Pinkie seems to have a bad (and crazy) day. However, maybe a new pony in town will cheer her up!

((This story is based in the episode "Party of One"))

So yes, first story I wrote... where should I start?

Oh right, Pinkie seems to be having a bad day. Her friends don't want to party with her, and they're lying at her! She falls into a very big depression. Meanwhile, a new pony in town seems to... well, have just arrived, and he had found that the first pony that talked to him, wanted something, and as the new pony in time, he should do it, just to be nice in the first day with the ponies in town. He arrives at a rather colorful house and finds... a crazy pony.

And like this, it starts a story of some sorts. Where we take on a more crazy-ish clumsy Pinkamena, more than a sadistic, killing, maniac Pinkamena, with just one chapter.

It was the first day, actually, the first moment of my arrival in Ponyville. No one seemed to notice I was a new guy in here, or just simply didn't seem to care. I mean, I'm just a normal unicorn, there was nothing really special about me. I was staring at the ponies at the village, I felt weird, but I couldn't stop, there were so many ponies. Pegasus, unicorns, and earth ponies, together in such a small village. Canterlot was definitely different from this place.

I was surprised by the sudden presence of an orange pony, with blond hair and a brown hat, who was talking to me.

"Hey there, partner." The earth pony said. She had a weird accent. One of those accents you hardly ever get to hear in a such a big, elegant city like Canterlot.

"Hi." A small response from my part.

"Uh..." She did a small pause and looked at me. I guess she was trying to figure out if she had seen me before, she talked again, she noticed I noticed her, I suppose. "Can you do me a small favor? I know you're new and all, and you'll also gain some friends!"

Friends was not a weird word, but it was weird hearing it from just a favor. Guess friendship here is much easier. "I suppose... what do I have to do?"

"Sorry for bothering you." I think that had to go before she actually asked for the favor. "We're kind of running out of time for a surprise party for a friend, and you're exactly what we need to entertain her!" Kind of weird. I'm just a new pony after all.

"How does that work? I just came into town and all... I mean, I do have a house and all, I know where my house is..."

"Exactly, you just came to town. You see, our friend really likes new ponies, she's normally the one who welcomes you into town. However, we need her to be inside her house for a while. Will you be able to do that?" I looked at the sky and thought. The idea seemed easy alright. However, I'm not the best talker, even the most talkative pony couldn't last more than 10 minutes with me. I'm just that boring when it comes to talking.

"I'm sorry. But I'm not sure if I can entertain her for a lot of time."

"I'm sure you'll be able to! Just give us at least half an hour."

"Half an hour!? That's a lot of time!"

"You'll do fine!" Before I could notice it, she was pushing me towards a house, which was pretty close to where we were in the first place. The house looked small, it seemed like it was a normal house for just one pony, at least, for this village.

I turned back and slightly pushed the orange pony away. "I'm sorry, but I'm just not sure if I can mantain a conversation with such pony I don't know in the first place." Try to be subtle, not say anything really directly. "I'm just that non-talkative."

"You've been entertaining me for five minutes now. I'm sure you'll do fine!" The orange pony smiled at me, and before I could even notice, she knocked on the door. I tried running, but being new in town and knocking on doors of strangers' houses didn't seem like a reputation I could stand, and worse, in my first day. The orange pony ran away, and I had to stand there. A high voice was heard from inside "Coming!" I could hear more mumbling, and I would have bet I heard the words "Mr Turnip", but that couldn't be, unless that's a name in Ponyville... pretty weird village right now...

A pink pony opened the door. Her hair was straightned, it was pretty long, at least for me. "Hello!" She said, pretty enthusiastic unlike the looks she gave. "What brings you here... uh... pony?" Well, it's better than being called sir at my age, I suppose.

"Umm... they told me to come here to...umm..." Well, I should've though of what to say. "I think, they told me to come here to know you." That sounded pretty weird, but I think it worked, because the mare seemed to smile. She grabbed my hooves and dragged me inside, well, it was certainly sure that she liked new ponies. I ended up falling to the floor.

"Come on, take a seat!" She didn't seem to care about picking me up, she was sitting with... rocks? Not only that, but a bag of flour, a clump of lint, and a bucket of turnips. All of these objects had party hats. If the weirdness I felt upon talking to this pony wasn't enough, I felt even more weird around her, when I noticed the objects. "Let me introduce you to Madam Le Flour, she came first to the party after all!" The party? This was a party? How old was this pink pony anyways? She moved to her left, grabbed a big bag of flour, and started moving it and talking in a slight french accent. "Bonjour, visitor." I could only give a small, nervous smile, and keep on with it.

"Hello Miss Madam Le Flour" I stood up and gave a small reverence, it didn't matter if I kept playing along with her, after all, no one was looking at me except for the weird pony in front of me, if I had a job here, I should at least try to do it nicely. "How are you today?"

The pink pony let out a small giggle, maintaining her french accent for some reason. "Well, I am quite well, thank you for asking." She moved quickly, hiding in the cloth on the table, towards the rocks, did the same thing that with the bag of flour, but with a lower voice, imitating a colt, I suppose. "Hey you colt, don't get silly ideas with Madam Le Flour!"

"I'm not, sir." Why would I even try, in the first place? "May I ask your name as well, sir?"

"Yes. My name is Rocky, and quit the 'sir'." The pink pony went to her seat again, like if I didn't notice her. "Well, to put it simple..." She pointed her hooves towards the clump of lint and the bucket of turnips which were placed next to an empty chair. "That is Sir Lintsalot and that is Mr. Turnip." She smiled at me and had a small eye twitch.

"Well... umm..." The awkwardness of every object having names finnally got me. "H-hello?"

The pink pony moved towards the bucket and talked a bit slow. "Don't be shy! We won't hurt you!" Then she went to the clump of lint. And talked in a sophisticated accent, not like the flour, but... something sophisticated. "Do not fear of us. We're friendly! Take a seat, stranger." The pony went back to her seat. I decided to take a seat as well, like the clump of flint said.

"What is your name... pink pony?" The pony looked at me awkwardly, and then smiled, her eye twitching again.

"Oh, how silly I am. My name is Pinkamena Diane Pie, but my friends here..." She smiled at the inanimate objects around her. "Call me Pinkie sometimes."

"Really? I really like Pinkamena, do you mind if I call you like that?" Trying to make conversation. How much awkward minutes have passed since I entered the house? Twenty?

"No, I really don't mind. I actually like it!" She smiled again, this time, not twitching her eye. "And what's your name, unicorn?"

"My name... is Cobalt Thunder, though I'm not blue colored in any way, and I don't know any electricity spells. But it's a long story." Well, that had to do with my name, better tell her where I come from. "I used to live in Canterlot, but let's say my parents didn't want me to stay with them and I came here. But I have a house here, which my uncles used to own before they moved with my parents..."

"Well, that's a nice story, Cobalt!" She quickly moved towards the bag of flour. "And your name is nice, no matter if it doesn't have a reason to have it." Then towards the clump of flint. "And I see your Cutie Mark is exactly like your name. But we'll leave that story for sometime else, right?"

