The Tale Of Colossus

I used to be a human, but now I've been turned into a metal/ steam golem.

I'm your normal everyday human. I go to school, hang with friends, listen to music...you know, human stuff. I'm also a brony. I'm not hardcore like most people. I like the show, I listen to some of the music, but I'm not obsessed with it. Unlike most bronies, I don't want to go to Equestria. I live a good life, have a nice, caring family, have friends that would take a bullet for me any day, what could possibly go wrong. Well, with my luck, everything. I somehow get dragged into some screwed up version of Equestria where everything is NOT what it seems. It seems like Equestria is the only utopia in this world. Everywhere else is a living hell. Also, getting your soul put into a steam/metal golem by some crazy unicorn trying to out due another inventor in his town by using black magic isn't that fun. Especially when your having dinner with your family and you just pass out, hardly breathing.

Prologue: What Luck!

View Online

Today started off as a normal day. As always, it started of with that annoying alarm clock of mine. It wasn't the new ones that had the electronic buzzing noise to it. No, it was the old school blow-your-fucking-ears-out kind. And as my luck would have it, I was right by it as it went off. I jumped and fell off the bed. I said the usual morning swears that I always do when this happens. After I finish that, I turn on my radio and start up some music. Next, I'd take a shower, then make that very risky run from the bathroom to my room while naked, and then pick out my clothes for the day. So, after getting dressed I'd go downstairs and say good morning to my mom, who was currently fixing breakfast.

"Morning mom, what's for breakfast?" I asked while taking a seat at the table. She looked back from the stove and smiled.

"Bacon, pancakes, and sausage. Hows that?" My mouth started watering at the mention of bacon and sausage. If there's one thing I love more than anything on this earth, it's those two things. I don't know what'd I'd ever do if I had to go vegetarian.

"Sounds good to me. Wait a minute, what kind of pancakes?" My mom laughed a little.

"Double chocolate chip of course. Your favorite." My mouth began to water even more.

"Mom, I love you." She laughed again.

"I love you too son, now here you go." My mom looked at my neck for a minute as she sat the food on the table. "Where's your necklace at?" I felt around my neck, and I got that usual split second panic attack before I remembered I took it off before I took a shower.

"Oh, it's probably in the bathroom. Lemme go get it, be right back." I said as I sprung up from my chair and ran up the stairs. About this time, my Dad was walking out of the room yawning while scratching his stubble on his chin. "Morning Dad." I said while going into the bathroom.

"Morning son." He drowsily said while going into the other bathroom to shave and wash his face. I closed the door, for privacy purposes, and looked around.

"Now, where could it be?" I looked all around for it, but as I was getting ready to go check my room, I looked behind my moms bottle of lotion. "Ah, there you are. Sometimes I forget you because I wear you so much." I looked up into the mirror to get a final look at myself. "Black hair? Check. Hazel eyes? Check. Gold necklace? Check. Rounded out chin? Check. Smoothly shaved?" I ran my hand across my chin. "Check. Okay, that's everything. I'm good to go." I opened the door and made my way down the stairs again. Today was a good day, mostly because it was raining. There's one thing I love, and that's rain. It's so calming and relaxing to just stand under it and feel it hit your face.

I quickly sat back down and ate breakfast, then left the house to go to school.

I pulled up into the parking lot of my school, let the song I was listening to over my speakers finish, and got out of the car.

"One Trick Pony. Not a bad song." Said Tyler as he leaned up against his car.

"I know, it's one of my favorites. Alongside Stuck In Time and the whole Baloon Party album." Tyler laughed.

"Hey, a whole album doesn't count as a song." Tyler said as I began to get out of my car.

"Yes it does, to me anyways." I looked over to him. He was wearing his Rainbow Dash shirt, and had a badge of her on his jacket.

"Anyways, school is starting in a bit. Come on, we can talk about Saturdays episode once we get inside." He started walking off. I quickly grabbed my backpack from the back seat and jogged back up beside him.

"Man, I can't believe season 2 is already over. Still, the finale was crazy. I didn't expect...uh...what was her name?" I said as I caught up to Tyler.

"You mean Cadence?" He looked over to me.

"No, the other one...come on...what was it...Chrysalis! That was it! I didn't expect that. I thought Cadence just turned into a douche, but I guess I was wrong." Tyler laughed.

"Well, my cousin and I thought it was an evil clone or something along that line." Now it was my turn to laugh.

"Seriously?" Tyler nodded, I laughed more.

"Anyways, lets go see what everyone else thought about it." I said as we entered the school.

Okay, I'm a brony. Sue me. I like the show My Little Pony, alongside with 3 or 4 of my friends. We listen to the music, watch the show, and some obsess over it. They constantly talk about going to want to go to Equestria, which is a constant subject at the lunch table. I went through my first two classes pretty easily. It was nearing the end of school, and it was beginning to wind down. It was now lunch time, and as I walked through the lunch line I noticed the guys were already sitting down at the table in their usual spots. I got my food and took a seat between Tyler and Carter.

"So, Max, what would you do in Equestria." Tyler said as he looked over to me. I sighed.

"Come on guys. You all know I don't really want to go there. It's nice watching the show and all, but I mean yea, I'd like to meet the mane 6 alongside Celestia and Luna bu-"

"It's Woona" Carter interjected.

"It's obviously Luna, you can hear the 'L' in the beginning of her name very clearly. It's just fun to call her Woona. Anyways, I have a good life here, I have you guys, I have everything I need. So, I'm fine where I am." I smiled at them and went back to eat. As they continued about the subject, which eventually got to R34, I began to think of what would happen if I got teleported to Equestria. Would I be a human, a pony, or what? Would I be able to find a way home? If I couldn't, could I deal with the stress of missing my family and friends? Okay, dropping it there. I don't want to think about it. Besides, it's impossible that Equestria is real. It's just a show made by Lauren Faust, not an actual place.

"Hey Max, did you get that R34 game I sent you of-" Carter looked over to me.

"Yes, yes I did." I wanted to end this as fast as possible.

"Did you actually wa-"

"No, No I didn't...you know why? Because I don't do that kind of stuff. It's not right." I really think its wrong to look at that kind of stuff. I admit, curiosity got the better of me, and I looked. Some of the stuff was actually good, I didn't do anything, but some was just...awful, and I'll leave it at that.

"Alright man, but we will get you to eventually, we swear it." Carter and Tyler laughed. Soon lunch came to an end, thank god. Nothing interesting happened the rest of the day, and as the last bell rang I quickly ran out and got in my car and headed home.

Somewhere in Equestria

A lone unicorn stallion sat in his workshop, finally fitting the last piece into his lives work. It was magnificent, unlike anything ponykind had created. It was said to be impossible, but he proved them all wrong. He took off his goggles and stared at the mixture between a titanium and steam golem.

