...to change the fate of two worlds. Both of great magic, yet so different at their cores.

Two worlds, one spell gone wrong, but not from the source that most would think. A simple artifact of great power pulling a certain pony across the planes to another world. One similar to her own yet also different in so many ways.

(this is a Fairy Tail crossover for those who don't know. And it will take place before the time skip, but after a certain point. We'll say probably a bit after the whole Edolas thing but a while before the S-Class examinations, after all, who says there cant be some fun adventures that the manga never showed us)

The land of Equestria. A world of wondrous magic and a near utopian paradise. Sure it has its occasional power hungry villain, con pony, or mischievous god like being of chaos looking to cause a little mayhem, but all in all it’s a pretty peaceful place. The two princesses rule over the land, bringing day and night. It is during the late afternoon, just as Princess Luna dots the sky with the first star of the evening, that we see a lavender unicorn walking through the center square of Ponyville, once again going over her meticulous check list to make sure she had completed all main tasks for her day. She smiled as she checked off the final thing, making sure that she had sent her weekly friendship report to Princess Celestia.

Twilight Sparkle smiled as she saw the wisp of smoke and green flame fly off to Canterlot, humming to herself as she headed back to her home. All of a sudden she heard the sound of something coming closer at incredible speeds. She turned towards the sound and was instantly blinded by a rainbow and cyan blur crashing into her. She groaned and looked up, the Pegasus in question being Rainbow Dash , one of Twilight’s best friends and fellow Element of Harmony. “Uh Heheh, sorry about that Twilight. Guess I caught a bad wind current there.” She said with a guilty smile and pulled her friend up.

Twilight brushed herself off, feeling a slight hint of déjà vu as this had been how the two mares had first met, though that day included a mud puddle, which thankfully was not there this time. “It’s alright Rainbow Dash. I was just on my way home for the evening.” She said with a smile and looked at her friend. Rainbow gave a smile and nod.

“Oh hey before you go, think you could give me your opinion on a new trick I’m working on?” Rainbow said with her usual enthusiastic and overconfident smirk.

Twilight blinked and looked at her. The prismatic Pegasus was always planning new tricks to try and impress ponies as well as the Wonderbolts. Though more often then anypony would like, said tricks often ended up with Rainbow crashing into a tree, the ground, a building, or like just a few minutes ago, another pony. Twilight then shrugged. “Why not. I’ve got a few minutes to spare before I need to check the library logs.”

Rainbow smiled broadly and prepped to fly up. “You won’t regret it. I’m practicing on a way to do a sonic rainboom that changes the clouds to rainbow colored for a bit. Then add a little buccaneer blaze and cloud breaking to it and you got yourself rainbow fireworks.” She said, explaining to her friend the details of the trick before shooting up into the air, gaining altitude to perform the legendary technique.

Twilight smiled at her friend as she took off into the air, patiently awaiting whether the trick would work and cause a spectacle like planned, or cause her friend to go flying out of control into the nearest foliage once again. She watched as Rainbow broke through the cone of air, the large explosion of color spanning out and actually changing the clouds like intended. Twilight smiled as she felt the wave of energy wash over her, but then felt something strange. She felt her magic begin to react inside her and around her, as well as hearing what sounded like a whisper to her. “Open the gate to the Unicorn. Monoceros!” Twilight gasped as she felt a magical surge surrounding her, her body becoming lighter as she felt the ground beneath her hooves fall away. She tried to give a scream but was silenced as she fell into a dark void.

Lucy Heartfilia sighed as she and her friends had come back from another mission. While the initial goal of the mission had been accomplished, the aftermath caused by Natsu’s reckless attacks had been near cataclysmic once again. She shook her head, smiling softly as they once again re-entered the town of Magnolia, home of their friends and guild. The infamous Fairy Tail. She smiled as she saw the large guild building in the distance, having a few small flashbacks about her various adventures with them before something out of the corner of her eye drew her attention. It was one of the local magic shops around the city, and there in the window case was a velvet box with a silver key laid on it. Now to most passersby they would think nothing of it, but to a trained Stellar Spirit mage like Lucy, she immediately knew it to be a gate key. She walked over to the window, leaving Natsu and Gray to head off back to the guild for more competitions between the two, Happy following behind them carrying a pile of clothes as Gray had once again stripped his clothes without people even noticing until it was done.

She walked up to the store window, looking down at the key. On the head of the key was a white inlay with a deep azure blue horse head on it, but on the horse’s head was a long horn. Her eyes sparkled as she recognized it. Monoceros, the key of the Unicorn. While it wasn’t one of the twelve ecliptic zodiac keys, Monoceros was still a very rare key. As most stellar spirit mages knew, even among the spirits, unicorns were a scarce breed. She smiled happily and walked into the store, eager to purchase the key. Several minutes later, after haggling with the sales clerk to try and lower the exorbitant price, she came out with a slight smile, despite the hefty sum of jewels she had to pay for it. But she decided it was worth it for the rare key.

After checking back in with the guild, giving Mirajane the letter from the client saying the job was complete, she could hardly contain herself. “Oh who can wait. Alright let’s see my new Spirit.” She smiled, not having noticed the unicorn head on the key go from azure blue to a lavender color. She held the key out, focusing her magic on it. “I am one who connects a road to the Stellar Spirit world. Thou shalt respond to the calling and pass through the gate.” A keyhole appeared and expanded out to a magic seal, opening the doorway between realms. “Open a gate to the Unicorn. Monoceros!” She said, releasing the energy as the seal expanded and a bright flash of magic occurred, blinding a few of the people nearby. Lucy had turned her head away for a moment before turning back, her eyes widening a bit at the spirit that appeared before her. A large, somewhat cartoonish looking horse with lavender fur, dark violet hair with a pink streak in it and a tail with matching pattern, the signature unicorn horn, as well as a strange mark on both sides of it’s flanks.

Twilight groaned as she felt her body become stable once more. She slowly stood up, feeling her magic settle as she slowly opened her eyes. Though a part of her wished she hadn’t as she now found herself surrounded by large creatures covered in clothes, well except for one nearby, that had little hair on the bodies except for their heads. She blinked and looked around, panicking slightly as she tried to get her bearings. “W-Where in Equestria am I?!” Her vocal outburst caused one of the stange bipeds to walk towards her, reaching out.

