For five years, there has been nothing but pain, suffering, and death. As the war is coming near to an end, the mane six have one last mission before they all return home: Retake Canterlot.
After the events of "A Canterlot Wedding" queen Chrysalis has ordered a full-scale war against Canterlot. Not only she wants take control of Canterlot, but all of Equestria. For five years, the Equestrian army have been fighting victoriously against the Changelings as they make their final push toward Canterlot. With the help of a captured, but friendly changeling, Twilight and her friends are on a mission to not only take back Canterlot, but all of Equestria.
Based on Call of Duty World at War. Rated M for strong profanity and blood/gore.
Note- Yes I'm very aware from the YouTube video that it only takes place between Princess Luna and princess Celestia's armies fighting each other. But this is my point of view.
Thousands of ponies gathered around in the entrance inside of the Canterlot castle waiting for Princess Celestia. There have been rumors that there might be another attack in Canterlot and everypony have been in high alert in case if it does happen. Among all the ponies talking and blabbering about the news, Twilight and her friends are waiting impatiently over the upcoming attack.
"Y'all have any idea on what the hay going on?" asked Applejack. The girls looked at each other with sympathetic looks on there faces.
"Well, there have been rumors that there might be another attack here in Canterlot, so my guess is that." said Twilight.
"But do you have any idea who is gonna attack us?" asked Rainbow Dash who is somewhat curious.
Before she could answer, the royal guards signaled the ponies that Princess Celestia is here. As the princess made her way into the balcony, all the ponies bowed respectfully at the princess. At ease my little ponies." she said in a motherly tone.
"As all of you may have heard, we might be expecting another attack here in Canterlot." she said in a voice that everyone could hear her. "We are not so sure when or what time the attack will begin, but we have just received information from our royal spies that it will be queen Chrysalis who will be leading a full-scale war against us after her defeat here last month." she said.
All the ponies gasped in terror when the princess mention the name, Chrysalis. "We must be prepare for this attack and we must not let queen Chrysalis retake over Canterlot."
"We have also received news from the Cloudsdalians government that they will also be prepare in case if Cloudsdale will be taken over." Celestia said. Rainbow Dash then jumped in anger as soon as she heard the princess said that Cloudsdale might be attacked.
"There is no way in hell that we will let Chrysalis will take over Cloudsdale." she yelled with fury in her eyes.
All the ponies especially the princess turned there heads on the screaming pegasus. Applejack yanked down Rainbow Dash's tail before she could blurt out anything else.
"Rainbow, can ya calm down." said Applejack with a glare on her face.
"The princess just said that Cloudsdale might be attacked." said Fluttershy.
Before Celestia could continue, the main doors in castle burst open loudly. Everypony turned there heads as they watched Princess Luna running towards to her sister.
"Sister, I've just received terrible news!" she says in worry voice.
"What is it?" asked Celestia with a concern look on her face. "I've received intel from our spies that the changelings are taking over Manehatten right now!"
All the ponies gasped in horror. Now, everyone is now yelling in terror thinking that they're all doomed. It's surprising to hear that the changelings are now taking over Manehatten
"Oh mah Celestia!" said Applejack in terror. "All mah relatives are in Manehatten right now and their in trouble"
"I gotta go and help them!" she says as she gets up and runs toward the exit. Before she could reach to the doors, she felt a hoof being wrapped around her chest.
"Applejack its not safe!" said Pinkie Pie as she wrapped tightly around Applejack's back in avoiding her for not to leave.
"To hay with that!' she says. Just then, Princess Celestia spoke out.
"Also I'm sorry to say this to all of you, but in order for all of us to be prepare for this attack, we all must fight together in order to defeat the changelings and that includes sending our young children into combat." she said. Twilight and her friends cannot believe what they are hearing. The princess is making all ponies, especially young fillies and colts to fight. "This is outraged!" cried one of the ponies from the crowd. "I will not let my precious little angel go into battle!" another cried out. Both of the princess lowered their heads down hearing the disagreement the ponies refusing to let their young children go into war. Before the princess could continue talking, there was another pony bursting through the doors.
"Help, somepony help us!" cried a stallion." Everyone including the princesses turned their direction to the screaming stallion.
"What is it!?" cried out Twilight.
"The changelings are attacking!"