"I-It's beautiful." A tear flowed down his cheek. "All my life, they said it was impossible. They said I was insane, but no, I showed them. I showed them ALL." He started to laugh. It started out very small, but eventually it turned evil and dark. "Haha, this machine, The Colossus, is a miracle in itself. I somehow managed to combine steam powered gears, pulley systems, pipes that cool it constantly with the flow of never ending water, and a power output that can easily outdo twenty stallions. Just combine that with a thick titanium outer layer, and combine it with a regenerative spell. The spell is kind of slow, but now you have the most indestructible thing ever, unless blown up or something. Still, there's slight cracks between the joints due to steam release valves. Now, where did I put that book." The stallion went over across from the towering monstrosity he made. "Ah, here it is. A book made to put someponies soul into something. If anything, it will be mine, and then I shall get revenge on all who made fun or doubted me." He let out another laugh. "However, black magic is risky. It's also been banned from use, as it has dire consequences to the user." He brought a hoof up to his chin and pondered for a second. "Oh well, you only live once." He said as he sat the book down, opened it, and began to say something in an entirely different language. His horn began to glow, and he began to grimace at the strain of the spell.

Back on Earth

I pulled into the driveway and turned off my car. I walked into the house to the smell of chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and other good foods. I sat my backpack down beside the door and walked into the kitchen. I saw mom and dad at the table, waiting for me to come and sit down and eat.

"Sorry to keep you waiting." They just nodded and started eating. I laughed. "And here I though I was hungry. Oh well, time to dig i-" I was interrupted by an intense pain shooting throughout my body. I grabbed onto my chest. It felt like something was being ripped out of me. My parents panicked, and began to ask me if I was ok. I just screamed out in agony, confirming that I wasn't. Then as they got up to call an ambulance, I just sat straight up, had a blank face, and sat my arms to my side. My parents stopped and walked over to me.

"Hey, Max, are you ok-"

*SPLAT*

I face planted my mashed potatoes, and I was gone.

I awoke in some kind of void. I was surrounded by darkness, just floating there in space. I saw something white float around me.

"So, you are the one that was chosen." Said an obviously female voice.

"Chosen? Chosen for what?" I said while flailing around, trying to get a sense of if I was standing upright or not.

"You will see Maximillion. Your long adventure awaits. Now go, and do my will." The darkness began to crack, and the feeling of falling came over me. I screamed, and fell for I don't know how long.

The unicorn who was casting the spell suddenly flew towards the nearest wall and dropped to the floor. His spell backfired, and he didn't know what would happen next. He stood up from the floor, rubbing his head. He hurt all over, but what he saw next made him forget everything. He looked at the golem as it started to stand up. Its eyes glowing a golden yellow, showing that it was active. As the golem stood up, it hit the roof of his workshop.

"Buck, miscalculated on the height. I guess being 8 feet tall isn't a good thing." He watched as it flexed its hands, then it looked slowly to him. It stopped, and emitted a cloud of steam from its joints. Then came the steady release of steam, almost as if it was a breathing being. Then, the golems eyes turned blue as it began to look around, and finally red. He meant to do this, that way it would show the inner feelings of the golem. He didn't know why, but when you have a mad golem, its good to stay away. He tried to leave, but the golem literally walked through the wall of his house and into the forest. As the pony tried to escape the collapsing house, a support beam fell on the pony. He cried out in agony as his spine was crushed, as well as his ribs. He sat there, watching the golem march into the forest. He coughed up a bit of blood, and saw something walk into view. It was a creature that stood on two legs, and quite a bit shorter than the golem.

"Now you see the consequences of black magic." The stallion coughed up more blood. "You just ripped a poor soul from his own body and put it in that abomination of a thing you call a golem." The creature turned around. It had blonde hair about halfway down its back, and had sapphire blue eyes. "Now, it's my turn to rip a soul from someone." It got a sadistic smile on its face as it began to touch the stallions forehead. He tried to scream, but all that came out was a gurgling sound as he couched up more blood. Finally, he stopped moving. "There, the deed is done. A soul for a soul. Good deal if I do say so myself." The thing laughed as it disappeared into the night.

I finally stopped falling, and it felt like I was sitting down. I tried to stand up, but something felt different as I began to stand up. My vision was the same, but everything was much....smaller. It looked like I was in a small cabin, and once I finished standing up, I felt myself hit something.

"Buck, miscalculated on the height. I guess being 8 feet tall isn't a good thing." I heard a voice say to my right. So, I moved and looked to my right. What I saw I couldn't believe. It was a pony, kind of like the ones from MLP. However, this one looked like he had been hard at work. His brown mane was messed up, tail as well, and he had bags under his eyes. He was a blue unicorn stallion that had a tan cog for his cutie mark. I just stood there, starting at him.

"You see that pony, he's the one that ripped you from your world and put you in this thing." I saw something appear on my shoulder. It appeared to be a small girl of some sort. However, she looked much older, and the unicorn didn't seem to notice her. I began to think. He's the one that took me from my world. He's the one that took me away from my loving family, my caring friends, my good life. Now, all I'm left with is...nothing. Also, I need to find a way to get home. I looked back to the small human on my shoulder. She smiled, but it wasn't normal. It was...twisted. It made me feel cold deep inside, kind of like she was staring straight into my soul.

"Kill him." She said. "Kill the one who took you away from your precious life. Finish the deed that he started, a soul for a soul right?" I began to think. This pony, he meant good intentions. All of the ponies were good in Equestria. So, he must have done this for some good cause. Maybe he's an inventor for the Royal Family? Either way, the only thing this pony has done is take me from my world. I mean, it can't be that hard right? I looked down, and the woman on my shoulder was getting impatient.

"What are you doing? KILL HIM, FINISH THE CONTRACT!" I looked to her, her eyes went from the sapphire blue, to red as blood. I got this sense of rage inside me. It felt like I was being controlled. I looked at the pony as my eyes went red. However, I said I would not harm this pony, and I meant it. I screamed on the inside, and ran out of the house.

"NO YOU FOOL! GET BACK HERE AND FINISH THIS!" I ignored her and the rage that I was feeling. I just ran, and ran. My body seemed to emit a little bit of steam every time a joint would move. Eventually, I came to a stop and sat down against a tree. I heard the sound of a stream nearby, so now I can finally see what I look like. I stood up, emitting more steam from my joints, I can already tell that's going to get annoying, and began to follow the sounds. I started walking down a little path, hardly big enough for me to walk down, but I still fit. The sounds of the river started getting louder and louder, and eventually I walked into a clearing that had a lake in the middle, and a stream running to it. I walked alongside the river, noticing the glow I was giving off due to the moonlight. Finally I got to the lake and got down on my knees, and what I saw intrigued me, yet scared me. I had a face of an old school knight helmet. The usual space in the helmet used for the eyes, nose, and mouth, was covered up by a metal place that extended, and once I breathed in, I emitted a thin cloud of steam from it. I saw two yellow gems for eyes, no wonder I could see so well at night. They actually put off quite a bit of light. I stood back up, and looked the rest of me over. My armor was just like a knight, but had no weapon or shield. However, instead of being human, I was all machine. For now, I had just been silently thinking to myself, except for that one moment where that woman read my thoughts, so I decided to speak.

"H-Hello?" I experimented. "Hey, I sound kind of cool. Oh well, I'm going to keep up the silent treatment." I had the coolest voice ever. I sounded like a transformer. However, it was a bit less robotic. I still had that low voice I always had, but now it had a very slight robotic tone to it.

"Well, I'm guessing I'll just stay here for the-" I heard a growling noise, then a howl. "What was that?" I looked around, then saw at least 20 yellow eyes looking at me.

"Okay, whoever you are, come on out." I walked away from the lake, the moonlight giving me a soft glow as I walked towards the woods. I walked closer and closer, but whatever is was disappeared.

