A stallion depressed about his broken love revisits the past by singing songs.
Dan Jester was sent off of Ponyville for breaking one rule to save his beloved love, Rainbow Dash. 3 years later and he still thinks about her only for today to break that depression. He sang a song during his journey and was brought in for a heartbreak of his life.
I opened my eyes to another day. The Celestial sun lighting my room revealing a messy room with pieces of clothing on the floor. I got up from my bed, leaving my blanket unfolded and the pillows crumpled. The mirror that stood in front of me showed a stallion with blue fur and a darker blue mane, those crimson red eyes staring down against me as I did to him.
“What’s the use…… I can’t fix this relationship…” I sighed.
A thought crossed my mind as I looked back to the regrettable past.
What if you should just…. Let it go?
I gulped at the thought.
You must be really tired. How long has this been going?
“3 years…..” I answered back softly.
Holding unto the grudges and regrets of the past will continue to dread you. You will be in an unrecognizable despair. What will you do?
“I-I don’t know….”
Below the mirror stood two set of toothbrushes, one with red and the other blue with a rainbow colored thunderbolt.
Do you still love her?
Memories of my past began to play. Memories of me and the rainbow maned mare eating ice cream together, watching the stars, racing, fighting…… and breaking up.
“Yes….. I still do.” I answered weakly.
Then do something about it. You can’t keep this going forever you know?
I looked up at myself. A side of me told me to continue and the other told me to keep it in.
She probably has another stallion by now.
My eyes widened.
“Yeah….. You’re right. I should start getting shit done and stop sulking about these things. Who am I to think that I can’t move past something? I’m Dan Jester!"
So, what’s your plan now?
“I don’t know…”
How about cleaning your room for a start?
“I guess your right.” I smiled as I looked at my messy room. I moved all of the clothing on the floor towards the laundry bin from where a pony will have them washed, cleaned up the beer cans and bottles and fixed my bed.
To my left showed a picture of me carrying Rainbow on my back. I took it and admired the look of the cyan mare.
Shouldn’t you get going?
“O-Oh yeah. You’re right about that.” I placed the picture down and went out of my door into the outside world. Carriages being held by drivers on the road, ponies walking down the street sides, and huge skyscrapers. This is Manehatten.
“I’m going to pay Ponyville a visit then maybe grab some lunch there too. I’ll see what to do from there.” I said inside my head.
Fair enough.
I saw the train station with an empty queue as it was a Monday where work is inevitable for most ponies. I gave 10 bits for 1 ticket and waited for the colorful train to arrive.
What are you going to do there?
“Honestly, I don’t know.” I looked above the blue sunny sky as pegasus ponies clear it even more by pushing the clouds.
“I just feel like going to places I like. Not really know what I’m gonna do there. But, revisiting the place seems pretty exciting.” I smiled at the memories of when I first arrived at Ponyville. I befriended Rainbow so easily and got to know her friends.
You might just regret this.
“I got nothing to lose. I lost too much already and there's nothing I can do about it.” The train stopped in front of me and opened its doors.
“Train to Ponyville!” The train attendant shouted.
I entered and took a seat on an empty area, facing the window.
The train began to finally move. Several passengers entered the train and sat on their respective seats.
I closed my eyes and began to think of a song. I lightly tapped my leg on the ground.

A guitar began to strum to my side. I looked to find a mare holding her guitar and pick while smiling at me. I smiled at her back and continued with the song.

The train stopped and the view outside the window showed the Ponyville I remembered.
I looked at the ponies and saw them pack up and leave the train.
Those guys were good.
“You don’t have to tell me that.”
I exited as well and inhaled the air of the memorable place. But, the huge tree that I used to stay in before now became a huge crystalline tree house.
What happened here?
“Dunno,, but I guess I can grab some info on my way. “ I walked through the streets and got stares from several ponies.
But something felt weird. There was nopony to see for a mile from where I stood. No noises were made, only the wind blowing through the trees and bushes. I looked behind to see the group of talented ponies disappear.
What’s happening here?
“I don’t know.”
I walked around Ponyville for a good 30 minutes, visiting Fluttershy’s hut, Sweet Apple Acres, Carousel Boutique, Sugarcube corner. I looked above the clear sky to see….. Rainbow’s house.
My heart began to beat quick again. I looked forward and moved towards the train from where I came.
Where are you going?
“I…. I just feel like going home right now…” Memories of the fight between Rainbow began to play. I knocked down picture frames, flower pots, glasses, and even her trophies.
Before I could think any longer, a tap was felt on my shoulder. I looked to my left to see the mare from before holding her guitar. Behind her stood 3 ponies. A stallion who held lots of bags with his magic, a mare who held another guitar which looked to be a bass on her neck, and lastly was a white mare with headphones and sunglasses.
“What are you guys doing here?” I asked.
“Don’t be like that. For starters we would like to introduce ourselves.” The bright orange mare cleared her throat, “I am Solar Haze, the main guitarist of the band.”
The stallion who held his bags slowly lowered them and came up. He was tall with grey fur and a black mane. “My name is Emyr Bigstone, the drummer of the band.”
That’s what the bags are for….
A dark blue mare with cyan mane came in between the two, “My name is Moonlight Sona, the bassist of the band.”
The last pony lowered her glasses revealing magenta colored eyes. She gave me a worried look while I gave her a rather confused one.
“Dan… Do you remember me?” She asked.
“Umm…. Sorry but who are you again?” I gave a dumbfound look.
“O-Oh….. Nevermind then….” Her voice was shaking. Small tear drops dropped from her cheeks.
“Sorry about that. This is Vinyl Scrath, our music mind, producer, and dubstep artist.” Solar gave her a quick pat on her back before returning to me.
“Sorry to quickly ask but would you come and play as our vocalist?” She asked with a smile.
“What? Why me?” I questioned.
“Well, you see…. Our vocalist kind of….Umm…. Disappeared.” She answered.
I raised my brow.
“She is sick so to say and we are in kind of a pinch here before we get to our concert. Oh, and of course your voice! It was just amazing back there!” She exclaimed.
I scratched the back of my head and blushed a bit from the compliment. But, a part of me wanted to decline her request.
C’mon Dan…. You finally broke away from that hopeless books and stories you wrote. Now it’s time for you to shine and break from your shell. Tell everypony how you feel and embrace the ovations.
I sighed in defeat.
“You’re right…. I really need to do something about my life…” I said in my head.
That’s the spirit.
“Sooooo…. Is that a yes or a no.” She had a nervous smile.
“Yup. I’ll come and play as your vocalist.” I said with a smile.
“Hurray! Thank you so much for doing so! Ooooh! I got so much things to ask you!” She grew excited. Everypony cheered as well except for one, Vinyl Scratch.
Her face grew almost so worried. Like this was a bad choice….. Not for the group but for something else…. I stood up and tried to walk my way to her only to be pulled into the train that stopped in front of us by Solar.
“So!So! First question! What was the song you sang earlier?” She asked with excitement.
I looked at her then down at my hands. I smiled and gave her the truthful answer.
“Well, it was a song that I made right on the spot. You see, I had a fight with this mare long ago and it didn’t go so well. We tried making things even by doing something horrible to one another if not worse. I’m just trying to live my past is all.” I answered with weak smile.
“Oh…… Sorry. I didn’t know it was that deep.” Her expression immidieatly grew sad.
“No, no. It’s okay. The past is the past. Creating songs like that really helps me relieve the weight.” I said as I looked out of the window. We were headed towards Canterlot.
“Ummm….. Before you ask any questions, where are we going?” I asked.
“Oh right, forgot to tell you. Some special pony got lucky and was asked out to the wedding. Pretty rad at this point of day right?” Solar facehooved herself.
I gave her a brow.
“Oh, we don’t know who it is. We were asked to create a lyrics that represent true love and the hardships to get there!” Her smile stayed.
“And…. That’s why I’m here.” I said.
“Well, mostly for being our vocalist… and helping with out with the lyrics?” She asked with squeak at the end of her nervous smile.
I sighed, “Fine, show it to me…”
“Yes! I knew you’d say that!” She grabbed a piece of paper out of her bag and gave it to me.
“This is the lyrics, it doesn’t seem a little too romantic if you ask me. Our formal vocalist just loves making songs about how great Equestria is. Not that it’s a bad thing.”
I looked at the lyrics only to notice that it literally talks about Celestia and non-other. I gave a stern look and deadpanned.
“Oh right, he also likes Celestia a lot.” She said.
I sighed and gave her the paper back.
“Woah what’s wrong?” She asked.
“Just paly the music to your heart’s content. I’ll figure out a way to make the lyrics. Don’t worry about it.” I said.
“You heard him gang! We get to play our style!” Everypony cheered.
“Maybe less of a dubstep drop Vinyl.” I said.
Vinyl’s eyes widened and dropped a tear from her cheek. She quickly wiped it off and gave me nod, a smile, and a determined look.
You think she is kind of weird?
“Nope, I think that’s just her personality.” I said to myself.
Hours later and we arrived to Canterlot where everypony from Ponyville roamed its streets. The sun began to set without me realizing it. Upon entering through the gate, I was met with an arch of flowers of different colors and a huge space with a stage that held a two big speakers.
“Come this way, it’s only for VIPs.” Solar led the gang behind the stage area. To the corner of my eyes, I saw where everypony was heading to. I turned to see the wedding in progress with a stallion waiting for his mare in front of everypony. Celestia, Luna, Twilight and her gang… Except Rainbow Dash?
Wonder where she could be?
I was instantly grabbed by Solar again to the back of the stage.
“So, have you thought of the lyrics yet?” She asked as the band begins to unpack their instruments.
“I told you I can make it on the spot. Just make sure to get the music right with a chill but no so chill theme.” I said.
“Got it boss!” She ran off to her group.
I took a glimpse of the two ponies kissing and everypony cheering behind them.
Good for them, they must be pretty damn happy.
“Yeah, but I just don’t know who that is…”
“Everypony ready? They will becoming soon!” The curtains closed
“Yup!” Solar shouted followed by the rest of her gang.
I stood ion front of the mic in the middle of the stage. Hoofsteps could be heard gathering in front of the stage. I braced myself for the amount of audience I was about to get. For the first time, I would sing infront of my former friends, allies…. And enemies….
I sighed and looked ahead from which the curtain unfolded. The lights revealed the stage and the band.
I opened my eyes and saw everypony. Twilight Sparkle who has now gained everypony’s loyalty as being a princess, AJ with her usual western hat, Fluttershy with her crown of flowers, Rarity leaning against Prince Blueblood Pinkie holding her party hats and party poppers. And lastly….. Rainbow Dash with….. a blue pegasi.
My eyes immediately widened and my heart shattered in thousands of pieces. Everypony on stage gave me a staredown. Some gasped while others gossiped to each other.
“Hey isn’t that….”
“Oh right…. He saved Equestria before… But was banished by Princess Celestia..”
“Why is he here?”
“Shouldn’t he be leaving!?”
“Get him out!”
“Where is the real vocalist!?”
The enraged crowd threw cakes at me. I was able to dodge some only to be hit by another. I was about to cry of the amount of hatred that was still kept amongst the ponies but Celestia flew in front of them and placed her hooves in front, signaling them to stop. She looks at me with the same look she gave me when I left but nodded afterwards. Twilight’s friends along herself cringed at the sight.
I looked at Rainbow Dash through a tiny hole of cake and saw her with an almost surprised expression.
I cleared my face of the cake and sighed. I signaled the cringed band mates to begin the song.

