosion was seen off in the distance distracting Max causing him to move to fast knocking over a cart of food. As he stumbled he tripped on some of the food causing him to tumble out into the street right in front of the guards and the carriage.
Capper reacted fast going to grab Max before both were grabbed by the guards. "How dare you stop the Storm kings personal carriage!" the guard said before a booming voice came out of the carriage "What's going on out here why have we stopped."
A large satyr came out of the carriage before the guard responded. "Forgive us lord storm king two miscreants blocked the path."
The satyr looked at the two before looking closer toward Max. "well what do we have here what would you be my dear friend?"
Max was slow to answer unsure who this was and began to look toward Capper for an answer before a guard grabbed him "The storm king asked you a question young boy." this new guard which was barely Max's height and wasn't very intimidating.
Stumbling max responded. "M-My name's Max"
"No my dear boy I asked what you are not who" said the Satyr
"I-Im human" replied max
This caused the satyr to pause "Well now that is something I have never heard of before, tell me Max were is it you come from."
Max answered "I'm from Earth sir."
This caused the Satyr to stir a bit "Well now I've been all over the world and have yet to hear of anyplace called Earth tell me boy were is it?"
"I'm not to sure sir I woke up here in this town about 5 months ago with no idea were I am." Max replied
"interesting, boy from hence forth you will be staying at my palace, I find you interesting and wish to learn more about this Earth place." The Satyr said
"um-m sir if its not to much trouble could my friend come along as well?" Max asked
"Boy I have no need for an Abyssinian, however you do need a servant. Boy you will now serve Max as his personal servant do you understand?"
Max was about to protest this when Capper stopped him "Of course your liege anything for my dear friend Max."
Max whispered over to Capper. "What was that for?"
"Listen Max this is the Storm King he's notorious for getting his way one way or another. plus were going into his Palace I don't mind playing servant to you if it mean we get out of the streets." Capper whispered back to max.
"Well ok but I still don't like the idea of my brother playing servant to me." Max replied
"Ok from hence forth Max you are a guest to the palace, you will be trained, fed, and will work with me on a project I've been working on. Abyssinian you will also be trained to be a suitable servant and guard for Max do you both understand?" The Storm king said
"Yes sir" both replied
"Good know climb aboard boys, we've got much to work on." the Storm King said
Once they arrived at the palace they were both sent to rest for the day. The next day the Storm King called Max to discuss more about Earth and other things while Capper was sent to learn what duties he had as a Servant.
"So my boy tell me what happened leading up to you coming to this place." the Storm king asked.
"well I was at home with my family and friends celebrating my birthday when they were singing to me wishing me a happy birthday, when it came time for me to make a wish I wished for an adventure. Next thing I know I woke up in that town in an alleyway." Max fought hard to not tear up as he told his story
"Well dear boy that is an unfortunate set of events. if you help me with my work and tell me more about this Earth place I shall allow you to stay as my ward, however you must be trained in many things and must never bring shame to my name do you understand?" the Storm king said.
"Yes sir" Max responded.
"Good now my boy come with me we must go and meet your combat instructor." the Storm king said
The two walked through the palace before coming to an iron door. they opened the door to a room with Padded floors and what looked like like wooden weapons of all kind all over the room. as they entered Max noticed Capper and a small pony with a broken horn and scar over her right eye.
"Well well well what do we have here two more new recruits for me to train." A masculine voice called out.
Before max could question who said that a Large monkey creature swung down from the ceiling, looking up Max could see balancing beams above the ceiling
"Hello to you two my name is Wu-Kong I train all the special cases for the Storm king here." Wu-Kong spoke in a raspy voice
Upon closer inspection Max could see Wu-Kong was quite old with his features being pretty wrinkled however his body was the opposite being quite toned and fit.
"um hello sir" Max answered first with Capper slowly behind him "hello sir"
"Well now good manners rare in this place, where did you find these two Storm King? an Abyssinian and a creature even I have never seen reminds me of a hairless newborn." Wu-Kong said as he lifted several limbs of the two boys with all 4 of his appendages while he balanced on his tail.
"I found them in the street of the town below old general. I have need of you to train them especially focus on this boy here." He pointed to Max "I have need of him at times for the project so make sure to keep him up with the other two. the other is his servant, however it is quite rare to see an Abyssinian this far off from home so he is to be the Boys' personal bodyguard as well. Well then I leave them in your care old general." after saying this the Storm King walks off
"Well then boys let me introduce you to the other student over here, this is Fiz-." The pony cuts him off
"I told you my name is Tempest Shadow now General." Tempest said quite angrily
Wu-Kong laughs at this "Sorry little one forgot you chose a new name in service to the Storm King."
Max walks over to Tempest and Wu-Kong extending his hand "Hi I'm Max, nice to meet you both."
Wu-Kong shakes his hand while Tempest ignores him and starts to walk off.
"Forgive her she has always been a bit rude to people she doesn't think worth her time." Wu-Kong says to the the two.
"Well I'm Capper, Pleasure to meet you Sir Captain." Capper says whilst he does a faux bow.
Wu-Kong laughs at this "Well boy if your gonna give me that much fake respect we'll be here far to long. No need for the pleasantries here my job is to train you, and that's all your gonna get from me. Either just call be by name or call me Sir Understood?"
Both boys reply "yes sir."
"Well then first off, both of you seem to have adequate muscle tone for your age so for the most part we are just gonna keep up the same routine you've been doing while also fixing muscles which haven't been used as much. For you Max your gonna do Pull-ups and push-ups. and doing 3 reps of 10 of what you can manage with the weights over there. your arms are far to weak right now for any of the techniques I have to show you. For you Capper your gonna start on techniques for breathing while increasing how long you can increase your maximum speed, and how to use all your appendages better both your legs are toned enough but you need to loosen up a bit your body isn't meant to be as tense as you seem to be your constantly overexerting your muscles which will cause growth stunts. Relax your body then breath in and out and casually run around the room you need to be able to increase your ability while your body is in a relaxed state."
As the two of them go and begin their trainings Tempest takes a glance over at them before going back to her routines moving her hoofs in a fluid motion she incapacitates a training dummy.
"Woah that was awesome!" Max said aloud having witness a pony just do some form of martial art in front of him.
"Hmph it isn't anything that special kid." Tempest says dismissively before continuing her training with a slight smirk on her face.