"What. Was. That." I heard a growl come from behind me. "What the- Oh crap!" I saw at least 10 wolves in front of me. However, one was a lot bigger than the others, and it was the one in front. It let out a howl, and all the others howled as well. "Alright, It looks like I'm made of metal, so what could you wolves possibly do?" I taunted. The leader jumped forward and bit my arm. Okay, apparently metal has feeling, because that bite hurt! "Wait a minute, the scratches, they're healing?" Sure enough, the damage from the bite healed up, good as new. "Alright! Let's do this!" I waved for the wolves to come at me, and one from the right ran at me. It jumped in the air as I pulled my arm back. I waited till the right moment, the wolf was about to latch onto my face, and I swung. All I saw was the scattering of wood and sap all over my face.

"Ahhh, ewww, gross. It's so sticky...I don't like it. Also, wood is stuck to me now. Well, looks like I'm jumping in the lake after this." I sighed, and went back to killing. Now three ran at me, and I charged as well. One wolf tried to go for my leg, and before it bit I lifted my leg up and crushed its head. Sap and splinters scattered on the ground, and more wolves charged. The other two that charged were quickly disposed of. One jumped in the air, I grabbed it and slammed it onto the other one. I heard two big snaps as their bodies broke in half. I saw 3 running at me, and I waited. "Haha, wolves made out of wood versus a man made of self regenerating metal. Ohh man, this is too goo- OW! What the fuck!" One wolf sneaked up on me and bit my neck, tearing into one of the revealed pipes. The wolf was quickly thrown off by me into the nearest tree. It hit the tree, and shattered. The charging wolves backed off as the leader came back in. I was currently grabbing onto the pipe that was leaking water. Eventually, the healing spell closed it up, but not before the leader jumped on me. I was knocked down to the ground, the leaders maw opening over my face. I reached up with both of my arms and grabbed a jaw in each. The wolf, who was now slobbering all over me, began to whine as I slowly pulled his jaws apart. Eventually, I heard a satisfying snap as his lower jaw got ripped of by me, and his top jaw was crushed by my sheer power. He backed off, and whined. The others backed off and ran, along with the pack leader, who left a trail of sap behind him. I sat down and began to laugh.

"HAHA, that's what you get when you mess with the....the...what am I?" I looked down to my chest, and through all the sap and wood I could make out the word 'Colossus' embedded into the right side of my chest. I mentally smiled. "Colossus, I like that. Now, time to wash off all this sap, wood, and whatever stuff I have on me." I walked back over to the lake, and started to walk into it. I just waded in the shallow part of the lake, only my head poking out. Even though I was made completely out of metal, I could still feel the coldness of the water in the lake, and it felt good. I finished getting all the gunk off and walked out of the lake. Emitting steam as my body emerged, I looked around. I saw nothing. No wolves, no other kind of enemies, nothing.

"Finally, I can get some rest. Wait a minute, can I actually sleep?" I am made of metal, however I feel tired. "Oh well, worth a try." I walked back over to a tree and laid back up against it. I acted like I closed my eyes, and I watched as the world slowly faded to black.

Author here. As you all can guess, this takes place in Rust's version of Equestria. So, who knows, maybe a crossover will happen with one of the other stories? Only time will tell.

Chapter 1: Well, My Day Gets Worse.

View Online

The sun shined in as I began to wake up. Apparently that usual minute or two blindness that you get from being human and waking up like this didn't affect me. I stood up and stretched, and released a cloud of steam with a loud howling sound. Apparently, even stretching as a...whatever I am, still feels pretty dang good. I looked towards the sun. Judging by the height of it, it was maybe around 10 or so. I just walked back into the woods, and hopefully find my way to some place to where I could talk to somebody, or would it be somepony? Anyways, I kept walking. The forest eventually turned darker, almost marsh like.\

"What the? Is that marshland, or-"

"HELP! SOMEPONY! ANYPONY! HELP ME!" I heard a woman scream back in the woods. I turned around and charged back into the woods, heading towards the voice. I didn't even care about my surroundings as I ran through the forest. I toppled trees as I ran into them, crushed bushes, scared one family of rabbits, and pissed off a Phoenix who was currently tailing me. Eventually, the bird gave up on the chase and flew off into the woods. I kept running, until I came to a clearing. What I saw, almost made me shit a brick. There, on the ground, was a mare. She had a black coat and had a scarlet red mane. She had the cutie mark of a weird kind of plant on her flank. She was currently backing up from a young dragon that looked like it was hungry. It wasn't like the ones that portrayed in the show. It wasn't old and giant, but looked to be a young one, maybe into his young adult years.

"NO, PLEASE! PLEASE DON'T EAT ME! HELP ME SOMEPONY PLEASE!" Well, I couldn't just let a damsel in distress get eaten now could I? The dragon opened his mouth and inhaled deeply. I ran as fast as my metal legs could take me. Right before the dragon breathed fire, I grabbed the mare and cuddled her up in my arms. The dragon breathed fire at me, after it was finished I sat the pony down. She looked at me in sheer terror. I felt my back burning like crazy, but I ignored it.

"Relax, I'm here to help you, not to hurt you. Now, go. Get out of here while I take care of this dragon." She nodded and ran off, but I could still feel her watching from the bushes. I looked to the green dragon, and he glared at me. I laughed.

"Oh, your pissed now that I let your meal get away? Well, come at me bro!" The dragon roared and charged at me. I simply rolled out of the way and grabbed onto its tail. Bad idea apparently, because he flung me off and into a tree. The tree was reduced to splinters on impact. I got back on my feet and ran at the dragon who was currently charging me again. This time I jumped, dodging his maw. I jumped onto his back, trying not to slide off due to the smooth scales. I laid down and grabbed one to try an hang on, and what did it do, it ripped off the dragon! I flew off as it took to the skies. I cussed at myself for not being able to do anything about it as it just started me down and flew off.

"Ha, chicken. Dragons. Not as tough as they are portrayed to-" I was cut off as I was lifted into the air. I looked up to see giant black claws around my shoulders, and above those was the green dragon from before.

"Well, round two! I wonder if I can survive a fall from," the dragon dropped me. "Heeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeee." I fell pretty fast. I was almost to the ground when a red aura surrounded me. I looked over to see the mare from before, who was apparently a unicorn, concentrating hard to slow me down. Helped a little, but I still left an indent in the ground when I hit. My joints groaned as I got out of the semi-small hole I made in the earth. I looked up as the dragon landed again. I ran over and grabbed the green scale I had ripped off of it and prepared for battle. A certain song popped into my head as I charged in to battle the dragon again.

As I got to the dragon who was getting ready to breathe fire again, I slid under him as steam bellowed from my joints. I finally got right where I want him. I stopped under him, and before he could move I punched him with all my force on his soft underbelly. The dragon roared, coughed, and roared again.

"Well, that helped a bit. I think I found a weakness. Now if only I could find a way to turn the dragon upside down so I could properly end him." I thought a bit, then something clicked. "Let's see if that will work." I looked over to the unicorn who was currently hiding behind a tree.

"Hey, think you could manage to hold him down when I tell you too?" She nods and I get back to work on the dragon. He's currently recovering from that blow I gave him. He staggers, roars, and charges me again. I begin to think, if there could be a cheesy line to say right now what would it be? I thought as the dragon got closer and closer. I got it, that will work. The dragon opened it's mouth. I jumped and grabbed onto its long, sharp teeth. It wrapped its snake like tongue around me to try and pull me in. However, that wasn't going to happen.