Her instinct kicked in and she immediately began to ready a teleport, only to stop when she realized she had no idea where she was, and a teleport would not have been the safest idea as she could end up someplace worse. She stopped as she looked towards the one coming towards her. It’s eyes were brown with a blond mane, wearing strange clothes with a set of keys on it’s hips. She eyed the mysterious creature, judging by it’s physical form that it was female and spoke. “um. My name is Twilight Sparkle.”

The blond creature smiled and spoke to her, shocking Twilight with the fact that it could speak as well. “My name is Lucy. So then, shall we set up the contract?” She said, holding up a note pad and pen.

Twilight blinked at this, still a bit surprised that the female creature could talk. “Contract? What contract?” She said, unsure of what exactly was happening, using a great deal of her willpower to remain calm in this unnatural situation.

Lucy blinked as the unicorn questioned about what a contract was. “The contract between us of course. Aren’t all Stellar Spirits familiar with the rules of a contract when summoned?”

Twilight blinked and looked at Lucy. “Stellar Spirit? I’m not sure what that is but I can tell you I’m not one. I was just watching my friend perform a stunt when I felt a strong magic pull me here.” At this Lucy, as well as several other of the creatures around looked visibly disturbed. If the creature Lucy had summoned wasn’t a Stellar Spirit…..Then what in the name of the heavens above was it?

Welcome! To Fairy Tail!

After a few more minutes of awkward silence, Twilight was the first to speak up. “Um, if I might ask, what are you creatures exactly? I’ve never seen anypony like you before.” By now she had calmed herself enough to realize that whatever these creatures were, they weren’t immediately intent on attacking her. At this Natsu leaned over one of the tables and looked at Twilight. “We’re humans of course. Don’t they have humans in wherever you’re from.” He said, Happy climbing on top of his head. Lucy rolled her eyes. “Weren’t you listening Natsu? She just said she’s never seen beings like us before.” She said, turning back to Twilight. “So if you’re not from the Celestial Spirit world, where are you from?” She asked, inspecting the lavender unicorn in front of her.

Twilight blinked at the red headed…human…as it had called them, and then turned back to the one called Lucy. “Well before I was brought here, I was in Ponyville. A town in the land of Equestria.” She said, her mind switching over to lecture mode. “In Equestria, there are three races of ponies that inhabit the land, Unicorns like myself, the Pegasi that live in the sky, as well as a few that live on the ground, and Earth ponies that work the land. Our world is ruled over by the two alicorn princesses, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Who raise the sun and moon respectively each day.” At this Natsu laughed. “Awesome! Two horses that can lift the sun and moon?” He chuckled and looked at her. He remembered how he helped Erza launch a spear at the moon once. Though it ended up being this big dome over the island instead of the actual moon.

Twilight blinked at him. “Well the term is Alicorns. And yes they do raise the sun and moon. I suppose you humans have someone who does that for your world as well?” At this Lucy shook her head. "Here the sun and moon move on their own." At this the lavender unicorn looked visibly disturbed since she calmed down. "No one to move the sun and moon? But how do they move on their own?" Lucy smiled and explained how the sun, moon, as well as the other planets in their system moved due to the intense gravitational pull of the sun, and that it was in fact the earth moving around the sun rather than the other way around. At this Twilight's mind raced, but the next question she had made itself dominant in her mind. "Where exactly am I?"

At the interruption Lucy stopped. "well you are in the land of Fiore, in the city of Magnolia. This is the Mage guild called Fairy Tail." she smiled, holding up her hand with the guild insignia on it. Twilight looked at the mark and noticed that several others had the mark easily visible, while others were partially obscured or possibly completely hidden by clothing. Her mind then focused in on the word that piqued the most interest. "Mage guild? As in people who can perform magic?" she said, now a bit excited. At this, the one who was partially naked spoke up. "yeah, just about all of us here can use some form or another of magic. Aside from the children or the normal citizens of the city." Lucy rolled her eyes. "Gray your clothes." the one now identified as gray gave a startled shout, as if he didn't even realize he had become uncovered. Twilight blinked at this. "so what kinds of magic are there?"

Natsu smiled and slammed his fists together, a large red circle with the head of a dragon in the design. "my magic is known as dragon slayer magic. I'm the fire dragon slayer." at this twilight had a slight look of protectiveness, thinking to never let this human near spike. Natsu then leaned back. "though it's just called that because we were taught our magic from dragons. There's two other dragon slayers in fairy tail. Wendy and Gajeel." he pointed over to a little girl with a white cat and a larger man with a black one. "Do all dragon slayers have a cat for a pet?" Twilight asked. Natsu blinked at her. "Happy isn't a pet. He's my partner." at this the little blue cat raised a paw. "aye!" twilight jumped a bit. "it can speak? Fascinating." happy smiled. "hey Natsu, is fascinating a good thing?" Natsu looked up. "I think it was a compliment." he said with a smile. Twilight turned back to Lucy. "so what other kinds of magic can be used?" Lucy smiled. "Gray over there uses ice magic." at this, Gray walked over, clothed Once again. He put a fist on top of an open hand, a symbol of a snowflake appearing. "ice make. Statue!" he said, a large piece of ice appearing out of the ground, it rising and shaping into a copy of twilight. The unicorn jumped back at the sudden appearance of the ice even though it was quite warm in the room.

All of the people still watching chuckled at her reaction while many others had gone back to chatting and drinking once they realized the unicorn wasn't a threat. Twilight poked at the statue with a hoof then turned to Lucy. "what kind of magic is yours? You mentioned something about Stellar Spirits before." Lucy smiled and nodded, holding up a ring of keys, some silver and some gold. "I'm what's known as a Stellar mage. We use artifacts known as gate keys to summon Powerful spirits from the Celestial Spirit realm. Each key corresponds to a constellation in the sky. Taurus the bull, cancer the crab, as well as non-zodiac constellations like the lyre, the cross, and Ursa Major." at the mention of the words Ursa Major, Twilight gasped in fear and dove under the nearest table. At this act all o the fairy tail members blinked and looked at her. Natsu leaned upside down and looked under the table at her. "what's up?" he said, tilting his head to the side. Twilight shivered and looked up. "I-In Equestria....both Ursa Major and Ursa Minor are massive creatures capable of great destruction."

