Rarity has been transported to a city with no one else around. Can she rebuild civilization?
Hello Darling,my name is Rarity. I'm a unicorn. I don't know where I am. I'm not totally alone I have a little baby to stop me from going totally insane.
I know who I am, my name is Rarity. I know what I am,I am a unicorn. But I don’t know where I am. The buildings are large and grey like ponies should be there but no pony is around. I can’t move much ,I found this journal inside a big blue contraption with wheels. It had two lights on the front and lots of windows. A side window was rolled down and i was able to crawl inside which took up most of my energy. This contraption seems to be some kind of carriage ,it has seats inside and a wheel but I can’t make it move. Ow! Sorry I just scraped my hoof up against this key that’s sticking out. Wait,something happened the carriage made a noise. I just noticed a dial inside the carriage,maybe if I turn it-Nope! It was just static . Ugh how do you move this thing? Well you wouldn’t know ,your just a book. Well ,I'm gonna try and work this thing. Wish me luck!

Finally! I found out how to work that carriage thing! It was quite complicated darling. I had to keep my hooves on the floor pedals and turn the wheel at the top. I slumped down to reach the pedals and I couldn't see where I was going. Somehow I made it somewhere without crashing. Evergreen Hospital, I’m sitting in the lobby now. The chairs are high like higher than a barstool ,but are quite comfy. There are 2 machines at the counter. One is a small box with a cord connecting to another box. That machine is blinking,I’ll check it out later. The other machine is larger. From where I’m sitting there’s a part that’s flat and a part that’s up. I think its some type of screen. Maybe I’ll go explore some of the hospital .Bye for now .
-R Dear Journal -Evergreen Hospital Shh. I have to keep this entry short she’s sleeping. Oh yeah I found a small creature,a baby. She has pinkish-peach skin with a brown patch of fur on top of her head. She has five little nubs on each of her hooves and soft blue eyes. She’s so helpless ,so innocent she dosen’t deserve this. Tommorow I’m going to take her and we’re going to find a house. Oh before I forget,she dosen’t have a name so I named her Gem.
I’ve decided to number the days in this journal. If I’m going to be here a long time I need to keep track of the days. Anyway ,little Gem and I are going to be house hunting. To make sure I don’t crash the carriage, I put a cushion on top of the seat and taped small crutches to my legs to press the pedals. I don’t have a safe place to put Gem so I grabbed decent sized cardboard box set inside a blanket and cushion and used that to hold her in the carriage. Then we went house hunting. We drove down 3 streets with no luck. Then I saw a sign that read “Concrete Heights Complex” I stopped the carriage and pulled the crutches off. I’m going to have to find a smaller carriage. I levitated Gem out of her box and set her on my back. As we walked through the buildings I noticed most of the hall doors were locked. After searching the entire building only 3 doors were open. One was a mess and one was completely empty. The one we chose was only a one bedroom but it was very spacious. Gem is starting to complain I’ll go see what’s wrong with her.

Uh Oh! Gem is hungry and I don’t have food for her. I’m writing fast because hdhdh-Sorry I meant I’m looking for the baby section and Gem is crying. Ah Ha Found it!

Good Now she’s calm. I’m writing with my magic because I’m holding Gem.
I found some normal milk to give her. Yes,I know you have to give foals formula but I didn’t have time to make it. I bought a 6-pack of bottles,2 can of formula powder ,some baby spoons and 3 packs of diapers. I found a list of directions for making formula
1.Pour cooled boiled water into the bottle
2.Add formula powder
3.Mix the formula together 4.Keep the bottle at room temperature
5.If travelling keep the bottle ice cold. I just realized that the hot water isn’t going to last for long. If I keep boiling the water it will run out. If we take baths the water will run out. But we need baths! Calm down Rarity you’ll figure this out.
Sorry I haven’t written in the last 2 days. I’ve been very productive. First I decided to shorten the word carriage to car. Then I spent all of Day 3 shopping and conserving water. I took some canned vegetables for myself (just corn and carrots) and I restocked on baby supplies for Gem. Then I grabbed some large containers to store excess water in. My 2 cold -water containers have ice in them,but my 2 hot water containers(one for boiling water) are going to be harder to keep warm when the electricity shuts off. For now I've been keeping those by the stove for warmth. I somehow managed to score managed to find an indoor propane heater even though I don’t know how to use one. On Day 4 I tried to travel outside of the main area. I managed to make it past the hospital when I rolled over something sharp and the car stopped moving. Unfortunately the wheels in this world are not like the wheels in Equestria. There was a hole in the wheel and I couldn’t patch it. Well,I found a scrap of paper but I didn’t have glue or thread. I decided to take that time to practice my magic. I don’t exactly remember what happened after that. All I remember is making my horn glow and then hearing static. Next thing I knew ,the hole was patched so I decided to just go back home. What will I do today? Well I might try to find survivors. I don’t want to risk moving and letting Gem get hurt so I think I’ll broadcast a message. I know Twilight used a spell to amplify her voice,maybe if I make it louder somepony will hear? No,darling that would be too complex,Twilight was an alicorn and I would have to learn it. Gah! Gem stop messing with the static box ! Oh yeah ,I found a portable static box. Hmm,I have an idea. Maybe if I use the amplify spell on the static box it will broadcast. Wish me luck
It worked! Well,kind of worked. I heard a voice but no one came. It was a filly’s voice ,high but quiet. I think if I tell my location she might come. This was my original broadcast”Hello if anypony is out there please come here!” , this sounds like a good broadcast “Hello,if you are out there please come to Evergreen Hospital” Does that sound good? Wow,I’m talking to a book,I'm getting lonely. Gem! Stop that! Be right back .