"Sorry bud, but I think you've already had your daily intake of iron!" I punched him in the top of his mouth, and he spat me out and roared, then flared his wings. "Not so fast. Your not flying away this time." I jump on top of his head, and grab on. The dragon takes flight while trying to use his tongue to pull me off. I kept dodging, but it eventually got annoying.

"Okay, you've lost your privilege to use your tongue. Gimme that." I grab his tongue at the next swipe and pull on it. Eventually I feel it begin to give, and the dragon's wings lose synchronization as I proceed to rip his tongue off. I hear a tearing sound as the tongue finally gives way, completely getting ripped out. The dragon whines in pain. I laugh like crazy.

"Oh man, I've never heard a dragon whine in my entire life. It's so pathetic it's funny!" I continue laughing, now swinging the dragons tongue all over the place. I stop and look down to see blood dripping from the dragons mouth. I grin, and hold the dragons tongue in front of his eyes.

"Aww, did the wittle gween dwagon woose his itty bitty tongue. I'm so sorry, here let me help you forget the pain." I smack the dragons eye with his tongue. "There, that better." The dragon breathes fire, probably cauterizing the wound. "Dammit, okay. Time to get serious." I smack the dragon in its eye with the tongue as hard as I can, making it loose full synchronization with the wings, and making us plummet to the ground. I grab onto another scale, thankfully this time it didn't fall off like the last one, which is...where did it go? Oh well, no time to worry now. The dragon and I hit the ground, the dragon being upside down. After we skid across the ground for a few hundred feet, I climb out from under him and let the now scratched, dented, and bent metal heal back into place. During that, I nodded to the unicorn who nodded and lit her horn. The dragon became surrounded by a red glow, and once it gained its senses again it began to flail around. I looked over to the mare to see her squinting and sweating like crazy. I need to do this fast. I run over and rip off one of its scales, and get on its underbelly right where the scales to the neck end. The magic around the dragons head dispersed, letting him move it freely. He lifted his head up and looked at me.

"You fool, you think you can kill me? I am a dragon, and you are nothing but a tin can." He laughed. "You have fought valiantly. Release me now and I will spare you and the mares life. I will find my food elsewhere." I didn't like his smile.

"Wait a minute, I ripped out your tongue. How are you talking?" The dragon sighed.

"Magic, now are you going to let me go or not." He was getting impatient, not good.

"Well, hmm lets see here. I could let you go, and then you'd go terrorize other places and eat other ponies to satisfy your craving. So, you know what I have to say to that?"

"What?" The dragon asked.

I walked up to him, making sure not to get off the soft underbelly. I promptly turned around and showed him my rear side. I bent over and pointed to my butt. "You can bite my shiny. Metal. ASS!" I pointed to my butt eat time I paused. The dragon roared and tried to get up again, but the pony was doing her job and keeping him still. He began breathing fire again. I got another Idea.

"Hey bud," I poked the dragons underbelly. He looked at me and took in a breath of air. "Think you could heat this up for me?" I lifted the scale. The dragon breathed fire at me again. I just simply moved to the right of the fire, leaving the scales tip in it. One he was done, the scales tip was an orange and red color. I smiled and the dragon looked at me again. "Thank you." I said in the best cheery voice I could pull of in this body. I proceeded to place the scale on what I thought was his heart. Then I jabbed it in, making it go in half way. The dragon roared in pain. I knew I had him now. I jumped up into the air and came down on the scale as hard as I could. The dragon roared, and his head went limp along with the rest of his flailing body. The red hue around him disappeared, and I jumped off the dragon. I landed with a thump, and I stood back up to my full 8 feet. I sighed as I relaxed my body. Yet again, my body let out a howling noise along with a cloud of stem. It kind of sounded like a wolf, but much more badass. The mare walked over to the dragon and began to poke it.

"Is, is it dead?" She looked over to me.

"Most definitely." She sighed.

"W-What are you?" My turn to sigh.

"I have no idea." Seriously, I don't know if I'm a robot, or something worse.

"W-Well, thank you for saving me." The mare trotted over to me. "Why are you so tall, and why do you only walk on two legs, and why do you have gems for eyes, and why do you release-" I lifted up a hand.

"Woah now, calm down. All questions will be answered shortly, unless your place is a long walk from here." The mare smiled.

"Oh no, its just down the path a little ways. My name is Scarlet Rose, what about you?" Well fuck. I didn't want to tell her my real name, so I guess I should tell her my 'given' name. I pointed to the right side of my chest.

"Names Colossus, you can call me that if you like." She nodded and smiled.

"Well Mr. Colossus, follow me." She trotted off into the woods again, me following behind her. Eventually, we came to a big, bustling city. I stopped and looked at all the tall buildings alongside all the pegasi in the air.

"W-What is this place?" It was magnificent to say the least. It was like Vegas back on earth, but without all the violence, drugs, and other things there.

"Ponies call it LP for short, but its actual name is Las Pegasus." I facepalmed.

"You've got to be kidding me." Scarlet laughed.

"Nope, now come on. We have to go the back way to my place to not get you noticed." Once again she led, and I followed. I could tell that this was going to be one long, stressful night.

Author here again. Okay, so if your wondering what the sound of the howling sounds like, its really similar to this.

Also, I suggest watching this anime, or at least giving it a try. It's actually a really good one. XD

Plus, I'm currently looking for an editor/ pre-reader who could help me with this story. These first few chapters were done without one, and I need one pretty bad. So, if you want to be an editor/ pre-reader, just message me.

Chapter 2: The Adventure Begins

View Online

Scarlet Rose led me through the back streets of Las Pegasus as I followed behind, trying to be quiet. However, that's quite hard when you're an 8 foot tall steam golem. Every time my knee would bend, a small stream of steam would be released.

"Quiet down, or else we'll get noticed!" Scarlet said while poking her head around a corner, looking to see if anypony was coming. "Come on, the coast is clear." I sighed.

"You know, it's kind of hard to keep quiet when you emit steam every time you move." I said, following her every step.

"Well, come on. We're almost back home." She started to walk down a very thin alley. "Right as soon as we get through here, we're home free." I just nodded and tried to follow her.

"H-Hey, this alley is too small for me to fit in!" I whispered to her. She looked back and facehooved.

"Well, try to find some way through. There's no other alley around here, only main roads." I sighed. Well, might as well get a running start. If I wasn't able to fit, then I'd have to force my way through.

"What are you doing!" Scarlet was now at the other end of the alley looking at me, and I started running. "Oh, nononononononono. DON'T DO IT!" Too late. I ran into the alley way, both sides of my body demolishing the walls of the buildings to my left and right. Once I got through I looked to see a few rocks on my shoulder. I wiped them off with my hand and looked over to Scarlet. She was staring at me and the alley. Back and forth until she finally got her senses back.

"What was that! I said find another way to fit! Not to barrel through both sides of the building!" She said. "I thought you were smarter than that!"

"Oops? Ehehe." I said while sheepishly rubbing the back of my neck.

"Okay, come here Colossus." I walked to the alley way and saw that both walls were now completely demolished. "Okay, now stand in the alley way like the way you came through." I did as ordered and stood in the alley. It was a tight fit, but from what I did before I fit pretty well. "Okay Colossus, turn sideways." I turned sideways, and found out I fit without even touching the area I made before.