Just then, an explosion was heard, Twilight and her five friends went outside to investigate. What they saw was truly terrifying. Changelings everywhere from both air to ground are attacking and destroying homes and buildings from all direction. Ponies everywhere are running for their lives as the changelings come charging at them. Dozens of ponies lying dead and flat in the ground while blood splattered everywhere. Changelings attacking ponies by using their hooves and magic killing them.
Twilight and her friends are in shocked of seeing the uncomfortable sight that their seeing. "Oh my Celestia what are we going to do!?" asked Rarity in shocked. "There's ponies lying dead everywhere!" yelled Rainbow Dash. She then turned her head to Twilight who is still witnessing the horrible carnage. She then grabbed her by her hooves and faced her to her face. "Twilight, what are we going to do!?" she asked yelling at her face.
Twilight snapped her thoughts before seeing her friends in terrified looks. "We need to find the elements of harmony and fast!" she cried out. Before she and her friends could get them, in front of them is a big changeling with all six of the elements of harmony in her hoof with a devious smile on her face.
"Looking for these?" Chrysalis asks. She then throws all six of the elements of harmony to the ground before raising her own hoof smashing them into pieces.
"NOOOOO" yelled out Twilight as she charges furiously at the changeling. Before she could use her magic, Chrysalis then punched her in the face knocking her to the ground. "Twilight!" yelled her friends as they approach to her. She was bleeding from her nose with a purple mark on her face. They all faced the changeling who is laughing evilly.
"Why are ya doing this!?" yelled Applejack with fury in her eyes. This only made Chrysalis laugh even more. "Why I'm I doing this?" she questioned as she pointed her hoof towards Twilight.
"Thanks to your damn brother and fucking foalsiter of yours, my whole army has been defeated!" she says with fury in her eyes. "But now, we will not only take over Canterlot, but we will take all of EQUESTRIA!" she yelled in laughter.
"I will not allow that!" cried someone from the distance. Looking up, both princesses are flying in the air with the Royal guards by their side. "Guards, seize her!" said Celestia as she pointed at Chrysalis. Before they would have a chance to strike her, an explosion when off in the middle of the group. Everyone especially the princesses were knocked out from the unexpected explosion. Twilight lay her head in the ground moaning in pain. She opens her eyes only to see everything so blurry in her vision. Her ears are ringing on the inside making her only hear the sounds of ponies screaming. Then a figure came up to her grabbing her by the shoulders. "Twilight please don't die please!" cried the figure. It sounds like Fluttershy but it was so hard to tell due to of Twilight's ear still ringing.
"We are at war everypony." Twilight though to herself before she passes out.
Twilight (POV) I couldn't believe both of the princesses were not joking. Almost every filly and colt from ages eight to twelve were forced to go into combat. It hurts me to see each of the little ponies to see their parents not wanting them to fight. What even hurt me the most was that three of my favorite fillies, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were also forced to fight as well. Seeing three trembling in fear made me want to just hold them and telling them that everything will be alright.
It has been about four years since the war broke out against the changelings. Many lives were lost. Everyday, we see countless bodies of changelings and ponies lying everywhere on the ground. Many of their bodies were even blown to pieces. I couldn't bear to watch, especially with bodies of young fillies and colts lying everywhere. Just a few months ago, when I came across and abandoned building, I came across a dying mother holding her young daughter in her hooves. I was so relieved that the filly was still alive, thought she suffer from minor concussions. But as for her mother, she wasn't lucky. It reminds me of my own mother holding me into her hooves whenever I have nightmares when I was young.
As I walked over to the mayor's office where Princess Celestia was waiting for me, flashes from my previous missions flash in my eyes. All those dead bodies, their were just to hard to get them out of my head. I even tried using a spell that would help ponies for not getting aggressive when they suffer from posttramatic stress disorder. But it never worked due to of them being sent into the frontline.
A tear escaped from eyes as I thought about that. I'm just so glad that the war is almost over. We all have faced many challenges throughout the pain we were all facing. It's crazy to know that Chrysalis still won't give up, even if she knows that the war is almost near to a end.
As I made myself to the office door, inside, I came across all five of my friends, Spike, the Cutie Mark Crusaders and several other ponies. I wasn't sure what was going on, but from the looks of them, I could tell that something isn't right. I was greeted by Princess Celestia with her motherly voice.
"Twilight, I'm so glad that you were able to meet us." she said in a calm but serious tone. "Okay, what the hell is going?" I thought to myself.
