Long before Celestia and her sister Luna, long before equestria was made and long before star swirl the bearded, too mighty creatures were born and you will bear witness to a war that no pony can remember nor yak, changing, or other species.
Long ago before life in Equestria, there were too creatures the first living creatures in the galaxy or anywhere, one of pure light the other of pure darkness. A war that scarred the world and brought all species together in hopes to fend off the darkness, cold, and worse than death. Join in this story as you will learn of the forgotten war that neither Celestia nor Luna can comprehend and has taken millions upon millions of lives.
Long ago when there was nothing but the darkness, the cold, and nothingness it was silent no life all darkness and silence. Suddenly a sudden boom and explosion brought forth light and life into the darkness among the planets and galaxies's the very first two beings were born, the very first living beings born from the big bang. One had the skin of magma rocks, and veins of lava, horns that are orange, and a living volcano on his back, his hair literally a fire. The second one had black rocks and glowing veins glowing purple full of shadows and cold, six long tentacles with horns or black, his hair black fire with a hue of purple and burns like fire but stings like ice.
Both brothers open their eyes the brother of light his eyes glowed like the sun and was warm and loving, the other's eyes were all black his pupils glow purple cold and darkness. Over eons and eons they watched the galaxies grow and thrive they protected a planet called the earth from threats and destruction. Millions upon millions of years have passed and the two brothers' powers reach limits beyond belief, they notice the earth has given birth to living creatures. Joy and happiness overwhelm the brothers they decided to give the planet and its inhabitants gifts from each brother.
The brother of light made a ball of fire and light for the life forms to have warmth and light. The brother of darkness made a rock that will watch the life forms and stars for beauty and creativity. soon the two brothers made their homes in their creations, the brother of light now called Lord Light made a city of gold in the sun-filled with creatures of fire, magma, and light with him as there king. The brother of darkness known as Lord darkness made a kingdom of darkness his subjects make of stone, darkness, and shadows as there all mighty king. Both the brothers raise and set the moon and sun over the land as they watch the life forms play and have fun.
Soon the brothers decided to visit the planet and be friends with the life forms to be at peace. Once the brothers got on earth they were massive creatures taller than the mountains, higher then the clouds to the ponies, yaks, griffons, hippogriffs, dragons, and others they were fleas compared to there size. At first, the life forms were terrified of these creatures and ran in terror but soon the brothers explained to them that they come in peace and friendship, soon all creatures were in peace with the brothers, as the brothers protect their world what they didn't know was that a war of unmeasured horror was over the horizon and it would scar the world for eternity.
Thousands of years of the life forms and brothers peace even Lord Darkness married a unicorn who he turned into a creature that is like him in a way and she became Mistress Darkness who has a magical singing voice and ability to use her musical instruments and singing voice to make all do what she says those who hear her voice or music. A beautiful young creature hair like crimson fire, busom so fair, her skin violet purple, and her eyes black her pupils glow purple, and her veins turned black.
Many many years have past and Lord Darkness became angry and jealous of his brother, how every creature loved his brother more than him how his sun makes them have fun and laughter and while they slept during his precious night and stars. His two hearts grew heavy and filled with hatred soon he started one of Equestria's most horrible and longest war.
One beautiful day the sky became clouded, the sun covered and the moon rose as the stars fallen from the heavens crash into the ground, buildings, and the seas. The stars open and a black liquid emerges alive and hungry for blood. The blobs of darkness ripped apart any living creature they see and some combined with trees, stone, buildings, and other things transforming them into monstrous creatures. Forests turned into skeletal creatures called hunters that are massive and virtually unbeatable, who spawn creatures called creepers. These creepers have four eyes that can see in the dark, see heat, and see to ten miles away, have super hearing and super smell. Six legs to run like the wind, black fur to blend in the night, and have a scorpion tail to stun prey to take them to the creeper and have for tentacles on there backs to grab there prey and drag them away. Among many creatures horrid and deadly even magic or weapons could not harm these beasts nor could cut their rock-like skin, Lord Light was shocked and horrified to see what his brother is doing.
Millions dead ripped apart, eaten, and worse turned into one of those creatures is worse than death itself. Ponies, yaks, griffons, and all other species run for there live friends slaughtered, families were torn from each other, and so much innocent blood lay on the ground. All these creatures stone warriors, to hunters and creepers, grave eaters, and sadly the living creatures were not spared. Lord Light pleaded to his brother to stop this end this madness and bloodshed, but Lord Darkness refused and vowed that he will beat his brother and slaughter all the ponies who ignored his beautiful night and make the world his, a world of eternal night and bloodshed.
Lord Light with tears but hope that if he beats his brother that he will see the error of his ways and stop all this, so he joins the living creatures that were left and helps them by crafting the life forms weapons of light allowing them to harm and defeat the creatures of darkness. The light weapons are powerful in their own way able to cut the skin of darkness creatures turning their dead bodies to stone, able to come in many forms from swords, to scythes, and many others. Sadly the life forms still had trouble defending themselves against the army of darkness. Lives lost each day, the death far from the list to happen to you even some have taken their own lives so that they will not harm there loved ones. Lord Light told his army that the black liquid is his brother's black blood, Lord Darkness's blood is a living thing allowing it to absorb and make itself a creature called a darkness minion a true killing machine hungry for blood and all life forms that are not under lord darkness's rule. They are loyal and deadly and only respond to one creature there master and maker, Mistress Darkness turning armies against each other with her voice and musical notes they were no threat to her. This war each and every year seems more and more hopeless, as this war has taken so long that no one can remember how long it has gone but they know one thing this war is almost one-sided.
