Prolouge: Moondancer's Dilemma

Moondancer was studying late in the afternoon in the Canterlot library. She had spell books piled all over her desk with quills and parchment scattered equally on the other side. Her red and purple mane was frizzled outward in all directions and her eyelids were drooping from exhaustion. The spell she had been researching on was of great importance to her and she now had to battle against her own drowsiness to master it.

She drearily looked up at a clock that hung above her head and gasped, shooting her eyes wide open. The time was now five o’ clock in the afternoon and she had promised to meet her other friends at Donut Joe’s shop. She yawned as she got up from the desk and stretched herself, gently smacking her lips as she got up from the chair and walked towards the door.

I should probably cancel my engagement. I’m sure my friends will understand. She thought as she began walking through the dimly lit hallways and bookshelves as she went to find Twilight to see how much progress she had made.

She wandered the halls for quite some time until she found where Twilight had been for the whole day, studying the same spell. However, she was nowhere to be seen and all her books had been put away.

“Twilight? Where are you?” Moondancer moaned as she began looking around for her friend. “You were supposed to help me study today!” She turned and walked down the hall to see Twilight walking towards her. “Oh. There you a—”

“Hey Moondancer! I figured out the age rejuvenation spell!” Twilight ran over to Moondancer with a spring in her step.

Moondancer sighed in relief and wiped some of the sweat off of her brow. “That’s great and all, Twilight, but we still need to test it.”

Twilight nodded. “Yes, but it's still only experimental. I don't know if I should just test it on a pony out of the blue like that.”

Moondancer looked at the clock and took a deep breath before walking taking a step forward. “Test it on me then.”

Twilight jumped backwards. “Wait, what?! Why would you want to volunteer so fast? Don’t you feel worried about what could happen?”

Moondancer continued, “I have to get going to meet up with our friends. Plus, I wasted your entire trip here in helping me. I think it's the least I can do.”

“What do you mean by that?” Twilight cocked a brow.

“I didn't even tell the rest of them you were coming. This spell is very important to me and my research on age rejuvenation and I’ve wasted too much time already.” She nodded. “I think for all of the stuff you’ve been through today, I should be the test subject.”

“Are you sure, Moondancer? I think I should test it on plants first just to be safe.” Twilight rubbed the back of her head.

“The report is due tomorrow, Twilight.” Moondancer smiled. “Besides, we need to meet our friends before they think we ditched them.”

Defeated, Twilight sighed and illuminated her horn. “Alright then, Moondancer. Just hold still for a second...”

Twilight’s horn lit up and a magical beam slammed against Moondancer’s head and caused spirals to appear in her eyes. Her head swivelled and wobbled before she fell unconscious and flopped onto her back. A blast of light emanated from where her friend once stood, blinding Twilight momentarily.

“Yes! Now I just need to test it to see if there aren’t any side effects...” Twilight rubbed her eyes and readjusted to the light to look around for Moondancer.

There by her feet, was a tiny yellow foal with barely a lock of purple and red for hair sitting before her. She had tiny velvet eyes which gawked at her while a smile began to form on her face. She flailed her tiny limbs, babbling as she looked up at Twilight.

“No… No!” Twilight looked down at Moondancer. “When I said that it would make you younger, I didn’t mean it like this! Not like a newborn foal!” Her eyes darted around the library as sweat began to dribble down her forehead. “Your friends are expecting you any minute! You can’t be seen like this!”

She materialised a diaper out of thin air and slipped the padded undergarment underneath Moondancer’s rump, sliding her tail perfectly through the hole on the back. Once that was done, she taped the tabs over her crotch and made sure that it was securely placed around her body by giving it a slight ruffle. The little foal began to whimper but Twilight hushed her and gently rocked her in her arms. Then she used a spell to conceal both of them from the rest of the world.

“This spell could be groundbreaking for us both, Moondancer. But I need to get you home so I can figure out how to change you back.” Twilight turned towards Moondancer who was now gathering up her mane and putting it in her tiny mouth. She couldn’t help but blush at how the foal gurgled while eating her own hair. “Alright, Twilight. You’ve got this. Don’t make it seem like you’re panicking. You’ve dealt with tougher spells than this. Everything should be fine...”

As they walked out into the sunset, Moondancer slowly began to wake up. After having to battle with her eyelids for the study session, she now opened them up effortlessly and saw that she was on Twilight’s back. She wanted to get off, but she heard a crinkling noise that sounded with every step Twilight took.

Moondancer looked down at the diaper that now cocooned her groin and nether regions. She raised a brow at the thing and wanted to make some sort of reaction to it, but all she could let out was a low and only barely audible coo. She gave it a gentle poke, hearing it crinkle once again. For some reason, wearing the diaper felt right for her. She didn’t feel like taking it off and was enamored with how comfortable she now felt.

The two of them walked up to Minuette, Twinkleshine, and Lemon Hearts at Donut Joe’s shop, seeing them all talking and laughing together with each other. Once they got close, Twilight cut off the spell and revealed herself, while also leaving Moondancer invisible so that the ponies wouldn’t see her and her diapered rump.

“Hi, Twilight!” The three ponies all chorused together.

“Hey, girls. Good to see you.” Twilight smiled and shook hooves with the three unicorns.

“So, was Moondancer able to come?” Lemon Hearts asked as she looked around.

Twilight jumped at those words and stared back at her rump, twitching the muscles in her forehead. ”Moondancer? Uh… Nope! haven’t seen her for hours.”

“Aww. We all had a fun day planned.” Minuette looked down at the ground briefly before staring right back up at Twilight.

Twinkleshine rolled her eyes. “She’s probably distracted with studying again. You know how she is, always wanting to learn.

“Hey. I’ve got an idea. Why don’t you come instead?” She slid towards Twilight.

Twilight simply rubbed the back of her head and blushed. “Well, I wouldn’t want to be a fourth wheel, if anything. But thank you for the offer anyway.”

“Ah, C’mon, Twilight. It’ll be so much fun!” Minuette squeaked and nodded. “We weren't able to go out the last time you came by.”

“Well, again, I must thank you for the offer, but I have to decline.” Twilight simply smiled back at the girls. “Something came up at the library and I don’t really want to be much of a bother.”

Moondancer turned her head from the diaper and looked over towards Twilight’s friends. She tilted her head and cooed once again as she gazed upon them. Despite the fact that her mind had been altered by Twilight’s spell, she still had a nagging suspicion that she recognized the ponies. As she looked at them, she unintentionally put her hoof into her mouth and began sucking on it.

“Hey, Twilight?” Lemon Hearts heard Moondancer sucking and walked closer towards her. “What’s that sound?”

Twilight jolted her head back towards Moondancer and began to sweat as she turned to the three mares. ”I don’t know, girls. But I think it’s coming from over there.” She pointed towards a nearby house where a pony was cleaning her clothes, wringing the towel out over a bucket. All of the ponies watched as Twilight used another spell to silence the noise.

“Oh. Alright then.” Minuette grinned once again and nodded. “That explains that.”

“So anyway, I thought we could go get something to eat.” Lemon Hearts chirped. “There’s this great new place that opened up on Restaurant Row recently.”

Twilight’s eyes shone at that remark. “While I did have other stuff I wanted to get done tonight, I’m sure that I could fit that in.”

“Great!” Minuette nearly bounced on the spot as she lead Twilight down the streets. “Come on, Twilight! Let’s go have some fun!”

Hang in there, Moondancer. Mama’s gonna have to be extra careful tonight… Twilight took one last look at Moondancer, who now had her entire hoof covered with saliva as she finally pulled it out of her mouth. She watched the infant-minded pony giggle and clap, spreading the slimy liquid onto her other hoof.

Soon, the five ponies were all in the shop, slurping away at bowls of white and grey soups. They calmly and quietly ate each spoonful delicately, so as not to ignite their throats or spill it on themselves. They were talking among each other about many different topics, most to do with the spells that they had learned and how much they had grown as friends since Twilight’s last visit to Canterlot.

As Twilight herself ate the soup, she had to be extra careful not to let the others know that Moondancer was quietly on her back. She often at times had to hide her spoon from the others as she brought it up to Moondancer’s mouth and put it in, so to make sure that she was eating her fill as well. Moondancer herself was constantly spitting up the excess soup and smearing it on Twilight's mane.

“So, you and Moondancer had plans already?” Twinkleshine asked after eating another spoonful.

“Yes. We were working on a spell to restore a pony’s youth, be it mentally or physically.” Twilight nodded and took another sip of the soup, proceeding to feed Moondancer once again. “While the spell turned out to be a success, she got really tired and decided to call it a day earlier than I had expected.”

“Yeah. I guess I can understand that.” Twinkleshine pivoted the spoon on the table for a short moment. “Overworking yourself can leave you quite tuckered out. I just hope she takes it easy tonight.”

“I’m sure she will.” Twilight secured Moondancer in place, as she was beginning to slide off of her back. “Moondancer’s a tough nut to crack. She’ll be back on her hooves by tomorrow morning.”

The ponies resumed eating their food, making sure that they took care when handling the tepid soups. Even though the temperature was beginning to diminish, it would still be enough to at least provoke a shock out of them if they spilt it. There were a few more topics of discussion that the ponies shared, with laughter following most of them.

After a long night of playing with her friends, Twilight and Minuette finally came up to Minuette’s house and walked through the door. The two of them climbed the stairs slowly and eventually walked into a simple bedroom with a bookcase on one side and a window on the other side.

Moondancer was still on Twilight’s back, sucking away on her hoof as she bobbed on her friend’s back. However, now her eyes were shut and she was fast asleep, deep within her own foalish thoughts.

Well, I’d say that everything worked out pretty well tonight, wouldn’t you say, Minuette?” Twilight asked, walking up to the bed and sliding Moondancer off onto it.

“Yeah.” Minuette let out a tiny chuckle. “Never knew that Lemon Hearts had moves like that.” She rubbed her hooves against the blue bedsheets and looked out the window. “It’s such a shame that Moondancer couldn’t come today. She would’ve had so much fun.”

“Oh, I think she was with us the whole night. Just in spirit.” Twilight nodded and slowly illuminated her horn.

“Whatever do you mean by—” Minuette let out a gasp as Twilight cut off the invisibility spell, revealing the diapered Moondancer fast asleep on the bed “—wha? Moondancer?! I thought you were back home!”

“Like I said earlier. Moondancer and I were experimenting with the age rejuvenation spell and I used it to turn her into a foal.” Twilight frowned at the sight on the bed.

Minuette looked at the sleeping Moondancer, chewing on her hoof as she snored, melting the mare’s heart all the way. “Aww… She’s adorable.” She gently patted the foal’s belly, feeling how soft her fur and skin as the back of her hoof ran over Moondancer’s body.

“The spell was supposed to make her lose certain aspects of age, like wrinkles and grey hair. In turn, it would also make her skin feel much softer.” Twilight gently sat down by the foal. “But I clearly messed the spell up and now she’s become a full-blown foal.”

“So, what we do?” Minuette tilted her head. “We can’t just leave her like a foal. I mean, granted, she is much cuter now, but she needs to grow up like everypony else.”

“I need to go back to the library and research the book again to see where I went wrong.” Twilight tipped her hoof. “In the meantime, somepony needs to keep an eye on her so that she doesn’t hurt herself.”

“Well… I can’t really take care of a foal yet.” Minuette shook her head and shrugged. “I don't even have any supplies or any experience with babies.”

“I'll pick you up some foal supplies tonight. Heck, I’ll even give you some lessons as well.” Twilight got up from the bed and walked up to the door. “Hopefully this should be just for today. I don’t want this whole foalification thing to be a long-term or permanent effect.”

“OK, Twilight. Just for you.” Minuette gave Moondancer a motherly gaze as she stroked the foal’s fur. “I guess a day with her won’t hurt.”

“Thank you so much for this, Minuette.” Twilight shook Minuette’s hoof and walked towards the door. “Oh! And before I forget, can you please keep this quiet? I'd rather not have everypony know she's turned into a foal.”

Minuette just gave a nod and curled up with Moondancer, holding her close to her chest as the foal gently grasped at her fur. Twilight simply smiled at the two of them, while proceeding to tiptoe out of the room, silently closing the door behind her.

Twilight walked up to Minuette’s house with a large sack full of foal supplies and furniture in tow. She opened the door slowly and placed a high chair in the kitchen then climbed the stairs, struggling to move the sack up the stairs as it rattled and banged against the wood.

Eventually, she peered into the room and smiled, seeing Minuette dozing with Moondancer underneath her belly. Twilight couldn’t help but smile as she came up to the sleeping unicorns and whispered, “Minuette?” into her ear.

Minuette sat up mumbling random and incoherent gibberish as her eyes twitched. She looked around and brushed her eyes, looking over at her friend. “Twilight? What are you doing here?”

“Sorry to disturb you, Minuette, but I got the foal stuff and I thought I could help you with caring for Moondancer by giving you some advice.”

Minuette sighed as she carefully got up and lifted Moondancer with her magic. As she took the foal into the air, she heard her whimper and then cry loudly. “Oh. There she goes again...” She brought the foal down to her arms and gently rocked her in a soothing and rhythmic fashion. As she moved her arms, she saw Moondancer’s cries fade away into a happy giggle as she reached up for her mother’s face.

