“Give all your worries to Him, because He cares for you” 1 Peter 5:7

Unknown Location: One month after Storm King Invasion

The hooded figure placed his cup down after finishing his drink. The calming music coming from the radio merged with the tipping of silverware and the many murmurs of small talk amongst the customers. The bartender stared at the figure, taking a closer look and noticing his faint glowing blue skin. The figure didn’t say much other than when ordering and getting a refill on his drink. He was kind of nervous to start a conversation with the “mysterious stranger” person/pony ever since his last encounter. ,After gathering the courage, He cleaned the inside of another cup and prepared to refill his cup and speak with him.

“Thanks” he said quietly, his voice sounding like a young adult.

“New around here huh?” he asked calmly. The figure didn’t say anything since he was drinking his cup before placing it back down on the table.

“Just passing through. Waiting for a friend.”

“Ah” he replied as he poured him another glass.

“You seem troubled.”

“Oh its nothing.” said the bartender. “It’s just the last time I tried having a chat with a out of town stranger things really didn’t go well.”

“I see.” said the being before pulling something out of his coat. He placed down a wad of cash on the table before getting up. “Keep the change. Get some better lights. And a radio.”

The bartender nearly had a heart attack at the sight of all the cash he was just given.

“Uh...thank you mister…”

“Atlas.” said the figure. “Call me, Atlas.” he said before walking out of the store.

“Now then. On to business.” he replied as he walked into the dimly lit street before him going who knows where.

The moon shined in the clear night sky as the luminous light glowed over the small town museum. Security guards were patrolling the halls and outside to keep out unwanted late night guests. Unbeknownst to them, on the roof flew by several dark figures. One of guards noticed the shadows and looked up, only to see nothing was there. He shrugged and continued on his route. What he didn’t know however is that a figure had already entered the building and landed so soft on the ground, its like he didn’t even make a sound. Making sure the guards stayed on they’re route, the figure ran across the room towards a door. Using his thieving techniques, he was able to unlock the door easily and slipped inside before anyone could see him. Running down the hall, he went towards a door on the left and once again picked the lock. He opened it and a smile creeped on his lips as he gazed on the targeted object.

It was a piece of paper, though it may not have sounded like much, it seems quite valuable in his eyes. Before he stepped in he notice a faint red beam across the floor. Looking up at the camera, he waited. Suddenly the green light turned red and flashed. he nodded before pulling something out of his pocket, he tossed a small orb on the floor when then released a gas into the room, revealing the lasers scattered all over the room. Once he had a plan, he began to perform amazing acrobatic moves and poses to squeeze by with ease, even nearing a single beam, he was able to twist and stretch his way to the glass case. Once there, he held up his figure and with a small *shing* a razor sharp claw appeared, confirming that he was some sort of humanoid spirit wolf. With a simple circle, he cut open the glass box and pulled out the paper before placing it in his coat pocket. Smirking he pressed his ear and began talking.

“This is Shadow Leader. Ive secured the objective.” he said. His voice sounded like a young adult.

“Nice work, boss!” said a young but bubbly voice on the other end. “Never doubted you for a second. We’ll meet you at the rendezvous point.”

“Copy that.” he replied before turning off his comm and heading towards the door. He began to do his acrobatic tricks only this time, he was unaware of a single strand of fur that fell from his tail, by the time he got to the door it was too late as the fur landed on a lone beam, causing the alarm to start blaring in the room. He cursed under his breath and pressed his comm.

“We got a bit of a situation”

“Don’t tell me…” said another voice which sounded like a young adult woman.with a little spunk.

“You! Thief!” shouted a guard down the hall.

“Time for Plan X.”

He turned off his comm and pulled out what looked like a mask. He placed it on and adjusted his gloves. He then suddenly dashed down the hall, running up the walls and backflipping over the guard, he gave a salute and burst through the door into the main hall, where he came face to face with several other guards. He sighed and began to dodge all they’re tasers and and clubs jumping on top, below and in between as he tried to get to the place where he entered. Finally he was able to make it to the exit but he was suddenly hit was a taser beam and fell to the ground in shock. The guards surrounded him and pointed they’re weapons at him.

“Nowhere to run thief.” said the guard. “Off to the slammer with you.”

Meanwhile, eight figures watched from somewhere outside thanks to the security cameras.

“I told him that he needed backup!” said one figure, who voice was gruff and aggressive.
“Im going in!”

“Wait!” said the young one. “He said just followed the plan.”

“And..uh...whats plan X again? Heh heh.” said a voice that almost sounded like it belong to a crazy psychopath.

The black figure in to museum, began to growl and to the shock of everyone, in a flash changed form and took out nearly all of the guards in an instant. He changed form again and brushed his jacket a bit before walking over to what looked like the leader of the team. The captain cowered in fear as he began to walk towards him.

“S-sstay back!” he said trying to fire his gun but it was all out of juice. The figure towered over him, the moonlight shining over him. The guard closed his eyes and waited for the end but when nothing happened, he opened his eyes and saw that the figure was gone. Nowhere in sight, he looked around and all he can see were just his team, knocked out and groaning. Though when he looked down, something caught his eye. It was a card. A black card with red a black patterns all over it. Picking it up and turning it over, he gasped at what he saw.

“Get up! Search the premises! He couldn’t have gotten far!” He shouted. He quickly pulled out his radio and dialed a number in it.

“This is the officer over at the Sae Town Museum. Deliver a message to Chief Mako at Harmony City PD….they’re back.”

The figure stood on top of a roof of a house looking over the village. He picked out the page from his coat pocket and held it in his hand before pressing a button on his intercom.

“Plan X successful. Returning to base.”

“About time! I was about to bring in the cavalry!”

“Bulkan Shuddup! You weren't gonna do jack-”

“Kam! What did I say about language!?”

“Oh YOUR the one to talk, Mom!”

*Smack*

“OW!”

“You do know he can hear us over the comm right?” said another person whose voice was calm yet fierce.

The figure rolled his eyes and took off the mask he had on, revealing his handsome, yet fierce face, his messy hair blowing in the night breeze.

“That makes three….one more to go….” he said before jumping into the sky and disappearing into the forest below. A lone howl of a wolf can be heard as a blue light ran deep into the world.

Chapter 1: Late Again

The sun shined through the small apartment window of the Nightshade resident, The rays of the sun bounced off different parts of the room such as the desk, a pile of dirty clothes to and a large pile of blankets piled on what looked like a self-made hammock. The sound of loud snoring was heard as a figure moved beneath the covers, a hand and leg draping over te opposite sides. Lying inside was none other than Chi the Wisp, sleeping peacefully, drool oozing out of her mouth as she slept in a deep sleep. She looked so peaceful that not even the single drop of a pin could wake her up. In fact, practically nothing could wake up this spunky little-

**BEEP BEEP**

Well maybe that.

The wisp groaned as her alarm on her bedside went off, sounding like a car alarm that was parked in her room. She slowly raised her head up and looked at the clock. it read 7:00am. She rolled her eyes, raises her hand up and just as you think she was going to simply turn it off, her hand turns into a large bule mallet and she simply smashes her alarm before reverting it back to normal and going back to sleep.

She groggily opened her eyes and sat up in her bed. she had dark blue bags over her eyes and her hair was a complete mess, looking as she just stepped right out of a tornado. She stretched her arms out, literally, and let out a long yawn before looking at her phone. The clock read 8:25am before shrugging and going back to sleep. She She rubbed her eyes quickly before gazing at her screen to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. Unfortunately, she wasn’t. Her eyes bulged out of her sockets.

“OH PONY FEATHERS IM GONNA BE LATE AGAIN!”

She dashed out of her bed, only to have to the blanket wrap around her ankle, causing her to trip and fall and spin around in her hammock. It spun a couple times before coming to a stop, a now tangled Chi wrapped in what looked like the most uncomfortable way possible. She groaned as she tried to release herself from her hammock but to no avail. A flash of blue light appeared beneath the covers as the hammock and covers slowly lowered down and small ghost-like creature flew out and into the bathroom near the bedroom door. It transformed back into the human girl as she was about to take of her clothes and head into the shower but she quickly looked at the clock and back at herself and gave a quick sniff under her arm. She shrugged.

“No one will know” she muttered as she went to the mirror and, using her super speed, brushed her teeth and washed her face. She took the hair brush that was laying on the counter and quickly brushed her messy blue hair until it was at least halfway decent. After brushing she quickly ran out but ran back to the bathroom and checked her hair. Something wasn’t right. She took her thumb and blew real hard into it until a small *pop* was her and a small strand of hair was sticking out from the rest of hair. She smiled with satisfaction before zooming into her closet and putting on her casual clothes she usually wears for the day. She quickly grabbed her orange converse and tried to place them on while placing her sweater on but it proved to be useless as she fell on her butt. Meanwhile, the kitchen where Nova and Sunset and they’re son, Eclipse, were just finishing they’re breakfast. Sunset was having a stack of pancakes and Nova a bowl of fruit salad and a nice hot cup of coffee while Eclipse had his favorite cereal “Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs”. Just as Sunset was about to take another bite of her pancake, a blue blur of wind, still having the small scent of morning on her swiped the fork from of her hand. Sunset chomped down on an empty fork and instantly looked down at her plate to see her stack completely gone. She narrowed her eyes and looked at the wisp who was standing besides, giving her a small smile before quickly swallowing it whole..and then burping

“Um….excuse me?”

Eclipse giggled at his aunt’s action while Nova simply continued reading his paper as if nothing happened.

“Well good morning, early bird.” he said. “Should you be somewhere right about now?”

“Oh right!” the wisp exclaimed before she zoomed across the kitchen, grabbing an apple from the small fruit basket and her books from on the counter. She said her goodbyes and she ran out of the apartment, leaving the door open in the process.

“How long till you think she realizes?” asked Sunset as she was picking up the dishes on the table. Chi was nearly a block down the road before she remembered.

“ECLIPSE!” she shouted before looking down and seeing her body continuing to run down the street. She whistled to it, causing the body to stop in its tracks and retract back to her stretched neck and head, only for it to run in the opposite direction back to the complex. She ran back up the stairs and into the apartment, snatching the little unicorn from his chair and cleaning up him up in lighting speed before zipping out of the building once again but not before kissing Nova and Sunset on the cheek as well as Eclipse. The little unicorn giggled with glee as he rode on his aunt’s back as she ran at super sonic speed across the city towards the school campus. In a few minutes, the two made it to Eclipse’s Elementary School, which was conveniently right down the street from Harmony High.

“Alright, Mister. You remember what we talked about, right?” she asked as she cleaned and straighten his hair out from the wind.

“Yes, Auntie” he replied.

“That’s my favorite little nephew!” she said as she rubbed his hair, messing it up but just slightly so it's still presentable.

“But im your only nephew.” he replied.

Chi rolled her eyes before she gasped at the sound of a bell down the street. She gave him a small kiss on his forehead. “You have a good day, alright? I love you.”

“Love you, too!” he said as he kissed her back before running inside. She quickly got up and ran towards her own campus. She quickly looked down at her phone.

“Okay, I might be able to make it without anyone noticing I’m tardy. All I need to do is-”

*SPLAT*

As if it jumped right out of a cartoon, the wisp slammed face first into the main doors of the school. Her body literally flattened like a thin pancake instantly as her face had the look of shock and embarrassment on it before she slowly peeled off the door and floated to the ground, stuck in the pose she was in when she hit the door at high speed.

“Right...Pull...not push….” She said as she slowly raised her paper-like finger up to the air before it lowered back down. “Ow…

The classroom was bustling as the students were talking to their friends before class officially started. Part of them was our heroes; The Guardians of Harmony. They’re leader, Princess Avatar Iris was talking to Gallant and Mai about they’re science finals while Hiro was talking with Akari about the new hoverboard coming out soon. Being Hiro of course, he was bragging about how awesome it works while Akari rolled her eyes but not denying that she was interested in the new product. Well that and how many times Hiro will fall on his face. Finally, Nori was putting her morning makeup on while Chrysalis was braiding her hair. Not much has changed with the Guardians since the Friendship Festival a couple years ago. Though they did have a new addition to the team being Hozu. Hozu wasn’t the type of person to go to school, especially at his age. He basically home schooled himself the past several thousand years. That and Iris has tried to take him some days even dragging him into the school..literally. After many times of Iris yapping at him to go to school, he finally agreed to go but instead of being a student, he helps out the gym teacher, Bulk Biceps, with P.E., taking a huge but also disturbing liking towards dodgeball.

“Alright class! Settle down!” shouted the teacher as she walked in the room and towards her desk. The class instantly began to settle down and go back to they’re seats. Gallant looked over to see a desk still empty beside Iris.

“Has anyone seen Chi?” he whispered.

Akari shrugged. “Not since last night. I sent her a text this morning to meet up with us at school.”

"I can probably guess where she is." Mai muttered to Nori.

“Alright everyone, time for attendance.” said P’Li as she grabbed her Geo-Slate and began walking down the aisles, calling out everyone names.

“Iris.”

“Here!” she called out.

“Mai Sato”

“Present for learning and fun ma'am!” she called out as she gave a small two finger salute.

"Hiro Sato."

"Sup, teach!"

“Chryalis”

“Here!”

“Nori Posidonia”

“Heeeere” she said a sing-song voice.

"Gallant Steed."

"Here, ma'am!"

“Chi Nightshade?......Chi Nightshade”

P’Li lifted her head up from her slate and scanned the room. The Guardians looked at each other with concern about they’re friend. She let a sigh. Late again as usual. She was about to put a “x” by her name before the door burst open.

“Wait! Im here! Im here!” Chi called out as she tried to run to her desk while blowing in her thumb to inflate herself. She was half way inflated but her left leg, right arm, and half of her head was still two dimensional. She was too busy running/dragging herself to her desk that she was unaware of the girl, who looked much more taller and muscular than the wisp and Iris combined placed her foot out and stepped on the wisp’s flattened leg. The leg stretched out a few inches before Chi lost her balance and fell face first onto the classroom floor with a loud thud, her books and papers scattering across the floor. The Guardians winced at the sight while the rest of the class began to laugh at her, some even taking pictures of her goofy state and face. The wisp’s eyes rolled in her head before she knocked her head a couple times to get her eyes back in place. The gang, being the only ones not laughing along with P’Li and a certain boy in the classroom who wore glasses, had black messy hair and wore a leather jacket which a white t shirt and blue jeans and converse shoes. He didn't say anything but simply got up from his desk and began to help pick up her stuff, the Guardians following behind. Iris snapped her fingers and instantly, Chi began to feel a rush of air as her body returned to its normal shape and size. Once her vision cleared, she saw where she was and looked at her fellow classmates who were laughing non stop at her accident. It was also noticeable that her skin was turning a lime-green color and grabbed one of the books off the floor and covered her face before walking to her desk without a peep.

“Okay, class that’s enough!” P’Li shouted as she clapped her hands. The class quieted down once again and faced the teacher. Chi lowered the book down from her face while her skin returned to its normal color. “Okay, now that’s been taken care of, let’s begin with a couple announcements…"

Suddenly Chi heard a buzz from her phone and pulled it out to see a text from someone named Aku:

Watch where you walk, flat face.

the wisp looked up to see the same muscular girl at the other side of the room snickering under her mouth. Chi however was not phased by her insult, instead she just narrowed her eyes and growled before sending a text to Iris.

Thanks again.

a speech bubble appears for a few seconds before an image of her, Iris, and Akari doing silly faces at a camera.

No texting in class. we'll talk later...

The wisp looked up to her friend who shook her head in disapproval, mouth to put it away before she gets into trouble. While she maybe the oldest of the group, Iris was the leader and it usually seemed like she was the big sister sometimes. Chi sighed before placing her phone her her back pocket before looking back up at the teacher who continued with the subject. She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see the same boy handing her a book she forgot to pick up. they shared a quick smile for "Thanks and You're Welcome" before turning back to the class, though Chi continued to smile as well as two red spots on her cheeks.

The lunch bell rang as the students walked towards the cafeteria/courtyard. The Guardians however, always go to they’re usual hangout spot during and after school, Pinkie’s Ice Cream shop just down the street from the school. Lunch was usually an hour long for them so it gave them enough time to walk they’re, have some food, and then walk time just in time for next class. Along the way, they met up with Hozu who has just gotten out of PE class around the same time, having another glorious day of pummeling the students with dodgeball. Upon entering the cafe, they were greeted by Pinkie and her husband, Cheese Sandwich.

“Hey, guys!” Pinkie shouted across the diner. “The usuals?”

“You got it, Auntie!” Akari said, flashing a thumbs up. The group sat down at the front table, waving to Cheese who was manning the kitchen.

“Usual’s coming right up!” he called out as he began to prep the food at high speed before it sped out on the table in a mere ten seconds. While sipping on they’re drinks, Chi decided to bring up that little event in class earlier.

"Thanks guys." she said. "Again.."

"Where were you?" Iris asked. "And don’t say you got caught in traffic again. You missed our early study time in the library..again."

"I'm sorry guys. Its just-

"Lemme guess. you slept in again, didn't you" said Hiro leaning on his chair.

"No I did not!" Chi exclaimed.

Akari raised her eyebrow. "Chi.I can see you glowing purple even if your not that color."

"Okay maybe I did a little bit but I forgot Eclipse and had to run back and get him okay?"

"And lemme guess. You forgot to pull on the door again didn’t you?" Nori added, crossing her arms on the table.

"okay...maybe a little bit." she admitted, pinching her fingers.

"That explains the loud thump we heard after the bell rang."

"They way you walked into class did not look like a little bit" Gallant added.

"Leave it to Chi to be the late on the week before Graduation." Chrysalis replied.

"Gee thanks Chrysie" she muttered under her breath before taking another gulp of her milkshake. Iris sighed and placed a hand on the wisp.

"Look Chi. You can't keep doing this. All these excuses and absences is affecting your report. I just don't want you to repeat the year because you were late almost every day."

"Im so sorry, Iris. Its just these last couple months have been stressful for me. The finals prep, Sports Championships, and Eclipse. Not saying he is stressful but you know how much he loves us." she admitted before placing her hand over her sol. "But I promise I won't be late again from now until the last day. Wisp's honor."

"Thank you." Iris said with small smile. Right on cue,Pinkie brought out they're lunch for them and they all began to eat. Sometime after they finished though, Nori noticed Mai looked a bit giddier than normal.

“Um. Are you alright, starfish?” she asked. “You haven’t looked this excited since you're mom got you you’re own workshop for Hearths Warming.”

“Nori..What Im about to tell you is something that will blow my workshop out of this world!”

“Oh boy..” Hiro muttered. “Whenever she says that, that means irony is not too far behind.”

“What did you wanna show us?” Iris asked her cousin.

“So..you guys remember when I told you that I was working on a top secret project several months ago? Well its done!” She pulled out her Geo-Slate and turns it on. On her home screen was a new icon that had the image of what looked like a female head with an the chinese symbol for “soul” inside of it.

"Now check this out!" She pressed the icon and placed the Slate on the table and instantly the screen flashed and what looked like pixels began to come out of the screen. The group saw the pixels take shape and once they were in place, it glowed for an instant before revealing its form. The being appeared to have a body of a girl, around Akari’s age, with raven black hair, dark tan skin, and bright green eyes. She had on a purple toga and below the knee black boots. The team awed at the sight before them as the being looked up and smiled.

Hello, Guardians. My Name is the Magical Artificial Geo Generational Intelligent Entity but you call me-”

“M.A.G.G.I.E.!” Mai finished who giggled with excitement. “I finally finished her last night! And I wanted you guys to be the first to see her!”

Iris awed at the little being. She has never seen something like this before in her life. This was truly a sight to behold. “Wow, Mai..this is…”

Princess Avatar Iris. Age 19 Height 6’7 Weight 150 Ibs. Favorite Color: Purple, Favorite Food: Spicy Noodles with a slice of fresh lime on the side and extra soy sauce.

“Woah!” Iris said in shock. “How did she know all that?!”

“That’s part of her programming” Mai explained. “She’s a thing called “Artificial Intelligence”. Its something I learned while in the human world several years ago at Camp Everfree. Aunt Sci-Twi is a genius at this stuff. She’s not only very smart but also has feelings and emotions like us! She can even scan you to know all your information instantly! Here lemme show you. MAGGIE, Give me info of the Guardians.”

MAGGIE eyes changed to blue as she instantly began to scan to group, her database began to fill with dozens of info about them. After several seconds, her eyes flashed before giving a thumbs up to her creator.

“Now. Give me info about Akari.” she commanded.

“Princess Akari Blaze. Age: 18 Height: 6’2 Weight: 195Ibs.”

“Woah, Mai! That is pretty cool!” Akari said in amusement.

“Fun Fact: Up till 11th grade, she sang in the shower-“

“Pfft. Well everyone knows that!” Akari stated waving her hand.”

“-Mostly tothe theme song of her favorite radio show “PonyPuff Fillies”

The princess’s ears shot up in the air and quickly covered her face due to her intense blushing. The others couldn’t help but stare at disbelief or trying not to laugh, including MAGGIE.

“H-Hey! no one was supposed to know that!” she exclaimed through her wings… “and it was a catchy song, okay?”

“Wow, “Miss. Awesome Warrior Princess” likes a girly show!” said Hozu, giving her a friendly elbow bump.

“Oh shut it, Air head!” she snapped back.

“Come on, Sis. its okay.” Iris said, placing a hand on her shoulder. “It's not like its that embarrassing.”

Hozu tends to use Iris's toothbrush to brush his teeth

Iris looked at her boyfriend and gave him a look of disgust and anger, while Hozu's eyes shot open.

"Wait...that's your toothbrush? That explains why its still wet every morning."

dude...I told you yours was the dark purple one!

"All kinds of purple look the same to me okay?!" he said in defense. "They're like the exact same shade!"

"No they're not! Did you even go to school!?"

Funfact: Iris tends to pluck her own feather to use as a quill.

Iris squeaked at the sudden fact. “N-no one was supposed to know that!” she shouted, narrowing her eyes.

Chi, when no one is around, likes to shapeshift her hands into puppet versions of Lady Mare and Stal Noir

The wisp’s skin turned into a mixtures of lime-green and pink. “I-I get bored sometimes okay?”

Hiro Sato knows how to sing opera and when his sister away, plays cowboy with her hat.

