Have you ever heard of “Thomas the Tank Engine”? If you’ve been around little foals i’m sure you have. My cousin: Ice Shard, loved Thomas so much she could name all of the trains, knew what color they were & even the number they had painted on them. I kinda thought it was a good series for foals, but that all changed one day.
Twilight walks into her throne room bringing waffles to Spike, Starlight, & Nyx. “Morning Mom!” Nyx said.
“Morning Nyx, Spike, Starlight. Here’s breakfast” Twilight replies. As the family eats Spike talks about asking Rarity out & Nyx giggles.
Starlight begins to ask “What do you think happened to Cozy Glow?”
“Princess Celestia told me she just sent her back home” Twilight answered. Suddenly the door horns blare out a 3 second tune.
“Oh that must be Derpy with the mail” Spike says as he makes his way towards the door.
“Mom I heard from Neighsay that she was sent to Tartarus” Nyx said.
Twilight ponders this for a bit then says “Princess Celestia never lies to me Nyx. I’m sure Cozy’s fine.”
“TWIIILIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!!!” Spike had burst through the door, startling the other three.
“SPIKE! Don’t scare us like that!” said Twilight.
Spike chuckles nervously & says “Sorry girls, it’s just I got a letter from Aunt Firefly that Ice Shard is coming for a visit.”
“Really!?” Twilight said in a excited voice. Twilight looked at the letter & was so excited that her 7 year old cousin was coming to Ponyville tomorrow. But then she remembered something unfortunate. “Guys tomorrow I need to grade the essays from the School of Friendship” Twilight told them. Starlight thought for a moment until she got an idea.
“She likes Thomas right? So why Not buy her a Thomas DVD?” Starlight suggested. Twilight liked the idea and decided to go to the video store to buy a DVD.
“Hmm, where’s the foals section?” Twilight asked herself as she strolled through the store. She could see movies of every kind, like “Raiders of the Lost Mark,” & “Nightmare in Manehatten.” Finally, she found the foals section of the store & searched for the Thomas DVD’s. “Come on, where are the-” *BUMP* Twilight bumped into a box that seemed empty, but she could see something inside it. So she used her magic to pick it up & saw it was a DVD case. The DVD was called “Thomas & the Children.” It looked innocent enough. Thomas was smiling & foals were sticking their heads out of the coaches waving. Twilight brought the DVD over to the counter to purchase it. “How much do you want for this DVD?” Twilight asked.
The Shop worker looked at the DVD with an odd look & said, “Princess, I don’t quite remember receiving this DVD to be sold.” Well that was odd. The shop records everything they receive for sale, but when the cashier checked the list the title of the DVD wasn’t on it. He just shrugged it off & told Twilight they don’t own it so she can just take it. Twilight decided to leave 2 bits anyway. She left the store to bring the DVD home.
“Just wait til Ice Shard sees this” Twilight told herself.
A knock was heard at the door & Twilight answered it.
"Hi Twilight" Ice Shard said.
"Hello Ice, it's so good to see you." Twilight brought her cousin inside & they greeted Spike & Nyx. Starlight was on a trip with Trixie to the Changeling Kingdom to visit Thorax.
“I’m very excited to be here & now we can play!” Ice Shard said excitedly. Twilight sighed.
“Unfortunately I have , work to do & spike & Nyx Are gonna help me, but that’s why I got you this.” She pulls out the DVD. Ice Shard is so excited to see the DVD that right off the bat she pleaded with Twilight to pop it into the DVD player. Twilight, Spike, & Nyx went to work while she watched the episode.
-2 hours later-
Twilight just finished grading Smolder’s Essay & was just about to grade Gallus’ when Ice Shard came in looking as pale as a sheep. “T-Twilight?” she said.
“Are you okay?” Twilight asked. She then felt Ice’s head & noticed her temperature went up.
“W-why did Thomas kill the children?” Twilights heart sank like a stone, but she brushed it off.
“I’m sure Thomas didn’t kill the children. Now you need your medicine & to go to bed.” After helping Ice get ready for bed, Spike asked Twilight what was going on. Twilight told him about what Ice said about the children. Spike was equally surprised.
“What did she see on that DVD Twilight?” Spike asked.