“Hey, Minuette, let me see her for a bit.” Twilight walked over and looked at Moondancer’s tiny face, almost gasping with how young and infantile she was.

Minuette nodded and carried the foal into Twilight’s open embrace. She patted Moondancer’s diapered rump and felt how damp it was.

”Oh. Feels like Moondancer peed herself last night.” Twilight pulled her hoof from the soggy diaper.

Minuette giggled. “Did she really?”

Twilight nodded and her horn lit up, lifting items from the sack and placing them down onto the bed. She took out a giant purple padded mat, a package of diapers, a bottle of foal powder, and a tube of foal cream.

She sighed, looking down at Moondancer’s urine soaked through the diaper and turned it yellow. “The diaper I put on her earlier was one I made with magic, so it wasn’t that absorbant.”

“Wow. I didn’t know Moondancer was a messy foal too.” Minuette merely grinned at the sight as the smell hit her nose. “Ugh! But I hope it doesn’t happen too often. That smell is driving me crazy!”

Twilight took off the soaked garment and pulled it from underneath Moondancer’s rump. “I only did this a few times with Flurry Heart. It’s actually much easier than it looks.”

Minuette just nodded as Twilight continued wiping Moondancer’s bottom. “I didn’t realise she was wet. I’m sorry.”

”It’s okay,” Twilight replied. ”You didn’t have any diapers with you anyway. There was nothing you could’ve done about it.”

Once Moondancer was clean, she giggled and cooed at Twilight, babbling incoherently with a smile on her face.

“Aw... Who's the cute widdle moony? You are, yes you are!” Twilight playfully rubbed Moondancer’s belly. “Coochie-coochie-coo!”

The little foal giggled and started babbling rapidly as Twilight just smirked and continued playing with her belly. After it came to a stop, she was laughing so much that she barely even noticed that Twilight was still changing her. But when the cream was applied to her nether regions, she stopped laughing and began to sniffle, tears forming in her eyes.

“There’s a pacifier in the bag. Can you get it for me?” Twilight looked over to Minuette as she gently rubbed Moondancer’s face and wiped the tears from her eyes.

Minuette went into the bag and pulled out a large pink pacifier and slipped it into Moondancer’s mouth. She watched the foal bob it in her mouth and suckle on it contently before calming down, allowing Twilight to start applying foal powder over her rump.

“Wow. She calmed down in a snap.” Minuette watched Twilight put a diaper around Moondancer without any more resistance. “I guess that’s why they call them pacifiers, huh?”

“Yes, but they’re not always reliable on an energetic and anxious foal like her.” Twilight finally finished applying the diaper and handed Moondancer back to Minuette, who simply giggled as she cradled her in her hooves. “But on the plus side, her skin feels so soft. It’s like holding onto a pillow.”

”I'm so jealous. You should turn me into a foal too.” Minuette looked down at Moondancer and gently tousled her mane. “I bet I would look so cute!”

Twilight raised a brow at Minuette and turned away. “Not on your life. At least not until I’ve worked out all of the kinks.”

Twilight then turned back to the mare’s bed and took out a purple foal blanket and covered Moondancer in it, rubbing her gently as she flailed around.

Twilight then took some more stuff out of the giant bag. Stuff like formula foal bottles, foal food, rubber spoons, rattles, plushies, extra pacifiers, and a foal book with a light blue back and lots of stickers on it.

“That should be enough foal supplies to last for a few days.” Twilight took the sack and scattered some toys all over the ground. “I even placed a high chair downstairs.”

”Hopefully Moondancer will be back to normal by then.” Minuette looked down at all of the foal toys strewn across the floor.

“Yes.” Twilight took out a bottle of pills and laid them down on the bedside table.

“Wait. Is that medication?” Minuette cocked a brow at the sight of the pill bottle.

“Well, yes and no. They’re lactation pills.” Twilight slid her hoof over the label on the front of the bottle.

“Isn't that a bit too much?” Minuette asked.

“I only got them just in case Moondancer can’t drink the formula.” Twilight looked over at the foal again. “If that does happen, she’ll need some form of nourishment.”

Minuette took them off of the table and examined it from all angles. ”Alright. But I probably won’t even need these, though.”

“It’s just a precaution.” Twilight shook her head. “You can get rid of those if she’s healthy.”

Minuette simply gave another smile to her friend. “Thank you, Twilight. This must’ve cost you quite a few Bits.”

”No. And it should be me thanking you.” Twilight smiled back at Minuette. “Foals are cute, but they can also be a bit of a hoofful at times. This is the least I can do.”

“Do you think there's a cure?” Minuette’s grin whittled away as she asked Twilight.

“I bet there is.” Twilight looked at the slumbering foal, calmly sucking her pacifier. “But she is really adorable like this, isn't she?” She walked up to Moondancer and whispered into her ears. “I still feel so terrible for what happened. You just hang in there, Moondancer. I’m going to find a cure.” She kissed her on the forehead as she looked up at Minuette, who blushed at the sight.

Twilight looked up at Minuette and sighed. “Well, I’m going to go back to studying. Then, I’m going to deliver a report to Celestia on the spell as well. So it's going to be a long night for me.”

Minuette hugged Twilight. “I know you’ll find a cure. You’re, like, the smartest pony ever!”

“Thank you.” Twilight nodded “And I know you’ll be an excellent foalsitter. Just be patient with her and shower her with love and care and you should be fine.”

“Okay, Twilight.” She let go of Twilight and walked her over to the door.

Twilight gave Moondancer a loving gaze and went downstairs as the tired Minuette slipped into her bed and curled up next to the sleeping foal. “Hopefully there won’t be any more interruptions.”

Moondancer just gave her pacifier a few satisfied suckles as Minuette drifted off to sleep once more.

Moondancer was awake again as she looked at the mare that has been caring for her for the past few hours. She lightly kicked her legs, feeling that her diaper was dry and clean. Satisfied, she looked up and around at the mare's face and realised that she wanted something from her. However, she couldn’t put a name on it.

She tried to stand up on her hooves but her tiny flabby legs gave out and she fell back into the sea of bedsheett and looked up to see she was still far from the big pony’s face. She then tried standing with only her two front legs and kicked her back legs behind her. She giggled, seeing she was now moving and crawled up to the big pony’s face. She was making weird noises through her nose and she touched it, feeling how soft it was.

Moondancer crawled across the bed and tried climbing up onto Minuette’s face to try and get at her mane, but that effort was halted when Minuette snored loudly, causing Moondancer to jump off of her. She bounced and rolled on the bed, wetting herself as she landed, causing her to wail at the top of her voice.

Minuette woke for what was the tenth time that night with her eyes groggy and bags hanging down from both of them. She found her foal was screaming once more and lifted her into her magic while looking into her eyes.

“Hey... What’s wrong now?” She asked, touching Moondancer’s rump. She groaned at the touch and laid her down on the changing mat again. “C’mon, Moondancer, this is like your third diaper already.”

Minuette quickly pulled Moondancer out of the sodden diaper and hastily changed her into a new one, powdering her haunches and wiping her bottom clean as she slipped her into the clean white padded undergaments. She then floated the foal into her embrace and tickled her face, replacing the cries with laughter.

Moondancer reached up for Minuette, babbling once again as she heard her stomach rumbling. She stared at the mare bug-eyed and pointed down to her belly, speaking in foal talk once again.

“Alright, then. Let’s get you something to eat…” Minuette’s enthusiasm was slowly withering away as she carried Moondancer down the stairs.

In her small kitchen, a few foal bottles lay empty along with formula powder covering her counter. Minuette quickly fixed a foal bottle and went back to her living room where she sat on a couch and cradled Moondancer into her forelegs and placed the bottle into her grasp, watching her drink her fill autonomously.

Minuette watched her for a while, then turned her head to the window where she saw the sun rise and hit her eyes with the light.”It’s funny, really. I wanted to hang out with you all night, but not like this.”

Moondancer just suckled her bottle some more while gazing up at her. Then curled up into her embrace, hugging her new mother tight.

Minuette laughed. “Alright, well I have to admit it wasn’t all that bad.”

She then lifted the foal back onto her back and quietly carried her up the stairs and back into bed. As she pulled the covers over the two of them, she yawned and waved her hoof over her mouth. “Hopefully I can get a few more hours of sleep...”

The foal just snorted, spouting snot all over the bed as she slowly closed her eyes again.

Minuette gagged at the sight and levitated a napkin over to where the snot was, wiped it all up, rolled it into a ball, and threw the the ball into the bin. “You cease to amaze, Moondancer.”

Twilight, with heavy eyelids and a hunched back sat down in Celestia’s chamber. The two of them both had piping cups of coffee in front of them and were beguiled by the alluring scent.

“So, I’m guessing you both had a long night?” Celestia took a small sip of her coffee as she looked over at her former student.

“Well, we figured out what I did, but now we can’t figure out how to reverse it.” Twilight’s eyes shifted around as she took a drink of her coffee.

”Please tell me everything, Twilight.” Celestia raised a brow at Twilight. “Maybe I can help you and Moondancer. I heard you say she’s a foal now, correct?”

Twilight mumbled, “Don’t remind me.” She heard Celestia giggle as she began to explain, “Moondancer was researching a very delicate beauty spell that she found. She knew she couldn’t cast it on her own so she asked me to help her and I did. We studied non-stop this whole week only to take breaks to eat and sleep.”

”Oh, so you came to Canterlot to help her?” Celestia smiled and blew the steam lifting off of her coffee. “It’s so good to know that you travelled all that way just to help a friend in need.”

“Anyway, I discovered the spell and memorized every word, right down to the author’s notes at the end.” Twilight brushed down her chest. “Then when I put my books away, I told Moondancer we should test it first.”

Celestia gazed at her student thoughtfully as she sipped her coffee. ”So, you tested it on your friend?”

”I know I shouldn't have. It was a rookie mistake. But Moondancer also made plans that evening as she thought we would've finished the spell by then so she insisted I use it on her.” Twilight took another drink of the coffee.

“And that’s when she became a foal?” Celestia opened her left eye wider.

“Precisely.” Twilight nodded gently. “Don't worry about it. Last night, I gave her to Minuette to look after.”

Celestia put down her drink. ”I'm also guessing you two told no other pony of what happened?”

Twilight shook her head. “I thought it best we kept this quiet. I’d rather not cause a panic.”

Celestia merely hummed a single note. ”Okay. I see how things got out of hoof. So you were researching a cure correct?”

Twilight put the cup to her lips and nursed another sip of the coffee. ”Yes, Princess Celestia. I did and the spell I used was oversaturated with regressive energy. I had put too much into it, just as I had expected.” She put her coffee down on the coaster. “It was a higher level spell than usual. I looked up a lot on age regression that I forgot to balance it out with the other key elements.”

“So… without a cure, how long will Moondancer stay a foal?” Celestia asked

”Judging from how much power was put into it, I estimate Moondancer will be a foal for a month without a cure.” She stood up from the chair and walked up to her. “In fact, I was hoping you could help me with this.”

”I would, Twilight, but I believe you know this all too-well.” Celestia crossed her forelegs. “Most age spells are highly advanced and are still not completely recorded. If this is an accident, then I can't cure her without knowing which one you used.” She looked out of the nearby window to the city of Canterlot. “Hitting her with another spell could alter her age drastically and may even be permanent.”

Twilight merely gulped and bowed. ”Thank you, Celestia. But in the meantime, what should I do?” Her lips quivered. “I don’t think Minuette should hold Moondancer for an entire month. She’s had no experience with handling foals before.”

”That’s up to Minuette to decide.” Celestia looked back at Twilight. “I also suggest that you continue your research if you can find a way to reverse the spell earlier.” She gave off a motherly smile at her friend. ”I’m sure you can resolve things much quicker.”

Twilight’s legs twitched. ”R-right. But I was hoping to have this done by today.”

”It’s perfectly alright, Twilight.” Celestia tousled Twilight’s mane. “I also suggest you stay around Canterlot for a while. You're the one who cast it and despite this being an accident, this may be even more beneficial in studying magic then you and Moondancer may have thought.” She lifted Twilight’s chin. “In fact, you may have just created a new spell.”

Twilight chuckled meekly. ”Yes, but I’d rather not think that as the reason for her staying as a foal.” She got up and bowed her head again. ”Thank you for the coffee and advice, Princess Celestia.”

“Of course, Twilight.” Celestia lifted the mugs away and watched Twilight waltz out of the door. Once she had left, a tiny little smirk crossed her face.“Moondancer as a foal? This should be interesting...”

Later that same morning, Twilight entered Minuette’s home to see a rather peculiar sight. Moondancer was now covered in foal food, smearing it all over the walls and furniture. Minuette was frankly cleaning everything up with a wet wipe with a vigorous snarl on her face. She pulled herself from the work when she saw Twilight walk up to her.

”Oh, Twilight! Thank Celestia…” She brushed some sweat off of her forehead. “You found a cure, right?” She glared Moondancer, who raised her hooves and shoved them in her mouth and began to suck them dry. ”Oh no. Don’t act all cute, little miss messy. You’re turning back to an adult.”

