Twilight is taking a visit as the Crystal Empire when there is an unexpected visitor.
Twilight is taking a visit as the Crystal Empire, when she meets Flash, a guard. What she doesn't know, is that she is going to have the trip of a lifetime, for more than one reason...
Twilight has not been a human before. In other words, she has no idea who he is. I will take down art if requested.
Princess Twilight Sparkle was in her bed at the Crystal Empire. She was there so often, that she had her own bedroom that she decorated. It had a purple and green, four poster bed, and green side table, and a bed for Spike (She's still working on the decorated part). It's a beautiful day, she thought as she walked onto her balcony. Celestia did a good job today! The sky is blue, no clouds. Maybe I could practice flying today...
After a few minutes of admiring the beautiful sky, she walked out of her bedroom and to the dining room to eat breakfast. This visit was casual, so she had no royal duties to attend to today. All she had to do was have a fun, relaxing time with her family. She had arrived yesterday night, so she hadn't really visited with her family a lot yet.
"Hello Twilight!" Princess Cadence called out to her. She trotted over to her sister-in-law. "Did you have a good night's rest?"
"Yes I did!" Twilight said to Cadence.
"That's great! Because I have a lot of fun activities to do today!" she said. "And yes, I thought of activities to do. Maybe I am coming back to my childish nature because of Flurry Heart, because of them involves hide-and-seek and some other games..."
"Oh that's okay, Cadence. You know I love childish games! What are going to do today?" Twilight asked.
"It's a secret, meaning I can't tell you yet, because that will ruin the surprise. You will just have to wait a couple of hours." Cadence said, grinning.
"Oh....kay." Twilight said questioning Cadence. Twilight and Cadence arrived at the dining room and sat down at the table. Shining Armor and Flurry Heart, who was one-and-a-half years old, were already there.
"Aunt Twily." Flurry Heart kind-of said. (It was a little mushed together. Whoops!)
"Hello sweetie, how are you this morning?" Twilight said to her niece. Twilight fixed her hair a little bit. Flurry Heart really is just plain cute. Her mane and tail match perfectly. Twilight thought. And it just makes it better that her Dad is my brother, maybe my children will be that cute. Wait.. why am I even thinking about children, I don't even have a coltfriend. Much less a husband to have kids with.
"Twilight, what's wrong?" Cadence asked. "I asked you about you friends twice now, and you haven't answered." Cadence looked at her husband. Shining shrugged. He is really clueless sometimes. Cadence thought. This was obviously about her loneliness. You can still be sane, have a group of best friends next to you, and be lonely at the same time right? What she needs is a colt in her life and I know just the pony...
"Oh my! I am so sorry Cadence! I guess I was thinking to hard. My friends are doing great, Rainbow Dash is a little overwhelmed by being part of the Wonderbolts and being part go the Ponyville weather team and trying to help Scootaloo, her sister, learn how to fly. But she is still doing pretty well. Pinkie Pie is happy as normal. The Cakes are on vacation, so she is taking care of the family store by herself this month. She's pretty responsible, mostly though, when it comes to sugar. Rarity just came out with a new fashion line and so she is tired from all of that stuff. Her line is called 'Dimond Rare'. It is mostly blue and purple with green hints. It is really pretty! Fluttershy is taking care of a full grown alligator this week, so Pinkie is helping a little with that, because she has a pet alligator. And Spike is...well...he..umm...he's fine. Oh! I almost forgot, Starlight is learning wonderfully! She is a great student! She is really good at magic, and she is doing exceptionally in her friendship studies." Twilight said. "Every pony seems to be getting along too! So that makes my job a little bit easier. "
"I'm glad they are well!" said her brother.
"And how are you BBBFF?" Twilight said turning to her brother.
"I'm amazing and wonderful and amazing and confused and amazing but surprised too, you know? I mean not that you'd know, you wouldn't know I know, you know?" he said. Twilight looked at her brother, now that she really looked at him, he really did look confused.
"Shining, why are you so confused and AMAZING and surprised?" Twilight said.
"He's still getting used to having a kid, even though Flurry Heart has been with us for over a year. And I have already gotten used to it. So I don't know Twilight, good question, Shining Armor why are you feeling so AMAZING?" Cadence asked her husband with a fake confused look on her face. Part of being the Princess of Love, is to know when you husband is being a complete stupid idiot.