Mai gasped “So THAT'S where my hat goes when I lose it!” she stares daggers at her big brother who sleeplessly smiles and blushes “I-I mean..cowpoines are cool. Who wouldn't want to be one, am I right Gallant?”

“You’re on your own, dude.”

“But I thought bros got each other backs?”

“That's for when the world is in impending doom. Family...that's a whole new cake to bake.”

“Did someone say cake?!” Pinkie said as she popped up behind the counter, startling the team. Even after all these years, they are still not used to her doing that.

“I think its time to turn her off, Mai.” Chrysalis said, a bit worried that she may be next one on the list of hidden secrets.

“Yeah. good idea.” Mai quickly agreed before she tapped a few buttons on her slate. “Sorry, Mag. got a few bugs I need you fix."

A few is an understatement. She replied You really dont wanna know what Nori does with Seaweed she shivered at the thought before she instantly disappeared in a flash of blue light. Mai sighed as she placed her geo-slate back in her backpack. “Sorry guys. I guess I need to make a few tweaks.”

“Eh. Its fine, Gal” Akari replied. "But you better delete everything she knows about me."

“I’ll see if I can fix her up this weekend.”

“Oh! Which reminds me!” Hiro exclaimed as he finished his burger. “Lets go over the plans for the party tonight! Is everyone ready?”

“Songbird and Rara will be on their way!” Nori confirmed.

“Gallant, Akari, and I will bring the refreshments.” said Iris.

“I will be taking pictures over the course of the event.” Chrysalis said. “Thankfully I got extra film last night after school. The shop was nearly sold out because of graduation.”

“And I’m the bodyguard" said Hozu before realizing his job at the party. "Wait why did I sign up for this? Why can I help with the pictures of something?”

“Because last time you did, nearly all my film was gone and it was YOU taking pictures of yourself at the beach party!"

“Hey I wanted to make sure it was operational okay?” Hozu protested.

"By wasting nearly all my film?"

"Well...that and also I needed some pictures on my Magi-gram page.”

“Sometimes I regret ever showing him that page” Iris whispered to Chi but noticed that she wasnt paying attention at all. In fact, she hasn’t even touched her food since it arrived besides her milkshake. “Hey, you alright, Bubs?”

Chi snapped out of her trance and looked up at her friends. “Oh! Uh yeah..I’m fine.”

“Great! Cause I hope you remember what you need to do tonight.”

“Actually Hiro...I won’t be able to come tonight. Something...important is happening.”

“Really? What’s happenin-” It was then Nori remembered. “Oh cuttlefish! It’s tonight!”

The rest of the team were confused at first but soon it hit them as they gasped and groaned. How could they forget this important day of they’re friend?

“That’s right. Tonight marks the anniversary of your....well species.” said Akari. “Im so sorry we forgot, Chi.”

"That's what you meant for being stressed out." Hozu remarked.

“Yeah and now I feel even more stupid now.” said Hiro “You know what? I'll move the party to tomorrow night or after the ceremony.”

“No no don’t do that.” Chi answered, still looking a little bummed. “Besides, I don’t think you’ll be able to afford Rara and Songbird pushing they’re schedule back a day. They are pretty busy.”

“But..We don’t want you to be alone” said Akari, wrapping her arm around Chi. “It just won’t be the same without you.”

“Guys I really appreciate it.” said the wisp “But really, you guys planned this for months and I dont wanna ruin it for you. Besides, I need to be alone for this.” She said as she finished her drink and placed her glass to the side.

Gallant became a little hesitant but got the courage to ask her. “Hey uh Chi…”

“Gallant..I’m doing okay…”

The unicorn was shocked at her reply. “Bu-But how did you know what I was gonna ask?”

“Dude. I’ve been hanging with you and Hiro since you could say the entire alphabet of both equine and ancient. Its not hard to see you know.”

“I..I guess. But seriously how are you?”

“Again..I’m fine..” the wisp replied before she felt a hand on her shoulder and look next to her to see Iris.

“Chi its okay..we're your friends.”

The wisp sighed in defeat. “Honestly, it still hurts. I know Its been 1200 years since they passed but...not a single day passes where I don’t miss them, especially the one responsible is still alive." she said clutching her fist and her skin turning a faint red before calming down and taking a deep breath. "Though I know they’ll always be with me, no matter what, but I just wish I could see them again. Just for a moment.”

She suddenly felt herself in a warm embrace by all her friends and family. The sudden but loveable embrace was enough to make her feel better almost instantly.

The only one who didn't hug however was Chrysalis. The changeling felt a little uneasy after what Chi said.

“Chi..Its okay. We cannot imagine what you’re going through but we know this.
You are a the strongest, bravest, funniest, and..”interesting” wisp/friend we could ever ask for.”

“Mhm!” they said in unison.

“Aww thanks guys!” she said with a smile. “But..do you ever think my loyalty is-”

“Nope!” Akari responded.

“How did you-oh right”

“They’re is not one moment since we’ve been together we ever doubted your loyalty. Ever since we first met I honestly couldn't imagine who would be the next element of loyalty after Auntie Dash but when you sacrificed yourself for me, Sunset, and Iris, I knew deep down that you were the perfect heir to the element no doubt. You’re family would be so proud of you. Not only forgiving the past and moving forward but also becoming a strong and brave wisp and honoring your species history.”

Chi couldn’t help but hug her best friend right then and there. She knew that wasn’t just some mushy talk to make her feel better but instead true words from a true heart. A true princess. She knew Akari always had struggles accepting her role as a princess but ever since the Friendship Festival, she changed, embracing her princess side more and accepting who she is. though she still had her tomboyish personality like Chi does. That will never go away.

Mai suddenly heard a buzz coming from her backpack and pulled it out to see MAGGIE on the screen

Sorry to disrupt the moment but practice starts in about five minutes

“Thanks, MAGGIE.” Mai said before placing her slate back inside. “We better get going guys.”

The team nodded and began to head out of the shop, waving goodbye to the Pie’s. Hiro began to walk out before he bumped into Iris.

"What?" he asked. He then noticed they're eyebrows raised. He let out a big sigh. "Oh right. its my turn. I knew that!" he said before zipping back inside to pay for lunch.

“So are you sure you’re okay with us continuing the party?” Chrysalis asked. Chi nodded.

“Its fine..don’t worry. You guys have fun.”

“Hey I know what will make you feel better, Bubbles!” Hiro replied after walking back out from the store. He pulled his hoverboard out of his backpack. “Last one to the school gets to clean the other one’s locker on the last day! Usual route of course”

“Oh your on, rich boy!” said the wisp, gaining her energy back instantly as she revved up her feet. “But you might as well get your gas mask and shovel ready because you’ll be 80 when you’re finished cleaning my locker!”

“I hope you know how to turn into a vacuum!” Hiro shot back before the two sped off at high speeds down the street, the other just rolling they’re eyes. Same old Chi and Hiro.

*(~)*

The earthbender was in the lead as he flew high over the streets of Harmony City, occasionally moving side to side to dodge incoming birds and spirits. Meanwhile Chi was a little behind as she ran as fast as her feet could carry her, she jumped and dodged as she sped by different people and ponies going about they’re normal day. She had to catch up with Hiro or else she’s gonna be coughing up sweaty gym shorts and socks for a week! It was then she came up with an idea. She quickly transformed into her wolf form and began to run on all fours, doubling her speed and strength. She easily ran past Hiro with no issues as he saw run by with his jaw dropped.

“Catch me if you can, Sat-OOF!”

As if karma was her best friend, she found herself running into an hooded man on the street, knocking him and her into a pile of cabbages, fortunately, thanks to Chi’s elastic soft body, it broke the man’s fall. The shopkeeper however wasn’t so lucky.

“My Cabbages!” he shouted. “You’re gonna pay for that!”

“Uh...Sorry about that.” she moaned as she helped the man up. “Are you okay, mister?”

“Y-yes I’m fine.” he replied as he dusted himself off. “But you should be more careful where you run.”

“Yes sir, sorry sir!”

The man however didn’t sound or look angry but simply chuckled. “Oh do not worry, Chi. But maybe you should consider racing when it isn’t lunch hour.”

“Eh heh heh. I’ll keep that in mind.”

“Hey! Are you gonna pay for these?!” shouted the shopkeeper. “Guardian or not I want payment for these cabbages!”

“Oh calm you’re wrinkles, Tai!” said the old man. “I’ll take care of this.”

“Oh no you don’t have to do that!” Chi protested. “I can take care of this!”

“No it’s quite alright.” he retorted before using his magic to pull out his wallet and payed the shopkeeper a few bits. “Besides, I’m just a old man. What else do I need all this money for? hehe.”

“Gee thanks mister!” Chi said before looking at her phone. “Oh shoot! I’m gonna be late. Again! Hey I gotta go but I promise I’ll make it up to you Mr….”

“Atlas.”

“Mr. Atlas. Thanks again! Again I promise I’ll make it up to you!” she shouted before racing off into the crowd. The old man watched as she disappeared into a blue blur of light. He then placed his hood back on and walked into the other direction.

“Hmm. I wonder....”

Throwback to the Past

While the Guardians were busy with school, on the side of town, Team Avatar Harmony were busy with another certain project. Not much has changed with the heroes since the friendship festival besides age. Mako now has a goatee while Bolin has a full grown beard. Asami. has already small traces of grey in the very back of her raven black hair and Queen Korra the same though its not as noticeable thanks to her silver-white hair. But even at an older age, doesn’t look a day over 20, same with her soul sister, Queen Twilight, who’s hair was starting to wave just slightly but not too much. The other elements have also shown some aging as well but all still look beautiful and attractive as if they were back in their teen years. Along with them was the retired Queen of Equestria, Leilani who still looked beautiful as ever as well as her daughters who have now become the new queens of Equestria in her stead.

On the other side of the hall, Nova and Sunset were helping moving stuff to different sections of the building. Sometime before the friendship festival, Nova had begun to show signs of aging as it began to catch up with him. A small beard was beginning to grow but he prefers it to be shaven just so it can be barely noticeable. As for Sunset, she still had the fire in her eyes and hair as she did all those years ago. She lowered own the boxes and blew her red strand of curly hair away from her face, wiping her sweat from it.

“That's the last of these.” she said as Nova placed down his piles of boxes next to her. He groaned and stretched his back, trying to get the strain from the carrying all those boxes out.

“Ugh. I these boxes are killing me!”

“Aww, is the big, strong, sorcerer a little tired from a couple boxes?” Sunset teased as she wrapped her arms around him, kissing him on the cheek.

“Ha Ha” he said sarcastically as he placed a hand on her cheek and gave her a small passionate kiss on the lips. “Says the wrinkly candle.”

“I hate you.”

“I love you too.”

“Yeah mind saving the love insults till AFTER we finish for today?” called Rainbow Dash as she flew in between the two, pushing them away slightly.

“Whatever you say, Crash.” Nova replied, which in turn got a punch to the arm.

“Okay you guys knock it off.” said Korra as she and Twilight flew down beside Sunset. “Lets save this for tonight alright? Nova?”

the sorcerer raised an eyebrow at the Avatar Queen “Wait why me?”

“Anyway…” Starlight began. “Is everything in the right place over there?”

“We just got the last shipment in a couple minutes ago.” Twilight replied. “I still can’t believe that there was that much stuff inside that little room.”

“Well remember they did find a storage bay underneath the floorboard.” Korra replied. “But honestly, I'm more surprised that this existed. I heard myths about a lost laboratory years ago but never thought it was real.”

“A lab used by Starswirl himself…” Twilight reminiscing the moment of discovery. “Research and spells which was thought to be lost was literally right under our noses! Ohhh! Just thinking about it makes my wings flutter!”

“Hopefully we don't have to drag you out of here like we did at the lab.” Nova muttered, which got him a jab in the side from his wife. “Hey!”

“Making a museum dedicated to Starswirl and the ancient history if Equestria was a great idea, you guys.” Mako said to Sunset, Starlight, Nova, and Sunburst. “

“Well we just figured since we had all this history lying around, why keep in sealed off rooms when we can just display it to all and have them see how the history of our home evolved. Of course safety spells included on the “bad stuff. Like the Alicorn Amulet and the remains of the Twilight Blade.”

“We got so much donations from all over Equestria.” Starlight brought. “Last week, Princess Skystar gave us a piece of the pearl from Sequestria and Scorpan let us keep his staff.”

“But let's not forget the crown jewel of this museum.” Twilight brought up as she flew over to the center of the room. There layed a crystal glass case that shined in the afternoon sun, prisms of light dancing around the room like little beams of rainbows. Inside the case, was a book but due to the millennial storage it lost its bright blue color and was more of a brown-bluish color though the symbol in the center was no denying that this was indeed the lost journal of StarSwirl the Bearded.

“I can’t believe we actually have Starswirl’s journal!” Twilight exclaimed, getting all giddy with excitement. “It was said to have been lost in the great Canterlot Fire along with the other half of his research and spells but it’s actually here! Right in front of us! Eee! I just wanna throw this case off and read it!”

“Woah Woah Woah! Easy there, Tiger.” Korra said as he placed her hand in front of her. “As much as I would love to see what Starswirl wrote, There is one thing in the way of doing that…”

Twilight’s excitement quickly died as it grew as she remembered. “Oh..right. The lock. Are you sure there isn’t a way to open it?”

“Unfortunately no.” Leilani said sadly. “Me and Nova tried every spell we could think of but nothing worked. It’s like a special lock was made that only Starswirl could open.”

“Yen Sid has told me Starswirl was very protective of his private writings” said Nova. “Whatever was in his journal must’ve been very important or very dangerous. Maybe he never wanted anyone to open it at all.”

“Aww.” Twilight moaned in agony. “I was so excited to see what he wrote before he vanished.”

“Hey look on the bright side!” Bolin chimed up, wrapping an arm around Twilight. “At least you can look at all of his other “unlocked” research. We did find a ton of stuff down there.

“Yeah. I guess.”

“Hey uh, Nightshade!” called a voice from the door. Nova turned to see a couple of workers carrying several boxes inside the building. “Where do you want these to be put?”

“Those can be placed right over at the entrance to the sorcerer exhibit!” he answered before his eyes caught site of a certain old box at the top of the pile. “Actually hang on!” He ran over and pulled a box from the top of the stack and carried it back over to the group. He placed it down and summoned a magical box cutter from his horn.

“What’s up honey?” Sunset asked.

“I just need to see if its in-aHA!” Nova shouted. Inside the box is what seemed to be various pieces of items. It ranged from old clothes to dolls and books. “I was wondering where this thing went!”

“What is it?” Korra asked.

“Back when Chi was still a young little wisp, I kept a box of all different types of stuff that she used to use or play with. Kinda like a memorabilia box.” Nova then proceeded to pullout a small silver coat. “This was a coat I gave her on her first birthday along with the necklace. She always wanted to wear my coat, even growing taller just to use mine so I wanted to give her own.”

“Aww thats so sweet!” Fluttershy said.

“Yeah” he replied before pulling out what seemed to be boots. “And these are boots I gave her to wear. I got sick of her walking barefooted and making a mess in the lab. Plus her feet stinks sometimes. So I gave her these. Didn’t even wear them for a day.”
“Lemme guess. She prefered flying instead of wearing them because they dragged her down?” Applejack guessed.

“You guess well, Einstein.” Nova chuckled before digging deeper inside and gasped at what he saw. “No way! I thought I lost this!”

He pulled out a wolf plushie...well what seemed to be a wolf plushie. Rarity couldn't help but nearly throw up at the sight of it. It was hideous. The eyes were in the wrong place entirely, the tail looked like it was about to fall off, an ear was already missing and the silvery blue color was now a dark grey-brownish fur.

“This was one of the first things I’ve ever gave her. She named it Mr. Wetnose. She would not put this thing down no matter how many times I had to pry it from her hands...or jaws”

Rarity couldn’t take it anymore. She may not be the element of honesty but she needs to say something.

“ Im sorry to interrupt but who DARED stitched this...this HORRIBLE thing together. Its like they started out well then they had a seizure ten seconds later!” Unbeknownst to her, the others, especially Sunset were giving her the cut throat gesture telling her to stop.

“Uhm….that would be me.” Nova said raising an eyebrow.

Rarity instantly regretted what she said as she turned red “OH! Uhm..I...sorry I meant it looks...um like you put effort...uh...oh dear.”

To her surprise though, Nova actually laughed “Ha ha! you’re cool Rare. Believe me it sucks. Chi was the exact same way when I gave her this for Hearths Warming.”

“Well not to worry, Nightshade. Rarity will have this fixed faster than Asami drinking an entire barrel of Cider in 5 seconds.”

“Hey! Its 5.5 seconds get it right!” she protested.

Nova handed the doll to Rarity before continuing digging deep inside the box and pulled out a pile of old drawings.

“Ah. yes. I definitely remember these. These were some of the drawings she did when she was young.”

“Wow…” Sunset was amazed by some of these drawings she did. “You never told me she was a drawer.”

“Well actually she wanted to keep it that way.” he replied. “She never considered herself to be the best drawer in the world.”

“Are you kidding?!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed. “These look awesome! Chrysalis would be so jealous!”

“Heh. Yeah I guess. She has been practicing for 1800 years.” he said before placing it back inside the box. He sighed. “Man this brings back memories. I still can’t believe how much she’s grown up.”

“Yeah.” Sunset replied. “She went from a wisp who lost her entirely family to a strong, loyal, and incredibly spunky young woman.” She wrapped an arm around her husband and gave him a kiss. “You raised her well.”

Nova blushed before returning the gesture.

It was then something popped into Mako’s head. “Wait..isn’t today the anniversary of her parent’s passing?”

The kiss ended as soon as it started as the couple looked down in sadness, they’re ears matching the current change of mood. Sunset sighed. “Yeah. we all volunteered as a family to go support her, even Eclipse but she insisted that she needed to do this alone. The best we can do is respect her wishes.”

“You know if Iris and the others asked yet?” Bolin mentioned.

“They probably did too and got the same answer.” Nova replied. “But knowing them they will find a way to support her no matter what. That’s Iris for you.”

“Don’t worry about Chi.” Twilight reassured. “Like you said yourself. She’s grown and if she needs to do this alone, then we accept that.”

“Oh believe me, I’m not worried about her.” the sorcerer. “Its just...when we first met, she never really showed any feelings towards her parents death. She remained a spunky spirit but whenever she saw Shade, her personality changed entirely like...like she was a different person. I never bothered to ask since I knew she would brush it off but..its been bugging me for awhile now. She just shrugs it off and I dunno why.”

Korra then placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled. “Nova. people grieve in their own ways, It could be right there or months afterwards. Remember when…”Korra choked for a moment before quickly swallowing it. “......remember when Tenzin passed away. Yes, we were all affected by this but while the kids and Pema were able to move on. Remember how Iris felt during that time?

Nova tried his best not to think of that day. He remember seeing the look in her eyes. seeing all the color and life vanish in an instant when she heard the news. Yes, he went away in peace in his sleep but it still a huge dent in everyone especially Iris since he was a big impact on her lives and while she may not show it, it was pretty obvious. She wouldn't eat, sleep, or even fly for days after the funeral. She was an entirely different person afterwards “It wasn’t until me and Mako sat down with her one day and I told her how I felt when Katara passed. She was like a second mother to me when I was in the compound in the south pole. She was kind, funny, strict but caring and loyal. Honestly, she was literally all the elements wrapped into one being before I met the girls. Seeing her past left a hole in my heart but then I realized soon after that she was never gone..she was always with me and all that she loved and that was the same for Tenzin.” She quickly wiped away a small tear before continuing. “Anyway, Chi is just like every other person. Who knows? Maybe tonight will be her night where she lets it out or it may not be but the main thing is you should respect her and give her some time alone.”

Nova sighed and nodded before giving a small smile. “Yeah. Thanks, AK.”

She was right, maybe she just needs some time to herself to grieve and tonight might be that night. The best he can is respect her wishes and support her when she gets back. He began to place the stuff back inside the box before he saw to his left to see Starlight and knowing the glimmer in her eyes she had an idea.

“Actually, You think you could ask to see if she wouldn’t mind if we….displayed some of these here in the museum? More so over at the Guardians section.”

“Hmm” Nova pondered as he rubbed his chin. “I mean I could ask her, I think she won’t mind.” I’ll ask her when she gets home tonight before she leaves.” He then picked up the box and got to his feet before looking at the clock in the main entrance hall “Welp I think it's time to head home now. Gotta get ready tonight. Pai Sho at 6 still, Sato?”

“You know it, Nightshade!” Bolin replied. “I’ve been practicing my secret move and it's time to put it into fruition.”

“You talking about the move that lost you the game last Saturday? Cause if so, you might as well give the trophy.”

Ha ha” Bolin sarcastically said getting a chuckle from the wives.

“Okay. I’ll see you later this evening, Sunny.” he said giving a goodbye kiss to her before waving to the others and walking out but as he got to the door he accidently bumped into someone, nearly knocking the box out of his hand.

“Oof!”

“Oh! Sorry mister!” said the figure as he grabbed him to keep his balance. By the sound of the voice it seemed to be a woman and by how she caught him with one hand she was pretty strong. Though it wasn’t a huge surprise since all the girls he knows are twice as strong as he is. Three times if you wanna count Applejack and Korra.

“Nah you’re fine.” he replied as he balanced himself. “My fault.”

“No no Its mine!” said the girl, who was revealed to be a security guard. “Its my first day on the job and im trying to get used to this but here I am screwing up. Gah! Im such an-”

“Hey don’t worry about it. It was an accident and accidents happen, alright?”

“If..if you say so.”

Nova smiled before realizing he was going to be late. “Hey I gotta run but it was nice to meet you uhhh.”

“Hadari. Officer Hadari.”

“Well it was nice to meet you, Miss. Hadari.” Nova said before walking off. “And thanks again.”

Hadari waved to the sorcerer before heading back inside, her innocent face turing now into a more sinister, smirk.

“No..thank you.” she whispered as she opened her hand to reveal a key card for the museum security.

Nova’s keycard.

update reguarding Shadow Play

View Online

Heyo all! your probably wondering about the next chapter for Shadow Play. Well Im here to address that. So lately I've been playing Kingdom Hearts 3 (awesome game btw go get it if you can) and focusing on school and home. After some recent events It had me thinking that I've actually been spending more time on writing fan fictions than focusing on whats important in my life right now and its been affecting me. So after some hard thinking and advice from a close friend, I've decided to give Shadow Play an indefinite hiatus till further notice. NO this does not mean its cancelled, I ain't quitting this project just yet, all I need is just some time to fix myself up and make things stable enough so I can do this. I may give some updates on how things are and probably work on some chapters and editing some during free time but nothing will be updated here on the channel.