"Right." I said as I saw Pinkamena from under the table, moving the clump. "What are you doing?" I asked to her. She quickly moved to her chair.

"Doing what? I was just looking." Okay, this pony is definitely crazy. "Maybe you're seeing things." She smiled again, with a twitch. She moved to the rocks again, and talked in the same low voice. "Hey, maybe we should change places. You must feel awkward with those two guys over there."

My space was okay, but probably I would find myself better next to something alive. "Okay then." Pinkamena grabbed the rocks, with the chair, and started walking past me. I carried my chair as well. This whole thing was pretty weird. Completely weird. When I got to the place where I had to sit, I found Pinkamena already on her seat.

"Do you want some tea?" The pink pony asked. "Some cupcakes, muffins?" I didn't know what to say, what if the tea was just imaginary, and the cupcakes where horrible? Well, I couldn't just figure it out without saying anything, so I nodded. The mare gave me a muffin, and filled the teacup in front of me with tea. Well, at least it looked real. I took a sip at the tea, it was, surprisingly, sweet, I took another one and burned my toungue, I had that thing when drinking something hot, but it didn't matter, it was delicious. "Oh, did you burn your toungue, silly?"

"Yea, kinda." I took another sip of the tea, a smaller one, to not burn my mouth again. "So... what is the party for?" I just remembered this was supposed to be a party.

"Oh, it's just a little party I decided to do." The pink pony moved towards the bag. "We were going to have more visitors, but they're just assholes." The pink pony returned to her normal position, and looked at the bag. "That's not proper, Madam Le Flour." She quickly moved to the rocks. "Well, I think that is very, very proper. If not super-proper." She then moved to the bucket, which hasn't talked since Pinkamena "introduced" me to it. "Well, maybe not that much, but they're still idiots." She started moving the clump of flint. "Idiots, idiots." Pinkie moved to her seat and put on a sad face. "Well, maybe they're idiots, but-"
She, still with the sad look on her face, went to the bag. "Idiots, idiots!" Then to the rocks. "Idiots, idiots!" It was weird, since she was moving the things. Kind of disturbing, if you ask me. I had to say something to stop her.

"Stop!" I yelled. She was just about to move the bucket. She went for the rocks instead.

"And who do you think you are to yell at us that loud?" I backed off, I knew it was stupid to try and argue with unliving things. Pinkamena moved the bucket of turnips towards the rocks, careful not to make them fall. "Wait, Rocky. He's right. We should probably tell him about what happened." I was confused. But I decided to ask.

"What happened?" Pinkie was already on her seat, and looking at me, sad.

"Well, let's just say... they kind of dumped me." She went quickly to the bag. "Dumped you? Dear, they treated you like trash." Then to the bucket. "Let Pinkie talk for once, Le Flour" Then back to her seat. I kind of looked at her half sad-half nervously.

"Dumped you? What did they do?" I asked, in the most calming voice I could ever do.

"I invited them to a party. They didn't want to come and... well... they lied to me. They're hiding something, but I don't know what it is... they don't want to come to my parties. They don't want to be with me, I'm completely alone." She looked down, and I could swear I saw a small tear coming from her eyes. However, she cleaned her face and smiled at her other "friends". "But at least I have you guys!" She went to the rocks. "Yea, Pinkie. You have us!" Then to the clump. "Don't fear, we will never leave you!"

I decided to talk to the unliving things, for a change. Just so the rocks don't attack me or something. "So... who're these ponies you speak of?"

Pinkamena went to the bucket. "First of all, there's Twilight." She quickly went to the flour. "Oh, that girl. Let this be the last time we talk about her." She returned to the bucket. "She's a magical pony, also known as unicorn." I looked up, at my horn. "But don't worry, she's different than you. She just goes everywhere and tries to keep them in order or something. She's very sensible about those things."

Twilight Sparkle... I heard her name somewhere in Canterlot. She was something like Princess Celestia's best student, she wasn't really that famous, she was just... a common topic between my family, who has some ponies in the royalty. "Any other pony?"

This time, the bag of flour talked. "Well, continuing... There's also that other unicorn, who almost copies my style." Pinkamena laughed under the table, still in her french accent. "She models and does clothes, she loves fashion. But you wouldn't believe how whiney she is!" Pinkamena moved to the rocks. "She whines about everything possible!"

My family is whiney, so I kind of understand what she feels. "Yes, I suppose that is... really horrible, to stand people like that."

"It is" The rocks said. Pinkamena moved to the bucket. "Then there's the pegasi. Starting with Fluttershy, she's a very shy girl. But she can't do anything by herself! She's normally pushed around, even by her own pet bunny!" I found that really funny to imagine. I let out a silent giggle. "We can stand her, but it's really annoying sometimes." Pinkamena moved to the clump of lint now, who hardly ever talked. "Then there's the farmer. Applejack. She's an orange pony-"

"-with a pig-tail, freckles, a brown hat, and a blonde mane?" I completed. So the pony I saw before was really a friend, huh?

"Yes. We really don't have anything to say about her, unless you want to point out that she wants to do everything by herself. Which isn't a bad thing, I mean, anything that doesn't involve us!" Kind of rude, if I had an opinion. Pinkamena now went for the bag of flour. "Then there's Rainbow Dash..."

"Yes?" A voice interrupted, which was coming from the door. A blue pegasus, with a rainbow mane stood there. She flew towards the table, she was kind of angry, and she landed on top of the table, dropping the tea. She was facing the bag of flour. "You were talking about me, pal?" Madam Le Flour looked pretty decided to keep talking, even if she had this pegasus right in front of her. I had to save her somehow.

"You must be Rainbow Dash." She faced me, and kind of looked puzzled, like trying to recognize me.

"Are you the one Applejack sent to keep Pinkie busy?" She asked. "You must be, your work is done, you can go now. Leave it all to me!"

This pegasus looked far more annoying than any other pony that the inanimate objects AKA Pinkamena told me about. "How do you expect me to leave it all to you if you're arguing with a bag of flour?"

The pegasus looked at me quite annoyed, then looked at the bag of flour, the inanimate and unmoving bag of flour and blushed a bit. Then shook her head. "Okay Pinkie, we're heading out now!"

Pinkamena got out of the table, sat on her seat, and crossed her arms. "I'm not going! I'm having fun with my friends here!"

"Pinkie!" The pegasus started dragging the pink pony, but the pink pony rejected, she tried moving the other objects, but she couldn't. I decided to do something, so I moved the rocks with magic, with chair and all, simple levitation spell, but hard to do because it was kind of heavy, the rocks attacked the pegasus. "Hey! Leave me alone!" I kept moving the rocks towards the pegasus, hitting her kinda, until she let go of Pinkamena. "You got a problem with me, pal?" And then she grabbed the rocks and started hitting them, like if they would feel any pain. Pinkamena began crawling under the table, and hid in there. When the pegasus stopped hitting the rocks, she looked for Pinkamena, but didn't find her. "Dang, she got away." She then looked at me. "Did you see where she went?"

"No, but she's crazy, you should really go look for her." Of course I was lying, the pegasus looked like it would hit Pinkamena if she didn't obey. The pegasus rolled her eyes and went out of the house.

