Minuette As My Pony Pal
When you leave the pet store after buying the animal you're interested in, you mostly felt relief of how expensive ponies are. When it comes to regular pets like puppies that range to ten to twenty bucks, ponies on the other hand are almost a hundred dollars. It’s mainly the fact they can do so many things other animals can’t, which is what your going to learn.
Your pony is instead in her blue plastic cage as you place it in the passenger's seat right by you in your car. The people who work at the pet store remind you that the blue pony is named Minuette. She’s been in that same store in such a long time, she was thrilled that you had enough money to afford her.
As you get in the car and drove out of the parking lot, you get back on the road and make your way home. During the whole trip back, you slowly notice the way Minuette is looking at you. She was so happy, her eyes sparkle from the reflection of the sun setting outside. As much as you can feel the joy in the blue pony, you still need to pay attention to where you’re driving to avoid trouble.
It took five minutes until you drove into the parking lot where your apartment is located. It was a nice and the only cheap apartments you can afford on your own. As you park your car, you took out Minuette who’s still staring at you while she’s still in her cage. After you get inside the front door, you walk in the hallway until you arrive at your apartment number in the building. You use your keys, unlock your door as you walk inside your room.
Your apartment is decent and comfortable at best, your bathroom has a wonderful smell once you enter it, your living room had the space you need with your HD TV in the corner by the windows and your bedroom has a queen size bed with the most relaxing pillows for your head to lay on. Minuette loves every part of your apartment and she’s thrilled to get out of her cage.
“Alright, relax little fella.” You replied once you place her cage on the ground. “You will have all the freedom in my apartment as long as you don’t break anything.” You open her cage as you saw her ran out like a deer who got caught in the woods. She played around on your sofa, enjoying the softness from her hooves.
You really wanted to play with her because of how carefree she is, but at the same time, you haven’t eaten anything since you got home from your full time job. You make your way to your refrigerator and took out some sliced apples in it’s container, along with some fresh water.
Meanwhile Minuette has her attention on you again. She gets off the sofa and makes her way to your table as you take your seat. “After a long week of working my butt off, I sure apples will make me feel more refreshed.”
“Can I have a slice of your apples?” Before you even took a bite of you nighttime snack, you look in your surroundings from the voice you heard. You thought it was one of your neighbours in the building but it wasn’t...at all.
“Down here!” When you saw who was doing that adorable voice, it was your pet Minuette. You became shocked at the fact you saw your pet and animal no less spoke in front of you. Not only that, you were stunned in silence as the blue pony giggles at your expression.
“It is me or are you just too gullible to play with me?” Minuette smiled as she gets on her seat right by you. She uses her unicorn which lifted one of the apple slices. Your jaw dropped once you saw the magic coming from her horn.
“Am I dreaming? This must be a dream.” You thought to yourself. In order to not stall anymore time on the bizarre moment with your pet, you try with the best of your ability to talk sense with the blue pony. “Minuette right?” You called as she took notice.
“Yes daddy?”
“Did, did you just called me daddy?”
Minuette tilted her head adorably. “Well yes, your brought me from the pet store so I should call you daddy, if it’s okay with you.”
Despite feeling off with the word daddy, you get back on track with her. “Anyway...I didn’t know...you actually talked when I saw you.”
“Well here’s a secret you might don’t know about ponies. We usually keep our voices to ourselves during the whole day when the employees do their job.” She looked at her surroundings until she looks at you again. “We always make ourselves look so adorable.”
When you finally understand every single word from her voice, a question came to your mind. “Okay...so is there a rule where your supposed to stay muted in front of humans like me?”
“Tee hee hee!” She giggles from the cuteness of her voice. “If we had that rule, our lives as ponies would be boring!”
You blink several times at the awkward moment during your nighttime snack to the point it wasn’t a dream, it was reality taking it’s full exposure. As you eat another slice of your apples, Minuette uses her horn again to have her second slice.
“So...is it okay if I ask about that horn you have on your head?”
“That’s okay, you can ask me anything.” Minuette rolled her eyes. “I’m a unicorn, unicorns can use telekinesis while also doing magical spells.”
“Ma-magical spells? Isn’t that dangerous?”
“Sometimes.” The blue unicorn looked in your apartment again. “And I got to say, your place feels really safe.”
“Well yes, it’s the least I can pay for the money I have.”
“Do you have a roommate?”
“Not really.”
This made Minuette gasped. “You must be really lonely.”
