It was a beautiful summer day in Ponyville, the kind of day perfect for simply lazing about and doing nothing. And on this lazy summer day, Discord, along with the rest of the mane 6, were sitting together at an outdoor restaurant, trying to think up of something interesting to do. All around, the group offered up different ideas as to what to do. Applejack suggested some summer cleaning, to which only Twilight, Fluttershy, and Rarity seemed interesting in doing. Twilight suggested that they do some light reading. And Rainbow Dash suggested that they compete with one another in a series of sports. But, no one seemed all that interested in doing any of the suggested activities. That is until Discord suggested that they play a little game of Dare, in which they'd go around daring one another into doing different activities. It would start with one person being dared, and if they completed the dare, they'd choose who to dare next and what dare they'd have that pony do. The gang agreed that it would be an interesting game and decided to play. And, since he was the first to suggest it, Discord would be the first to fulfill a dare.
"Okay, Discord, we dare you,....to," said rainbow, then she whispered something into Discord's ear, he cringed
"You're joking," he said
"Nope, either that or you get turned into a chicken for being one," said Rainbow smirking
"Fine", said Discord, he snapped his fingers and shrunk to the size of a chipmunk
the girls burst out laughing
"Hey short-fry, want some ketchup with that burger?" asked Rainbow laughing
"I HATE THIS DARE!!!" shouted Discord, but he just sounded like a chipmunk with a stuttering problem
"Aw, Discord your SO cute," cooed Fluttershy, she picked him up into a hug "I just want to SNUGGLE you"
Discord then thought to himself I guess being small has its advantages
"Ha!!!, yer a plushie" teased Applejack
Discord snapped his fingers and returned back to normal size
"Actually, I have an idea," said Discord, he then snapped his fingers, and out of nowhere, appeared a pony
it was a mare, she had a unicorn horn, AND a pair of wings, she had a bright fuschia pink coat, and she had a pretty red mane, she had light blue eyes, she wore a golden necklace with a violet red jewel, she golden leg rings with red jewels, she had a pink bow at the back of her head, she had golden shoes, and her eyes were shaped like Fluttershy's.
Pinkie pie gasped
"AN ALICORN PRINCESS!!!" she bowed along with the others except for Discord, the pony looked absolutely confused
"Ummm,.......where am I?" she asked after a little while, then she saw Fluttershy and her eyes lit up
"FLUTTERSHY, IT'S REALLY YOU" she exclaimed, running over to the pegasus and giving her a big hug, now it was Fluttershy's turn to be confused, why was a princess hugging her?
"Um,....who are you?" she asked, the mare finally got to her senses and got off of the pegasus
"I'm really sorry,......but can anypony tell me why I'm here?"
"I summoned you here," said Discord with a smirk
"Discord?" the mare asked
"The one and only, tell me, does my fame proceed me?"
the mare laughed 'HA!!! You wish!!!but anyways I'm not an alicorn princess"
the others, except for Discord gasped
"Look" explained the pony, hoping that her OC story would make sense here "I was supposed to be born a unicorn, but I was born with these wings, the doctor said I would never be able to use them, but it turned out that I could fly, AND use magic"
"OH," said the others in unison
"Anyways, my name is Rose, Red Rose"
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Rose,......but Discord, why did you summon her here?" asked Twilight skeptically
Discord smirked
"Well, I saw that the young mare was having a bit of trouble trying to write a story, so I was thinking, that since everypony finds these dare SOOO funny, that maybe she could write a DARE series"
Red Rose's face lit up like a jack-o-lantern
"It's PERFECT" she exclaimed
the others looked like they were trying to figure out how to understand politics, what was a dare series?
"What on earth is a DARE series?" asked Rarity
"Well, it's where somepony dares another pony to do something and they can't refuse, it's something that is often done for comedy, but it could often also be done for romance"
"Romance?" asked Fluttershy
"Yup" answered Red Rose looking at Discord with a smirk, Discord went slightly red, but the others didn't notice
"Sounds interestin," said Applejack
"Oh, believe me, it IS," Rose said slyly "But if I'm going to do this, I'm going to need some equipment," she said to Discord, who winked and snapped his fingers, Rose disappeared
"Where did she go?" asked Twilight
"To her cottage" Discord answered casually ----------------------------------------------- Redrose was in her seat, everything was set up, she then started typing;

"I dare Fluttershy to befriend a Tyrannosaurus Rex without using her stare"
"WHAT!?" exclaimed Fluttershy "You mean it?!"
Red rose nodded
"B-But,.....I've already faced a Dragon,...... now I have to face a dinosaur?"
