Chapter 1 -- The Meeting
The dark purple unicorn woke from a late sleep, but noticed it was still night-time. Groggily, she rose to her hooves and rubbed sleep from her eyes. She gave a quick look out the window to see four stars working their way inexorably towards the moon, which still contained the silhouette of the mare's head.
I'm late, I'm late, I'm late she thought as she rushed from the library towards Town Hall, the designated spot for the Summer Sun Celebration. Her long strides allowed her to make time quickly as she galloped at top speed, occasionally glancing at the moon before returning her attention to the path in front of her. She noticed the stars go behind the moon just as she caught sight of the massive assembly of ponies gathered around a stage which had been constructed to welcome Princess Celestia. Another glance revealed the lack of a silhouette on the moon's surface as she wended her way through the throng of ponies to meet up with her housemate, Twilight Sparkle.
"Hey, Twi, did I miss anything?" Amethyst asked in an almost flippant tone of voice, even going so far as to tack a nervous chuckle onto the end of her query. Before the librarian could answer, a loud gasp resounded through the square as a dark mist swirled around the upper level of the stage. Rarity had somehow made her way up to that second level and announced that the Princess was missing. The mist coalesced into the form of Nightmare Moon, her armor gleaming in the moonlight, an evil grin etched on her visage.
"Oooh, she's pretty!" the dark purple mare blurted, perhaps a little too loudly as several ponies turned in her direction. Apparently, she had spoken those words loudly enough for the dark alicorn to hear them as well. Amethyst's smile faltered as Nightmare turned her head in the mare's direction, then glided down to the ground, landing gracefully, then slowly trotting towards her.
"Hmm, so you think I'm pretty, huh? And who might you be, that you would be so bold as to compliment me so soon upon my arrival?" the alicorn asked, her voice an almost sultry purr as her grin widened. Her sharp canines gave the purple unicorn pause, her voice wavering slightly with her answer.
"I -- I am Amethyst Shadow, your majesty," she replied, bowing slightly towards the alicorn. Her grin widened further at this.
"Amethyst Shadow," the alicorn stated softly, mulling the name over in her mind as she struck a wistful pose.
"What have you done with our Princess?" asked one of the assembled ponies, who had taken the momentary distraction to group together tightly.
"Am I not worthy of your admiration? Am I not royalty enough for you?" the alicorn asked, glaring harshly at the assemblage. There were murmurs among the crowd, the ponies shifting nervously on their hooves as they waited to see what would happen. The fact that one mare was brave enough to stand face to face with the dark alicorn was enough to fill the air with a great deal of tension.
"You're royal enough for me, your majesty," Amethyst giggled, redirecting Nightmare's attention. "And if anything, your sheer beauty exceeds that by miles," she added coyly, batting her eyes at the alicorn.
"Are you trying to seduce me? You? Amethyst?" came the incredulous query, Nightmare's eyes widening in surprise.
"Amethyst! What are you doing?" asked Twilight.
"Never you mind, Twilight," the purple mare huffed before returning her attention to the alicorn. "Nightmare Moon -- I'd like to do more than just seduce you," she grinned, her giggling seemingly infectious as the alicorn's visage changed from stunned surprise to mischievous grin.
"What do you have in mind, Amethyst?" Nightmare asked, her voice having an even more sultry tone to it than before.
"There are quite a few things I'd like to do with you -- but not here, not in front of so many ponies -- what I have in mind is something we need a more discreet location for," she replied softly.
"I believe I know just the place," the alicorn chuckled as she wrapped a wing around the dark purple mare and teleported away with her.
"Amethyst!" Twilight shouted as they disappeared.
"Who was that? Where'd that purple unicorn come from? How did she know what was going to happen? Where did they go?" were some of the questions asked in rapid-fire fashion from a number of the ponies present. Twilight backed away from the group and galloped as quickly as she could to the library in order to search for some answers. She was quickly followed by Rainbow Dash, who flew above to follow; Pinkie Pie, whose galloping outpaced Twilight's; and Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy, whose speed couldn't match the other two.
The dark alicorn teleported to her private bedchamber within the castle ruins in the Everfree Forest -- the jaunt took a little effort, but the resulting disorientation shook the purple unicorn more than Nightmare Moon. It took Amethyst a few moments to recover from the trip, the alicorn watching in mild bemusement.
"Wooh, could you give me a word of warning next time you do that? Oooh," Amethyst moaned softly as she held her head in her forehooves and sat on the floor of the room. "Oh, and could you turn on the lights? I can barely see in here," she added, eliciting a soft chuckle from the alicorn.
"Of course, my little Amethyst," purred the lunar princess as she lit her horn and bathed the room in a soft blue glow. "You complimented me on my beauty earlier -- tell me, little one, am I still beautiful to you? Are you still willing to give me what I want?"
"Mmh, give me a moment, please -- your teleport took more out of me than it did you -- ooh, my head," the unicorn groaned, still holding her head. Nightmare chuckled softly.
"Take all the time you need -- there will be plenty of it."
"Uh, where are we?"
"We are in my private bedchamber -- which still looks as it did before I was sent away," the alicorn mused as she went to her bed and checked it for softness. "Yes, this will do quite nicely. Tell me, little Amethyst -- what would you like to do first?" she asked as she reclined on her bed, flashing a wicked smile at the unicorn.
"Oooh -- could you take off your helmet and armor? It'll help things a little," Amethyst noted, though she instinctively licked her lips upon seeing the alicorn's sexiness for the first time. Upon seeing the unicorn's reaction, Nightmare nodded her head and swiftly removed her helmet and armor in eager anticipation of what was to come. Nightmare's breath hitched for a brief moment as she was taken by surprise at the level of passion Amethyst was showing her.