"Oh, you meant that way." Scarlet did the mother of all facehooves.

"Sometimes, I worry about you, and we just met." She laughed. "How am I going to deal with you?" I thought for a minute, then looked to her and shrugged.

"I got nothing." She facehooved again. "Anyways, where is your place?" She sighed.

"Come on, it's this way." She started leading the way again. Eventually we came to a small two story house that was separated from all the other tall skyscrapers and buildings. She walked up to it, pulled a key out of her mane, and unlocked the door.

"Ah, home sweet home." She said as she walked in. I got on my hands and knees and crawled in the door, surprisingly I could fit through it like this. I sat down on the floor in the middle of the room, and watched Scarlet trot upstairs.

"Hey Colossus, I'm going to take a quick shower. Make yourself at home." I immediately sprawled out, dodging the furniture of course, and relaxed my body. It felt good to lay down. I lifted my head up and looked around. The house was nice to say the least. There was an alchemy table, a doorway that lead to a kitchen, a small table and couch in the living room, and it looked like there was a store looking place through another door.

"Okay, I swear if you disobey me this time, I will rip you to shreds you piece of shit tin can." I looked to see a young human woman with blue eyes and blonde hair staring at me.

"H-Hey, you're that one that was on my shoulder that one time when I first arrived here." She nodded and smiled.

"Yes, and you didn't follow my orders like I asked you too!" She stomped on my chest. "Why. Didn't. You. Do. It." She stomped with each word she said.

"Well, looks like it's someones time of month." I laughed, and she looked at me with anger in her eyes.

"Now look you piece of shit. You are going to follow my every command got that? Or I. Will. End. You." I sat up, making her fall off my chest. "Ow, you'll pay for that. Once I get my powers back, you're dead. You hear me, DEAD!" She said while straightening herself up. I laughed.

"Bitch please, you can't do shit." I said leaning back against the wall. She glared daggers at me again.

"Oh, you just wait till I get my powers back, then I shall end you and your friend up there." She started to walk off. "I swear, a fully conscious steampunk golem is NOT a good thing." She disappeared outside the house.

"O-kay? What was that?" I mean seriously. Who was she? Why did she say to follow her orders? Why was she threatening me? Oh well, I'll find out when the time comes.

After a while, Scarlet came back down the stairs, her mane straight, unlike the slight wave it had to it before. I was laying down at the time, just staring up at the ceiling.

"Hey Colossus, how are you going to sleep, or can you sleep?" She prodded my side.

"Oh, hey, um, what? Sorry, zoning out there for a minute. Anyways, what were you saying?" Scarlet sighed.

"I was asking to see where you were going to sleep." I stretched.

"Here's fine, goodnight." My body went limp, and I was out like a light. Scarlet laughed.

"Well, guess I might as well head to bed too." Scarlet trotted up the stairs to her room.

Yet again, awoken by the sun. I stood up and looked around...why am I looking at Scarlet's hooves? I looked up to see her walking out of the bathroom.

"Good morning Scarlet." I said in a cheerful tone.

"WHAAAAA!" She jumped up into the air. "Colossus! Why is your head poking through my floor!" I looked down, and sure enough I unconsciously stood up and my head went through her floor. I laughed.

"Sorry, kinda forgot I was in a small house. Sorry." She turned around. "Scarlet, why did you turn arou-OOF!" She bucked me in the face.

"Now, every time you do something bad or wrong, your getting a buck to the face, or leg, or crotch. You hear me?" I nodded and lowered my head through the floor. I sat back down as Scarlet walked down the stairs. "Okay Colossus, you ready for your grand appearance?" I looked at her, and if I could drink coffee, I would currently be spitting it everywhere.

"Say what now?" She nodded and got herself a glass of water from the sink.

"We're leaving to go to Gallopoli. The reason you saw me out there in the forest yesterday was because I was gathering some herbs just in case I needed any along the way there." She walked over to a cabinet and pulled out a satchel. She levitated it on her back and grabbed a piece of toast on the counter. "You ready?" I nodded. She made her way out, me crawling out behind her. She closed the door with her magic and locked it with the key. "Okay, lets go." I stood up to my full 8 feet outside. Already, ponies were staring me down, judging if I was friend or foe, or maybe some kind of monster. Of course, as I stretched, I released a cloud of steam which made that howling noise again. Ponies started running all over the place.

"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" One mare said as she ran by. I just looked and began to laugh.

"Oh man, this is great." I laughed some more. "Hey, how often does this happen?" Scarlet shrugged.

"I don't know, maybe two or three times a week." She laughed. I stopped and looked at her.

"A WEEK!" I said, surprised. She nodded. "Wow, ponies are really easy to scare aren't they?" She nodded again. "Wait a minute, why didn't we just do this on the way back to your place last night? Why aren't we sneaking out right now."

"Didn't feel like it." She said. I facepalmed. Women, can never understand their logic. Oh well, might as well go along with it.

"So, how long is it going to take to get to Gallopoli?" I said as we were walking down a street, ponies still running in terror. I must say, the city looks better at night. Las Pegasus was nothing really to look at during the day. Tall buildings and a few casinos here and there yea, but at night; oh man, it was amazing.

"It's going to take about five to seven days, depends on how those days go." Scarlet said. Okay, I can deal with that.

"What do you mean depends?" I asked.

"You know, weather and all that other good stuff." She said while twirling her hoof around in the air.

"Oh, that stuff. Well, I don't really have to worry about weather. You know, being all metal and stuff." I said. She looked back to me.

"Thunderstorm." Scarlet grinned at me.

"Touché." I laughed.

"Okay, we're getting ready to leave the city. Need anything before we leave?" She said while double checking her stuff. I shook my head, and she put the backpack back on. "Okay then, off we go." She started to walk out of the city limits, but stopped. "You know, I wonder what all will happen out there?" She said while staring into the sky.

"I don't know, maybe we will find untold riches, or fight a legendary monster, or maybe even an army!" I said. Scarlet nudged me on the leg.

"Not that you idiot. I mean what would we find, who would we find, and what would we do if we found it?" She said. I shrugged.

"You know, I honestly don't know. But I do know one thing." I said while walking alongside her.

"What's that?" She looked up to me.

"There's only one way to find out." Scarlet nodded.

"Alright then, lets go." She said. With that, we walked into the forest to start our five to seven day walk to Gallopoli.

Inside some bushes deep inside the forest

"Hey, when we find ponies?" One bush said while looking to the other. A gray paw came out and smacked the one that talked.

"Shut up, something coming." The other one quickly got back into place.

"Oh, is it ponies!?" The bush turned to the other one. Another paw began to come out, but quickly stopped.

"No idiot, it's...yes, it is!" The bush quickly pulled its paw back in.

"Yes! Finally we get rewarded by Alpha!" Another came up and said.

"Remember what alpha said?" One more said.

"No." Said the one from before.

"If we no bring ponies back, then he kill us." The others gasped.

"But, we have more here with u- what is shiny thing?" They all turned and looked at the tall thing that was emitting steam from its joints.

"I don't know, but shiny thing look scary." One bush began to shake.

"Who cares, we can kill it with many dogs." The other bushes nodded.

"Yes, yes. We shall kill shiny thing, then take pony!" One bush said while jumping up and down.

"Yes, we will. Diamond Dogs!" There was a lot of bush shaking, barking, and saluting. "Attack!"