While eating dinner some time later, Flurry Heart started crying. Her mother apologized and excused herself. Cadence walked to one of the hallways and rocked her baby in her arms and started singing to Flurry Heart:
"Be at peace, Little Heart,
I am right here sweetheart,
I love you, my little Flurry Heart,
But please, please stop crying."
After a few minutes of singing this short lullaby, she said, "There we go 'My Little Heart'. I love you Flurry Heart, and you know that!" Cadence exited the hallway and was making her way back to the dining room when she turned the corner, only to see guards on the floor and a mysterious face in the darkened hallway.
"Hello Cadence dear. Did you miss me?"
"Shining!" Cadence shouted as she ran into the throne room. Twilight didn't know what was happening, so she just stared at her sister-in-law like she was crazy. In fact, no pony knew what was going on, so every pony thought Cadence was a little on the coo-coo side...
"Cadence, what's going on?" Shining asked.
"She... she...... Flurry Heart... not safe...... nursery guards... fallen," Cadence whispered, "Belladonna is back."
"But that's... that's impossible. Wait, where is Flurry Heart?!?" Shining started to hyperventilate.
"She's right here," Cadence showed Shining Flurry Heart in her arms and he started to calm down, "We need to find a safe place for her to be while we deal with this..." Cadence said.
"Okay, you ponies know that I am right here and you haven't told me anything. Like who is ----" Twilight said but got interrupted
"DO NOT SAY HER NAME!" Cadence screamed, "It gives her power every time she is recognized by name. And to answer your question, she is my mother."

Flash Sentry looked high and low, but could not find Belladonna. He finally just walked outside for some fresh air.
FLASHBACK
Belladonna walked into the Canterlot Castle and to her friend's throne.
"King." Belladonna bowed, "I assume you are aware about what I am here to talk about?"
"You know you don't have to address me like that. We're friends! But yes, Belladonna, I don't want to see you hurt. I will not wed you two, I will not have anything to do with that darkness. And neither should you. You should un-befriend him."
"Excuse me? You married the princess, now queen of the galaxy! Which need I remind you, IS COMPLETE AND UTTER DARKNESS!" Belladonna scream protested.
"That's different!" Sunshine whispered and got walked off of his throne and told the guards to leave them alone.
"How is it different? Is the fact that I am in love with a pony who is too dark for my best friend, bad?" Belladonna said, hurt.
"Belladonna, you know ---" Sunshine tried to speak, but his friend wouldn't let him.
"...that you have a problem with a such a nice, gentle..."
"... lovely pony, marrying such... such..."
"...darkness." Belladonna finished for him. She had tears in her eyes. She started to trot out of the room with tears falling down her face. I won't let him see me. I won't let him see me. I won't let him see me. I won't let him see me cry. I won't let him see me cry. "I thought you on my side, Sunshine, but if this is the way it has to be," she said as she walked though the doors of throne room that she opened with her magic, "I choose my fiancé over my best friend a million times. You will pay, my dear king and friend... you will pay."
"Wait, Belladonna! I'm sorry!"
"Goodbye, King Sunshine."
END OF FLASHBACK
Now, Belladonna was remembering this, she didn't realize that there were tears in her eyes as she walked down the street. Some pony stopped her in the street and said:
"Ma'am, are you all right?" The stallion asked with obvious concern.
"Yes, yes I am fine." She said. I forgot that the crystal ponies are so nice. Oh no. CRYSTAL PONIES DON'T HAVE HORNS OR WING! Oh dear. Now I have to act like I am a tourist. "Wait, sir? Do you know where the crystal palace is located?"
"Oh yes! I do! I can take you there if you want." he said.
"That would be wonderful!" She looked at the pony. He wasn't a crystal pony, she observed. He was orange, with blue hair, and he was a pegasus. "What is your name?"
"My name is Flash. This way to the castle!" he said happily.
When they arrived, he started walking into the castle with her. "You can go Flash, I can find my way around alright!" Belladonna said.
"Oh that is alright, I work here, and it is time for my shift." he said. I am still on my shift... he thought.
"You work here? Wow! What do you work as?" Belladonna asked, innocently. Oh no, he works here? I am so busted. she mentally kicked herself. It is just like me to walk into a pony who works at my daughter's castle...
"Oh I am just a cook. Nothing much!" Flash said.
"Oh so you don't know the Princess and the Prince?" Belladonna asked. I hope not. I hope not. I hope not.
