Black Lightning gets his cutie mark!

[WARNING: THIS IS SORT-OF A RE-MAKE OF RAINBOW DASH"S CUTIE MARK WITH SOME CHANGES TO IT! DON'T READ IF YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING TO HATE IT!] Black Lightning is a young colt at Cloudsdale Flight School who hates his life; he is teased constantly and always messes up his tricks. And, to top it all off, he doesn't even have a cutie mark. But with one great day, all that changes.

So I decided to try and write a story, only because I need to have the story of my OC, Black Lightning, getting his cutie mark. This is my first fanfic; I hope you like it!

How Black Lightning got his Cutie Mark

Black Lightning tumbled into the soft warm cloud after a failed super nose dive of awesomeness, as he called it. Although the cloud was soft, his crash-landing was very painful; mentally painful. He was so frustrated that he thought that he was going to explode! With all the jeers from fellow classmates, and crash-landings and failed tricks occurring over and over again, he wanted to just stop trying and give up, but then he remembered what his Granny always said:

“Never give up, you can do anything if you put your mind to it.”

Know he knew what to do and said, “You can’t always get it on the first try, but it’ll be perfect with some more practice. Now, watch this.”

And he flew high into the air above the 3 ponies that were teasing him.

It’s time to show them how it’s done!” he thought as he started the dive toward the cloud.

And he dove toward the cloud at large speeds, only focusing on one thing: when to pull up. And as he became closer to the cloud, he decided it was time to pull up, but as he pulled up, his leg got made contact with the cloud, causing him to tumble through the air and fall flat on his face in the cloud.

“WOW! That was great!” said the pony who was in the front of the group of three ponies that had been watching Black Lightning fail repeatedly. Black Lightning assumed that he was the leader of their little group.

“I hate you, y’know that” said Black Lightning to the three of them.

The pony in front replied, “I kind of figured you would, but what do I care if some stupid pony who can’t even fly likes me or not.”

Black Lightning grinned and said, “Is that a challenge to a race?”

“I was hoping you would say that,” he said, as they were both now grinning.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everything was ready for the race to begin, the other pegasi had set up some obstacles to make it more fun to watch.
“You ready,” asked the pony standing next to him, whom he was racing against, also the leader of the group of ponies who was teasing him.
“I was born ready,” he said as he smiled, a look of determination on his face.
“3!”
“2!”
“1!”
“GO!” shouted the referee, and the race had begun.
His opponent had taken the lead, due to a cheap head start, which made Black Lightning even angrier than he was before, and he thought “This race is mine to win!”
He shot forward with immense speed, dodging all the obstacles, and catching up to the other racer, who looked completely shocked.
The course then took a downward slope and Black Lightning grinned and thought “This looks like a great place to do the super nose dive of awesomeness!
And he began a sharp dive, passing up his opponent. He then noticed a cone forming around him. He grinned even more widely and nearly doubled his speed, thinking that he might actually do it.
And then as the course ahead sloped upward, he quickly pulled up, gaining even more speed.
A huge black and yellow lightning bolt flew behind him, and he grinned even more widely, well he would have, if it was possible.
But as he looked behind him, he saw that the giant lightning bolt had hit his opponent, High Flyer. He quickly spun around, the giant lightning bolt still flowing behind him, and flew as quickly as he could to catch his opponent before he hit the ground.
C’mon!” he thought, “Faster!
He was now very close to the ground, reached out two arms, and barely caught his opponent before he hit the ground. Happy that he was safe, he flew up above Cloudsdale leaving a 2-color black and yellow rainbow in the sky.
He touched down onto the cloud and ponies surrounded him.
“Where’s the nurse?” he asked as he looked down at his opponent, who looked badly injured.
The nurse pony walked up to Black Lightning and took the injured colt out of his hooves.
“Will he be okay?” Black Lightning asked the nurse.
“Not sure,” she replied. “But he needs medical attention immediately.”
“Okay,” said Black Lightning. He had just spotted his good friend, Star Chaser and decided to walk over and meet her.
“Look!” she said enthusiastically and pointed at Black Lightning’s flank, where a brain with a lightning bolt coming out of it was now present.
“My cutie mark!” he shouted. “Wait where are you-” he asked as she began to walk away.
But she interrupted him, saying, “C’mon, slowpoke, let’s celebrate!”
And they walked off toward the cafeteria to celebrate this great day.
THE END (Just kidding, there's an epilogue :3)
“Ahhhhh, that cheesecake really hit the spot,” Black Lightning said to his friend, Star Chaser, who seemed as stuffed as he was.
“Ya think!” she said and giggled.
“Yeah, it really was good,” he retorted. “Hey, do you think we should go see if High Flyer is okay?”
“Yeah, we probably should, it is kind of your fault he’s in there,” she said.
“But it’s also my fault he’s not dead,” he said as they both laughed.
So they walked toward the hospital wing, talking about what they want to do today and thinking about if High Flyer is okay or not.
“Well, the bolt did hit him right in the face,” she said.
“But it’s not like he got a huge burn mark on his face.” He argued. “It probably felt like he flew into a brick wall that was moving faster than he was.”
“That’s gonna hurt a lot....” she replied.
“Well... umm...” he started, “Aw, I got nothing.”
They both laughed and then Star Chaser spotted a nurse who was walking down the hallway and asked her, “Excuse me ma’am, but do you know where High Flyer’s room is?”
“It’s room number 16,” she replied, “And be quick, visiting hours are almost over.”
“Okay, we will.” Star Chaser said. And they walked down the hall into room number sixteen, where they saw High Flyer lying in his bed, reading the new edition of Daring Do.
“Hello!” Black Lightning said.
“Oh, hey there,” he said as he continued to read. Black Lightning knew that High Flyer didn’t even know who had just entered the room.
“Good book, huh?” Black Lightning asked him.
“Oh yes, the series is very go-” he said looking up from his book, but at the sight of Black Lightning, he gave a shocked look.
“Didn’t expect me to be visiting you?” he asked.
High Flyer just remained silent for a moment or two they asked, “Why? Why did you save me?”
“High Flyer, I saved you because there’s no fun in winning unless it’s a fair game, and also, had you died, it might have looked like I was trying to kill you.”
“Oh...” High Flyer replied. “Well then, thanks a bunch,” he said and smiled.
“Hey, High Flyer, when you’re better, do you wanna race again? I promise I won’t do it again,” he said and chuckled. “But I promised Star Chaser here that if we did, she would get to race too,”
“Fine by me,” he said and laughed.
And the two of them left, excited for the upcoming race.
THE END (I’m serious this time)
