The unnamed filly has been living a slave by her parents. Her mother (Ocean Rise a blue earth pony with a yellow mane) and her father (Cloudy Day a brown Pegasus with a grey mane) both high-class Canterlot ponies never wanted a foal and locked her up for years under the floorboards, only to let her out to clean.
They only fed her when after they were finished and gave her their leftover scraps and clean after. They always had to lock her up again when ever there were guests. She was able to understand what some words meant over time when she ether would be punished and beat or not, but never learned to speak through that time.
"Get up!" Her mother said yelling above the door where she lived. Removing the carpet that covered it and unlocking to let the filly out to start working. "Get out!", her mother kicked her in the face. "Faster!" She yelled. having to go through this every day for years she got use to it, but was still always afraid of them.
Her parents left to go to a party. They always liked having scented candles to cover up whenever they let her out.
Only they forgot to blow one out before leaving and was left by a window. All the windows had curtains and the candle caused the house to catch fire.
The filly didn't know what was happening and was trying to stay conscious.
The fire ponies were alerted and rushed to put it out. Princess Twilight also arrived to help.
Once the fire was put out the fire ponies and Princess Twilight went in to try to find out what caused it. Having all that heat from the fire and water, the floorboard covering the filly's "room" was weakened. One of the fire ponies hooves fell through. Pulling it out he saw her. "Hey! Over here!" He called to the others. "And bring an axe!" He said.
Pulling her out, other ponies saw her for the first time. She was filthy, an extremely skinny grey earth pony with a white mane. He checked her pulse. "She's breathing." He said calmly but nervously.
After arriving at the hospital, Twilight gave the filly to the doctors and nurses working. They gave the filly oxygen and were washing her.
After the party, her parents got home to find that there was a fire. One of the fire ponies told them that they found a filly and is at the hospital.
Twilight was in the waiting room when they arrived. The hospital doors opened. "Oh! Ocean Rise, Cloudy Day." Twilight said calling to them.
"We just heard and came as fast as we could. Did you really find a filly under our house?" They said worryingly. Lying directly to the princess. "Is she alright?" They asked.
"I don't know." Twilight replied. "They haven't told me."
The filly was lying on the hospital bed. She was starting to wake up. Her eyes were looking around nervously clenching herself. One of the nurses came in and the filly didn't know who that was, where she was and what was happening. The nurse tried to talk to her but she just kept looking away scared with her eyes clenched shut.
The nurse came to the waiting room where Twilight and her parents were at. "Princess Twilight." She called her name.
Twilight's ears perked and she got up. "How is she? Is she alright?" Twilight asked.
"Well, she's awake." Twilight let go of a breath she didn't know she was holding. "But." Twilight looked worryingly. "She seems to be very scared, and I don't know if she should be having visitors." The nurse said.
"Please, I want to see how she is doing." Twilight asked beggingly.
"Okay Princess. The filly is down here." The nurse leading Twilight and her parents to the room.
"This is her room, but I think only one of you should probably go in there." The nurse said.
"Do you mind?" Twilight asking the parents.
"Of course not Princess." Cloudy Day answered.
Twilight opened the door slowly to try not to scare her. The filly slid back, shaking in fear. "Um, hi." Twilight said not knowing what to do. "My name is Twilight."
The filly was looking away in fear.
Twilight walked slowly closer to the bed. She lowered her head to the filly's eye level. Twilight, trying to calm the filly, gently lifted the filly's chin up with her wing.
The filly opened her blue eyes slowly looking at Twilight. "You have beautiful eyes." Twilight said in a calm voice.
The filly turned her head to the door and saw her parents. Getting scared she slid off the other side of the bed and crawled underneath it to hide.
Twilight looked noticing that she left the door opened. Twilight went to the door and asked If she could have some more privacy.
"Of course." They answered.
Twilight shut the door and walked to the other side of the bed and looked underneath to try and get her to come out. "Shhh. Their gone. It's alright to come out, it's safe. Your not in any danger. No pony is going to hurt you." Twilight said in a calming voice.
The filly looked at Twilight and looked at the door. She didn't see them and was coming out on the other side of the bed. The filly had an Iv attached, so Twilight was using her magic to pull the filly out the way she went in. The filly didn't know what was happening. Having never encountered magic before, she started to panic.