"I'm sorry Fluttershy, but you know the rules, you can turn down a dare," said Red rose putting a hoof on her shoulder
Fluttershy sighed "O-Okay,......I will try"
"But how?" asked Red Rose, "They've gone extinct YEARS ago"
"I can help with that," said a voice, the two mares turned around, they saw a brown earth-pony stallion, it was doctor Whooves
"Oh, hi,....it's a good thing my sister isn't here otherwise she'd be going crazy fangirl on me," said Red Rose walking towards the timelord
"Yes, well.....I couldn't help but overhear your little dilemma, and since I'm feeling rather helpful today, I think I could let you use my time machine" the doctor
"Do you have a sonic screwdriver?" asked Red Rose
"Ah yes,...one of my most prized possessions, but why do you need it?" he asked holding it out
Red Rose took the Sonic Screwdriver, summoned a camera, and took a picture of it, she then returned it to him
"Anyways, we should probably get going," said Fluttershy wanting to get this over with
"Right then, follow me" Doctor Whooves started trotting towards his Tardis, the mares following. ------------------------------------------------ "Just like in the show, small on the outside, huge on the inside" muttered Rose
"This really a Time machine?" asked Fluttershy
"Indeed my friend, I go many places with it, but for once, perhaps I should take the day off"
Red Rose nodded, Doctor Whooves went to the control Panel and made sure that it would take them to prehistoric times.
"Right then, if you ladies will allow me to start it, then you can be on your way, use this walkie talkie so I know when to send you back" he said handing them a walkie talkie, he started it, and before the two girls knew it, they were in dinosaur times. -------------------------------------------------- "WOW, I never really was interested in this Tardis, but that was SICK" exclaimed Red Rose trotting out of the box
"You could say that again," said Fluttershy drowsily, walking out of the tardis clumsily, she looked a little green
"Are you okay?" asked Rose
"I'm fine," said Fluttershy "Now we just have to find a T-Rex"
they heard a low roar, they turned their heads slowly, they had just woke up a T-Rex from his nap
"Nows your chance," said, Red Rose
Fluttershy nervously walked up to the T-Rex, who looked at her
"Um.......hello,....a-are you tired?" she asked quietly, the Dinosaur yawned, blowing the pegasus back swiftly.
"I guess that answers my question," said Fluttershy, getting up and brushing herself off
"Come on,....you can do it" whispered Rose encouragingly, Fluttershy walked up to him again
"Um,.....I'm sorry if my friend and I woke you up from your nap but,....."
"Look, lady, what do you want?All I want to do is take my nap here" said the dinosaur groggily lifting his head
"I-I'm really sorry sir, but if you would be so kind and let me explain, I would gladly let you get back to your nap"
"okay, but make it quick, I'm only giving you a little time," he said
"Yes well, you see I was-" Fluttershy started, but the dinosaur interrupted her
"Okay, your time is up, now please go away," said the dinosaur lying back down
"Look, all I want to do is befriend you then I can go, okay?" asked Fluttershy
"Ugh, FINE, were friends, just let me sleep, PLEASE," said the dinosaur grumpily
Fluttershy smiled and walked back into the tardis, with Red Rose following her, Red Rose then used the walkie Talkie and told the Doctor to bring them back, the machine then started
"Well, that's dare number two done," said Rose
"I'm just glad I finished it, I was terrified" replied Fluttershy, Red rose and FLuttershy walked back into the tardis, and contacted Doctor Whooves, they then stepped out of the tardis as soon as a door opened, Red Rose teleported herself home, and started writing the next chapter.
"WHAT!!!??? I can't do THAT!!! She'll hate me for life" said Spike looking worried
"Come ON Spike, you've kept this from her for SEVEN years!!!" said Red Rose excitedly
"Really? It couldn't have been THAT long"
"Actually, I've been keeping track," said Red Rose holding up a calendar
"Oh,....." said Spike
Red Rose put a hoof on his shoulder
"It's doing the right thing"
"I know,......but what if she never talks to me again?"
"Well,.....if she doesn't,......maybe she just not the one for you"
Spike sighed "That's what I'm afraid of"
"Are you sure you're ready for this? I mean I know that it's against the rules to refuse the dare, but considering the circumstances, I could-"
"No," said Spike firmly holding up a claw "its been long enough, its time I get it off my chest, and be the big guy here"
Red Rose smiled and hoofed him a bouquet of Roses
"I'm proud of you Spike,....good luck" the mare then teleported Spike to Rarity's door. ----------------------------- Spike Took a deep breath and knocked on the door, Rarity opened it
"Oh,.....Spike,....what a pleasant surprise" she said smiling then she frowned "My, you look tense"
"H-Hi Rarity" stuttered Spike nervously "M-May I come in?"