Pinkamena went out of the table and looked at me. "Why did you do that?" She didn't even care to move the objects anymore, it looked like if she was getting out of her weird attitude, and I faintly noticed that her coat and mane turned a bit brighter.

"I didn't like the rainbow pegasus, besides, she killed Rocky." Just to be sure if she was still there. She moved towards the rocks and stared at them, with a sad look on her face.

"Poor Rocky..." I walked next to her, it was an imaginary friend, but it was a friend. She then smiled a bit. "But he'll be okay, he's just sleeping." She turned towards the other objects. "Okay friends, you stay here and tell me if Rainbow Dash comes back again, if she comes, tell her I went to Sweet Apple Acres." She then pounced towards the bag of flour and talked one last time in the french accent. "But Pinkie, where will you go?" And then came back to where she was before. "We'll just have a walk somewhere. We promise not to take too long!" With that, she headed towards the door and waited for me to go outside. I kind of waved goodbye to the objects and walked next to Pinkamena.

We walked for a while, in complete silence, every other pony just stared at us, like if we were new ponies, I didn't like that, I really dislike attention. I broke the awkward silence. "So that pegasus is your friend?"

"Oh, not anymore, she has always been like that, and I kind of was with her because she went to my parties and, well, I thought she liked me as a friend, but then she started hiding me the fact that she disliked me." Pinkamena gave a sad look, while she looked down, she seemed to be pretty serious about this, I even felt sadness for her. Feeling sadness for someone you just met is something that's not very common, or so I think. Her smile came back before saying something else. "However, I have my other friends, and well... you, kind of." She smiled awkwardly at me, expecting to hear something from me.

"If you really think we're friends... I guess it's okay." I really expected we were anyways.

"Say, do you have a place to go here in Ponyville?" She asked. "Or were you just passing by and ended up in all this whole incident?" I actually had a house, if you all remember, I didn't talk about it, it was from an uncle, but he's sort of changing from place to place, since he can buy a lot of houses, he just lend me the one in Ponyville.

"I got a place to go, I suppose. Why? Are you inviting me to your place?" I giggled a bit, but stopped since the pony was blushing a bit, was she inviting me to her place?

"Just... if you didn't have a place to go. You know, since we didn't really eat much in the whole party, I had planned to like... cook you dinner or something. You might take it as a thanks for saving me from Rainbow a while ago." Well, if she was offering her place... "However, since you have a house already, you won't need mine, am I right?" Well, that's true, besides, I would prefer to sleep on my new home in the first day of my arrival. "So how about just a dinner at my house? I don't only bake, you know." She gave a confident smile at me.

"If you really feel like it, I guess I'll accept. But why did we came here in the first place?" We were no longer at the Central Square, more like a park, Pinkamena just smiled at me and went to sit by a tree, waiting for me to sit next to her, however, being the awkward pony I am when it comes to these things, I sat on the other side, the tree separating us, she didn't seem to care much.

"We came here to see the sunset, you didn't notice it, didn't you?" She was right, I didn't notice it was this late. "I decided to come here to hide from Rainbow, the tree won't allow her to see us, so we're safe until night falls." Well, that's nice.

"You're still taking me to dinner, right?"

"It will just be a Thank You Dinner, it won't be anything special."

"I was just making sure..." I closed my eyes, not to sleep, just because I wanted to close them. "So what about your ex-friends? That rainbow pegasus didn't seem to know you weren't her friend anymore."

"Well, I still have to tell them, but they'll know eventually. Besides, why do you care about them anyways?" She looked at me like saying 'seriously?', with her face, but I just gave her a smile.

"I just wondered, so they aren't your friends anymore?" I asked, not looking at her.

"They aren't..." She was silent for a while, I looked at her and saw a sad look on her face, as in she was returning to reality... "But now there's my only, most loyal friends, Rocky, Madam Le Flour, Lintsalot, and Mr Turnip!" Well, I was kind of sure she was going back anyways. "And of course, you, Cobalt!" It took me a while to process what she just said, when my mind finnally processed what she said, a small blush appeared on my cheeks, and I was also surprised.

"M-me?" I just didn't find it really... believable, I'm just the most anti-social pony ever, or so I knew. Maybe this is why my parents brought me here? Because on Canterlot I didn't like anyone as a friend? "Well..." Come on, think of something... "I was a bit worried I wasn't your friend after what happened." Well, it was something...

Pinkamena could just giggle. "Of course you are! Maybe not as much as like... Rocky, but you're still considered a friend!" She was actually happier... I felt a small, warm feeling in my heart... Is this how having a friend feels?

"Well... let's just go back, it's getting dark..." The sun was set and the brightness of the day was gone. A small light could be noticed from a near lamp post, who just turned on.

"You just want to eat dinner, right?" She giggled another time. I noticed her giggle was really high, not really that high as to annoy... just high as in... well, kind of cute. "Well, to be fair, I am hungry as well." She stood and began walking, I decided to do the same and hurry to her side, not really close, of course. "So what do you want to eat for dinner?"

However, somewhere else, located in a nearby apple farm.

"Dang, how much will Rainbow take?" A orangeish pony asked, just as she said that, a cyan pegasus with a multicolor mane entered by the door of the barn.

"She's nowhere to be found! She's lost!" The pegasus yelled, angrily. "I don't have time to look for her!"

"Rainbow, calm down. I'm sure Pinkie won't forget her birthday, she can't forget it! It's her birthday, for Celestia's sake!" A purple unicorn said from the bottom of the room, she had a small cup of apple juice, empty, at her side. "Are you sure you looked for her?"

"Yes! I'm sure! I searched for every little inch of Ponyville from air, nowhere! She's nowhere!" The cyan pegasus yelled, yet again. She then took a deep breath. "Well, I actually did found her... but she escaped to pony-knows-where!"

A small, yellow pegasus with a pink mane entered, silently, through the room, hoping that no one had noticed her. The orange pony looked at her. "Hey Fluttershy, how did'ya go with the searching?" The yellow pegasus was startled at the question, but then negated with her head.

"I... I didn't found them e-either..." The pegasus looked somewhere else.

"Them?" The other pegasus asked.

"I- I mean, her!" It was obvious she already said it.

"Who's them?" The orangish pony asked, calmly.

"Pinkie is with someone else?!" The pegasus asked, yelling. The purple unicorn rolled her eyes and threw the cup at the blue pegasus, with magic. "Hey!"

"Rainbow, calm down, Fluttershy will tell us, you're just making her feel more nervous!" The unicorn crossed her hooves. "Now come over here, take a seat, and listen to Fluttershy!"

"G-girls, don't fight." The yellow pegasus muttered.

The blue pegasus headed towards a nearby couch and sat, her hooves crossed as well, the purple unicorn just stared at her for a while and looked at the yellow pegasus again. "So Fluttershy, what do you know?" Asked the unicorn.

The yellow pegasus just nodded and started talking. "Pinkie looked pretty changed, but it was her, she had her hair straightened, instead of all fluffy and cotton candy like. She looked a bit more darker in her colors too, she was also-" The cyan pegasus stood up.

"Get to the point!" She yelled. The purple unicorn stood as well and made the pegasus sit, then sat again.