Twilight placed her back on the bed and tried to get her to relax. "Shhh, calm down, calm down. Just relax. Shhh." Twilight was able to get her to relax. She asked the filly a few questions. "What's your name?" … "How do you feel?" … "Where do you live?" … "How did you get in that house?" … "Did you live there?" … "How long have you been there?" … "Did you start that fire?" All Twilight was getting were nervous stares from the filly.
Twilight decided to leave her for now. "Okay, I'll let you rest for now." Twilight left the room.
"Well is she alright Princess?" Ocean Rise asked.
"She's okay for now, but I don't think she should be having any more visitors today. You should probably get a hotel." Twilight said, reminding them their house is gone.
"Oh, we forgot. Thank you Princess." They said.
"We need to take care of her before anything worse. How did that brat even start that fire, she was locked up?" Ocean Rise whispered to her husband.
"Relax dear. What could she do? She can't tell anypony, she doesn't know how to speak." Cloudy Day replied.
"She started that fire. And just because she can't speak doesn't mean shit! She knows what work we want her to do she understands, at least some or else she gets punished. We can't take any chances."
The filly was lying in the hospital. It's been 2 days sense Twilight's visit. The only ponies that came by were doctors and nurses. The filly was always nervous when they did. They always asked how she was feeling, but she never answered.
Twilight came by with another pony today. “Okay, let me go in first and talk to her for a bit, then I’ll let you know when to come in.” Twilight knocked on the door.
The filly got scared.
Twilight slowly opened it and walked in closing the door gently. The filly calmed down a bit when she saw who it was.
“Hi. Remember me?” Twilight asked. The filly shook her head up and down. “Okay, can I sit?” Twilight asked pointing at the chair next to the bed.
The filly just looked at it back and forth between Twilight and the chair, but didn’t answer. Twilight slowly walked to the chair and sat down. The filly was sliding away from it the closer Twilight came, but didn’t hide under it.
“How do you feel today?” Twilight asked. “Can you talk?” The filly was just looking at her. “Talk?” Twilight asked, moving her hoof from her mouth away. The filly started to copy Twilight’s movements. Twilight chuckled seeing that.
Twilight brought out a paper with a quill and ink hoping that she would be able to write. “Can you write your name?” The filly was confused what Twilight wanted. She took the quill but tried to eat it.
Twilight took the quill back, not wanting it to be damaged, but in doing so she caused the filly to pull away quivering in fear that Twilight might hurt her. Twilight leaned over to massage her back. "Shhh, don't worry. I didn't mean to scare you." The filly started to relax again.
"I have a bit of good news." Twilight said still rubbing her back. "your getting out of the hospital today." Twilight said. "I also brought a friend. Would you like to meet her?"
The filly didn't respond.
Twilight opened the door with her magic to let her friend inside. The filly looked curling up with Twilight trying to keep her relaxed. Twilight's friend was a gold color unicorn with a purple mane. "Hi, I'm Sunshine Velvet." she said, introducing herself to the filly.
"Sunshine Velvet is one of the caretakers for the Canterlot Orphanage." Twilight said. "She will be taking care of you there."
Twilight was keeping the filly calm while the nurse unplugged her from the machines. The filly was hiding under Twilight while leaving the hospital.
She never saw what the hospital looked like outside of her room, but that was nothing compared to when they left.
It was so bright, the filly didn't know what that was. When her eyes adjusted, there were so many ponies everywhere. She has never been outside before, nor seen so many ponies.
Twilight asked, "It's almost 1:00, do you want to get lunch?"
Sunshine replied. "Of course. And how about you?' Asking the filly. The filly didn't answer, but they did here a growl coming from her. "I'll take that as a yes." Sunshine Velvet said.
They left to get lunch. The filly was trying to stay hidden under Twilight. Twilight and Sunshine got to the restaurant and sat down on a booth. The filly didn't sit with them, she was hiding under the table.
When the food came the filly didn't come out. Twilight took the food she ordered for the filly and gave it to her under the table. The filly started to eat slowly and Twilight smiled.
After finishing and paying, they left the restaurant and headed to the orphanage. When they got there, they saw her partner, Ruby Summer a red earth pony with a blue mane playing with the orphans. "Hey, Ruby!" Sunshine called out.
