Spitfire wants a talk with the leader of the Washouts and her thoughts of who they really are.

Spitfire is one of the best coaches in Equestria while also being the best Wonderbolts in Cloudsdale. While she’s tough, she’s still respectful to any pegasus who dreams to be like her. However there’s one pony in particular who’s the opposite of Rainbow Dash and when she heard everything that almost drove Scootaloo into danger, she demands her to come over in her office to have a conversation.

A Word With The Washed Up Punk

View Online

During the weekends in the Wonderbolts Academy, the Wonderbolts take time off like every other pony in Equestria. But when it comes to Spitfire she’s always tries to make the academy safe, in case of intruders breaking and entering their facility. However this day was different for her, she was planning to do this meeting a while ago, but her daily workouts and coaching got in the way.

Her visitor is a former student in the academy, while also the head leader during Rainbow Dash’s trip to become a Wonderbolt. She got kicked out due to her actions, which almost caused tens of students to be hospitalized during their flying lessons. She wasn’t even happy to go back to the Wonderbolts Academy once her lackeys told her the message. But other than the fact she prefers her own ways, the only Wonderbolt she remembers the most is Spitfire, the mare who gave her the chance to be like them, but never happened.

The pegasus who’s about to have a talk with Spitfire is waiting on the bench in the hallway, being impatient. Fleetfoot who was done eating her lunch break, gave the mare a glare. She remembers the actions she did back then and it really shows with the black and green uniform the pegasus has on.

“Hello, Lightning Dust.” Fleetfoot giving the formal head leader the look.

“What’s up?” Lighting retorted.

“I don’t know, are you here to cause somepony to get hospitalized?”

“Pff!” Lightning Dust rolled her eyes in annoyance.

Fleetfoot ignored the attitude of Lightning Dust as she leaves the hallway. “She hasn’t changed at all, in fact she even worse than I thought.”

After two more minutes, one of the speakers in the hallways turns on. “Lightning Dust, you can enter Spitfire’s office now.”

Lightning got up and made her way. In Spitfire’s office, Spitfire has her eyes on the door, waiting for Lightning to arrive. Then her door was open with her visitor coming in. There was silence after the door was closed as Lightning took her seat by the desk. With Spitfire and her shades on, she’s in a serious mood while Lightning Dust raised her eyebrow.

“It’s been a long time since I last saw you and some things never change, do they?” Spitfire placing her hoof on the desk.

“So? Not everything needs a chance in life.” Lightning retorted.

Spitfire saw the uniform Lightning is wearing. She hates it in every fibre of her being. “Some outfit you have on?”

“I like to think of it as...a different talent I have.” Lightning smirked.

“More like an nuthead who doesn't respect safety to others around her.”

Lightning's eyes went wide from Spitfire’s sarcastic compliment. “What did you say?”

“You know what I mean! Leader of the Washouts or should I say, washed up punk!”
Lightning was furious to the point she got off her seat. “HEY! SIT, BACK, DOWN!”

“Why did you invite me here!?”

“Because I’ve heard from Rainbow Dash that Scootaloo almost put herself in danger from your unstable stunt!” The couch took a deep breath to calm herself down but it wasn’t enough. The conversation just began and she’s about to give her a piece of her mind.

While Lightning Dust understood from her former coach of the academy, she still growls once she sits back down.

“Lightning Dust, before you were head leader you’re one of the best mares. I thought I can count on you.”

“Look if your going to bring the past, I’m-“

“I JUST STARTED!” Spitfire getting into Lightning’s face. “<sigh> The fact you caused some serious damage during the obstacle course, I was wrong about you. You’re nothing but a reckless mare who is barely Wonderbolts standard.”

Lightning Dust signed in annoyance. “Here I go again. The same old news I’ve been hearing from so many haters.” She placed both of her bottom hooves on the edges of the desktop, relaxing which irritates her former coach.

