Fluttershy becomes a doormat, and she's okay with that.

Twilight was outside in the Everfree Forest. She's learning how to use her alicorn powers. However, Fluttershy comes along, and she becomes a doormat. Twilight tries to fix her, but Fluttershy wants to stay a doormat.
Just something stupid that came into my mind when I saw this picture, the cover art, which DOESN'T BELONG TO ME!

Celestia's rays of light shimmered through the window of the Golden Oak Library, landing on the face of the newest princess, Twilight Sparkle. Her eyes gently fluttered open, and she weakly stared at the window. She gently smiled, and slowly got up from bed.

"Oh praise Celestia for the light!" She said, stretching out her new pair of alicorn wings. "But for these... Maybe I'll praise her sometime later. Much, much later." Twilight groaned on how awkward it was to stretch out something she just received yesterday, but she made her way to her dresser, and began to comb her hair. "There, all done." She smiled, and turned to her faithful dragon assistant, Spike. "Spike! Hey, Spike! I need you to wake up early. Spiiiikkkeee?" Twilight desperately tried to wake him up.

"Five more minutes..." The baby dragon muttered, pushing Twilight away.

"Oooh, Spike." Twilight said, rolling her eyes. Then, something clicked to her, and she smirked. "I didn't want it to come to this, but I, Princess Twilight Sparkle, order you to wake up and assist your princess!" She said, raising her hoof in the air to seem all mighty.

Spike grunted. "Why did you wake me up?!" He asked in an annoyed tone.

But before anything was answered, he was simply levitated within the hot pink grasp of the lavender princess.

"Sorry for this, Spike. But we've got work to do!" Twilight said, pulling Spike along side her.

"T-Twilight! Y-You're magic is too strong! You're choking me!" Spike said in alarm.

Twilight stopped in her tracks, and she dropped Spike on the grass outside of their house. "I'm so sorry, Spike, I didn't know! Ugh! Magic gets so confusing as an alicorn!" Twilight complained.

"Twilight, what's this thing that we need to do?"

"Ever since... Well, yesterday, I saw Celestia, Luna, and Cadence at the coronation, I remembered how alicorns are the best at magic! And then, I realized I was one. And... What if I'm not as good as magic? What if it gets out of control?! What do I do if that happens?! What if the magic is too strong, and i can't stop it?! I can't let that happen, Spike!" Twilight said, tears beginning to form in her eyes.

Spike softly smiled. "Hey, Twi. Nothing like that would ever happen! You're the best at magic, it's your talent! And-and magic has taken you this far. You should be proud of what magic has done."

"Oh, like nearly lead to the forever night, chaos, and invasion of the worst beings in the world, aaaannnndddd... Nearly changed the elements, and the world as we now it today!"

Spike rolled his eyes. "If you're that worried, let's go to the opening of Everfree Forest. We won't hurt anypony that way." Spike said, grabbing Twilight's hoof, and pulling her to the outskirts of Ponyville.

~MEANWHILE~

Fluttershy was outside her cottage, drinking coffee, feeding her animals. They all went along to play with one another. Fluttershy smiled, and stood on her doormat. Her furry doormat. Angel Bunny came up to her, and looked at her in a weird way.

"Oh, Angel. Don't be like that. It's just that this doormat is so welcoming. I mean, it say 'WELCOME' on it with a horseshoe next to it." But angel's looked didn't change. "And, it's furry, and feels rough against my hooves!" Angel facepalmed himself and hopped away. Fluttershy giggled, and she saw two purple blurs in the distance. Her mouth curved into a smile. "Twilight! Spike!" She said, waving her hooves at her two friends.

~BACK TO TWILIGHT AND SPIKE~

"Twilight! Fluttershy is awake! She'll be there to support you, come on!" Spike said, running up ahead.

Twilight weakly smiled and began to walk faster.

"Twilight! Spike! What a surprise! Would you like tea, Twilight? And how about some hot chocolate for Spike?" Fluttershy kindly offered.

"Nothing for me, Fluttershy. Thanks for the offer though."

"Uh... I would actually like some hot chocolate..." Spike said, blushing a little.

Fluttershy giggled, and Twilight rolled her eyes, smiling.

"I'll be right back. Why are you here though?"

"Magic practice." The two companions said in sync.

Fluttershy nodded her head, and she walked inside her cottage. She made a quick cup of hot chocolate, and she saw Twilight successfully turn and apple into an orange from the window. Fluttershy smiled, and went outside to congratulate her friend.

"That was amazing, Twilight! Oh, here's your hot chocolate, Spike!"

"Heh, thanks, Fluttershy." Twilight said, approaching her pegasus friend.

A pink beam escaped Twilight's horn unnoticed, and it turned Fluttershy into something.

A doormat.

A turquoise doormat with a bright bright purple trim around it. It had a shy-looking Fluttershy on it, and the words, 'Don't be shy. Come in.' were written around the pony.

Twilight and Spike stared at the doormat in shock.

"T-Twilight?! Sp-Spike?! Wh-What h-happened?!" The pegasus's voice could be heard from doormat.

"Uh... Is she a doormat?" Spike said straight after.

"Oooh! I'm so sorry, Fluttershy! I'll have you fixed right away!"

Twilight was about to levitate the doormat, but it slid away.

"Twilight, don't worry. I like being a doormat!" Fluttershy's voice sang.

"What?" Spike abruptly said, only to be smacked on the back on his head by Twilight.

"What Spike means is-" Twilight began, but then getting cut off by Spike.

"What. That's all I mean. Just, what?!" Spike said, his voice getting louder.

"Look, I feel so furry and rough, and I can move in a fun way, I love it!"

"Uh..." The pony and dragon said, lost for words.

Fluttershy began to sing:

Oh... Life as a doormat!

It feels so soft and rough!

Oh... Life as a doormat!

I slide from from place to place!

Oh... Life as a doormat!

I see things from a different point of view!

Everything is so much better...

As.

A.

Door... Maaaaaattt!"

Twilight and Spike began to slowly back away from their friend who has just became a doormat, but then scurried back home when Fluttershy sang that last verse:

Oh... Life as a doormat!