At this Lucy blinked and knelt down, looking at twilight. "sorry, I didn't know. But the Ursa Major spirit here is a caregiver spirit, only getting angry when those she's put in charge of are in danger. People buy her key for use if they want or need to go out and want to leave their children in capable hands. I got her as a way to help protect injured comrades during possible large battles." she smiled and held up a silver key with a bear's head on the hold. "open, the gate of the Ursa major. Sharona!" she said, a seal with a keyhole appearing in front of the key, Twilight cowering in fear as she waited. There was a flash of light as a tall woman with a well muscled body, wearing long pants, a sleeveless top that held tight against her, with a bearskin hat, the head on top of her own, covering her brown hair and brown eyes a bit as the arms of the bear went down and covered over her own arms from about halfway down the upper arm, the bear claws covering her hands. While it first it looked like the fur and claws were just a sleeve, if one looked they would see the bear spirit clenching the paws as of they were her own hands.

After a few moments of not hearing the resounding crash that would have marked the entrance of an Ursa Major in Equestria, Twilight peered out from under the table, blinking as she saw the tall woman now standing in front of where she was. She picked herself up from the floor and looked at her. “So this is a celestial spirit? She doesn’t look any different from you other humans.” At this Sharona gave a slight smirk and bent down, easily picking the pony up as if she were a light weight and held her up. “Still think I’m just another human.” Twilight gasped, preparing to teleport before she actually focused on her magic. Her horn glowed its signature lavender color, but she could tell the leylines of this world were somewhat different than in her own. She had to feel out for the magic before she managed to teleport herself back onto the floor behind Lucy. At this act of magic the others stopped and looked at her, Lucy giving a surprised gasp. “You can use magic too?” She said, giving a smile to Sharona as she let her go back to the Celestial realm.

Twilight stopped and straightened herself. “Yes I can. In fact where I’m from all unicorns can use some kinds of magic. Though mostly it pertains to being useful with their special talent. My friend has a talent for designing outfits with beautiful gems so she has a spell that helps her locate gems even if they are buried underground.” She said with a smile. Gray spoke up next, shirtless once again but at least he had pants on still. “That reminds me, what’s with the mark on your hind legs?” he said, pointing to the six pointed star on Twilight’s flank. “Oh, that’s my cutie mark.” Natsu tilted his head. “Cutie mark?” Twilight smiled. “Each pony, at some point in their young life, discovers either their true talent, or something that makes them special, and it becomes visible on their flanks in the form of a cutie mark. My mark is a magic star because my special talent is magic itself.” At this the others smiled. “So what kind of magic can you do?” Asked Natsu, Gray, and Lucy in unison. Twilight gave a light blush and looked away. “W-Well, I don’t really like to brag about my magic.” She said with a smile. “But as you saw, teleportation is one of the tricks I can use. Another is basic levitation that all unicorns can use.” She said, her horn glowing again as she located the leylines. As she focused, a purple aura surrounded Happy, causing the blue cat to float up into the air. Happy laughed and rolled around in the air as he was lifted. Twilight smiled and set him back down on top of the table.

Twilight then turned to Lucy. “Um, not to be a bother, but is it possible for me to go back?” She said, looking at her. Lucy then gasped and facepalmed. “Oh I’m so sorry. I got so excited that it slipped my mind. Um I’m not exactly sure. You were summoned from a different world than the Celestial Realm so I’m not sure how it would work.” Lucy picked out the key with the unicorn head on it, now noticing it was the same lavender color as Twilight rather than the normal deep blue. “Alright so for this to work it has to be mutual consent for closing the gate.” She said, closing her eyes and focusing, Twilight closing her eyes as well. “Close, Gate of the Unicorn.” She calmly chanted, the seal appearing again as Twilight was surrounded by a light and cloud of smoke. After a few seconds the smoke cleared and the purple unicorn was indeed gone. Lucy smiled, looking at the key and hoping that she had gotten sent to the right world.

Twilight kept her eyes closed, once again feeling the ground under her slip away and her magic seem to swell inside her before it calmed down and she felt ground underneath her hooves once again. She slowly opened one eye, then both as she looked around, smiling happily that she had been returned to Ponyville in the same spot she had been when she had watched Rainbow Dash perform her stunt earlier. She then looked up in the sky, gasping a bit as she saw that there were still bits of rainbow in the sky, the Pegasus being visible with her rainbow trail as she flew until she managed to slow herself down enough to land. Twilight thought to herself. ‘This is crazy, I’m sure I was in that world for almost half an hour. Yet only a minute seems to have passed here. Maybe time flow between the worlds is different.” She thought to herself, snapping out of her train of thought as her friend landed near her, questioning her about the trick. She smiled and talked with her for a while more before heading back to the library. This would make an interesting letter for princess Celestia.

Twilight smiled as she walked inside her library, looking over to spike. "boy spike, you wouldn't believe what just happened." she said. Her little dragon assistan turned around with a smile, about to say something, but Twilight's senses were cut off as she felt herself enter the blackness once again, hearing those words once more. "Open! Gate of the Unicorn!"

At the end of the day.

Twilight groaned a bit as she opened her eyes, once again seeing the members of Fairy Tail around her, though this time there was a much shorter person with them, wearing what looked like an elf's outfit. "hmm so this is the same unicorn as the first time?" he said, looking up a bit at the unicorn. "Yes Master Makarov." Lucy said with a smile then turned to Twilight. "This is our guild master. Makarov Dreyar." she said, gesturing to the old man. Makarov gave a nod and turned to Lucy. "Now then, can I see the key you used for the summoning?" he said, holding out his hand. She nodded and handed him the key, Makarov inspecting it closely, looking at the symbol on it and how it was the same color as twilight. He snapped his fingers, a magical seal appearing and covering over the key. Soon a long chain of symbols sprouted forth from the key, the spell coding of the key being shown as the guild members and Twilight watched the chain of magic fly around the room.