“Actually the thing is,” You lowered your head. “I rented this apartment three months ago and I miss my family. The reason why I moved out is because my parents couldn’t afford my incurrents anymore so I had to work at a full time job to get the money on my own.”
After your small history with your parents came out, Minuette lowered her ears in sadness. “You really must miss your family.”
“I do, I only hang out with them during the holidays now. Like when my grandparents came over.” You took another slice to calm yourself down. Everytime you feel this way, you usually feel all alone. But Minuette isn’t invisible from your view and her heart has a different feel from your predicament.
“Well...Sorry that your family is like that. My family never had that problem and they were great parents.”
“Must be one of a kind right?”
“Yeah, although I spend most of my time with my friends.”
With only a couple of slices in the container, there’s always the most important question. Something your own pet with the ability to speak had in mind.
“So I was wondering?” Minuette asked while she takes the final apple slice. “Out of all the ponies you could pick back at the pet store, why’d you decide to pick me?” She leaned forward so she can have her full attention on you. When if comes to your point of view of animals, there’s always that one smell element you like about them. As you eat the final slice in you hand, you answer your pet.
“Because my favorite color is blue and I never see an animal that’s blue in my life. I may have in animal classes in high school, but not a real blue one in class.”
For the first time in Minuette’s life in such a long time, her heart was warm with a bit of family love she had during her childhood. “You...picked me because...I’m...blue?”
You tilted your up and down.
“Why is blue your favorite color?” The blue pony asked.
“When I think of colors, I always think of them as any kind of emotions and meanings. Red, for instance is anger and to stop on the road. Green is sometimes gross, but also good when your on the heroes side. But blue on the other hand,”
“Yes?”
“I always think of it as an important color. It’s better then green, it’s the color of the sky and me personally, it’s a good luck charm.”
“A good luck charm?”
“Blue is the most beautiful color when it comes to anything you do in your life.”
Minuette went into tears from the words you spoke to her. It was a coincidence her mane and body being the color of blue is the whole reason you brought her from the pet store. And if you think blue is what your going to enjoy from Minuette, then it’s only the least of what she could do as your pet. Minuette jump from her seat and gave you a hug which put you off guard.
“I really love you for being my daddy!” She smiled in joy. “I can’t wait for all the fun we can do together!”
You slowly wrap your hands around her body. The way your holding on to her is like how you give a dog a hug from its weight. “I promise I will take good care of you.”
After you broke the hug, it is almost time for you to go to bed. You first brushed your teeth in the bathroom while you also floss to get the small particles out of your jaw. You changed into your pajamas as you finally enter your bedroom. Minuette was watching you from behind and found your bedroom peaceful like her bedroom from her old home.
“You’re going to bed now?” She asked.
“Yes, I’m feeling a little exhausted and I need the energy for tomorrow.” You yawned.
“And where am I supposed to sleep?”
Then you stopped before you were about to tuck yourself in bed. You weren't able to buy any toys for animals back at the pet store because of how expensive Minuette was. And the fact that pony beds are thirty dollars makes you stress. “Ohhh….ummm….I have several spare blankets in my closet, you can lay on them if you-“
“How about I sleep with you?”
Just when you are about to make your way to your closet, you stopped in place. The thought of having your pet, a pony especially sleeping with you gave you second thoughts. “No offense but I don’t-“
Again Minuette interrupts you. “Please, I’m not house broken and I don’t want to sleep alone!” She then gave you her blue sparkling eyes of desperation. You wanted to say no, but you also didn’t wanted to hurt her feelings.
“Okay, you can sleep with me, but when I afford a bed for your size, you have to sleep on your spot of the room.”
Despite the rules she has to follow in the near future, she felt happy to sleep by you. You turned off the lights in your bedroom as you and Minuette tucked in bed. With the blankets feeling warmer, you can barely feel any part of your body cold. As you lay your head on your pillow but you can feel Minuette’s hooves rubbing on your hands. The fact she smells different then the other animals makes her better to sleep with. And if that wasn’t enough, she slowly cuddles on the top of you with her face being close to yours. You couldn’t help yourself of how cute she is and the fact she’s happy to sleep with you.
In order to make herself comfortable, you rub your hand in her mane which she found satisfying to drive her to slumber. “That's...really...sweet of you.” She replied with her eyes beginning to close.
“When ever anyone sees you as my pet, I’ll tell them that you are my pal.”
“Pony pal?” Minuette giggled.
“Sure.” In less than three minutes, you get yourself into slumber, thanks to Minuette’s cuddling. She lays her head on your chest as you and your pony pal went to sleep with the dreams you have with Minuette.