Twilight walked up to Minuette and drooped her ears “Minuette. I couldn’t find a cure anywhere.”

Minuette tired eyes fell as her heart sank. “Oh,” was all she could say as she picked Moondancer up.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn't have left her with you.” Twilight looked at all of the remaining mess.

Minuette walked back to her. ”No. Everything's fine, really. It's just a bit more hectic than I thought.”

“I understand, but I also learned that without a cure, she could be a foal for at least a month.” Twilight’s eyes were fixated on Moondancer.

“A month?!” Minuette gasped and almost dropped Moondancer as she jumped backwards.

“It’s alright. You don't have to care for her anymore if you don’t want to.” Twilight took Moondancer with her own magic. “I'm sure I can find another pony to care for her. I may even have to go find her parents.”

Minuette watched Moondancer suck her right hoof once again, cooing as the saliva dribbled down her leg.

“You know what, Twilight? Despite the fact that she’s a little troublemaker, I would love to care for her.” She took back Moondancer and put her on her back.

“Really?” Twilight saw the mess once more. “From the looks of things, she must’ve been the hardest foal ever...”

“Yeah. About that… I think I’ll need more foal stuff.” She rubbed the back of her head. “She went through five diapers today.”

Twilight eyed the foal, leaning close to her face. ”I didn’t expect you to be such a messy foal, Moondancer.”

Moondancer kicked Minuette’s back with her miniscule legs while laughing maniacally at both ponies.

“As for the supplies, I'll go out and restock for you.” Twilight smiled at Minuette and walked towards the door. “Then, I’ll be studying to see if I can get her back to normal sooner.”

“Alright. But before you go, can you help me out with this place?” Minuette pointed to the foal food stains that were now beginning to set. “She was messier than I thought she’d be.”

”Sure.” Twilight warmly smiled at Minuette and took the wet wipes from the kitchen and walked towards the nearest stain. “Let’s get this place cleaned up, shall we?”

Twilight sat with Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts at a table outside of the restaurant that they had dined at the night Moondancer became a foal.. She put down a cup of steaming tea and placed her elbows on the table.

“And that’s everything that’s happened up until now,” said Twilight. “Minuette’s busy caring for Moondancer and I’m supporting both of them in any way I can.”

Twinkleshine blinked twice.”But why didn’t you tell us about her earlier? We’d have swooped in to help right away!”

“I didn’t want everypony to know what happened there and then.” Twilight shook her head and tipped her hoof. “I put an invisibility spell on her that night just in case I could get her back to normal. But, as it turns out, reversing an age-regression spell is much harder than it looks. My horn’s practically been burnt out multiple times trying to get it right.” She looked up and gave it a gentle rub.

“It’s fine, Twilight. Don’t stress yourself too much.” Lemon Hearts walked over to Twilight and wrapped her hoof around her friend’s body. “Now how about we go help her? I’m sure Minuette never cared for a foal in her life.”

”Oh…” Twilight was about to say something else, but Lemon Hearts’ smile was all that she needed. “You just read my mind. Thank you.”

“It’s no problem, Twilight.” Lemon Hearts gave her a pat on the back and saw her stand up. “And besides, I think that now Moondancer is a foal we’ll spend so much more time with her.”

“Thank you again. I’ve still got a lot of research to do for the reverse spell, so any extra hooves helping Moondancer out are greatly appreciated.” Twilight walked away from the table, leading her friends towards Minuette’s house.

“You can count on us, Twilight.” Twinkleshine gave her a small salute. “Trust us; we’re not going to waste this opportunity.”

Minuette was trying to change Moondancer in her house, but she was now being bombarded with everything in the room. She saw the auras appear around certain toys and other foal clothes before they were launched straight towards her.

“Moondancer! C’mon! What did I ever do to you?” Minuette tried to pry an answer as she swerved out of the way of another projectile, but only watched Moondancer clap her hooves and giggle maniacally.

Lemon Hearts, and Twinkleshine opened the door and walked inside, barely getting out of the way of a thrown teddy bear once they were in the room. They looked over at Moondancer and her wet diaper sagging between her legs before the foal hurled a number of building blocks at the group.

“Twinkleshine! Lemon Hearts! Thank Celestia you’re here!” Twinkleshine used her magic to deflect another one of the toys. “Do you girls can find something to calm Moondancer down? She’s been acting like this for ten minutes!”

The girls nodded and looked around the room, ducking to avoid the next onslaught of baby toys and blankets. After they were out of Moondancer’s sight, they checked the floor for anything that would be able to calm down the foal

Eventually, Lemon Hearts found a pacifier and quickly slipped it into Moondancer’s mouth. She suckled it for a few moments with both mares looking at the foal with pleading eyes. To their relief, Moondancer began to close her eyes and suck slower and slower, falling into a more relaxed state.

“There we go.” Lemon Hearts picked the quiet Moondancer up and carried her off to the changing table. “Pacifiers work every time. Foals just can’t seem to stop sucking on them these days.”

“Thank you, Lemon.” Minuette brushed her hair back to the way she usually styled it and placed a hoof on Lemon Hearts’ chest. “I don’t know what I would’ve done without you. It looks like caring for a kid’s harder than I thought…”

“It’s no big deal when you’ve got all of us helping you out.” Twinkleshine nodded and turned towards the foal. She gently pushed Moondancer’s back onto the table and took the urine-ridden diaper off. “Now, does any one of you know how to change a diaper?”

Twilight now stood before a plain wooden door with a single knocker on the front. The windows to each side of the window looked heavily moisturised and soggy, with a feint indistinguishable aroma wafting through the air. The grass around Twilight looked charred and burnt, as if someone had tried to use their magic to keep it fresh.

Twilight came up to the door and used the knocker on the door. She stepped backwards when she heard what sounded like a mare falling down the steps and muttering angrily to themselves. When the door opened, a unicorn mare stood before her with a murky white coat, a dark green mane drooping down her sides, and black-rimmed glasses covering her red eyes.

“What is it?” The mare asked, brushing off some of the dirt that lingered on her coat.

Twilight was almost taken aback at how drastically different the mare looked in comparison to her initial assumption. “You’re Moondancer’s mom, correct?”

“That’d be me. The name’s Riverdancer. Top ‘o’ the mornin’ to ye.” The mare lazily waved her hoof to Twilight. “So what’ll ya be havin’ from me, yer highness? Free food? A cold drink?”

Twilight blushed as she started to scrape the cobblestone below her hooves. “Well, you see, Riverdancer, I, uh…”

Riverdancer cocked her eyebrows and tilted her head. “It’s about me daughter, ain’t it? Did she do something wrong?”

Twilight shook her head and tapped the ground with the tip of her hoof. “Well, not really. I’ll explain more if you let me inside.”

Riverdancer opened the door and stood aside. “Sure. If it’s about wee little Moondancer, I want to know as soon as I can.”

Riverdancer lead Twilight through the dust and dirt-ridden house filled with books piled on top of each other. No matter where they both went, there were books either on or around every piece of furniture. There were even books by the kitchen counter and around the stoves and ovens.

Twilight simply chuckled at the sight of all of the books. ”Whoa. That’s something you don’t see every day. And considering that I used to live in a library, it really shouldn’t be this big of a deal.”

Riverdancer glared at the books and crossed her arms. “Yes. I always offered for her to help with the farm out back, but she always had her head stuck in those blasted books. She even took some of my favorite ones when she moved out. Little blighter, I tell ya...”

Once they walked into the kitchen, they heard a whistling sound coming from a silver kettle nearby. Riverdancer took it from the heated plate and picked up two cups from the nearby rack. “Do you want some tea, love? Might as well, seeing as the kettle’s boiled.”

“Yes, thank you.” Twilight nodded and watched Riverdancer load a pair of tea bags into the cups and pour the scalding water into them. The water turned grey and let off a smell that wrapped around Twilight’s nose and travelled up her nostrils. “Mmm. This looks good.”

Riverdancer took the first cup of tea with her magic and took a small sip. “Now can you tell me about my daughter? It’s not good to keep an Irish mare like myself waiting, y’know.”

Twilight began slowly drinking her own cup of tea, looking at Riverdancer with uncertainty in her eyes. “Yes, well a few nights ago, Moondancer and I were… developing.”

Riverdancer almost spat out her tea and choked on it, eying up Twilight with daggers shooting from her eyes. “You better not have done something awful to me daughter. She’s the Dancer Family lineage an’ all. I’d send you straight to the gallows if you did!”

“No! No! It’s nothing like that.” Twilight waved her hooves in front of her face. “You see, we were developing a spell to make mares look younger and she wanted me to test it on her and—”

“And?” Riverdancer’s glare became even more malicious as her brows now twitched. “What did you do to her?!”

Twilight gulped and sweat trickled down from her brow as she took a deep breath. “I used the spell on her and it turned her into a foal.”

Riverdancer blinked repeatedly with her mouth agape. What had remained of her earlier hostility had now been entirely washed away with the news of her daughter. “So wee little Moondancer really is a wee little one again? Is that it?”

Twilight nodded. “Yeah, I know this may be shocking, but I believe that she will be back to normal within a month—provided that I find a reverse spell.”

Riverdancer simply gave Twilight a toothy grin and folded her arms again. She puffed out her chest and smirked devilishly. “Well it’s about time.”

“Wait, what?” This time, Twilight jumped up and banged her head against the ceiling. She rubbed it as she fluttered back down to the floor and opened her eyes wider. “What do you mean by that?”

Riverdancer laughed and already began walking towards the front door. “Oh, I have to see this.”

“So… you're not mad at me?” Twilight asked for clarification.

“What are you talking about? Why would I ever be mad at you for something as hilarious as this?” Riverdancer slapped her knees and almost fell over with laughter. “Come! Come! I wouldn’t miss this for the world! My egghead daughter, reduced to a crying and blubbering foal? That’s just too good to be true!”

Twilight groaned and followed the cackling mare out of the building. “I should’ve just gone to the library…”

Minuette woke from what seemed like hours of sleep and groggily looked up to see the sun setting through her window.Man, I can’t believe I got so much sleep without Moondancer crying ...”she smiled for a few moments until the realisation struck her. She had left her alone with Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts; two ponies who were just as irressponsible and unexperienced as she was. Oh no. The baby! I’ve gotta see her! And she dashed off down the stairs like a bullet from a gun.

She ran down the stairs to find Twinkleshine, Lemon Hearts, Twilight, and Riverdancer all cooing and playing with Moondancer, who was reveling in the vast amounts of attention, babbling and squealing happily as she crawled from pony to pony.

Minuette sighed in relief and brushed her forehead. “Oh wow. Thank goodness. I almost had a heart attack.”

“Oh! Minuette! Good afternoon!” Twilight waved at Minuette and motioned for her to come closer. “I want to introduce Moondancer’s mom, Riverdancer.”

She turned to the older mare who bowed her head and tousled the mane of her infantile daughter. “It's lovely ta meet ye, Minuette. Thank you for taking care of me daughter.”

Minuette groggily smacked her lips as she rubbed her eyes and let off a tiny yawn. “Oh, it’s no problem, miss. I love peanut butter crackers as well...”

“I’m relieved to hear that me daughter is in good hands.” Riverdancer smiled and stroked Minuette’s back. “If what Twilight’s told me is true, then you’re doing a great job with her. I hope that you raise her well.”

“Yeah, tha—” Minuette’s eyes shot open when she had let Riverdancer’s words sink in ”—wait, what?! You’re Moondancer’s mom?!”

Riverdancer picked up Moondancer and gave her a little tickle on her belly, watching her giggle and squirm around. “Yes I am. Moony’s going to have a lot of fun with ye. I can tell.”

Minuette blushed and rubbed the back of her mane, squinting her eyes at Riverdancer. “So... you’re okay with her being a foal?”

Riverdancer turned to Minuette. “Of course I am. In fact, I'm over the moon to see that she and Twilight came up with such an advanced and quite frankly adorable spell.”

“The spell wasn't supposed to turn her into a foal though.” Twilight coughed under her breath.

Riverdancer heard Twilight and shook her head at her. “No. Not at all, m’dear. ‘Tis a wonderful spell ya got here. One that I hope gets published some day so that more ponies can relive their childhoods. You only get one, y’know.”

Riverdancer hugged Moondancer and cooed gently into her ear. ”I always knew you would find amazing spells. Yes you would. Coochie-coo!” She heard Moondancer chuckle some more as she slowly began to rock her.

Twilight walked up to Riverdancer and whispered softly. “So… How does turning ponies back to foals help any pony?”

Riverdancer shrugged. “Who knows? Mayhaps Celestia and Luna could use to shave of some of their hundreds of years. Old as hags, I tell ya.”

Minuette went and sat down with the rest of the mares, who had now formed a perfect pentagon. She saw Moondancer turn towards her and begin to cry, waving her miniature hooves and spluttering incoherent foal gibberish as she reached out for her. “Aww, Moony. C’mere.” She extended her own legs in turn.

Riverdancer placed Moondancer back on the ground and let her crawl along slowly, waddling back and forth as her diaper crinkled with every inch. Minuette still marveled at how young and cute she thought her friend was. It was like she had become an entirely different pony. She picked her up and kissed her on the forehead holding her delicately in her hooves. She watched Moondancer gurgle and blow bubbles through her mouth as she stretched her left hoof out and lightly bop her on the nose with it.