"I wish I did, but I am just a cook." he said, trying to sound discouraged, apparently it worked because she believed him.
"Oh that's too bad." she said, also trying not sound to excited.
"Oh well, this is my stop!" Flash said, stopping at a random door. It was really the entrance to the spa.
"Oh, ok! Um bye!" Belladonna waved one last time. She had actually liked him, whatever his name was.
Flash trotted through the spa asking everyone in sight the nearest way to the throne room was. Finally someone recognized him and told him it was out the door he just came from, and to the opposite way that Belladonna went. Flash thanked the spa attendant, and ran out the doors. He quickly got to the throne room. Flash trotted right through the back doors, to see what was going on. He saw Princess Twilight, Princess Cadence, Princess Flurry Heart, and Shining Amour. He decided it would be best to tell him, because he really didn't know the other ponies in the room.
Flash walked up to him and said, "Sir. I think I have spotted her."
"Flash! You know about her?" Shining asked.
"Sir, excuse my rudeness, but I overheard you talking. So I went to see it I could find her." Flash reported.
"Great! Good work, solider. Where is she?" Shining said.
"I am right here, your majesty." Belladonna exclaimed as she bowed to the prince.

Everyone turned and looked at the alicorn in her true form, without a cape. Her coat was purple, with a dark blue and even darker purple. Her eyes were icy blue and her hair was put up in a fancy style.
"Guards! Seise her!" Cadence screamed. Her wings around Flurry Heart, protecting her. Shining ran over to his wife, putting a force field around everyone in the room, other than Belladonna.
"You know, my dear Cadence, my darling, you want to get me, you will have to try harder." She said calmly. With her big gigantic wings spread out, and her horn lit up, and put a force field around herself.
"Belladonna. Why are you here?" Cadence said through grinding teeth. Shining Amour placed a hoof on his wife's shoulder. He whispered, "Cadence, you have a plan right? Because you know her best." "Shining, of course I do." Cadence whispered back to him, rolling her eyes at her husband.
"What are you whispering about? Oh wait. Let me see. Is that a foal in your wings?" Belladonna smirked.
"Yes, that is my foal. Your point?"
"Cadence, what is her name? I am assuming it is a girl." Belladonna looked over Cadence's shoulder, "Is this a joke? The foal is an alicorn?"
"Your point is?" Shining Amour asked. He stepped a little bit closer to Cadence, and Belladonna stepped back.
"How did that happen? Your stupid husband is a unicorn, and you were a pegasus, before you got promoted. Oh well."
"How was I a pegasus? You and your dreadful husband, who happens to be my father, were both alicorns. And both of grandparents were alicorns, how was I a pegasus? Oh yes. Wait. I remember." Cadence said sarcastically. "A spell was put upon me when I was an alicorn foal, and my horn was taken from me. This only happened because my parents didn't take proper care of me." Cadence was now yelling.
"Whopps."
"SERIOUSLY? Did you even care about me at all?" Cadence asked, tear stinging her eyes.
"Not one bit. We didn't want you." Belladonna said simply.
"Excuse me? Hi! My name is Twilight Sparkle. Your daughter's fabulous choice of husband, is actually my brother, and so Princess Cadence is my sister-in-law. Which means that I will protect her and her foal from all harm if possible. Physical harm, and mental harm. And right now, you just hurt her, which means you are going to get it from me..." Twilight was now towering over Belladonna. Twilight was in the air, with her own force field, and Belladonna was sitting on the ground, intimidated by her family member. At the same time, Belladonna slowly got up from her sitting position, and Twilight lowered herself to the ground carefully.
"So, Princess Twilight, from our little chat, I have gathered the rolling information: You are a new princess to Equestria, and you are trying to find you place in your new role. You have obviously learned so much," Belladonna said sarcastically, then she hesitated for a moment thinking about what she saw, "Since you were stationed in Ponyville. You are also emotionally unbalanced, because your few friends aren't spending as much time with you anymore. Is all of this information correct?"
"How did you know all that?" Twilight asked.
"A magician never reviles her secrets." Belladonna said simply. "Now I would appreciate if you would get off my back, because I can say whatever I want to, to anyone I feel like talking to! Excuse me, but my powers are unlimited, and all of you are unfamiliar with me and my powers ----"
"Hold on, did you just threaten me?" Twilight asked. Now at this point, everypony was standing by, horns ready to protect each other, most of all, Twilight.