So until then, Shadow Play is on hold and I will let you guys know about the future of the series. With that, have a great Saturday and God Bless!

Party Time?

Chapter 3: Party Time?

The final school bell rang for the day as the students ran off in different directions to get home. One of the last people to leave were the guardians who all looked exhausted after another day of graduation practice.

“Ugh my feet sore.” Hiro groaned as he sat down on the stairs rubbing his sole.

“Yeah? Well I think I got blisters!” Akari protested. “Why do we have to practice EVERYDAY for graduation? Its like two weeks away!”

“Akari, I already told you.” Gallant replied while holding a clipboard in his hands. Its takes approximately two week to get everything prepared and perfected for the ceremony. Just missing one practice can jeopardize the entire event!”

“Y’know I’m started to wonder if Gallant and Akari were switched at birth” Hozu whispered in Mai’s ear who couldn’t help but giggle slightly.

“Well maybe just for tonight, can you forget about that?” Hiro said as he got up the stairs. “Cause tonight is party time!”

The team cheered and whooed for their big party tonight! All except for one. Chi casual walked down the stair and began walking home not until Iris noticed her.

“Oh..right. You won’t be able to make it because..”

“Iris its okay.” said Chi, who gave small smile. “Again, you guys have fun.”

“Look if you need any support, we can call it off.”

“No!” the wisp exclaimed. “You guys have been planning this for months! I can’t let my issue ruin your fun. Besides this is something I need to this alone.” Chi placed on a hand on her shoulder. “You guys enjoy yourself. I’ll be fine.”

Iris sighed and nodded her head. Though deep down she knew she wanted to help her friend. It wasn’t always natural that she would be acting like this. She was always there for her friends, from cheering everyone up during a storm when they were younger to even comforting Iris when Tenzin passed away. She did so much for them, at least they can do is return the favor but if this what she wishes then she has to accept it.”

“Alright..If you say so.” she replied. “Tell you what? Lemme go pick up Eclipse from school and take him back to my place. That way you can head home get ready.”

“Really? You’d do that?”

“Of course! Besides, He’s been BEGGING for me to help him with his magic. I think its time to him to advance to the next level of his training”

Chi hugged her childhood friend. “Thanks, Petals.”

“Anytime, Bubs.”

The group waved goodbye to Chi as they went their separate way but as she walking away, she had no idea who was in her way as she accidentally bumped into someone and they both fell to the ground.

Chi rubbed her head and looked over and nearly squeaked. It was the same boy from class today. He wore glasses and had on an unbuttoned jacket. On his neck was a pair of geo-buds He was shaking his head from the sudden impact and tried to. Unfortunately he was listening to music and he had no idea who was in front of him while he was on his phone. He adjusted his glasses. The next thing they knew, they were both staring at each other.

“Uh excuse me!” they both said. “No Im sorry!” they said again. “No I am!” the boy simply began to blush as Chi glowed a faint green.

“Here. Need a hand?” he said as he pulled himself up and offered the wisp a hand. Chi was too frozen in place to even say another word but she was quick enough to jump back on her feet.

“Oh no! Im fine! Just clumsy little Chi! Heh heh” she said with a nervous laugh. The boys simply chuckled and helped her pick up her stuff. “Thanks, Akira.”

“No problem.” he said as passed her phone to her. “Hey..sorry about this morning.”

“Oh nah. Its fine.” she scoffed. “Not the first time I’ve been turned into a wisp-cake.”

“Are you sure you’re alright? Aku can be a real jerk sometimes but today was just a new low.”

“She just tripped me.”

“While you were half inflated. I’m just saying that girl is bad news.”

“Look. She’s not a big deal.” Chi replied, handing him his head. “The day when she hits a new low is when she hurts my friends but even she knows thats a big no-no.”

“Why? Because your best friend’s mom is queen?” he said with a small smirk.

Chi staggered. “W-well yeah but I was mostly gonna say that she’d had to go through me and my girls, Knuckle. Wisp.and Sandwich.”

Akira gave her an odd look. “Uhm. you do know you only have to hands right?”

The wisp smirk and commanded her wolf tail to appear, the tip of it turning into a large fist.

“Ah..right. Shapeshifter. Forgot.”

“So..you uh heading to the party tonight?” Chi asked as she put her stuff into her bag.

“Uhm...no unfortunately.” He replied. “Me and some friends of mine have some business to take care of before the end of school. What about you?”

“Who me? I..uh..also have some...business to take care of. More personal things but NOT THAT personal like relationship personal NOT that I’m in one because I have feelings for you WAIT NO. I meant mutual relationship like uh friends! right? hehehe”

The boy chuckled a bit trying not to sound like he’s laughing out loud. “Yeah.sure.”

Suddenly, the two heard what sounded like a small meow and looked down to see a black tanuki cat with white underbelly and bright blue eyes. Around its neck was a yellow neckerchief, glistening in the afternoon sun.

“Oh. hey there mister kitty.” she said with awe.”Where did you come from?”
“Oh uh..thats my cat.” said Akira as he bent down and picked the cat up and held it in his arms. “He likes to wait for me after school. His name is Mona.”

“Aww! How cute! Hey there, Mona. how are you?” she tried to give it a scratch on the ears but the car growled and tried to scratch her with its paws. Fortunately, she was able to retract her hand in time.

“Hey!”

“Mona, bad cat!” Akira shouted as he gave him a small bap on the head but not too much to actually hurt the little guy. “I’m so sorry about that. He’s really ...”protective” of himself.” he said while giving the cat a small glare.

“I can definitely see that.” she muttered as she rubbed her hand. Akira handed the last of Chi’s books to her before he felt his phone buzz off. He took it out of his pocket and looked at the text he got. The cat gave a small meow and tapped the phone.

“Hey, Look I gotta go. Been nice talking to you!” he said as he placed his cat down and began to run away from the school grounds.

“Yeah same! Good luck on whatever your doing!” she called back. “Oh hey! Aki-”

By the time she called out again he was already long gone in the crowd.

“Way to go Chi.” she said hitting herself on the head. “Stupid Wisp! Stupid Stupid Stupid!”

*(~)*

Neighbors were lucky enough to buy earmuffs when they can because the Sato residents was not making this night a forgettable one. All the senior class was at the household having the time of their lives. From chilling and playing in the pool to enjoy the snacks and pizza from Pinkie’s. Of course they had more healthy options for those who don’t want to wake up with a stomach ache in the morning. Over on the other side of the pool was a large stage, all set for the biggest moment of the night. Rara and Songbird’s first duet performance since Songbird’s first show at the Friendship festival a year ago. Everyone was excited for the main event.

Well..almost everyone.

The Guardians, while happy for everyone else, were not having the best night of their lives. While fellow classmates and friends hung out and played in the pool, some of them just stood off to the side, Well except for Hozu who was chilling in the shallow end by some girls telling some of his “adventure stories”. As for the rest, none of them was really feeling in the party mood, not even Hiro who was trying to put on his best party smile but to no avail. This party wasn’t the same as other ones because it was missing a key component. Something that made any party really come to life. That something, or in this case someone, was Chi.

Anytime there was a party, she was always there to lighten it up. Even the boring ones. Her shapeshifting powers made it truly come to life when she did crazy things like the time she turned into an octopus for kids and adults to ride on during the grand galloping gala or becoming a clown and turning into different balloon animals for Eclipse’s 5th Birthday. Everyone felt guilty, especially Hiro. She was missing out on the biggest party of they’re high school year and they had it on this very important day for her. He created the parties and made them fun but she was the one to just add that extra spark that was needed to fire it up a notch. Backstage, Nori was putting the finishing touches on Rara and Songbird’s outfits and hair for the big concert later that night. But while she was doing that, Songbird began to notice that she wasn’t talking as much as she used to. Nori was always energetic when she was around her idols but for some reason, today she looked distracted. So much in fact that she tied the bow on Rara’s head a little too tight, causing her to yelp in pain.

“Owch!”

Nori snapped out of her trance and gasped. “Oh barnacles! Im so sorry, Rara!” she exclaimed as she loosened the bow up a bit.

“Its alright, Nori.” she replied calmly. “At least we know thats not coming off during performance. Heh.”

“Yeah..right” Nori chuckled a little but her smile quickly went back to a frown. Songbird had enough. It was time to see what was going on.

“Nori. Dear.” she said to the merpony. “Is everything alright? You dont seem yourself tonight”

Nori was about to lie to her but she realized that it would be proven futile since she was acting down even when the two arrived. She sighed and lowered her head.

“I’m sorry guys. I’m really looking forward to you guys I really am. But...My friend. You remember Chi right? Well today is a very VERY important day for her and me and the others were dumb enough to have this celebration on the day of...well...her parents passing. We insisted on canceling the party so we can be with her but she said to continue without her but I have a feeling in my gut that I need to be with her. I know she said she wants to be alone but today is important and she needs to be surrounded by those she loves. Her family. But I don’t want to leave you guys and cancel everything after all the time you put aside even ending your tour early to come to u-”

Before she could say anything else, Rara placed a finger on her lips. She was hoping to hear the worst especially since she left her friend alone on this night. But when she looked up at the two singers, she didn't see anger or disappointment. Rara lowered her finger and opened her mouth.

“When I was a filly. Me and Applejack were close and best friends but you already knew that by now but I understand what you are going through. On the last days of camp me and AJ were at the climbing wall and one of the stones broke loose. Applejack lost her footing and fell to the ground, breaking her leg. And to make matters worse, I was to perform at campfire that night. So I was given a choice: continue to sing that night or go be with my friend. And you probably know which one I chose. But hey, it was well worth it. Even the other campers came over to the nurse station and we all say a metor shower together. Still to this day I never regretted that choice because if I chose the latter, I probably wouldn't be the same today.”

Nori tugged at her hair a little. “So your saying that I should go support her.”

“She’s not saying that you should.” Songbird replied. “I think she means what do you think is the right thing to do? Respect her wishes or be a friend and be there to support her”

The merepony sighed. She was right. She couldn't be here. Her friend needs her support. She was always there for her when she needed them the most. Now it was time to return the favor. She took her phone out and sent a quick text to someone before putting her phone away and getting her coat.

“Silver Lining will be here shortly to finish you guys up...if thats okay with you."

The two ponies looked at each other before flashing a wink at Nori.

“Go say hi to Chi for us will ya?’

Nori smiled and gave them both a hug but not too hard so she wont mess up her hard work. She ran out of the dressing room and pulled out her phone to send a text to Iris and the others but she didn’t need to when she bumped into Iris who was already with the others. The all looked at each other and didnt even need to say anything because they all had the same mindset as if they were one person. Nori looked to see if everyone was here but noticed someone missing.

“Where’s Hozu?”

“I thought he was with you?” asked Gallant.

“You know he can’t stand perfume.”

“Hey guys?” Hiro chimed in and tapped Iris shoulder. “I found him.”

Iris and the others turned around to see they’re half spirit friend lounging in the pool flirting with some girls in the class. Iris simply rolled her eyes and used her magic to levitate him out of drop him right in front of the team.

“Ow! Hey what the-” he looked up and nearly squeaked like a mouse when he saw who took him out of the water.

“Come on, Prince Charming. We’re leaving.”

“Leaving? W-well its about time. Those girls were kinda boring anyway. Only talking about books, science and some other school jun-oof!”

Akari threw his shirt at him to shut him. “Just put your shirt on and lets go.”

The Guardians began to head out while Hozu was looking down at his shirt and back at the team in confusion.

“What? What did I do? Did I say something bad? Wait up!” he shouted as he put his shirt on and grabbed his boots.

The blue wisp walked deeper and deeper into the forest, a bouquet of flowers in her hands as she approached a rather big tree with a now dead bundle of flowers, Her hair was now flowing freely in the nighttime breeze. She took up the old flowers that were there and placed a new bunch on the tree. Every few years she would go visit the site where her parents passed. What was left of her home was completely consumed by the everfree forest. Only thing left was that she could remember was a large tree that stood in the very center of her home.

"Hey Mom. Hey Dad.” she started. “Its me Chi bu I probably guess you knew that already..heh.” the wisp stayed silent for a little bit pulling at her hair.”

“Hey! Good news. I’m graduating in a couple weeks. Gallant and Iris has been working us to the bone to get the graduation march perfectly right. Sometimes I cant even walk after practice. Then there’s Hiro who really wants to fill the room with party cannons to shower us all in confetti but I think the last thing we need for graduation is too spend our first days of freedom cleaning the campus.” She chuckled a little bit to herself. “Nova and Sunset are doing alright. And Eclipse. Oh Eclipse is still the most precious bundle of joy you will ever see. That unicorn is so determined for his age. He’s already learning how to skateboard by yours truly. Don’t worry! He’s wearing a helmet.” she looked both ways before stretching her head to them. “But I’ve made exceptions some days. Thought they usually end with him getting all scraped up but he sees them as progress.” She couldn’t help but laugh at out at that memory. “You guys would’ve loved him so much. Especially you mom since he has your wild side.” her blue light began to fade a little to a grey color as her smile turned slowly into a frown.

“I really miss you guys.” her voice began to crack. “I miss you. I miss Shade. I miss everyone. I dunno why or if this was supposed to happen. If it was fate or...destiny but I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.” She could feel several tears began streaming down her face as she quickly wiped them off with her sleeve. “IIts not easy being the last of your kind you know. Going every night, knowing every day that Im the last of my kind. I really don’t know what can happen in the future. I could die anyday and thats it.I promised you I would be strong for you. For our people. And I still am but...I dunno if im strong enough. I was given the element of loyalty for a reason. I mean I was loyal to my family for all these years and I will do anything to protect those I love. Just like you taught me and Shade but..recently I really don't feel like Im...well...loyal. I just wish you guys were here, you would know what to say.”

Chi got up from her spot and gazed around at the site. On the outside everyone saw her as the girl who never worries and always bounces back from a tragedy but what they don't know is that deep down, the blue wisp was sad, lost, and broken. She held in her grief and sorrow for years bottling up inside to just hoping that it would just go away but like a disease, it just stayed around. She loves her friends and new family but there's still a hole left in her heart. One that could probably never be filled.

(I Miss You by Miley Cyrus)

You used to call me your angel

Said I was sent straight down from heaven

You'd hold me close in your arms

I loved the way you felt so strong

I never wanted you to leave

I wanted you to stay here, holding me.

Chi began to walk around the makeshift memorial site that she made over the years. If you looked closely, you could still see the remains of several houses and structures but now consumed by a millennium of mother.

I miss you, I miss your smile

And I still shed a tear every once in a while

And even though it's different now

You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go and I need you to know

I miss you

The wisp continued to pour her heart out as memories began to flash before her eyes. From the day she was brought into the world, meeting her older brother, learning how to shapeshift for the first time.

You used to call me your dreamer

And now I'm living out my dream

Oh, how I wish you could see

Everything that's happening for me

I'm thinking back on the past

It's true that time is flying by too fast

She transformed into her wolf from as the moon shined down on her like a spotlight on stage, her bright blue fur added a beautiful blue glow to the moonlight as she continued walking through the forest recalling some happy moments in her young life including some memories with Shade. On the outside he may seem aggressive, easily annoyed, and sometimes a little grumpy but like Nova, deep down he’s as soft as a teddy bear and is always ready to hang out with her sis. Even during the bad time when they separated, she knew deep down Shade was still that soft teddy bear she hugged every night before bed or every morning she woke up and this proved it when he was willing to give up his own life to save her’s. Even after everything he did.

I miss you, I miss your smile

And I still shed a tear every once in a while

And even though it's different now

You're still here somehow

My heart won't let you go and I need you to know

I miss you

Chi ran through the last remaining trees as she approached a cliff side looking over what was once her beautiful home. Where nature now resides used to be an amazing place for wisps can live peacefully that was ruined by someone who wanted nothing but power and respect. Although she has forgiven Tirek for what he’s done, it was not only because her parents would want her to but also she knew deep down it was the right thing to do but it still didnt change the fact about what happened during and after the flames has settled.

I know you're in a better place, yeah

But I wish that I could see your faces, oh

I know you're where you need to be

Even though it's not here with me

I miss you, I miss your smile

And I still shed a tear every once in a while

And even though it's different now

You're still here somehow

My heart won't let you go and I need you to know

I miss you

Sha la la la la, I miss you.

Chi sighed and laid down on the grass looking into the sky. She closed her eyes so she could focus on hearing the sounds of the night before she sat up and heard rustling in the bushes down the hill. She growled before she smelled a familiar scent and raised an eyebrow. It almost smelled like that cologne Hiro always put on before a party and it would stink up the entire place because of it.

Wait...it couldn’t be.

“Hiro?”

At the sound of the name, several figures began to emerge from the bushes, the moonlight shining on them as they were revealed to be the rest of the Guardians, still in they’re party clothes.

“Guys? What are you doing here? Your gonna miss the party!”

Iris stepped forward “Yeah. we know.”

“Bu-But all that planning you guys did. I said I would fine without you guys.”

“We know Chi.” said Akari as she walked over to her. “But it wasn’t the same without you.”

“Your our friend, Chi.” Gallant added. “Its the right thing to do. Us being there to support you is more important than some party.”

“Yeah. Besides, its just some party. We can always have another later.” Chrysalis said.

“What matters right now is us being here with you.” said Mai.

“You guys were there for me when Tenzin passed away,” said Iris. “Especially you. You and Hiro would spend all day trying to make me laugh or even crack the smallest smile in anyway possible. Even after Hiro left for home, You promised you weren’t gonna leave the castle until you have completed your mission to make me, even if it took all night. And uh….you kinda did. So what im trying to say is, were staying here with you and you can’t stop us.

Chi was beginning to feel tears coming out as her friends surrounded her but she then noticed Hiro standing still a ways from them rubbing the back of his head. She turned back into a human and walked over to him.

“Hiro?”

The earthbender sighed. “Hey..look dude. Im really REALLY sorry. I was just so busy about making this night a night to remember that...I completely, well, un-remembered your night. I hope you can forgive me.

Chi walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder. By the look on her face, Hiro thought he was gonna get a mouthful of fist, and that theory was proven as her hand enlarged to the size of basketball. He gulped and closed his eyes to await his fate but instead of his face getting punched, he felt his head instead getting rubbed vigorously, messing up his clean hair.

“Ow! H-hey! You're ruining the finish!” he laughed.

“Haha! Consider that payback.” Chi said as finished giving him a nuggie and embracing him in a big hug. “But yeah. We cool. You were always a one to forget things.”

“That is true” he replied with chuckle.

“Plus that party was probably boring without me of course.”

“Yeah. it kinda was.” Hozu whispered to Nori, only to get a foot to the knee. “Ow! Watch those heels!”

Chi then stretched her arms out and embraced the team. “Oh I love you guys so much!”

“We’re family, Chi” Iris said. “No matter what happens we will always be here for you.”

“Pinkie swear!” Nori added.

The wisp could feel her body glowing brightly as she felt they’re love and embrace from them. Even after she lost everything she gained almost everything. Maybe this was fate. Maybe this was destiny. Maybe she was wrong but in the end all her sadness and worries melted away like snow. Because her family was here for her. No matter what.

Chapter 4: Last Surprise

The museum was quiet that evening, the only noises being made was the sound of footsteps and flashlights flicking on and off and occasionally the sound of mumbling between guards. It was once again another boring, dull night at the still being renovated Starswirl museum though tonight felt a little extra crowded as there were several more guards on duty some to their dismay as some had weekend plans. A couple guards were chilling by the entrance chatting about everyday life while others were by the main desk playing some cards one of guards brought over. For a night at the museum it was pretty quiet.

Or so they thought.

One of the guards, looking around a middle-aged man let out a yawn and scratched the back of his head, taking his daily patrol through the main hall where stood in its case the journal of Starswirl the Bearded himself, the cover shining in the moonlight. “Man. I should be enjoying the night life right about now.” he moaned. “Today was supposed to be my day off but noooo. The queen and her friends had to bring in all these artifacts today of all days and only NOW they need extra guards for the night. I just wish this night got a little more interesting.”

He was about to check out his phone before he noticed a figure standing in the distance over by the Guardians of Harmony display. He picked up his torch and shone it upon the mysterious figure. By the looks of the body, it is no denying that this was indeed a female, a curvy but still slightly muscular one at that. She had on what looked like a red jacket, what looked to be a black skin tight pants underneath with shiny black boots.

“Uhm. excuse me ma'am?” said the guard. “The museum is closed. I'm gonna have to ask you to leave.”

The figure didn’t say a word or moved a muscle as she simply continued reading the exhibit. The guard figured she probably didn’t hear him so he spoke a little louder.”

“Ma’am? I said the museum is-”

“Shhhh”

The figured placed a finger on his lips to silence him. Slowing turning her head, she revealed her slightly tan-orange skin, shiny red lips and ocean blue eyes with raven black hair with a streak of white going down a bang, all tucked away in the crimson red hat that matched her outfit. Sticking out each side were a pair of what looked like to be wolf ears. The guard nearly fainted from her beauty but quickly regained his consensus.

“Im trying to read.” she replied. “Its not everyday you get to learn about each of the Guardians of Harmony.” She brought him over to the case of what appeared to be the Staff of Sacanas and the Storm King’s armor still in stone and shattered. She stood behind him, wrapping her hands on his shoulder which sent a shiver down his spine.

“Like this, The staff here-”

“Uhm, Ma’me thats just a model”

“Well duh. Why would you keep such an objec thtat has the power to absorb all kinds of magic AND bending alike? Even spirit energy like that wisp girl. What’s her name again? Key? Li?

“Uhm...Chi?”

“Right! Thats it! She’s been considered to be one of the most powerful of the guardians right?”

“U-uh yeah right. She’s pretty cool.”

“I bet she is.” said the girl. “And you know what else can be cool?” She leaned in his ear and whispered lustfully. “Is having this night to be unforgettable.”

This was enough to snap the kid out of her trance as he was already a married man. “Well I'm afraid that t-tonight's not the night, Ma’am.” said the guard. “I’m afraid your gonna have to leave.”