The blood of innocents paint the grounds of the earth, Equestria, and all kingdoms scared by a war that seems hopeless and one-sided. Millions upon millions of unmarked graves and bodies rotted or turned into darkness minions, this war became a massacre. Lord Darkness's army marches destroying all who dare to go against them, Lord lights hearts heavy with sadness and grief that the creatures he and his brother swore to protect now being slaughtered by his brother's hand.
Lord Lights army small in numbers has had some wins like the battle of the clouds, Ghastly last stand against the shadow eels. Even after those small battles, the life forms left are in hand full of hundreds, This forsaken war has to end the planet choking on blood, the plants dying, the earth freezing and so are its inhabitants with little food and water left after lord darkness turned the crops and streams into creatures of destruction and horror. Lord Darkness and Mistress darkness gave birth to a child an alicorn named Prince Darkness but strange enough there spawn does not wish to kill or harm just to be peaceful soon they have to get rid of there own son.
Lord Light tired of this war gathered all remaining troops and decided to make one final strike to the castle of shadows. All life forms from the dragon, to pony, to yaks and griffins, and all other remaining creatures that were left marching to the final battle Lord light dressed in his helmet of shine, his shield of the sun, and the most powerful item in all of Equestria, the sword of light but the sword has a brother the sword of darkness there both equally powerful but destructive on there owns or when they strike each other.
The army of light reached the castle of shadows but the army of darkness was waiting for them and soon it became a clash of darkness and light, good and evil, sun and the moon. The two armies fight in the smoke of roars, screams, blood splatter, and bodies laying on the ground. Soon lord light and darkness faced each other there weapons at hand and armor ready for a final battle as they charge each other the ground shakes of a thousand earthquakes and when their swords of light and darkness clash a massive boom blew back all forces as the two brothers sword fight in an epic battle for the fate of this world and future generations, Lord Light knew that if he lost all life will perish and darkness and death shall rule the land for all eternity and that is something that he cannot allow.
Lord Light pinned his brother and pleaded to him one last time to surrender and stop this war we can go back to the way things were before, But with hate, Lord Darkness roared that he will never stop till all life forms who love his precious light will die and his night shall eternally rule. Lord Darkness throws Lord light off him and is ready to charge for a blow and with tears in his eyes lord light clapped both hands together and pulls them apart making a spear of light and with a mighty throw he stabbed one of his own brother's heart and Lord darkness's body falls apart making him a spirit of his former self. With Lord darkness power in half Lord light cursed his brother to be trapped in his own creation for all eternity, and as soon as the curse was made the moon shook and cracked as it opened and light from inside shined upon Lord Darkness and he was lifted into the sky growing closer and closer to the moon and with a final breath he said this with a mighty roar of anger and low booming voice,
"I shall return pests of this world and when I do I shall claim my body and restore my power to its all-mighty glory and when I do I shall finish what I started and whipping you all out and making this a realm of darkness and shadows!".
With what Lord Darkness said the moon sealed trapping its creator inside for all eternity, the moon finally set and the clouds vanish as the sun finally returned shining on the dark minions and shadow creatures skin as they turn to statutes dead in there tracks all living creatures cheered, roared, and celebrated that this nightmare has finally ended and the sun is back thanking Lord Light for helping and protecting them but then they hear the musical instrument and they see Mistress Darkness under a cloud keeping her protected by the sun crying and filled with hatred and anger.
With anger, she does a forbidden curse that is powerful and she said that for what he did to her husband he shall be cursed to spend the rest of his days in the sun never to set foot on the earth again, for if he did the earth and those he loves on it and swore to protect would burn in an inferno. After that she vanished, with sadness in his heart he says his goodbyes and tells them that he will still watch over this world keeping it safe, and with that, he goes to the sun in his kingdom of light. Lord light watches over the earth and the moon keeping the balance of light and darkness saddened that he can never return to visit his friends but he keeps his promise to make sure that the earth will be safe.
Some years after the war the land of which the battle took place was blackened and unable to grow life turned to a graveyard of dead bodies and statues of horrific beasts a scar on the land that no creature should go back too. With Lord Darkness threat the creatures were scared that he would cause great fear in the future so the species agreed to erase all items of this war in hopes that the generations to come will not fear him nor be scared of what happened, soon it became the darkness war the forgotten war. All banners and weapons destroyed all but this story.
To you dear reader, you hold and have read the story of the war Equestria has forgotten a war that lasted longer than any other war in history and was way more bloody and death to many to count. So many bodies have been buried, eaten, slaughtered, ripped apart, or worse. The tears of those who have fallen and the innocent bloodshed, you hold their story, their death, their final fight, and final win in a battle that was a living nightmare no pony could wake up from. So please remember them as they were brave, remember them as friends, remember them for they have made Equestria peaceful and full of life.