"Yes! Now I must be going! Goodbye!" Belladonna popped out of thin air.

"Yes! Now I must be going! Goodbye!" Belladonna popped out of thin air.
Every pony stared at the spot where Belladonna stood a few seconds ago. The room was quiet for a moment, until Cadence spoke.
"Thank you, Twilight, I mean," Cadence stumbled over her own words, "For speaking up for me."
"But...now...she...isn't...here... hehe. Whoops." Twilight said. What she wanted to say was that she was sorry because Belladonna could be anywhere, but she thought that might freak her brother out.
"Twilight, do you realize," Cadence wasn't stumbling when she said this, "you were just threatened? I think you need some protection..."
"Cadence, Flurry Heart needs more protection then I do." Twilight challenged. She didn't need protection.
"Flurry Heart has her own protection, I mean, if her parents, and Pinkie Pie couldn't get to her, who can?" Shining said. He was in favor of getting Twilight and Flurry Heart personal protection.
"But... BBBFF!?!" Twilight whined. She didn't want protection.
"Let's see. Who's the best soldier for this job..." Cadence asked her husband.
"Cadence! No, I don't need it.."
"I think it should be you, Flash!" Shining exclaimed.
Me? "Y...Yes Sir!" Flash said shakily. I can't handle this. I'm not dog enough for this job, am I?
"Soldier Flash Sentry, I want Princess Twilight to be protected at all times. That means you are to be with her during the day, and be by her door as she wakes. You can get another trust worthy soldier to guard her during the night..."
"Shining, I don't need..."
"I wasn't done... You will find some pony to guard her in the night, and you shall be with her at all times, even when she isn't in the Crystal Empire. She is visiting her friends, guard her. Unless Princess Cadence or I let you have a day off, you will not have a day off. If she tries to give you a break, refuse..."
"Cadence... Really? Is this necessary?"
"Completely necessary. I'm sorry, Twilight, but Shining is right. You need protection. Also, Flash, you will have these shifts until Belladonna is gone."
"Yes, Your Highness." Flash said, although having doubts.
"Can I ask one thing, Cadence and Shining?" asked Twilight.
"Sure." they said at the same time.
"Does Flash have to call me 'Your Highness'? I mean, I hate it when other ponies do that..."
"Fine. I will allow it." Shining grumbled.
"Thanks brother!" said Twilight. I'm glad they let me at least have that much. I hate it when ponies are just like, "Hello Your highness." I just think it is rude. I guess should probably say hello to my new guard... "Hello, Flash. As you probably know, from listening to own conversation, I would like it if you called me Twilight. Thins is just something I feel strongly about. I want our relationship to more of a friendship, less formality. N...nice to meet you!" Twilight added awkwardly.
"Good morning, your--- Twilight." Flash said. He was not sure how to react to calling a Princess by her first name.
"We'll work on that..." Twilight said with a smirk.
"Sorry, Twilight." Flash apologized.
"It's fine, Flash. Now, Cadence, " Twilight said trotting up to her sister-in-law and niece, "I hope you really are not hurt! I didn't mean to make matters work." She looked down at her hooves, feeling guilty.
"Don't feel guilty, Twilight! Flurry Heart is not allowing it!" she took Flurry Heart in her magic and waved her head in a small shake. "See?"
"Baby-talking me (literally) will not work on me, Cadence, you know that! But I do want to go to bed, I didn't get much sleep last night. And I want to do some research in the library tomorrow."
"Okay, Twilight. Goodnight!" Cadence said.
"Night, Sis. See you in the morning. With your new guard." Shining added.
"OK. Fine. Goodnight all of you ponies!" Twilight said, one last time.
"Goodnight!"
As soon as Twilight and Flash trotted out of the throne room, Twilight asked Flash, "Has a princess ever requested to be called by just their name, and not some form of royalty thing afterwards?"
Flash looked at the new princess. Her face looked worried. "No, but I like the idea, Pr- Twilight. Still working on that." Flash said, trying to hide his blush.
"Well, I'm glad it is ok with you. Now I'm not sure when I wake up, but um... I think it is around maybe..." Oh this is awkward, i have no idea when I wake up! Oh dear... "Um just be at my door around 5:45 ish. If...if you wouldn't mind." Twilight said.