“I don’t know but I say we find out” Twilight looked at the dvd case and noticed a number on the bottom right corner. “666” odd… Spike got some popcorn while Twilight put in the dvd. It didn’t have a main menu like most dvds, it just went straight into the episode. It looked normal so far. Thomas was told to pick up a group of foals & take them to the seaside by Sir Topimhat. The first out of place thing Twilight noticed was there was no narrator in this episode. The episode then showed Thomas picking up the kids and them climbing on board. Like always, there was a scene with Thomas zooming down the rails with the children cheering.
-Then There Was Trouble-
Twilight & Spike saw that Bertie the bus was stuck on the railroad tracks. They wondered what was about to happen, & that’s when the episode got dark. Bertie starred at Thomas in fear, but that little blue train just smiled and sped up. What was worse was that he started laughing, & now the kids were crying. Thomas crashed into Bertie causing pieces of them to go flying everywhere. The screen then showed the carnage inside the coaches. Limbs were broken, heads were torn off, & what looked like real blood was splattered everywhere. The screen went to static as Spike started to feel sick, and Twilight felt herself boiling over with anger thinking “What sick son of a bitch would make something this messed up for kids?” Messages started to appear on the screen. Disturbing ones like “kill,” “obey,” “multiply,” & “die.” Twilight threw the disk away after breaking it in half. She then checked on Ice Shard who was happily asleep. Twilight tucked in Spike and Nyx And went to bed herself.
Twilight was in her room in bed. She couldn't stop thinking how disturbing that dvd was. After thinking about it for two hours she finally went to sleep.
-Twilight's Dream-
Twilight was still in her room sitting, when she thought she heard a voice. Twilight turned toward the door. "Hello? Is somepony there?" No reply. She decided to shrug it off & sat back down, but then the door shook. "Huh? Spike, is that you?" This time she heard giggling. Then the door opened slightly. Twilight watched, & after 5 seconds of silence a little wooden colt covered in blood walked into the room, followed by another, and another until there were about 20 in the room. Twilight gasped as they stared at her. Suddenly, one of the fillies jumped on Twilight causing her to scream. The other foals followed & started piling up on her. Their twisted forms grabbed her wings and pulled them off, followed by one of her legs, all while she heard that train laughing.
-Awake-
Twilight now wakes up sweating. She just had the worst nightmare of her life by far. She ended up telling Spike all about it. He felt very bad for Twilight & told her to forget about it because it never really happened. "You're right Spike. I just need to get over it" Twilight said. Suddenly, Twilight swore she could hear the sound of chuffing.
Twilight was in the kitchen eating a hayburger while talking to herself. "Ah, what a day it's been, Nyx is having a sleepover with the crusaders, Starlight is running the School of Friendship, and-" Twilight remembers Spike. He hasn't come out of his room all day, not even for meals. Twilight had a gem pie ready for him & usually by the time it's ready Spike would be ready to eat. "Spike's been up there for a little while. I better go check on him." Twilight left the kitchen to check on her little brother. She enters Spike's room and walks over to his bed. Spike is lying down facing the other direction. "Spike, you've been sleeping all day. Get up."
"..."
"-Sp-Spike?"
Twilight kept trying to wake him up but he wouldn't respond. Finally, she decided to nudge him awake. but something felt odd. Spike was cold. Twilight then turned Spike around & what she saw shocked her. Spike's eyes were gouged out, with blood pooring from his sockets.
"*GASP* SPIKE!" Twilight was crying now. "NO! SP-SPIKE!!!"
Suddenly, Twilight saw a vortex appear in the floor 10 feet away from her. "W-What in the name of Faust!?" Out came a giant mechanical black hand with a blue arm. It was then revealed to be a mangled form of Thomas with red eyes & fangs. It slowly started approaching Twilight. Twilight baked away with her left foreleg up. Suddenly the creature lunged at Twilight biting her leg off. She screamed in total agony as she clutched where her leg used to be. The creature then grabbed her and pulled her into the vortex.
-???-
Twilight has woken up surrounded by dead trees and rusty metal. She heard chuffing behind her & saw Thomas with those red eyes. He then said in an ominous voice: "Hello everybody! Welcome to the island of Sodor!"
-Reality-
Twilight wakes up. it was all just a terrible nightmare. Ice Shard wasn't even there yet, but Twilight knew she had to find something else for her to watch. In the end she ended up canceling the visit, & she never looked at Thomas the Tank Engine the same way again.
