A series where K-9 meets the Mane 6 and have such adorable outings together!
K-9 Mark I has stumbled into Fluttershy's garden and at first Fluttershy being shocked to see such an unusual creature in her garden, she sees how adorable he looks and takes him to see the rest of her friends. Later, she gets more than her friends to see the metal wonder pup.
It was a beautiful summer morning in Ponyville; birds were singing, flowers were fragrant, on days like these, ponies like Fluttershy were the most happy. She happily awoke with a silent yawn and walked to her bathroom to freshen up with a nice, warm shower. After drying herself off, she made her way downstairs and made her own breakfast, a bowl of oatmeal, before starting the day. Angel, her pet bunny, hopped up to her and stomped his paw impatiently for his breakfast.
"Alright Angel, after I finish."
After she made her breakfast, she quickly made Angel a bowl of lettuce and carrots, which only made him hopping mad and threw the bowl in disgust. This made Fluttershy a little mad. After using her stare as she was known for, and a lecture, Angel gobbled up all the salad and ran away. Afterwards, Fluttershy made her way to her backyard and started to take care of all her animals and watering her plants around the house.
She started with Harry the Bear, cleaning his cave with him. Next, she went to the birds, filling their troughs with seed. She kept going with the rest, until she might have saw something from the corner of her eye, but continued with her work until she started to water her plants.
As she tiptoed through the tulips and frolicked through the ficus, she thought she noticed something between the willow tree and the rose bushes but just ignored it. It wasn't until she got to watering the final set of grapevines when she heard beeping and rolling sounds. She could've just been imagining due to the heat, and since it was around 1:30 P.M and pretty much finished watering, she decided to take a break for lunch.
Once after making her lunch containing apple slices and a hay and dandelion sandwich with an iced tea, she couldn't stop thinking about what she had seen or what she heard. She had assumed it was just one of her animals doing what they do or Angel was about to pull a mean-spirited prank. She hoped it was the first one. Just then she spotted a dog like figure going by her open door over to the sunflowers while also hearing that strange beeping and rolling. She had calmed down from the heat and this time she wasn't imagining. Having made up her mind, Fluttershy followed the tracks that strange creature left behind. They stopped near the birdhouses on the right side of her cottage, but no sign of him. She went to turn and leave finally believing it was her mad imagination, but as she did, a high, flat, robotic voice startled her and she ran behind a tree.
"Sentient form of life inbound. Show yourself." said the dog bot.
Fluttershy didn't know what to think of him. With his grey metal coat, multicolored collar and the big word K-9 in white on both sides. She slowly poked her head around the tree, shaking with fear.
"H-Hello?"
"Greetings, creature." the small robot dog said. His voice reminded her of someone from either Canterlot, although it could be Trottingham, she wasn't sure.
"Who are you?"
"I am K-9 Mark I. State your identity."
"Um, it's Fluttershy" Fluttershy said softly.
"State identity."
"Fluttershy." She wimpered softly.
"Speak up!" he said forcefully.
".,.,." she could barely say anything with what frightening vibe he gave her.
"Very well then. As of now you are known as an unknown life form." he turned to roll away, but Fluttershy still wanted to know more.
"Wait!"
He stopped. "What is it, miss creature?"
"My name is Fluttershy."
"Affirmative. Now you are known as Mistress."
"No it's Fluttershy."
"Affirmative."
"So, um, K-9, do you know where you're from?"
"Loyal pet to a being known as The Doctor."
"Doctor who?"
"Affirmative."
Although more curious about this "Doctor", she just left it a that.
"So K-9, would you like to come in?
"Affirmative, Mistress Fluttershy."
As they made their way inside, K-9 observed the various knick-knacks, birdhouses, and little creatures running around, he took it all in and assessed his situation.
"Well, here we are K-9."
"Cozy, it seems. Why do you have little furies around?"
"Well, um, I like to take care a lot of the animals from the surrounding forests like cleaning their habitats, fixing and healing wounds, and feeding them."
"Would you happen to have a tribble?"
"What's a tribble?"
"Master describes them as little balls of hair and fluff."
"Sounds adorable." said Fluttershy.
"Not until they rapidly multiply before starting to eat anything they can and multiply again." K-9 bluntly stated.
"Oh my."
"Or perhaps you have a gremlin?" asked K-9.
"No, they're too dangerous for me. Um, I had one once who was always hungry. I fed him water, but he multiplied. And when I accidentally fed them after midnight for a snack, they became the most horrifying of creatures! And then he brought all the rest of his friends and everything was almost ruined!" Fluttershy sobbed.
"At least now you are safe Mistress, that is all that matters."
"Thank you K-9. I needed that."
"Affirmative."
While the conversation was well and good, Fluttershy also had this strange feeling that she forgot something important today. So she made her way to the calendar and looked at today's date. It was one of Fluttershy's annual tea parties and this time it was special, because Rainbow Dash was coming over.