The song began to play with a piano being played by Vinyl. My eyes widened as I recognized this song. I looked at Rainbow through the crowd as she too was as shocked as me.
Isn’t this…..
“The music I used to dance with Rainbow.” I said in my head.

The music began to amp up as Vinyl hit all the right notes to go with the song. The bass kept the melody smooth and the drums to give it more kick. The guitar by far wrecks it all with its cool unchanging sound.
I saw some heads bobbing to the music while others stomped their hooves on the ground. Twilight’s gang smiled. I looked down at Princess Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Shining Armor.

From then on, the crowd cheered, shouted, and danced. I saw Rainbow drop a tear but her stallion encouraged her to dance to the music as well. She wiped it off and danced with him. Celestia looked at me and gave me a warm smile, something I haven’t seen her do since I left 3 years ago.
Once the music ended, everypony walked towards the snacks bar and food area to have feast on tonight’s wedding day. For me, I sat alone on top of a small hill not so far from Canterlot. I watched the beautiful night as the stars shunned and the big full moon gave light to the wilderness below.
That must be a big let down huh…. You saw her being with another stallion….
“I mean…. What can I do? 3 years for not coming back….. Besides, we fought. As long as she is happy I’m happy as well.” I said softly.
I grabbed the guitar from which I borrowed from Solar and began to strum the strings.
I looked up into the starry night and the stars resembled that of a heart.

I continued my strumming as I let out all my emotions to the birds of the night and moon of Luna. I heard somepony behind me but ignored them as I continued strumming.