"Continue, Fluttershy." The purple unicorn calmly said.

"O-okay. She was with a brown unicorn, she seemed to have fun with him, so I didn't want to bother them..." The yellow pegasus looked to the floor. "I- I'm sorry..."

"It's alright, sugarcube." The orange pony said. "We'll go an' talk with 'er tomorrow." She looked at the whole inside of the barn. It was completely filled with balloons, some of them were even popped and lying on the floor, with no air. There was even a cake in the center, which was eaten already, since no one could wait any more for Pinkie. They were waiting for Rainbow, but after a while, they decided to just look for her and tell her about another birthday party for her, maybe next week. "Too bad all we did today was for nothing, though"

"It's all that stupid unicorn's fault!" The pegasus jumped from her seat. "I just can't believe he, a pony that just came in Ponyville, had lied to the best flyer in whole Equestria!" The pegasus began yelling.

"Well, maybe I should've asked someone else to help." The orange pony muttered, the cyan pegasus quickly headed in front of her, facing her.

"You're right! This is your fault!"

"No it's not!" The orange pony got angry as well, if that pegasus was going to yell at her, she should yell at her too! The yellow pegasus let out a small, very silent scream upon sensing a long fight coming, however, it was then completely silenced by another yelling.

"Girls, girls, stop!" The purple unicorn separated the two ponies, to avoid them from fighting, making them float in the air. "We won't get anything if we fight like this! Tomorrow we're going to talk with Pinkie Pie to make her realize what she did today!" The unicorn was breathing angrily, but she calmed herself after a while, still holding the pegasus and the earth pony in the air. "I'm not sure what Pinkie was thinking, but if we don't know, then we can't get anywhere."

The pegasus looked around the room, still floating in the air. "Hey, where's Rarity?"

"Rarity said she had some dresses to make for tomorrow." The orange pony answered. "And that she didn't want to waste any time waiting for someone who wasn't even going to come. That was like a hour ago or so. Seems like she was right after all." The unicorn let go of the two ponies.

"Well, all of you, go to your houses and stay away from Pinkie's. If she didn't want to come with us, it must be for a reason, it might even be our fault! So don't get her any more angry!" The unicorn said. "Especially you, Rainbow Dash!"

"Who? Me? I didn't do anything! I just kind of want to drag her here! It's her fault for not cooperating!"

"Wait, so you mean she didn't want to come? Why didn't you tell us that?" The unicorn yelled. "That could've saved us a lot of time!"

"Well, d'uh. I had to bring her here, remember!?" The cyan pegasus yelled louder.

"Girls." The other pegasus muttered.

"But if you had told us, we could've all looked for Pinkie, and maybe, found her!" The unicorn kept yelling.

"Girls..." The yellow pegasus muttered a bit louder, but not much.

"Well, I give you that, but who would've taken care of the cake and the party?"

"Girls, girls." The orange pony looked at the pegasus, the poor thing was doing her best to gain attention and stop the fight.

"I don't know, that became the least of our worries two hours ago!"

"Girls!" The farmer yelled, her yelling could be heard all the way to the Cutie Mark Crusaders base. All the ponies looked at the orange one. "It's no use if we keep fighting, remember? Let's just head home and call it a day. Calm yourselves down and maybe, just maybe, we can earn Pinkie's trust yet again." The orange pony went and opened the barn door. "Now, all of you, go!" And so, the cyan pegasus rolled her eyes and went away to her house in the clouds. Followed by the unicorn, who stopped just before heading outside and then, she turned her head to the earth pony.

"Thank you Applejack... I guess I'll head home now." With that, the unicorn headed outside, she was followed by the other pegasus, but the orange pony closed the door before the pegasus even put a hoof outside.

"Wait a bit there, Shy." The pegasus backed off in fear. "Can I ask you a favor?" The pegasus nodded. "Can you make sure that neither Dash and Twilight enter Pinkie's house?"

"Why?" The pegasus asked, it was kind of weird that she asked for such a thing.

"If one of them enters there, I'm not sure if Pinkie will allow it, she seemed to have a bad day today. I want to know why, but that has to wait. However, Twilight and Rainbow seem to be a bit stubborn about knowing this. I know it's a bit too much, but it's just a favor I'm asking." She opened the door of the barn after saying this.

"Don't worry, Applejack, I'll do my best." With that, she headed towards the house.

The orange pony sighed. "Well... I guess tomorrow we will know about this..."

I rushed through the door, making a slam sound. Both ponies were there, I could just yell "What are you two doing?!"

Well, maybe that's no proper way to start this... I know, maybe if I go a bit in the past, when I first knew about them?

It all started that night, I had left Sweet Apple Acres an hour ago by then, I suppose you already know that place, it's really no big deal if you don't, but I guess it's pretty rare to live in Ponyville and not know that place. I guess I might be going a bit off topic, so I'll just head to the point. I headed back to the farm, since I actually didn't get any job for that night. When I got there, I saw a familiar, yellow body, of which I could only see the flank as it entered the barn, I could recognize that slow, silent way of flying anywhere, I headed towards the door, and decided to look inside, there was something interesting there.

"She had her hair straightened, instead of all fluffy and cotton candy like." That sounded strangely familiar to me. I saw inside of the barn, and I saw the yellow pegasus with pink mane, Fluttershy, talking about something, I should be paying attention to it.

"Get to the point!" A cyan pegasus yelled from the other side of the room. That was Rainbow Dash, she was a very impatient pony, and she sort of believes she's famous and important sometimes, but she's a good pony. Fluttershy could just silently mumble something, everypony in the room, except maybe for Rainbow, could notice she was completely scared or nervous.

"She was with a brown unicorn, she seemed to have fun with him, so I didn't want to bother them..." Hmm, a brown unicorn. Unicorns in Ponyville aren't necessarily rare, but they aren't as common as earth ponies, and in my life I've known a brown unicorn, or maybe I did, but I really didn't remember. A sudden yell, coming from the bottom of the barn, woke me up from my thoughts, what was that?

"Wait, so you mean she didn't want to come? Why didn't you tell us that?" They began arguing, huh. I decided to head home back again. It seemed that fluffy mane didn't come here after all, well, to be fair, fluffy mane looked good on her, yes it could look 'better', maybe if it was a bit brushed from one side, or maybe both, or maybe less swirls, or more? Wasn't Fluttershy talking about a mare with dark pink mane? She also mentioned fluffy, cotton-candy like mane, could be that she brushed her own mane? Why would Pinkie do that? Perhaps it was the brown unicorn she also mentioned?

As I kept thinking about it, my hooves were slightly turning to Ponyville Square, which was near Pinkie's house.

Could it be that Pinkie finnally found a special somepony? It could be, but with somepony we didn't know? Could it be that Pinkie was hiding this from us? Why?

My hooves began to trot faster, to the point where I almost bump into another pony without noticing.

Why would Pinkie hide something like that from us? Is it that her special somepony is somepony mean or something like that? Does he have a horrible secret nopony must know? Is he a sadist? A transgender? Lots of ideas flowed from my mind, and, as the ideas kept multiplying, I was hurrying more and more, subconsciously. What could Pinkie be hiding?