"Oh, of course, make yourself at home," she said opening the door wider, she and Spike walked in
"I got these for you," said Spike holding out the bouquet, Rarity gasped
"SPIKEY-WIKIE, their gorgeous, thank you EVER so much!!! " she exclaimed picking him up in a hug
"No problem.....Rarity? there's something I need to tell you"
"Anything Spike," said Rarity setting him down
"Rarity,......I think you're beautiful,.....even more, beautiful than a gem,.....but I also think you're the most generous mare to exist, you have a pure heart of gold......Rarity,.....I've always had a crush on you,.....I never told you because I thought you wouldn't feel the same way about me, that's why I did all those things for you,.......I love you Rarity"
Rarity looked at him with wide eyes, there was an awkward silence between them until Rarity asked
"H-how long have you felt this way?"
"Ever since I first met you, when Twilight first came to ponyville" said Spike, there were tears in his eyes, he was certain he already knew the answer
"...........Spike" Rarity uttered softly
Spike then ran out of the shop slamming the door behind him Rarity just sat she couldn't believe it, this was how he truely felt.....this whole time.
I dare Rarity to wear something of a fashion disaster
"GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE!!! shouted Rarity in anger, with tears in her eyes
"I-I'm sorry Rarity," said Rose,
"I-I'm so sorry Darling,.....I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!" she cried out her fainting couch covered in mascara
"R-RARITY, Y-Your fainting couch!!"
"Oh PLEASE, that's the LEAST of my worries at the moment, my Emotions are so twisted up, I don't know if I can EVER look Spikie-Wikiey in the eyes AGAIN"
"But Rarity,....you know the rules,.....you can't turn down the dare, you have to leave"
"OH THIS DARE THIS, THIS DARE THAT, HONESTLY, IS YOUR STUPID LITTLE DARE SERIES ALL YOU CAN THINK ABOUT?"
Redrose jumped back in Appalment, Rarity had just touched a nerve
"........Rarity" Red Rose uttered softly
"UGH, JUST GO AWAY, AND YOU BETTER DO IT NOW, I MAYBE A LADY, BUT AT TIMES LIKE THIS, I DONT MIND GETTING MY HOOVES DIRTY"
Red Rose's bottom lip trembled, she slowly walked out the door, Rarity looked back and sighed, whatever she was turning into was not pretty,inside, or out.
"Discord, I dare you to kiss Fluttershy right on the lips, no hesitation"
"No problem, too easy," said Discord filing his claws with gummy
"Really?" asked Red Rose surprised
"Yes not a-WAIT WHAT?" he shouted frantically his cheeks were redder than the apples on Applejacks cutie mark
"You heard me," said Red Rose smirking
"THIS IS WORST THAN MY LAST DARE"
"Well, this was all YOUR IDEA, so technically, you did this to yourself"
Discord looked like he was about to reply, but nothing came out, his ears drooped
"Fine" he nervously snapped his fingers and disappeared. ------------------------------------ Fluttershy, I dare you to go up to Discord and say 'Hey, want a good time tonight?' and bat her eyelashes
Fluttershy fainted, when she awoke she turned a brilliant shade of crimson shouted "WHAT?!"
"That's what the dare says," said Red Rose trying not to freak out
"B-But I CANT, I-I mean, don't get me wrong, I-I like him a lot, but,......I don't know if I like him like THAT"
Red Rose successfully hid her fangirling and said
"Well, I'm Sorry Fluttershy but you know the rules"
Fluttershy sighed, still red, and said
"Fine,......I'll do it, but you need to give me lessons"
Red Rose nodded --------------------------------- Spike sat on a rock, he felt sad, he just knew that Rarity would never return his feelings, she was too perfect for that, suddenly his head shot up as he heard a voice say his name
"Spike? Ya okay?"
It was Applejack, she looked down-trodden
"Oh, hey A.J,.....I'm fine"
"Ya sure? Ya can tell me anything sugarcube "
Spike sighed and said "I finally told Rarity how I really feel, but,.....I JUST KNOW that she doesn't love me back" suddenly he looked at her
"Why are you so sad?"
"Oh,......well,.....Carmel broke up with meh"
"Oh,.....sorry"
"It's fine,....."
they both sighed
"It didn't matter much ta meh, but,......what I really want is,..."Applejack began
"True love," they said in unison, they turned red and looked at each other, they both laughed slightly
Applejack got up "Thanks for th' talk sugar, Ah feel ah lot better"
"Likewise," said spike "Bye"
"Bye," Applejack said, she then started trotting off down the trail, leaving an emotion-confused Spike behind. ----------------------------------------- Discord appeared in front of Fluttershy's door, heat in his cheeks, he knocked on the door
Fluttershy answered it
"O-Oh, D-Discord,... what a nice surprise,....c-come in," she said opening the door for her friend to walk in
"good afternoon Fluttershy,......um...there's something I need to do"
"What is it?" she asked
"I will tell you later, could you please make some tea?"