I continued strumming and slowly the song that I sang faded into the windy night.
“That was…. Beautiful.” I heard a familiar voice behind me.
I turned my head behind and saw the mare that I interpreted in my song.
“Uhm…. Thanks...” I said as I turned to face the sky.
She came over to my side and sad with me. “We used to look at the stars back then.”
I didn’t answer as the heart shaped star disappeared from the abundance of stars.
“Hey Dan… Do you still remember… The day from which Celestia banished you from Ponyville. Even though we fought against each other… You saved me no matter how bad it was.” She looked at me and I looked at her. Her bright magenta eyes shining against the moon’s light.
“I don’t understand why Princess Celestia did that to you… Just breaking one rule to save one of her ponies…”
“Then we had a fight you and I. Thinking about the punishment whether it will be severe or not. You claimed that we should run away together, but I claimed that you should enjoy life with your friends…” I said still looking up.
“But why? I thought you loved me?” She stood up.
“That was the reason why I did that…. For you to be happy.”
“But I wasn’t! You left me heartbroken…” She teared.
“And that is why you searched for a new one… right?” I asked with a weak smile.
She got nothing to say. Only staring at me with those charming eyes filled with tears flowing down to her cheeks.
“Then why….. Why did you come back today….. Why today…. Why in my wedding?” Her face now filled with anger.
“I was brought here by that band there. I was never supposed to come here in the first place…” I said.
“Dashie! The party is about to finish! Let’s dance to our heart’s content cuz this music was when we first met 2 years ago!” What sounded to be her husband called to her.
“Sounds like you need to get going. I wonder if he bites more than I do.” I chuckled.
She continued to cry. I’ve got nothing to do with her life anymore. She’s got a stallion better than me, she’s living a life happier than me, and she needs to forget me…. I’m nothing more but that stepping stone into a better life at the start.
“If this is really what you want… T-Then I should leave…” She wipes her tears away and looks at me one more time. “I didn’t say this before you left 3 years ago…. Thank you…. For everything you’ve done… And….I love you Dan.” Just like that, the cyan mare ran to the loud party.
My eyes widened at the last response she gave. Many thoughts crossed my mind. Whether or not she meant it.
Just move on dude! You’ve done this countless of times and you’re still going back to it?
I sighed and looked up to the stars, “You’re right….”
I stood up and stretched my body. “I guess I should head back as well.”
I looked behind to see everypony partying to Vinyl Scratch’s dubstep.
I took a step forward only to be stopped by a voice. It was familiar…..
“Hello there, Dan Jester.” Celestia spoke.
“I should’ve known…” I sighed.
I looked behind me again to see the tall white Alicorn staring down on me.
“What is it?” I questioned without the slightest of hesitations.
“Oh, am I not allowed to stroll around my own garden for once in a while?” She chuckled.
“Whatever, I’m going.” I said as I looked away and walked towards the party.
“Wait!” She exclaimed.
I stopped.
“What happened 3 years ago was something that was uncalled for. I was forced to banish you from Ponyville…. But, I didn’t know your relationship with Rainbow back then.” She sounded ashamed.
“But, because you’ve proved yourself to gain everypony’s trust here. I’m honoring a favor and a request for you.”
I continued to look away with bits of my rage and anger kept in one cage of my body.
“Will you please come back to Ponyville?” She asked with a warm smile.
What a request from the Princess herself! So, what will it be Dan? Staying with ponies from which you are familiar with or stay in that one damn room forever.
I sighed. “I’m heading home….” I continued to walk away. I could feel her sadness already. I walked past the party, getting one glance from Rainbow as I did to her. I walked to the gates and towards the train station from where the train waited for me.
Oh…… So you’re taking this route huh.
“Yeah. I have no regrets..... I’ve seen enough.” I said as I entered the train.
“Hey Dashie! I’m here!” I shouted as I entered through her house.
“Coming!” The cyan mare replied as heavy hoofsteps could be heard banging on the wooden floor above.
I walked towards the living room and sat on the couch. Pictures frames on the walls and shelves show Rainbow Dash posing valiantly and daring. Though, she had more pictures with her friends than herself. On a separate shelf were trophies of her winning races as being a Wonderbolt.
She is one competitive mare!
“She suure is.” I said out loud.
“What’s sure?” A voice spoke behind.
I turned to see the Rainbow maned cyan mare wearing her rainbow themed dress with a golden string braiding her hair and a some sort of flower crown.
Like I was saying, I think you should be more-Woah……..
I stared at her with wide eyes for more than a minute as I was entranced by the beauty that stood before me. She looked at me with a smile with a raised brow.
She flipped her bangs revealing those beautiful magenta eyes. “Sooooo?” She asked.
“I…. Uhhh…. Woah… Just woah.” I tried to find the right words but stayed dumbstruck.
She giggled and examined my tuxedo. “Hmmm… You looked better before honestly.” She stated plainly.
“What!?” I exclaimed.
See! I told you to stick to your old hair!
“Im just joking! You look awesome!” She came over in front.
I let out a sigh. “I thought I told you to stop making those type of jokes! I swear my sanity almost fell out of my brain!” I exaggerated.
She giggled and leaned on me. “I know. I just want to know that the real you is still there.” She looked at me in the eye and swooped in for a kiss. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the feeling.
Already in that part, eey?
She backed out and headed for the door. “C’mon! Let’s go! The last one on the Gala is a rotten egg!” She immediately flew out.
“Wait what!?” I soon followed as I stretched my wings and bolted through the air.
I focused on getting in the train first before anyone else. I landed in front of the station to see a few ponies entering with their friends or coltfriends.
7:36 pm, The Gala starts roughly at 8 and the train usually takes time to get there….. Why don’t you just fly to Canterlot?
“I was thinking the same, but I’m gonna get furthermore exhausted before even dancing with Rainbow.” I said in my head.
Fair enough.
I entered the train and took a seat next to the window. The train’s horn echoed through Ponyville as it began to roll its tracks.
You have about 15 minutes to get there.
“I’m sure it’s alright if I’m late by even a minute. I mean the Wonderbolts are gonna be there so if Dash decides to fly there first, then they will keep her occupied.”
“What do you mean?” A voice spoke behind me once more.
I turned to see Rainbow giving a brow.
“Oh… Nothing… Was talking to myself is all.” I said as I scooted over to let her sit next to me.
“Awwww, was Dan worried about his marefriend? That’s just so cute!” She made a duck face and spoke like a mom talking to her baby.
I blushed and looked away. “One, we aren’t official yet. Two, of course I would be worried. Any stallion would fall for you!”
She blushed as well. “Thanks for the compliment Dan, but the only one there for me is you.” She leaned and rested her head on my shoulder. We both looked at each other with a smile.
5 minutes passed by and we kept the pose. She then looked through the window. “Remember when we first met? When you didn’t know the way through the Everfree forest and met the den of the timberwolves?”
I deadpanned at her. “How was I supposed to know? The roads were all blocked by those scary looking trees!”
She giggled and lifted her head. “Yeah, I saved you by instantly snatching you right before you got bit!”
“Fine, fine. You saved me from those timberwolves because you’re the greatest and fastest flyer of all of Equestria.” I said with a dumb tone.
She gave me a stern look.
I chuckled, “Thanks for saving me, Rainbow Dash.” I smiled softly at her as she did to me. The train came to an abrupt stop with the horn playing loud as ever signaling us to depart.
“Let’s go and partaaay to our hearts content!!” Rainbow shouts as she grabs and instantly rushes to the Gala.
We queued for the line. It wasn’t too long nor too short.
So you will just dance with her? That’s it? No playing the guitar or anything??
“Why don’t you just shut up and let me enjoy my time with Dashie?” I said in my head.
Alright, alright, no need to get aggressive there pal.
Once we entered the Gala, our eyes were met with pleasure. The smooth white marble material covering the flooring, ceiling, pillars, and statues. A red carpet was thrown in the middle of room leading to the 3 thrones owned by each Princesses. The middle throne was white and clear as day with a sun symbol on top, beside it sat a dark blue throne with a crescent moon symbol on top, and on the other side sat a pink throne with a crystal heart on top. The lights closed and 3 specific circles of light lit the 3 thrones. Before anyone could speak, a dark blue flash appeared on the blue throne which revealed the Princess of the night, Luna. A pink and red flash appeared on the pink throne revealing a well dressed Princess of love, Cadence. And lastly, a flash appeared on the middle throne, as bright as the sun, it blinded our eyes. Then appeared the Princess of the ponies, Celestia.
Cheers and claps were voiced by everypony that stood before them in the Gala, some even clapping outside.
“Greetings my little ponies. I am Princess Celestia and beside me stand Princess Cadence and Princess Luna. We are very delighted to have you all here to witness the annual festival of the ‘Grand Galloping Gala’!”
Everyone cheered and clapped for the Princess.
“Now, I know that everypony is excited to dance, eat, and wander off through the gardens. I would like to announce a special event for couples. Later on, we will have a soothing dance for those who have a special somepony at the Red Ball. For those who came with friends, please be delighted to join as well. Thank you.”
Rainbow looked at me with a look telling me if we could go. “Yes Dash, we will.” I deadpanned.
She giggled and noticed something at her left. “Hey Dan, the dance will be sometime later in the party right?”
“Uhhmm…. Yeah. Why?” I asked.