We were just simply walking down a path in the woods. It was a nice day outside, a nice breeze, the sound of Scarlet getting caught in a net launcher. Wait, what? I looked around and noticed that we were surrounded by dog-like creatures that stood on their hind legs. My mind instantly made a connection; Diamond Dogs.

"Shiny thing, we have friend. You surrender now or die!" One of them said, the others lifted their spears towards me.

"Oh, how cute. You dogs and your pointy little toys." I taunted them. One of the dogs growled. "Oh my," I lifted my arms up into my chest and lifted a leg into the air. "That's so scary." Then I proceeded to bend over and laugh.

"Be quiet stupid shiny thing, or else." I walked up to the Diamond Dog who said that and got down to his level, then put his spear up to my chest.

"Or what?" The Diamond Dog was shaking, along with the spear. I stood back up, and the dog let out a sigh.

"Okay, you guys seriously don't want to mess with me. You've already threatened me, which is a quick start on my bad side. So, I suggest you let us on our way." I said walking over to the now captured Scarlet, who was currently trying to bite through the net.

"Scarlet, need help there?" I bent down and grabbed the net.

"Foolish thing, you think you can rip net. It's the most advan-" The dog was interrupted by me ripping Scarlet out of the net. I turned around and looked at them, the net ripped in two.

"What was that about not being able to rip the net?" The leader of them growled.

"Get him!" All the dogs charged at me.

"Scarlet, go. I've got this." She nodded, and I got ready for the incoming attack.

The first diamond dog that got to me was quickly disposed of by a kick from me. It flew to the side and hit a tree, and didn't get back up. I grabbed the next two that got near me by the head. This seemed kind of cruel, but I wanted to get my point by. I eventually started squeezing their heads, and they began to whimper. Thankfully Scarlet wasn't here to see this. I heard a crunch as blood began to fly through the cracks in my hands. I dropped the two now dead Diamond Dogs and their now deformed heads. The others backed off, and one began throwing vials at me. Of course, they just broke on me when they hit me. The dogs stood there smiling, but when nothing happened, they started looking at each other. I laughed.

"Gas, really. You think I could be taken down by that. I can't even smell." The dogs growled and charged again. Yet again I went on a killing spree. One got close to me, big mistake. I put my foot on his chest and pushed him down. I began to apply pressure on his chest. He began to grab at my foot and try to move it off.

"Sorry bud, not this time." I pushed my foot down, crushing him. I lifted my foot up to see that his ribs were hanging onto my feet. "Oh, come on." I began to shake my foot. "Stupid Diamond Dog corpse, get OFF!" I flung the corpse off, which happened to hit another Diamond Dog, knocking him out. One Diamond Dog got the smart idea to come up behind me. It jumped on me back, trying to grab onto my neck.

"Hey, you're not my necklace, so get off." I grabbed the Diamond Dog and slammed him on the ground, hearing his spine break. I grabbed another one, and repeated the process from before, just grab and throw.

"Man, this is too easy. Might as well run while you can!" I hate to say it, but I was having so much fun fighting. Just seeing your enemies run in fear, its so...satisfying. I went back to fighting, killing Diamond Dogs in any old fashion. The good o'l foot stomp, the back breaker, and so much more.

"Okay guys, time for one of my favorites." I run to a decently thick tree and rip it out of the ground. "Batter up!" A dog jumped in the air at me. I swung the tree as hard as I could, and watched as the dog spun into the air. Eventually, the force of him spinning around so fast ripped his body in two. "Ohhh, that's a home run!" Eventually, there was only one left.

"Please, d-don't hurt me. I surrender, I surrender!" He was cowering by a rock, shaking like a little baby. I had to scare him. I walked up to him, looked down to his level, my face covered in blood from the Diamond Dogs.

"Aw, wittle puppy too scared to fight a big o'l monster like me ain't cha?" The dog nodded like crazy. "Well," I relaxed my body which released a lot of steam, and the howling sound. I looked down to see a yellow stream going down through the grass. I laughed. "Ha, you pissed yourself! Oh man, that's pathetic. Anyways, as I was saying. I'm letting you go. That way, you can go get reinforcements, then I can kill them as well." I laughed again. The dog ran for his life, and I turned around and looked at what I did. Parts of D-Dogs all over the place. Some were even hanging from the trees, some being hung by their own intestines.

"The dogs laughed when I said I could do that. However, when I literally pulled out their intestines and started strangling them with it, it wasn't too funny." I began to laugh, but it was different. It wasn't my normal laugh, it sounded like something else, something I don't even want to describe. I shook my head a bit to calm down, then began to look for Scarlet.

"Scarlet? Scarlet, where are you?" I began to walk out of the clearing.

"O-Over here Colossus." I turned around to see her walking out of the bushes. She looked around at all the gore, and then to me. She instantly went from her usual black coat, straight to a greenish color. "E-Excuse me for a minute." She ran over to a nearby bush and proceeded to throw up. She walked back out, but didn't look at anything except the ground. "Okay Colossus, lets go, before I throw up again."

"Okay, but first do you know somewhere I can clean myself?" I said while looking myself over. She nodded.

"Yea, follow me. While you clean off, I'm going to let my stomach settle." She started walking off and I followed. Eventually we came out to a clearing. It has a nice big lake, wait a minute...this is the same spot I bathed in last time!

"Ha, so I'm here again." I said as I got into the lake. Scarlet looked at me.

"You've been here before?" She said. I nodded as I began to wash all the blood off.

"Yes, when I first came here. I didn't know what I was. The moon was lighting up the night sky just like every other night. I was giving off a faint glow, and as I walked I heard water. Well, I followed it, and this is what I found. I decided to step in, and to find out, the water actually felt really good." I said as I remembered that very weird night. Scarlet looked up into the sky.

"So, you mean you can feel things?" I stopped and looked at her.

"Yes, I can feel stuff touching my ski- er I mean metal. I can feel pain, I don't know about pleasure, but I do believe I can. I've felt anger, happiness, sadness, almost all of it." My eyes began to turn blue.

"Colossus, your eyes, their blue?" I snapped back out of my thoughts, and my eyes changed back to normal.

"Sorry, my eye color seems to change when I'm in a certain mood." I said while staring down at the lake. Scarlet nodded.

"Anyways, are we almost to our first checkpoint?" I looked back over to Scarlet. She floated out a map from her backpack.

"Um, yes. We're about maybe a 15 minute walk from it." She said as I began to walk out of the lake, clean as can be.

"Okay then, lets get moving." I looked over to her, and She nodded, then rolled up the map and floated it back in the bag.

We walked for a little while until we came to another clearing. By now the moon was beginning to rise, and the stars were beginning to show. It was a nice, cool night out, and we were setting up camp.

"Hey Colossus, hold this." Scarlet held up a stick. I bent down and held it up for her so she could finish making the tent. "And done! Thanks for the help Colossus." I nodded as she got out her sleeping bag, and I found a nice tree to sleep under.

"No problem. Goodnight Scarlet." The world began to fade.

"Goodnight Colossus." With that being said, I fell asleep.

I awoke in a dark room. Wait a minute, I'm a human again! I watched as my world turned white. I saw my mom and dad standing over my body in the hospital. I tried to holler to them, but they didn't hear me.