Meanwhile, some time in the past...

We got to Pinkamena's house, it was strangely close to the center of the village, not many ponies seemed to like her. Maybe she had more friends, apart from Madam Le Flour and the rest of the inanimate objects, and of course, her ex-friends, like the rainbow pegasus. I looked at Pinkamena, who didn't open the door that was just in front of her. She just stared at it, slightly twitching. "Is something wrong?" I asked.

Pinkamena didn't answer, and just opened the door. What we saw gave me a weird feeling, I could say it was sadness, but that wasn't right, or at least, not completely, maybe a bit of anger, or even some happiness, since I thought the whole "Crazy pony talking with things" was kind of over. On the floor there was an opened bag of flour; the flour that was inside of it was all around the floor, making a kind of big pile of flour in the center of the room, there were also some turnips on the floor as well, there was also an empty bucket, and a bunch of rocks, scattered around the room. I looked at Pinkamena, she shed a small tear, it was clear she felt something, they gave her some kind of company, some sort of feeling of... friendship, a very weird one, indeed, but it somehow work. To feel completely alone... that is a horrible feeling. Pinkamena was definitely a weird pony, but she was nice, this wasn't her fault. I decided to pat her back, just so she wouldn't feel lonely, our friendship might have been really fast and short, but as a friend, I felt it was my job to at least try to make her feel better, however, she turned and hugged me, still crying for her "dead" friends, I could just nervously put my hooves around her.

In that exact moment, I didn't think about Pinkamena as a weird, crazy, and possibly dangerous pony, instead, I thought of her as a solitary, misunderstood pony, maybe even depressed.

However, somewhere not so far from there, in fact, some meters away, a white unicorn galloped towards that exact location.

Ponyville Square, I took my time to catch my breath, all that running isn't good for a lady like me, maybe just to keep my figure, but obviously not to see if Pinkie's relationship changed suddenly and without us knowing... well, maybe it was important and all, but if I had an option, I wouldn't have come. I regained my breath and walked to the entrance of her house, I prepared myself to confront these two ponies, who may or may not be together.

I rushed through the door, making a slam sound. Both ponies were there, I could just yell "What are you two doing?!"

The pony that looked like Pinkie didn't seem to let go of the unicorn, but however, the unicorn turned and looked at me, a gentle blush on his cheeks, perhaps this was the one they were talking about? Pinkie stopped hugging this unicorn, and then stared at me, with deadly, bloodthirsty eyes, okay, she was just really angry, I was just about to talk about it, but she got a bit calmer and talked before I could even mutter a word. "What do you want, Rarity?" Her voice wasn't the cheery one I used to know, but a serious, kind of angry voice. I got a bit scared, to say the truth.

"I just want to know what you're doing with your... coltfriend" I decided to be direct. Pinkie blushed a bit, but then she took a step forward and looked angrier than before. "I'm sorry, is he not your coltfriend yet? And what's with all this mess? Were you baking something for him?" I was expecting a response from her, but she just growled at me. That's when I noticed that something was definitely wrong with her. I got scared, this wasn't "our" Pinkie, this was a different one.

"Rarity, old friend." Her voice lacked any positive emotion, did I hurt her somehow? "Why don't we talk about this outside?" I got nervous, in fact, I think the other unicorn was nervous as well, even he knew Pinkie is not supposed to feel like this, however, even if I was nervous, I had to fix it, so I nodded, and walked outside.

Pinkie came outside just after me, I decided to wait until she said something, she closed the door behind her and calmed down, I guess this was my fault, and I made her angry. "Say, Rarity, how would you feel if your friends, the ones you're so fond of, treated you like trash?" Did I really hurt her that much? I had to answer somehow.

"Pinkie, I'm sorry, really. I didn't mean to." I started crying, I was just joking, gosh!

"I don't care if you think I'm interested in Cobalt in any way." Cobalt? Was he the unicorn that was hugging her just a while ago? "What do I care for is that YOU came all the way here to laugh at me!"

"I didn't want to do it! I... I'm sorry!" I tried doing my best to apologize, however, Pinkie was looking the same, she wasn't the element of Laughter anymore.

"It would be the best if you just left, you know, the last thing I need is somepony like you." I decided to leave, then. However, as soon as I turned, she said something else. "Goodbye forever, please, Rarity." That was the end, I guess, I headed towards my house, with my face still soaked in tears, not even a flash of rainbow in the sky could cheer me up.

And going back to the inside of the pink pony's house.

Pinkamena went outside with her old friend, or so it seemed. I decided to begin cleaning the mess in her house, because, now that the other unicorn mentioned it, it WAS a mess, cleaning the flour would take some time, so I began by, first, getting rid of the rocks, then putting the turnips in the bucket. I suddenly remembered that slow, funny voice that Pinkamena gave to "him". I began imitating it, just for fun. "Oh, Pinkamena, your hair looks really nice today." Okay, that wasn't so Mr. Turnip at all, maybe something that goes with the moment? "I... I only saw a bright, rainbowish glitter light... It happened so fast..." I coughed a bit, that voice was a bit tiring, I was also a bit thirsty, I hadn't drunk anything since the moment I left the train station.

An energetic, kind of happy voice suddenly appeared behind me, as a door opened. "Mr Turnip!" Pinkamena hurried to the bucket and hugged it. "You're alive!" She twitched her left eye, I was starting to miss that twitch, to say the truth, but it was still scary. "Mr... Mr. Turnip?"

Oh right, I guess it was my time to move them now, I moved the bucket with magic as I talked slowly and awkwardly, kind of weak too. "Pinkamena Diane Pie... these might be my last moments, I know I won't make it..."

"N-no, you can't die, Mr. Turnip, you're not supposed to die!" Pinkamena's eyes started to fill with tears. I quickly moved the bucket near her face, in an attempt to clean them. I couldn't help but feel my eyes as if they were just going to drown in tears the moment I say another word, or even opening my mouth, I breathed a bit, to calm the feeling and avoid crying from happening. Pinkamena just stared at the bucket, waiting for an answer.

I finnally moved the bucket again. "I'm sorry Pinkie, but my time, just like the others', is over. I just want you to promise us you won't cry for us, live your life." Kind of hard to find comforting words for someoneyou just met, but it seemed to help a bit, since Pinkamena hugged the bucket, as I let go of it.

"I will never forget you, Mr. Bucket." In a matter of seconds, the weird, sad scene became a tender, happy, yet still weird, moment. Pinkamena closed her eyes, and then cleaned them, putting the bucket on the floor, I got close the her, but she held a hoof in the air, as if stopping me, and opened her eyes, which were still into tears. She looked around at the mess before talking. "I'll clean this place tomorrow morning, I hope you don't mind it very much." She nervously giggled, and headed towards the kitchen.

Pinkamena was really sad, that could be noticed a mile away, but she was doing her best to not break into tears. I decided to start cleaning, I mean, I didn't have anything to do, and besides, what Pinkamena needs less is having to clean in the morning. I noticed a broom in the corner, might as well start by the floor. I began taking out all the flour on the floor, I just hope I clean most of it, though.