I bowed down respectfully to her as I felt a pair of hooves on my shoulders. "Please, there's no need to bow to me, not in a time like this." she said.
"You wanted to see my princess?" I asked her in a worried voice.
"Im afraid so, please, have a seat." she says as she points to a nearby empty seat that was next to where Applejack and Rainbow Dash where sitting.
As I took my seat, I could hear the sounds of heavy artillery firing just outside where we are. For what I presume, I think our guys were firing enemies positions that were not far where we at. The sounds of ponies outside running in all circle gathering weapons and getting supplies to the wounded that are in the barracks. I turned my head around and see a number of changelings (now POW) in a straight line walking towards to either to their cells or to an execution area. Ever since when the war broke, there have been many changelings that were captured and sent to to prisons here in Ponyville. Many of them tried to escape, but many of them failed. Those who tried to escape were either shot to death by an execution squad or hanged to death. As much as I hate the changelings, I couldn't help but feel sympathy to a number of them.
"As all of you may know, the changelings are still making their final stands everywhere in Canterlot and we've even received intel from the Griffin army that they captured Cloudsdale." said Princess Celestia.
Right before she could continue, Rainbow Dash leaped into the air with joy and excitement. Her excitement was soon quiet down as she remembered the princess talking.
"Oops, sorry about princess, please continue." she says as she blushes with embarrassment.
"Thank you Rainbow, now as I was saying." she says as she continues. " We have yet not heard any contact from Bulk Biceps squad and I'm worried that may be into the enemies hands by now."
"Oh my, I hope he and his men are okay." said Fluttershy as she trembles in fear.
"Indeed Fluttershy, but we all must have faith in them if we wish to see them again." said princess Celestia.
"Uh princess, if I may ask, what's the real reason why you asked me to be here?" asked Twilight.
"Just before the princess could say anything to her, several royal guards burst into the room with assault like weapons with them.
"Princess, we have a prisoner that knows information to Chrysalis plans to another upcoming attack!" said one of the royal guards. The princess then got up from her seat and walked towards to the royal guard
"Bring him here." said Celestia in concern tone. The guards did as what the princess requested and ran out the doors.
"Uh princess, why would a prisoner tell us information of Chrysalis plans?" asked Twilight with a confused look on her face.
"Not every living thing in this world are evil Twilight." said Celestia in a calm voice.
Just then, the doors burst open and two Royal guards enter the room with young changeling in their hooves. The changeling looks no older but the same age as the mane six. His black coat was covered with bruises and cuts. Unlike most changelings, his eyes are a lot like pony eyes. His green eyes covered with a bruises and a black eye, but not as bad as it seems.
He looks up at the princess with a very worried look on his face.
"What's your name?" asked Celestia trying to keep calm as she can.
The changeling was a bit hesitant to even speak up. He looks around and sees the mane six giving him a nasty. All except Fluttershy who gave a worried look?
"Well?" said the princess impatiently.
"I- I don't - I don't have one." he says in a low voice.
"Of course you don't have name!" yelled Rainbow Dash. "No changeling has a name!"
Before she could go on yelling, she was silenced by Applejack's hoof.
"Rainbow, can ya calm the fuck down." she says glaring at her.
"Fine." she says gloating in defeat.
Celestia the turns her head around back to the changeling and looks at him in a calm but serious tone.
"I recently learned that you have information to Chrysalis upcoming attack, right?" she said.
"Uh, yes I do." said the changeling as he shakes in fear.
"Please, tell me everything." she says. "And don't worry, I won't hurt you."
"Al-alright." he says as the guards release him and walked out of the room.
"I just learned a few days ago before I got captured, Chrysalis is planning and air attack here on Ponyville." he said.
Everyone in the room gasped with horror. Even the princess was in shock of hearing that. Sure Ponyville was attacked by the changelings before, but they were never expecting an air attack meaning the changelings could use explosives bombs or use their magic to create something even big to blow up Ponyville.
"But there is more." said the changeling. "Now that the war is finally coming to an end, Chrysalis is ordering all of her generals and commanders to use its final defenses in Canterlot."
"What do you mean it's, "final defenses" asked Twilight raising her eyebrow with a concerned look.
"I mean that if the Equestrian army try to do anything to retake Canterlot, Chrysalis and her changeling army will nuke it." he said with a deep horror in his eyes.