“I’m gonna go meet up with my friends first if that’s okay.”
“Of course, be my guest.” I smiled.
“Thanks Dan! You’re the best!” She kissed my cheeks and ran to her friends who were dressed elegantly.
Must be that Rarity girl. Woah, she looks hooooot!
“Hey man, you’re fantasies are also mine. Don’t go around doing that.”
But…. Dat…..Look doe…
“You were about to say butt weren’t you?”
No.
I entered through the snack area where Big Mac held the apple dishes and Ms. Cake held the desserts.
Boy, look at all that gooooood fooood! I swear I would just eat them like there’s no tomorrow!
“They sure do look good.” I said.
“Well, why don’t you try tasting one!” I heard Applebloom pop beside me.
“There are apple ciders, apple pies, apple fritters, and just fresh apples!” Applebloom bounced up and down in front of me with a huge smile on her face.
“Applebloom! I thought I told you to stop bugging customers like that! You might just scare them away!” Big Mac shouted.
Applebloom’s ears dropped and her expression grew sad. I chuckled at her cuteness and patted her head. “It’s okay, you did a good job attracting my attention. Let’s go and see what you got to sell.” I smiled.
Her sad smile quickly shifted as her eyes widened. “Of course!” She said excitedly.
You sure about apples? They seem a little too small for a hungry belly.
“I just don’t want a little filly to feel sad just because she did something wrong. As long as she learns next time.”
We walked our way through the room and towards Mac. “How’s the sale going?” I asked.
“It’s pretty darn good if you ask me! 25 ponies already bought my apple ciders and pies as soon as I opened!” Mac says with pride.
“Well, let’s hope you can get to sell mor-“ I was instantly cut off by screams heard behind me.
“Everypony run!” Somepony shouted as he came in from where me and Rainbow departed.
“Is Pinkie doing some sort of party cannon again? I’m sure that will hurt somepony one day.” Mac gave a sigh.
But, the feeling inside me was different….. Like something wasn’t right. More ponies came our way. I searched for Rainbow whether she headed this way too but… She wasn’t there. Her friends came through with panic and horror slapped unto their faces.
“No…. That’s not a cannon….” I took off like a bullet as I rushed to the scene.
“Dan! Where are you going!?” Mac shouted.
Hey, what the hell are you doing!?
I turned to the corner from which Rainbow went to. My eyes grew wider and my pupils shrunk. Celestia along with the Princess of the Moon and Love faced off against…… Trixie!? She levitated off the ground, more like someone grabbing her by the neck and hanging. She was surrounded by golden magic. On her neck was a fully jewelled necklace which was getting pulled from her neck by Celestia.
“Help me please!” Trixie pleaded as tears of fear flowed down her eye.
“Please bear with me Trixie! That amulet on your neck is sacred to my royal family!” Celestia used her magic to pry off the amulet, but the magic within it was just too much for her to handle.
“We shall give thee support, sister!” Luna leaned in and shot her dark magic towards the amulet.
“All of you stay back! This is a dangerous situation for anypony to handle!” Cadence warned us.
But, my eyes widened not because of the fight. It was because of the cyan mare that laid lifeless on the floor.
Is that….
“Rainbow….” I mumbled. My body started to shake from the fear of what happened to her.
Oh no… Don’t do this buddy.
“Rainbow!” I shouted as I ran through the Princesses and into the danger that had already laid upon Rainbow.
Turn back! What the hell are you doing!? Are you mad!?
Voices from the Princesses called out my name, but my legs had a mind of their own.
I was so close In to reaching Rainbow, but a certain force pulled, squeezed, and levitated me in the air. The golden aura connected to the amulet circled around me.
“Dan Jester! You’re an ignorant fool to run like that!” Cadence shouted as she continued to fire rays of magic to the amulet.
“Keep firing!” Celestia ordered.
See? What did I tell you?
I groaned in pain as I tried to break free from the golden magic’s grasp. “Dammit!”
You need to get rid of that amulet quick!
“No! Shit!” I tried wiggling but nothing worked. I looked around for any possibilities. I only had a matter of seconds before my entire body turns into mash potatoes.
I then saw a string of the golden magic heading towards Rainbow.
“No…..”
Dan….
“Don’t.”
Calm down Dan!
“Hurt her!”
My body slowly moved through the golden aura and my wings slowly extended from behind.
Dan? What are you planning to do now!?
“Just let me do what I’m gonna do…!” I said as I kept my focus on my strength. Finally, my legs and arms extended to the max and wings spread out wide. My eyes focused on the amulet that hanged from Trixie’s neck.
My wings started to flap in circular motions rapidly. I could feel the wind pressure building up and flowing through each fur on my wing. Before I knew it, my body began moving.
The strength that held me suddenly grew stronger, but I had an idea that could counteract it.
“Dan……” I heard Rainbow groan behind. I looked to see her with squinted eyes.
She just woke up from the knockout she took. I won’t argue with you this time pal. Finish this.
Small circular wind started to produce and I could feel myself pushing back even stronger.
I stiffened my wings and got into flying position, piercing through the golden grasp and quickly aiming onto the amulet. In one swift motion, I pulled the amulet off of Trixie’s neck and landed back first into a wall.
“Aaarghh!”
Just like that, the magic stopped. Trixie was freed and the Princesses stopped shooting. I slowly opened my eyes as I saw Rainbow above me.
“Dan…. Are you okay?” Tears fell off of her eye.
“Don’t worry Dashie, I’m fine.” I stood up and looked at Celestia. Instead of seeing her smile at my saves, she had….. a sad expression….. like she had lost something important… I looked at the amulet to see its crystals shatter into millions of pieces.
This doesn’t look good….
She walked to me where I handed her the amulet. She looked at me with tears and a worried look.
“Sister….” Luna walked to her sister.
My eyes widened. I then realized a small symbol of what looked to be a sun and an alicorn on the amulet.
“Princess…..” I said as I walked to her.
“Dan Jester….. Will you please give us time?” Celestia asked.
“Wait, what? What’s happening Princess? Did I do something wrong?” I asked back.
She didn’t say anything. With a flash, she disappeared…..
I was confused…. Not knowing what I did….. I might have just broke something important…
“Dan Jester, that amulet that my sister has…. It came from her very own mother…. It had the powers of our mother concealed into one.” Luna placed a hoof on my shoulder.
“Before my sister could take in charge as the Princess of Equestria, there was a rule that was promised to be embedded. Not in the rules of Equestria,, but the rules of our royal family. If one were to destroy it….I’m afraid to say…. That you are forced to be banished…..” Luna looked at me with worry and pity.
Cadence then walked to my side. “We warned you to stay back. If this was handled with magic and not with physical force, we would have calmed its magic outburst and reduce the damage done to other ponies…. I’m sorry.”
I just felt like…. I committed a crime. A crime that would cause problems to any Princess. I stayed there in deep thought as a flood of ponies stood behind the Princesses. Most of them had disgust, some had fear, the rest were angered.
“Please Dan Jester…. Give us time to think about it. We shall meet you tomorrow in front of Ponyville.” Luna flashed out.
Cadence turned around and apologized to everypony for the inconvenience and promises to hold it next night. Everypony departed and headed back to Ponyville. Rainbow was sent to Ponyville to get some medical attention.
“We will see you tomorrow, good night Dan Jester.” Cadence flashed out too.
I know I’m not to interfere here, but I think you should get some sleep too pal….
I didn’t answer…. I slowly carried myself to the train and thought of the consequences of getting ‘banished’.
I gritted my teeth. “What the hell do you mean…..”
I headed home and instantly face planted unto the bed. I sighed out of exhaustion and closed my eyes. I imagined a huge set of pictures that me and Rainbow took slowly get burnt to crisp.
My nightmarish imagination was quickly cut off by a set of knocks on my door. “Dan…. Are you in there?” Rainbow’s voice was worried.
I slowly got up and opened the door, revealing a bandaged Rainbow Dash. “Can we talk?”
I looked at her weakly. “Sure... Come on in.” I opened my door to let her in. We both sat on my bed for 2 straight minutes. Finally, she talked.
“I don’t know what happened.... What’s with this banishment thing? You saved me didn’t you? So, why did she do that?” Rainbow asked.
“I.... I don’t know...” I had no more engery to talk normally, my voice was rusted from all the thinking.
“Dan.... What are you saying? You can’t just let them do this to you!” Rainbow shouted in rage.
“Rainbow…. This is not a matter of whether I can get out of this or not…. That amulet belonged to the mother of Princess Celestia…. The rules were not clear but I cannot fight a rule that belongs in to the royal family…”
“Where are you going to go?” Rainbow grew even more worried.
“I don’t know how this banishment works. I’ve never seen Princess Celestia act so emotionally before either. This might be bad for me…” I got up and walked to my closet.
“I can come with you!” Rainbow stood up.
“No… You’re here for a reason Dash… If anything bad were to happen, who will be the element of loyalty to complete the elements of harmony?” I looked at her with a weak smile. “I did a mistake. That’s all that matters right now. My punishment will be settled tomorrow and there’s nothing I can do about it.”
“Why…. Why are you saying this all of a sudden…. I thought you never gave up…. I thought you would always find a way…. So why… Why are you acting like you’ve given up!?” Rainbow began to scream and cry. “This! This is not who I thought you were!” The cyan mare slapped my face and ran for the door.
Ouch….. that must be hard to take in. So what now Dan?..... Dan?
I rubbed my cheek with hatred, disgust, and sadness. I gritted my teeth and shut my eyes tight as I cried.
I slowly sat on my bed and grabbed my guitar. I turned to my window and watched as time continues to pass on. I strummed the strings and let out a sigh.