"Oh my goodness! I forgot all about my tea party with Rainbow Dash! What do I do?! What do I do?!" panicked Fluttershy.
"Calm down Fluttershy."
"How can I when I don't have anything set up! She'll be here any minute! Or second regarding her speed!"
"Take deep breaths and I may help you."
So she did. Afterwards, K-9 and herself made sure to make the living room a nice little area for the party. As they finished the last of it, there was a knock on the door.
The sun was rising and in the sky sat a large mansion where Manager of Weather and newest Wonderbolt lived, Rainbow Dash. As it was rising, she woke up to the sound of her Wonderbolts alarm clock and gave a quiet yawn.
"Man, flying as a Wonderbolt really takes a lot more out of ya than I thought."
She groggily made her way out of bed, she looked over to her bedside table where her favorite pet in the whole world was waking up peacefully.
"Good morning Tank." She said softly.
She stretched, getting rid of most of the aches and pains that came waking up from an uncomfortable position. She then went to her bathroom to freshen up.
She took a nice, long shower, which helped a little more with her aches, then she brushed her teeth and hair. Finally, she brought Tank out of his, well, tank, and made her way downstairs to make her breakfast. Rainbow took out a packet of instant grits and started pouring hot water into a small bowl. Afterwards, she got out a box of Tank's favorite breakfast meal, Tortoise Treats.
While they ate their respective meals, she thought of what she could do today. But first, she went to look at her schedule, that's when she got a reminder that she had her tea party with Fluttershy in a few hours. She thought since she's not a fan of tea parties, she could skip, but Fluttershy would be heartbroken if Dash did that, so she had to do it anyway. So after breakfast, she decided to do a few warm up exercises and then maybe make a quick snack after lunch before heading to Fluttershy's cottage.
She got outside, smelled the cool, morning breeze and took off, flowing freely through the air, did a few loopty loops, and spins to free her mind. She flew through Ponyville, much to the delight of the children and all of her other admirers. She flew by Sweet Apple Acres and waved to Applejack down below. Back into town she flew by The Friendship Castle where Twilight at the moment was studying. She thought she could pull a little prank, but decided against it.
Then she flew into Sugarcube Corner for her snack. There she was greeted by Pinkie Pie.
"Hiya Dashie!" she shouted.
"Hey Pinks." she said back. "How's work for ya?"
"Oh, I'll be busy all day today actually, what with all the orders, the twins, the parties I have planned, it takes a lot out of you!"
"I feel ya, flying with the Wonderbolts has the same thing."
"Say! Anything planned for you today?"
"Well I was just going over to Fluttershy's for one of her tea parties."
"Ooh! Sounds like fun! Have a good time!"
"Thanks Pinkie." she turned to leave.
"Wait Dashie! Before you go, look out for a little bot!"
"What?"
"Gotta go!" Pinkie fled as fast as she could.
"Wait! Ugh. It's Pinkie being Pinkie. Just keep thinking that Dash and things stay the same."
Meanwhile back at the cottage.
The place became a near madhouse! Fluttershy was so distracted by K-9 that her tea party with Rainbow Dash was nearly glanced over. There was so much she had to do. Fix the table, set the dishes, make the tea, reheat the scones, and deal with K-9! She was thinking of what to do with him when she gets there.
"Oh goodness gracious! How am I going to do this all in time? She'll be here any minute!"
"May I be of assistance, Mistress?" K-9 asked.
"Thank you K-9, but I don't know what you can do."
"I am fluent in over 200 languages, shoots lasers, and be the good pet Master wants."
"Well, that's um, very nice K-9, but what about the tea party?"
"May I suggest I carry the tea and scones for this friend."
"Oh that would be helpful K-9."
"Affirmative."
So they did. The scones were reheated, the tea finally brewed, and now both waited for their friend in blue. I wasn't a moment too soon. The door flung open and RD flies in.
"Hey shy, sorry I couldn't be here sooner I was..."
"Tea Miss Dash?" said K-9 rolling in with a tray consisting of a kettle and a pair of teacups.
Rainbow was at a loss of words. Like Flutters, she never saw anything like him before. Just then, Fluttershy walked in.
"Glad you could make it Dash. I would like you to meet K-9."
"Uh, hi?" Dash said.
"Greetings, Rainbow Dash, friend of mistress."
"Heh heh, uh, Fluttershy, can we talk? Privately."
"Oh, ok Rainbow. You wait here K-9."
"Affirmative."
They made their way to Fluttershy's upstairs bedroom and locked the door.
"Fluttershy. I don't know where he came from, what he's here for, but I don't think we should trust him." Dash said.
"What! Why? He never did anything wrong!"
"All I'm saying is, for your friends sake, is that you should keep a closer look on him. This might lead to trouble wherever he's from."
"I can try, but won't you give him a chance, for me?"
"Fine. But just so we're clear, keep a closer eye on him."
They made their way back downstairs where K-9 stood.
"Now we can get started." said Fluttershy.
"Affirmative!"