"Hey, Sunshine, Princess Twilight!" she called back. "Keep playing, I'll be back." She said to the orphans. Running over to Sunshine and Twilight. "Hey." She said, trying to catch her breath.
Looking down, under Twilight was the filly hold on one of her legs. "Is this the filly that's going to be staying with us?" Asked Ruby.
"Yes." Answered Twilight.
Moving down to get closer, the filly moved back now holding on one of Twilight's back legs and keeping her eyes shut.
"Hi, I'm Ruby." The filly didn't look. Ruby went back up, frowning. "Is she okay?' She asked with a sad tone in her voice.
"I'm not sure, I hope so." Sunshine answered, also sounding sad.
"Why don't we have her go play with the other foals." Ruby asked, cheerfully. Twilight, Sunshine, Ruby and the filly walked over to where the other foals were playing, the filly still hiding underneath Twilight.
"Alright everypony, this is …" Sunshine realizing the filly doesn't have a name.
"Filly!" Twilight blurted, trying to help.
"Yes, Filly. That's her name, Filly. Now Filly is going to be living with us, and I hope you are kind to your new sister." One of the cults walked up extending his hoof and introducing him self. He was getting to close, and Filly ran inside hiding in the first room she saw.
The mares ran after her but the foals just stood there before they started playing again. The mares found Filly hiding in the broom closet. "Oh. there you are." Ruby said, while panting. "Is everything alright." She asked, calmly. Filly moved back against the back of the closet. "Please come out." Sunshine said, while extending her hoof. Filly flinched, and Sunshine pulled back, frowning.
Looking at the other two. "Alright, come out whenever your ready." Filly turned to look at them. "Your room is the first door on the second floor. We'll let you know when dinner is." They walked out of the closet and shut the door gently.
"I'm sorry, but I need to go. Are you going to be alright?" Twilight asked.
"Yes." Sunshine said, sadly.
"We'll be fine." Ruby said, also sounding sad. "I just can't say the same about Filly." She said.
A few hours went by when Filly fell asleep. She heard a light knocking on the closet door that woke her up and startled her. "Um, Filly, dinner is ready if you want." Sunshine said, behind the door. "We'd like you to join us." She said. "Alright … We'll be waiting." Leaving Filly in the closet.
Filly didn't come out for dinner. After dinner, Sunshine sighed. Walking over to the closet, Sunshine knocked, scaring Filly. "I brought you dinner." Sunshine said. "Can I give it to you?" She asked. Opening the door gently she went in carrying the food with her magic. Placing the food down near Filly, she came out from the shadows and started to eat. "Please come out tomorrow for breakfast, I know the other cults and fillies would like to meet you." She asked, pleadingly before leaving.
It was 7:00 A.M. when Filly was awoken by a knocking at her door. "Filly, dear, It's time to get up, breakfast is ready." Ruby said. Filly didn't leave though.
There was a knocking on the front door and Ruby went to get it. Opening it, there were 2 ponies standing there. "Ocean Rise, Cloudy Day!" Ruby said cheerfully, hugging both of them. "Why are you here?" She asked.
"yes, well. We were hoping that the filly that recently got out of the hospital, that we could possibly adopt her?" They asked. "We even have a new special room ready for her." Ocean Rise said, sarcastically yet convincingly.
Ruby lead them to the closet. "She's in here." Ruby said. She knocked on the door. "Filly, there some ponies that are here to see you." Filly didn't move until she saw who it was. Trying to runaway, she turned around and ran slamming into the back wall of the closet.
Ruby was the only pony who reacted. She lifted Filly up cradling her in her hooves. "I don't think she's ready to be adopted yet. She still needs to get use to other ponies." Ruby said.
Ocean Rise and Cloudy Day left angry that they couldn't get her yet. Ruby stayed with Filly until she fell asleep. Ruby carried her to Filly's room on the second floor. Filly slept through the rest of the day.
Filly woke up the next day. It was 2:00 in the after noon. Filly didn't recognize this place. Where was she? She started to panic. She heard a voice she recognized. It was Sunshine Velvet, but she was talking to somepony she didn't recognize the voice of. Filly started to move, leaning against the back of the bed.