I imagined Rainbow slowly getting farther and farther no matter how much I ran. I turned around to see a pit of darkness, dark hooves suddenly popped out as it tried to get me. I turned again to see Rainbow’s expression turn from neutral to anger.

I tried screaming but nopony answered. Behind Rainbow were Celestia, Luna, and Cadence…. All sharing the same look Rainbow had. I continued screaming as I was dragged into the darkness. As I was getting dragged, I saw Rainbow say something that I couldn’t understand.

My entire strength then faded as I recognized those words…. “Goodbye”. Instantly, my strumming on the guitar stopped.

I dropped my guitar on the floor then fell fast asleep. Tears still flowing out of my eyes.

I opened my eyes to room full of white. Nothing but the color white to be seen for a mile. Knocks on what sound to be on a door started to echo throughout the room. Repetitive knocks then started to play around. The knocks grew louder and louder until I found it to be annoying and hurtful.
“Aaargh!!” I covered my ears as it became louder and louder.
“AAAGH!” I shouted as I sat up from my bed. I gasped for air as I tried to analyze what the hell just happened.
“Dan? Are you alright?” A voice came from the other side of my door. I sighed in exhaustion.
“Y-Yeah…. I’m fine.” I answered.
“Well, the Princesses are expecting you in front of Poynville right now. Is there some sort of matter that you have to take care of?” She asked.
“No, Madam. It’s alright… I’ll be therein about 5 minutes.” I replied.
That landlord still has a key to your door. That’s a bit creepy don’t you think?
“Dunno……” I said as I got up and took a quick bath.
Don’t be so down Dan, we might not know what the banishment meant but they just gonna send you to another place then just take that chance to rebuild yourself.
I sighed. “ That’s the problem…. I don’t know if I can rebuild myself. Most of my times spent here in Ponyville are like a filly to me. They are memories that I need to keep dearly…. I just can’t let them go like that.”
I know it is hard…… But how about staying positive and face the obstacles that awaits us?
“I’ll find out soon enough.”
I took a small bag where I placed my priced possessions. A watch given to me by my father, a notebook that held my very first picture as a filly and…. A picture of me carrying Rainbow on my back.
A knock on my door startled me as I closed my bag. “Umm, Dan? I think its more than 5 minutes by now…”
“I’m coming!” I said as I strapped the bag around me and opened the door. An old granny pony stood in front of me. She wore glasses and a grey scarf.
“Have my keys please.” I said as I locked my door and gave her the key.
“What? Why?” She asked.
“I…. I might be gone for quite a long time.” I lied.
“Oh, is that so? Well have a wonderful trip dearie.” She said as I walked out of the house and stopped at the entrance of Ponyville where Princess Celestia and Princess Luna stood.
“Dan Jester…. I am deeply sorry for what happened last night. It was a personal matter for me to take in.” Celestia bowed her head in apology.
“It’s…. It’s okay Princess…. I am deeply sorry myself.” I felt disgusted as I was mad at both Princesses. Not because of their disappearance last night, but because of the reason for my banishment.
“As part of the rules that runs in the Royal Family, we are forced to banish you.” Princess Luna reminded.
I looked at the ground as I was ready for the consequence.
“The only thing we can do as the ruler and co-ruler of Equestria is to limit your destinations. This means from now on, you are forced to leave Ponyville and Canterlot under any circumstances….” Celestia said.
I still kept my unwavering stare. They both looked at each other worriedly before looking back at me.
“I am very sorry for this Dan Jester. It must hurt for you to be doing this.” Celestia pitied.
“We have brought you a gift that will help you along the journey. Some bits good enough to buy a house and photo of you with us to keep the memory inside you.” Princess Luna handed me bits and a picture of me along with the Princesses and the elements of harmony.
“We shall be seeing you soon, Dan Jester. We are very sorry that it had to be you….” Princess Celestia gave way to the road of the wilderness.
“Is this how it’s going to end……?” I mumbled.
“Dan Jester…. Again, we apologize for ou-“
“I saved 2 ponies back there and this is how I was repaid!?” I snapped. The 2 Princesses didn’t show fear or anger, but worry.
“We noticed your accomplishments Dan, but you could have killed both yourself and Trixie.” Celestia said in embarrassment but tried to retort.
“Even then! I did something for those ponies that no other ponies can do! If this is how life as being under a Princess works then so be it! I’ll take my leave!” I extended my wings and flew past the two alicorns. My feelings filled with rage, anger, and disgust. For once in my life, I was betrayed by somebody who I thought would understand the meaning of being hero.
Dan, you need to calm down.
“How can I! Too many things are just happening and I can’t take it anymore!” I shouted as I flew faster and faster into the horizon.
Please Dan! Stop!
I ignored my thoughts and continued. Tears now flowing out of my eye.
At least look ahead of you before you start being so emotiona-!
I looked ahead and saw a huge rock coming closer to me. I slowed down my speed, enough for myself to dodge the rock. I cleared the tears in my eye and looked at my surroundings. It was nothing but filled with forests everywhere.
Look what you did! You let your emotions get to you and look what it did!
I gasped for air as my wings flapped slower than before. “What can I do…… It’s useless…” I said out loud.
For now, let’s find a place to stay. Wait, what is that over there…..
I turned my head towards the distance of the forest to see a statue of a unicorn wearing a robe. “That’s….. Manehatten.”
I agreed that everything was my fault. It was my fault for betraying everypony. It was my fault for breaking the rules…. And it was my fault for leaving Rainbow. But, I need to start forgetting these….. She has a husband to be with, lots of ponies who adore her, and she needs to focus on being the element of loyalty.