However, the flashing light of rainbow saw me, and it got quickly near me, as the flash of rainbow dissappeared, it showed a cyan pegasus, Rainbow Dash. "What's wrong, Rarity?" Dash said. I was looking horrible, I suppose, I would have prefered her not to have noticed me. She was flying behind me.

I decided to just ignore her and enter home, lay on my couch and close my eyes, to relax. I wanted to stand up after a while, since I got thirsty, however, I felt as something heavy kept me from getting off the couch.

"Heh, Opal, you wanted to be petted?" I tried finding her head, but I couldn't find it with my eyes closed, where was her lovely fur? I thought I brushed it this morning, "Aha!" I found a kind of messy hair somewhere, as I began petting it, I noticed it was over me, but I didn't feel her fur over my face.

"Rarity, umm... you know this might not be the time." A familiar voice speaked. I opened my eyes and I saw the rainbow colored mane pegasus, right on top of me, blushing madly, kind of staring at me with anger, but at the same time, with surprise, and of course, my right hoof caressing her mane. I blushed as well, and to say the truth, her mane was pretty soft, even if it was a bit messy, it looked really clean. I got my face close to it, it smelled really nice too, kind of like a mix of nature, some humidity, and... what I think is her shampoo, which smelled like vanilla and strawberries, a weird combination, but on her, it was almost perfect. I couldn't think of a logical way for her to keep that smell all day long, with all the wind, the flying, the exercise she must do, since she looked like she kept her figure... totally charming.

As I snapped out of it, Rainbow Dash backed off as well, if she wasn't really bad a while ago, she definitely was now, and of course. I suppose I was blushing as much as her. "Rarity... what was that?" she asked in a faint voice she has never used before.

"It was... I noticed your hair was a bit messy." That wasn't a lie, it was messy.

"Well d'uh, flying, clouds, crappy weather..." I knew she wasn't buying it, but she wasn't going to get me to say the truth. She decided to just stand there, blushing. "So... why were you running and crying an'... stuff?" Oh right, I had almost forgotten about that.

"Oh well..." Tears were beggining to reappear in my eyes. "Pinkie was really mad at me, I think I insulted her." I couldn't stop crying.

"Oh, her?" She made a 'yuck' face. "You don't know how MUCH I had to deal with her." She made a pause, but then her eyes brightened, as if she just had and idea or realized something. "Wait, you talked to her?! Where?" The moment she said that, her wings began flapping, and her body started to float in the air, she seemed happy, but angry at the same time. I got out of my couch to get some water.

"Well, she's at her house, I guess... Ah!" She flew through the living room, trying not to break anything, but she ended up breaking a vase. It wasn't really valuable anyways.

"Sorry, Rarity!"

As I began flying through the air, I was thinking.

What was going on with Pinkie? Well, I already know that, kind of. But should I tell everypony about it? I think it would be important, but... I promised not to mention it, and I think it wouldn't matter much. I got to Ponyville Square, and landed, slowly. My pink mane moved as the wind blew, the place looked completely empty. To say the truth, it was scary. I slowly walked towards Pinkie's house, and just stood there, decided to do as Applejack said, and avoid anyone from entering.

Some time passed, it was really dark, I yawned and closed my eyes. How much have I been guarding here? I guess Twilight was already asleep, I wasn't sure about Dashie yet. I opened my eyes and found that I accidentally fell backwards and opened the door. The brown unicorn I saw before, when he was with Pinkie, stared at me, I quickly stood up. "I- I'm sorry. I must've bumped through the door" That wasn't really a good excuse, but the unicorn didn't seem to care.

"Well, it's alright." He had a really low voice, but also pretty quiet and calm. Not as much as mine, of course. It was at least calmer than everything that has been happening around me.

"Is Pinkie home?" I asked, he looked up, then to the door of the kitchen, and then back at me, before answering.

"No, Pinkamena is not here. Who was looking for her?"

"Me, Fluttershy." I decided to leave, however, as soon as I got to the door, I heard a happy voice.

"Dinner is... ready..." The happy voice stopped being happy, and became serious. "Fluttershy?" I knew who's voice was it. I turned and saw Pinkie, but like she was before, her coat and mane were darker in color, her mane was straightened, and her expression wasn't the happy one she normally has when I visit.

"Hello Pinkie." I said, nervously. Pinkie growled at me, what was wrong with her? "I... I was leaving already... e-excuse me..." I turned and headed outside, the door was still open.

"... Wait." I stopped, but I didn't turn to face her. "If you're going with the rest, tell them I said 'I hope you die in a glue factory.'" I nodded, a small tear appearing in my eyes. I heard a sigh. "Well, not you. If you want, I can invite you to next week's party."

"No, thanks. I'm fine." I closed the door, and I stood there, again.

"Don't you think you were a bit harsh?" The unicorn said, from the inside of the house.

"She deserved it. Do you want something to drink?" Her voice was slowly calming down.

"Umm... lemonade would be nice."

"Okey-dokey-lokey!" Her voice was back to normal, her happy voice. I heard a door opening and then some steps, which were... heading towards me?

I heard a knock. "I know you're there, yellow pegasus." I got out of the way, the brown unicorn opened the door and came outside, closing the door behind him. At first, I thought he was going to yell at me, however, his expression was too sad for him to yell. I wanted to say something, but he interrupted me. "I'm sorry for Pinkamena's attitude a while ago, if you want a glass of lemonade or something, just tell me." Well, nothing to fear, it seemed.

"I am okay, don't worry." I let out a sigh of relief. "Well, if it's not much of a bother, and if you have the time, I'd like a glass of lemonade." I decided to not say anything about guarding Pinkie's home. The unicorn nodded, then looked at the sky and stared at it, scared. "What's wrong?"

"I'll tell you what's wrong." A voice behind me said. I got scared and looked behind me, trying to see what it was. I got scared upon noticing what it was, or well, who it was.

As the cyan pegasus descended, I noticed her expression wasn't very friendly-like, my voice couldn't make a sound until she was already on the floor. "R-rainbow!"

Chapter 3

View Online

The rainbow pegasus, whose name, if I’m not mistaken, was Rainbow Dash, descended towards the ground, really slow, as if to threaten me or try to make me run. If she was planning to make me feel scared, it worked. I was so scared that I couldn’t even move, and the yellow pegasus in front of me was also scared, trembling. Only a miracle could save us right now…

And surprisingly, a miracle did end up happening.

A white unicorn, with a purple mane, appeared right in front of us, and threw some sort of spell, which made the pegasus apparently fall to the floor, unconscious, or so I thought, because she began snoring. To say the truth, her snore resembled the sound an Ursa Minor would make. I didn’t even know that there was such thing as a sleep spell. I thought they were forbidden since they were really easy spells, which gave the user a great advantage.

“Oh, I threw the spell too strong,” said the unicorn. She had a really elegant voice. If I remember correctly, Madam Le Flour talked about somepony copying her style, this must be the pony she was talking about, I realized.

“Excuse me, Miss.” I said, trying to be as polite as I could be, despite the fact that I was still scared. “But may I ask your name?”