All three sat around Fluttershy's kitchen table while Rainbow was still hesitant towards K-9, she tried to start a conversation with him.
"So, uh, K-9. What do you do exactly?" said Dash.
"I am fluent in over six million forms of communication and I am loyal to a man known as The Doctor."
"Doctor who?"
"He doesn't like it when people say that."
"Say what?"
"That."
"Doctor who?"
"Affirmative."
"Huh?"
"Anyways!" said Fluttershy. "Rainbow, what have you been up to?"
"Usual, weather duty, Wonderbolts, riendship, the usual shtick. But all I want to know from you is where K-9 came from."
"Sorry Rainbow Dash, but all we know is that this "Doctor" is his owner."
"Why don't we take him to Twilight, maybe she can help out and send him back."
"What! But he just got here!"
"I know, but I want to know who this Doctor is."
"Affirmative." said K-9.
"Alright Dash, if you really think this will work, then let's go."
"Cool." said Dash.
So they went on their way. Onward to real adventure. Off to find answers and where is the Doctor?
While walking towards Twilight's castle, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and K-9 were busy talking amongst themselves.
"Do you really think this is a good idea Rainbow?" said Fluttershy.
"Trust me, you know that she's smart, she'll probably know of some spell to get him back and all that egghead stuff. Besides, I imagine she'll be all over him like an overprotective parent."
"OK. I hope this works."
"Affirmative." said K-9.
"Why do you keep saying that?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"It is what comes naturally to me."
"Ever thought of saying something else for once?"
"No."
"Fine, but don't think I'll get used to it!"
"Affirmative!" K-9 coyly said.
"GAH!" shouted Dash.
They arrived at the castle only to be greeted by Spike.
"Oh, hi guys!" said Spike.
"Hello Spike." said Fluttershy. "Is Twilight home?"
"Yeah, but she's a little busy right now with Starlight."
"May I ask why?"
"She said they were discussing spatulas and their uses. Beats me why they would go into that topic since that incident."
"Well as much as we would like to hear about egghead stuff, this is kinda important." said Dash. "See for yourself."
She turned his attention to K-9 who Spike was amazed by.
"Oh my gosh! A robot sci-fi dog! Where did you find him?!"
"He was in my backyard and I decided to take him in."
"Affirmative." said K-9.
"Sweet Celestia! It talks! This is the coolest thing ever! I'll tell Twilight immediately!"
Spike ran back inside to tell both Twilight and Starlight the news.
"Twilight, I still don't understand why a spatula can be so important." said Starlight.
"It's very important!"
"Okay, but why though?"
"Because Starlight, a spatula can mean anything with friendship. It's a metaphor."
"A metaphor for what?"
"Twilight! Starlight! You gotta see this!"
"Spike, what could be so important to stop our lesson?" asked Twilight.
"Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash found some small robot dog, you need to see this!"
"Robot dog? How is that possible?" asked Starlight.
"See for yourself." said Spike.
Both Fluttershy and Dash walked in with their shiny new friend and to their amazement, Twi and Star were having no reaction but jaw dropped.
(1)"A fully sentient, multi-functional automaton. I've never seen anything like it!" said Twilight. "Where did you find it!?"
"He was in my backyard and he looked lost so I took him in and then Rainbow Dash found out." Fluttershy said.
"What's his name?"
"I am K-9 Mark I, loyal pet to a being called the Doctor."
"The Doctor?" asked Starlight.
"Affirmative!"
"Doctor what?"
"Just Doctor."
"Okay, as much as I like a new friend introduction, but we came here for some help." Rainbow said.
"With what?" asked Twilight.
"K-9 here, we don't know where he came from and maybe you have something that could help him get back to where he's from."
"Rainbow Dash. Even with all my research and my knowledge, I do not see a simple way to do this. Even dimensional travel is still only used for the mirror, and I doubt that he's from there. If he was, I would've known about it."
"Oh dear. But what can we do then?" asked Fluttershy.
"I don't know, Fluttershy. But whoever this "Doctor" is, I'm sure he can help him."
"He always looks out for companions safety." K-9 stated.
"I'm sure he does." said Starlight. "Now, what can we do now in the meantime while our new friend is staying here?"
"We could show him around." said Spike.
"Hold on, Spike!" Twilight said. "What if the ponies don't know what to think about him? What if they start to attack him?"
"But look at him. He couldn't hurt anybody. Right K-9?"
"Only when needed, but affirmative."
"Well, um, I guess it couldn't hurt to bring him around town for a bit." said Fluttershy.
"Alright Fluttershy, but you have to promise me you'll keep him closely guarded."
"Affirmative." Fluttershy said. Everyone looks at her. "Oh... my. He seems to be rubbing off on me."
"Well, see ya guys!" Rainbow waved. As the K-9 gang left the castle they could her the others faintly talk about where spatulas are put to good use.
"Now, to continue with our spatula lesson, we will explain why it can frustrating like friendship problems."