I sat on the backseat of the train with different other ponies who have finished from the party. “I’ll be okay… I’ll be okay…” I repeated in my head.
I’m here to take care of you…. Or tell what’s right or what’s wrong. Being the ethical one here.
I vaguely smiled. With a newfound determination, I looked out into Luna’s moon, bright stars giving light to the further galaxy. “I said it before and I’ll say it again. I won’t let something like this stop me from moving.”
The train began to move, the sound of the horn almost deafening as always. Canterlot slowly got out of vision in quick seconds before entering through the tunnels. I closed my eyes and sighed as the day was pretty much the most exhausting I’ve ever had in 3 years.
“Oh my, Dan! What are you doing here?” A familiar voice called out to me.
I opened my eyes and faced a lavender unicorn with straight purple bangs.
“Twilight…. Hey, I thought you were in the party?” I asked in confusion.
I thought she was supposed to be with her “Best friend” you know? Attending her special day and stuff is kinda the thing to do.
“Well I was just going to go back home to grab something until I noticed you here.” Twilight stated.
“Umm… Okay.” I said as I turned my head to look out the window.
“Hey…. Can I sit with you? I need to tell you something.” Twilight asked with a worried tone.
I looked at her with a confused look. “Sure…” I said.
I scooted to the left to give her enough room to sit and just enough for me to spread my legs.
“So, what did you want to ask?” I said as I continued to look through the window.
“Look, you might have had a heartbreak after watching Rainbow being next to another stallion. But please Dan…. You need to come back to Ponyville…” Twilight placed a hoof on my shoulder.
I turned to her with a staggering glare. “Why? Why do I need to come back?”
Twilight didn’t say anything for seconds but eventually spoke again. “When you first came in Ponyville, you were the one who lived up the place. You helped us when we were down and even got us to expirience true love with our special somepony. I was very mad at Princess Celestia for banishing you. I wanted to bring you back and reach out.... But, I can’t fight against my own mentor....” Twilight now overshadowed with shame and worry.
I sighed and placed my hoof on her shoulder. “It’s not your fault, Twilight. I really want to blame everything unto me…. Leaving Ponyville to save just one pony… I mean, what can I do? I’m going against the Princess of the Sun and the Princess of the Moon. Like hell I could’ve done anything.” I said plainly.
“But it’s not your fault! Being forced to forsake your own home is nothing but-But-buT!” She tried to find words to suit her sentence. I tapped my hoof on her shoulder. She looked at me with worryingly.
I smiled weakly at her. “I’ll....I’ll be fine Twilight. Don’t worry about me. Right now, I just need to get some sleep. I promise you that I will always be there, no matter what you need.” I said as I let go of her shoulder.
Sobs began to come from the Princess of Friendship. Tears came flowing down her eyes, frowning and oblivious to the amount of stares she was getting.
OOOOHHH SNAP! DAN JUST MADE ANOTHER MARE CRY!
“Why…?” She said softly.
“What?” I said confused.
“Why do you always act like nothing has happened!?” She snapped.
My eyes went wide from her sudden outburst. She was angry, sad, and disappointed. She gritted her teeth and looked at me fiercely.
“Just why!? Why do you always not do anything!?” She shouted, grabbing attention from most passengers. I was speechless, my mouth was wide open with no words coming out.
“I-“
“You what!? You couldn’t do anything!?? You’re letting something like this stop you from trying!? I thought you were better than this Dan! I thought you were there for everypony! I thought you were there for Rainbow Dash!!” She continued to unleash her rage.
I kept staring at her with a worried look. I then turned my gaze to the floor, unable to look at her anymore. The sobs came back to fill the air one more time.
Seconds passed and the only thing I could hear were her sobs and tears hitting the floor. It was an awkward moment. She awaited for my answer but nothing came out.
“I tried….” I finally said.
Twilight looked at me looking less angered and more curious. Tears still strolling down her cheek.
“I tried coming back to Ponyville countless of times but I was caught and sent back to Manehatten just as much…..” I said.
“But how? Why are you able to come in now?” She asked.
“Probably because they wanted to attend Rainbow’s wedding…. That is why I rendered the efforts and future tries to be pontless and useless….”
I looked at her, her lavender eyes meeting with my crimson red. “That is why the only way for me to move on is to forget.”
“You could have told us where you live! We could have helped you Dan, just as you helped us!”
I looked towards the window and sighed before looking back at her again. “I don’t want to rely on somepony else…”
“But why?” She looked at me with a worried look, her anger slowly fading.
“I….. I don’t know…. I always have that feeling that I could do everything myself. Relying on others would just slow me down the path.” I answered.
“But…. Getting help is just as normal as getting asked. Aren’t you that pony to help others?” She came to sit on my side.
“Yeah, and you’re right about that. I am a pony who helps others. I do this to make my own happiness from others. That is why I am happy as long as others are. Right now, Rainbow is having the time of her life, her marriage with….” Trying to figure out who the stallion she was with.
“Soarin….. His name is Soarin.” Twilight reminded me with an annoyed tone.
“As long as he makes her happy, I can be as well. That goes with the rest of you all.” I said before looking back into the night.
The train finally stopping in front of Ponyville train station.
“If that is really how you feel….. Then fine.” Twilight exits through the door but looks at me before getting out. “I want you to realize, Dan….. There are ponies who care about you.” Instantly she ran towards the big crystalline tree.
Tough love.
“Yeah….” I sighed.
The train moved again and was now headed towards Manehatten. This was nothing but an exhausting day and all I wanted to do was to get some rest. I don’t really care about the next day or the day after…. Because this day was by far the worst and will continue to ruin the rest of the days with these throbbing emotions.
Hours later, I made a stop at Manehatten station. I gave my ticket and quickly headed my way towards the hotel I stayed in.
“Back to square 1” I said as I went inside and walked towards my door. I stopped at a sign showing the room number ‘221’. I got my key out and opened it, revealing a room from which I left it. Tidy room with no dusts and organized bleongings. I noticed that my laundry came and my garbage can emptied.
Don’t you think its weird for ponies to come in your room to do these things? Won’t they like steal and stuff?
“We have cameras and owners. If one thing is missing I can complain and hopefully get my items back.” I sighed.
I dropped off my bag and quickly plummeted down unto my bed, breathing in the smell of my hair every time I slept on it. My consciousness quickly drifted off towards the darker places and found myself asleep.
The sky was bright and the sun was still high in the sky. Trees gave off their shadows to shield me from the brightness of the sun. I opened my map given to me by my parents.
“So….. Ponyville should be around this corner….” I said out loud as I followed the directions of the map.
Hey pal, long time no talk!
“Oh, hey. Didn’t know you would be up already.” I said.
You know, you can just use wings to fly instead of walk right? It saves you a lot of time and plus it gives off a good view of where you’re looking at.
“I was thinking of that but what if I hit something unexpected while holding the map in my face?”

“……..” I opened my wings and flew straight to the sky and got into a decent height for me to look down on, “I never made any assumptions by the way. Just saying is all.”

I flew for almost 30 minutes now and finally I can finally see the small village I was looking for. It was sandwiched in between two huge mountains. There were houses that looked very different from the rest such as one that resembles a cupcake, another resembling a huge tree in the middle of town.
While I was captivated by the view, a speedy rainbow trail passed, causing the intense wind to blow me away slightly.
What the hell?
I fixed my mane and made sure the map was still in grasp. I looked around to find the trail again only for it to disappear instantly.
Wha? How? Shouldn’t rainbows be easily seen!? OH MY GOD MY HEAD! I MEAN YOUR HEAD – I DON’t CARE ANYMORE!
I continued to look around in front but sighed as I give up on find it.
“Hey, where are you looking at?” A voice called out behind me.
I was startled by it and shifted into defensive mode with hooves out front. I turned around to see a cyan mare with rainbow colored mane staring at you her magenta eyes.
We continued to eye each other until she broke into laughter. Embarrassed, I pulled down my stance and blushed intensely.
“Hahahahaha! You should have seen the look on your face! Hahahaha!” She continued to laugh at my crappy reaction.
“Heheheh…” I mocked her laughing as you frowned.
“Whew, that was the best thing I’ve seen in days. Lit up my day instantly!” She swiped a tear of laughter.
“Anyway, I haven’t seen you around. Are you new here?” She asked.
“Ummm, yeah… I was going to move here due to some family problems back in my home town.” I answered.
“I see….” She turned around and inspected me like I was suspicious.
“I’m not from Clopton if your wondering.” I said.
“What? Oh no, I wasn’t looking at you if you were a criminal or a bad guy. I’m just assessing your wings.” She said as she touched my wings.
A slight tingly feeling surged through my body. Instantly, my wings were stone hard and a clear blush was plastered unto my face.
“Oh, sorry there buddy. I didn’t know you were this sensitive.” She laughed nervously with a blush on her face.
Before I calmed down my wings, she informed me something about joining a party at a place called ‘Sugarcube Corner’ for a welcoming party and instantly left right after.
“Wait….. I didn’t even get her name…” I said as my wings were back to normal again.

“Continue teasing and I’m seriously going to hang myself.” I deadpanned.

I went around town, scanning through the place and getting greeted by many different kind ponies. I then found my house which was kind of similar to the others, just the sides being blue with a few scribble designs on it.
I brought down my things and quickly got familiar with the dining area, toilet, and bedroom. It was rather small but good enough for 1 pony to live in.
Seems about right.
I went out of my home and tried to get even more familiar with the place only to be met by a jolly pink mare bouncing ecstatically. She introduced herself to being ‘Pinkie Pie’ or how I would put it as ‘High on candies mare’. She too said something about a party.
Hosting a party already for a new guy huh? That’s pretty bizarre even for our standards.
“Being placed in a society where no pony cares. That’s about the right way to explain ordinary life.”
I checked the time to see 6 pm, telling me that the party shouldn’t be there until 7 pm. I assumed this because it was the time that most parties were usually held at from experience in the past.
I attended the party and was greeted by a mix of unpleasant and startling surprise where everypony jumpscare you in a dark room, almost giving you a heart attack.
I met Twilight who was the head of the ‘Golden Oak Library’, Applejack who was the owner and attender to the apples of ‘Sweet Apple Acres’, Fluttershy who was supposedly the ‘Animal Expert’ of Ponyville and takes care of mostly any animal she sees in danger, Rarity who was the fashionista who took care of the trending fashion of Ponyville, Pinkie who was the center of attention when it comes to ‘FUN’ lastly was Rainbow Dah who was the boastful mare of the ‘Fastest Flyer in Euqestria’. Together, they make the elements of harmony who defeated discord and Nightmare Night.
I greeted myself and hoped to get friendly with them all. But, I somehow managed to look at Rainbow most of the time throughout the party. Did I think it was weird? Kinda…..