After a few moments a girl on the other side of the room gave a shout. "Ah here!" she shouted. "What is it Levy?" the blue haired girl adjusted her headband and magicked a pair of glasses onto her face as she looked at the spell programming. "right here." Levy pointed to a chain of complicated symbols and figures. The others moved over towards her as the part of the magic was held in place. "right here, the part for the other realm coordinates. This part isn't what it should be." levy said with a smile, pointing out the spot that she had seen when practically begging Lucy to be able to look at one of her keys' spell programming to help her learn more. Makarov and Lucy both looked at the spot in the spellwork, Makarov giving a sigh. "I see." he said, turning away and canceling out the viewing spell.

Twilight turned to Makarov and Lucy. "why did you stop spell? If you found the mistake in the spell, couldn't you just fix it so that it summons the correct unicorn instead of me?" Makarov exchanged glances with Lucy who gave a sad look and a nod, kneeling down a bit and giving Twilight a hug, catching the pony by surprise for a second. "The problem is that the part of the spell that is wrong is unchangeable. To do so would practically destroy the key, dooming that spirit to eternity in the void between realms." With this, Twilight finally pieced together the thoughts. "so you mean that the key is permanently linked to me, and to try and change it would doom me to endless darkness?" Lucy gave a sad nod, releasing Twilight from the hug. Twilight gave Lucy a soft smile. "magic is not always clear and simple. If I was brought here then there's no helping it." she said, levitating a napkin up to wipe at a tear that had been forming in the corner of lucy's eye.

After a few moments Natsu gave a smile and leaned over. "So that makes you one of our nakama then." at this Twilight tilted her head. "Nakama?" Lucy gave a small laugh. "It's a way of saying that your a friend now." at this Twilight brightened with a smile. "You all consider me a friend?" At this gray gave a smile. "of course. If you're one of Lucy's spirits technically, then you're a friend of ours. Another of her spirits was a guild member of ours for a long while. Though we didn't know he was a spirit at first." he remembered getting into a ton of fights with Loki who ended up being the golden key spirit Leo of the lion.

Twilight smiled then looked around at her new friends, noticing the guild was a bit less crowded. "Where did some of the people that were here earlier go?" she asked. Lucy looked around. "well some of the other guild members went on missions, others decided to head home for the day." Twilight blinked and looked at them. "how long has it been since I was brought here before?" Natsu leaned back and thought. "about an hour or so I think?" he said. Lucy smiled. "We had to wait for Master to return from a council meeting so that he could inspect the key." Twilight sat down on her haunches, thinking. "hmm if what you said is true, then there is possibly a slight time difference in our worlds. Or maybe it's just the magic that brings me here is a bit off due to the wrong location in it's spell code." she said. Makarov nodded and smiled. "well either time here will fly by or the magic may sync up eventually who knows. For now, Lucy. Is there anything else you noticed while using that key?" Lucy blinked and thought for a bit, rubbing her chin then snapped her fingers. "oh! While using it, it doesn't feel like as much of a strain on my magical energy like when I use other keys." At this Twilight spoke up. "That may be due to me actually. Most unicorns have good stores of natural mana within them, the most trained unicorns able to keep up continuous spell use for several hours. However, my special talent," she said, pointing to her cutie mark. "is magic itself. My mentor says it's because I have a large store of mana inside me. I think she compared it to herself as the ocean, a trained unicorn as a large pond, and me as a small lake." she said, blushing a little when she realized she had bragged a little. Something she tried not to do when it came to her magic. Ever since the whole Trixie and Ursa Minor incident, she had learned it was ok to be confident in your abilities as long as you didn't go bragging and showboating around.

They all stared at Twilight with somewhat incredulous looks. "wait if your mentor compared herself to an ocean, then she must be one strong as heck unicorn." Natsu said with a smile, wishing he could fight such a strong magical creature. Twilight giggled and smiled. "oh no, my mentor isn't a unicorn. Remember the two alicorn princesses I told you about? My mentor is Princess Celestia, the one who raises the sun. She noticed my gift, as she called it, when I was just a little filly and took me under her wing." at this the guild mages' eyes widened even further. Not only were they talking to apparently a very powerful unicorn, but one that was the personal apprentice of what they figured to be that world's god like being.

After a few moments the front doors were pushed open, a woman with long red hair and a chest plate of armor walked in. "hmmm Master, welcome back from the council meeting. How did things g......" she stopped as she spotted Twilight sitting there with the others. Immediately her instincts kicked in as she summoned a sword with her magic and leapt forward. Just as she was a few feet from the unicorn, a large hand appeared and stopped her. Makarov gave a sigh. "Stop Erza. This creature isn't an enemy." At this Erza straightened her posture, giving the guild master a somewhat confused look while still seeming to maintain that air of deadly grace she carried herself with. Twilight was tense and almost cowering when she saw the sword carrying woman leap towards her, only to be stopped when the small human grew his hand to giant proportions. "Wha...? How...? Who...?" she said, her mind trying to process the situation.

Natsu, Gray, and Lucy all chuckled softly at Twilight's befuddled reaction. Makarov gave a smile as he turned to Twilight. "This woman is Erza Scarlet. One of our guild's strongest mages and fighters." Lucy gave a slight laugh. "Erza tends to get a bit overprotective when it comes to her friends and fellow guild members." As Makarov shrunk his hand back down with a snap, Natsu lunged forward. "Erza! Now that you're done with your mission let's fight. I know I'll win this time." Erza gave a chuckle and smirk switching out the sword for a large club that she used to knock Natsu away to the side like a fly. "always full of openings. Now then," she turned to Twilight. As they said, my name is Erza Scarlet." she said with a light bow. Twilight bowed her head as well. "A pleasure to meet you as well. My name is Twilight Sparkle."