The girl put on a pouty face and sighed. “Fine but can you do one thing for me before you let me out.”

“And what’s that?”

The figures eyes turned from blue to emerald green and she flashed a smile to him. “Don’t scream.”

Before he could reply, he felt a brute force hit him in the throat. Not enough to choke him to death but enough to knock the air out of him. Next he felt a wave a pain as she hit both his legs in places where he lost balance and fell to the ground. He tried to reach for his radio but she knocked it out of his hand, took his torch to his face, knocking him out instantly. She grabbed the keys from his belt and quickly lock the doors where the other guards were. She sighed and took off her jacket and hat revealing her shiny black catsuit and her black tail with a white tip. Pressed her ear and began to speak.

“Heading into Main Level. Await confirmation.”

She opened the door into the main exhibit hall where it had several guards. They all turned towards the sound of the door and shined they’re flashlights.

“Hey boys. Why don’t you take the rest of the night off and I’ll take it from here. What do you say?”

Instead of answering, the guards pulled out their taser sticks and clubs ready to take her down.
“Aww now that no way to treat a lady now is it?”

One of the guards in response began to charge at her with his taser. The girl rolled her eyes and adjusted her suit.

“Fine. If you insist.”

He jabbed the stick at her but she was able to grab it and fliped him with only her one arm to ground. Another guard came after her and she used her elbow to jab him in the face before striking him with the taser. Two more guards came after her as she grabbed a club, knocking one of guards to the ground and the other tasing him unconscious. She then did backflips and hit two guards in the neck, knocking them out instantly while kicking one to the stomach knocking the air out of him. Finally for the last several, she reached into her suit and pulled out a small bottle, doing a familiar motion with her hand, several drops of water flowed from her finger. With a quick motion, the drops turned to small sharp spikes of ice and she flung it at each the guards necks. After several seconds, they all fell to the ground simultaneously. She smirked and fixed her hair before pressing the ear piece.

“Did anyone time me?”

“30 seconds. I could’ve done better.”

“Yeah sure you would”

“Please tell me you saved some guards for me?”

“Sorry Doku. Got kinda carried away.” she replied. “But don’t worry, if police comes down and gets us. You gets first dibs.” She headed to the main entrance and pulled out a keycard. Nova’s keycard. She swiped it and instantly the door unlocked but when she looked outside, no one was there.

“Uh. guys?” she called.

*SMASH*

The wolf girl let out a shriek, her fur and tail sticking up as something shattered behind her. She quickly turned around to see that a large chunk of the skylight from above was cut through and smashed into millions of pieces. Next thing she saw was eight figures dropping from the moonlit sky and landing on the ground simultaneously, all appearing to be anthro animals the vas majority being wolfs like the girl.

The first was appeared the be the youngest of the team, having having short dark orange hair light tan skin and two wolf ears pearkly sitting on top of her head. She had on a black and grey sash, both covered with different objects and gadgets and a brown jumpsuit with black boots and belt and yellow eyes.

The second was a dark pink skin and has a scorpion tail but still has wolf ears. He had three clawmarks under his bright blue eyes and short dark red hair with a blue streak going through. He had on what looked liken half a shirt, still having the ripped marks. He also had on dark purple pants and cuffs with sharp metal spikes.

The third looked like to be the second shortest of the bunch with dirty yellow hair and what appeared to be half the face of a badger with grey eyes. She had on a beige shirt that was long sleeved but cut at the bottom showing her midriff. She had on green pants and was barefoot with two black anklets, one having the same scar symbol the pink one had.

The fourth was a dark skin wolf with light brown mohawk hair, ears, and tail. He wore a dark brown jumpsuit with a yellow v-neck and brown boots. If you look closely, his eyes looked much blurier than the others, indicating he was blind but still manage to move normally.

The fifth was probably the tallest in the group having dark skin but snow white hair and a headband with the symbol of their team. He work a dark red shirt with white marks on each side and black pants and boots. On his back was a bright red sword with each crossguard having his eye color, which was blue and yellow.

The sixth may look like a young kid but he’s actually the oldest of the team. He had on a black mask and yellow neckerchief and blue eyes. His body looked almost like a cat, having a long black tail with a white tip. He wore black pants and a black t shirt with exposed his long black arms with paw-like hands. On his waist he wore a utility belt which had the symbol on the front

The final member seemed to be really dressed for the occasion having on a long black coat, black shoes, red gloves and a white mask with black markings on it. His heels clapped to the floor as he took step by step, his blue tail hovering behind him. By the way how he walked and dressed, it was no assumption that he was the leader of the pack.

“You couldve just waited at the door like I told you too!” said the girl wolf as she adjusted his now messed up hair and tossed the card aside.

“Sorry Hadari.” said the leader. “We were standing by the door but you how Doku can be.”

“Eh hehe. Sorry” Doku apologized, rubbing the back of his head, Hadari rolled her eyes.

“You know I probably would’ve done this quicker if I was chosen to sneak in.” said the tall black wolf, who was named Bulkan.
“You probably would’ve screwed it up and ruined the entire operation the way I see it.” said the short brown wolf, his name being Tiupan or Pan for short.

“How can you even see? You’re blind!” Bulkan shot back.

“You forget that I can see with my ears.”

“That still to this day doesn’t make any sense and you know it!”

“Alright enough!” shouted the cat as he stretched his paws out and split the soon to be brawl between the two. “You can whine about who’s right later, right now time is of the essence! Kam?”

“Already done.” replied the thief and she put the finishing touches on her device. “Cross paws...or fingers”

“Are you sure this will work, Kam?” questioned Hadari. Knowing past experience, Kaminari’s inventions tend to backfire in the team's faces. Sometimes literally.

“Guess were about to find out.” she said as she activated a button on her watch which caused her boots to extended a couple feet in the air, just enough to get to the top of the security camera. She placed what looked to be a usb drive into the slot on the slide. At first nothing happened but then the flashing green light turned red and the camera shut down, as so did the other ones in the room.

“Yes!” she exclaimed. “Museum is ours!”

“Good work, Rocket!” called out Nadare from below. Ciya, who doesn’t speak as much, gave a thumbs up to Kam, or her codename: Rocket.

“So. you guys want to have your vegetables first or just skip to the dessert?”

“You know how much I love my cake first.”

Hadari smirked and led the group to the center of the room where the book layed, being careful not to set off any invisible alarms.

“There it is.” Kaminari awed. “The final piece.”

“Just gimmie the word boss and I’ll SMASH that glass hehehe!”

“No Doku. Remember what we talked about.”

“Aww phooey.”

“Aww lighten up. Ring! Besides, when we have this were gonna be long gone and not even the royal “highness” will be able to find us.” Bulkan said as he nudged his arm a little. “He’s been ichting for a fight for awhile give him this okay?

Nadare sighed. Even though he wanted to do this with no trace of evidence, he did have a point. But then again, Mako and the others have come close several times to catching them in the past though but now that their mission is complete, they’ll be completely off the grid so they’ll have no way to track them down now.

“Im sorry, Doku. not today.” he replied. Doku frowned as his ears lowered. “Though once we have this, you can do all the smashing you want.”

“Ohhhehehhehehe”

Nadare then nodded to Mona who then jumped on his shoulder. Stretching his paws, he opened her claw out and began to form a circle on the glass. Once formed, he casually placed his paws on the circle and gently lifted it off and tossed it aside. He reached in and grabbed the book with no problem at all and handed it to Nadare.

“Piece of cake.” he smirked. “As usual.”

The team gazed upon the remains of StarSwirl’s journal. The last piece. For years, the Shadow Claws had only one goal in mind, to find Starswirl’s journal and uncover the secrets that he left behind in them. The last several years however were a dead end for them since no one knew what happened to Starswirl’s journal. Some say it was lost in the Great Everfree Fire hundreds of years ago while others said that it found by some pony and was never seen again while few said that it was taken to his grave but some years ago while clearing out the old Sorcerer archive, they found a small box full of some of his prized and important poessions, on the very top was his book. Since the news broke, the Claws have been after the book, planning and strategizing how to take it and leave without a trace. So far luck has been on their side and by how things look at that moment, luck was definitely an ally.

“Well done, team.” Nadare said flipping the books in his hand.

Bulkan by the looks of it was getting angsty by just looking at the book. “Well come on! Put the pages in before-”

Suddenly there was a loud beeping coming from Kam’s watch. She looked up and gasped.

“Uhh guys. I think we need to hold off on the celebration.”

“Huh?”
“Whoever made up this security system really knows how they’re stuff! I can’t hold off the anti virus forever.”

“And your just telling us this now?” Bulkan said in his teeth?

“Hey I didnt know this crummy museum would have state of the art security, especially after seeing Hadari take out those guards!”

Ciya tried to break them up but Nadare got to them before she did.

“Alright you two enough!” he shouted. “We can discuss this once we are out of here. Ciya, get us out of here!”

Ciya nodded and used her earth bending to create a pillar to lift them out of the hole.

“Wait!” Hadari called before pulling something else out of her suit and tossed what appeared to be a card to the box below. Landing perfectly on the platform the book was laying on.

“I think its time for them to know we’re back. Don’t you think?” she asked her leader. He gave a sly but evil like smile.

“Damn right.”

The team then disappeared into the night, just as the alarm went off inside the museum. As the sirens wailed, an old man looked on from the quiet city street before turning around and heading down an ally.

*(~)*

Back in the forest, the kids were heading back into the town, chatting about things typical late teens/young adults would talk about.

“Okay I got one.” Hozu said. “Would you rather, Kiss a thousand year old mummy or swim in a pool full of poison joke?”

“Kiss the mummy. All the way.” Akari. “The last time we got into some poison joke, I always lit my mane on fire.”

“Im going with Akari on this one too” Chi replied. “My shapeshifting would be out of control and I know some of you do not want to wipe me off the walls again.”

Gallant shuddered. “Please do NOT remind me of that. Took me hours to get you out of my hair.”

“Okay my turn.” Chrysalis said. “Would you rather, eat a bowl of shattered crystals or take a bath in hot lava?”

“Crystals.” Iris answered.

“Bath in lava.” Hiro replied. I can just create a earth skin to protect while relaxing. Powers of earthbending baby!”

“That is until you take off the skin and see your body is tanned more than Mai on beach day.” Gallant added.

The firebender narrowed her eyes at the unicorn. “I thought I told you to never speak of it again.”

“Alright Alright one more.” said Akari as she began thinking of one. “Okay. Would you rather, Crossdress for an ENTIRE month or Taken back to the day when you were asked out on a date but its the worst date you ever had.”

“Jeez Akari you are brutal with these.” Hozu commented before thinking. “Hmm...I choose..Crossdress. I think I can pull off Iris’s outfit.

Iris scoffed and waved a hand. “Oh you wish, water boy.”

“I’d say...Take the date. Me and Akari has a rep for bad dates.”

“He has a point” Akari shrugged. “Never forget Hearts and Hooves Junior year dance.”

“Chi what would you choose?” Hiro asked but noticed she wasn’t paying attention but gazing off into space, with the look of dreamy eyes. “Uh..Chi?”

“I DON'T HAVE A CRUSH ON HIM!” she blared out before catching herself and covering her mouth, blushing. “I mean uh...Crossdress?”

The others looked at her strangely.

“Ooookayy then.” said Akari who quickly shook it off and got back to the game. “Okay now wh-”

“Wait wait hold on” Hiro interrupted and eyed on the blue wisp who was now hugging herself as if she was cold from the night breeze. “Chi..is there something you need to tell us?

“W-what?” she sputtered. “W-what are you talking about I got n-nothing to hi-hide especially not having a crush on Akira WHO IS totally not cute I MEAN HE IS but not to me BECAUSE HE’S hot I MEAN NOT MY TYPE because I dont have time for cute and handsome spirits as of now because I have more important things to do like stalking I MEAN walking close to HIM TO SCHOOL...hehehe.” she giggled. As if on cue each one of them raised an eyebrow.

"Girl. You're pink. big time."

Chi looked down and noticed that her bright blue skin was now a bright pink, a wisp version for blushing. She sighed, admitting defeat. “Okay...you got me. I mayyyyyyy have a small eeny tiiiiiny crush on Akira.” she confessed, shrinking little by little as if to match her sentence. “But im not 100% in love with him alright?”

“And lemme guess.” Hiro stated. “You bumped into Akira, started bumbling words out of your mouth, then didn’t even bother asking him to hang out?”

“Yeah...I mean no I mean...something like that.” Chi answered, already starting to feel flustered again as she got hotter. “And I didn’t bump into him. We just were..distracted is all. He's just a friend."

“Riiight a friend. Wow you're even worse than Mai with Lu.”

“Hey! That was one time! One!” she protested. "And are you begging me to remind you about you experience with Liu-"

"Shhhhhhh shhh shh" Hiro replied placing a finger on her sisters mouth. "We don't need to bring that up, alright?" She responded with a small flame exiting her mouth and burning Hiro's finger, though not enough to hurt him but enough where he had to suck on his finger for a while to numb the pain.

“Well its not like I was gonna ask him to the party. We both had stuff to take care of this evening anyway.”

“Okay Okay fair point.” Akari said. “But what about the next time you get “distracted” hmm?” she said narrowing her eyes and giving her a sly smile.

“W-well I-”

“Girl please!” Mai exclaimed. “Stop trying to act normal. Its okay to tell us.”

“But come on, darling. You? Keeping this from us?” said Chrysalis.

“I didn’t mean to-”

“I’ll say!” Iris chimed in. “Now that I think about it. Whenever I see you close to him, you head starts spinning in circles. Like a wolf chasing its tail!”

“Hey thats not-!”

“Honey, you are up in your gills in something that’s for sure!” said Nori as music began to fil the air.

“Oh boy…” muttered the wisp.

She’s in love!

She’s in love!

Shoop, shoop

She’s in love!

Yeah, yeah!

The gang, even, Chi, burst out into a fit of laughter. To some it sounded like they were picking on the poor wisp but once you got to known them, it was all in good fun to tease family. Well to a certain point that is. Once they got everything out of they’re system, they got back up and began to calm themselves.

“You guys are such jerks.” Chi said as she tried to catch her breath. “But seeing how I was one too, I guess this makes us even?”

“I guess you can say that” Iris answered as she adjusted herself. “However, were being serious. We’re here for you, Chi. Weather it be for support or to help get over your first crush in 1800 years.”

“Aww. Thanks guys. I really appre-” Chi suddenly stopped herself as something caught her ear.

“What is it?” asked Gallant. Chi quietly shushed him and turned her ear into a wolf’s to get a clearer sound.

“I..I think were not the only one’s here.” she whispered. “Come on.”

The group quietly followed her towards the source. The more they got closer, the more they began to hear what she was hearing. It sounded like a group of people arguing over something. Once they were close enough, they all ducked behind a crowd of bushes and got a better look at the gang, all dressed up in black and dark colored clothing.

“Mission Accomplished Boys!” said Bulkan.

“Ahem!” coughed Hadari. The jackal rolled his eyes.

And girls…” he said, his voice oozing with sarcasm and not even a little once of care.

“Oh please, you probably wouldn’t have gotten one page if it wasn’t for us!” said Kaminari.

“Page?” Akari questioned. “What page?”

“Keep quiet.” Hozu reminded her.

“In fact, if it wasn’t for me you probably wouldn’t have all those cool gadgets that you have on your body!”

“Yeah..because half of them don’t even work.” muttered Doku.

“Hey I heard that!”

“Besides, Doku. You almost made us lose our chance with the third piece of the journal!”

“Journal?” Gallant wondered. What journal are they talking about.

“All right you guys enough!” Nadare called out. “What matters now is that we got what we need as well as…this

Nadare held the book up into the sky as the moon shined down at the cover. Iris squinted her eyes but they widened in shock almost instantly.

“It...it can’t be. Its in the museum.”

‘What is it Iris?” Nori asked.

“That’s...thats Starswirl’s journal! The same one at the museum!”

“Wait. you mean the Starswirl journal?” Chi asked in which Iris nodded. “As in the one that Nova found?”

“The same.” Gallant answered as he got a better look from his angle. “But...how did they get it? Its heavily guarded.”

“Might be the same reason how they got those other pages too.” Akari pointed out. “Don’t you see? These are the same guys that stole from those other museums and libraries years ago!”

“But it can’t be them…” said Mai. “They said they just disappeared. They could be some wannabes that got lucky.”

“I don’t think that’s the case here.” said Iris. “Wait...what are they doing now?”

“Well what are we waiting for?” Mona squealed. “Put them together! I wanna see the treasure!”

“And we all know how you are when it comes to treasure.” Tiupan reminded the cat.

Nadare pulled out the other pieces of the journal and open the book to the page where a single piece laid inside in what appeared to be a map with writing. After adjusting each piece, He carefully inched them together before they touched each other. Almost instantly, a bright blue light emerged from where the pieces merged, causing everyone, even the Guardians, to cover their eyes. The light faded to reveal that each page has formed what to be a map. Nadare picked up the book and took a gander at the newly formed map, which gave off an ominous glow and looked almost holographic when shined under the moon.

‘Well..that was a surprise.”

“So we did all that work ...all those years ...for a map?!” Doku exclaimed. “I did no smashing, no bashing, and no tearing people apart for a stinking MAP?!”

“Calm yourself, Venom.” said Bulkhan. “It's what on the map that will lead us to the treasure. Now we just gotta find out how to activate this map.”

“Activate? What are they saying?”

“I dunno.” Chi replied, but its time to put this little treasure hunt to an end.” As she got up and was about to zoom in to steal the book, Iris used her wing to stop her, unaware that doing so caused a small burst of wind to blow in the direction of the Shadow Claws, catching the ear of Tiupan which twitched.

“Were being followed.” he whispered.

“What?” Kaminari replied. “No were not. I check the entire perimeter. There’s no way were-”

Tiupan placed a finger over her mouth to shush her. “I never doubt my instincts.”

“Uh oh.” whispered Iris.

With the simple push of an arm, he summoned a great gust of wind that blew all the leafs off the bushes the guardians were hiding in. As both teams faced each other, eye to eye, they all jump up and got into battle positions, Bulkan pulling out his sword lighting it on fire and Kaminari extended what looked to be a staff, surrounded by electricity while Akari and Iris spread their wings and summoned a ball of fire in their fists.

“Like I said. I never doubt them.”

Hadari got a better look at the kids and her eyes widened when she adjusted to the darkness of night. “Wait a second. Nadare these are the Guardians!”

“I know..” he replied. “Which is why I’m only gonna say this once. Turn around and go back home. We don’t want any trouble.”

“And were gonna say this once.” Iris shot back. “Give us the Journal and turn yourselves in or else..”

“Who are you?” asked Gallant. “And why do you have Starswirl’s Journal?”

“Again with the questions.” muttered Doku. “Seriously, what do you think this is? An interrogation?”

“Don’t worry, they'll be more where that came from when you’re taken downtown.”

Nadare sighed. “Listen kid. You wouldn’t understand but we need this journal. Something here that can help us. Which is why were asking kindly for you to step aside

“And were asking you to kindly hand it over, Whoever you are.” said Chi, ready to use her super speed if any of them get any ideas.

“Nadare.” he said. “Im Nadare.”

“Well, Nadare. I’m sure you wouldn’t want my mom and dad getting involved in this.” Akari threatened.

“Oh believe me, Princess. All of us know each other quite well.” Bulkan replied. “Why, If im not mistaken, your dad was so obsessed with taking us down he almost lost his mind, Am I remembering that correctly?”

Akari growled in response while Bulkan gave her an evil smile oozing with venom. Gallant placed a hoof on her, calming her down before she could do anything stupid.

“One more time...stand down now”

“One more time...walk away now.”

The two groups stared daggers at each other, waiting to see which one would pull a fast one. Not a single person or wolf taking their eyes off each other. Akari and Gallant digging their hooves in the ground ready to charge.

“Guess we dont have a choice.” Nadare replied. “You know the drill, team. Non-fatal, but don't go too easy on them either.”
As if on cue, the seven thieves scattered and began to attack the Guardians, who in turn, spread out and began taking them on. Gallant and Akari went head on with Tiupan, firing magic blasts, air, fire, and hooves towards him but as if he was the wind itself, he dodged every move that came at him, even from behind when Akari tried to knock him down with a kick, he seemed to have noticed or in this case heard her coming and dodged to side just enough to let her kick Gallant right in the face.

“Ow!”

“Sorry, honey!”

“You gotta be quicker than that, Princess.” he taunted as he gestured her to come and strike him again. Now getting really ticked off, she came charging at him trying to knock him off his feet but again, his counters and reflexes were so fast and light as if he was the air and she was pushing nothing.

“How is he dodging my every move?” she thought.

Chrysalis and Mai weren't really having any luck with their opponent either as Kaminari and Ciya were pretty good at dodging. Mai blasted a fireball at Kam who quickly dodged it before cracking her electric whip, which was also her tail at the firebender, who fortunately, dodged it but didn’t notice Ciya from behind who caused her to trip on a small bump of rocks made by her. Chrysalis charged in to Ciya but was knocked out of the sky by Kaminari’s whip, landing on top of Mai, which knocked the air out of her.

“Better watch your step, honey.” Kaminari laughed as she high fived Ciya who gave a thumbs up afterwards. The two growled in response and quickly got back up to continue fighting.

Hiro and Nori were not having any luck either with their opponents, Doku and Hadari proved to be not only nimble on their feet but also very dangerous. Hiro tried throwing a rock at Doku, but the scorpion/spider wolf shattered it to pieces with a single punch of his fist. Nori tried using water on Hadari, but thanks to her flexible body, she dodged it with ease.

“Come one, You gotta be better than that, Starfish.” she taunted. “Maybe you should get rid of all that seaweed on your head. Its blocking the view.”

“Why I never-” she exclaimed as she fiercely as she blasted some ice shards at her but to her surprise, Hadari waved her hand to the side, turning them all into mist and splashed on her face with no harm done much to the mere-pony’s surprise.

“Thanks for the mist, honey. I was feeling pretty parched” she chuckled before charging in with a kick.

Hiro was trying his hardest to dodge Doku’s scorpion tail, taking every opening he can find to use his earthbending and physical attacks. Doku, while dodging and attacking, was laughing maniacally as if he got hit with laughing gas.