"Sure, Twilight!" Flash said. "Do you know any guards who you would like guarding you during the night, until I get here in the morning?"
"I don't know any pony here, except you, and my family. Oh, and the librarian..." She added with a blush. "I would rather there be no guard at all, though, but if you could find any pony you think best, that's fine with me."
"Okay. Would you like me to go find some pony, now, or are you not going to go to bed now, or..." THIS IS SO AWKWARD! Flash screamed in his head.
"Sure, after you find some pony to do the job," Oh my Celestia, this is awkward... "You may go." Who am I giving orders? This is new. she thought.
"Yes, Twilight." Flash stopped himself from saying 'Your Highness'. Just barely. He walked away briskly, trying to think of a pony to do this job. If couldn't find a guard who wanted the job, he would have to do it. Day and night, no sleep. Never. That would be maddening. He finally thought of some pony, Moonshadow Sprint. She was a unicorn who could run so fast, she got the nickname 'Sprint' within the guard community. Her coat was gray, and her mane was a dark blue. They went through royal guard training together. They were actually pretty good friends. If you could call sitting at the same breakfast table being friends. Flash trotted over a clipboard stuck to the wall in the main area for the guards. The clipboard says where all of the guards live in the castle. He searched for Moonshadow Sprint's name in the west wing of the guards' quarters:
102 that's where she lives. Okay, welp, this is going to be awkward. Flash thought, Here goes nothing... He knocked on the door that said 102.
"Flash Century! Hey! What are you doing here?" Moonshadow Sprint greeted him.
"Hey, Moonshadow Sprint! This is awkward, um... well, I don't know if you have heard, but Cadence's mother just had a short visit to the Crystal Castle..." Flash said nervously.
"That's nice..." She said, not getting what he was saying.
"... and that's not a good thing." Flash looked around, hoping no pony else was in the hallway.
"Would you like to come in, Flash?" She asked.
"Yes please."
Moonshadow Sprint let him in the door and Flash was amazed at her small apartment. It's not that it was small, it was so nice looking, with wooden floors and blue counter tops in the kitchen. Next to the kitchen, the living room had a pretty good-sized TV, a little couch and a rocking chair.
"I love your place!" Flash said, totally off subject.
"Oh, thanks! When I was little, I wanted to be an interior designer. So I took that love and applied it here!" she said, not expecting the comment form Flash.
"Ok, as much as I love your awesome place, I have to ask you something about Princess Twilight." Flash said.
"Wait, is this the same topic as Princess Cadence's mother?" Moonshadow asked.
"Somehow yes. But anyways, here is the as much of the situation that I know in a nutshell: Cadence's mother came to see Flurry Heart, and Cadence and Shining Amour don't like her, also her name is something that starts with a 'B' but if you say it, the name somehow gives her power. Anyways, they had this fight until the mother said she didn't care for Cadence and Princess Cadence started crying. Then Twilight was like, "No, don't hurt her!" So then Twilight got threatened, and then she popped out of thin air, as unicorns do. Then, after that, Captain Shining Amour volunteered me as a guard until she is gone, every day and night. This is where you come into play. I need you to guard Princess Twilight during the night, when I will be sleeping."
"Woah. Okay, sure, but I have one question. Do I keep my other hours? Or do I just not show up or what?" Moonshadow asked, taking it all in.
"I was really thinking you were going to freak out. But your only duty, if you take this job, is to guard Princess Twilight during the night until she is gone."
"Ok, when do I start?"
"Right now."
As Flash Century and Moonshadow Sprint trotted down the hall to Princess Twilight's room, they tried to get to know each other better. When they came to her door Moonshadow Sprint asked Flash, "Do I knock or do I just stand here?"
"I'll knock, then I'll induce you to her."
"Ok."
Flash knocked on the door briskly. Twilight opened it cautiously saying, "Yes?"
"It's me, Twilight." Flash said
Moonshadow suddenly gasped, she bowed and said, "Princess Twilight Sparkle, it is a pleasure to meet you."
"Oh dear." Twilight said, "Did you forget to tell my new night guard that I like to be called 'Twilight'?"

After Twilight and Moonshadow got to know each other, Flash left to go to sleep himself. In the morning, after eating breakfast, he trotted to Twilight's room and excused Moonshadow quickly and quietly. He stood at the door of Twilight until the time she said to be there, (5:45) as he was about 20 minuets early.