After a few minutes of explanation from both Lucy and Makarov, Erza understood Twilight's situation. "I see. Well then welcome to Fairy Tail." she turned and went over to the large request board at the back of the guild to look for another mission. Gray then stood up and cracked his back, turning to Twilight and Lucy. "Didn't you say your world had a slightly different time than here? Maybe you ought to get back just in case it's been more than a long time rather than just a little while like last time." At this Twilight gasped and turned to Lucy with a worried look. Lucy smiled and nodded, taking out the key. "see you around sometime. And maybe next time we can visit your world." she said with a laugh. Twilight laughed as well, not taking her seriously since she figured the magic only worked one way with her. After a few moments she felt the blackness envelop her, though she wasn't as startled since she was expecting it this time.

----------------------------------------------------

Twilight then opened her eyes, smiling as she saw she was back in her library. She looked around a bit, then saw a panicked Spike run at her and hug her. "Twilight!" The unicorn mare was caught by surprise for a second before returning the hug. "What happened Twilight? You came in then all of a sudden just vanished. Were you magically kidnapped or something? Did you give em a good blast of magic and then escape?" Twilight gave a soft giggle and broke the hug. "No Spike, nothing like that. I'll explain it to you later, but first, I think I have a very interesting letter to write to Princess Celestia after today." she smiled and tousled the little dragon's spines, heading up the stairs to her study. Spike looked confused for a second but shrugged and smiled. When living with Twilight Sparkle, an element of Harmony and personal protoge of the Princess, things didn't always make sense.

Twilight smiled as she sat down at her desk, picking up a quill and piece of parchment with her magic, spreading out the parchment before narrating her letter as the quill began moving.

In Canterlot Castle, Princess Celestia sat in her private chambers, gently sipping a cup of tea as she prepared herself to lower the sun the last bit to make way for her sister to raise the moon. As she finished her cup, a small burst of flame appeared in front of her face. She smiled as she saw the seal on the scroll, unrolling it and reading the latest message from her protogè and her friends.

"Dear Princess Celestia,

Today I learned something very interesting about friendship. What can start out as an ordinary day can end with an exciting occurrence that can lead you to meet some very interesting people."

At this Celestia stopped and thought for a moment. 'People? That word hasn't been around for thousands of years. Where did Twilight Sparkle hear of it?' she shook it off for the moment and continued reading.

"People who can seem like an entirely different kind, yet be so much like you that you can see past their outer differences. Two things that seem worlds apart can sometimes find more in common than they thought. All it takes is the turn of a key.

Your Faithful Student,
Twilight Sparkle."

Upon finishing the letter, Princess Celestia had a slightly confused look on her face as she stepped out onto her balcony to finish lowering the sun, bringing an end to yet another peaceful but somewhat strange day in the land of Equestria.

Author's note: alright folks now that the introductory set up is out of the way, the real adventures and mishaps of Twilight and the Fairy Tail mages will begin. A Royal Summons

As the sun rose over the peaceful land of Equestria, many ponies were getting up to begin their daily routines or to start out on some grand new adventure. However one pony in particular, a certain lilac unicorn who was usually up happily to have breakfast and get the library open was just climbing into bed, grumbling softly. "Stupid moutain troll. Didn't have to chuck those boulders at me. At least we got him to relocate and stop bothering that village. Though Natsu didn't have to go and destroy half the place." She said with a giggle and yawn as she closed her eyes preparing to sleep. Though the waking world had other plans as the door was slammed open, Spike giving a cheerful smile. "Come on Twilight, breakfast is ready. I made blueberry pancakes."

Twilight sighed as she slowly stood up from her bed, levitating a brush over to clean up her mane. She could at least relax for a while and enjoy her breakfast. She had worked out a contract with Lucy that made the summoning spell work like an answering system. The summon now only worked if Twilight accepted, in case she was busy or there was another little mishap involving dangerous creatures from the Everfree Forest, or if it was a dire emergency and they needed her help immediately. "Ok Spike. I'll be down in a minute. Just let me freshen up a little." She said with a smile, heading down the hall to the bathroom to take a quick shower to wash off some of the dirt and stone that had clung to her mane and fur even after returning to Equestria. She sighed and smiled, heading downstairs.

Spike put the plates with large stack of pancakes on the table. Making sure there was plenty of syrup. He smiled and nibbled on a ruby he pulled from his secret stash while waiting for Twilight to come downstairs. A few moments later said unicorn walked through the kitchen archway. "It smells wonderful Spike." She said with a smile as she levitated a fork and knife and began to eat her pancakes, after meticuluously making sure every piece had some syrup and butter on them. Just as she was about to dig into her next pancake, she heard a small belch from across the table. "Spike, I know its only the two of us, but you could still remember your table manners." Spike gave a groan and wiped his mouth. "Wasn't my fault Twilight. The princess sent you a latter." He said as he held up a scroll that had a tiny bit of syrup on the edges of the paper. Twilight levitated the scroll over to her. "Strange. I wasn't expecting a letter from Princess Celestia any time soon." She said as she opened the letter.

Dear Twilight Sparkle,
It has come to my attention that there has been a large fluctuation of magic within the vicinity of your library over the last several days. I would like for you and Spike to come to the castle as soon as possible to meet with me. I have sent a carriage to pick you up. It should arrive right about....

"Now." Twilight read aloud, a knocking at the door resounding through the library. "Twilight Sparkle. Her majesty has sent us to bring you to the palace." Spike blinked as he held up a forkful of pancake. "How does the princess always do that?" He said, stuffing his mouth as he went to open the door. Twilight walked over towards the center room of the library. "I'll be right out sirs. Just let me grab a few things from my room." She said. The two armored pegasi nodded as they waited while Twilight ran upstairs, packing several quills, a couple inkwells, and her massive stack of notes she had taken while on her trips in Fiore. A few moments later she came downstairs, her saddlebags nearly full as she walked over to the door. "Twilight dear, what on earth is going on here?" Said a voice with an accent that warranted drama.