“Oh, mine?” she asked, turning towards me, a bit surprised. “I’m Rarity, owner of Carousel Boutique. However, I have no time for introductions at the moment. I need to bring Rainbow here to my house so you two can be safe.”

“Wait a minute, Rarity,” muttered the yellow pegasus. Surprisingly, the unicorn heard her. “How did you know that we were in trouble?”

“Well…” The unicorn named Rarity just turned towards the yellow pegasus, but did not look at her. “You could say I told her where Pinkie was, and Rainbow Dash just decided to fly after I told her that. I supposed that she was going to try finding her. By the way, are you the unicorn who was with Pinkie? Cobalt, right?” she asked me.

“Umm…” I believe I was blushing in that moment, but I’m not sure. “Yes? I’m extremely sorry about what I might have caused with me being with Pinkamena… though I’m still wondering, what did you all do to her?” I decided to ask that, since two of her friends were present. Well, they were actually three, but one of them was sleeping.

“Well, you saw how I acted when I came back here earlier,” said Rarity, with a sad look on her face. Well, she does have a point, I thought.

“I think what he means, Rarity, is if we did something bad to Pinkie, for her to be this way,” said the pegasus. “I don’t believe any of us did something like that. Don’t you know why is she acting like this?”

“Well… no, I don’t know. But she mentioned something about you not coming to her parties anymore, and then you leaving her.” The two mares looked at me, confused. “What? Is something wrong?”

“Well, it’s just that we didn’t do any of those things…” said Rarity. “Unless you’re talking about today. We were going to make a surprise party for her, but she wanted us to come to her pet’s party, so we had to decline.” I found this quite difficult to believe, to say the truth.

“Pinkamena doesn’t want to talk to any of you today anyways.” The two mares lowered their heads. “But maybe tomorrow you’ll be able to talk to her?” The two girls’ smiles appeared on their faces. It made me felt a bit guilty because I didn’t want to tell them the whole story.

“Well, I must take my leave then,” said Rarity. “Fluttershy, what were you doing here? Did you decide to come and attack Rainbow Dash as well?” The mare that I believe was Fluttershy was surprised that she pointed this out. I wanted to point it out as well, but I thought that she was just visiting.

“Oh no, I was just… doing something around here…” Rarity raised an eyebrow. It seemed like she wasn’t buying it, however, I did believe her, somehow. I then remembered I had to be with Pinkamena, because she will not be happy to know that I was not there.

“I’m sorry, I need to enter. Excuse me.” And with that, I entered, closing the door behind me.

And it was then when I noticed Fluttershy was nervous.

“Fluttershy,” I said, with the calmest of voices possible. “I can understand that you might or might not be following Pinkamena because you know that it’s the best if you know she’s okay, but you heard the unicorn, she doesn’t want to see us until tomorrow.” I picked up Rainbow Dash, she was actually pretty heavy.

“Well, without Rainbow Dash here, I’m sure I’ll be able to leave now.” She yawned, showing that she was actually really tired of being there. “I’ll just return home. I’m sure Pinkie will be okay.” And with that, she lifted off.

I walked towards my home, carrying Rainbow Dash. I had decided to think about what happened today. If I’m not mistaken, I began, so far Pinkie thinks that we left her because we declined to go to one of her parties. And now she feels alone and she accepted this guy as his companion while she is sad. That seemed to be it, or at least, what I understood.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll have an opportunity to talk to her, if she is home by tomorrow, that is…

When I entered the living room, I could not see Pinkamena at all.

“Cobalt! Where are you?” I heard, from another room. And just as I heard that, I saw Pinkamena entering the room I was currently in. “Oh, there you are!” she said enthusiastically. “Where were you? I thought you had already went home, and left me here with all the dinner.”

“I had to take care of some things.” I answered. “It seems your friends want to talk to you tomorrow,” I added. Pinkamena didn’t look surprised in the slightest, she just kept looking happy.

“It’s alright, it’s not like I will be here tomorrow,” she said, walking towards the kitchen. “By the way, dinner is ready, including the drinks.” I supposed she would say something like that. “Are you coming, or do you have to go right now?”

I shook my head. “No, I have plenty of time left to go to my house, besides, there’s free food.” I smiled, and Pinkie giggled, then we both got to the dining room.

It was a small room, which was actually the kitchen, but with a table and two chairs in the middle of it. There were two plates served each one with a slice of a cake that was in the middle of the table, and two glasses of lemonade. It didn’t look like a fancy, elegant dinner, which was actually pretty good. If I could put it in words, I guess I’d call it a simple dinner, with a friend. We began eating, after sitting on the chairs.

“So, Cobalt, how did it go with my ex friends?” she asked, after swallowing one piece of cake.

“Well…” I thought of telling her about that Rainbow Dash, or about the surprise party that they were going to make for Pinkamena, however, I felt it was not necessary anyways, since Pinkamena was not going to be home. “It was a bit awkward, but I guess it was okay.”

“Did they talk badly about me?” I raised an eyebrow; she seemed to be asking this in the most serious way possible. “Did they?”

“They actually didn’t say anything about you. I think they were pretty worried.” I explained. Pinkamena didn’t seem to believe this, so I tried changing subject. “But let’s not talk about them now, okay? Let’s just eat and talk about ourselves a bit, now that we have some privacy and calm over here.” Pinkamena sighed.

“I was born in a rock farm,” she began. As far as I knew, rocks couldn’t be harvested, but I suppose you can collect rocks to send it to ponies who need them, however, the concept of a rock farm was still really weird. “I was the black sheep of my family, or, more specifically, the pink sheep.”

“I hear you.” Pinkamena stared at me. “I mean, not the pink one but…” Pinkamena began giggling. “Hey! Don’t laugh at me! I was trying to explain that!”

“I’m sorry, I imagined you with a pink mane, like mine,” she laughed. “Or a sheep, a pink sheep.” I smiled awkwardly, and waited until she stopped giggling. “Okay, what were you saying?”

“I was saying that I felt like the black sheep of my family. Everyone is so polite and sociable, and while I try to be as polite as possible, and I think I’ve succeeded at least to be accepted by my family, they still think I’m not as sociable as them, and that I should try to socialize with other ponies.”

“Well, you’ve talked to me, I guess that’s a start,” she commented. “But I wasn’t talking about something like that, or at least, not in the beginning.” Okay, this was interesting, so I stopped eating to listen to her. I didn’t eat much of the cake anyways. “In the beginning, I was just as gloomy as my sisters and my parents, however, one of those days, I saw a rainbow. It was the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen, and I had to share that feeling with the rest of my family, and that’s when the problems began happening.”

“Problems? What happened exactly?”

“I prepared my first party; my family seemed to like it. We had fun, we had our distractions… but perhaps, too much distractions…” Pinkamena ate some of her cake before continuing. “My family liked the parties I made, and that made them happy, however, it made me feel busy and stressed. Way too busy to help at the farm, and way too stressed to actually try to do some work. Eventually, my family ended up getting so little money that they had to send one of us to get a job so the rest of the family can live decently… since I was the only one that did not work on the farm, because of preparing party after party, I was the chosen one.”