"Max, please come home. Mom and Dad miss you so much." Mom started crying at the edge of my bed. My dad, trying to act tough, walked over and patted my mom on the back, hiding tears of his own. I tried to walk over to them, maybe touch them to let them know that I'm here, but as I got close something blocked my way. It was like an invisible wall. I tried to holler at them, but to no prevail. After a while a doctor came into the room.

"M'am, visiting hours are over. Please leave the room now." My mom nodded and stood up, my dad putting his arm around her on the way out. I tried to get in front of the door to stop them, but they just walked right through me. I began to run after them, but it seemed like they got further and further away the faster I ran. Eventually my world was black again, then I heard a familiar voice.

"Colossus, come on now. Wake up, we have to get moving." It was Scarlet. My world was then filled with color again as I opened my eyes, finding her to be looking up at me. "Come on, we're already behind schedule." She began walking. I stood up and stumbled around.

"Oh, okay. Late. Yea, got it. Lead the way." I said while gaining my balance. She nodded, and we were on our way again. After a while of just nothing but walking, I got bored.

"Hey Scarlet?" I said. She looked at me while walking.

"Yea?" She smiled at me.

"How did you get that mark on your flank?" What can I say? I was curious. Scarlet laughed.

"Oh, you mean this thing. Well, it's a long story. Well, not really that long, it's just boring." Scarlet began to look up towards the sky again. I shook my head.

"Well, that's fine. It's something to help the time go by." I said. Scarlet nodded.

"Well, it was back when I was in school. I was maybe 6 or 7 years old. It was one day during school, we had someone come in and show us what their culture was like. We've had Gryphons, earth ponies, pegasi, unicorns, and even donkeys. Today was different though. Today we learned the zebra's way of life. Zebras had always intrigued me since I was a little foal, and I was ecstatic knowing I was going to meet a real live zebra. The bell rang, we all got into our seats, and the teacher welcomed our special guest in; and in walked a zebra. I had the biggest grin on my face, so big it was almost creepy. She began to talk about her culture, teach us a little of their language, and finally what got me this." She gestured to her cutie mark. "Zebras are known for their spell in alchemy, or 'potion making'. I still remember it like it was yesterday. The zebra pulled in a big black cauldron, along with some herbs and other things. She tossed a few things in, then began to stir. After a while a puff of green smoke flew into the air. She offered for one of the kids to try it, and one raised their hand. The colt walked up to the front of the class and drank the potion. For a few seconds, his mane and tail color changed. It went from blue, to green, to red, then back to the normal blue. The whole class clapped for the young stallion. He walked back to his seat and sat down, his hair color still changing. Now the zebra pointed to me in the class, so I walked up to the front. She said she wanted me to help her make a potion. I just felt like running around the room hopping going 'yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes'. However, all I did was smile and nod. So, there we were creating a potion. She told me what to do, and I followed. Eventually, after helping her create a few potions, she let me do one on my own. I did it perfectly, and before I knew it there was a bright flash behind me. I looked and I saw this on my flank." She gestured to her cutie mark again. "Finding out my specialty is in alchemy made me the happiest foal in the world."

"Wow, that was a pretty touching story. Makes me wonder how jealous all the blank flanks were." I said while looking around. Scarlet laughed.

"Yes, it was one of the greatest days of my life." She smiled as we kept walking. "I was always wanting to know what my special talent was. My parents, they thought I'd be a great writer, like they were. However, they were still surprised that my special talent was alchemy. I remember seeing their faces. At first, they looked saddened. Knowing that I wasn't meant to be a writer. I remember after though. They were the happiest I've seen them in a long time. Their little Rose, meant to be a talented potion maker. It was a first in our town. That means my cutie mark was super special. My store wasn't visited very often, mostly by travelers and merchants, but it got me by. However, here recently, due to the Diamond Dog attacks I haven't been getting much business. So, I've decided to move my business to somewhere close, hence us going to Gallopoli." Scarlet said. We walked out into a clearing. "Well, here we are. Our next stop. Come on Colossus, help me set up the tent." She began to pull out the camping supplies again. I simply nodded and began to help.

We stopped for the second time that night. Today was uneventful, just a calm walk through the woods, just talking as friends should. The night tonight wasn't as good as last night. The moon was out, but the sky was clouded up to where it was obscured. It kind of saddened me, not being able to see the night sky. The way my body glows at night wasn't going to be happening tonight, but my eyes still proved to be a good source of light. We finished setting up camp again, and I found a nice tree to sit under. I sat there staring up at the sky. I began to whisper.

"Mom, Dad. I hope you're okay. If anything, I will find a way home." My eyes turned blue. "Mom, I hope you can deal with Dad's shenanigans while I'm away. Also, Dad, I hope you can deal with Mom's ranting. I know how bad it gets when you two argue over the remote. Your wrestling shows, mom's drama shows. I've only been away for what? 3 days now? I don't know, I haven't been keeping track. Still, I hope I see you guys soon. I miss you both, and I love you." I lowered my head and slowly fell asleep. Images of my parents and memories of the good times we've had on my mind.

I awoke with a startle. Apparently the sky decided to screw Scarlet and I over and start raining. The tent fell down due to the weight of the rain that gathered on top, so I was stuck being her shelter. She was about as tall as my thigh, just a tiny bit shorter. It was fun, being Scarlet's umbrella. Of course, I am 8 foot tall as well. I sat there, my body curved up into a ball, holding Scarlet. There was a strike of thunder off in the distance.

"Hey, think we'll be okay, as in me not getting struck by lighting." I said as Scarlet got herself comfortable.

"I think we'll be okay." She said as a lightning bolt struck a tree nearby, making it split in two. "Or at least I hope so." Scarlet said as I moved around a bit, getting comfortable myself and eventually falling asleep. Eventually we both woke up, the clear night sky above our heads. I sat Scarlet down on the ground, and we looked at our stuff.

"Well, the tent is ruined thanks to the rain, so what will we do for shelter now?" She huffed as she looked over to me. I shrugged.

"We could always use me?" I curled myself up into a makeshift shelter. "Or I could just rip up trees and make one." I said as I stood up and began to grab onto a tree. Scarlet shook her head.

"No, what if you make it and it falls down on us?" She said as she walked over to me. "Wouldn't it kill me, and crush you?" I let go of the tree that I was currently getting ready to rip out of the ground and sighed. Scarlet pulled out her map.

"Well, seems like we're actually ahead of time. We should be to Gallopoli within the next day or so, unless weather decides to stall us again." We both heard thunder off in the distance. "And that seems very likely." She put up her map and began to walk. "Come on, lets try to cover as much ground as we can."

"Alright, lets move." I said as I began to follow her down the trail.

"Well, seems like were lost." Scarlet huffed as she threw the map down. Due to it being night out and Scarlet not being able to see, we got lost. I could see perfectly fine due to my eyes, but I didn't know the way around, I just followed. "Now what are we going to do?" She said as she looked to me.

"I don't know, maybe look for a sign or something to show us the way?" I saw some smoke off in the distance. "Hey. what's that?" I said as I pointed to it.

"I don'y know, I can't see a thing because its so dark." Scarlet huffed in frustration again. I picked her up, and she let out an 'Eep', which was almost as cute as Fluttershy's. I began to walk through the forest, walking closer to the pillar of smoke. After a while, I came up to an old looking shack. It was made out of wood, but had smoke billowing out of the chimney. I saw that there was a candle lit inside, and Scarlet began to fidget in my arms.