Sunshine and the other pony stopped talking. "Did you hear something?" The other pony said, putting a hoof to her ear to try and listen again.
"I think Filly might be awake now." Sunshine said. They walked to Filly's room. Sunshine opened the door and went inside, shortly followed by the other pony. "Hey." Sunshine said, cheerfully. Filly followed Sunshine as she walked by the bed and sat down next to it.
Filly turned her head to see the pony Sunshine was with. She was a white earth pony with a pink mane.
"Filly." Sunshine said. Filly turned to look at her. "This is Snow Lotus." Filly turned again to look at the new pony. "She's a home school teacher. She's going to help you with speaking. Is that okay?" Sunshine asked. Filly nodded. "Good." Sunshine said while taking a breath. "Now I'm going to be downstairs getting you breakfast or lunch." Sunshine said while questioning which it is. "Is it alright that I leave Snow Lotus alone here with you?" Sunshine asked.
Sunshine started to leave. "Go slow with her and be careful, she's shy and gets scared easily." Sunshine whispered to Snow. Snow saw a small table in the room. She pushed it over next to the bed. Filly moved away from it. Snow Lotus sat down on the other side of the table.
She took a board out of her saddlebags and placed it on the table. It had capital letters, lower case letters and numbers on it. Snow placed a hoof on the capital A. "AAAAAA." She said dragging out the letter. Filly just looked at the table and back at her. "AAAAAA." She repeated, trying to get Filly to copy her. "AAAAAA." She said again.
Filly lifted her hoof and placed it on the capital A, but didn't say anything. She was looking at Snow Lotus with a blank expression.
"AAAAAA." Snow Lotus said, trying to get Filly to repeat her. Filly looked down at the board and then up again at Snow. She opened her mouth. "a-a-a-AAAA." She said with a stutter.
"Good, very good." Snow said, happily smiling at her. "Now." Pointing at the lower case a. "aaaaaa." Filly opened again to copy the sounds Snow was making when Sunshine came back with a breakfast tray and pancakes. "Sunshine, you just missed her speak." Snow said, excitingly.
"Really!" She said, while placing the tray and the pancakes on the bed. Sunshine and Snow were excited.
"Okay, lets do the first one again. AAAAAA." Snow said
"a-a-a-AAAAA." said Filly.
"Wow, that's so good Filly, your doing so well." Sunshine exclaimed. "Now, I'm going to let you continue." Sunshine left, letting Filly eat and continue working. They continued until it was time for dinner. They only made it to the capital E when Snow Lotus left.
Filly still stayed in her room, not going down for dinner.
A week went by and Filly had finished the board and was starting to learn how to put letters together to create words. "M-y n-a-m-e I-s S-n-o-w L-o-t-u-s. W-h-a-t I-s y-o-u-r n-a-m-e?" Snow Lotus said, separating each letter with the board.
"I-I-I-m F-F- FFF-i-l-l-l-y." She said, using the board and still with a stutter.
It was getting late and Snow Lotus had to leave, but before she had a gift for her. "Filly, I want to give you something for how well you've been doing." She gave Filly a book.
"A d-d-dic-c-c-ctionar-r-r-ry?" She stuttered.
"Yes it has may words in it that will help you pronounce things better and learn the meaning." Snow answered.
"Th-th-thank y-y-you." Filly thanking for the gift.
The next day, Snow Lotus was called as a substitute teacher and couldn't see Filly, Sunshine Velvet went to the school to talk to the principle about having Filly to start going there, Ruby Summer was at the grocery store shopping for food and all the other orphans were in school. Filly was all alone.
Filly heard a noise downstairs thinking it was one of them, until she heard the voices. "Make it look real Dear, we need to make this look like a robbery." Cloudy Day said.
"I know, but we need to find that, that … gerrrrr." Ocean Rise said, angrily. "I'm going upstairs to keep looking. You stay here and keep trashing the place." She said.
Filly was hiding under her bed listening the closer her mother came to her room. Filly just learned to speak, but right now she couldn't make a sound. Filly heard her mother enter her room, searching for her. Ocean Rise finally found her hiding. Flipping over the bed, Filly was paralyzed with fear. She couldn't run or scream, she was frozen, unable to move, completely at her mother's mercy.
