It was a bright sunny day in Canterlot, summers usually were. As much as Princess Luna loved the night, summers were also a nice time of year for her. The bright blue skies and clear blue lakes. And how the night was warmer than any other time of year, it was her favorite.

Luna carefully trotted into the kitchen. She looked around to see if anybody was there, but there was no one, so she proceeded. Luna didn't want anyone to know where she was going, ponies sure can bother you if your royalty.

She walked over to the fridge and slowly pulled the handle, letting the chilled air hit her coat. On a hot day like this, it sure was appreciated. Luna reached to the back of the fridge and pulled out a big container. Inside it, was her precious sandwich. But not just any sandwich, the last hay, daisy and mushroom sandwich left in the whole castle. It had been a gift from the Yaks to show their appreciation of their hospitality. They were once two sandwiches, one for Celestia and one for Luna, but Celestia already ate her's. Foolish sister, Luna thought, giggling to herself.

She opened the container to check if the sandwich was still there. Yep, it was still there in all it's glory. She put the lid back on and put it in the microwave to heat up. When it was done, she took it out and put it in her picnic bag, along with a bottle of juice and a cupcake.

Luna's ears perked up when she heard hoof steps behind her. She quickly spun around to see who it was, but calmed down when she saw it was just Celestia.

"Oh, hello Tia. You scared me." Luna said, putting a hoof to her chest to slow her breathing.

"Sorry, Luna. I just came to see what your doing." Celestia's eyes fell on the basket. "What's in there?"

"Just a sandwich, juice and a cupcake. I'm just going for a quick picnic in the garden." Luna replied, using her magic to teleport a red and white checkered blanket to herself.

"I see. Say, what sandwich is in there?" Celestia asked curiously, peering closer to the basket.

"Just the one we got from the Yaks." Luna answered suspiciously. Why would Celestia care what sandwich was in there, Luna asked herself. Surely she wouldn't try to- No. Celestia is a respectable mare who would never stoop as low as stealing.

"Oh okay, have fun." Celestia said cheerfully as Luna trotted out of the kitchen.

Luna was wondering the lush Canterlot gardens, trying picking a spot among the tall green bushes to have her lunch. She was carrying a medium sized picnic basket filled with her lunch, the basket felt light than usual, but she payed no mind to it. Luna chose a spot near a tall apple tree. What an apple tree was doing there all alone still puzzled her.

Luna dropped the basket near her and spread out a red and white checkered blanket on the grass for her to sit upon. She made herself comfy before opening the basket, expecting her food to lay inside. But no. The basket was empty. She looked deeper inside it, but still no food. She lifted it up and shook it a bit, somehow expecting her food to fall out, but still, nothing.

She got up and looked around her to see if it had been stashed somewhere in the bushes, but alas, she saw nothing.

Luna started to get frustrated and stomped her hoof down on the ground. "Where could it be!? Who took my lunch?!"

Luna remembered that she had double checked to make sure her lunch was there so how could anyone have stolen it she wondered.

She then picked up the basket and rolled up the blanket and raced back to the castle. If someone had taken her lunch, they were going to pay, and she was gonna make sure of that, but first, she was going to need some help.

Luna arrived outside the castle walls and stopped running. She then spotted the pony she was looking for, Mango. Mango was Luna's personal guard. He was the one who made sure Luna was safe at all times. She had grown close to the bat pony, for he always cared for her every need as well.

"Mango! Mango, there you are. I was looking for you." Luna walked up to the bat pony, who was leaning on a wall, looking bored.

He quickly straightened up and look her in the face. "Hello, Princess Luna. Do you need anything? Are you in danger?" He asked with interest.

"No, no, Mango. I simply require your help with something, follow me." Luna grabbed his hoof and walked with him.

"Oh? What is it then?" Mango asked, freeing is hoof and pacing with her.

"I need your help to find them culprit. I am afraid someone has committed a great crime against me." Luna said with dramatic effect.

"Really?! What did they do? Do you need me to call the Equestria Investigation Association?" Mango looked uneased as he panicked.

"No, there will be no use for the E.I.A here. This is something I can handle. With your help of course." Luna said, still not telling him what she needed help with. Which was making Mango quite mad now.

"Okay, but will you please tell what they stole?" Mango asked as calmly as possible.

"My lunch. Someone in this castle has stolen the most important thing I owned! And we shall not rest until we find the culprit! Come Mango!" Luna grabbed his hoof again and raced with him into the castle.

"What?!" Mango scram as he was pulled inside.

Luna stopped running and let go of Mango when they reached inside. She inspected the halls for anypony who looked oddly suspicious. She spotted a maid with light pink hair and a pale blue coat walking out of the kitchen. She looked like she was chowing something.

"Mango, look over there. She must be eating the stolen sandwich." Luna pointed in her direction.

"Who? Cotton Dust? She doesn't seem like the type to steal." Mango looked at the mare again, she had a happy grin on her face as she swallowed whatever she was eating.

"Come on let's go question her. I'm sure she did it!" Luna dashed towards her, Mango following behind her.

"The things I do for you Princess." He shook his head and followed.

"You! Cotton Dust! What do you think you are doing?!" Luna questioned the mare, who was now cowering below her.