Good news:I found another pony. Bad news:She won’t talk to me. She told me her name was Wild Lavender but that’s it . She’s an earth pony and she should be good at farming but it seems like she’s only good at being quiet. I brought Gem with me and even she’s bored. Maybe if we leave ,she’ll start talking.

I found something useful about Wild Lavender,she’s good at using the static box,apparently called a radio. She’s also good at keeping Gem occupied which is the only way I can write this entry right now. Gem has been cranky the last few days,I can’t tell if it’s because we’ve been moving around so much or because of something else. I might check on her. Bye for now.
I’ve been in this world for an offical week. I can’t believe it. In 3 weeks I’ll be here for a month, in a few months the seasons will change ,when the seasons change we’ll have to adapt! I CAN”T DO THIS. Ah,calm down Rarity. Maybe I should sew. That always calms me down. Maybe I should make some clothes for Gem. She’s been wearing that diaper for a while
This is my shirt for her. I made it out of towels. Isn’t it nice? Well,Wild Lavender dosen’t seem to like it. Ever since I put it on her she’s been frowning like a judgemental parent. Why should she care? I’m her mother,wait I’m Gem’s mother, I”M GEM”S MOTHER! Tgcbczcgyus. Ugh I have to stop doing that,Lavender just looked at me like I was crazy. Wait,where did she go?

Lavender just dissapeared,one moment she was laying on the floor,the next she was gone. That’s strange I was thinking about looking for her ,but Gem’s been VERY cranky. I’ve checked her diaper and she’s been fed but I don’t know what to do. Ah frick-well Gem just spit up all over the rug. It was my favorite color too. :( Wait,if Gem is sick,how am I going to cure her. She’s not a pony ,she’s a-a creature thing! I also don’t know anything about medicine! If only Fluttershy were here she might be able to help. In the meanwhile I’ll put Gem down for a nap that might help.

WILD LAVENDER IS SUCH A DEMON-PONY!!! (It’s a good thing Gem can’t read) But still,Wild Lavender thinks she can just LEAVE without saying a word and then waltz back in like nothing happened. It’s late and she just walked in and went to bed after being missing HALF THE DAY . Isn’t that rude? I’m going to tell her off when she wakes up!
Dear Journal Day 8 Home {Drops of tears are on this page} I have done the WORST. POSSIBLE. THING! When Lavender woke up I told her ear off about leaving and then coming back,I was yelling and screaming and stomping about,until I found out why she left. She explained that before she found me,she had cut her leg on a piece of scrap wood. She had put a bandage on it,but even after it healed she felt sick. Once she found me,she tried to ignore it in case I kicked her out of the group,but last night she started hallucinating and she had to leave. She hadn’t realized how long she’d been gone. I feel horrible. She hid her illness from me and I got mad when she tried to deal with it. Maybe I’ll have to give up my diva antics if I want to work with other ponies. I’m sorry but I can’t write anymore
Dear Journal Day 9 Park I’ve decided that Gem and I have been cooped up in that apartment for too long. Yes,I know Gem is sick but some fresh air might help her. I invited Lavender to come,but she said she was going to spend the day resting. I grabbed a bag for our baby supplies ,making sure to keep the formula cold and we got into the car. We drove around a bit and I found a park! I’m sitting in the grass right now while Gem is playing with a toy. Its a nice day ,the sun is shining for once. There’s a firework in the sky. Wait fireworks don’t work during the day? Gah what is that loud buzzing? I just heard a crash. I’m going to leave Gem here and check it out..

Her wings are all crooked and bent. She’s bleeding from her mouth and ugh,her eyes are puffed out wide. I have to get her down! I have to save her!
Dear Journal Day 10 Home Apparently getting a pony out of a tree and rushing her back home takes out a lot of your energy. No ,I didn’t forget about Gem ,she’s napping right now!. The victim pony is laying on the floor ,covered in blankets. Lavender saw her as I came in and immediately told me to drop her. Yes it’s a her. Oh wait I never described what she looked like. She’s a turquiousie green pegasus with green eyes and a white pixie cut. There was a band on her hoof that read ‘Emerald Snow’ so I’m assuming that’s her name. She’s breathing , Thank Celestia but Lavender said that unless we found an x-ray ,she probbaly wasn’t going to last long because we can’t see the damage. But I am hopeful, I cleaned the blood from her mouth and ,her front teeth are missing. I traced the outline of her body with my hood and she winced along the side of her back. Lavender went to go find some medicine for her. On the bright side Emerald’s eyes aren’t as puffy anymore and they’re half closed. I’m going to have to splint her wings ,at least that’s what Lavender told me. I mean splinting can’t be that hard, right?

It’s been a few hours. Lavender came back with some supplies and Gem woke up. Lavender got a first aid kit and something called ‘pain killers’ from the hospital. She told me that before I put the splint on we have to check for pain and movement. It was my job to lift up the wings while she lightly pressed them at the base, middle and tip. Emerald winced at the base ,but she didn’t show much reaction at the middle and tip. Apparently that meant the joint attaching the wing to the body was dislocated, while the rest of the wing was probbaly just fractured. Then we had to test for movement. Lavender did this on her own so I fed Gem. Afterwards I wrapped the wings in a bandage and put a stick underneath the wings to keep them secure. I must admit, Lav might be a loner but she’s a good doctor. I’m gonna go play with Gem, bye for now.

{Written in almost illegible scribble} So tired. Can barely stay awake but I have to watche Emerald. She’s doing better now,not sleeping but she looks comfortable .