Twilight looked over, seeing Rarity there with a confused look on her face, her little sister by her side. "Oh, no problem Rarity. I just got a letter from the princess asking me to come to Canterlot to see her about something." At this Rarity looked both excited and slightly worried. "Is it something that requires the elements of harmony? Should I get the others? Oh what should I wear? It is Canterlot after all." Twilight held up her hoof to stop her friend before she began hyperventilating. "Rarity. Rarity. As far as I know there is no imminent crisis that requires the Elements of Harmony. And the resquest was for me to come. Though I don't think the princess would mind if you tagged along and were allowed to walk around Canterlot while I see what she needs." At this Rarity's face brightened and she dashed off, soon returning with her own saddlebags stuffed with clothes, as well as a bag of clothes for Sweetie Belle. "But Rarity I was going to hang out with applebloom and scootaloo to work on our cutie marks." Rarity gave a soft laugh. "Oh Sweetie Belle don't be ridiculous. Canterlot is a wonderous city. And its never to early to get yourself noticed by high society." She said with a gleam in her eye.

Twilight smiled and gave a nervous chuckle at her friend's reaction. She then turned to the armored pegasi who had hooked themselves up to the carriage. "I hope this isn't a terrible bother to you gentlemen." The two pegasi looked at each other and shook their heads. The three ponies and dragon climbed into the carriage, the vehicle soon giving a lurch as it was pulled along the ground then into the air as the group made their way to Canterlot.

The quartet sat silently aside from Sweetie Belle leaning over the side of the carriage to look at the scenery as they were flown to the royal city. After several more minutes of flying, the quartet finally landed in one of the courtyards leading to the castle. Almost immediately Rarity dashed off towards the fashion district, practically dragging Sweetie Belle there, the little filly struggling to hold onto her older sister. Twilight, Spike, and the guards all stared at the siblings then blinked, Twilight turning to the two Stallions. “Thank you again sirs for bringing us here.” She said with a smile as her and Spike headed up towards the castle gates.

As the two entered the castle, a few of the servants around began whispering slightly about what could be going on. Rarely did the princess ever call for her pupil unless it was a dire situation. One maid even began screaming in panic and ran out of the palace shouting out about the end of us all. One of the guards rolled his eyes and caught the panic stricken mare in the side with a cupcake, the sugar dosed treat causing her to go loopy for a second before passing out in an immediate sugar crash. Twilight and spike both gave soft chuckles at the reaction, reminding themselves to check on the mare later as they headed for the throne room. As they entered, the two of them saw both Princess Celestia and Princess Luna sitting on their thrones

Spike blinked and looked at the two regal sisters. “But wait, I thought only Princess Celestia wanted to see us.” Both sisters gave a smile, Luna speaking up first. “While it was my sister that sent the letter, this matter concerns both of us young dragon.” Celestia nodded at her younger sister’s words. “Twilight Sparkle. As stated in the letter, both me and my sister have detected strange and massive fluxuations of magic within Ponyville. We were hoping you may be able to shed some light on the situation.” Twilight smiled softly and walked up to the steps leading up to the thrones. “Well your hignesses, I believe I can actually give you more information than that. You see....” Twilight then began to tell Celestia and Luna of how she was originally brought to the world of Fiore and first met the guild. After several moments of silence, the two princesses looked at each other with slacked jaws, reaching over and pushing each other’s jaw up with a hoof. They then turned back to Twilight, staring incredulously at the mare. Even Spike had a blank, almost dumbfounded look as this was the first time he heard the fact behind Twilight’s random disappearances lately.

Twilight smiled sheepishly at their reaction, clearing her throat a bit. “If you would like Princesses, I have my notes as well as journal entries from when I’ve gone there. Would you like me to tell you one of the first adventures that happened while there?” The two Princesses blinked and then looked at each other, then stood up and walked over to Twilight. “Come Twilight. Let us get some food and drink from the kitchen. From your description of this world, this may be one riveting tale.” Celestia said with a smile, the Princesses leading Twilight and Spike to the kitchen. After procuring their snacks and drinks, the quartet headed out to the garden where some servants had set up a table and four spots for them to sit and enjoy. Twilight gave a smile, waiting for them to be comfortable, taking a sip of her tea before smiling. “Well then, let me tell you three, about the first adventure I had with the Fairy Tail mages. This is the story of how we encountered an ancient wyvern.”

Author’s note: alright well after much technical, real life, and just plain out me being lazy difficulties, the next chapter is up. However I will have the next one up some time later tonight. Hooray insomnia. comments both positive and negative are appreciated. I know there are going to be a good amount of spelling or grammatical issues due to me writing this by myself with no prereaders. Originally i was going to include part of the story in this chapter but decided to just put the whole adventure at once as the next chapter. a good chunk of it is done already. So once again slight tease but be prepared for action next chapter. One other thing. When doing the adventures while over in Fiore, it will be told through the perspective of Twilight’s journal, aka switching to first person from Twilight’s perspective. So there will be I’s and me’s used. Right then. ANDIAMO!!! (got that little bit from the new story I read called the Hourglass always stays. was featured.

The Fiore Chronicles Part 1

A/N: Ok It’s been a long time with this, but to be honest for a while I contemplated just cutting off the story at the previous chapter because part of me felt it would be beating a dead horse to continue. But with the response from all the people who have favorited this story and actually enjoy it, I am going to give it a shot with this little arc and then see where it goes from there.

right then onwards we go. -walks over to a door and opens the lock with a glimmering golden key, a bright light swallowing you readers into the story-

=====================================================================

Twilight smiled and looked around at her friend and number one assistant Spike, as well as the two princesses as they all sat at the table in the castle gardens, the two alicorns and young drake eagerly awaiting her tale. She gave a slight smile and looked at them. “Right then. This is the story of my first adventure in the land of Fiore.” She said, her mind taking her back to what had started out as an ordinary day, yet turned into so much more.

~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~

Twilight gave a shiver as she sat up in her library, looking at the window to judge the time of day. “Hmm, just about noon.” she said with a smile, heading over to the kitchen to grab herself a quick snack. “hmm, daisy sandwich, or maybe one of those hayseed muffins Ditzy Do brought me yesterday. She really does make some of the best muffins. Almost as good as Pinkie’s cup-” her speech was cut off as she all of a sudden found herself no longer in her kitchen, but rather in front of a large castle looking building, a single large tapestry hanging from the front with a familiar insignia. “-cakes....” she shook her head a bit and turned, smiling as she saw Lucy. “You know, we really should work on some way of maybe warning me before this happens.” She said with a smile, trotting over to the blond haired stellar mage.