Ocean took the garbage bag she had with her and wrapped Filly up in it. Filly tried to scream again but couldn't. "I've got her, let's go!" She called to her husband.
"Good." he answered. They ran away back to their new house carrying their foalnapped daughter. Filly didn't know where they were taking her, but she knew it wasn't good. She found out when they poured her out in a small cement hole. She could barely move. She saw 2 pipes until they put a cement lid on, and sealing it with wet cement and tiles, finishing the look of the bathroom.
The 2 pipes were attached to the toilet and sink. Cloudy day went first using the toilet and flushing it having it pore on her face and body with piss, and washing his hooves with hot water, having it burn Filly when it went down. It was mostly the same with Ocean Rise, only she shit and used cold water freezing Filly and having her face covered in shit. Ocean Rise leaned over the sink. "Better get use to that Dear." She said evilly. "Because that's all your ever going to get to eat and drink for the rest of your pathetic miserable existence."
Ruby Summer came back from the grocery store. She saw that the door was opened and thought Sunshine Velvet was back. Walking in, she dropped her bags when she saw that there was a robbery. She ran upstairs to Filly's room calling her name. Filly's room was also a mess. She checked the other rooms looking for Filly but not finding her.
Sunshine arrived shortly after. Seeing the bags, she called their names. "Ruby! Filly!" Ruby ran downstairs hearing her name called. Ruby and Sunshine ran to each other.
Panting nervously Ruby asked "Have you seen Filly?"
Sunshine answered, "No."
"I can't find her anywhere." Ruby said, still panting. "We should get the police." She said.
"I'll tell Princess Twilight, you tell the police." Sunshine said.
After school the police were still at the orphanage. Twilight, Spike, Ruby, Sunshine, and the orphans went out searching for Filly but found nothing.
It's been a week and all Filly had to eat and drink was from the toilet and sink. Everypony was still out searching for her. Ruby went to her friends house asking if they saw her, not knowing they were the ponies who foalnapped her.
They invited her in for tea. Ruby went to use the bathroom. When she went to wash her hooves, she thought she heard a coughing sound coming from the sink. Getting suspicious, she didn't wash her hooves. Ocean Rise and Cloudy Day were outside the bathroom waiting. "I think you forgot to wash your hooves Dear." Ocean said.
"Oh, sorry. I forgot." Ruby said. Going back inside and closing the door. Ruby wasn't sure if what she heard was what she heard. After washing, she listened closely to the sink. She definitely heard coughing.
Ocean Rise and Cloudy Day told Ruby they had to leave in two days for a conference in Manehattan.
After Ocean Rise and Cloudy Day left for Manehattan, Ruby had a plan. "Sunshine." Ruby called to her.
"Yah." She answered, walking up to Ruby.
"Anything that happens can you promise to take care of the foals?"
"Yes, but what do you mean?" She asked, not knowing what Ruby was talking about.
"Just promise me. Please." Ruby asked again needing to make sure.
"Yes, of course I will. But what's going on?" Sunshine asked, worried about her friend.
"It doesn't matter now. I need to go." Ruby left, with Sunshine trying to figure out what she was talking about. Ruby went to the hardware store to buy an axe and a pick axe. After buying them she went to Ocean Rise and Cloudy Day's house.
She knew the house had a security system, and was only a matter of time before the police arrived. Breaking the door down with the axe, and rushing to the bath room she used the pick axe to break the floor. She was able to make a hole when the police arrived to arrest her.
One of them noticed the hole and looked inside to find Filly. "Hey, there's a pony down here!" He called. After having to use the pick axe to make the hole big enough, they grabbed Filly and pulled her out. They took her to the hospital.
The police told Twilight and Sunshine that Filly is at the hospital, and that Ruby has been arrested. Sunshine went to the hospital to see if Filly is okay, while Twilight went to the police station to talk to Ruby.
Ruby told Twilight how she found Filly and that it was Ocean Rise and Cloudy Day who took her. Twilight placed an arrest order to Manehattan on Ocean Rise and Cloudy Day.
At the hospital, Sunshine was still waiting to see Filly. She was being cleaned for being covered in water, pee and poop for over a week. After she was clean, Sunshine went inside to see her. "Hi Filly." Filly turned her head to look. "How are you feeling?" Sunshine asked. Filly turned her head back to stare at the ceiling. Sunshine was getting worried and sat next to her. Filly looked at her again, but then went back to stare at the ceiling.