“Just...hold...still will ya!?” Hiro shouted as he threw some pebbles at the spider-like wolf which exploded on impact, knocking him out of the tree. Fortunately, he used his tail to grab onto another brand before he landed back on his feet.

“Haha! This is too much fun! I’ve been itching for a fight all day!”

Hiro sniffed the air before plugging his nose. “I think your itching because you need a bath, buddy!”

Doku raised an eyebrow, smelling under his armpit causing himself to shake his head in disgust and look back at the earthbender. “Are you disrespecting me, boy!?”

“Maybe.”

Doku growled and swiped his claws at Hiro. “Why you little…”
“Aww did I make the wittle bug boy sad?” Hiro taunted, now know his weakness. “Does he want mama to change his diper?”

“Don't you DARE talk about my mama!” he shouted. “That’s it!….IM GONNA MESS YOU UP!”

Hozu and Iris were trying their best to attack Mona and Bulkan. Mona, being the smallest, had ease to run around really fast on his stubby feet while Bulkan was swift with his razor sharp sword, almost taking off a feather from Iris’s wing. She fired a beam of magic at him but Bulkan simply reflected it off his sword with ease.

“You gotta do better than some sparkles princess!” he taunted.

“Oh i can do better.” she replied before concentrating with all her energy, the star on her forehead glowing brightly before fire a beam of both magic and fire at the jackal. He tried to shield himself from his sword, but the blast became too much before he was blasted off into a tree, the sword flying out of his hand.

“Uh. Not bad, princess.” he groaned before getting himself back up. “If that's how you wanna play” he summoned two daggers of fire in his hands. “Then let's play.”

Chi and Nadare were at it with each other, both running at each other at high speed, throwing punches and kicks at each other, even both of them transform into their wolf forms to try to swipe and bite at each other. After several strikes at each other, the two jumped back and reformed to their human forms.

“You’re not bad for a girl.” Nadare replied catching his breath.

“Is that supposed to be an insult?” Chi replied. “Because its not really affecting me.”

“Oh I know. Just wanted to compliment you.”

“Alright enough talking.” Chi said before getting into a fighting stance. “Give us the book and we won't beat you to a pulp.”

Nadare ponderend on the deal for a second. “Hmmm. Yeah I don’t think so. How about this? You and your little friends just waddle back to your homes and let us be alright?”

“Hmmmm. Yeah I don’t so.”

“Figured you say that.”

Nadare then pulled something out of his coat and threw it to the ground before Chi could react. A giant cloud of smoke emitted from the impact, binding Chi temporary and coughing vigorously from swallowing the fumes. Once the smoke cleared, she could see a blue streak run deeper into the forest.

“What the-get back here!” she shouted before zipping off at high speeds after the ring leader. Faster and faster she sped through the forest, occasionally swatting away branches and leaves from her path. Soon she was able to spot the wolf and was tailing right behind him.

“Oh no you don’t!” she shouted as she grabbed him by the waist and tackled him to the ground, the two tumbling out of the trees and landing in what looked like an ancient monument with several stones surrounding what looks like a shrine. They both groaned as they stagged to their canine feet, shaking their heads. Once her head was back on straight, she noticed something on the ground, lying in the center between them.

“Gotcha!” she exclaimed as she ran towards the journal and picked it up with her teeth but it also seemed like Nadare had the same idea too as he also grabbed the book with his own teeth as well. Now the two were growing at each other, playing tug of war like dogs with a rope, trying to rip the book out of each other’s teeth.

“You...have no idea...what this book can do!” Nadare said between grunts.

“Thats why it belongs in a museum!” Chi said as she pulled with all her might. “And away from you...freaks!”

“Let..go…you..Tomboy!”

“You first, wolf boy!”

The two grunted with all their might, having no idea that the journal was beginning to tear underneath. Inch by inch, the book began to tear under their vision. In a last ditch effort, Chi use her sharp claws to swipe at Nadare, hitting him across the eye. He growled in pain but still kept his stance from the sudden blow but before the two of them knew it, the book tore in two, the force so strong that it knocked the wisp into an pillar in the shrine, causing it to crack and Nadare into a boulder. Chi was dazed and her eyes rolling around in her head before she knocked them back into place Suddenly the starry sky turned cloudy and gentle breeze began to pick up and turned into almost tornado like wind. The two tried to hold on to their might, as well as the book, as everything around began to toss and turn and blow away from the area that wasn't rooted or cemented in. before any of them can question what was happening, they both noticed a crack forming above the center shrine and a bright white light emitting from it. It was hard to see but was red and black and it oozed out of the crack, landing on the ground with a splat before it looked it evaporated into a puff of smoke. The smoke sounded like high pitched screech that had Nadare and Chi trying to cover their ears while trying not to get blown away. The smoke looked around at its setting before laying eyes on Nadare and the book he had in his head. With the sound of laughing emitting from the smoke, the being charged towards the wolf spirit ready to do whatever to him. Just before he could strike a blue streak ran in front of the two and the smoke found itself charging right inside it. Every last drop of the strange smoke flew inside her before she collapsed to the ground and the weather returned to normal.

Nadare opened eyes, wondering where the smoke went before he looked down and noticed Chi laying right in front of her, unconscious. Nadare couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Did she save his life? Why did she do that? Was she dead? What has he done? All these questions rolled around in his head but had no time to answer them himself as his ear picked up the faint sound of her friends heading this way. He quickly picked up his pieces of the book and ran off into the woods, holding his clawed eye just as the kids exited from it.

"Chi!" Iris shouted as she and the others ran to her friend and picked her up. "Chi say something!"

The Wisp groaned and slowly opened her eyes. The ground sighed with relief that the worst didn't happen. She rubbed her head. "Don't need to shout you know."

"Are you okay?" Akari asked.

"Yeah. Just very dizzy. What about those guys?"

"They ran off after we heard that boom." Iris replied.

Chi sighed and laid her head back. "He ripped the book. I almost had him."

"It's okay Chi." She reassured. "Your save and that's what matters right now."

"How is it okay? I failed and he probably has the map with him too!" She said as she was helped back up on her feet.

"I wouldn't say that." Gallant spoke up as he looked at the journal now torn and dressed in teeth marks from both of the wolfs. He opened up to see only half of a map still intact on the spine. "They only took half of it."

"They also dropped this." Mai said as she pulled out what looked like a red card with black and white patterns and handed it to Chi. "Does it look familiar to you?"

Chi examined it but shook her head.

"Just who were those guys?" Hozu questioned. "These are not like any other spirit creatures from the past."

"I don't know, who they are." said Hiro "But whatever they're planning they won't get away with it. Not on my watch."

"They're probably not too far." said Chi as she struggled to walk on her own two feet. "We can still catch them if we-"

"Hold on, Speedy!" Iris exclaimed as she grabbed her friends arm. "You are in no condition to chase anyone right now. Especially with that bump on your head."

"But I can still catch them! " She protested. "Just let me-"

She began to feel suddenly foggy in the mind as she lost her balance and fell into Iris's arms Fortunately, thanks to her light weight body she was able to carry her with ease.

"See? You don't have to prove anything okay?"

As much as Chi wanted to argue. She knew that she was right. Well that and also Iris will always win no matter what argument you get in with her. She sighed and nodded her head. Nori took a handkerchief from her pocket, formed a frozen ice ball in her other hand and wrapped it up before giving it to Chi to put on her head.

"Thanks."

"Come on. Let's head home and tell our parents." Mai suggested. "Lets hope they know who these guys are."

"I'll take Chi home." Iris said. "Hozu. Could you head back to my place and tell my mom and dad?"

"No sweat."

"Let us know in the group chat if anything comes up."

The team nodded and started to head back to Ponyville and Harmony City with the help of Iris and Akari's magic. The sparkles flew down to the ground.

Chapter 5: Shadows and Reflections

Not even covering his pony ears with a pillow could cancel the noise of the loud banging at the door. The sorcerer tried his best to nudge his wife awake but even he knew that she could sleep even through a bombing raid without flinching. Finally giving up, Nova groaned as he got up out of bed, his hair an unruly mess, and he walked staggerly to the living room. He rubbed his eyes, his bangs were a darker shade than his natural any blue color, making him look all the more unappealing. He shifted into his anthro form as he approached the door.

“Chi, I know this night was important to you but I swear if you lost your 12th key already, I will turn you into-”

As soon as he opened the door all traces of sleep and grumpiness had been completely erased. There he saw Iris and his sister, all beat up, bruised, and very weak, leaning on the Avatar’s shoulder. He wasted no time in pulling the girls in and laid Chi out on the pullout couch.

“Sunset! Sunset! Wake up!” Nova shouted as he ran down the hall to the bedroom. There he still saw the unicorn still fast asleep.

“Mmmm...hang on honey. Just gotta save the prince from the evil king, okay?”

Nova rolled his eyes before saying “Sunset! It’s Chi! She’s hurt!.”

As soon as she heard the words “Chi” and “hurt”, Sunset sprung out of bed, shifting into her anthro form, and ran out of the bedroom, nearly knocking over Nova in the process. She ran over to the couch and gasped at her sister-in-law.

“Iris, what happened?” Sunset asked.

“It’s a long story.” Iris said. “To put it lightly, she got hit on the head pretty hard.”

Chi groaned and opened her eyes, giving her sister-in-law and brother a weak smile as she tried to get up from the bed.

““Nah. it was nothing. Just a scratch for this wisp!” she said confidently as she jumped out of bed but staggered a bit but pretended to act like it didn't even happen. “See? I'm in tip-top form!”

“Auntie?”

The three looked to see Eclipse, all dressed in his PJ’s coming out of the hallway, still rubbing his eyes.

“Eclipse, go back to bed honey, everything’s fine. ” Sunset said in a calm motherly voice.

“It’s okay, Sunset.” Chi said as she walked over to her little nephew. “Heya, sport. What are you still doing up?”

“I couldn’t sleep.” Eclipse replied. “You didn’t sing me to sleep like you always do. And you promised you would when you got home.”

“Well I'm home now. And to prove to you all that im okay, I'm going to take Eclipse to bed and sing him his lullaby, okay bro?”

Nova, not feeling in the mood to argue, shrugged his shoulders and let her go. Chi picked Eclipse up and carried him back to his room. No matter how hard one tried, Chi’s stubbornness was like a huge brick wall. Impossible to penetrate.

“I always keep forgetting that she’s a stubborn wisp.”

“I think she got that from you” Sunset said, nudging his shoulder.

“Oh haha.”

“Ahem.”

The couple turned around at the sudden attention of the princess. “Now that we know Chi is fine, there is something else you guys need to know.”

“That we do.” Nova replied. “What happened out there? I thought she didn’t want anyone with her.”

“Well she did.” Iris replied before tugging her hair. “Buuut me and the others were feeling guilty so we followed her. Though, she was actually pretty happy to see us but that’s not important right now.”

She said before getting back on topic. “It’s...about the museum.”

Nova and Sunset shared glances of concern. “What do you mean?”

(~)

Chi finished tucking the little unicorn back in his bed, giving him his favorite stuffed animal to snuggle with. She dimmed her blue aura a little so it could be dark enough for him along with his night light.

“Alright. Comfortable?”

Eclipse nodded as he held on to his stuffed animal, a platypus bear.

“Iris told me about today’s lesson. I can’t believe you could teleport that far!”

“I know right?” Eclipse exclaimed happily. “I actually teleported into Uncle Mako’s office! You should’ve seen the look on his face!”

Chi giggled. “Oh, I can imagine! Keep that up and you’ll be better than Nova in no time.”

“And maybe you can teach me archery!”

“Woah there! I already told you that you are too young. We can practice when you’re older.”

Eclipse pouted. “Aww but I wanna learn now! I’ve been practicing!”

“I know you have, kiddo. But you know as much as I do is that if Nova or Sunset found out, or if anything happened to you, they would turn me into a doormat.”

“I know.” Eclipse said “I just wanna be awesome like you and the guardians.”

"Awesome like us? How so?"

"For one, you guys have superpowers! You can run crazy fast, Uncle Hiro can make rocks explode. Auntie Nori can make pearl shield things. Uncle Gallant can talk to animals like Doctor Toku Dolittle! And you guys are so fearless, taking on the dangerous spirits like the Nogitsune or fighting the Storm King to save Equestria! But me ...well...I can just teleport and fire sparkles from my horn. I just wish I could be like you guys. Be like you especially.”

The wisp couldn't believe what he was saying. It wasn't a bad thing but Chi always knew since he opened his eyes for the first time, Eclipse was a big fan of the Guardians of Harmony. From meeting them after school, getting lessons from Iris or Akari to even begging his parents to get one of them to babysit him and have Hiro plan his party every year. He dreamed of becoming a guardian someday and promised to work his hardest to do so. She took a strand of his hair and placed it behind his ear.

"Oh Eclipse." She started. "I know you wanna be a Guardian but you actually have it all wrong. Being a guardian is more than just superpowers and being fearless. It's especially more than rainbow laser light shows."

"It's not?" Eclipse said. "But isn't that all you do? I thought being a Guardian means all of that and spreading the magic of friendship?"

Chi got up from his bed and pulled her shirt down just a tad so her torso was showing where she manifested her bright blue sol.

"You know what this is right, Eclipse?"

"Yeah. It's your Sol. It’s your heart and gives you the power to shapeshift. You got it from your brother, right? My Uncle Shade? When he sacrificed himself."

"Yep." She said. "But also nope."

"Wait, Uncle Shade isn't my Uncle?"

She giggled, "No no silly! He is still your emo, stubborn uncle like I told you. What I was talking about is the shapeshifting part. I can shapeshift depending on my feelings. How Wisps use this power is that we need to think happy thoughts in order to turn into what we want. The happier the thought, the more awesome things I can turn into. Which is why whenever I do that, I always think of my happiest memories. My family. Both old and new. And really, it kinda scares me especially when we're saving the world."

"You? Scared? But your the element of loyalty!"

"I know but here's the thing. You see, kiddo, Being a Guardian is more than all that you told me, while it does have it perks it also has its share of baggage. Especially for me. I'm not only the element of loyalty but also the big sister of the team. While Iris may be in charge, I'm still the one who has to look out for everyone. Make sure nothing bad happens to them. I'm the one responsible for anything that falls upon them and it scares me to imagine what would happen if Akari' was turned to stone by the Storm King or seeing them fall out of the sky. I'm scared that I'm going to mess up and someone will get hurt or worse. I can't let that happen to me. Not again."

Eclipse frowned. He always thought that her auntie was the spunky, heroic, bubbly gal that he grew up with but he never heard this side of her. Especially knowing now how she shapeshifts. While showing many strengths, she also has weaknesses as well hand held his tiny hands out and places it on Chi's warm glowing blue on.

"I...I didn't know you felt that way. I'm sorry for what I said."

"Hey don't be." She said holding onto his hand. "Because you know how I overcome it?"

Eclipse shook his head.

"I don't let those thoughts cloud me because I love them. I love them with all my Sol. They're the ones that make me wake up every morning and high tail it to school, they're the ones that make me laugh when I'm having a bad day just as I do with them. We all care and love one another and that's what makes me strong, run fast, and...do this!"

She shook her head into a goofy looking mask and started doing funny faces to the young pony like her tongue extending out while her eyes rolled in her head to even stretching her face out to crazy proportions like a rubber band before letting it snap back in place, making the little pony laugh a little before shaking her head, returning it to normal.

"Again again!"

"Ha ha! Maybe another night, Eclipse." She replied. "What I'm saying is in the end, being a Guardian is about facing your personal obstacles to do what is right to spread the magic of friendship around us, not just about superpowers. Shoot, I still wonder why I was chosen to be the Element of Loyalty."

I know why."

"You do?"

"Yep. Like you said, you love your family and will do anything to protect them. Even if it means sacrificing your life by your own brother. Also, your the coolest auntie in the universe so they really had no choice."

Chi smiled and gave him a small kiss on the forehead. "Aww thanks, squirt. Ready for bed?"

Eclipse let out a yawn and rubbed his eye. A sigh of yes no doubt.

"You gonna sing your mom's lullaby?"

“Of course. I always keep my promise” said Chi as she pulled the blankets up a tad more before opening her mouth and started to sing in her beautiful voice.

For one so small,

You seem so strong

My arms will hold you,

Keep you safe and warm

This bond between us

Can't be broken

I will be here

Don't you cry

When destiny calls you, you must be strong

I may not be with you

But you got to hold on

They'll see in time, I know

We'll show them together

'Cause you'll be in my heart

Yes, you'll be in my heart

From this day on

Now and forever more

You'll be in my heart

No matter what they say

You'll be here in my heart

Always….

The little colt’s eyes closed for the last time of the day as he fell fast asleep in his bed.

“Good night, Squirt.” she whispered before giving him one more kiss on the forehead and quietly walking out of the bedroom, trying not to make any sounds on her way out. She closed the door, letting it click before walking back to the living room where Nova and Sunset were now putting on their jackets, despite being in their pajamas.

“Is he asleep?” he asked as he finished buttoning up his coat.

“Out like a light.” Chi then looked around and noticed that someone was missing. “Hey, where’s Iris?”

“She went home."

Chi noticed her brother's worried face, even though he looked like he could pass out at any moment.

"You’re heading over there now? At this time?"

"We have to see what happened for ourselves. If what Iris showed us is what I think it is, then they're back." replied Sunset.

"Wait, you know who they are?" Chi asked with surprise.

Before Nova could speak, a phone buzzed on the table and Nova picked it up, seeing it was a text from Mako. He took a look at it before replying back.

"We'll talk about it when we get back." Nova said as he finished putting on his shoes and grabbed the house key from the wall. "Until then, stay here with Eclipse, okay?"

Chi nodded and yawned herself before giving a kiss to both of them.

"See ya guys later today."

"Will do." said Sunset before the couple heading out the door and closed it. Chi went and sat down on couch and kicked her shoes off, placing her feet on the coffee table. She rubbed her temples. What a night this has been. A simple night turned into complete chaos. Though she should know by now that this wasn't anything new. She reached into her cost pocket and pulled out the card that was shown to her back in the forest. Just who were those guys? They seemed to know Queen Korra and the Elements all too well like they met them in the past. Did they? Or were they just messing with their heads. And speaking of which the leader, Nadare, she had never seen anyone like that before. The way he moved, fought, and his voice. Just the thought of it made the wisp's face scrunch up like a crumpled piece of paper. Just who did he think he was trying to hit on her like that? He's more like a pervert than a leader. But when she thought of him again, she noticed his eyes behind the mask. Bright blue cyan. While having that tint of evil in them, they also look awfully familiar. She couldn't quite put her finger on it but it's like she knew him from somewhere. Before she could ponder any further, her skirt buzzed and she pulled out her phone, seeing it's a text from Iris.

"Are Sunset and Nova still there?"

"Nah. Went into town to check out the museum. Nova was pretty concerned though."

"Same with my mom. But Dad looked even more worried. Like he knew this was coming."

"What do you mean?"

"Idk. Im gonna go ask him in the morning."

"They asked you to stay behind too huh?"

"You know how they are. Even after we saved the world...several times. Though I am kinda tired."

Chi yawned. "Same. I'm gonna go hit the hay myself. Where do you wanna meet up tomorrow?"

"Entrance of the Museum…..are you sure your okay? You looked pretty beat up back there."

"I'm fine. dw"

"I'm just worried that's all."

"that's my job lol. I'll ttyl!"

"TTYL"

The wisp yawned and dragged herself to her room. She didn't even bother changing and simply took off her socks, jacket and skirt and fell into her hammock in her t-shirt and shorts. She snored the night away, every so often twitching like a dog or cat. As she slept, her chest glowed a faint blue color, pulsing like in tempo with each breath she took ...then mysteriously, it turned into a faint magenta like color, glowing ominously in the dark room.

*(~)*

Sweat poured down her face as Chi opened her eyes and suddenly began to cough the amount of smoke she breathed in.

Smoke.

She instantly jumped up and noticed she was no longer in her room but on the grass in the everfree forest. She looked at her surroundings and noticed that it was on fire. Why was the forest on fire?”

"Hello?" She called out,. "Anyone?"

"Auntie Chi!"

Knowing that voice like it was her own, she spun her head towards the source and saw Little Eclipse, held limply in the hooves of Sunset and Nova. Standing beside the unicorns were The Guardians, all in a fighting stance.

"Eclipse!" She called out. "Don't worry I'm here!"

"Get away, traitor!" said Akari, her voice booming through the trees.

"Traitor? Kari what are you talking about?"

"We believed in you, Chi." Iris said, her voice cracking as she was trying not to break down. "You were family, why did you betray us?!"

"Iris…."

"You were my sister!" Nova shouted. "Eclipse loved you!"

"You were supposed to protect us!" Hiro shouted, tears are seen rolling down his cheeks.

Chi couldn't believe what she was hearing. Why were they so angry? What happened to her nephew? As though she knew the nexts words to say, she spoke like having no control of herself "I... didn't mean to." The wisp pleaded. "Please, if you would just let me explain-"

When she stretched out her hand, the flames around her charged toward the the five heroes as if by command. They all screamed in pain and terror as they were engulfed by the flames and right in front of Chi. They were reduced to ashes which flew up into the red colored sky. Chi covered her mouth in terror at what she had just witnessed. When she looked around, she noticed that there was more fire in places that weren't there before. In fact, she was surrounded by the flames but when she looked at herself, she wasn't burning. Not even the smell of smoke came off of her. It was like she was immune to the blaze before her. She buckled down to her knees and began to weep, crying in her hands.

"I'm sorry...I...I couldn't save you."

She uncovered her face and glanced at the puddle beneath her made by her tears when she saw herself in it, she was horrified to see not her in the puddle but someone else entirely. Someone she never even wanted to think about since that day.

Tirek.

She screamed and crawled away from it before backing into a tree and yelping, getting back on her feet in an instant and ran deep into the forest, she noticed a figure running beside her, as if racing her. She kept running as fast as she could deeper and deeper into the forest. When the trees finally cleared she noticed herself running towards a cliff but it was too late to stop herself as she tumbled off, screaming all the way into the dark void. She looked up and noticed the silhouettes of Nadare and his gang all laughing at her as she kept falling and falling. She turned around to not look at them but that just made things worse as she was now looking into the gaping maw of the powerful Tirek, ready to devour her like he did with her species all those years ago.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

"CHI WAKE UP!"