“Maybe those ‘haters’ are speaking the truth about your new hobby.”

“Excuse me?”

“From all my years of being a coach and the leader of the Wonderbolts, you’re a disgrace to this society, not just your group in general.”

“What are you talking about?”

“You really want me to blow a gasket do you?”

“Do you think I am?”

Ignoring Lightning’s attitude, Spitfire went back to the subject. “You really think that doing dangerous stunts is what makes you amazing? And not being a Wonderbolt is not even better.”

“Did you even see the fans I had during my performances?”

“I don’t care, because what they don’t know that you always keep to yourself is that all of your stunts were never tested. When they find out about that, they will see you how much of a true loser you are.”

“Pff! What makes you think that?”

“That you’re one of the ponies who got kicked out from the Wonderbolts Academy and you know darn well what they feel about that.”

Lightning moved her hooves from the desktop since she was shocked from Spitfire’s words. No one even one of the students in the academy during her time in Cloudsdale told her about that.

“Our academy is supposed to make us honor and respect to the ponies who idolize us like what Rainbow Dash is doing after all these years. With no dangerous stunts and no serious injuries. And yes, sometimes we usually get hospitalized during our lessons, but that’s common and not what you do.”

“What makes me and my group the problem?”

Spitfire took off her glasses to give Lightning her look. She always gives that look to so many ponies in her office when she feels this way. It’s also the fact she’s serious the furious to the ones she trusted.

“You may put your talents on the line, but it will make you worse. It goes to show that you care about your reckless ego and Rainbow has one, but not reckless. When she told me everything about the Washouts, you can’t even doing anything safer to save your reputation.”

“My reputation is just as fine as yours.”

“You’re wrong again. Because our academy is the major leagues to be professional mares and colts. Sure there maybe other facilities who want to be like us, but they’re the minor leagues since they do respect their reputation. You and the Washouts on the other hand aren’t in any leagues, not even in the stunt leagues.”

Lightning Dust slams her hooves on the desk in rage. “Then, what leagues are we in!?”

“Neither! And you know why.”

Lightning leant back and sat back down again. It was at this point she was speechless in the meeting she has with Spitfire. Not only is she more mad from the complaints, but also she knows how smart her former coach is. It was a while since she’s been kicked out, but at the same time, it also means she was too focused on her stunt group.

Spitfire sighed without getting a response from Lightning. This meeting was a long time coming and she took out everything she needed to say. She was relieved it came, but at the same time, she moved on.

“Look. I thought I can trust you, and I thought you can be more responsible, but after everything you did, it makes you unstable, just like the Washouts.”

“At least I still have a fan base.”

“Yeah...a fan base who will turn on you eventually once they find out more about you. Seriously what do you want to be?”

The pegasus thought about it for a bit but nothing came in her mind.

“Of course, your reckless actions always get the best of you.”

Lightning Dust got off her seat. “You know what? I don’t care what you think anymore. I’ve got what I need and that's my fame. I’m leaving.” She turned around and head to the door.

Spitfire on the other hand gave herself a facehoof from Lightning’s snarky attitude. It goes to show that Lightning Dust hasn’t changed at all. Then Fleetfoot came inside the office after she came across Lightning from the halls again.

“So how was the meeting?” She asked.

“Not even close to be good.”

“Not surprised. Do you think she’s ever going to learn?”

“Pff, that’s her reaction whenever she gets criticized for her reckless actions.” Spitfire took a drink from her water bottle, while she tries to calm herself down with her partner. “But I can guarantee you, her group the Washouts will probably get in some serious trouble once one of the lawyers in Ponyville find out about what happened.

“Like what they almost did to Scoolatoo?”

“Her parents will do the right thing.”

Spitfire and Fleetfoot did a hoofbump at each other. “And it will show Lightning Dust the consequences of her reckless actions. We, at least know what we’re doing better than her.”

“Ain’t that the truth?” Fleetfoot smirked.