Riverdancer smiled at the sight and smiled at Minuette and Moondancer. “Well. Guess that’s that. You two go together like arrows and an archery target.”

Minuette looked up from Moondancer’s harmless face and locked gazes with Riverdancer. “Oh! No, no, It’s not like that.”

Riverdancer laughed once again and stroked Moondancer. “It’s fine, Minuette. I wasn’t really that good of a mother anyway. Hopefully Moony’s better off in your hands.”

Twilight stood back up and approached the front door. “Well, it’s been nice to be with you all today, but now I really must get back to researching a cure. In the meantime, I hope that you’re all fine with Minuette taking care of Moondancer.” She turned towards Riverdancer. “Last chance. Is it really alright if she looks after her?”

“Yes, is it, Twilight.” Riverdancer nodded and unintentionally let out a small burp. She waved the lingering stench away from her as she wiped her mouth. “Sorry about that. I’ve been knocking back a few pints at the tavern today and the smell isn't gonna go ‘til tomorrow.” She stood up along with the rest of the mares as they all came up to Twilight. “That, and I’ve recently been approved to teach at the university, so I couldn’t look after her even if I tried.”

Moondancer simply babbled incoherently but Minuette felt like she agreed and accepted the situation just as much as her former mother did. She then turned back to Minuette and snuggled into her chest.

“Alright then. Take care, everyone.” Riverdancer opened the door and strolled out. “i’ll come by tomorrow after work to see how she’s getting on.”

Minuette bowed her head as Riverdancer left the house, followed by Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts. They all gave one more smile back to her as Twilight walked out with them.

”Minuette, do you really want to still care for her?” Twilight repeated the question once more. “Being a mother’s a tough job.”

“Twilight, it’s Moondancer. She’s been my bestest friend for, like, EVER!” Minuette exclaimed. “Look. I know that this is hard but I want to keep her safe. It’s not right for anypony to be like this, even if half of the time, their face is plowed into books all day..”

“Well, alright Minuette.” Twilight nodded and walked out of the house. “I’ll be at the Canterlot Main Library if you need anything.”

“I’ll be sure to come and find you if I need anything.” Minuette waved the group off and watched them all walk down the streets. Once they were far enough, she closed the door and sighed.

Almost immediately after everyone had left and Minuette was once again in solitude, a repugnant stench filled the air as Moondancer’s diaper got warm and squelchy. She took a small sniff and stuck her tongue out as she began to walk back upstairs.

“Looks like someone’s in need of a diapee change, aren’t they?” Minuette blew a raspberry into Moondancer’s stomach and heard her squeal and chuckle some more as the two of them embarked up the stairs towards Minuette’s room.

Chapter Three: A Comforting Night

Minuette was cuddling with Moondancer in her bed later that evening, still a bit shaken up and unhinged from the day’s events. After meeting Riverdancer and caring for Moondancer nonstop, she wanted nothing more than to rest and relax, bracing herself for the days ahead.

Moondancer woke with a strange feeling as she looked around and saw Minuette’s blue fur and felt comfortable in her embrace. She snuggled her face into it and kicked her back legs, crinkling her diaper loudly as she got warm and cozy in her fur. She pushed her lips into her mother’s fur, looking for something in particular but couldn't seem find it. She crawled deeper into her underbelly and her mouth eventually found a soft and fleshy nipple. She began to suckle it making Minuette giggle and murmur.

“Stop it,” Minuette chuckled, feeling Moondancer nibble on her teat. She stirred about and eventually opened her eyes to see Moondancer trying to suck her teats. She picked the foal up and held her close. “You want some breastmilk?”

Moondancer looked up and blew some bubbles through her mouth at her, babbling with a smile on her face.

Minuette got up from the bed, strode over to the table, and picked up the lactation pills with her magic. She gave them a hard look and both the pills in the palm of her hoof, and Moondancer, who was now chewing on her bedsheets.

”Are you hungry?” She asked, plucking the sheets away from Moondancer.

Moondancer looked up and babbled about something, tilting her head as she locked gazes with that of Minuette.

Minuette smirked and took a glass of water before popped one of the pills in her mouth . She then went over to the foal and placed her forelegs around her. As she watched Moondancer toddle over, she cooed,”Aren’t you just a real cutie? Yes you are, yes you are...”

Moondancer giggled and kicked her tiny legs in the air as her diaper crinkled loudly. Minuette smirked and groaned, feeling her teats fill up. She revealed them and let Moondancer crawl around her belly and inch towards the milk, coiling her lips around it as she began to suck.

“Drink up now, Moony.” Minuette rubbed Moondancer’s hair as she drank her fill. “There’s a good little baby…”

Once Moondancer drank enough, she crawled up to Minuette’s face and began exploring her nose. Minuette nuzzled Moondancer, making her giggle and clap her tiny hooves together.

Minuette asked, “So do you enjoy being a foal?” as Moondancer finally climbed off of her and flopped onto her back.

Moondancer garbled as she placed her hooves in her mouth and proceeded to chew on them.

“You know that I loved you before you were turned to a foal. But I was never been able to tell you my feelings with you being the library all the time.” Minuette sighed and rubbed Moondancer’s stomach gently. The tiny unicorn looked up with drool all over her hooves as Minuette continued. “I would’ve told you sooner, y’know ...but I was scared that you would just ignore me and go back to your work.”

Moondancer began to whimper as Minuette sighed and took her up in her magical embrace. She rocked her back and forth, listening as the whines began to die down. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to get so flustered. I just hope that once this is all over, that you won’t think any less of me as a friend for bottling all this stuff up for that long…”

The emotional moment between the two of them was soon ended with the sound of the front door being knocked on. Scooping the foal up, Minuette slowly walked down the stairs with Moondancer balancing delicately on her back. After a brisk trot down the stairs, she went down to the door and opened it up, revealing Twilight Sparkle on the other side.

“Hi, Minuette!” Twilight greeted her with a bright smile but almost immediately noticed how Minuette’s cheeks flushed red. “Uh, is something wrong? I can come back later if you want...”

”Huh?” Minuette snapped out of her train of thought and looked up at Twilight. “No! No, nothing’s wrong. It’s just, um… Moondancer spat up all over the place and made quite the mess.”

”Oh, really?” Twilight took a slight frisk at Moondancer, before attempting to peak into the house itself. “Well, let me help clean it up.”

“Oh no, it’s fine, really. I can handle it. I don’t want you to get your coat dirty.” She waved her hooves in front of her.

”You sure? I really don’t mind—”

“Please, Twilight. I’d rather deal with this myself.” Minuette shook her head and used her magic to illuminate the handle on her door, slowly beginning to close it.

“Okay, okay. I get it. You’re a stressed parent dealing with a foal, I can understand. I’ll just drop these off, then I’ll leave you to it.” Before the door was closed, Twilight was able to slide a bag full of baby supplies into the house, the plastic just barely touching the floor as her magic stream was cut off with Minuette closing the door on her.

After Minuette walked away from the door, she picked up the bag of supplies and began to walk back up the stairs and treat Moondancer to some more comfort, feeling her cheeks get colder and colder as the embarrassment she once felt left her face she whispered to herself,"Twilight almost saw my swollen teats. That would've been too emberassing to explain."

“You know I still love you, Moony…” Minuette brushed Moondancer’s mane as she carried her up the stairs in her aura. She settled on her bed and placed her foal right up to her left nipple and let her suckle it gently as she sat there staring at her foal. She brushed her mane gently as she cooed. “And when you get older, I’ll be sure to tell you....” Minuette then bent down and kissed her on the foreheaf making Moondancer coo and curl up a bit in her forehooves.

Chapter four: Friends and donuts

As the sun rose the next morning, Minuette heard the cries of Moondancer filling her ears. She watched the foal come up to her, whimpering as she felt her diaper squelch. Minuette just brushed the filly's mane and slowly took her into her magical embrace and placed her on a changing mat.

As she stripped Moondancer of her soggy diaper and wiped her down, another knock echoed through her house. Minuette finished powdering and taping up Moondancer as fast as she could. She then placed her on her back and walked down towards the door, opening it once she arrived.

Twilight stood outside with her mane all frazzled with a groggy smile. “Hey, Minuette. Is it okay if I come inside?”

Minuette quickly opened the door and smiled. “Yeah, of course, Twilight. Come on in.”

She walked into the living room and led her to the kitchen. After putting Moondancer in her high chair she let her coo and babble as the mare prepared breakfast.

“So, Twilight. Hungry for some pancakes?” Minuette asked.

The tired princess nodded and mumbled, “Can you also make some coffee? I was up all night studying again.”

Minuette started her coffee machine and poured two cups. As she made all of the preparations, Twilight began to play with Moondancer, putting her hooves over her face and cooing.

“Where's the baby?” Twilight asked, causing Moondancer to gasp and place her hooves in her mouth.

Then Twilight revealed herself and shouted, “There she is!”

Moondancer squealed and started giggling hysterically, clapping her tiny hooves.

Twilight laughed and nuzzled the foal, letting out a little chuckle of her own.

Minuette came over and placed a foal bottle in Moondancer’s tiny hooves and let her suckle it happily, being rewarded with warm milk for every gulp.

Twilight giggled and asked “so how are things?”

Minuette sighed as she trembled and began to whisper. “Good, but I really need to apologize for the way I acted last night. You saw I wanted to breastfeed Moondancer and my teats were bloated and I was really embarrassed. You wouldn’t want to see me like that.”

She started to tear up as Twilight held Minette's hoof and gave it a few tender rubs. “It's okay. You seemed really stressed out last night and I didn’t want to be any trouble.”

Minuette was still choking up as she let a small tear form in her eyes. “It's not that. I...I guess I'm.” In the end, she could only blush as she inhaled air. “I'm growing attached to Moondancer.”

Twilight blinked for a few seconds before holding her hoof out to Minuette. “Is that all?”

“Yeah, but is it that a bad thing?” Minuette asked

“Bad? I think it's wonderful!” Twilight smiled. “If anything you really care about Moondancer and I'm so happy you're enjoying being a mom.”

Minuette hugged Twilight as tightly as she could, while she returned the gesture. Both of the mares nuzzled each other and let out gentle grins.

“Thank you, Twilight.” Minuette sniffled and wiped the tears out of her eyes. “Now, I think I should get back to making breakfast.”

Twilight shook her head. “No, it's fine. In fact, I have a better idea.” She looked over towards the door. “How about we go out to get some donuts and see we can bring Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts along too.”

“Twilight, you know you don't have to do that.” Minuette tipped her hoof.

"I know, but I want to do it, because you’re my friend. And friends deserve to have a little fun time every once in awhile, right?” said Twilight.

Moondancer babbled something, as if she was answering the question for Minuette. She shook her little legs and felt herself get lifted into the air by Twilight, right onto her mother’s back.

“Alright, Twilight. Guess you’ve roped me in.” Minuette smield and walked up the stairs. “I'll go get some foal supplies and her buggy.”

“Wait!” Twilight exclaimed, stopping Minuette in her tracks. “I don't want everypony to know Moondancer is a foal.”

“Maybe we could just say she's a cousin or something?” Minuette turned and lifted one of her eyelids. “But what about her name?”

“I’ve been thinking of a number of foal names for Moondancer while I was studying the spell to change her back,” Twilight started, “and I was thinking that Sunrise would be a cute name.”

“Sunrise?” Minuette turned her neck around and saw Moondancer gently cuddling her neck, babbling as she looked around. She took notice of Moondancer’s mane and coat before nodding down at her. “I… guess it could work?”

“Yeah. I’m sure it’ll work. Little baby Sunrise.” Twilight came over to Moondancer’s side and gave her a kiss on the nose. “Who’s a good little Sunrise? You are. Yes you are.”

Moondancer laughed and grabbed onto Twilight’s muzzle as she began to rock back and forth on Minuette’s back. Then, she clutched on to Twilight’s neck and swung around on to her back.

“I’ll keep Moondancer busy. You go on and get the foal buggy ready.” Twilight pointed towards the top of the stairs.

Minuette smirked at Twilight as she watched Moondancer begin to rub her gums against Twilight’s neck cooing gently as she clapped her hooves together. Twilight picked Moondancer up and gave her a raspberry, making her squeal some more.

With a smile, Minuette went off towards her room to gather everything she needed for the day ahead of them.

Later that morning, Twilight and Minuette were pushing Moondancer through the busy streets of Canterlot. Ponies waved and dawwed at the foal who reveled in the attention, clapping her hooves and bouncing around, making her diaper crinkle all the while.

Twilight was still blushing over the whole situation, but her face turned back to normal when they came upon Lemon Hearts and Twinkleshine. They were both coming down the road until they saw Twilight and Moondancer walking in their direction. Twinkleshine giggled and ran up to the two and gave them a big hug.

“Hey, you two!” She smiled, rubbing her face against Twilight and Minuette’s faces. “And how’s cute little Moondancer?”

Moondancer babbled and tried to touch her face as Twinkleshine bent over nuzzled the little foal, making her laugh and flail her flabby legs. She watched the mare look back up and ask, “So, what are you two doing out here?”

