When Moon Dancer comes to visit Ponyville, Twilight can't help but be thrilled.
When Moon Dancer comes to visit Ponyville, Twilight can't help but be thrilled, even so Twilight hopes she doesn't slip back into her old ways and cowers in her library as soon as Moon Dancer shows up at her home.
It's a sunny day in Ponyville, and Twilight has once again gone out to check her mailbox. As she looks through the letters she'd holding with her magic, she finds one from Moon Dancer, and she then proceeds to open it and read it. "Dear Twilight," she reads, "I'm coming to Ponyville to see you since we haven't seen each other in a long while and besides, I need a break from Canterlot and magic school for a little whiles anyways. I'll see you in two days, Moon Dancer." Twilight's eyes widen. She can't wait to see her friend again. She goes inside and spends all day tidying up after dropping the mail on her desk with Moon Dancer's letter on the top.
Two days later, Twilight gets a knock on her door. She opens it and finds Moon Dancer standing there. She smiles and embraces her friend in a hug.
"It's so good to see you again!" says Twilight delighted.
"It's good to see you too," replies Moon Dancer with a smile. "Now what do you have planned for us to do? I'm personally starving."
"Okay then, we'll go to Sugar Cube Corner and get something to eat," replies Twilight. Moon Dancer then puts her stuff down in the castle and the two head off to Sugar Cube Corner to get something to eat.
At Sugar Cube Corner, the two enjoy two vanilla cupcakes and two glasses of lemonade. Twilight watches as Moon Dancer gobbles down her food then proceeds to order three more cupcakes and down them as well. Twilight just stares at her. "Wow, you really were hungry!" teases Twilight.
"Well, that's what happens when you only live off of protein bars and Indian food," replies Moon Dancer.
Twilight and Moon Dancer then burst out laughing. They then leave their change on the counter and head off to the fair grounds where they play the carnival games and ride the coasters and the Ferris wheel. Moon Dancer is laughing all the while. Twilight can't help but smile. She's glad Moon Dancer is in town. She has a feeling this is going to be a much needed break from the stresses of everyday for the both of them.
The next day, Moon Dancer wakes up when she smells stuffed pastry baking in the kitchen. She then goes there and is greeted by Spike and Twilight. "Good morning, Moon Dancer," says Spike with a smile.
"Good morning to you too, Spike," replies Moon Dancer. Spike then sits her and Twilight down and brings them the fresh baked apple stuffed pastry. He then goes and gets himself one and sits down with them. As the three enjoy their breakfast, they continue to talk.
"What's life like in Canterlot nowadays?" asks Spike.
"It's so so," replies Moon Dancer, "it hasn't been the same since Lyra moved here to Ponyville to live with Bon Bon."
"I heard about that," responds Twilight, "how are the others taking it?"
"Better than I am, I assure you," replies Moon Dancer. "Now what are the plans for the day? I know how you are about planning everything."
Twilight blushes then tells Moon Dancer the schedule. "First off, I thought we'd go out to the fair ground today, then lunch, maybe ice cream, and then a Coloratura concert tonight."
"Sounds like fun, I can't wait!" replies Moon Dancer as she eats the last crumbs off her plate. Spike then takes hers and Twilight's and his own empty plate over to the sink and washes them. Once he's done, the three head off to the fair ground for the day.
At the fair grounds, Twilight and Moon Dancer enjoy playing ring toss and the other traditional games while Spike is over playing Space Sprocket, the newest alien shooting game in the kiddie area. Twilight smiles at him and giggles then looks back to Moon Dancer. "I'm glad you're here," she sighs.
"Me too," replies Moon Dancer, "Canterlot gets old after awhile." The two then break out laughing.
A few minutes later, Twilight hears Moon Dancer shout, "I win!" before accepting her prize of a giant stuffed Luna doll. Twilight just smiles. The two then head over to the Ferris wheel after providing Spike with a few more bits for a few more rounds of Space Sprocket.
On the Ferris wheel, the two enjoy themselves especially as they approach the top, where they ooh and aah when they touch the skyline. The Ferris wheel then makes its way back around and to the ground. Once the two are off, they go and get some ice cream, cotton candy, and popcorn. As they enjoy their treats, the two laugh, joke, and tell stories. Meanwhile, Spike has fallen asleep at the Space Sprocket game and Twilight picks him up with her magic and lowers him onto her back. She and Moon Dancer then go off and play ball toss, with Moon Dancer winning yet another stuffed doll, this time, one that looks like Celestia.
Three hours later, the two return to Twilight's and get cleaned up before the concert and getting Spike tucked into bed. After tucking him in and washing up, the two head off to the concert, where they get some very good seats since they are earlier than everypony else. An hour later, the concert begins. As Coloratura appears on the stage, Moon Dancer can't help but smile. She then realizes Applejack standing next to her and Twilight. "Hey AJ," says Moon Dancer.
"Oh, hi Moon Dancer," replies AJ. "You're about to see a real treat." Twilight shushes them and the three listen, eyes on Coloratura as she begins to sing. The three smile as they enjoy the concert. They even sing along to the final song, "I'm Just a Pony", along with Rara. A few hours later, the three head off to meet up for dinner with Pinkie, Rarity, Rainbow, and Fluttershy.
A few minutes later at the Hayburger, all the friends sit down around the table and order several hayburgers and horse shoe fries. They all then begin to talk about the concert, gulping down burgers and fries every three sentences. The group has an amazing time together up until Twilight and Moon Dancer leave only because Spike is home alone. As they leave, their friends wave goodbye. Twilight and Moon Dancer smile back at them and wave in return.