I sighed, “You’re right. I don’t want to be called a creep on my first day here. They spent all of this just to throw me a party.”
As the party continued, the only thing that I could think of was…. Rainbow Dash.
I woke up the next morning, the light shining down from the Celestial sun unto my eyes. I slowly opened them, getting blind for a few seconds before getting up. I stretched my body and went in the kitchen to grab some of my favorite cereal before sitting down on the couch watching whatever’s in the tv.
Good morning Dan, how’s your sleep?
I gulped down my cereal, “It’s alright. Nothing too crazy and nothing too boring.”
Well, since yesterday was kind of a….. Mess. I think you should go to Sapphire today.
I raised a brow while chewing on my next batch of cereal bowl. “Why?”

“I mean….. I got nothing to do today either. If I ever go back to Ponyville, I’m pretty sure I would get kicked out again. Sure, I’ll go.” I finished the last bowl of cereal and realized that I should’ve added milk.

“Mhmmm….” I got into my bathroom and started to shower my entire body with a brand new shampoo I bought days ago. The hot temperature now kicking in, slowly washing away the dirt in my body while giving me a soothing sensation.
I got to my bedroom and picked out a jacket to put some bits in when I need to buy something. I got a blue leather jacket to fit my fur. I placed about 30 bits on one of my pockets before leaving my room.
You lose that jacket, you will lose about 1//6 of your entire money….
“You don’t have to disclose my own money balance to me.” I said in annoyance.
I exited the hotel and walked down the sidewalk. Ponies were busy on their new phones while quick walking to their next work. Something tells me that this city is the most easiest place to lose things, but no reports of thievery crimes or burglary were seen on news for about 5 years now. The only big news that would show is when the elements of harmony would fight an evil doer, to most of Equestria, they are usually seen as the heroes. They cheer, imitate, and cosplay as them as if they were gonna be the next ‘hero’ to save the world.
I continued walking down the sidewalk and turned right to find a house painted in pink and blue on the sides. I chuckled a bit as I remembered drawing penises on it. I rang the bell and awaited for the door to be opened.
I wonder how he has been? It’s kinda ironic how a NEET was the first to talk to you. I think its probably because you are one too,, hahaha!
“Make fun of my life and I’m literally gonna blow my own head off.” I deadpanned.
“Coming!” The door opened revealing a dark blue stallion with a yellow mane wearing a pair of glasses. “Oh! Hey Dan! Long time no see I guess.” He smiled nervously.
“Hey there Sapphire. I’m here just to…. Hang out.” I said with a gentle smile.
“Really? Well that’s great! I’ve got something I want to confess anyway. Come right in!” He opened the door fully letting me in. The entire inner house was dark and messy with random cables on the floor, weird contraptions on the sofas, lots and lots of soda cans on the dining table, and the only light that could be seen was in his room.
“You still doing your tech stuff?” I asked.
“Well….. sorta. I kind of gave up building cuz no pony ever wants to buy them or use them.” He said as he made his way up to his room. I followed suit and looked at him confusingly. “You sell these stuff?” I asked.
“Yup! I won’t say it’s for business purposes but its there just to show ponies what ‘real’ technology is without the help of magic.” He the door to his room. Giant computer screens were screwed on the wall. All of those being operated by one single machine he built himself. He called it the ‘Electrogen Sapphire”.
I eyed him suspiciously, “No magic?”
“Yup, there are outlets that are connected to my solar panels which give it the amount of electrons to power my entire setup. Not really a special pony for that kind of matter but its how science works.” He said as he turned on computer.
I smiled at him as his cutie mark really lives up to his doing. A pixelized corkscrew surrounded by a gear. He is both a technician and an engineer.
Once the pc turned on, he turned to me with a worried expression. He then looked down with his mouth open and closing, trying to find words. He was clearly hiding something that he wanted to tell.
I looked at him as if something was wrong…. Which was definitely the case.
“Yo, Sapphire you okay?” I asked.
“Dan…. Remember what I told you before entering my house…. About the confession thing?” He said nervously.
“Yeah…..” I answered.
He sighed and looked at me straight in the eye. “Are you…. Really a pony?” He asked.
My eyes widened. Questions and assumptions came rushing through my head,, thinking of any possibilities to escape the situation.
…… What? Dan…. Is this…. True?
A full minute has passed by now and he still awaits for an answer. Thinking that I couldn’t just run away from my first friend and considering the fact that it’s a one on one talk. I sighed in defeat and was ready to talk.
“No…… I’m not.” I answered.
I was ready for him to feel awkward. I was ready for him to kick me out. I was ready for him to completely ignore me. But, none of that happened. He looked at me with a reassuring smile. A smile that I felt could finally understand me.
“Thanks for your honesty. Come here.” He gestured me to come to his side of the chair. I walked and turned my head to the tiny and giant monitors displayed on the walls. All of them showing statics. Sapphire clicked on one of the buttons. Suddenly, a huge picture of the human anatomy with details of their behavior, emotions, functions, and strengths.
“How do you…. Know this?”
“I did my research on you ever since you came here. The way you talked, moved, and interacted were similar to that of a pony. When I say similar, I look at you as a different pony. When I came across humans, I noticed that your activities, emotions, and actions corresponded to that. They were the same no matter how you look at it.”
I looked at him as he continued to talk about human body.
Hours have passed and we both shared laughers, jokes, and information on Earth.
“Hahahaha! Really! Your friend said that? Hahahaha!” Sapphire continued to laugh at the joke.
That shits hilarious! Oooohhooo! Damn,, should have been there when you were still a human! Those are golden!
My laughing faded as I wiped off a tear. “Whew, that was one of the funniest moment my friend ever did.”
“That felt really good. Having a good laugh every once in a while.” Sapphire wiped of a tear as well.
I looked at the time to find us talking for about 5 hours from 7. I waved my goodbyes, but before leaving, I noticed a few blueprints of a robotic-like structure. But I didn’t delve too deep into it.

“I’ll see….. Maybe do some lone activity.”
Alright then, seems reasonable.
“What does?”
I mean, now that I know that you are a human, It’s kinda weird.
“I don’t even know how you entered my head or what ever that dude did to let you in. I thought you were a part of my brain that knows everything about me?”
Not really, Like I said before,, I’m just there to keep you company. You keep saying that I am part of your mind. You’re kinda correct there but I don’t pierce your brain and gather intel about you. I am but a voice who can think the same as you.