“Well, we thought we’d give Moondancer some fresh air. That, and we were actually coming to see if you two want some donuts,” said Twilight.

Lemon Hearts yipped, “Really? You mean Donut Joe’s, right?”

“Of course! He makes the best donuts in all of Equestria!” Twilight was salivating over the thought of trying one of Joe’s donuts. “Besides I haven't even been able to see him since I've been here.”

“Alright. Well, we better get going.” Minuette pointed down towards Moondancer. “Also, just to let you two know, we can’t call Moondancer by her name out here.”

“Why not?” They both asked.

“We didn’t want anyone to get suspicious. Moondancer’s been like this for a few days and we might raise suspicion if we called her that.” Twilight looked at the ponies around her. “We don’t mean to mislead the ponies, but we can’t let them know that Moondancer’s a baby again.

“We decided to call her Sunrise until we find a solution. And she's my cousin from Manehatten.” Minuette took a peek down at her daughter.

“Alright. We don't want everypony knowing Moondancer‘s a foal,” Lemon Hearts said. “You can count on us, Minuette.”

“I'm fine with that,” Twinkleshine said, “but Lemon Hearts and I have a question.”

Minuette eyed them and asked “What is it?”

Lemon Hearts grinded her hoof on the pavement as she looked up with some of her mane blowing into her face. “Twinkleshine and I would like to know if we can play with Moondancer every once in awhile.”

Twinkleshine nodded. “Yeah. Lemon Hearts and I would love to take her to the park. Or just take her out on a stroll through Canterlot.”

Minuette smiled widely. “Of course. I would love you two to hang out with Moondancer. It would be so much fun!”

Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts sighed in relief as Twilight laughed. “You two were nervous about that?” She flicked a small tear from her eye.

The yellow pony blushed as she gave a sheepish smile and explained. “Yeah. Sorry, it's just we were unsure of how you...”

“Unsure of me letting you two play with Moondancer?” She turned her head as Minuette gave Lemon Hearts an alien look.

"Of course you two can play with her.” Minuette picked Moondancer up and held her towards the two ponies. “I may be her caretaker, but that doesn’t mean I would bar you two from seeing her.”

They all smiled at Moondancer as she laughed and wiggled her limbs again, trying to reach out and grab the ponies’ noses. Once she was put back into her buggy, she calmed down as Twilight tucked her in.

“Alright! Now how about we all go out for donuts!” Twilight bounced on the spot.

The mares nodded and followed Twilight down the road. As they walked, Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts constantly cooed and giggled at Moondancer, who was laughing and babbling at the mares.

Minuette turned to Twilight with a worried look and whispered, “uh, Twilight? Did you tell them about last night?”

Twilight shook her head. “Of course not. It's just, you’re giving off a bit of a vibe.”

Minuette eyed Twilight. “I give off a vibe?”

Twilight rubbed the back of her neck. “Yeah, it's just that you look kinda like—”

“Like Riverdancer?” Minuette slumped her shoulders and sighed when she took one look at herself. “I suppose that me and her are a bit similar… But I still don’t think I really feel like her mom.”

Twilight snickered. “Well, you do look like one, what with your diaper saddle bag and how you tied up your mane like that.”

Minuette patted her mane. “I did it so Moondancer wouldn't play with it while I changed her.” As she brushed her mane down with her hoof, she sighed and glanced at her feet. “You're right. I'm becoming more like a mom each day.”

”Yes, but you’re a good mother.“ Twilight patted Moondancer’s chest. “You’re kind, patient, caring, and not one to let the stresses of being a mother get you down. As long as you keep that up, you’re going to be the best mother ever.”

“Thanks, Twilight. I really appreciate that.” Moondancer patted Twilight’s shoulders and smiled. “Now, let’s enjoy ourselves, shall we?”

“Yes. Let’s.” Twilight and her friends approached the shop.

Twilight and her friends entered the looking donut shop with mostly empty tables and chairs. But as they came in, they were greeted by Donut Joe shouting from the counter. “Princess Twilight! Welcome back!”

Twilight gave the big stallion a smile as she said, “It's great to be back, Joe.”

He came up and shook all the mare’s hooves until he peered down at the foal and swooned. “Oh. And who's this little cutie.”

“She’s my cousin Sunrise from Manehatten.” Minuette held her up to him. “Her parents dropped her off while they go on vacation.”

Donut Joe chuckled and ruffled the foal’s mane. “Y’know, she looks a lot like Moondancer.”

Minuette stammered. “Y-Yeah. She gets that all the time. Heck, I joke about it with my friends sometimes.”

Lemon Hearts nodded and darted her eyes around the room. “Yep. Little Sunrise sure does look like Moondancer. But she's a cute little foal and Moondancer’s a grown mare. There's no way the two are the same.”

Twilight responded curtly. “Yeah. Quite a coincidence, huh?.”

Donut Joe smirked. “Well, I'll go get a highchair for her. Why don’t you three take a load off and relax?”

He walked off as Minuette went over to Moondancer and checked her diaper. The mare felt that was a little damp. Minuette kissed her and cooed. “Aww. Did someone wet themselves?”

Moondancer just smiled and kicked her back legs, feeling the wetness press against her tiny body. The girls all sat around a table until Donut Joe came and placed a high chair right next to Minuette. As Minuette snapped Moondancer in to the chair, she then put a bottle into her hooves.

“So, what’ll it be, girls?” Joe asked, holding a pencil and notebook.

Twilight smiled “How about a dozen of your Sprinkle Spectaculars please?”

“Nice choice, your majesty. It'll be right up.” Joe wrote it down and walked off towards the kitchen.

Twilight turned towards the other girls. “So while we wait, what do you two have planned for Moondancer?”

Lemon Hearts said, “I learned that there’s a adorable little bookstore not far from here for foals. I thought we could take her there sometime.”

Moondancer clapped her hooves and bounced in her highchair. She clearly liked the sound of the idea.

Twilight gasped. “You don't mean Little Bookworms, do you? My mom used to take me there all the time when I was a foal!”

Twinkleshine chimed in, “Sounds great! I also thought we take her to the Little Foals’ Garden Tour at the palace. I even heard the little ones get to meet Princess Celestia herself!”

Twilight brushed the tip of her foot against the ground. “I don't know about that. There’s probably going to be a lot of ponies there who might recognize her. I’d rather we avoid large crowds.”

Minuette replied, “Well, we do have a story for her and it even fooled Donut Joe. I think she'll be fine.”

Twilight sighed, seeing all the mares giving her pleading eyes as she conceded with a groan. “Fine, we’ll go. But we’ll have to make the trip quick.”

The mares all laughed as Twilight simply rolled her eyes. Then they turned to see Donut Joe coming out with a tray full of purple glazed donuts with multi colored sprinkles all over them.

As he placed the tray down and gave each mare a cup of coffee he asked, “Do you need anything else?”

Twilight shook her head. “No, no. This looks great. But I thought the Sprinkle Spectacular was a pink donut.”

Donut Joe put his hooves to his chest and let out a hearty laugh. “I changed the look thanks to you! I call them the Sparkle Spectacular now!”

All of the other ponies giggled at the new name—including Moondancer, even though she didn’t know what to make of anything around her—while Twilight sat there and gained pink cheeks. “Well, thank you, Joe. They do look delicious.”

“Well, girls, dig in! And let me know if you want another rounds at any time.” He strode away from the table as the mares began to eat.

Twinkleshine picked up one of the donuts. “So, Twilight. Does this make you the princess of pastries?”

Twilight rolled her eyes at the remark.

“Oh, I think that it's cute.” Lemon Hearts smiled. “I would love to have a pastry named after me.” Then she took a bite out of the donut. “And one that tastes great too.”

“Yeah. Your name would be perfect for lemon cakes.” Minuette nodded. “I can already see ‘em. Lemon’s Hearty Cakes! Selling all all the best bakeries!”

Moondancer babbled something, blowing out some saliva bubbles, making all the mares swoon over her.

Minuette wiped her mouth and cooed. “What do you think Lemon Hearts’ food would be? “A new flavor of foal food?”

Moondancer nodded her head, making all of the mares giggle. Twilight smirked as she drank her coffee and chewed on a donut.

Twinkleshine turned and asked, “So, Twilight? You made any progress Moondancer?”

Twilight shook her head and moaned, “Sadly, no. But I want to keep researching until I do find a cure.”

Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts quickly ate more donuts to hide their expressions.

Minuette sighed and turned towards Twilight. “Hey, I know you want to find a cure. But… I'm okay with caring for her for a month. You're exhausted and you’ve done so much for me. The least I can do is care for a foal.”

Twilight smiled at Minuette. “I know. You’re looking out for my well being too, but this is my fault. I can’t just give up on you now.”

“How about instead, you come over and help take care of Moondancer?” Minuette looked over at the foal, who was starting to fidget in the high chair. “If anything, that would be more helpful.”

“Alright. If you want.” Twilight took a deep breath and blew air out of her nose. “But I need to get my stuff from Moondancer’s house.”

“So you are crashing with Moondancer!” Donut Joe exclaimed, causing the entire group to jump out of their seats. “Oh, sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.”

Twilight turned to Donut joe with a sheepish smile, stammered, “Oh, no. I’m fine, Joe. Moondancer and I are studying together.”

Donut Joe chuckled and ruffled the princess’s mane. “Oh, of course I should've known. You and Moondancer were such bookworms back when you were kids. I guess some things don’t change.”

Twilight couldn’t help but blush for the third time that day at how Donut Joe made her feel like a child again. He turned to the mares all chowing down and asked, “If you girls are heading out, why not take a few donuts to go?”

Lemon Hearts shouted with smile, “That’s a wonderful idea!”

Minuette, who was busy cleaning up Moondancer’s muzzle mumbled, “Y-Yeah. That’s no problem. We're probably going to be out for the rest of the day.”

Donut Joe nodded and said, “Right. Well, I’ll go throw some in a bag.” And with that, he went off to pack the extra donuts. “Oh, and don’t worry about paying for anything. They’re on the house.”

Twilight shook her head and handed Donut Joe a bag of bits as he hesitantly took them.

“I might be a princess, but even I’m not above the law.” Twilight smiled and slipped them back into Donut Joe’s uniform. “I would feel terrible having you make all of these without getting something in return.”

“Well, if you say so.” Joe shrugged and took the bag with him.

The big stallion walked off as Minuette came over with Moondancer on her back. “Well, Moondancer soaked her diaper. I’m going to go get her changed.”

Twilight nodded and watched as she led her little foal-ified friend to the bathroom in the back. She then sat down and started to finish her donut and drink her coffee with the other mares.

Chapter five: A day out

View Online

Twilight and Minuette were both trotting along with their friends while Moondancer idly gazed at the world around her. They eventually reached a quaint little building sitting in between some houses with parents and their foals going in and out of it. The store itself had a huge big blue book with the letters, “ABC“ on it with a sign overhead with big black letters saying, “Little Bookworms.”

Moondancer started bouncing with more vigor shouting eagerly as she and Twilight walked into the establishment

“Aww... Moondancer remembers this place.” Twilight’s heart melted at the sight of Moondancer’s enthusiasm.

Minuette commented, “Oh. That's adorable. Let's go pick some books out for her.”

They both headed inside and were met with a small library with feet high bookshelves lined with picture books. The floors had a bright red carpet with tiny comfy couches. Colts and fillies were going about with their parents looking at books or being read to on a couch.

Twilight couldn’t help but smile and whispered, “Oh. This is just how I remember it... My mom used to read to me all the time on these couches.”

Moondancer was just as excited. She bounced up and down more, squealing in delight at all the books.

Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts were both giggling as Minuette asked, “So, Twilight. You should know what Moondan—I mean Sunrise’s favorite books were as a foal right?”

Twilight nodded. ”Yeah. I’m sure they have copies. I can go browse and look for them. You go on and let her play in the play area. I’ll be along shortly.”

As Twilight left to go look for the books, Minuette pushed the foal buggy to the central area where there was a whole range of different comfy couches. She then sat herself with Moondancer in her lap. But Moondancer, full of excitement, jumped off her lap and waddled off to the bookshelves and began pulling out books. She started to look through them as she babbled and rubbed her hooves all over the pages.

Lemon Hearts cooed, “That’s adorable. I can't believe how much she’s enjoying herself. She must have vague memories of this place.”

Twinkleshine nodded. “I know. Isn’t it just adorable?”

Minuette was a bit concerned about Moondancer and was going to grab her but then she saw Twilight coming down the hall, carrying a huge bundle of books in her magic. Minuette rubbed her chin and asked, “Hey, Twilight? Do you need help?”

“No. It’s fine. I can deal with this.” As she was trying to balance a dozen or so books on top of each other with her magic.

Minuette rolled her eyes and helped Twilight lower the books to the ground. Twilight gave a sheepish smile and said, “Sorry. I didn’t mean to cause any trouble.”

Minuette laughed out loud and replied, “Oh, it’s fine, Twilight. I just didn’t want you to get hurt.”

They looked over the books Twilight brought over. Minuette flipped through the pages and grinned at the images inside.

Twilight asked, “So what do you think?”