A half hour later back at the castle, Twilight and Moon Dancer check on Spike, who is still fast asleep, luckily. Once they are sure he's asleep, the two head off to bed themselves. Tomorrow, Twilight has another day of fun for them to enjoy together. She can't wait!
The next day, Twilight and Moon Dancer go and enjoy the new Daring Do movie at the movie theater. Moon Dancer can tell Twilight is super excited to the point she's even wearing her Daring Do shirt and book accurate safari hat. A few minutes later, Rainbow Dash enters and sits down on the other side of Twilight. And not long after that, several more Daring Do fans pour into the theater and about fifteen minutes later, the movie finally begins and all the ponies, true fans and casual readers shut up and enjoy the movie.
As they watch the movie, Moon Dancer slips off to sleep and Twilight and Rainbow don't even notice as they're too into it. They watch the movie screen as Daring Do fights Caballeron and his men, their eyes glowing. Three hours later, the three exit the theater. "Wasn't that a great movie?!" exclaims Rainbow Dash.
"It sure was!" replies Twilight with a smile. "Best movie of the year. Better than the premier of Masked Crusader that Shining took me to a few weeks ago!"
"For sure," replies Rainbow.
Moon Dancer just rolls her eyes. "The movie was okay."
"It's not everyone's taste and that's okay," replies Twilight putting her hoof around Moon Dancer.
A few minutes later, the three arrive at the Hayburger and go inside and enjoy some lunch. As they eat their burgers, every few bites, Twilight and Rainbow talk about the movie they just saw while Moon Dancer quietly sips her Pony-cola. She loves Twilight, but at times, like right now, her fangirling can get quite annoying. Alas, she's the one that wanted to spend several days with Twilight, so she'll have to put up with it for now.
The next day, Twilight does something near and dear to Moon Dancer, she goes with her to a class she's teaching on Haycart's Method to several adult ponies. As Moon Dancer teaches, Twilight sits in the crowd and smiles. She's so proud of her friend. She's teaching with such enthusiasm and a smile on her face and the mares and stallions are actually listening to her contently.
After the class comes to an end, Twilight congratulates her friend. "I'm so proud of you." Moon Dancer smiles at this and then she and Twilight go off to lunch. At lunch, the two talk about Moon Dancer's amazing seminar. All the while, Moon Dancer can't help but blush.
After they're done with lunch, the two go off to do a little shopping for the day in Manehattan. Twilight can't help but admit that Rarity is right, shopping is soothing for the mind and soul. After several hours, the two come out of the stores with several new outfits and accessories and hop on the ferry back to Ponyville. The two had an amazing day at the seminar and out shopping and they'd honestly have it no other way.
It's a new day and Moon Dancer and Twilight are off on the train once again, this time to the Crystal Empire because today, Twilight is going to introduce her to her brother, sister in law, and niece. Twilight is excited. A few hours later, they arrive in the Crystal Empire and are greeted by Shining Armor, who takes them to the palace.
Once at the palace, Twilight is greeted by Cadence and little Flurry Heart. She then proceeds to introduce them to Moon Dancer and her to them.
"Shining Armor, Cadence, Flurry Heart, this is my friend Moon Dancer," says Twilight, "and Moon Dancer, this is my brother Shining Armor, sister in law Cadence, and niece Flurry Heart."
"Nice to meet you," says Moon Dancer with a smile.
"Nice to meet you too, Moon Dancer," reply Shining and Cadence in return.
"Goo goo," replies Flurry Heart.
A few minutes later in the royal dining room, the five enjoy a nice lunch of crystal berry tarts and hayburgers that Twilight brought with them from Ponyville.
"These tarts are delicious," says Moon Dancer after taking a bite.
"Thanks," replies Cadence with a smile. "They're a favorite here among the crystal ponies and other tourist ponies like yourself."
The four then continue to talk while Flurry Heart contently plays with her wamy in her highchair. Cadence looks over at her daughter and smiles. How she loves being a mother! She then looks back towards Twilight and listens to the conversation they're having once again.
That afternoon, they all go and enjoy the Crystal Fair, a rather big tradition in the Crystal Empire, nowadays. They all thoroughly enjoy themselves especially Moon Dancer. She's never seen so many crystal ponies in one place before. Her eyes widen as she continues to walk around and do all the fun crafts and buy whatever the venders are selling and doing the petting zoo. Twilight is glad her friend is having a fun time. She'd honestly have it no other way.
Around 11:00 that night, Twilight and Moon Dancer return with Shining, Cadence, and Flurry Heart to the castle and are shown to their rooms. In her room, Moon Dancer stares at the ceiling full of constellations. Meanwhile in hers, Twilight enjoys a book which helps her unwind. They had an amazing day. She just can't believe Moon Dancer returns home to Canterlot in two days time.
Two days later, Twilight waves Moon Dancer off as she hops on the train to Canterlot. She's glad her friend came to spend the week with her and she hopes they can do the same again soon. Unfortunately though, Moon Dancer is going to be off at Haycart University for the next five years. Once the train pulls out of sight, Twilight walks back to her castle in Ponyville. There, she gets back to sorting through her books. She's glad Moon Dancer is her best friend. Now, she has to let Moon Dancer continue the next step in her life, while she continues the next step in her own.