Lucy gave a smile and laughed. “Maybe the Master can figure something out.” She said and leaned down, hugging Twilight. “So, what did you summon me for?” She said, her curiosity somewhat taking an interest now. Since her first time being summoned to this other world, she had only been summoned once before, and that was more of just a quick exchange between her and the guildmaster about the differences of magic between the worlds. Though for Twilight, a quick exchange took about two hours. Lucy smiled at the unicorn and pointed at the large town in front of the guild. “well I figured since you were going to be one of our friends now, we could give you the grand tour.” She said with a smile.

The two then walked into the busy streets of Magnolia, several of the smaller children immediately crowding around Twilight, most of them also wanting to try and hop on her to ride on her back. At this Twilight couldn’t help but laugh and smile, before giving a grimace as too many tried to climb on at once, causing her to collapse under the pile of kids. Lucy gave a gasp but couldn't help but giggle a bit as the children were all slowly levitated up into the air, revealing a slightly flattened Twilight.

Lucy gave a smile and walked over. "You alright Twilight?" The blonde mage laughed softly as she walked over to help the unicorn. Twilight gave a soft smile and nodded. "Yeah I'm okay. i just wasn't expecting all of them to try and climb on at once." At this they both shared a small laugh before Lucy turned to the pile of children picking themselves up. "Now I want you all to apologize to Twilight for causing such a fuss." The children nodded and turned to Twilight before apologizing and all running off to play more. Lucy gavr a sigh and turned to Twilight. "Are kids this crazy in your world?" Twilight rolled her eyes. "You have no idea." She said with a laugh, remembering all the antics of the cutie mark crusaders.

Lucy smiled and over the next hour or so began giving Twilight the tour of the city, showing her many of the shops and interesting places. Needless to say a few people were surprised at seeing a talking pony, but in a world of magic, they quickly got over their surprise and practically welcomed her as another member of the community. "And this is an interesting spot." By now they had arrived at a stage that had a large area for a crowd. "A while back, there was a contest held here to decide....well it was basically a beauty pageant, but its a bit embarassing to recall that part honestly. But what happened next was an uproar no one saw coming." She then began telling Twilight about the chaos caused by the Raijinshuu and Laxus during the festival. (If you don't know who Laxus or the Raijinshuu are, go read the manga. I aint retelling a whole arc worth of stuff. Plus if anyone is reading this and has just started reading the manga learn this fact about me. I HATE SPOILERS!!! and now back to your regularly scheduled fanfic, already in progress. -sips from coffee mug-)

Twilight sat there stunned at the story of what had happened in this peaceful town. "Wow, who knew Natsu was that powerful." At this statement from the unicorn, Lucy covered her mouth and giggled. "What?" Twilight asked. "What's so funny?" Lucy smiled and uncovered her mouth. "Natsu is....well to say he's powerful is just an understatement. When it comes to protecting those he cares about, he will do whatever it takes to make sure they are kept safe." she smiled softly, Twilight looking at her and giving a smile. "Do you like Natsu Lucy?" At the blunt statement Lucy blinked, her face turning red before she began flailing her arms. "W-w-w-what?!? like him? no no no no no! yes he's a nice guy and really fun, but Natsu is...well he's like a brother to me. Everyone at Fairy Tail is like my family." she said with a happy smile, her face still red. Twilight laughed softly and smiled before Lucy placed a hand on her head. "Come on, there's still plenty to show you." she said, leading the unicorn through more stores and open markets, talking with friends and soon arriving back at the guild.

"So Twilight, how do you like the town?" Lucy asked as they entered the building. "It's amazing. So many friendly people, and hyperactive kids are a problem I'd be willing to bet every world shares." she said, both of them laughing as Lucy sat down at a nearby table, Twilight standing next to it. "Welcome back you two." Mirajane said as she brought over a glass of soda for Lucy, and a glass of water for Twilight Twilight smiled, her horn glowing as she levitated the glass to her mouth and took several sips. Though after several moments of peaceful silence, Natsu came running over to the table shouting while holding a flyer in his hand. After all let's face it, silence in Fairy Tail has a shorter life span than steak on a Texan's dinner plate.

"Oi Lucy! I found a new mission for us!" he said, slapping the paper down on the table, Happy hopping off Natsu's shoulder and landing next to the paper. Lucy and Twilight looked at each other before leaning over to look at the job request paper. "farming/livestock village requesting help concerning animals and harvested crops being taken in the middle of the night. purpetrator unknown, though one farmer claims to have seen a large beast swoop down and carry the animal away. Reward two hundred and fifty....THOUSAND JEWEL!?!?" Lucy said in surprise. She then looked and saw it was an A rank mission. Her inner fear about a dangerous creature made her want to tell Natsu no but when she went to look up, he was already over by the master getting his approval.

Makarov looked at the flyer. "Hmm alright then, but since it's an A rank mission." he turned over to another table. "Gray, Erza, you two go as well." At this Gray slammed his hands on the table. "Why do I have to work with this hot head?" At this Natsu leaned over at Gray. "What did you say you exhibitionist wannabe?!" Before they could begin fighting Erza knocked them both over the head and grabbed them by the backs of their shirts. "Understood Master." With that she began dragging them towards the front of the main hall, Lucy standing up and following after, Twilight looking at Gray and Natsu with a slightly concerned look. “Will they be alright?” She asked, seeing the large bumps on their heads. “Oh those two get into fights all the time. Erza just does that to knock some sense into them. Though there are times where I think she goes a bit overboard.” She said with a small laugh. Twilight smiled slightly and nodded, following the four towards the train station where they would begin their next mission, and Twilight’s first ever adventure in this world.

The Fiore Chronicles Part 2

View Online

A large train is seen chugging along the tracks, heading towards the mountains. Onboard, the fairy tail mages and Twilight all are waiting until they arrive at their destination. However there was one Mage amongst the group that Twilight couldn't help but giggle at. As was known amongst the guild, Natsu was a strong Mage, but became motion sick very easily. Twilight couldn't help but laugh as she saw the usually energetic fire mage look worse than Spike after eating too many gems. She then turned to Lucy. "So what was the name of our destination again?"