Minuette smiled at each story. Most of them were fairy tale picture books. “It’s perfect, Twilight.” She briefly glanced up at her. “Sunrise is going to love them. But this is going to cost a lot.”

Twilight waved a hoof as she replied, “Oh, don’t worry. I don’t mind spending bits on foals.”

Minuette couldn’t help but laugh. “I know. The problem is you're going to spoil her.”

One mare came up to them to Minuette and tapped her on the shoulder, “Um… are you the mother of that yellow coated filly?”

Minuette turned to face her. “Well, no. I’m just watching her for awh—” She dropped her mouth open at the sight of little Moondancer, who had thrown books all over the place. The little foal was babbling about and giggling while smearing drool onto one of them. Minuette quickly rushed over and scooped up Moondancer in her hooves while her friends started to help clean up the mess.

After they left the bookstore, the mares now headed towards the palace with little Moondancer snuggled in her buggy, wrapped snugly in her foal blankets.

Twilight smirked, “I couldn’t believe how fast she made a mess out of that library.”

Lemon Hearts nodded. ”Yeah. Didn’t realise how much of a troublemaker Moo—I mean Sunrise is.”

Minuette turned her gaze and mumbled under her breath. “She’s just as bad at home. Believe me, I know...”

They were now in front of the palace gardens where royal guards stood at attention as parents pushed their foals inside. Twilight looked around the gardens and saw Celestia near the fountains holding a foal, letting the little one play with her flowing rainbow colored mane.

Minuette couldn’t help but giggle. “I would never imagine seeing Princess Celestia like this.”

Twilight smirked. “Yeah. There's a lot more to her then the title.”

They couldn't help but watch the princess cuddling the foals and then give them back to their smiling mothers.

“So. Should we get in line?” Twilight asked.

Minuette looked down at the line and sighed. “Yeah, but it’s going to take forever to meet her and we don't have time. Moondancer is going to get cranky soon and she’ll be wailing in Princess Celestia’s hooves!”

Twilight idly waved a hoof. “You're worrying too much. Besides, I have an idea.” She walked up to Princess Celestia who smiled at the purple alicorn and her friends.

“Oh. Hello, Twilight,” she said. “It’s so nice to see you.”

The rest of the mares gasped and moved out of the way, making Twilight blush.

Then the solar princess turned to the foal buggy and spotted the flailing Moondancer and felt her heart melt. “Oh. is thi—”

But before she could say anything, Twilight exclaimed, “This is Sunshine! Minuette’s cousin!”

Celestia gave the mares a confused look as they gave her nervous smiles. But deep down in her mind, she knew exactly what was going on. Good one, Twilight. I see what you’re doing.

The princess continued. “Oh. Well, Minuette, I'm so happy that you're taking good care of little Sunrise.” She then winked at Minuette, making her smile meekly.

Oh, yeah... Twilight told her about Moondancer. She thought. I keep forgetting that.

Celestia then picked up Moondancer with her magic and hugged her close as she cooed, ”How's the little cutie?” She let Moondancer reach out for and begin to play with her mane. “So is Mo—I mean Sunrise giving you girls any trouble?”

Twilight waved a hoof. “Oh, no. She’s been doing great. She’s made a mess or two, but overall, she’s a little angel.”

Celestia grinned. “Oh really?” She then turned her gaze to face the foal and snuggled the foal in her embrace as she brought her mouth to her chest. “I hope you haven’t been a naughty foal.”

Moondancer shook her head and babbled, spitting bubbles in response, which made all the mares in the area swoon.

Celestia gave the foal a raspberry in return, making her squeal while an audible hiss could be heard, making all the ponies gasp. The solar sovereign just laughed. “Aw, Looks like she needs a change.”

Minuette gasped as she staggered backwards. “I am so sorry, Princess. I just changed her. I did—”

“Don't worry. I’ve had foals who had accidents with me all day.” Celestia fired a beam at Moondancer’s diaper, causing a brand new one to magically replace the wet one in the blink of an eye.

Minuette stared in awe at Celestia’s magical prowess, but quickly returned to reality by shaking her head. “So, did you have any luck on Moondancer’s problem?”

Twilight sighed and shook her head as she sighed, whispered, ”Sadly no. I’ve been researching nonstop for the past few days and found nothing.”

Celestia came over and asked, “How about you give it a break? You look more exhausted then Minuette.”

“What do you mean?” Twilight’s eyes began to droop.

Celestia laughed. “First off, you’re talking to a royal guard.”

Twilight looked up as the royal guard blushed and pointed to Celestia, making her eyes grow wide. “I’m so sorry. “

All the ponies in the garden laughed as Celestia cooed, “I think it’s about time Sunrise and you took a nap.”

Minuette nodded. ”Yeah. Looks like I have two foals to look after.”

“I’m not a foal!” Twilight whined, but then found herself yawning loudly.

“Well, your yawns say otherwise.” Celestia booped Twilight’s nose and gave it a little nuzzle. “So, I take it you’ll be staying with Minuette?”

Twilight nodded and slowly mumbled. “Yeah, at least until we can get Moo—”

Minuette coughed loudly, making everypony turn towards her. “That was fun, but Sunrise does need her nap. We better get going!”

She took Moondancer out of the garden with the other mares, waving nervously before slipping off. Celestia snickered all the while as she watched Twilight, who was still half-asleep, stumble and try to keep up with her friends.

Twilight woke later that afternoon in Minuette’s bed. She looked around and saw all of her stuff already unpacked and being sorted by Minuette.

Twilight rubbed her eyes and groggily asked. “Hey, Minuette. You brought all my stuff here?”

Minuette shook her head and explained. “Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts helped. Everything is pretty much unpacked. I’m just making sure your books are out of Moondancer’s reach.” She then stacked then on top of a shelf.

Twilight couldn’t help but laugh as she turned to see Moondancer sleeping soundly in her crib. She was wearing a cute nightie with a pacifier in her mouth, which bobbed up and down.

Twilight asked. “So how was she?”

Minuette turned with a smile. “Oh, she was tuckered out by the time we got back. She’s been sleeping ever since.”

“That’s good.” Twilight stood up from the bed. “So is there anything you need with help with?”

Minuette shook her head and said, “No. I'm fine. Thanks, Twilight.”

Twilight got up and stretched, looking out the window to see that the sun was already setting and Luna was raising the moon. She sighed, “Wow. I slept for way too long.”

Minuette said, “Yeah, but it looked like you really needed the sleep. You were like a zombie coming back to the house.”

Twilight nodded and looked up at Minuette with apologetic smile. “Hey, Minuette. Thank you for doing all of this. But I still want to study and see if I can still fix this.”

Minuette turned and shook her head. ”It’s alright, Twilight. I told you I’d rather you help take care of Moondancer with me. I really mean that.”

”Alright, Minuette. I won’t press it anymore.” Twilight gave Minuette a pat on the shoulder.

“Hey, how about we have something before bed?” Minuette pointed towards the stairs. “It’s been a long time since we had those donuts.”

Twilight chirped, “That sounds great.”

Minuette lead Twilight downstairs and into her kitchen.

“So what are you hungry for?” Twilight asked, using her magic to light up the handles and knobs for each compartment.

Minuette eyed her fridge and mumbled, “I was thinking sandwiches.” Just then, they both heard a wail echoing from upstairs, prompting a groan from Minuette. “Oh. She probably needs another change.”

Twilight unfurled her wings. ”I got her. You just prepare our food.”

”Oh, thank you. That would be great.” Minuette beamed. “Just get her diaper changed and try to get her back to sleep if you can.”

Twilight nodded and replied. “Of course.” She flew back upstairs to take care of Moondancer while Minuette went back to making sandwiches. After a brief period making them, Twilight came back downstairs. “Hey, Minuette. How are the sandwiches coming?”

Minuette pulled her head from the tray. “Yep. They’re done. How’s Moondancer?”

Twilight waved a hoof and cooed. “Oh, she’s fine. She just made a mess in her diaper. Nothing too hard to handle.”

Minuette scoffed. ”You won't be saying that after the twentieth diaper.”

Twilight laughed. “Now I know why Shining and Cadence feel.”

They grabbed their sandwiches and started to eat together, chewing delicately before swallowing their mush.

“So, what do you think?” Minuette smiled, wiping the cucumbers from her mouth.

“Great.” Twilight swallowed another sandwich. “This is a perfect night snack.”

Minuette smirked and coyly waved her hoof. “You're just saying that.”

“No. I mean it. This is really good. Thanks, Minuette.” Twilight replied as she took another bite of her sandwich.

“So… Celestia knows, right?” Minuette lifted one of her eyebrows. “I mean, the way she acted was really peculiar.”

Twilight laughed and nodded as she explained. ”Yeah. She knows about Moondancer. I thought I told you that already...”

Minuette blushed “I think you did. I just wanted to be sure.”

Twilight winked as she whispered, “Oh, don’t worry. Celestia knows how to keep secrets. She completely understands the situation.”

Minuette nodded and asked, “So now that you're helping me, do you have any plans for Moondancer?”

Twilight shook her head and replied, “Not really. But Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts seem excited to play with her.”

Minuette laughed loudly, clutching her stomach. “Yeah, they’re wonderful with her. I almost wish they were turned to foals too. They would be wonderful play—”

“You really want to care for three foals?” Twilight cut the the conversation short.

“No.” Minuette’s brows fell hard. “Taking care of one foal is hard enough.” She sighed a little before flicking her mane. “I just wish Moondancer had a playmate.”

Twilight tapped her chin. “Hmm… Would you mind if she played with Flurry Heart?”

Minuette rubbed her chin. ”No. Just as long as you could convince Shining and Cadence if that's okay.”

“Oh, I’m sure that I could find a way to get them to come…” Twilight winked.

“Alright. You can go ahead and make the plans.” Minuette returned her attention to the sandwiches.

The two of them finished their sandwiches and headed off to bed.

As they turned the lights off and got under the covers Twilight asked, “So, when Moondancer wakes up, do you want me to get her first?”

“No. It’s fine. I got it.” Minuette slipped her blankets over her body and laid down.

“Okay. Just asking.” Twilight mumbled as she slowly went back to sleep as well. “Have a good night, Minuette…”

Chapter 6: Twilight and Minuette

View Online

Twilight and Minuette were both sleeping soundly under the sheets as the sun slowly rose in the sky, streaming light through the window. Minuette was sleeping on the right side of the bed with her frazzled mane and bags under eyes. Twilight slept on the left side with a frazzled mane and bags under her eyes. All of a sudden, a foal’s wailing shot her eyes straight open. Minuette slowly woke up groaning and turned towards the crib with Moondancer. She was crying and clinging to the bars with a saggy diaper swaying between her back legs.

The tired blue mare groaned and turned to Twilight, who was now stretching her wings as she stumbled out of bed and yawned, “It's my turn. I got her.”

Minuette laid on the bed, watching her partner slowly levitate the foal out of the crib and onto a changing pad on the ground. Twilight began to change the soaked foal. Minuette let out a weary sigh, still shaken by the wake-up call. “Twilight. You're forgetting the powder,” she said.

“Thanks…” Twilight’s voice was very low-pitched.

Twilight proceeded with the change and stumbled over to the diaper bag, taking out the powder as sprinkled it on Moondancer’s rump. She whimpered and kicked about throughout the change as Twilight did her best to put it on.

“I still can’t believe it’s morning already.” Minuette threw the covers off her her body and shook herself awake, rubbing her eyes as got to her feet. “I guess I gotta thank Moondancer for crying like that, huh?”

“Yeah, but I think you could still use a few more hours.” Twilight took Moondancer over her shoulder and yawned, fanning her mouth. “How about you go back to sleep? I’ll feed Moondancer and have the house set up for Flurry Heart.”

”You sure you're okay with this?” Moondancer tilted her head. “Moondancer’s quite a handful, y’know.”

“It’s no problem at all.” Twilight brushed her mane and tail down with a comb until it was back to normal. “Besides. I would love to get some alone time with Moondancer.” She smiled and nuzzled her, hearing some gurgles spill from Moondancer’s mouth.

Minuette giggled herself as Moondancer took hoofuls of Twilight’s mane and put it in her mouth, slathering it with drool as she suckled on it. “OK, Twilight. Just make sure Moondancer eats at least one jar of mashed yams. And please burp her after she has a bottle, alright?”

“Don’t worry. I have everything under control.” Twilight smiled and walked down the stairs. “I’ve handled foals before.”

Minuette forced a smile and watched Twilight trot down the doors and shut the door behind her before the blue-maned mare let out a groan, slapped her hooves to her eyes, and flopped backwards onto her bed, using her magic to cover her back up as she swiftly went back to sleep.

Twilight fed Moondancer her breakfast of mashed yams, floating a pink rubber spoon into her mouth. The little unicorn was now used to the routine, as she opened and closed her mouth with each spoonful.

”Well, look at you go, Moondancer.” Twilight smiled as she took another spoonful out of the jar. “Even after waking up ten times last night.”

Moondancer finally spat up a glob of the foal food right into Twilight’s face, clapping her hooves as she spoke in baby talk to her.

Twilight just giggled back and booped the filly’s nose. “Thanks a lot, Moonbutt.”

The messy foal put her hooves in her mouth and suckled Twilight picked up a rag and wiped her face and lifted her out of the high chair.