This time, out of all ponies, Rarity suddenly fainted on the floor. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy went to help her up before Twilight stepped in front of the changeling.
"You mean Chrysalis will destroy all of Canterlot if we even step a hoof there?" asked Twilight.
"Yeah, and don't get me wrong, as much as I don't want that to happen, there is no stopping her either." said the changeling.
"Well hell to that y'all." said Applejack as she gets up from her seat. "There is no way that I'm gonna let that bitch do that!"
"Has there been anyone who tried to take back Canterlot or what?" questioned Scootaloo.
"Nopony especially the ponies being held as prisoners in the Canterlot dungeons and prison cells couldn't escape to do it." said the changeling as he lowered his head down.
"But isn't there anything you can do!" asked Spike while holding his automatic rifle with his claws.
The changeling looked up at him as if he thinks that he's outta his mind. As much as he wants to give them more information or help them, he didn't want to risk getting himself killed..... from Chrysalis!
Before he had the chance to speak up, the princess spoke up.
"Listen, we may be atill be at war with you changelings, but if you want to live, can you help us?" asked Celestia.
This time, the changeling felt his spine go down as those words came out from the princess lips. Yet, at least he could be free if he'd helped them.
"I- I'll-w-well." muttered the changeling. He looks up and sees all the ponies waiting impatiently for an answer.
In his mind, he really wants to help. He's been through a lot in the open battlefields and simply cannot bear to watch anyone, especially anypony die. He has witnessed the horror on what his species do to ponies. All those bodies.... he couldn't help but leak a tear.
"Uh, are you alright sugarcube?" asked Applejack with a concerned look on her face.
"Huh, oh I, I don't know." he says as he lowers his head down. "I mean, ever since the war broke out, I had witness the cruel and horrible stuff that us changelings done with you ponies."
Everypony in the room raised their eyebrows with a surprised look. They never knew a changeling like him would have sympathy for the ponies who have been killed in battle.
"Look I can understand your pain, but if you really want this war end, then I suggest that you help us, otherwise, we will all be dead." said Pinkie Pie.
The changeling looks up and sees the princess giving him a soft smile.
"Look, I trust you and do you want to know why?" said Celestia.
"Why?" asked the changeling.
"Because a changeling like you knows what it feels like when someone or somepony dies in combat and not to mention you are one of the first changelings to actually feel something." said Celestia.
The changeling looked away blushing. But come to think of it, she does make a good point.
"So will you help us?" asked Twilight as she extend a hoof to the changeling.
The changeling looks up at her and looks at the rest of the ponies who are waiting for a response. Fluttershy looks away blushing as she hides herself away from the others. He smiles at her reaction before looking back at the princess.
"Princess, count me in." he says as he reached for her hoof.
Twilight could only smile at the moment. Now that a changeling is going to be helping them, she and the others couldn't help but smile for their newest member and allied soldier.
In the background, Fluttershy still couldn't help smile and blush now that a kind changeling is going to help them.
Rainbow Dash (POV) Walking towards the barracks, I couldn't help but glare in anger. Not only that Chrysalis is planning to use her plans to attack Ponyville and nuke Canterlot, but couldn't believe that a Changeling is going to help my friends. It's almost as if I thinks he's trying to trick the princess just so he could kill her the second he'll get the chance. It's almost if could just walk up to him and just give him a good old knock out in his face.
Trying to control my anger, I walked over to the barracks where I spotted Fluttershy coming out of the room.
"Yo Fluttershy!" I called out trying to get her attention. She shot her head up if to think I was going to hurt her.
"Oh, hi Rainbow Dash." she said quietly as she hides her face behind her long pink mane.
"So, guess we have a new recruit with us huh." I said.
"Um, y-yes I guess we do." she said quietly.
"But seriously, why does it have to be a changeling?" I said with anger. "I don't trust not one bit of him!"
For a moment Fluttershy didn't say anything but gently shifting her hooves. It's almost if she's trying to hid something.
"Uh Fluttershy, are you alright?" I asked with concern. She then moved her head up facing me.
"Oh, um I mean, yes, I uh, listen Rainbow Dash, I need to get going, Applejack is looking for me." she said before taking off.
Before I could've said anything, she was gone. Sometimes that pegasus can be really quiet sometimes.
As I made my way inside the barracks, I still can't get over the fact that a changeling will be aiding us. I still can't believe that princess Celestia even gave the young changeling a chance to live too. Yet I can see from the look on his eyes that he looks eager to help us. Something tells me that maybe not all changelings are evil.