Lucy couldn't help but laugh a little at Natsu as well before turning to Twilight. "It's a small farming village on the other side of the mountain called Tremira. They are a fairly self sufficient community, usually trading goods within the village for services or other goods, but use Jewels as well if say their particular service isn't required at the time yet they still need to buy from others." She looked over the piece of paper they had been given after signing for the mission. "According to Master Makarov, we're supposed to be meeting with a smaller guild that operates near the village as well." Gray turned to Lucy, momentarily stopping his torment of Natsu. "Another guild? I thought this was just our mission?" Erza looked over at him. "The guild's name is Heaven's Gaze. And while they are a formally recognized guild, They act as more of a communication link between the mountain villages in the area and the main government. The mages there specialize in magic related to delivery and communication. Very few are combat oriented."

They all looked at her, somewhat surprised by her knowledge, aside from Natsu whose was still near unconscious from the motion of the train. Erza blinked at them. "I met someone a few years ago who was a member of Heaven's Gaze. It was while I was at the capital after the whole Lullaby incident." Lucy shivered a bit and Gray tensed slightly. "Lullaby." They both said. Twilight tilted her head a bit. "What was the Lullaby incident?" The three of them blinked and looked at her. "Well you see in our world, there are the formal guilds, recognized by the government, and then there are the Dark Guilds." Lucy began, "Guilds set up without informing the government, or guilds that have had their guild license revoked yet continue to function. They are usually comprised of dark mages and assassins. There was one guild whose members were so upset about being shut down they attempted to use an ancient evil to try and take the lives of the all the guild masters as well as anyone who got in their way." Twilight's face paled at the thought of magic being used for such evil and dark purposes. "Sorry I asked." Twilight said with a slight grimace.

They all nodded, happily moving the conversation back to the mission at hand. "Maybe they'll be able to give us a bit more information about what exactly we might be dealing with." Lucy said, handing the job request flyer back to Erza. "Possibly." The armor clad mage said as she looked over the paper again. "Though all they say in this is that it's some form of winged beast, since most of the farmers only heard the sounds of wingbeats before noticing one of their animals missing." She said, folding the paper away and putting it into one of the gaps in her armor. She then took a quick glance out the window of the train. "We should be there in several minutes." She said, getting her stuff ready for when they arrived. The others nodded and began readying their gear as well, Twilight reminding Gray to put on his clothes once again.

As the train pulled into the small rural station, The four mages stepped off the train, or rather three of them did, Natsu being levitated off of it by Twilight's magic. After a few moments of getting his feet back on solid, unmoving ground, the fire eating mage seemed revitalized. "Alright! Let's get going and find that creature!" He said, preparing to run off before his scarf was yanked by Lucy. "Hold on a minute. We've got to check in with the other guild first. This is technically their area of operation." She said, releasing his scarf as the six of them walked over to the large map at the station. "Alright so the village called Tremira is here." Lucy said, pointing to a small spot on the map, about an hour's walk from the station. "Heaven's Gaze is between here and Tremira, so we can stop there first and meet up with them before heading to the village." They all nodded and began heading in the direction the guild was located.

After a good half hour or so of walking, the group came upon the guild building. Though it looked more like a post office than a guild building, but given the jobs that they handled, it made a bit more sense. The group walked up to the open doors, several mages moving in and out, one even flying out, a small pair of magical wings on their feet visible as they rushed off. Three of the four mages, along with one pony and cat, stared in surprise. Erza however simply kept walking forward into the guild. Inside the building was similar to what one could guess based on the outside. Large carts full of packages, letters flying around the room guided by magic, workers and regular citizens alike moving around the rather spacious interior. The group looked around, Natsu getting smacked in the face by a letter quick before it flew off to it's destination, Erza grabbing the errant fire mage before he could run off after the offending piece of post. The group all walked over towards the main counter before a voice called out. "Erza? Erza is that you?" The feminine voice called out. The group would look over to see a young woman, likely in her early twenties, wearing a bright red and blue postal uniform, carrying a forest green pack on her back, along with three smaller brown pouches along her hips.

Erza smiled and walked over, bowing her head. "Natalie, good to see you again." The sword mage said with a smile. "Though I'm afraid this isn't a personal visit." She said, gesturing to her guild mates. Natalie smiled but soon blinked as she saw Twilight. "Uh, Erza, I hate to be a bother but horses aren't allowed in the postal building. Last one in here tried to eat half the inbound letters." At this, Twilight gave a soft laugh. "Understandable, however I'm a pony, and don't plan on eating any mail. I understand the importance of the postal system." She said with a smile, surprising Natalie as well as several other members of Heaven's Gaze. Natalie blinked and walked over, looking at Twilight. "Well i'll be damned. Not just a horse, but a unicorn? Erza you sure have of the craziest things happen aroud you." Natalie said with a giggle, holding a hand out to Twilight. "Name's Natalie, Natlie Rosegrave. Postal worker responsible for route seven forty-three." She smiled, Twilight returning the smile and extending her hoof, shaking the postal girl's hand. "Twilight Sparkle. Unicorn mage and thanks to a little magical mishap, summoned spirit of Lucy over here." She said, gesturing towards the blond stellar mage.

Lucy smiled and waved before walking over. "Pleasure to meet you Natalie. Fairy Tail has responded to the request of Tremira Village regarding the beast kidnapping their livestock." She said, holding up the poster with the request. Natalie took the flyer and looked it over. "Oh! Okay, you guys want Skip. He's the one in charge of that route. He was actually just about to head out on his route there." She smiled, pointing across the room at a mail carrier, a young man that stood surprisingly tall at around six foot four. The group walked over, introducing themselves before joining him, Natsu choosing to get airlifted by happy, following the mail cart overhead as the group made their way to Tremira.

The group traveled for just under a half hour thanks to the speed of the magical cart, Natsu yelling down that he could see the village just over the next hill. The group got off just at the entrance, thanking Skip before he headed off to deliver the mail aroud the village. Natsu flew down, Happy's wings vanishing in a soft flash as he landed on Twilight's haunches. The mare smiled at the feline as the group all began going around the town, splitting up to ask and investigate about the crop and livestock disappearances.