“Wow, so you were kicked out of your house without any kind of job, or any kind of safety that made you feel at least sure about what you were doing?” She nodded, and I felt really bad again. I got up and got close to her. “Hey, at least you’re not alone anymore…” I was planning to hug her, but she just pushed me.

“Not now, but…” she mumbled. “Before… when I was living a lie, with my ‘friends’…”

“Pinkamena… I just want you to know that-“ She put a hoof over my mouth.

“Don’t talk, just promise me that you’ll never leave me, no matter what… that’s all I need right now, a promise. If you can keep it or not, I don’t care at the moment. I just want to be sure that somepony is actually my friend, at least for a moment.” She then moved her hoof away from my mouth.

“I won’t promise. I will assure you that, if I ever lose you as a friend, I will try to get your friendship back, in any way I know.” That was a bit funny, since I have never got to the point of doing that for a friend, because I hardly made durable relationships with anypony. “If you ever need me, I’ll be there for you.”

It was then when I suddenly felt somepony hugging me. It was obviously Pinkamena. I put my arms around her, to hug her as well, and I felt a warm feeling in my heart, yet again. When we finally let the other go, Pinkamena just looked to my eyes and then went to her chair again, to continue eating.

We didn’t really say anything until we were done with our slices of cake. I must say that this was the dinner were I ate less, but on the other hoof, I actually accomplished something positive, so I can’t really say something bad about this.

Once we were both done, we got up, and then I walked towards the door. “Well, Pinkamena, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow.” I asked, turning to her. She nodded, smiling. “I will take my leave then. It was a nice dinner.”

“Remember it was only a Thank You Dinner, nothing else!” What she said was, somehow, reassuring.

Once I was outside, I noticed that the yellow pegasus was already gone, which was good, since I had forgotten she was waiting for that lemonade. I decided to walk towards my home, or at least, where I think my home was. It was a small house, located close to the Central Square of Ponyville. When I got there, I noticed that the house had a sign, which was engraved in something that looked like gold, but I’m sure it wasn’t gold. The engraving just said “Thunder”, so I suppose it was my new home. I tried opening it, and, obviously, it was closed. My uncle said that, until he gets the keys of the house, he’ll let me use a lock pick spell on the door, so he taught me one. I performed the spell, and it worked correctly. To say the truth, it wasn’t a hard spell.

Upon entering, I noticed it didn’t have much. From where I was, I could see that the kitchen just had a fridge and a stove, and when I walked upstairs, there was just the bathroom, and a room with a bed. I supposed this was going to be my new room.

After exploring the house a bit more, I ended up finding a notebook, and a pencil. When I opened the notebook, I noticed that this was my uncle’s journal, which didn’t really have much, just information about the places he has been visiting. I decided to tear some pages, and use one of the last ones, to write about what happened today, in case I needed to remember it, some day.

“Today I began writing this Journal, without any apparent reason. This is my first day staying in Ponyville, and so far, it has been great.

This day, I met one of the weirdest, and yet friendliest of ponies. Her name is Pinkamena Diane Pie, but some of her friends call her Pinkie, if I’m not mistaken. It’s funny to think that, when I met her, she was to me just a weird pony, who talked to inanimate objects, however, even I talked to those objects as well, so I have no right to say that such thing is bad, because it would also affect me. I learnt today that those inanimate objects were just a way for her to talk to something, and think that she had friends. Even if this was somehow funny, I couldn’t help but find it sad and really worrying.

With the time, I ended up knowing that she had broken her friendship with her now ex-friends, and it was one of the best decisions of her life, considering I had the honor to meet one of them, whose name was Rainbow Dash, who also destroyed her inanimate objects. Even if this helped her realize that she was living in the real world, I couldn’t help but feel empathy for her, in some sort of way.

At the end of the day, all I could think about was that I did a good job at trying to act like a friend; in fact, I believe I am now her only friend, who she trusts the most, and that, somehow, makes me happy. I also got free food, even if that’s not really important, but it is good as well, since there was nothing on the fridge, as far as I know.

With this, I end this Journal entry, hoping that tomorrow starts another day.
~Cobalt.”

I let out a yawn. I had written a lot, but reading it somehow made me happy. It was getting late, so I really had to sleep anyways. I closed my new journal, and placed it under the bed, before turning off the lights, lying on my new bed, and finally, closing my eyes so I could sleep peacefully.

It has been an hour, and Rainbow Dash has yet to wake up.

She is lying on my bed, and she is still sleeping. I’ve been thinking about what has happened with Pinkie, and so far I just came to the conclusion that she doesn’t want to be our friend anymore. I can see why Rainbow Dash was so angry with her, and was possibly about to break in, and possibly slap Pinkie into reality, even though that would possibly not help at all. She was scared, like the rest of us. Scared to lose her friend, scared to lose her forever, and not being able to talk to her again. I know how their relationship is, and it is a strange relationship, but it somehow works out.

It is getting late, and I should probably sleep, however, since Rainbow Dash is using my bed, I will have to sleep in the couch, or wake her up. I decide to poke her, to see if she is going to wake up soon, and, surprisingly, she does wake up. She sits on the bed, her eyes pretty tired, and looks at me.

“Rarity, what happened?” she wondered, yawning. I decide to tell Rainbow the truth, partially.

“I believe that Pinkie is having a bad day, but has accepted to talk to us tomorrow, that is, if you don’t visit her to do whatever you want to do with her.” Rainbow just glares at me, with tiredness and annoyance on her eyes. “What’s wrong? Did you want to talk to her?”

“It’s just that… well, Pinkie is acting extremely weird, and I could just go and tell her about what she is doing wrong, and she’ll possibly understand. I’m just trying to do the right thing here. She can’t get all mad with us just because she found a new friend, and that she is having a bad day.” If I knew Rainbow correctly, this was hurting her more than it seemed. “In fact, I think it doesn’t even make sense. If she met somepony else, she would at least introduce him to us, even though he won’t get to be a real part of our group.”

“Maybe she is trying to keep him away from us for some reason.”

“But what will that achieve in the end?” There was silence after that. Both me and Rainbow Dash were trying to think an answer for that question. “It seems you don’t know either… well, you said that we will talk to her tomorrow, didn’t you?” I nodded. “Well then, I suppose that we will know tomorrow…”

“Yes, I sure hope so.” Rainbow Dash began walking towards the main door, and I followed her. As she was about to leap and fly towards her home, she suddenly stopped, and turned to me. “What’s wrong?” I asked.

“I just wanted you to know that what happened when you were crying was a mistake from my part, and that it shouldn’t be taken seriously, understood?” Oh right, that.

“Of course, I know it was a mistake because I was the one who touched your soft mane, remember?” Rainbow Dash blushed, but looked towards the sky. “I was just joking. You just go and sleep well, okay?”

“Will do. Thanks, Rarity.” And with that, Rainbow flew into the air, leaving a small trail of rainbow in front of my door.

After closing my door, I headed to my room. Tomorrow was going to be an important day, however, I really did not know if it was going to end up well or badly. I will have to accept whatever happens tomorrow, since it’s going to be Pinkie’s decision.

After that, I lied on my bed, and covered myself with my blankets, falling asleep afterwards.
