Thorax and Screwball want to celebrate their second anniversary with another couple... who better to play Bridge with than the ponies they impersonated when they first started dating?

That's what they thought... but they decide to go male vs female and end up competing over more things than just the game...

This is the final installment in my "Card Games of Love" Saga. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Bridging the Gap

"So... are you excited for tomorrow or what?" Screwball asked her lover.

"What would I be excited for?" Thorax asked. "Is there a holiday coming up?"

"Well..." Screwball had to think about how to answer Thorax's question. "Yes and no. It's more of an anniversary... but on a holiday that most ponies neglect: Pi Day."

"Right... a holiday named after a number that sounds like the name of a dessert..." Thorax rolled his eyes. "and the anniversary of... what exactly?"

Screwball slapped Thorax in the antlers twice with her hoof... then banged his head against a crystal wall with her chaos magic. "You don't remember? Our first kiss? After eight rounds of War, disguised as Starlight and Sunburst, we revealed our true identities and feelings to one another... how could you have forgotten that was two years ago tomorrow? Last year, I said you should jump off a bridge, and that you were trying my patience."

After another crystal wall banging on the head from Screwball's chaos magic, Thorax replied "Now that you mention it... I do remember that... vaguely... my brain's not what it used to be, Princess... I've been screwed and bugged by your recent... actions."

"You mean the head banging?" Screwball asked. "You'd probably prefer a different kind of banging tomorrow, My Balls."

"Your balls?" Thorax took a few seconds to realize it was a pun of his name... but didn't say anything about a thorax actually being a different organ. "Oh, I get it! Yeah... that kind of banging... after the game, of course."

"Of course... but shouldn't we invite another couple?" Screwball asked. "Bridge is a four-player game. after all."

"Yeah but who?" Thorax asked.

"How about the couple we first disguised as?" Screwball suggested. "Starlight and Sunburst. We're here in the Crystal Empire already anyway, so why not?"

"Well... they might be mad at us for imitating them and stealing their living quarters, for one." Thorax replied, despite knowing the question was rhetorical. "For two, we don't even know how to play Bridge, and I don't know if they could teach us anything. But yeah, let's do it!"

So the two lovers set out to Sunburst's house, where it all began. The room was just the same as it always was: Crystalline walls on all sides, a few windows here and there, a fireplace in the living room, and books. Thousands and thousands of books. Books about magic, mostly, but also a few subjects that seemed... less intellectual. Erotica, fairytales, erotic fairytales, and the like. There was Clover's Clever Affair by Starswirl the Bearded of all ponies. And Chancellor Pussycat's Smart Cookie by Charliehorse Sackville, and several others that Screwball had never heard of. The only one she recognised was Fifty Shades of Gray by human author E. L. James. She didn't know what the initials stood for, but knew that James was the name of a trickster. Not a specific one, but fictional tricksters in general were called Nicholas or James in human stories.

Thorax snapped Screwball back into reality. "Screwy?" He asked. "We've got company." Screwball turned around to see Starlight and Sunburst right behind her, watching her read the book titles. "You can 'study for the test' later, OK?" The three ponies all knew what Thorax meant, but didn't react at all... though Screwball had the hardest time suppressing her reaction.

"Right... so how do we play Bridge?" Screwball asked. "Cause if you don't know, we could play another game."

"It's complicated..." Sunburst answered. "It'd take forever to explain it."

"Yeah... something about 'bidding' the suits, and whatever." Starlight added. She didn't seem too excited to play Bridge either. That's a relief. Screwball thought. Maybe we can play a more fun game like Strip Poker.

"Can we play a different game?" Screwball asked, her "foal face" ready with her eyes extra swirly. "Pwetty pwease?"

"OK. What game did you have in mind, Screwy?" Thorax asked. "You suggested Bridge in the first place, so you should get to choose the substitute game."

"I was thinking... Strip Poker." Screwball said, with fake shyness in her voice. "Since we know each other so well... OK?"

The other three just laughed, but agreed to play Strip Poker with Screwball. Screwball's first hand was a Two of Hearts and a Seven of Clubs, the worst possible hand... so she made her fur coat disappear with her chaos magic. She was still pinkish, but no longer the cotton-candy shade of pink that her fur was. Thorax got a low hand too, so he molted... strangely enough, he appeared as he did before defeating Chrysalis: black-scaled with old-style Changeling wings and no antlers. Screwball blushed.

Starlight and Sunburst both got a tie: two Royal Flushes (Hearts for Starlight and Spades for Sunburst) but they thought stripping would be fun so they stripped anyway, even though they won and only the losers were supposed to. The four of them were now all completely nude, even nuder than they normally are, being citizens of Equestria.

Screwball made a move on Sunburst, and Starlight retaliated by stealing Thorax. They exchanged intimate touches... and then they traded back to their original partners. It was weird, freaky, nasty, and beautiful at the same time... that little game of theirs turned into a full-blown foursome. Starlight licked Sunburst's tail, while Screwball sucked his cock. Thorax was the least involved, just being licked by Screwball on occasion. Screwball, so glad she suggested the game of Strip Poker, moaned pleasurably, though it was hard to tell with her licking drowning out the sound.

"This was the best game I ever played." Screwball remarked.

"Me too." the other three replied in unison.