In Manehattan, Ocean Rise was walking down the side walk when she was interrupted by a police pony. "Mrs. Ocean Rise?" He asked, assertively.
"Yes." She answered, questioning why he's here.
"Your under arrest."
Ocean Rise ran, after he said that.
He chased after her catching up quickly and tackling her to the ground. After reading her her rights, he took her back to the police station where Cloudy Day had already been arrested.
"I need to contact my lawyer!" She cried out.
"Don't worry I already spoke to him." said Cloudy Day.
They were taken back to Canterlot to face trial. Ruby's trial was on the same day.
Ruby was found guilty on "Breaking and Entering" and "Property Damage", but because of the fact she rescued Filly, she was given a lighter sentence of 2 years and a fine of 500 Bits.
Ocean Rise and Cloudy Day were found guilty on "Breaking and Entering", "Property Damage", "Foalnapping", "Foal Abuse" and "Resisting Arrest". They were sentenced to 38 years in prison and a fine of 157,000 Bits.
Filly was getting out of the hospital today. She hasn't said a word sense Ruby found her. Sunshine and Filly arrived at the orphanage.
When Sunshine opened the door. "SURPRISE!"
Filly didn't react. She took a cupcake, sat in a corner and stared eating it.
Pinkie Pie bounced up. "Hey, aren't you happy, weren't you surprised?" Pinkie asked, frowning. "it's okay, you don't have to join the party. Friends can't make friends do things they don't want to."
The party was still going, but the energy was gone.
The next day was Filly's first day of school. Being the new pony in school, she was picked on and bullied, but she didn't say or do anything to stop them.
The next morning, after breakfast Filly was heading upstairs to her room. "Filly where are you going, you need to go to school?" Sunshine asked.
"N-N-No!" Filly yelled being the first word she said sense Ruby rescued her.
"But you need to go to school." Sunshine said.
"N-No!" Filly yelled again.
"F-F-Friends can't m-make friends d-d-do things they d-don't want to." Filly said, quoting Pinkie Pie, before running upstairs and locking her door.
Sunshine sighed. "Maybe she'll feel better tomorrow." She said, taking to herself.
Later that night when everypony was asleep, Filly took the map of Canterlot she had so she wouldn't get lost and snuck out.
She used the map to fine the train station. Filly was waiting for a train to arrive. When she saw one coming she walked on to the tracks, waiting.
The conductor on duty saw this and ran to save her. Just in time he got her off before the train hit her. "What were you doing?" He asked, why she would do this.
"G-G-Get of m-me!" She cried.
He saw the map she had, the Canterlot Orphanage had a circle around it.
Arriving there he knocked on the door, waking the ponies inside. Sunshine told everpony to go back to bed. When she opened the door, she saw the conductor pony with Filly.
"Filly?" She asked, surprised.
She brought Filly back to her room and the conductor told her what happened before heading back.
The next morning, Filly didn't come out of her room. Sunshine left to tell Twilight what happened last night. "Did that really happen?" Twilight asked.
"Yes, she really tried to kill herself. Before the conductor saved her. Please, do you know any really good therapists at all?" She asked, beggingly.
"Maybe." Twilight said. "Spike, send a note to Fluttershy and Starlight that we need them here in Canterlot, fast."
"Okay, I'm on it." Spike answered, with a salute.
In Ponyville, a letter appeared to Starlight. Reading it she ran out of her office looking for Sunburst. "Sunburst, Twilight needs me in Canterlot. Can you handle the school?" Starlight asked, being in a rush.
"Sure, but what's wrong?" He asked.
"I don't know. All I know is that me and Fluttershy need to get to Canterlot." She said, before running off. Going through the front doors of the school, Starlight and Fluttershy were about to run into each other.
"Oh, Starlight I-" Starlight cut her off. Starlight teleported them in front of Canterlot Castle, when Twilight almost walked into them.
"AH!" Twilight screamed.
"Sorry Twilight. What's the emergency?" Starlight said.
Twilight was still panting. "Somepony needs your help. I'll tell you on the way." Twilight said, while heading to the orphanage with Starlight, Fluttershy, Spike, Pinkie and Sunshine.