"S-Sure," said Fluttershy, she then flew into the kitchen
Discord sat down, How was he going to do this? he did like her,....but he didn't think he was ready, Fluttershy then came out of the kitchen and sat down
"What do you need to do?" she asked
"Well, you have to promise not to be mad," said Discord rubbing the back of his neck
"Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye, but why would I be ma-?"
She was interrupted by Discord, he had his lips against hers, Fluttershy's eyes widened while her pupils shrank, HE.WAS.KISSING.HER. she turned so red it looked like her head was about to explode, he kissed her for a full minute, then he broke it, he was very red.
"I-I have to use the bathroom," said Fluttershy, as she ran upstairs
Once she was out of sight Discord banged his head against the wall, "what has he done?" ------------------------------------- about ten minutes later, Fluttershy came down, she was looking up at him, Discord braced himself for the scolding, but instead, she looked him in the eyes, she batted them and asked
"Hey, want a good time tonight?"
Discord blushed a deep crimson red, his expression dilated, She wanted,.....a date? A pegasus, THIS shy, was asking HIM, on a date? Fluttershy then cowered and said "I'm SO SORRY, IT WAS A DARE"
"Really?"
Fluttershy nodded shyly
"Well what I did earlier was also a dare," said Discord sighing in relief that Fluttershy hadn't lost her marbles of who she really was
"Oh,....okay,...well,...we can still be friends,...right?" asked Fluttershy
Discord nodded, half relieved and half angry,....he had just been friend-zoned.
"Fluttershy, you HAVE to answer this. The lives of kittens depend on it. Who's your crush?"
"O-Oh,.....w-well,..... I've been told that a lot of stallions like me,.....but,.....honestly, I don't have one,....but I'm sure I'll find somepony soon" she said, her face a shade of crimson, suddenly something came bursting through the door
"FLUTTERSHY!!!" shouted Dash, she then rushed to her feet and put her two hooves in a begging position
"HELP MEEEEE" cried Rainbow
"What's the matter?" asked Fluttershy
"I-I-I'VE BEEN GROUNDED"
at first Fluttershy said nothing, then she said "Um,....okay?"
"NOT LIKE THAT" shouted Dash, then, a lot like Rarity would, Rainbow fainted on Fluttershy's couch
"I HAVE TO GO A WHOLE WEEK WITHOUT FLYING!!!" rainbow then burst into dramatic tears
Fluttershy went to the kitchen and got a tub of strawberry ice oats and gave it to rainbow dash, along with a spoon, Rainbow took several enormous bites
"Now, tell me, why did you come to me? You know I can't change the rules of the dare series"
"BECAUSE I NEED YOU TO TEACH ME HOW TO SURVIVE A WEEK WITHOUT FLYING, and could I stay with you? MY house IS in the sky after all"
"I'll try, and of course you can, I'll be happy to let you stay," said Fluttershy smiling
"Thanks, flutters," said Rainbow "Can I please keep the strawberry ice oats?"
"Me? Me, the master of chaos, have a CRUSH? Why would I-?"
"He's right, he doesn't have a crush," said Twilight, Discord looked at her, surprised
"He's in love," said Twilight
Discord let out a small yelp of alarm, Discord laughed frantically
"Don't listen to her, she's a bit loopy, you know, the stress of being a princess, and trying to be a good friend, it can really make you delirious, it- it's-"
"It's Fluttershy," said Twilight
Discord blushed a bright crimson
"I do NOT, why would I have a crush on the most beautiful mare in Equestria? besides, I don't deserve her, she's too special"
Twilight giggled, "I only know what I see, a love-struck draconequus in denial"
Discord then thought of something
"Look at the Princess who's talking"
Twilight then turned a bright red
"The oh-so-SPECIAL princess of friendship is in love with a guard from the crystal empire, Flash Sentry, very interesting, it's such a shame that they never get enough time together, not to mention how DIFFICULT it must be since things are always so AWKWARD between them, what with the constant blush that always goes on and the fact that they always seem to just BUMP into each other, rather EMBARRASSING if you ask me"
Twilight backed away
"T-That's none of your-"
"What? It's what Red Rose asked for, so I'm only giving the answer, now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to be laughing myself HORSE for the next hour" he snapped his fingers and disappeared laughing loudly, once he disappeared Twilight stood there, then she heard Spike walk into the room
"Spike, pack your things, We're going to the crystal empire"