The wisp gasped as if she was begging for air from being underwater for too long. She stood up and ran over to the corner of her room, her clothes and body completely drenched in sweat and tears, her eyes red and nose a little runny too. She breathed heavily as she gazed upon who woke her up. It was Iris and the Guardians, all having looks of shock and concern on their faces. The poor wisp was glowing purple, a sign of fear in her kind. It was like she seen a ghost.

Iris slowly walked over to Chi. "It's okay. It's just us."

Chi looked down at her outstretched hand and slowly reached her hand out and gave her own, her fear slowly draining away almost instantly. Her hand was still drenched in sweat however but Iris really didn't care. The only thing that mattered was her friend.

"I...Iris…"

"It's okay, We're here." Hiro calmly said. "It's over."

"By..but why are you all here?" Chi questioned, slowly getting composition back. "I thought we were meeting at...oh no."

"We did but our parents were gone" Akari said. " They said they were over at the station so we were heading over there when we went by your place."

"We thought you were sleeping in again and we all had a key to the apartment." Mai added. " When we came inside, Eclipse was already gone and-"

"Wait he's gone?!?" Chi exclaimed.

"No Chi, it’s fine. Sunset left a note saying she was taking him to daycare."

Chi sighed in relief.

"Anyway, we heard you screaming and that's when we woke you up. You had quite the nightmare didn't you?"

Chi nodded her head. "But that's it. Just a nightmare." she walked over to her closet and grabbed some new pair of clothes and flew into her bathroom. "Nothing to worry about."

"You were screaming louder than the time the new Marvelous issue was delayed by a week." said Chrysalis.

"That issue was the conclusion to the biggest cliffhanger in history! They can't just "delay" it!" She protested, her words a little muffled due to her brushing her teeth.

"Chi, we’re being serious," said Gallant. "Last night was pretty insane. If you don't wanna go that's perfectly-"

"And I'm telling you that I am fine." she retorted as she stepped out of the bathroom, fully clothed and cleaned up. "It was just a bad dream. I had a rough night, in case you forgot."

Iris sighed. Just like her that wisp was more stubborn than Cranky Doodle. "Okay. If you say so."

"Thank you." Chi replied, walking to the kitchen and picking a nice red apple from the fruit bowl and taking a big bite out of it. "So...we gonna go or what?"

As much as they were concerned for their friend, they had other important issues at hand. They all headed out the door and into the elevator to make their way to the police station.

*(~)*

Ponies and humans gathered around the now closed off Museum. Harmony City police officers scouted the perimeter, calling in the city's best detectives to help solve the mysterious break in while reporters and journalists flooded the streets and entrance, trying to get answers to what happened. Iris and the other ran through the crowd and made it to the now closed off entrance, several guards standing at the perimeter.

“Excuse me?” she called out to the guard, he looked down and he casually greeted the princess.

“Morning, Princesses, Guardians.”

“Are our dads inside?” asked Akari. “We were supposed to meet them here.”

“Oh yeah of course.” he replied before opening the gate to the team but enough so they can get in and keep the reporters. When the entered the building it was a terrible sight to behold. Dozens of guard still unconscious from last night and the rest who were awake or trying to stay awake, getting care from the medical team. Rainbow, Flash, and Soarin were trying to question the conscious guards Rosalyn, Tadashi and Mako were looking over the scene. Korra, Twilight, Bolin, Nova, Sunset, and Asami were nowhere to be seen. From the looks of it, the museum as a whole was completely unscathed, all except for the main exhibit case and a shattered skylight. Whoever these thieves were, they had this well planned out from start to finish. After getting through the crowd, Iris saw her mom along with the others walking out of what seemed to be a security room. They all had small bangs under their eyes, indicating they have been up for most of the night in front of the cameras.

“Hey Mom!”

“Iris?” Korra smiled in relief when she looked over to the kids. “What are you guys doing here? Don’t you have school?”

“Its Saturday.”

“Is it?” Korra said before looking at her geo-phone, the date being Saturday just like she said. “Huh. Age is finally starting to get to me. “ Korra said before letting out a long yawn.

“Wow, you guys look horrible.” Mai said which got her some looks from the team. Being the element of honesty, she tends to be honest a little bit too much in certain places. Even when half asleep, they still caught on her brutal honesty.

“Gee thanks, Mai” Bolin replied.

“I’ve been scanning and checking those cameras for hours.” Asami replied. “I looked through everything I could find, even used that procedure you taught me but what they did was far more advanced in tech.”

“We tried rebooting it, using magic, even kicking and punching it but we came up with-”

“Nothing. Absolutely nothing.” Nova finished before sighing. “I mean yeah we got the book back but who in their right mind would steal that when there are dozens of other priceless artifacts here?”

“Only thing we found was a card where they took the book.” said Sunset “Did you guys see anything else when you took them on? Like symbols? Scars? anything?”

The team thought about anything they could remember but shook their heads. But the more Akari thought about it, the more she did remember something on that brown wolf's clothes.

"Actually...I do remember something. A symbol of some sort"

"Really? What did it look like?" Korra asked, her tone sounding very nervous all of a sudden.

“If I remember correctly, it looked like the shape of three claw marks going down the right side. It looked like it was clawing out the symbol of the Shadow Triads. Each of them had it, both it was in several places like the one I fought had it on her jacket.”

“Hey...now that you mention it. I remember seeing a symbol like that too.” Gallant chimed in. “only it was on his glove.”

“Yeah I remember seeing one also.” said Hiro.

“Me too.” Nori added.
“Ditto.” said Chi.

The adults, except for Nova, looked at each other with unease. The way the kids described the symbol it sounded all too familiar to them. Something they thought was gone a long time ago. Nova noticed this and looked at his wife with concern.

“Hey you alright? It's like you’ve seen a ghost.”

Korra sighed at rubbed her forehead. If she's thinking what she’s thinking, they were in big trouble.

“I'm gonna go talk to your father.” Korra told her daughter before walking over to him and the others were still trying to get questions out of them. Hozu was trying to process everything that just happened in the last several seconds.

“Uhm okay so what was THAT about?” Hozu asked. “You clearly know something. Who were those guys?”

Twilight looked at the others and sighed. It was probably time for them to be caught up. She placed a hand on both Akari and Iris’s shoulders.

“They're ...They're called the Shadow Claws.”

The group looked at each other with confusion.

“Shadow Who?” they said in unison.

*(~)

“Shadow Claws” Mako said, handing Gallant a file with one of the members names on it. Each of the Guardians were actually given a file, each with a name on the tab and front saying “CLASSIFIED” in big red lettering. When they opened it up, they were greeted by what they would assume to be a temporary mugshot of each of the thieves. And by temporary, it was a poorly shot photographs of them trying to get a facial at least but for some it was either a blur or only half a face or body part. In the notes, nearly all the info about them was blank besides their names and code names along with abilities. Some had more evidence than others.

Also among the group were Tadashi and Rosalyn

“They were, well in this case -are- one of the United Kingdom’s most wanted criminals. Wanted for breaking and entering, assault on officer and civilians, smuggling, Grand Theft in all cases, and for one of them, attempted manslaughter.”

The team looked at each other with unease. If what Mako said was true, they were lucky that night.

“They were responsible for some of the biggest theft crimes in the city before some of you were born.” said Rainbow Dash. “After several years, they decided to take their thievery beyond the city and into Equestria and even the Spirit world.”

Nova rubbed his chin in thought. “Y’know. The more you talk about them, I do remember me and Chi hearing news about these guys a couple years before I met you all of you.”

“Yeah..Yeah me too!” said Chi. “Though we thought it was Kage, Shade, and Ronin so we tried to go find them but they were always one step ahead. They were good. Real good.”

“That’s what makes them unique,” said Rosalyn. “The Shadow Claws were originally part of my gang, The Shadow Triads.”

“But wait, weren't they disbanded not long after you were kicked out?” questioned Iris, remember when Rosalyn, or back then Tempest, held her and Akari captive on the way to Canterlot.

“Not exactly. After I was booted out, a few weeks passed until I stumbled across an old member. He told me that there was a feud in who would lead the Triads now that me and Tadashi were gone. After several days of seeing who would become the next leader, they decided to just disband and become part of several smaller teams. The Reapers, The Phantom Thieves, and the Shadow Claws.”

“Unfortunately for them, the first two were easily captured in their first heist.” Tadashi added. “As for the Shadow Claws….”

“They always got the better of us.” Flash growled under his breath. “Every time we found out where they were hitting, they were always two steps ahead and we missed them by a thread. Always leaving a “custom” calling card to mock us.”

“Custom?” Hiro questioned.

Soarin handed him a stack of cards they collected over the years. Chi, Gallant, and Nori looked over his shoulder as he read some of the cards they made. Several of them making them cringe from the jokes made to even having their eyes wider than dinner plates from the words on others.

“Yeesh. These are custom alright.” Nori said with disgust.

“We even got the whole team together for one night.” Korra said before looking at a photo of a crime scene, the date the same one as that night. “I’ll never forget it.”

“We were this close…” Mako said, his anger starting to rise. “This close. We had them surrounded. The entire city was on lockdown.”

“But they still got the upper hand...again!” Flash exclaimed. “It still ticks me off to this day. They were so slick!” the pegasus’s feathers ruffled in anger

“Your dad spent literally months after months trying to find them, he wouldn’t stop till he did.” Twilight said to Akari.

“It almost made me lose my mind.” Flash continued, letting out a long sigh and unclenching his fists to relax. “And my team. I promised myself that I wouldn’t let them get to me again. Especially since I was going to be a dad. I couldn’t risk my anger destroying my family. And myself."

Akari really felt that one. The fact her dad went through so much to catch these guys but had to stop in order to save his life and his family because he almost went out of control was truly heartbreaking. She promised herself that she would make sure they were brought to justice no matter what.

“After that night. They just vanished.” Rainbow continued. “Not a single trace of them remained. Its like they never existed.”

“So we know what they are and what they do.” said Akari, using her fingers as a counter. “But we still don’t know who they are.”

“We were saving that for last.” Tadashi answered as he pulled out his Geoslate and began typing something in before placing it on the table, pictures projecting from the small camera on top.

“First..there’s Ciya, the badger wolf. Born mute, he talks by how he bends and is much more powerful than he looks.”

“Silent but deadly. Got it.” Hiro noted.

Rosalyn continued. “Then there’s Tiupan. He’s the airbender that is also blind but don’t let that make you think you have an advantage. He can use the air around him to see, even knowing who is who just by how they walk and how the air moves around them, making him a tough opponent to defeat.”

“ And...he’s also a good cook.” Tadashi chimed in. “Hey those guys may be criminals but he makes the best steamed dumplings I’ve ever tasted….” he said his mouth already beginning to drool as he dreamed of eating his food for the first time long ago.

“Losing you, Tadi!” Rosalyn called out, snapping her fingers in front of his face.

“Oh, right sorry.” he apologized quickly before clearing his throat and continuing.

“Then we have Mona. The smallest of the team. We really don't know much about him since he showed up the last time we were face to face with the Claws. From as much as we could gather, he has some sort of elastic powers and is really flexible and fast on his feet.”

“Guess I’m not the only one who can stretch after all.” Chi muttered before feeling a sudden wave of dizziness wash over her and she rubbed her head.

“Next up is Doku, the muscle. Doku is a scorpion wolf, replacing his tail with a stinger full of venom. While a little can leave his opponents paralysed, take in too much can have serious consequences.”

“Not to mention he can run on all fours both as a wolf and anthro plus having the ability to jump to high places in a single leap.” added Soarin. “He’s also a little...well…” he twirled his finger around his head, implying that this Doku was on a bit of the crazy side of things.

“Then we have the brains of the team, Kaminari.” said Rosalyn. “She is a skilled anthro wolf, being able to hack into pretty much anything she can get her little claws on. Although still a kid, Kam has been known to pack a punch when necessary and thanks to her electric powers, she can deliver quite a shock to those who touch her stuff.”

“Believe me. I know” said Tadashi, who shivered at the memory of him making the grave mistake of touching her things without permission before continuing. “Hadari is the orca wolf of the team, having the ability to waterbend and swim very well, especially in colder waters. She can also use her looks to seduce her enemies and then strike without warning. She’s also second in command behind Nadare, or at least she considers herself to be.”

“What do you mean by that?” Iris asked.

“Well that answer lies with Bulkan.” Rosalyn answered, swiping the screen to show the picture of the team member who looked to be a jackal. “Bulkan’s past is much more mysterious than the others. All we know is that he and Nadare have been together long before they joined the Triads. Bulkan is not like the others, he is fearsome, cruel, heartless, and extremely dangerous. His sword is made from some of the strongest metal in the United Kingdom and is sharper than a sword, being able to slice even the thickest of things in one swoop.”

“Bulkan will stop at nothing to get what he wants,” said Tadashi. “Even if it means taking a life.”

“I guess we found our Kage.” whispered Hiro to Iris but not too loud for Nova to hear.

“And now for the final member of the group.” Rosalyn states as the image transitions into the main leader of the team. Not much can be said in terms of appearance besides him being a blue anthro wolf and he seemed to be a big fan of black and blue. His black jacket went all the way down to his knees and had blue outlines on the edges and cuffs, which were folded inside out so the ends won't cover his hands which were covered by dark blue gloves. He had on black pants and dark blue short heeled boots and a black tshirt. His hair was a messy blue color and he had on his face what appeared to be a grey mask with blue outline around the eyes. On his shoulder was the same symbol on the cards though it looked more like it was etched in their poorly. By the way he dressed and how he looked, it was no doubt that he was definitely the leader of the group.

“Nadare.” Mako started. “He’s the leader of this team. From as much as we can put together, he’s just as bad, if not even worse, than Bulkan.

“Though he is not a killer.” Rosalyn stated. “Me and Nadare go way back actually. Long before we joined the Claws. He’s more of a, I guess you can say, charming and charismatic trickster.

Chi shivered in disgust. She definitely got the charismatic part down. Just thinking about him trying to flirt with her last night makes her skin crawl. Though when Chi walked closer to the image and tried to get a better look at him, especially around the eyes. There was something that felt...familiar about him but she just couldn’t put her tongue on it. While looking, she thought she began to see his vision becoming more reddish and blurry. She rubbed her head groaned lightly at the sting of sudden pain and dizziness.

“What is it, Chi?” Nova asked her. The wisp snapped out of it and quickly shook her head.

“Oh it's nothing” She said, casually brushing it aside. “It's just he looks like an avatar in my video game is all.”

The others looked at her with confusion but decided to just shrug and move on, all except for Iris who seemed to be a little concerned for her still after what happened this morning. Rosalyn cleared her throat and started to continue.

“Anyway, While he may sound dangerous, he doesn’t always rely on violence to get what he wants. That's mostly Bulkan’s doing.”

“But even with him on the team, Nadare made sure to keep him in check while in the Triads.” said Tadashi.

“So now that we know who they are, can anyone explain why they were after a dusty old book?” said Hozu.

“I don’t know.” Rosalyn said. “Whatever is in that book must be very important to them. We can’t let them get their hands on the rest of the book.” she finished as she turned off the geo-slate and handed it back to Mako.

Gallant slowly raised his hand, a little nervous of interrupting the conversation. Fortunately, Mako was the kind of chief that didn’t mind a slight interruption.

“Yes, Gallant?”

Gallant cleared his throat adjusted himself. “Well, Chief, uh. I think I may know why they might be after the book.”

All heads were now on him, making him feel a little more uncomfortable, but after feeling the hand of his girlfriend on his shoulder, his worries quickly melted away and he stood up.

“Last night, well, actually all night, me and my family have been trying to decipher the language in the book.” He said as he placed it on the table and opened up to the first page. “The writing is in ancient ponish language. Like long before the one we know today.”

“Ponish language?” Korra asked, a little confused. During her time as a princess, her and Twilight spent some time on learning different languages from Equestria and the human world. They have heard of the language but it proved difficult to decipher and translate when they were snooping through Nova and Starswirl’s stuff so they gave up. “Isnt that language impossible to translate unless you were from old Equestria?”

“Yeah. but My Mom and Dad also know a little of the language. My Dad because of his studies in the crystal empire and my Mom because of the cutie mark removal and time travel spell she used when she hated you guys.”

“That makes sense.” Twilight said, rubbing her chin. “I always wondered how she was able to read that scroll.”

“A lot of reading and a ton of sleepless nights.” Starlight replied.

“Gallant also taught me a little as well while were studying together some nights.” said Akari. “I might not know as much as you guys but I’m willing to help as much as I can.”

“I appreciate the volunteering, Akari.” Sunburst said. “But while we were able to get the first couple pages done, there's still several more pages that need to be translated. Who knows how long that would take.”

“The claws may have some pages but as far as we know, we have the book. They can’t do much with that. We’re one step ahead and lets make it count because it might be our only chance to find out what they want and stop them before it's too late. I’ve made my mistakes with these guys in the past but not this time. Not again.” Mako looked up to the family and pointed to the book. “Officer Sunburst!”

“Yes sir!” he replied.

“Your orders are you and your family to translate those pages as fast as you can. We need as much help as we can. See if Leilani will be able to help out.”

“Yessir!”

“Lieutenant Dash, Sorin. You guys send out your squads and go over every location between here and 100 miles radius and Sentry, you and your squad go over Equestria. Keep an out for anything suspicious. The rest of us will try to look through the rest of the Starswirl’s stuff to find anything that could help with speeding things up."

"I'll see if me and Sunset can dig through more of The Elder's scrolls." Nova added. "I think it's time to refresh on my old ponish anyway."

“Sounds like a plan!” Iris exclaimed. “Alright guys! Lets get to-”

“Hold up, tiger!” Korra interrupted. “Even with this ordeal going on, you guys still got school going on and you are not missing that.”

“But Mooom!”

“She’s right, Iris.” Mako agreed. “I know you guys want to help but you guys are graduating soon and finishing up school is more important.”

“More important than saving the world from a group of psychotic theives?” she said, placing a hand on her hip and raising an eyebrow.

“Iris…” Korra said in a stern tone. “You know how important this graduation is to you guys and its a week away. You guys still have so much to prep for the ceremony and we can’t let this whole ordeal get in the way with that, can we?”

The princess sighed, her wings drooping with her mood. “Yeah I guess.”

“Well I’m definitely gonna need to be at school since im part of the officers but during free periods and lunch, we can always try to decipher pages and keep track of things while my mom and dad work on it at home or the empire.”

“Thats actually a good idea!” Korra agreed. “What do you say, Iris?”

The princess shrugged “Well. We are still helping even at school. Do you guys promise to let us know if you find anything that could help?”

“Of course.”

“Then it works for me!” Iris exclaimed, her wings bouncing back up again. “What about you guys?”

“Fine by me.” Hozu agreeded.

“Sure.” said Chrysalis.

“Im cool.” Hiro replied.

“We can keep in contact on the Geo-Slates.” Mai replied. “MAGGIE can create a secure VPN where we can talk to each other just in case if our friends want to drop in and snoop on us.”

“Works for me!” Akari replied.

“Im down.” Nori replied.
“What about you Chi?” Iris asked, only to see the wisp wiping some sweat off her face with her sleeve and rubbing her temple. “Uh Chi? You okay?”

The wisp snapped out of it and shook her head. “Y-yeah Im fine.”

“Are you sure?” Hiro asked. “Ever since what happened at your home you’ve been acting a little-”

“I said im fine, Hiro!” she snapped, catching everyone off guard. She realized what she did and cleared her throat. “Sorry. I'm just a little tired that's all. Im gonna go use the bathroom. Be right back.”

Before Nova could ask anything, she zipped out of the room, several papers flying about from the sudden gust of wind.

“What happened at home, Iris?” he asked the princess.

“She had a nightmare and when we tried to wake her up, she looked worse than mom on a bad hair day.”

Nova was confused. Chi hasn’t had a nightmare in years. Not ever since her brother betrayed her and they found each other. Something mustve really happened last night that did a number on her, but what is the question.

“Could you guys keep an eye on her?” he asked. “Just in case if anything else “weird” happens at school or hanging out?”

“Yeah of course.” Akari replied. “Though I hope she’s okay.”

“Yeah me too. Me too.”

*(~)*

Chi ran into the bathroom and threw her coat on the floor. Her shirt was drenched in sweat as she raced to the sink and turn the faucet on cold before splashing her face with the cool liquid, even making her hand a small cup to take a drink and splash the rest on her face. She looked in the mirror, her shirt now wet and sweaty and her face and parts of her bangs covered in water. She had no idea what was going on with her, every since last night, she felt completely not like her normal self. Did she touch some poison joke? No because her powers would be going on the fritz, she’s not allergic to anything either as far as she’s aware either. Maybe not enough sleep, suddenly she remembered her sol acting a little funny after her ordeal with Nadare last night and she pulled her shirt down enough to wear she can see her sol, though when looking at it, she noticed that it was no longer its bright blue color but now blue with a faint magenta glow on the edges.

“Thats totally weird.” she whispered to herself as she tapped her sol, even using her sleeve to try to wipe off whatever that was stained on there.

Hey.

She shot up and looked around the room, wondering if she’s alone in here.

“Hello? Anyone in here?” She called out, but no answer came back. She sighed and rubbed her head.

“Great. Im hearing things now.” she muttered. “What’s next my reflection gonna jump out at me?”

She turned around to splash herself with water one more time before turning off the faucet and grabbing a paper towel from the dispenser to wipe her face. Once she finished drying and threw it away, she looked in the mirror agan….only to find her reflecting looking at her. Smiling.

“What the-?”

Boo.”

The wisp let out a yelp, her eyes bulging out for a split second before backing away, forgetting that her coat was on the floor and she slipped, landing her behind right into the trash can and her coat flying up into the air and landing on her head. The reflection laughed at the wisp’s silly incident.

“Oh ho wow! We really are that clumsy aren’t we?’

Chi lifted the coat off her head and gasped at what she saw on the floor. Thanks to the clear crystal waxed floor, she could see her reflection clearly and she it laughing at her. How is this possible? Some sort of magic.

“Okay very funny you guys, but im not in the mood right now okay?” she called out, but nobody answered. “Guys? Its over. You can come out now.”

“Oh nonono. This isn’t their doing” said the reflection, who wiped a tear from her eye. “This is all on you. Well us actually.”

“What are you talking about?” asked Chi as she tried to pull herself up, only to realize that the bin was still stuck to her butt. In an awkward position, she tried to pull the bin off but it would budge. The reflection chuckled slightly.