"Morning, Flash!" Twilight said cheerfully, opening the door to her bedroom, locking it after herself.
"Morning Twilight." Note to self, Flash thought, She walks out at exactly when she says she's going to, she's not a pony to be late...
"Have you had breakfast yet?" Twilight asked.
"Yes, I have. Do you wish to go to the dining hall?" Flash asked.
"Sure, you know, you don't have to be so formal with me, you know I would rather this be more of a friendship than an awkward situation." Twilight laughed at her own words.
Flash laughed too saying,"I know, Twilight, this is just a different and new experience for me, that's all." Keep your cool, Flash! Keep it casual, keep it together!
"You and me both."
Please don't talk to me, it only makes it even more awkward for the both of us. Ugg this is weird. Flash thought. Luckily for him, Twilight didn't talk again until they were at the dining hall:
"Well thanks, Flash. You may go." Twilight said. PLEASE leave me alone, PLEASE!
"Sorry, m'am, but your brother, Shining Amour said never to take off, unless he, himself said so. I have to say right here."
Twilight sighed. "I knew you were going to say that."
After Twilight had breakfast, with Flash standing not far away at all times, they went to the library. Twilight explained to Flash that she wanted to do some research for a new project she was working on:
"Princess, do you need me to do anything for you, or get anything?" Flash asked.
"No, Flash. I'm fine. I'm just doing research in the best place in the entire world. It's also the biggest library."
"Ok, I'm be here if you need anything." he said, but she already had her nose in a book.
After about an hour or so, Flash saw Twilight getting a book from the top shelf. Which means she was flying. He thought it was fine until he saw her drop a little. Then she just starting dropping fast. You have to understand that the library was huge, so the shelves were really tall, so when Flash got to Twilight, she was only halfway down. The way that Flash caught her was a little awkward for the both of them. Flash had had his hooves out in front of him, and Twilight fell right into his arms. Twilight tried to flap her wings, but she couldn't get out of his grip. Flash slowly lowered the both of them to the ground, trying not to look to closely at the blushing princess.
Once Twilight was out of his hooves, she said: "Um, thanks, Flash." Twilight said awkwardly, "I just got these pesky wings, and I'm not really very good at flying I guess." she chuckled.
"Sure thing, Twilight. Do you need a book?" he smiled.
Twilight looked at him. She never really noticed that his eyes are so blue, how he had little dimples when he smiled. She stumbled over her words. "Um. Oh yeah! Sorry. The one called The Dangers of the Everfree Forest. I am doing a little research on the forest, so if anything happens near the forest in Ponyville, I will know what's coming."
"One book, coming up!" Flash said.
Twilight waited for Flash to come down from the bookshelf. "Thanks." she said.
"Princess?" Flash asked.
"Yes?"
"Your brother said that on some of these trips you make to the library, you forget to eat lunch. Are you hungry?" he asked.
"I completely forgot about eating... Sure. let's go eat. Have a suggestion?"
"Umm," Flash racked his brain for a place to eat, but couldn't think of anything. "I don't really get out much, I guess. I can't think of anything."
After they decided to have lunch, Flash and Twilight cleaned up her mess of books and headed into the streets to look for a place to eat. As soon as they walked out of the library, a random pony ran up to Twilight and screamed: "Everypony, look! It's Princess Twilight!"
Flash looked at the princess. Twilight glanced at him, sighed, then smiled saying, "It is bound to happen. Here we go." Then she braced herself then said loudly, "Flash, I think now would be a great time to go back to the castle, do you think?" She raised her eyebrow.
Flash got the hint. "Sure Twilight! Let go to the castle!" Then he muttered this under his breath, "Lead the way."
"Just go down some random street quickly and quietly. I can't make us both disappear at the same time. I think that would be frowned upon." Twilight whispered.
"Okay."
All of this happened very quickly. The ponies now gathered behind the princess and the guard. A reporter found her way to the front of the now growing crowd. She asked, "Your highness, are you on a date with this guard?"
"Yes." She said, then realizing what she had just muttered covered up her foolishness. "I mean no. No, no, no, no, no. I am not on a date with Flash. He is a guard. He is guarding me. That is all that is happening here."
Flash just stood there, helping her case. The mob of ponies slowly started to die away. But only because Twilight started to walk away, Flash right behind her.