Being the boring guy I am, I decided to walk to the malls to use my bits on. Considering the time as well, It was 2 pm and had enough time to write the vocal songs and send them to my publisher. Before reaching to the mall, a huge group of ponies were gathered in front of a tv shop. Being the curious guy I am, I tried to squeeze my way through to see the interesting broadcast channel.
“Breaking news” It read as the sound of a typical news song played. Finally, an orange mare with a blonde mane came into screen holding pieces of reports.
“Breaking news! Ponyville is under attack by an unknown being. The Elements of Harmony are trying to seize this otherworldly creature before it corrupts the whole of Equestria. This creature goes by the name of “Darkness”, it has a body similar to that of a dragon with big claws and wings, all covered in black. It stands 7 ft tall and his presence is said to be capable of overthroning Nightmare Night’s. Ponies across Ponyville has gladly evacuated from the scene and royal guards are on their way to pursue this creature. More reports will be coming soon later but for now, here are the clips of the raging battle.”
A clip of the elements of harmony standing in front of the black being played. All of them having their necklaces and crown. The clip was cut short when Twilight shot her purple magic towards it. Gasps from the crowd were heard and gossips were made if the elements of harmony could defeat this.
My eyes widened at the horror that fell before me. I quickly squeezed through the crowds and ran to my hotel.
Dan! Please calm down! Let the elements of harmony take care of this! You’ll just get yourself killed!
“There is something you need to understand about me.” I quickly opened my door and slid in my room.
What!? What are you saying Dan! You’re not making any sense at all!
“Before I entered through the realm of Equestria, I was a hired assassin. Unlike the human society we saw in Sapphire’s house, my society contains what you call factions. I was part of a faction named Nemesis. Ultimately, my skills proved to be vital in assassination missions and that’s the role I got.”
I opened my drawers, cabinets, and tiny boxes to find what I needed.
“Dammit where is it!” I shouted trying to rummaging through my things.
What are you trying to find?
“There are these injections that had a mutagen sample of my past self.” I removed all my clothing in my closet.
Why? Why do you need it?
“Because! That thing they are fighting came from my world! It’s a genetically modified creature created by another faction in my world. I don’t know how it got here, but that thing will do anything in its power to destroy anything it sees.” I went to my living in a quick hurry, knocking down books and lamps on my there.
But this place has magic! Something that your human society doesn’t have!
“That may be true…. But, if the only thing that element of harmony can do is stone things, then there are much more to come. During my testing day, I was using weapons that had radiation blasts as its element. Something like that could damage and corrode anything in an instant. If my hypothesis is proven to be correct, that thing is built to withstand any types of blast.” I opened the lower drawers and rummaged through once more.
But, what can that mutagen do that magic can’t?
“It gives powers. Not something as great as magic, but it will increase all senses known to man including its human strength. Not only will it give me precision, but it should be enough to knock that thing out.”
…….. You become weirder as years go by.
“You just thought of that now?” I went to my bathroom and continued my search from there.
After several minutes of searching, there was no sign of it anywhere. I tried to catch my breath as I looked at the mess I’ve made to my room. “Dammit….. Where the hell did I put it?” I shouted in frustration.
Dan…. Please calm down… I haven’t seen you so frustrated before. It’s kinda scaring me.
I sighed and began to think of the next move.
“I….I’m gonna go.” I said as I ran through my door and quickly got into the train.
Are you crazy!? Right now your just a normal pegasus!
“I know that! But I have to do something about it! Only I know its weakpoints. If I get there, I might just be able to warn them for his attacks!” I stopped in front of a long line. Many ponies looking aggravated at the long line, it hasn’t moved for about 30 minutes.
“Dammit, I’ll just take a shortcut.” I extended my wings and flew to the sky. I followed the path towards Ponyville with quick hurry. I sky rocketed through clouds with a blue trail being left behind.
You know! The more you do this kind of stuff! The more I actually feel like staying home for once!
I soared through the sky, my wings not giving up just yet. The more I focused, the faster my speed became.
Finally in what felt like hours of flying, I spotted smoke in the distance along with a big blazing fire on one of the houses. Beams of purple magic soared through the sky, almost hitting me in the process. I landed somewhere at the side of a house. I peaked to the side to see the 6 elements trying desperately to fight off the dark being. But, none of their attacks worked.
“Twilight! Keep shooting! I will try to disable it with my sonic rainboom!” Rainbow shouted as she flew straight up to the sky.
“I’ll try to hold him! AJ, try to lasso him!” Twilight continued shooting purple beams, but the creature didn’t budge.
“On it!” AJ shouted as she spun her lasso around him. The beast roared and instantly ripped the rope. “Darn it! Just how strong is that thing! I didn’t even have the chance to grab him!”
Rarity and Fluttershy were both scared at the creature, cowering behind a basket full of random fruits. Pinkie on the other hand shot cupcakes and cakes with her party cannon.
Nothing was affecting it.
A sharp sound pierced through the sky, Rainbow was already in the position to do a solid sonic rainboom. “Twilight! Keep him still with your magic!” She shouted.
“I’m trying!” Twilight casted a spell that caged the creature. The creature grabbed the sides of the cell and opened it wide like it was nothing. “How…. How is he so strong?” Twilight said.
I looked up to see Rainbow slowly shifting into arrow, she was so close to doing a sonic rainboom. But, the creature got to her first as it raised its hand. Blue light emitted from its palm.
“Oh no….” I said.
Dan What are you- Dan!
I quickly fly up towards Rainbow as fast as I could. I can feel everpony’s glare, Twilight even shouted my name…. But that didn’t matter now.
“C’mon, reach it! Reach it!” I shouted as I pushed and grabbed Rainbow out of the way, just in time for the blue laser beam to pass.
I quickly regained balance and flew her towards the rest of the group.
“Wha- Dan? What are you doing here?” Twilight asked with confusion.
I looked at everypone with worry. “I need all of you to leave as fast as you can!”
“What in tarnation is that supposed to mean!? Do you just want us to leave our home like that?” AJ scowled, stepping closer to me.
I looked behind to see the creature getting ready to fire. The blue beam fired again and this time it was faster. My eyes widened and my body moved on its own, blocking the beam with my hooves. When the beam disappeared, my body fell limp. But my legs wouldn’t say die.
“Dan!” The group shouted behind me.
I gritted my teeth and stared at the black creature. “You really think something like that would stop me?” I groaned as I tried to fix myself up.
“You think too highly of yourself, assassin. Now die.” It spoke with a low voice.
I stared at it intently, watching him get ready to fire another beam. I closed my eyes shut as I got ready for another beam.
Dan! Move! You’re going to get hit again!
“I won’t let something like this end Equestria. It was because of me that he came. It was because of me that everpony here is fighting. It was because of me that Ponyville is destroyed!” I shouted.
“But, I just can’t sit back and watch of my enemies demolish this place.” I opened my eyes wide and I lifted my hooves into another blocking formation. My eyes then turned sharp as my teeth gritted against each other. “I will kill you all!”
“Useless.” It said as it shot another blue beam. I tensed my body up as I got ready block it again. I closed my eyes and waited.
And waited.
And waited.
But nothing happened. I slowly opened my eyes to see the creature get thrown away into the blazing houses.
I looked the left and saw a robotic armor. The design kind of reminded me of a robot in a movie I couldn’t remember.
“Sorry I’m late! Didn’t know you would be this fast!” A familiar voice was automated as the robot turned to look at me.
Suddenly, the face of the robot opened to reveal a smirking Sapphire. My eyes widened in shock.
“Why are you here?” I asked.
“Huh? Isn’t a friend supposed to look out for a friend in need?” He continued to smirk.
I began to smirk myself. It was as if this entire thing came out of a well published superhero comic.
The girls behind me were confused to what’s going on. But I didn’t mind them, as long as they don’t get touched by that thing.
“Here, I might’ve thought you need this.” He passed me an injection with a purple liquid inside labeled ‘Mutagen 333’.
“How’d you get this?” I eyed him suspiciously.
“Well, I kind of sorta dug through your house for some research and found that. Oh right, you might need this as well.” He passed me an umbrella. But it wasn’t any ordinary umbrella, it was an X768.
I looked at him like he would have more but a roar echoed throughout the streets.
“There’s no time to talk. Right now, we have a problem in our hooves.” He said as the robotic face came back.
“Heh, seems like you’re right about that Let’s take care of this small fry. Together.” I said.
Sapphire turned to me and nodded. I took out the syringe and stuck it to my shoulder. I pressed down unto the top, making the fluids enter my body. immediately, I could feel myself getting lighter and my vision getting blurry.
The monster came out from the house and looked at us.
I grabbed my umbrella off the ground, somehow sticking to my hooves as I picked it up. I looked straight dead center at the monster and smirked.