”Alright. A baba, then it’s playtime for you.” Twilight opened the microwave and pulled out the warmed bottle of milk, gently thrusting it into Moondancer’s mouth, prompting her to drink peacefully. “I need to get the house ready for your playdate with Flurry Heart.”

Moondancer loved having the warm foal milk. It had been apparent from the second she had her first drink as a foal. With every suckle on the amber nipple, milk ran down her belly and into her stomach, making her body warm and tingly on the inside. Soon, she gained a rhythm to her drinking, and it wasn’t long before her bottle was empty and she continued to suckle, despite there being nothing left.

She sat there for quite some time, almost missing the knocking that came from the door. Twilight instantly put Moondancer on her back as she slowly trotted to the door wondering to herself, that can’t be Shining and Cadence. They said they wouldn’t be here until the afternoon...

Twilight opened the door to see Shining Armor and Cadence with frazzled manes and bags under their eyes, standing outside with a energetic Flurry Heart in a stroller bouncing in excitement.

“Good morning, Twilight.” Cadence yawned, covering her mouth. “Sorry about being early, but we found this train that went direct to Canterlot and we didn’t wanna risk Flurry having an accident on the way up.”

Twilight hugged Cadence and Shining Armor and replied with a smile, “Morning, you two. Good to see you both.”

Flurry Heart giggled, but Moondancer turned away and hid behind Twilight’s mane, whimpering something in foal speak.

“Is that Moondancer?” Cadence noticed the foal scurrying into Twilight’s hair. “Aww… She looks a lot cuter than you made her out to be in your letter.”

Twilight nodded. “Yeah, she’s a pretty good filly most of the time. In fact, I just changed and fed her a few seconds ago.”

“Most of the time?” Shining Armor tilted his head.

“Yeah. No promises if she’ll behave fully today.” Twilight blushed and rubbed the back of her mane, pulling Moondancer out of it. “But hopefully, my little moony, you’ll be a good little foal for us, right?”

Moondancer took one more look at Flurry and cooed, putting a hoof to her mouth, suckling on it unbeknownst. Once a smile crept onto her face, she yanked her hoof out of her mouth and clapped both of them together, laughing in glee.

Twilight led Shining and Cadence in with Flurry Heart and they placed their foals in the living room and watch them crawl off to play with the toys. As they did, Minuette came down the stairs with her mane tied in a bun and a bathrobe around her coat.

She blinked at seeing Cadence and Shining, soon shaking herself fully awake in seconds. “Princess Cadence! Prince Shining! I...I didn’t expect you to come so early...” she muttered

“Oh, it’s no bother at all. Minuette, was it?” Cadence asked, watching the robed mare come down the stairs. “I take it you’re helping Twilight with Moondancer?”

“Yeah. She’s a bit of a handful, but we’re getting along just fine with her.” Minuette chuckled and looked down at her little bundle of chaos. “She woke us up just from crying today, believe it or not.”

“Heh. I’m right there with you, sister.” Shining Armor chuckled. “I can’t even count how many wake-up calls we’ve had ever since we had Flurry...”

“Tell me about it.” Both Twilight and Cadence chimed in harmony, before sharing a little chuckle with each other.

The three grown ponies quickly turned their attention to Flurry Heart and Moodancer who were both busy building blocks and seemed unaware of their presence. Flurry was scattering letters around while Moondancer was making the tallest tower she could.

”Aww… They’re doing so well together.” Cadence smiled at the foals and watched then continue playing with the blocks.

“Yeah. Hopefully They can stay this way just a bit longer.” Shining Armor nodded. “We don’t want ‘em having any accidents this early on.”

“So, how was Moondancer this morning?” Minuette asked as the two of them watched Moondancer build higher. “She wasn’t too much trouble?”

“She was fine,” said Twilight, “But she was a little fussy when it came to changing. Almost like she didn’t want to wear a new diaper.”

“It's fine, Twilight. I'm not angry with you.” Minuette shook her head. “Mom and dad always told me I didn’t like wearing diapers when I was a foal, so I can’t blame Moondancer for trying not to wear one.”

Minuette turned to the foals just as Flurry Hearts wings accidentally knocked the tower making the foals yelp. Cadence just beamed a smile as she took out a present wrapped in a pink bow. Minuette looked at the package with a raised brow as Cadence said, “Look. I know that Moondancer will only be a foal for a few more weeks, but I wanted to give you something. Hopefully it could help if she gets cranky.”

She drifted the package to Minuette and ripped it open, revealing a small snail plushie. “Hey. Isn’t this Flurry Heart’s whammy?”

Cadence said, “Kinda. I just thought it could help calm her down if she gets fussy.”

“Yea, it can be useful if nothing else calms her down.” Twilight nodded and smiled down at the plush toy. “Thanks, Cadence.”

Minuette cooed, ”Moondancer. Look what Auntie Cady got you. It’s a widdwe whammy!”

Moondancer turned and gaped at the plushie, waddling over to it with her diaper crinkling every step of the way. Minuette put the plush snail into her hooves and hugged it closely as Flurry Heart came over. Moondancer showed it off and Flurry just squealed, making the adults all laugh together.

“Oh. This is adorable.” Twilight’s wings fluttered at the sight. “We need to have these two play more often.”

“Of course we should. Moondancer would love to have a playmate.” Minuette nodded.

Moondancer looked back and started bouncing on her diaper with Flurry quickly joining in.

“I think they agree with you on that,” said Shining Armor.

Cadence looked over to Minuette and Twilight and asked, ”How about we stay here in Canterlot and hang out for a little bit?”

”But where would we stay, dear?” Shining Armor cocked one of his brows.

“Duh. Your parents’ place.” Cadence scoffed and rolled her eyes. “They won’t mind if we stayed for a few days.” She then turned to Twilight and Minuette. “Also, if Twilight and Minuette want, we can have them bring Moondancer over to the Crystal Empire too.”

Minuette was about to open her mouth to the idea, but Twilight leapt into the air and let out a scream.

“Where’s Moondancer and Flurry Heart?!” She exclaimed loudly.

Minuette and Cadence both jumped up in unison as well, seeing that the foals had disappeared. The three mares rushed into the kitchen to find Flurry Heart and Moondancer throwing jars of mashed peas at the wall, giggling and babbling the entire time. The adults all began to light their horns, but Flurry Heart’s own magic grabbed Minuette as she flew off down the hall and upstairs, dragging her along.

“Twilight!” cried Minuette as her head smashed against each and every one of the stairs up to her room.

“Hold on, Minuette! We’re coming!” Twilight unfurled her wings and gave chase with Cadence by her side, leaving Shining Armor with Moondancer.

“Alright then…” Shining Armor slowly moved closer to Moondancer, watching as she continued to make a mess in the kitchen. “Stay quite, Shining, old boy. You don’t wanna surprise her…” He tiptoed towards the foal, taking every step as quietly as he could. “Gotcha!” He finally dived at her, but she used her magic to teleport away and reappear right on top of him, laughing as he fell through the table, leaving splinters underneath.

“Unca pway!” Moondancer cheered and used her magic to lift herself up in the air, laughing as she floated in front of his face.

“It’s gonna be one of those days, isn’t it?” Shining Armor groaned as he watched Moondancer put herself by the sink, issuing him a challenge.

Moondancer and Flurry Heart were both giggling and splashing about in the kitchen sink with their diapers now soaked with water from the inside out. All the while unaware of Twilight, Cadance, and Shining surrounding the two of them, But they were too engrossed in their playtime to notice the adults closing in.

Shining turned to the mares and whispered, “Alright. We need to go up to them slowly and grab ‘em before they escape.”

“Okay, Captain Obvious.” Twilight smirked at her brother.

Cadence shook her head and whispered back, “I should do it. I'm fast and Flurry Heart trusts me the most. I can act like I'm playing along and nab them when they least expect it.”

“Cadence, are you sure that'll work?” Minuette tilted her head at Cadence.

Cadence turned to the big ponies and grinned. “Trust me, I got this.”

The pink alicorn turned to the foals with a innocent smile as she slowly walked to them, almost getting a splash of water from their tiny hooves. “Hey, girls. What are you two doing?” she asked.

They both turned babbling at her and raised their hooves as Cadence arced her neck over the two of them. They both reached up and stroked her neck, laughing as they painted it with tap water.

“Oh, how cute.” Cadence laughed as her neck got slathered in water. “Do you two want a hug?”

She lifted her hooves and tried to hug them, only for Flurry and Moondancer to light up their horns in perfect sync. Tapping them together, the foals both vanished in a blast of blue and pink light, then reappeared by the stairs as they shot up to the bedroom, cloaked in magical auras. “Flurry! Get back here!”

The group ran up the steps to Minuette’s room where the foals were now grabbing the giant pink diaper bag and were decorating the room with foal powder and diapers, laughing as they flittered over the floor, shaking the bag everywhere.

Twilight quickly lit her horn and engulfed the foals into a magic bubble and stomped her hoof on the ground. “That’s enough, you two.”

Moondancer began whimpering and wailed as loudly as she could, causing the big ponies to cover their ears as her sharp cries struck their ears. Flurry Heart grunted as she squinted her tiny eyes and fired a tiny beam at the bubble, causing it to break into pieces. This gave her and Moondancer enough time to fly out of the window and down the streets of Canterlot.

“No! Not again!” Shining Armor ran to the window and flopped his body out of it as the foals escaped.

Cadence groaned, slapping her hoof to her head. “Remember the last time she did this? It took us and the whole royal guard an entire afternoon to find her.”

Twilight turned to Cadence. “How about Minuette and I go out to find the two of them? You and Shining Armor should stay here and see if they come back.”

“Ugh. Fine, but be sure to be careful, Twilight.” Shining Armor climbed back into the house and put his hoof on her shoulders. “You know how Flurry Heart can get if she's startled.”

The two mares ran off while Cadence turned towards Shining Armor and asked, “Are you sure we should let them go by themselves? I mean it's unlikely Flurry Heart will come back by herself, but...”

Shining sighed, “I don't know, but they seem capable to find them. Besides you're exhausted. You should go lie down for a bit.”

“No. I have to go as well.” Cadence wiped the sweat off of her face and looked out the street. “Who knows what mayhem those two can get up to?”

Flurry Heart and Moondancer were waddling around Canterlot in their diapers, babbling happily like nothing was wrong. Moondancer turned to see a noble couple out for a walk with a foal carriage. Flurry pointed and the two floated over the carriage and plopped inside along a little filly. She had a light blue coat and green eyes with a swirly light green mane and a stubby little horn. The foal was dressed in a little cute pink frilly bonnet and a pink poofy diaper.

The foal gasped at two new fillies jumped in her carriage. Flurry Heart turned towards her and snuggled next to the foal as Moondancer did the same. She looked around and found some pacifiers, slipping them into the mouths of her new friends. They all giggled together and started babbling away at each other until the hood of the carriage was lifted.

“Darling? Come over here.” A mare called from the hood of the carriage. “I think we have some newcomers.”

The stallion came over and jumped backwards. “Whoa! I thought we only had one foal!”

“Of course we only have one foal.” She lifted Flurry and Moondancer out of the carriage. “These two must’ve slipped in somehow.”

Flurry Heart squealed, unfurling her wings as she darted off down another street, with Moondancer following behind her in a magical field. The parents simply shrugged as they watched the foals fly off, only for Twilight and Minuette to dart after them.

Twilight squealed, “They’re heading towards Canterlot Castle! We have to get them before Celestia does!”

“Less talking and more running!” Minuette picked up the pace, going from a run to a full speed gallop.

The guards tried to block the foals, but Flurry Heart and Moondancer phased through the walls and into the palace’s courtyard.

As they entered the palace, Celestia was busy holding a court, talking to some nobles. She turned to see the foals scampering though and they went to the kitchen, flying past bakers and counters as they tried to hide from Twilight and Minuette.

“Oh no no no no no no no no no!” Twilight flew into the kitchen at lightspeed, slamming the heels of her hooves on the floor as she skidded across the tiles. She stopped inches away from a giant cake, right next to Moondancer and Flurry Heart, who just laughed as she got back up to her hooves.

“Right…” Twilight lowered her brows and fired two beams at the foals, trapping them in pure magicite. They couldn’t move, talk, or use any magic to escape. “Bad foals. Behave. Don’t make me angry.”

“Twilight? What are you doing?” Celestia trotted into the room with Minuette closely behind her. “And why do you have Flurry and Moondancer trapped in magicite?”

“Celestia, I want to be fair with you, but I’m afraid that I can’t.” Twilight took a deep breath and slapped her face with her hoof. “These two foals are the most out of control, dangerous, and mischievous little things I’ve ever had to deal with. I HAVE to have them trapped like this, otherwise we’ll never get them under control!”

“Twilight. You know as well as I do that magicite is illegal.” Celestia shook her head and lowered her brows. “You might be a princess, but even you are not above the law. Now, as the ruler of Equestria, I demand that you release these two at once.”

“B-B-But…” Twilight tried to find some resolve, but she couldn’t muster up the strength to talk down her teacher. Hanging her head, she fired up her horn and broke the magical ice, freeing the foals from their confines.