Twilight started to walk away, Flash right behind her. "They thought I was dating him?" she said under her breath, not meant for Flash's ears. "They thought I was dating him? And I was on a date?" Flash just trotted a little slower. But then he thought, What is so bad about dating me? I mean, does my breath stink? He put a hoof up to his muscle, and breathed. No, Flash thought, It's not my breath.
"Ok. Do you know where we are, Flash?" Twilight asked, with out looking at him.
"Well. Umm. That... is an... intresting question. You know, I have no--"
"All you had to say was no." Now she turned to look at Flash. He never noticed how her hair always had a small part in it, just to the left of her horn. He looked at her tail, and it had the same part. "Um, Flash? Do you know where we are? I mean, don't you live in the crystal empire?"
"I live in the castle. I also work there, I don't really get out much."
"Oh." Twilight said. I thought the guards at least at a home, really. I guess they can make their homes pretty, I guess. Huh. "Do you have a apartment or something in the castle?"
"Well, the guards live under the castle, so it's not as 'crystal-y' as the actual castle, but all of the guards are split up into 4 different wings..."
"Ha, are you split up into different horns too?" Twilight laughed. Flash looked at her. He started to chuckle, as well. Then they started to laugh so hard, they couldn't stop. After about 5 minuets of laughing, they can to an abrupt stop. They came to a dead-end. Twilight said, "Well, I guess we should turn around."
"I think that would be good. I guess we could ask somepony "
"Are you crazy?!?! You saw how these ponies clung to my every word last time. I am not doing that again."
"Ok, well I guess we should just turn back."
"Well you should, but you're not going to." Belladonna was right in front of them. Instantly, Flash jumped in front of Twilight, remembering his duty. He pulled out a small javelin.
"Oh, so now a princess comes with a guard! How cute! I wish I had my own guard like yours. Oh wait, I do."
Twilight looked behind herself. There were at least 20 soldiers, but the thing that was really surprising, was that all of them were alicorns. With her back still turned she whispered to Flash, "Stay still, don't move a muscle. I don't want them pouncing." Then she said even quieter, "I'll tell you when to fly. Right now, just slowly turn around and look at the soldiers. I'll turn towards Belladonna." Flash turned, but he didn't believe his eyes. He assumed that the warriors were mixed, as in Earth, Pegasus, and Unicorn. But he was not expecting alicorns. Especially because in his world, there were only 5. Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Cadence, Princess Flurry Heart, and Twilight. Well, Princess Twilight. He thought.
"What do you want, Belladonna?" Twilight asked.
"Oh, she's a direct one. Their always fun."
"What do you want, Belladonna?"
"I am just going to assist you in finding a place for you and your date to go and eat."
"1) I am not dating any pony. 2) I am not dating any pony. 3) I am not dating any pony!" Now Twilight was annoyed. Why did all these ponies think she and Flash were dating?
"If you say so. But don't you want to eat?"
"I guess," Twilight said. " But not anywhere you would suggest."
"Oh my!" Belladonna was being a bit sarcastic. "I will only let you go, if you go to this restaurant. And act like you two are dating."
"Wait, I thought you were evil." Flash said, still, his back was turned to Twilight and Belladonna.
"I am. I just need some amusement. So is it a deal?"
"What's the name of this restaurant?" Twilight asked.
"It's called The Power of Love?" Flash asked. He heard Twilight's gulp.
"Yes, yes it is. And you two are going to pretend to be madly in love. and if you fail, I will take your niece, Princess Flurry Heart, my granddaughter." Belladonna said flying closer to Flash. He put his small dagger up to protect himself and Twilight. "Ha ha ha," Belladonna laughed. "You think you can protect yourselves from me? I don't think so." She flung his dagger across him, giving Flash a scrap across his chest.
"Get away from him. Belladonna, what is this about? You want us to go and pretend to be madly in love and go have lunch together. Why? Because if we fail, which we won't, you will take Flurry Heart."
"You have it correct. But I don't think acting madly in love will be hard for you two. I mean you already look like a couple."
Twilight let out an exasperated sigh. "WHY DOES EVERYPONY THINK WE ARE AN ITEM?" Flash patted her on the shoulder. "It's okay, right now we have bigger problems, like her."
"Well I will poof you two a block away from the café of Love. Have a good time! Bye!"
"Wait!" Twilight yelled. But she was too late, they were poofed a block away from the Power of Love Café.