"Y-your Majesty, I-I-I was just about to go finish making Princess C-Celestia's quarters." Cotton Dust stuttered, not daring to look up.

"Rise, look me in the eye when you speak. What were you eating just now? Was it a sandwich!?" Luna shouted in her face again.

"N-no, I was eating a salad with hay f-fries." Cotton said in a soft voice.

"Oh, well I apologize. But have you seen anything suspicious around here? Anybody who looks like a sandwich thief?" Luna asked her in a softer tone.

"Not that I know of, why do you ask, Princess?" Cotton raised an eyebrow.

"My lunchtime sandwich has been stolen. And I am determined to find the criminal and punish them for their crimes!" Luna then galloped off in a different direction, looking for more staff to question.

"I'm so sorry for that, Cotton, here." Mango handed her a small bag of bits and ran off after Luna.

"Some ponies are so strange."Cotton Dust mumbled before walking off.

Mango found Luna spying on one of Celestia's guard from behind a pillar. Using binoculars she got from who-knows-where.

"Princess, with all do respect, don't you think this is a bit much?" Mango asked her with some concern.

"Bit much? A bit much!? They stole my sandwich! Of course it isn't a bit much. Now what is that guard's name? I think he looks suspicious." Luna said, putting the binoculars down and looking at the now very concerned bat pony.

"I think his name is Amour Hoof." Mango replied, looking to the white pegasus guard who was now walking away.

"Quick! He's getting away! Follow him!!" Luna yelled, dashing after him like a mad-stallion.

"Oh sweet Celestia." Mango muttered under his breath, and followed her once more.

"You! Stop right there!" Luna called after him.

The Amour Hoof stopped in his tracks and turn to see Luna there. He got down and bowed, not looking up to meet her gaze.

"Your majesty, how can I assist you?" He asked respectfully.

"Don't play dumb with me! I know it was you! I can see it in your eyes!" Luna roared.

Armour Hoof was so confused, he got up and looked her in the face. Instead of fear, he had a look of pure confusion.

"Excuse me, Princess, but I don't understand." He tried to explain to her, but she wasn't having it.

"Where were you at the scene of the crime? Huh? Were you, oh I don't know, stealing a sandwich!?" Luna stomped her hoof down in front of him in anger.

"Princess don't you think this is-" Mango tried to reason again but was cut off.

"Quite Mango! Can't you see I'm working?!" Luna shushed him and continued. "Now, answer me! What were you doing before the scene of the crime at 12:30pm?"

"I was doing a perimeter check." He tried to answer as naturally as possible.

"Did you see anything out of the ordinary?" Luna asked, peering closer to his face than necessary.

Armour backed away a bit, a red blush crept onto his face as Luna moved a bit closer. "N-no, I didn't see anything."

With that, Luna back away and nodded slowly. "I see, thank you for your time." She then walked away calmly.

"Just take it." Mango said dully and handed him another small bag of bits.

Amour gladly accepted them and trotted away merrily.

Mango groaned and ran to catch up with Luna.

When Mango caught sight of Luna, she saw now spying on one of the kitchen staff through her binoculars behind a pillar. This was getting ridiculous and it had to stop.

"Princess, I think we need to think logically on this." Mango said as he moved closer to Luna.

"But we've almost found the culprit! Come on, just this last guy?" Luna whined as she explained.

"Princess, you've scared two staff members, scared almost the whole castle by creeping around and you look ridiculous spying on one of your guards from behind a pillar. And he can see you!" Mango pointed to the bat pony guard who was now starring at them in confusion.

"I suppose you're right, but I still want to know who stole the sandwich." Luna said sadly with her head drooped.

"It's alright Luna, I'm sure we'll find them. And can't you just get another sandwich from Yak-Yakastan?" Mango asked as he put a hoof on her shoulder.

"No, the bread used to make the sandwich only grows once every 2 years." Luna sniffed.

Just then, Mango spotted Celestia walking down the hall, holding what looked like a sandwich. Luna's sandwich! Celestia kept walking and didn't notice Mango or Luna behind the pillar.

"Princess! I think I just saw the pony who stole your sandwich! Come with me!" This time, Mango grabbed Luna by the hoof and ran with her after Celestia.

"What do you mean? Who?" Luna looked forward to see the pony they were chasing was none other than Celestia. And she was holding her sandwich!

"I should have known!" Luna broke free from Mango's grasp and sprinted after Celestia, tackling her to the ground.

"Ahh! Luna what the-?!" Celestia tried to ask but was interrupted by Luna yelling.

"Celestia, how dare you! I trusted you! And then you betray me like this?" Luna asked her angrily.

"I can explain Luna. I just wanted the sandwich, It was so good, I just wanted a little bite, but then I ate it all, so I used a spell to clone it, but then I ate that one, and it's the one I'm eating now." Celestia explained sheepishly as she pushed Luna off her gently.

"Wait..what? You can clone sandwiches?" Luna asked, her anger fading into confusion.

"Um, yes." Celestia replied. "With the right spell, you can clone anything."

"If you teach me how to clone this sandwich, I will forgive you. Now come, take me to this cloning book!" Luna grabbed Celestia's hoof and pulled her away to the library.

"W-What just Happened?" Mango muttered to himself.

"I have no idea." One of the staff members watching replied.

"I quit."