Celestia slowly walked up to the foals lit up her horn and fired a radiant beam of light down on the foals. “Arcentium Slumberas!” She boomed.

As the two foals were soaked in Celestia’s magic, they both started to feel woozy. They wobbled around as the light hammered down on them and forced their eyelids shut. Then eventually, with no more resistance, both Flurry and Moondancer fell asleep, right before her eyes.

“Have you not learned that spell yet, Twilight?” Celestia asked, hoofing the foals over to her and Minuette. “If not, then I suggest you re-educate yourself. Minuette could use it too, given the look of things.”

“Wh-what did you do?” Twilight took the foals back, still stunned by Celestia’s spell.

“I showed you a tiny speck of my power. A sleeping spell.” Celestia walked out the door and back to the court. “Look it up and learn it inside out. I normally don’t give my secrets away, but you two need to get your kids under control. And if Twilight’s going to resort to magicite, then there’s only one way to solve your crisis.” The door slammed shut behind her.

Twilight simply stood there, jaw agape as the doors swung in and out before her eyes. She breathed in and out through her nose for a few seconds before finally brushing her mane down.

“Minuette. My castle. Now.” Twilight’s voice seemed like it was innocent, but deep down, she was still seething with rage.

“Twilight? What’s gotten into you?” Minuette watched as Twilight pushed the doors open. “You don’t seem like yourself…”

“Oh, it’s nothing. Just foalsitting stress…” She gritted her teeth together and began to walk out of the castle. “You know how it is. Foals ruin your life, so you have to make sure that you don’t ruin theirs otherwise you look like a monster. Am I a monster? No I’m not. Why are you looking at me that way?!”

“Y-yeah… this isn’t really working out that well.” Minuette scooped up the foals and walked off. “I’m gonna head back to the house. You go and get Celestia’s sleeping spell. Then, come back and teach me it.”

Chapter 8: A final Foalish day

Shining and Cadence were both sleeping in Minuette’s while Moondancer and Flurry Heart were sleeping together soundly right beside them in their crib.

Twilight was downstairs going over spell books muttering to herself as she flipped through the countless pages. After a quick frisk of one book, she tossed it away and picked up another one.

“Twilight what are you doing?” asked Minuette.

“What does it look like I'm doing? I’m looking for a cure, Minuette” Twilight shouted and violently rubbed her temples. “I can't do this anymore! I need to find a cure right now!

Minuette sighed. “Twilight, you can go if you want. Nothing is stopping you. I can take care of her on my own.”

“I mean it's not just me, Minuette. Look at yourself, you look like as if you haven’t slept for days!” Twilight threw her hoof out towards Minuette’s disheveled mane. “I'm sure it's been some time now. There could be some spell here that could change her back.”

Minuette shook her head. “Twilight. It’s fine. I’m telling you, there’s no need for trying. You should just go home. I’m sure Ponyville and your friends miss you.”

The purple alicorn just slid her hoof down her face. “Oh, stop it, Minuette. If you're going to have to endure this then I will too. I was just trying to help you out.”

Minuette shouted back, “Oh, really!? Because it seems to me you're more interested in just turning Moondancer back to normal for yourself! Like I said, if you can’t handle it, then leave!”

Twilight stomped her hoof as hard as she could. “I won’t!” In her fury, she caused a magical blast to erupt around her feet and knock everything around her over.

“Twilight…?” Minuette shakily got back to her feet, looking Twilight in her fiery eyes. “What the heck’s gotten into you?”

Twilight, seeing her friend trembling on the floor beneath her, slowed her breathing and finally regained her consciousness. The fire in her eyes faded away as the aura around her horn vanished. “I… I need some time alone…” Hurriedly, she scampered out the door and ran out onto the streets of Canterlot, leaving the door wide open in her wake.

A few hours later, Cadence and Shining were packing their things and getting Flurry Heart back in her foal buggy. They all came downstairs to see Minuette just finish tidying up Twilight’s outburst.

“Leaving already?” she asked.

Cadence nodded. “Yeah, sorry. It’s just that with what happened this morning, Shining and I really need a break and we’d rather not have a repeat of what happened back at the castle.”

“Yeah. We better get going before Flurry causes another disaster.” Shining Armour already began pushing her out. “It was nice meeting you, Ms. Minuette

“Yeah. You too.” Minuette curled her tail around her Cutie Mark and looked away. “Maybe when Moondancer calms down, we can have the two play again.”

“Speaking of which, I heard what you two were fighting about earlier.” Cadence walked over to Minuette and stroked her mane. “You and her shouldn't blame each other for—”

“Cadence, I appreciate what you’re trying to say, but Twilight got really angry at me and just ran off. In fact, she’s the reason I was cleaning everything up earlier.” Minuette groaned and flopped onto her flanks. “She’s desperately trying to find a cure as we speak, but I don’t think she’s gonna come back anytime soon.”

“Well…” Cadence looked out into the streets of Canterlot, feeling the cold wind dance around her mane and across her coat. “I can’t chase after Twilight. And neither can Shining Armor. But I do know that Twilight’s gonna need to calm down if she wants to fix this.”

“Y-yeah. I guess so…” Minuette gave a reluctant nod to Cadence. Before she could say or do anything else, she heard Moondancer whine and reach out for Flurry as she did the same. “I should let her say goodbye real fast.”

Minuette hovered Moondancer down with magic and made her give Flurry Heart a big hug. They both giggled and started babbling. Flurry was going to light her horn but, Minuette pulled Moondancer away, cooing softly into her ears. The words she said made Moondancer kick about in her diaper in frustration until she gave a small pout.

Flurry heart waved goodbye as Cadence put a pacifier in the little foal's mouth and nuzzled her gently. “Alright, cutie. You're still in big trouble when we get home. Time out for a day, and you're going to think about how much trouble you caused, little lady.”

She pouted as well.

”Oh no, you don't.” Shining smirked. “The pouty eyes aren’t gonna work this time.”

As they slowly pushed Flurry Heart out the door, Cadence turned and waved goodbye to Moondancer who gave a little wave back. Minuette pulled Moondancer close as she went to the kitchen to feed the little foal.

No sooner had she started when Twilight landed back at the door and closed it up properly. She proceeded to lock it as she looked out through the window. “They’re gone, aren’t they?”

Minuette nodded silently. “You can catch up with them if you want. They just this second.”

“No. I'll write to them later…” Twilight brushed her tail down. “Seems like inviting Flurry was a bad idea.”

“I wouldn't say it was all bad.” Minuette lifted a hoof. “I mean, Moondancer did make a good friend.” She started spoonfeeding mashed peas into the foal’s mouth.

“I suppose. But it also made me think of how well of a mother you are.” Twilight curled her wings back up to her sides.

“You're always so calm, gentle, and understanding, Twilight.” Minuette didn’t even look back. “But with me, I freak out everytime I lose sight of Moondancer and her magic’s impossible to handle. To be honest, I think you're right... I'm no good with foals.”

“Minuette, I know this isn’t you…” Twilight came over to Minuette’s side and wiped her hoof down her face. “You’re always so bubbly, cheerful, and full of life. I’m sure that somepony with a can-do attitude like that can handle foals; even if they’ve got no experience on the line or never had a kid themselves…”

“Y.. You sure about that?” Minuette felt a teardrop hang from her eyelids.

“I know about that.” Twilight nodded and pulled Minuette into a small hug. “We’ll get through this together, I promise.”

As Twilight and Minuette hugged each other, Moondancer just gazed at them, drool hanging from her lips. She was about to coo and reach out for the spoon, but her hoof started to glow a bright shade of gold. Babbling, she looked down at herself as the rest of her body began to shine as well. Slowly but surely, she started to get bigger and bigger, rapidly growing more hair on her mane and tail. Her diaper struggled to keep up with her body and tore into pieces. Just as her expanding flesh began to break the highchair to splinters, her teeth grew back, and she started to feel her mind restore as well. She became a filly, then a teenager, and then all the way back to a full-grown mare shortly after.

“Nggh… What happened?” She asked, sitting in a pile of torn diaper cloth, wood splinters, and baby food. “And why do I smell bad?”

“Moondancer?” Twilight slowly broke out of Minuette’s hug and turned around. Sure enough, Moondancer sat before her, a full grown mare once more. “Oh my Celestia! You’re back!” And she threw herself on her.

“Uh... you OK, Twilight?” Moondancer pulled Twilight off of her body. “Did I miss something since you did that spell on me?”

“Oh, you missed out on a lot of stuff, Moondancer.” Minuette’s wide smile returned. “But first, we should get everything cleaned up.”

Twilight was about to wipe Moondancer’s body clean, but her wipe was blocked and pushed away.

”Thanks, but I can take care of myself.” Moondancer stood up and tiptoed around the wooden shards by her feet. Once she was clear of the mess, she used her magic to easily gather all the pieces and stack them in a neat pile. She then proceeded to take Twilight’s wipe and clean herself from top to bottom. “Anyway, you were saying?”

Moondancer was now sitting on a couch in Minuette’s living room, sipping a cup of tea, she tried and struggled to keep her tea in her mouth as she absorbed each of the events that had happened since she was a foal. Finally, she said, “I was that bad?”

“Yeah. You were like Flurry’s evil twin or something!” Twilight nodded.

Minuette just gave Twilight a scowl. “What she means to say is that you were a bit of a handful at times, Moondancer. But now you’re back to normal.”

“Wow... It just surprising, is all.” Moondancer rubbed the back of her head and sniffed the acrid smell of her old diapers. “I mean, how long has it been?”

Twilight sighed. “About three weeks. And we were expecting you to be foal for at least another.”

“It just seems so strange,” said Moondancer. “I mean the spell seemed to have stripped me of all my memory of being a foal. I don't remember anything. I just thought I teleported from the library to here.”

”So… you don't remember anything?” Twilight’s eyes widened. “Running to Celestia’s palace? Causing a ruckus at the child’s library? Waking up ten times a night because you didn’t have Minuette or you pooped yourself?”

“Twilight, you're doing it again...” Minuette snickered.

Twilight just blushed and forced a grin. “Sorry. Got carried away there.”

Moondancer shrugged. “Seriously, I have no idea. And I do apologize for all of this. Both of you sacrificed a lot just for me…” she started tearing up about the whole thing before Minuette came and gave her a big hug.

“You have nothing to be sorry about,” she said. “Even though it was a bit difficult. I loved you like you were my own and I enjoyed being a mother.”

Moondancer hugged Minuette close and Twilight smiled at the touching scene only to look downtrodden as she got up. ”Well I better report to Celestia and tell her you're okay, and that we should get this place cleaned up.”

Moondancer nodded. “Right. It's the least I can do.” Soon the three went upstairs to start taking all the foal things away.

After the last of the toys and foal clothes were stored away onto a wagon, Moondancer let out a hefty sigh at the sight. “Wow… This must’ve cost a lot.”

Twilight flew over and laughed. “Oh, don’t worry about that, we're giving all of this to the Canterlot daycare. After all, one mare’s trash is another’s treasure, right? Plus, it's my fault for turning you into a foal.”

“Twilight. Stop blaming yourself.” Moondancer stroked Twilight’s shoulders. “I pushed you into using the spell without testing it first, this was my fault too.”

“Hmm… I guess you’re right about that…” Twilight could barely even remember the day she had cast the spell on her. So many restless nights had passed since and she was still shuddering at the memories. “I guess we can both share the blame on this, right?”

“Yeah. You could say that.” Moondancer smiled and bobbed her head. “Now you’d better get going. I’m sure the kids there can’t wait to see all this.”

“See you later, Moondancer.” Twilight smiled and waved her off before strapping herself to the carriage and walking off. Despite the heavy load, she was still able to haul it all with ease.

“Hey, Minuette?” Moondancer turned to her. “Thanks for caring for me.”

Minuette slowly walked up and brushed her mane out of her face. ”It’s alright. I mean, despite all of it, I thought that being a mother was one of the best feelings I've ever had.”

Moondancer smiled back into Minuette’s pupils. Then, she leaned in close to her ears. “For some reason, even though I can’t remember much from when I was a foal… I do have feelings for you. I...” Her whole face flushed red as her eyes shifted around. “I better get going.”

“Wait!” Minuette held Moondancer by the rump just before she was about to take off. She stepped forward and gave her a kiss on the cheek, only to receive one back “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome,” Moondancer said. “One more thing. I have a copy of the spell that regressed me. Maybe you might wanna… hold onto it? Just in case.”

“Well… not yet.” Minuette shook her head. “Perhaps in a year when I have a breather from your last crazy exploits.”

Moondancer cracked a coy smile. “Maybe you’d like to have a go at being the kid. Then maybe I could see what you had to go through…”

“You would do that to me?” Minuette’s mouth drooped open. “I… I don’t even…”

“Not right now, silly filly.” Moondancer let out a chuckle. “Whenever you feel comfortable with it. I don’t wanna make you into a baby out of nowhere; especially not after the last three weeks.”

“I was about to say!” Minuette gasped.

“Don’t worry about it. I’m not gonna do it to you right away.” Moondancer smirked. “Maybe one day when you feel like you need a vacation or something, I could give you a little helping hand…” Her blush still retained even now. “...Mom.”