"That's awful." Fluttershy said, after listening.
They went up to Filly's room. Twilight knocked, but there was no answer. Twilight opened the door. Filly was lying in in her bed, staring at the ceiling.
"Hi Filly." Twilight said.
Filly didn't respond.
"I brought some of my friends hoping that they might be able to help you."
The orphans were awoken by a scream from downstairs. "what's going on?" One of them asked.
"Just, go back in your rooms and stay there until I tell you you can come out!" Sunshine yelled.
"Are we in trouble?" Another one asked.
"Just go back in your rooms. Please." She said more calmly this time.
Sunshine ran to the castle as fast as possible. "Princess! Princess! Princess Twilight, where are you?" She kept repeating before running into Starlight.
"Sunshine? What is it?" Starlight asked.
Sunshine was trying to breath. "It's Filly." She said.
"What's wrong?" Starlight asked worryingly.
Sunshine just lowered her head.
Starlight frowned. "I'll take you to her." Starlight said, sadly. Starlight teleported them, as well as Spike, Pinkie and Fluttershy to Twilight's location.
"Hah?" They all said, confused, not knowing what just happened.
"Hah? Starlight, Sunshine, ... Sunshine, what's wrong?" Twilight asked, with everypony tuning to look at her.
Sunshine was looking down, tears pouring from her eyes. Starlight put a hoof on her shoulder. Sunshine looked up, still crying. "It's Filly. She's... she's..."
"Spike, tell the police we need them at the orphanage... with a coroner." Twilight said. She teleported them all outside the orphanage. "You don't have to go in if you don't want to." Twilight said.
Sunshine, Starlight and Twilight went inside, Pinkie was staying outside with Fluttershy and Spike was waiting for the police and the coroner.
The three mares inside wanted to look away from the site in front of them. A filly they tried to help, bleeding from the neck and holding a bloody knife in her hoof.
They don't know how long they where just staring, until their attention was taken away when the police arrived. Twilight looked back at her, and then was heading back outside. Starlight and Sunshine followed shortly after.
Some of the police went inside and others were interviewing the five mares and Spike.
The coroner was wrapping Filly up in a body bag to take her to the morgue. Everypony was crying when they brought her out.
When the police left, everypony went inside. There was a pool of blood in the kitchen. Fluttershy couldn't look, she was sitting, facing away while everypony else was cleaning. Sunshine was looking at the spot where she was and started crying again. Twilight grabbed her, giving her a gentle hug. "I'll pay for the funeral." Twilight said.
Sunshine looked up and sniffed. "What?" She asked.
"I'll pay for the funeral." Twilight repeated.
The hug continued for several minutes, until she was interrupted by one of the orphans asking if she can come out yet. "Yes, you can come out now." Sunshine said.
"You should go Princess. These foals are hungry, and it's almost lunch. And thank you." She said, still crying, but trying to hide it.
Twilight went to visit Ruby Summer. "Ms. Summer, you have a visitor." A guard called out to her.
"Princess Twilight? I wasn't expecting it to be you." She said, cheerfully. Twilight frowned. "Princess, what's wrong?" Ruby asked.
"I'm sorry I have to tell you this but… Filly... is gone." Twilight said with a sad tone in her voice.
"What? How?" She asked and started crying. "With a knife." Twilight answered.
"You mean...?"
"Yes." Twilight nodded. "I arranged a deal so you can attend her funeral."
"Thank you, Princess. I just hope wherever she is now, she's happy." Said Ruby.
The day of the funeral, Twilight Sparkle, Ruby Summer, Sunshine Velvet, Snow Lotus, Pinkie Pie, Spike, Starlight Glimmer, Fluttershy and all the orphans attended.
"Her happy days, have come to an end." Twilight thought to herself, paraphrasing something another pony said in the past. Before she remembered something Ruby said. "I just hope wherever she is now, she's happy."
Twilight didn't know what to think, she couldn't think, all she could think about was Filly.
Hours have past and ponies were starting to leave. Everypony couldn't help but cry their entire way home, while Ruby was escorted back to prison, tears rolling down her face.
As time past things got easier and almost things got back to normal, but truly... Things will never be normal, not after everything that happened with them, and a pony named Filly.