“Well well. I guess we both now know where all those sundaes and strawberries have gone.”

Chi’s blushed and turned a faint green, glaring at her reflection. “Shut up. Your not even real!”

“Oh but I am, sister.” she replied, giving her silly looking smile. “And we have a lot to discuss.”

“What are you talking about?” she said, as she was nearing getting the bin off her butt. “We..have...NOTHING...to discuss.” At “nothing” she finally got the bin free and tossed it to the side, picking off any remaining paper towels that clinged onto her purple mini skirt and tossing them into the bin. “You are my reflection. So be one!”

“Uh You do know a reflection talks as well right?” she stated. “Like whenever there's a clear surface? Duh!”

“Will you stop that!” Chi exclaimed. “I have nothing to talk about okay? I am fine. Its just been a long night.”

The reflection sighed. “Alright. Might as well say it. I'm your conscious.”

“My what?”

“Conscious? Y'know that little voice inside your head that tells your right from wrong? Wow did you pay attention to Psychology at all last year?”

“I know what a conscious is.” Chi replied a little annoyed. “Stop assuming im dumb okay? I'm not.”

“Oh Im not saying your dumb. Look i'm here to help you okay?” The reflection began to act more calm and had a more understanding voice. “Look, Chi. these past few days have done a number on you. Its the anniversary of well..you know.”

“My parents and species being killed by a savage power hungry maniac? Yeah you don’t have to sugar coat it for me. Im 1900 years old. Im not a child anymore.” she said turning her head away from the mirror

“I know I know. Its just, well, We know how hard it was that day. You keep getting nightmares about it even after you met your friends. You still have trauma deep down inside you. You know if you keep this up, its going to hurt you and your family down the line.”

The wisp sighed. I guess she was her conscious after all. Everything she said was true. Yeah on the outside, she was always a spunky blue gal, but deep down all her sadness, anger and hate for the one who took her life away from her still burns, even if she doesn’t think about it.

“No matter how hard you try you can’t run from your past.” the reflection said. “You know that too.”

“Look, I may not be able to run from my past but I can at least accept it and move on!” she exclaimed to the reflection, who remained unfazed.

“Uh huh. Tell me this, Chi. Have you really accepted the past? Or are you just keeping it locked away, hoping it’ll never overcome you?”

The wisp tried to protest, but once again she was right. She groaned and slapped her forehead.

“I dont have time for this.” she said before turning around started walking away.

“Wait!” the reflection called out. “What if I told you that you can fix the past and make it right?”

Chi’s ears perked up and turned around. “What do you mean?”

Before her reflection could answer, the door began to open and she quickly dissolved back into the mirror and began to act like her reflection again.

“Hey wait!”

“Chi?”

She turned around to see Chrysalis, peeping through the door. “You alright?”

“Yeah..yeah I'm okay.” she said, putting on her coat and adjusting her hair.

“Okay. Were about to head back to Akari’s library. Just checking to see if your coming.”

“Yeah totally! I’ll be right out.” she said before Chrysalis nodded and closed the door. Chi turned her hand into a blow dryer and dried all the water and sweat that was still on her and her clothes. She looked in the mirror and saw her reflection was back to normal.

“That was weird.” she whispered before walking out of the bathroom to catch up with the others, having no idea the shadow on the floor revealed to have eye sockets and a creepy smile crept on its face before returning to normal.

Chapter 6: A Bone to Pick

Bulkan growled as he finished slashing again the walls of their hideout, now full of the faint red marks of his geo-blade. When Nadare told them about what happened to the book, the jackal wolf did not take the news lightly and this was the result of it. After several minutes and praying he doesn’t start another tantrum, Hadari finally spoke up.

“Are you done now?”

Bulkan didn’t say anything, only pressing a button on his hilt, causing the blade to disappear back inside like a laser pointer. He placed it back on his belt before turning out.

“Yeah...Yeah I am.”

“Good. Now that we've all calmed down we can-”

“Ohh just because I'm finished here doesn’t mean I still ticked at what happened!” he shouted as he marched over to the meeting table in the center of the room. “Nadare shouldn’t have persuaded that blue brat on his own! What was he thinking?!”

“Being what a leader does.” Mona spoke up. “Completing the mission.”

“By tearing and losing the only thing that can complete the mission?!” Bulkan shouted at the cat. “Then oh yeah, we definitely completed the mission thats for sure!”

“Bulkan would you calm down for just a second!” Hadari exclaimed. “Like seriously, what is the deal with that book anyway?”

“Yeah! Were you gonna sell it for money or something?” said Doku.

“No!” he shouted. “That BOOK….” he took a deep breath to regain his composure. “That book can make all our hopes and dreams a reality, but now with some pages missing we might not have that opportunity anymore. I spent all my life trying to find this book and now when its in our grasp, those...those…”heroes” took it from us! And now we have nothing. NOTHING!”

“Wellll maybe not nothing.”

Bulkan looked over at the small wolf girl who casually adjusted her glasses before speaking. “While you were busy slashing at your tantrum wall, I was looking over the pages Nadare brought back.”

“What did you find?” asked Hadari

“You want good news or bad news?”

“How much more bad news can there be?”

“Good news it is!” she exclaimed before holding up the paper. “It seems we may have the advantage even without the map. This page shows us not only the picture of what we are looking for and if my knowledge of ancient ponish language is correct, down here might be the location of where these are. Again, only if i'm correct. Which now leads into the bad news.”

“And that is..” Bulkan groaned, rubbing his temples.

“While I know some ponish from our travels, whatever this Starswirl guy wrote in here really made sure to not have anyone read it besides him so it may take awhile for me to translate all of these words.”

“How long are we talking?” Tiupan questioned. Kam adjusted her glasses and lowered her head and ears a little.

“Two to three days? Five tops?”

Before Bulkan could start slashing at his wall again, Nadare walked into the room, his mask now off and his jack taken off, hanging on a chair in the corner of the room. His eye was nursed also, since it wasnt too bad of a scratch, Hadari was able to use her waterbending to heal it pretty quickly but it left a scar in its place but he didn’t really mind.

“Make it one day, Kam. We can’t waste anytime. I don’t care if you have to stay up all night in order to figure it out, get that piece of paper translated as much as you can.”

“Aye aye, Ring!” She saluted before heading over to her workspace to get to work on translating it.

“As for the rest of you.” he said. “Go to bed. I want you all full of energy first thing tomorrow morning. I'll stay up and take the watch.”

Hadari looked her friend with a little concern “Hey, Nadare. Don’t beat yourself up too much okay? We’ll get them and that book next time.”

“If they decipher that book before we can with that page, I dont think we’ll have a next time.” Bulkan growled before pushing Doku and Cya to the side and headed out the front of the hideout. “Im going for a walk.”

The door slammed, sending an echo throughout the hideout. Mona then yet out a cat-like yawn and stretched herself a little. “Yeah. I should probably get some sleep too. That fight made me exhausted” she said before jumping down from the table and walking over to her room. “Peace!” she said before closing her door.
The others soon followed behind and said their goodnights and headed to their rooms, the only ones being Nadare, Hadari, and Kam who was at her workshop. Nadare sighed before looking up to see Hadari still there with him.

“I gave you an order, Dari. Im fine. Now go to bed.” he demanded before walking back up to the rooftop of the hideout. Hadari looked on before sighing and walked into her quarters. Something is going on with her friend. Being the “mom” of the team, it was always her duty to find out what was happening with someone and would not stop until she figured it out. It was just instinct for her. She wants to make sure her team has no distractions when doing a mission. From what she learned while in the Triads, a single string can ruin the entire blanket, meaning just one person distracted can lead to the failure of an entire mission. She wants to make sure they are safe and that nothing will ever happen to them. That was her job as “second in command”, or in Bulkan’s eyes, third.

Speaking of which, what was going on with Bulkan? Ever since he told us about this “untold power” mumbo junk, he literally said nothing else as if it was supposed to be a secret. Not even Nadare knows this whole thing and he’s never questioned since he trusts Bulkan. But does Bulkan feel the same way back? Well whatever the case is. Its time to put her mommy powers to work and get to the bottom of this. Hopefully, very soon.

The school bell rang for the end of lunch time. Student began to flood the hallways of the highschool as everyone began to head back to their respective homerooms to continue on the rest of the day. Fortunately for the Guardians, they had a free period now since P’Li has given the senior class some free time to prep for graduation in the coming days, Which meant the Guardians planned on using that free time in the library to try and decipher more of the pages. Over the course of the day before, they had little to no luck in the library. While Starlight’s family knew some of the ponish language, it just seemed like Starswirl was careful of what to write and how to write in his journal. As if it was only for his eyes only. Talk about privacy. While some of the Guardians were inside the library, Chi and Hiro were just heading out of the cafeteria, staying behind to pick up the prank they made on their history teacher, heading over to meet up with the others. Chi looked much better than she did the last couple days, back to her bubbly spunky self put a sigh of relief on everyone’s faces. With her energy back, she decided to pull one last prank to end the school year with a bang. Literally. Fortunately it took them not as long as before Chi gained her super speed.

“I think that was our best prank, yet!” she exclaimed, as they both walked out into the hallway. “The look on his face when you gave him that pie!”

“Nothing’s better than a good ol’ “pie in the face” joke” said Hiro, his hands resting behind his head.

“More like a dozen. Guess that Home Ed guess finally paid off!”

“I can’t wait to tell Aunt Pinkie about this!” Hiro exclaimed as he pulled his phone out of his pocket and took a look at the pictures. “She’s gonna be so jealous!”

“Heck yeah!” said Chi, showing her recent post on her page. “This is my most liked video yet!”

“Man I wish the others were here to see this in person. “ Hiro sighed. “Yeah we’d probably get a scolding from Iris but even she would’ve giggled a little bit.”

“Yeah but remember, they still had to translate the rest of those pages from the other day.” Chi brought up. “I wonder if they got any more deciphered?”

Hiro shrugged. “Guess we better head over there and find out ourselves”

But it seems they would be a little more late to meeting up with the others when the two suddenly saw Aku, jock of the senior class and the school bully, pinned a freshman pegasus to the wall. Chi and Hiro figured that it was the last days of school so it would make sense for her to go after the underclass a few more times, tripping them, stuffing them in a locker, or even giving them a wedgie like all school bullies do But when they got closer, they realized that Aku was much scarier than usual and by the looks of it, was going to rip the heart right out of this poor freshmen.

“Hey, Silverstreak!” Aku shouted, even though she was literally face to face with the freshman. “You owe me remember?! Time’s up!”

The poor silver pegasus shivered in pure fear as he stared into the human firebender’s eyes, his wings rattling like a pair of maracas.

“I’m sorry, Aku!” he squeaked. “Its just been a rough couple of weeks, I’ll pay you back! Promise!”

“That’s what you said, last week!” Aku bellowed. “And the week before that, and before that! I'm getting sick of the excuses! Where are my bits?!” she banged the locker beside him, leaving a small dent in it. He squeaked a little as it nearly missed his ear, thought the force of her punching did leave a high ringing in his ears afterwards.

“I-said I’ll pay you back!” he said. “When you graduate! O-okay?”

“Nope! You’re too late for that, pal!” she said. “You know what happens to those who mess with me?”

Silverstream could feel tears coming down his face and his eyes cowering behind his head as he closed his eyes and awaited his fate. Chi an Hiro saw this and they knew for a fact that they were not gonna stand by. The two marched over to the senior and freshman and stepped right in between the two.

“Aku. Let him go.” said Chi in a commanding voice.

The senior looked up and growled at the two, letting the freshman go and instantly he zipped on out of there to his homeroom.

“Gah. I told you guys not to get in my way again!” she exclaimed as she cracked his knuckles.

“Look, Aku. I know its the last days of school and you wanna get your last bit of bullying out of the way.” said Hiro, crossing his arms and shaking his head. “But this? This is too far. He’s just a freshman.”

“Freshman or not, he owes me, Sato!” she said in protest. “You should know how it feels when people owe you some money!”

“Yes. Yes I do.” he said calmly. “But I don't threaten them to pay me back. I go and talk to them like a normal human being I am and try to work things out normally. You don’t see me hovering a rock over their head now do you?”

“Well that’s you” she said.

“Thats everyone including me.” he retorted.

“Now why don’t you just back off, will ya?” Chi said.

Aku was reaching her breaking point with these guys as she clenched her fists.

“Yknow. Im really started to get sick of you “Guardians”. Just because your family is famous and important does NOT mean you have to be high and mighty!”

“What are you talking about?” Chi asked, confused, not noticing a group of students surrounding the three.

“You guys are nothing but a bunch of bucking nobodies who only save the world to get attention.”

“Hey, Aku. Calm down okay?” Hiro said, his voice now calm and reassuring. “Here, I’ll pay you back from what Silverstreak owes-”

“Don't you DARE give me ANY of you money, rich boy!” she bellowed.

“Hey woah!” Chi manifested between the two. “No need to get riled up! Were just saying to cut it out alright? We don't want any trouble! He’s just trying to help!”

“Should’ve thought of that when you stepped in, blue freak.”

Chi could feel her anger beginning to boil but she tried to keep it from showing, both in emotion and skin color.

“it's time I show you guys how much of a faker you are. So i'm gonna ask one more time, wisp.” she growled. “Get out of my way or do you wanna prove that your as loyal as they say?”

“I think we both know the answer to that.” she replied, her voice shaking but not from fear, but from not letting her anger coming out. Hiro peered over her shoulder, only to notice that her skin edges were now a small faint red and...magenta? Come to think of it, her sol, which glowed dimly underneath her shirt was looking more red than blue.

Chi took a deep breath and exhaled. “Come on, Hiro. Lets go.” she lowered her defenses and the faint color and sol returned back to their normal blue color. Hiro sighed in relief and walked behind Chi as they headed back on their way to the Library. Aku seeing this, finally had her rage boil over as her hand began to glow. Hiro looking down, saw this as looked over at Chi. He realized what she was gonna do and ran over to Chi.

“Bubs look ou-GAH!” he screamed as the ball of flame made a direct hit into Hiro’s chest and launched him several feet down the hallway, hitting the floor and sliding across it a couple more feet before coming to a halt a few feet from the library. Chi gasped in shock and sped on down to his side to check him. Aku looked on, looking stunned and instant guilt at what she did.

“Hiro!” she exclaimed. “Hiro! Are you okay?!”

At first he didn’t say anything, but after a few seconds he coughed and wheezed before letting out a groan, clutching his stomach.

“Oooh” he whispered. “That’s gonna hurt in the morning for sure.” he winced as he tried to get up, but the pain was too much for him to stand. Chi couldn't believe what he had done, he could’ve gotten himself hurt or even worse. He knew she could take it more than him. Why did he jump in the way?

Questions upon questions flooded her mind as her anger began to boil over, her bright blue skin now becoming a mixture of magenta and redish color. Her eyes changed from her bright purple pupils to a dark red and her sol now glowed much more than normal, but now in the bright color of magenta. Electricity suddenly began to surge out of her fingertips and hair, hitting the wall, lockers and ceiling lights as several students stepped back as she got up and looked over at Aku, who began to have fear in her eyes.

“Chi…” Hiro called out but it was too late. The wisp zipped on back to the senior, her hand enlarging and grabbed her before slamming the hand into a row of lockers, leaving a much bigger dent that what Aku put on there.

“You made a BIG mistake, mutt.” she spoke, her voice now eerie and cold, the magenta bolts of lighting now surging and getting bigger and more dangerous as Aku and several students could feel the hair on their arms, legs and head stand straight up as if they were touching an electric ball in science class.

Aku tried to best to keep her cool and used her strength to break free from the wisp’s enlarged hand and landed on the ground. She was a little sore from the impact of the wall but not as much to where she was in pain. She cracked her neck and knuckles before getting into a fighting stance.

“I’ve been needing a rematch from last time.” Aku stated before reaching her hand out and giving the wisp “Come at me” action. Hiro, with the help of some classmates, finally got up and looked at the fight that was about to happen.

“Oh boy” he whispered before running down to the library to tell the others about the impending fight about to happen.

*(~)*
Mai groaned as she finished another book and tossed it on to the ever growing pile of useless information the group found.

“Nothing there either?” Iris asked. Mai shook her head.

“What about you, Chrysalis?” the changeling sighed sadly and shut the book she was reading before placing it on her own pile. Hozu groaned and tossed his book aside, getting a group of glares from the other student from the loud noise.

“Nothing. I mean, Star Swirl was a genius, obviously. But forget Olde Ponish. There's parts where his hornwriting is like another language!” Mai exclaimed as she groaned again and banged her head on the table, earning an angry glare from the librarian. “Like, what is with this pony?!”

“Starswirl has been known to have extra security measures to make sure nobody took his stuff.” Iris pointed out. “His journal was no exception. He really REALLY wanted to make sure nobody stole what was inside.”

“Ugh. I haven't spent this much time reading since we had to do that book report about the 100 year war.” Nori sighed as she closed a book and rubbed her eyes, though making sure she didn’t remove a eyelash or messed up her makeup. “Perhaps it is time to take a break. This mystery is over a thousand years old, after all. Another day or two won't make a difference.”

“Two days?!” Gallant shouted, before earning a loud “shush” from the librarian. “Two Days?!” he said again but whispered. “I don't want to waste two seconds! I'm close to an answer. I can feel it! Besides, Nori remember, we have to get this before the claws figure it out.”

Akari placed her book down. “Wow. Gallant, I haven’t seen you this determined since our class elections.”She then leaned over and placed a hand on the unicorn’s shoulder. “But Nori’s right. We've been studying' and referencing' and cross-referencing' for almost three days straight. If we keep this up, the claws might as well be in the lead. A break for at least a few hours or a day could do all of us good, you think?”

Gallant wanted to protest, but besides knowing that his girlfriend would always win the argument, she was actually right. They needed to take a step back if they wanted to go forward and if it means taking a break and possibly letting the claws get it first, then so be it. Besides, they always bounce back from falling down. Gallant sighed and closed his book and the geo-slate.

“Yeah..yeah maybe you’re right.”

“I know I am.”

While the two lovebirds were cooing at each other, Mai felt her geo-slate buzz from inside her backpack. She pulled it out and pressed the button to turn it on. MAGGIE then appeared on the screen along with a holographic version of her boyfriend, Lu Ten.

“Hey guys. Find anything yet on your side?”

Lu shook his head. “No. we didn’t.”

Mai lowered her head. They really were in a pickle this time.

“But your parents did.”

Instantly, Mai’s head shot, a glimmer of hope began to grow. She whispered to the others to come over.

‘What is it?” Iris asked.

“Lu and MAGGIE said that our parents might’ve found something!”

Gallant eyes lit up light dinner plates. “Well, what are you waiting for?! Patch us through!”

“Gimme a second, stallion.” MAGGIE retorted. “Securing a secure connection on a completely different network is not as easy as it looks. Not to mention I have to delete it everytime we finish talking.”

Maggie pressed some buttons beside her before finally giving the thumbs up as Sunburst, Nova, Korra, Twilight, Leilani, Asami, Bolin and Starlight showed up on the screen.

“Hey, Mom.” said Iris. “Wait where’s Dad?”

“He had to check up with the squads.” she replied. “Him and your dad too, Akari.”

“Lu said you guys found something?” asked the pink pony.

“Well more like we might have solved it!” Sunburst bursted out, holding up the book. “I think we translated almost all of what Starswirl said here.”

“Thank Raava!” Nori exclaimed. “Because we couldn’t find pearls in these books here. Like...you don’t have a book for ponish translation but have one for Old Ponish knock knock jokes and pedicures? Come on.”

“Yeah it took some time, and thanks to the help of Leilani and Nova’s knowledge of the language. We were able to decipher what was said here.”

“I have to admit. This was kinda a challenge for me.” Leilani pointed out. “I haven’t spoken that language in a long time so I was a little rusty.”

“Ditto.” Nova added before looking over and noticed a couple people missing.

“Wait. Where’s Hiro and Chi?”

Iris rolled her eyes. “Take a guess?”

Nova didn’t even have to think twice when she said those words. “Oy. Well can’t say I'm surprised since school’s almost over. They better have not done something too stupid though.”

As if right on cue, the library doors bursted open, Hiro running to the group still clenching his stomach from the sharp wince of pain every time he took a step.

“Um guys!” he shouted, getting one final loud angry shush from the librarian who closed her book and walked away. Muttering some words under her breath on how she was not being paid enough for this job along with some other “dirty” words.

“Sorry!” he whispered to her before he continued to run over.

“Hey guys!” he said. “We uh..Oh-uh h-hey! Mom Dad!....Nova.”

The way he said Nova’s name gave him some glances of confusion and sternness from the others. The sorcerer placed a hand on his hip and arched an eyebrow.

“Hiro. Where’s my sister?”

“And what happened to you?” Mai asked.

Hiro rubbed his hair a little as sweat was coming down his face.

“Wellllll funny story. You guys remember Aku right?”

*(~)*
Aku grunted as she crashed into the wall, dusting off the pieces of rubble from her head and body. She glared at Chi, who was still looking as angry as ever. While the students could’ve been running or getting help, they were busy chanting “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

Aku was beginning to feel tired. Even in a sparring match in gym she could always tell Chi’s next moves and beat her with and without her powers. But now it was like she was a whole new person. Sweat poured down her face and neck as she staggered to get back up and try to land a hit but everytime she tried, the wisp got the best of her and knocked her down.

“What's the matter, jocky? Thought you could take me on?” taunted Chi. “Heh. You think you're so tough taking advantage of these students. OUR student body. You’re pathetic. It just shows how much on the outside your a big strong bully but deep down...you are nothing. nothing.

“Shut up!” she shouted firing a blast of fire at her, in which the wisp dodged easily by leaning to the side.

“It's time you finally realize how it feels to be like them.” said Chi as she zoomed up and pinned Aku to a wall. The muscular athlete was too tired to even defend herself at this point as Chi was about to deliver the final blow. “Open wide.”

“CHI STOP!”

Instantly the wisp froze, her enlarged fist just mere inches from her face as the booming voice of Iris echoed throughout the halls, silencing everyone within the area. There was no doubt she got that trait from her mother. As if right on cue, the red-magenta colors surrounding her as well the lighting began to disappear from her, returning back to her normal blue self. She shook her head and blinked a few times before realizing what happened and what she was doing.