"Put me down and let me go see who's there." She said while squirming in my arms. I nodded and sat her on the ground, and she walked up to the door. I stood back in the forest until she nodded and told me we were good to go. She slowly walked up to the door, inspecting if there was anything suspicious or not, and of course, there wasn't. She walked up to the door and knocked three times. Eventually an old looking stallion opened the door. His brown hair was beginning to fade to white, and his coat was a light blue. He smiled at Scarlet as she introduced myself.

"Hello sir, my name is Scarlet Rose, and I'm wondering if you can lead us in the right direction. You see, my friend and I got lost on the way to Gallopoli and we need to find our way there." She said as she pulled out the map and showed him where it was. The stallion inspected the map and nodded his head.

"Yes, I can lead you there. Say, you said you and your friend correct?" The stallion said as he looked around. Scarlet began to sheepishly rub the back of her head with her hoof.

"Well, ehehe. You see, he's not exactly normal." She said as the stallion nodded his head. "He's tall I can tell you that much." The stallion nodded again. "A-Are you sure you can handle seeing him?" Scarlet said as she looked back into the forest at me.

"Why of course! There's nothing that I've seen before that has scared me. I'm not like those other ponies in Las Pegasus or Canterlot. Their just too stuck up for me. That's why I decided to move out here with my son, but he eventually moved out on his own after my wife passed away." He said as Scarlet motioned for me to come out.

"Well, it's now or never." I said as I strolled out of the forest. I began to walk up to the house, releasing steam from my joints. The stallion looked at me wide eyed, then smiled. Wait a minute, he smiled. That's not what I expected. I expected him to do something along the lines of scream-in-panic-and-lock-us-out-of-his-house kind of reaction, but that didn't happen. I walked up to his door, him still smiling like crazy. I stopped and relaxed, releasing steam and the howling noise again. I looked down to him, and said the first thing that came to my mid. "Hey, what's up?" The stallions pupils shrank, and his smile grew.

"My son actually did it. I said it was impossible, but he did it!" The stallion ran outside and began to look me over, then sighed. "Well, my son. You did do a good job with your so called 'lives work', but it still has some major flaws." He ran back inside. "Please, come in. I have something to mention to your...friend here." We both cautiously walked inside. The inside of the house was much different from the outside. Also, the smoke I saw wasn't from a fire. it was coming out from somewhere's down stairs. The stallion walked over to us and proceeded to hand Scarlet a cup of tea. "Please, take a seat. My name is Tik Tok, but most people call me Ticky." We both nodded. "I see your friend here, Colossus if I'm guessing correctly." I nodded. "Seems to be a golem without a master if I'm correct. If so, then that means." He had a hint of sadness in his eyes, then turned back to normal. "Anyways, I'll deal with that later. You see Mr. Colossus, my son was my apprentice before he went out on his own. My specialty is clocks, as you can tell from my cutie mark." He turned and showed us his cutie mark, and it was just a clock background with the clock hands on it. "I specialize in clocks yes, but my hobby is creating things like you." He gestured to my entire being. "My sons creations were things of evil, always used a certain book to make them come to life. Don't know why he did, but I guess the thing finally got to him." The stallion stopped walking and sighed. "Anyways, if you two would please follow me, and Colossus." I looked to him. "Please, step over into that corner." I crawled into the corner, and watched him pull a lever. Instantly, clamps came down and grabbed onto me. I tried to get out, but to no prevail. He looked to Scarlet and smiled. "Please follow me. I assure you, I plan no harm. In fact, I plan to help you." They began walking down the stairs as I was lowered into another room. It looked like a basement, but mainly a workshop. I heard Scarlet and Ticky walking down the stairs. "Now you see, Colossus was made to be a prototype, but as seeing as he's the only one, that leaves him able to be upgraded. The upgrade will take a day or two of constant work, but once I'm finished he will be a whole new golem." The wall I was currently against glided down, until it was flat on the ground, almost like an operation table. Ticky and Scarlet made it down the stairs and looked to me.

"It's okay Colossus, he's here to help." She said as she sat down in a chair and picked up a nearby book. Okay, so I'm getting an upgrade...I'm okay with this. Ticky walked over to me.

"Ready for your operation?" He said as he lowered a welding mask onto his face. I nodded.

"Alright, lets do this." I said as he began to work on me.

Three days passed, and constant work was done on me. I felt him change parts, add new parts, and thankfully none of this hurt. However, it was boring just staring at a grey ceiling for three days straight. Eventually the day came when I was finished.

"Alright, done." Ticky said as he sat down the torch and took off the mask. "I must say, my son made a good golem, but not as good as you are now. Your good enough to fit inside large houses now. Your a total of 6 and a half feet tall, a new shield arm." I sat up on the table and looked myself over. I looked awesome. Instead of that shiny silver I was before, I am now a shiny black. I must say, the black definitely makes me look more badass. I looked at my new right arm. Before it was just plain, but now it had a giant shield on it. It was an oval shape, attached to my elbow. I bent it, and the shield broke in two, almost like it was meant to when I bent my arm. I did it again, acting like I was going to bash someone, and it stayed as a whole when I moved my arm. The stallion smiled at me.

"I see you've already noticed something special with your new shield arm. You see, the shield is built for protection, but it's kind of annoying when you move your arm and the whole thing comes along correct?" I nodded. "Well you see, this shield is able to break down, as in when you're relaxed, it wont bother you when you bend your arm. However, when you're in combat, it stays perfectly together as you move your arm around." I nodded and moved my arm, still messing around with the shield. "Also, if you take a look at your left fist." I lifted it up, and noticed small spikes coming out from the knuckles. "Those spiked retract when your not in combat, but when you are they come out whenever you close your fist." Ticky said as that was the final offensive thing he added. I noticed that my body was now all connected. "Ah, looking at your now covered joints are we." He said as we walked over to me. I nodded. "I made the titanium thicker, but in addition I had to make you shorter so it would work." He said as he looked me over.

"Well, thanks Ticky. I'm sure your son would be proud to see the new version of me." Ticky sighed and shook his head.

"No, my son would be jealous. He was always trying to outdo me in everything. You see, my son doesn't like losing. that's one of the main reasons he left to live on his own, he was always losing to my machines I created. I kind of regret letting him leave, but now that he's...you know...anyways, I guess you all can leave now. You can just leave this old stallion to live out the rest of his days in seclusion." Well, that's not going to happen. After he did this to me, he deserves to live out his last days wandering the world, seeing the sights, and other things. I looked to Ticky.

"Nope, you're coming with me and Scarlet. You've helped me in more ways than one, so now I'm going to give you a chance to be able to go out and see the world. Even though your life is coming to a close. It's best to go out fighting than just sitting here letting your life rot away right?" Ticky looked up to me and smiled.

"Alright, I'll go. Just cause I want to see how you do out in the field." He said. Scarlet looked to me and smiled.

"You know, you just made an old stallion very happy." She said as Ticky ran off to get some stuff. We began walking up the stairs, and out of the house.

"Yea, I know. It's best to live life to the fullest, rather than just letting it rot away by doing nothing." I said as we walked out of the house. We waited a bit, but after a while Ticky walked back out, covered in armor and a greatsword on his side. I looked over to him.

"Wow, looks like the old mans still got some fight left in him." Ticky looked to me and smiled.

"Oh, you have no idea."
