Your about to embark on a journey, which only you have the power to chose what happens.
You, living in a land of Equestria, is about to embark on a journey which everything is caused by your own actions. Will you become a Ponymon master? Or a Ponymon gym trainer? Will you survive? Only you can find out.
“Hello, there! Glad to meet you! Welcome to the land of Ponymon! My name is Professor Oak, although people often refer to me as the Ponymon Professor. This world is largely inhabited by creatures called Ponymon. Some people has Ponymon for pets, others use for battling. As for myself, I study them as a profession. But first tell me a little about yourself. Because I am a Ponymon professor, and not a human professor, I cannot tell if you are a boy or a girl. So tell me, are you a boy? Or are you a girl?”
You tell him your gender.
“Ah! Good! I should have known that; your voice gives it away.” Professor Oak then points to his grandson. “This is my grandson, Gary. He has been your rival since you were a baby. Since I am rather forgetful, I don’t remember his name, even if I just said it. Call this guy whatever you want.” Gary rolled his eyes. “Anyway, you! Your very own Ponymon legend is about to unfold! A world of dreams and adventures, and possible clopping, with Ponymon awaits!”
You begin to feel yourself shrink, and magically appear in your room. You begin to wonder what you should do next…
You decided to play with your new Nintendo console. You played Legend of Celestia before changing the game to Ponykart. You raced a few rounds and got beaten terribly. Poor you, you lost every match. You rage-quitted, and to forget about your gaming experience, quickly moved to something else.
You made your way over to your computer and pressed the start button. Because of the loner you are, you got no messages. Poor you. Then you realised that you have Windows. And the start button was actually a nail. You look around nervously to make sure no one saw your failness. Then you wonder what you should do now.
You walk towards the forest. It was dark and eerie. You realised that you have just walked into the Everfree forest, which was not something you should be doing this far ahead of the story. In shock, you accidently stepped onto a patch of grass, and a wild, but extremely cute (and cuddly) Zecora foal appeared, and chanted a spell, killing you instantly.
You should of chosen a different way out of Sweet Apple Acres. Luckily, you had a fairy in a bottle inside your pocket, which granted your life back at the very beginning. “Hey! Listen! Try not to make more mistakes!” whispered the fairy, before disappearing off.
You made your way towards the grassy area covering the only road out of Sweet Apple Acres. A familiar old voice stopped you in your tracks.
“Hey! You! Don’t go out!” Just like in anime, an exclamation mark appears out of your head. You see Oak running, scarily fast for an old man, towards you. “It’s unsafe! Extremely cute and cuddly Ponymon hides in there! You need your own Ponymon to shield you from their cuteness! I know, follow me!” exclaims Oak, and begins to walk away. Your legs begin to follow him, without any your control. More gypsy magic, you think. You follow him into the laboratory and saw Gary Oak again, groaning.
“Gramps! I’m fed up with waiting!”
“…Bob? Let me think… Oh! That’s right! I told you to come! Just wait a minute! There are three Ponymon here. These Ponymon are held in air-tight, extremely small PoniBalls. Spelt with an ‘I’ instead of a ‘y’ because it looks cooler. When I was your age…” started Professor Oak.
Gary groaned. “Gramps, just cut to the chase, okay?”
“Fine, I’ll say it fast. When-I-was-your-age-I-was-a-serious-ponymon-trainer. And-then-“
“Gramps! Seriously?”
“Fine. I only have three left. If you only listened I could have told you the time I lost the rest. You boys can have one each. Go on, chose!”
The extreme pressure of choosing almost rips you apart. You close your eyes and chose one at random...
“…Right, all kids leave home someday. It said so on T.V. Everything on T.V. is true. Oh, Professor Oak was looking for you. Oh, another thing the television said was…” Blabbered your mum. You decided to quickly walk outside before she starts talking about other stuff.
Outside you get the lovely view of Sweet Apple Acres. You walk into the Professor’s lab. That’s where his is most of the time. You walked through the group of scientist into a little clearing, he wasn’t there. Just his grandson, Gary Oak. You walked towards him to ask about the location of his grandfather, but he spoke to you before you can speak.
“What!? Oh, it’s only you. Lame. Gramps isn’t around, ok?” he muttered.
Oh well, time to ditch this place, you thought. You went back outside.
You chose the left PoniBall. “Hey! I thought that was going to be my one!” Gary shouted. “Uh… Chose the middle one, ok?” said Oak, talking to you. You look back at the table holding the PoniBalls and chose another one.
“I knew you’ll choose this one in the end!” chuckled the Ponymon Professor. You rolled your eyes. “Open up the PoniBall and see what you got!” You gazed at the Poniball for a bit before opening it, revealing a foal Ponymon.
“Uh… Hello…” said the yellow coloured Ponymon. Your eyes are wide with shock. You never heard Ponymon speak in English before. Then you realised that you never seen a Ponymon before, let alone hear one. You ask her for her name.
“Um… My name… My name is… Fluttershy...”
Gary Oak suddenly spoke. “Oh yeah! My turn now! I’m going to choose the best Ponymon trainer ever!” He picked up the left PoniBall and opened it. A pink Ponymon foal appeared, giggling with delight. “And to start off, I demand a battle between our Ponymon!”
“Go! Pinkie Pie” your rival yelled. His Ponymon giggled, before letting on a war face. “Pinkie Pie! Use laughter!” The pink Ponymon laughed at Fluttershy, who noticeably began to weaken. You, being the first time Ponymon trainer, were unaware of what to do. You told your Ponymon to attack.
“Um… I don’t really want to hurt anypony, but I was wondering if you could… Faint for me? I mean, only if it is okay with you...” Fluttershy’s voice trailed off. Gary’s pink Ponymon looked confused for a second, before speaking.
“Oki Doki Loki!” Pinkie Pie performed a dramatic fall to the ground, and make sure she had her tongue sticking out of her mouth for an added fainting effect.
The Professor glanced at the ‘fainted’ Ponymon before pointing at you. “You win!”
“WHAT!” yelled Gary. “How does that even work?! My Ponymon hasn’t even felt any damage!” His grandfather sighed. “The first trainer with all their Ponymon fainted loses the match. Duh.” Gary was furious. He used the PoniBall to put Pinkie Pie back into the ball and stomped out of the room.“Kids these days…” he mumbled before turning his back to you.