“Wh-Aku? How did you-?”

She felt a sudden grip on her shoulder as she was pulled off the firebender and was met face to face with the school principal, who did not have the happiest look on his face. The wisp got a quick glance of her surroundings, as well as her friends who either looked concerned, or shook their heads in disappointment. She looked up and chuckled nervously.

“Uh heh heh…...oops?”

*(~)*

“Get out!” Shouted the principal as the two figures from his office walked out the door and went their separate ways. To say the principal was not happy was an understatement of the school year. Everyone could hear him shouting from the other side of his big wooden door as he told the two that this was inexcusable. Fortunately, he did not expel them since that would be pointless because of school ending and they allowed them to graduate still. But their parents,or in this case Chi’s brother and sister in law will be told about this, and while the Sato’s have agreed to pay for the damage, they will fix the everything that was destroyed or broken when summer hits and finally they were suspended for the rest of the day. As they walked out Chi tried to walk over and apologize to Aku, but the look of fear in her eyes prevented that. She didn’t even threaten her or anything. She just walked away, not saying a word hitting the entrance door on the way out of the school. Chi sighed and walked out the door just as the second to last bell rang. She felt a vibration and picked up her phone from her skirt pocket to see it was Iris from the group chat. She sighed and opened it up.

So? What did the principal say?

Good news: I'm still wlking. Bad news: Summers gonna suck

Ouch

What were you thinking? It's not like you to do something like that. You’re better than this.

IDK. it just...came over me, One minute I was at Hiro’s side and the next thing I knew I had her pinned to a wall. That’s all I remember. Btw how are you doing, Richie?

Eh. it's no big deal. I've felt worse. Though it still stings to breathe

Are you sure you’re alright, Chi?

Guys. Dont worry about me. I’ll see you after school alright. I really dont wanna talk about this right now.

Were not done talking you know that.

Yes, mom. See ya later this evening.

Chi was about to put her phone away when she got another buzz, this time from Nova who simply told her to come home instantly. Chi rolled her eyes and placed it back in her pocket before walking out the door.

"Hey Chi!"

The wisp shrieked at the voice of the person calling her name she frowned before looking up to the heavens and mouthing "Why me?" before turning around to see Akira walking to her, putting on a fake smile.

"Oh! Uh hey, A-Akira!"

"Thank goodness I caught you before you headed home." He said before digged into his pocket, pulling out an object and handing it to Chi. She gasped when she saw it was her necklace before looking down and finally noticed that it was missing.

"M-my necklace!" She exclaimed. "Where did you get this? How did you get this?"

"It fell off during your little tango in the hallway with Aku." He replied. "I tried to find you but class started and I missed you."

"Oh..OH! yeah I had uh...well...y'see um..how should I put this."

"Principal's office I presume?"

Chis eyes lit up. "How did you-"

"Kinda impossible to dodge a event like that WITHOUT being sent there. Well...that and our class could hear him screaming from down the hall. Got so bad teach just decided to do a study hall. Well tried too"

The wisp could feel her face and skin begin to warm up. She tried her best to cover it up but her body was saying otherwise.

"Hey uh, Chi? You're-"

"Glowing? Pft! What? No it's just does that when I get hot and phew wow is it hot out here or is it just me because man I should take me jacket off don't wanna melt y'know and that's a total pain of course you might not know what it's like to melt since I think your kind of spirits can't do that y'know?.......pal? Hehehehehe"

She gave him a crooked smile at the end making Akira look a little uncomfortable for his liking. She noticed something different about Akira’s face.

“Hey..what happened to your eye?”

“Huh?” he replied. “Oh! Yeah uh. Remember my cat right?”

“You mean the ball of fur that tried to scratch me?”

“Yeah. He was kinda grumpy the other day. Guess he didn't get a goodnight sleep.”

“Oof” replied Chi. “Well at least its not worse than the trouble I’m in.” she slouched a bit a frowned. “Nova and Sunset are gonna turn me into a coat hanger after this.”

Akari frowned. He honestly felt a little bad for her. She really felt guilty about what happened and looked innocent. He placed his hand on her shoulder, which instantly caused her to tense up and blush a deep red.

“Hey. If it's alright with you, we can go back to your house together.”

Chi tried to say something but her words were stuttering as she stood in place. “M-M-My place? But I need to get my house cleaned up y'know with my nephew and my room is a pigsty and I really don't want you to smell my gym shorts . Gah! No no I mean my week old t-shirts! Nono I mean my uh….”

“Its okay. It okay.” Akria replied. “Look tell you what.” Akira reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. “Can I see your phone?”
Chi nodded and pulled her phone from her pocket, handing it to him. Several seconds later there was a ping on her phone as he handed it back to her.

“Theres my number and chat ID. If you ever wanna talk Im here.”

“Oh...thanks.” she said, her voice a little eyes as she blushed even more. She was startled as she got another buzz from her phone and looked, only to cringe when she saw who texted.

“Oy. I better get going. Uh..have a good evening pal UH Akira! Bye!”

And with that she zoomed off campus. Akira looked on at the blue streak and chuckled lightly.

“She is one strange gal that's for sure.” He said to himself before he got a ping from his phone and opened it up. He sighed before pushing a button and placing it up to his ear.

“Sup? Really? Already? Heh. Remind me not to judge you, sis. Alright on my way.”

*(~)*

Chi has seen both Nova and Sunset angry before. I mean living with a almost 2000 year old sorcerer she got used too and she has seen Sunset’ fury in person plenty of times but even she wasnt prepared for what happened. It felt like forever Nova shouted at her, his wife letting him release it all out. By looking into his eyes, Chi could tell he was not only furious but also dissapointed in her for doing this. Fortunetly, Eclipse was at his training with Iris today so he didnt have to hear any of this. Finally, Nova stopped shouting before he could pass out. He sighed and rubbed his temples, placing a hand on his hip.

“So….what do you have to say for yourself, sis. Hm?” He asked, his voice while not having the echos of all the demons in tartarus still had sense of anger inside of it. The wisp slouched in her seat before looking up and giving him a small nervous smile.

“Im….sorry?”

Nova growled as his face and horn glowed a bright red and purple. Chi squeaked and turned into a mouse to hide underneath the pillow on the couch. He was about to let the hounds out of the gate before Sunset grabbed his hand, making him calm down and take in a few deep breaths. She then used her magic to pull the wisp-turned mouse from under the pillow and bring them up to their faces, laying her on her palm.

“Chi...what were you thinking?” She asked.

“I dont know! I swear!” She squeaked. “Its just one moment, Me and Hiro were walking away and the next Im standing in front of a dent in the lockers>”

“Chi I want to believe you but-“

“But ever since that night you have been acting strangly!” Nova exclaimed. “You said you were alright but clearly you are not after whatever happened.”

“Nova, Sunset You have to believe me! I swear that I have no idea what happened...Wisp’s honor!”

The couple shared a quick glace at eachother. They both knew about a wisp’s honor and what it holds. If she’s pulling that card, then its no doubt she was telling the truth. Even if it still sounded a bit fishy.

Nova sighed again. “Okay...okay...I believe you. Of course I believe you. You’re my sister.” He said. “But that doesnt change what happened. You’re lucky Asami was willing to fix the school and I expect you to apologize to her when you see her again.”

The mouse wisp sighed and transformed back into her human self floating down to the couch. “I know.”

“Im not gonna punish you. I think starting your summer with fixing the school is a good enough one for me. Wouldn’t you think Sunset?”

Sunset nodded. “Me and Nova are needed back to finish up some things. Until we get back, you are to stay here. NO going out with friends and NO video games
for a week. Got it?”

Chi lowered her head. “Yes, ma’me.” She said before slowly floating to her room, not even bothering to open the door as she phased through it. Nova and Sunset looked at each other with a frown.

“You think I was a little hard on her?” Nova asked.
“Nova, its okay.” Sunset reassured, sitting down next to him. “You dont have to feel like your her guardian anymore.”

“But I am her guardian.” He said. “I promised Shade that I would take care of her. Be the big brother she lost. But everytime I get angry at her, it just kills me inside. I cant stand to see her upset at you or me.”

“Its not like you’re overprotective or anything.”

“Of course not! That wisp can take on a wild Buffalo Hare without even turning into a Badgermole. I know because I saw it happen. Look the point is, Chi lost her entire race. Her mom, dad, everyone she loved was gone. She got into a fight with her brother which led her to nearly die, she was betrayed. I know she’s tough but its just everytime I get angry and look at her, Its like...its like.”

“You can see yourself? That you suffered because of anger, selfishness, betrayal, and power?”

“Exactly! Now with what happened and the anniversary. She feels much more off than in the past. I could tell when she came home from school that day. I think her emotions are starting to get to her.”

Sunset placed her hands on top of Nova’s, removing a strand of his silver hair away from his face. “Honey, how did you deal with the loss of youre people?”

“Went through my kind of grief which had me hating my friends, being alone, grumpy, and ended with me creating a psychotic version of myself bent of destroying everything good.”

“Have you ever seen Chi…..go through the same thing?”

Nova was about to open his mouth but suddenly it came to him. Besides her shedding a few tears, he has never seen her cry before. He always knew Chi as someone who always try to be strong for her and Nova on their journey and even when she became friends with Iris and the gang. Yes, she would cry but besides that one time when they were locked up with Iris and Akari and that fight, she never really cried about what happened to her people. She must know thats not healthy for her.

“People tend to grief in different ways. Maybe Chi is just finally starting to do hers. Probably not the best way in doing it on her end but still. When the time is right, we’ll all be there to help her grief and let it all out. Until then, I think its time to give her some space.”

Nova sighed. “Yeah. Maybe your right.”

“Im always right.”

He rolled his eyes and gave her kiss on the forehead. “Hopefully this new quest will take her mind off It. Once this is dealt with, lets sit down and have a talk with her, maybe we can get her to open up. Come on, lets go.”

The two got up and grabbed their jackets and the keys to their car.

“We’re leaving now, Chi! We’ll see you later tonight!”

They waited for her to reply but got no answer. The two shared a concerned glance before heading out the door, locking it up.

*(~)*

“And thats what happened.” Chi finished as she was chilling in her hammock, talking to her friends in a group chat on her Geo-Slate, save for Iris who was still training with Eclipse. “After that he just sent me to my room and the two went back to your mom and dad’s workshop to meet up with the others.

“Wow….” said Akari “I know Nova can get angry but they way you described it, was he that mad?"

“Yeah.” Chi replied.

“So are you grounded or something?” Gallant asked

“I dont know, man. I mean, I didnt hear them say grounded so I guess Im not? But i think they don’t want me to leave my room until they get back…..and Sunset said no video games either.......yeah im grounded.”

‘Well it could’ve been worse.” Said Hiro, who was wincing every so often from Mai as she was adjusting his badadge around his gut. “At least your not being wrapped in bandages like a MOMMY!” He glared down at his sister “Can you at least be a little more delicate?”

“Well maybe if you keep still, it wouldn't hurt as much!” The firebender snapped back.

“I said I could take care of it myself! I don't want your Polarbear Dog like muscles to turn my body into a corset!”

Mai growled and tugged on the bandage, knocking all the air from his stomach before tying it up from behind.

“There your highness. Want me to warm you up with a hot bowl of soup?”

“Actually that would be nice. And some bean buns too?”

Mai’s brow began to twitch and the small glimpse of a vein sticking out of her head could be seen. Hiro noticed then and quickly sucked in his lip.

“Right. Sarcasm.”

Chi rolled her eyes. “Hey Hiro...about today.”

“Hey, Bubs dont worry about it.” He said with a smile. “Its not your fault.”

“It kinda feels like it is. You know I could've taken that."

“So you don’t remember anything that happened after Hiro was hit?” Akari asked. “Like nothing at all? Not even a flash?”

“Again no I don’t. Its just a blur.”

“People have said that you looked different too.” Mai pointed out. “Like you were more magenta colored. And I know thats not part of your color library of emotions as far as im aware.”

“I know I know...gah I feel so stupid!”

“Hey don’t beat yourself up, dude.” Said Chrysalis. “Look. We all know you’ve been taking these last couple days pretty hard and its just your emotions got the best of you but you gotta remember that were always here to help you. it could've been alot worse."

“Yeah, Chi.” Said Hozu. “I know were still getting to know each other but from what Iris told me about you, you’ve already done so much for the group. Take my advice as an ex-con/trickster. You dont have to fight your battles alone. If you need to talk to us, then we’ll be here.”

“He’s right.” Gallant agreeded. “We’re here for you. Promise.”

“Ahem.”

Pinky Promise.”

Chi couldn’t help but give a small smile, enough to where she hoped they didn’t noticed but they probably did. She knew she could trust her friends with her feelings and they can trust her. She is the element of loyalty after all.

“Thanks guys.” She said. “I’ll...I’ll keep that in mind. by the way, How did your parents take the news?"

The group stayed silent for a few seconds before a ring could be heard on Chrysalis’s phone as she picked it up and looked at her screen, silently gasping.

“What is it, Chrysie?” Akari asked.

“Oh sorry!” She said as she put her phone away and placed some books in her backpack. “Its just my “appointment” is coming up.”

“Appointment?” Chi questioned. “Appointment for what?”

“I’ve been doing a...uh...Internship for my psychology degree.” She said as she packed some art materials and a sketch book in her backpack.

“Internship? You’re not even in college yet.”

“You know how I am. Early bird gets the worm.”

Mai raised an eyebrow. “Uh huh. Well good luck at your “appointment”.

“Thanks Bubs. Ill talk to you guys later! Let Iris know I said hi!”

The group waved at her before she disconnected from the call. Nori looked down at her watch.

“Oh, Coral! I better get going too. Its almost dinnertime!”

“Oh okay. Talk tomorrow?”

“Of course, Starfish! See ya guys!”

And with that, Nori logged off as well. Soon after, Hiro, Mai, Gallant, and Hozu logged off as well since they had either dinnertime or continued to do research. Akari and Chi were now in the call but not for as she too got the call for dinner.”

“Hey Chi…”

“No no its fine. I better head off to. Might as well make dinner or something.”

Akari sighed. “Hey. Just remembered what we said. You can trust us.”

“I know….” she said with a sigh. “I talk to you tomorrow. Night, Pink.”

“Night, Chi.”

The two disconnected from the call and Chi was now left staring at a blank screen. She let out a sigh and put her geoslate on the table next to her. She got up from her hammock and went to the kitchen and began to make something light for dinner. Unfortunately , she set the stove to high and burnt her soup. How do you burn soup? Don't ask me.

She was so tired. Today complete love drained her. Even her bright blue glow was beginning to go dim due to her stamina being low. These last several days has been a road trip for her. But even after today she still couldn’t understand what happened to her over there. She glanced down at her hands, still blue and large as ever before taking her second not burnt bowl of soup and sitting down at the table to eat or more like just play with her food.

She still couldn’t believe what happened today, all she remembered was just seeing Hiro down, a sudden surge of energy flowing within her, and then being yelled at Iris to stop. Its like she lost control of her body and it was in control of somebody else. No, something else. But what was controlling her? And why? Chi sighed and looked at her soup at her reflection….only for it to look back her with a big grin on her face.

“It was awesome wasn’t it?”

“GAH!” She screamed knocking the soup at the wall, shattering the bowl, the liquid and its condiments sliding down the wall. She looked down and noticed her shadow on the wall began to shake the food off her.

“Blegh!” She said spitting out some vegetables. “You can’t even make soup without having it taste awful!”

“It was YOU!” She exclaimed, pointing a finger at the shadow. “You turned me into...into….”

“Someone that can finally stand up to that brat?” The shadow finished. “Yep. Thats me. You’re welcome!” She said, taking a bow.

“Why did you do that?!” Chi shouted. “I got suspended because of whatever you did!”

The shadow rolled her eyes. “Oh stop with the whining! Its not like you got exspelled or anything.”

“It made me look like an idiot!”

“Hey I made YOU look awesome, okay?” The shadow snapped back. “Not only did I help you stand up to someone that not even your pal Iris could even do but I also made you much powerful!”

“You did what?”

“Oh come on! Admit it! That sudden surge of energy flowing through you. That felt great, didnt it?

Wait, sudden surge of energy? Chi opened her mouth the protest but soon quickly retracted. Come to think of it, she did remember that happening just as everything went black. Whatever it was, she had to admit. It kinda felt...good. Like she was standing up to a bully who was terrorizing that student and many others. Inlcuding herself. But at the same time, did she really get what she deserved? Like she was mean and has always caused issues so..perhaps it was the right thing to give her a taste of her own medicine. Especially when she hurt Hiro. That was crossing the line.

“See? I knew you liked it.”

Chi shook her head and stretched towards the shadow. “Look. I dont know what game you are playing here and why Im your little puppet but when I tell Nova when he gets back-“

“You’ll what? Tell him that your shadow is the one that made you do it? Like he’ll ever believe you.”

“Of course he will! He’s my brother!”

“Adopted brother, sweetheart.” Corrected the shadow. “And lets face it, that look he had in his eyes kinda shows that he’s beginning to doubt you.”

“Thats not...shut up!” She shouted, banging on the wall. Just what do you want?”

“Its not about what I want. Its about what we both want.”

Chi was even more confused and frustrated now. “What are you saying? And who are you?”

“Like i said, Im your conscious.” She replied, her shadow hand stretching out from the wall to shake Chi’s. "But if you really wanna know, names, Salem."

She waited for Chi to shake her hand but realized by the defensive look on her face, she wasn’t buying it. Salem sighed and retracted her hand, her face now becoming more serious and stern. “Look. I only want to help you.”

“By getting me in trouble?” Chi said before scoffing. “Pfft. Some help.”

“No. Listen, I know its been hard for you all these years. Im just here to help. I can help you get what you want.”

“What can you possibly give to me that you haven’t already?”

“You’re family back.”

Instantly, the wisp’s face went from anger to sadness. Her eyes widened at the mention. Could she really...no. Its probably just another trick….is it?

“What are you saying?” She questioned.

Before Salem could talk further, the looked to see the door handle jiggling. Someone was coming.

“Look we can’t talk now. We’ll talk later. Promise.” She said before reverting back to Chi’s shadow.

“Hey wait!” Chi shouted but she was already gone. She saw the handle turning and looked to see the mess made. Using her super speed, she cleaned up the mess in a instant and sat down on the couch, reading a comic just as the door opened, revealing to be Iris, carrying an exhausted Eclipse from his day of practice.

“Oh hey, Chi.”

“Sup?” Said the wisp, not taking her eyes off the comic book.

“Eclipse is pretty exhausted from his training.”

“Oh really? Hows he doing?”

“Well he almost has multiple levitation down and hes just starting to learn how to use spells. The safe ones that is.”

“Awesome!” She exclaimed. “The dudes getting better and better every day!”

“Eeyep.”

There was an awkward silence which was broken by the yawn of Eclipse. Chi put down the comic and flew over to her nephew.

“Aw. Is somebody tired already?”

“What? No. Im just..streeeeeeetching” he said as he let out another yawn.

“He had dinner at our place since it was ready. Don’t worry. Nova said it was fine.”

“Coolio.” Chi replied as she hoisted Eclipse up on her shoulders. “Come on. Lets tuck you in, kiddo.”

*(~)*

After tucking Eclipse in, much to his protest, he quickly fell asleep. Chi gave him a small kiss on the head and quietly closed the door. She then walked back to the living room.

“He’s asleep.” She said.

“Good.” Iris replied. “That kid really worked himself out today.”

“Im not surprised. He did say he wanted to train to become just like us. He really does admire us.”

“I can tell.” Iris said with a small giggle. “He’s has spunk. You’re level of spunk.”

“I guess Im rubbing off on him. Lets just hope he doesn’t do what i did when you were 13.”

“Dont remind me.” Said Iris. “But I did learn a valuable lesson”

“Whats that?”

“Never trust you on a prank again.”

“Oh stop!”

The two giggled at the fond memory. There was another awkward silence before Iris clearned her throat.

“Hey uh….Akari texted me that you guys chatted.”

“Yeah.” The wisp replied.

“Chi...you do know that were here for you. You can trust us.”

“I know I know. But I dont want you guys worrying about me. Today was just an off day alright? Please? Can we leave it at that? I dont wanna talk about it anymore. At least not now.”

Iris sighed. Chi can be pretty stubborn when it came to her feelings. Though to be fair, she should let it slide at least for today. As much as she wants to discuss it, its probably best to let it go at least for today. She’s already been through enough as is.

“Okay. But were not done with this.”

“Oh I know, sister. I know.”

The two then heard to the door open to see Nova and Sunset walking back in.

“Hey girls.” Nova greeted. “I take it Eclipse is asleep?”

“Yes, Sir.” Chi replied.

“Thanks again for feeding him tonight.” Sunset thanked Iris. “If we knew we would be this long.”

“Hey its no problem!” Iris replied waving her hand. “He was really excited to stay for dinner, especially if it meant playing with my mom.”

Nova chuckled. Eclipse always did love to play with Korra whenever he was around. Especially when she took him on a ride high across the city.

Iris looked at the clock at wall and noticed what time it is. “I better be getting home now. Big day tomorrow.”

“Yeah.” Said Sunset. “Its time we solve this mystery. Were going to Ponhedge. ”

As on the mention of that word Chi’s head began to throb as images began to flash in her head. Some from the other night encounter and others she’s never seen before. As if they belonged to the memory of another person. What felt like an instant to her was several seconds to the rest of the world as she groaned and clutched her head.

“Hey Chi...Chi?” Iris called out, shaking her friend gently. Instantly, the pain went away and the wisp was back in present time.

“Hey you alright?” Iris asked with concern.

She noticed the three looking at her with worry, before she took Iris’s hand off and brushed it aside.

“Yeah. Im okay. Just tired is all.” She said before letting out a big yawn and stretching herself out. “Im gonna go hit the hay early now. Like you said, big day tomorrow. Night!”

Before anyone could protest or say anything else, she flew off to her room.

“Uh...goodnight?” Nova called out, looking at his wife and friend both shrugging clearly in more confusion than he is. Nova just sighed and hung up his coat.

“Soooo yeah. I better get going now. I’ll see you all tomorrow!”

With that Iris disappeared in a purple flash. All was silent until Sunset sniffed the air, smelling a familiar but rather funky scent.

“Do I smell burnt soup?”