Sure I've come across a ton of captured changelings being sent to prison camps were there are to afraid to die there. But still, I don't trust one single changeling, even if they are begging for mercy.
Maybe except this one.
As I got to barracks, I found a number of letters and what it appears to be a picture of my parents lying on bed. Before I could even look at one of the letters, I grabbed the photo in my hooves and brought it close to me.
It's been two years since I last seen them. Both my mom and dad suddenly vanished in a blink of an eye. I made a promise to myself that when this war is over, I will find them. Dead or alive, I would bring them back onto my hooves. I can remember clearly when my hometown Cloudsdale was under siege by the changeling army.
I even remembered how we got separated.....
Five years ago...
"Everypony get off the streets and take shelter!" yelled out a Royal guard.
Everywhere, I see Pegasus flying crazy trying to find enough supplies and seeking shelter. It's pretty crazy to hear that the changelings are planning on taking over Equestria, especially Cloudsdale. I made my way running towards my parents house. The changelings could be here any second and I have to get my parents. I glad to know that Scootaloo is safe with Applejack along with her friends.
As I made my way to front door of my parents house, an explosion was heard behind me. When I turned my head, from the distance, a see an army of changelings making their way into the city of Cloudsdale. As much as I want to go back and help, I need to get my parents first. I knocked on the door so hard that the it open revealing my dad.
"Rainbow Dash, what are you doing here?" he asked in fear.
"Hey dad listen, get mom and come with me!" she says in panic.
"Why?" he asked me in a confused look.
I basically looked at him if he were to tell me a question that I for some reason know.
"Dad look around, do you not see changelings up in the skies!" I yelled.
He looked up when he noticed that the skies were filled with changelings and that everywhere the entire city of Cloudsdale is on fire.
"Ch- Changings!?" he said in a shocked voice.
Just then I spotted my mom coming outside in a panic look.
"Oh my Celestia honey what's going on?" she asked worried.
My dad quickly turned around and ran toward my mom holding her hoof tightly.
"Firefly get your stuff, Cloudsdale is under attack!" he said panicking to.
My mom quickly looked at me and shocked to me there.
"Rainbow Dash!" she exclaimed running towards me. I ran up to her and we both quickly hugged each other before breaking out hug.
"Mom get your stuff, we need to get out here!" I said while pointing to what's going on.
"What's going on?" she asked now looking scared.
"The changelings are back and are about to attack all of Equestria!" I said.
She then looked at me in a expression as if I were lying.
"But, but that's impossible!" she said. "I thought you and your friends defeated them!"
"Yeah well their back and queen Chrysalis is back and now wants to take over all of Equestria!" I said.
Before she could reacted or anything, an explosion was heard from the distance which made us looked.
"Honey, we need to leave now!" I heard my dad telling my mom.
Just then out of nowhere, an explosion was heard but this time, it hit my parents home. We all decked out on the ground in cover as another explosion suddenly hit the house again.
"Oh my goodness, our house!" my dad yelled in horror.
Just then, two royal guards came to us in uniforms looking panicked as well as my parents.
"What are you folks doing out here!?" one of them asked.
"Yeah, you all need to get out of here!" the other guard said. I quickly got up and ran towards them
"Please can you help us, take my parents down to the Ponyville train station!"
Present Day..... Ever since that day, I just hoped that they're safe. From the moment the royal guards send her away, I could only assume that they'd be at least safe.
Now that it's been five years, I have not heard anything from them since. I even can't get the images of my parents being captured and tortured from the changelings out of my head. I should try and stay more focus on our task by helping as many ponies as we could.
We've lost so many that I couldn't bare to watch the ones alive suffer. Like two years ago when me and my friends were securing a destroyed building in Cloudsdale, I came across a dying young filly pegasus holding a picture on what it seems to be her parents. I could've sworn I shed a tear or two as I witnessed that horrible sight.
I only hoped that I make it to the Ponyville hospital in time to help the poor filly. But she died before we could've make it there in time.
Ever since that day, I made a solemn promise to myself that I'd protect my friends no matter what, especially Scootaloo. I didn't want to lose her or any of their friends. Now that they all got their cutie marks, I could only hope to keep them alive no matter what.
Now that we got a new member in our team, I just hope that he would help us end this war.
